Nailed the theme and the fun of the game. Great stuff!
Just wanted to say thanks for the Gamemaker advice. Exe exported now and on my page! :D
I like this, a side scroller "unfinished swan" approach. Good work. Dialogue is a little slow, but that is just balancing with time, which you dont get in 48 hrs! great stuff.
Awesome fun! I love the sounds and the tune! :D also, random puppy speed up is genius. Very well put together. Impressed :D
Hahaa! This is great :D I liked it when it said "too bad, he noticed TOTAL FAILURE" :D
I think the unresponsive comment might be that the dialogue boxes are up for a bit long maybe? I enjoyed it though :)
I really like the smoothness of the character movement and the music. you have made a fun little game here :)
file isn't available anymore?
I like this a lot. It is kind of a cross between a board game called "Galaxy Truckers" (Which I love) and FTL (Which I love) :) Great idea and I think you did a good job :) I went a different direction with my theme but wish I had done something space related now! Still, I managed to fit in an astronaut at least :D
Yaay! You can pick them up normally yes but I wanted to surprise players when they experimented so didn't say what would happen :D
Thank you Mythalore! The performance is something that concerns me... If it was consistent i could do something about it but it is so random. Some times it runs like a dream, other times it chugs and crashes. Same PC, same settings etc. madness. Still, thanks for taking the time to play it :)
Hey all! I managed to fix a crash bug which has had a nice knock on effect of fixing the screen tear and chugging! :D
Uploading v1.2 now :)
Hey Skulls! Thank you for the advice. I have quickly created one and uploaded it just now. Link is at the top! :D
Hi everyone, sorry for the errors, just seen that when I export it Via an EXE I get some issues that are not present when it is installed. Removed link for the moment until I can fix it. Thanks to Eternal_Rest for the heads up!
Great stuff. Seems to loop on the work screen endlessly but I like it :)
I really like the look/no look masking of the side of the screen. Bit more of an ending woulda been nice but as you say, short time! :D
Really love the concept of this game. Wondered what was going on to begin with then twigged it and went 'oh no!' *runs for more tokens* Great job :)
would have preferred if the mechanic was 10 seconds ON 10 seconds OFF as it would be more playable. Good idea though and intriguing to play.
Not overly keen on the jump and wall jump, but thought the graphics looked nice and the levels felt fairly balanced. Nice work here :)
Just wanted to say that this really made me smile. I love the idea and the way you have built it. Shame it wasn't finished but i think it is worth your time to give it a go. I love the humor and the ending made me laugh a lot :) breaking the 4th wall was nice!
Wave 5 and died but had fun! Audio made it and the visuals were nice.
Lovely concept and really enjoyed figuring it out. Tricky little puzzler with a nice idea. great stuff! :)
Nice entry and I have to say, my first google chrome game ever! :) nice work
nice game, had quite a bit of fun with this. initially I thought that the timer was too long to be a challenge so was happy when more things showed up. the "avoid" blobs make the game :D great work!
This is by far my most favourite game i have played yet from LD27. Excellent interpretation, superb execution. Design is elegant and applied well. Layout, style, theme feel... You have nailed it. I am very impressed. :)
nice entry, good style and I like the mechanic. Great work.
Tricky but fun. Good work!
great, solid and original. Reminds me of games like "hundreds". when I first started I thought I had to collect the dots instead of avoid but soon picked it up. great game.
Fun little runner here. nicely done. I think the slow movement getting started isn't enough to make you feel punished, it just feels frustrating when you need to start up again. like paying for something after you have been given it ;) Still, nice graphics and a great game. good work
I played a few times and it got better each time. I reccomend everyone give it a few tries as on first attempt it is quite hard to realise the goal. collect everything at the beggining too! :) Great idea, superb atmosphere. My kinda game!
Have played this game probably more than any other LD game. It has just the right balance of difficulty and intrigue. First few attempts were fails and then once I found the watch I was hooked. really great work. As someone who wishes they put a retry option in their game earlier, I thank you for the checkpoint at the watch! great stuff, you should be proud.
Great idea, fast and drops the player into the action. Suits the theme of the game too, like waking up in space. Only negative is that when i completed it, i didnt know i had done it. Great work though!
Really like the music and the concept of a shadow ship copying my last 10 seconds of moves - was interesting trying to cover as much of the screen as possible knowing that :) Good work!
Nice little game here. Simple to understand, hard to master! the best combination! :)
Same here, looks interesting but the link doesnt work. Would love to play it though.
Thank you archaeometrician! I am actually fairly terrible at art so was please it was at least legible.. ;)
Thanks jay! :) I appreciate it.
@crossbread Thanks! yeah, collision in game maker is a tricky one. Coundn't quite get a "slide" instead of a bounce working on the collision.
@VanderZwan, I will take a look. Sorry about that! and thanks, most of the sound was done in the last hour at 1am! ;)
@annaGavaldaKedavra - yeah, I had planned to add a restart level on the game over, but it broke all my game logic so i need to spend some time fixing it. Couldnt get it in for the 48hr deadline. It is on my to do list tho so thanks for the feedback! :D
@colapsydo Heh, thanks! yeah the 1 frame animation makes the punching seem really vicious and comedy fun! :D
@yetatore - Thank you! :) I will try the link again tonight. I added a 3 retry system, new audio, polished the collision and made more of the ending.. but that was obviously after the deadline so cannot be submitted :)
@Kragnir - Thanks! The last room was designed to make the player panic before the ending is revealed. Not sure if it works ;)
@netmute - Sorry! I have no ability to export to mac and only have a laptop. best I can offer is a link to a playthrough - http://youtu.be/S08RRhX_sSo
well vani77a... that appears to be a bug. sometimes they do adn you die straight up. other times not... a bit of randomness there i guess ;)
@Starspell - Thanks! :) I think that was actually my downfall in the end as i found it easy to make levels quickly so didnt concentrate on them enough. Guildford is my home town! :D
@tammiLion, Yeah as Catmoo says, there are some windows 8 machines with 4400 series that wont run game maker games :(
@Just Tom - glad i can entertain and amuse! thank you for your kind comments.
@doonay21 - Thanks! everyone seems impressed with the graphics so i had better take it as a compliment. :D
@catmoo - thanks for the info and sharing!
@ZeroKelvin - totally agree with the continue/restart. I have added one since but obviously cannot submit it for the entry :)
HaloFlooder - Thank you! It is also used later in the game when you get a weapon that fires ten seconds at the enemies... the Ten.. Sec... Wep... ;)
@Reheated - Thank you. I would have liked to balance it a bit more but the time crept up on me.
Thanks @hbocao! I will keep trying! :)
It was an interesting idea - albeit one i think would have a better life on an touchscreen where you feel more like you are interacting with the tilting of the character. If the physics had a bit of re-work though it would make for a much smoother more enjoyable experience. Great idea tho and good job!
404 - game not found
Got stuck on third level but nice idea. It seems to fail on the end room so that I need to exit the app and restart to try again. Good idea though.
A little too tricky to be fun but appreciate what you were going for. Good work
I like the humour on the instructions but there is no real way to die in the game so there feels like no challenge. The randomness of the spawning makes it a bit repetitive. the use of ten seconds as a theme was not really apparent. Good work though, nice choice of ship graphics.
great work. really enjoyed this one.
found it very hard to kill the enemies, would have liked more power in the shot. in any case, a nice little game. well done! :)
agree with awppy, keyboard panning would have ruled! :) still a great game though. good work
Ok, This is genius! I laughed so much playing it. Love the idea, love the style and everything! I would give it 5/5 overall but it needs in game instructions and I couldnt seem to do anything once I had picked up the objects. I can collect things, but not sure how to interact after that. Still, incredible work!
Beautiful game. Some great work here. Visually breathtaking for 72hours, the atmosphere, feel and everything are astounding. great work!
Great little game! Love the style and feel. Superb work!
Newgrounds link wouldnt load the game and the windows link is broken. Please fix as i would love to take a look at this one! :)
Got it finally! :) played through and complete. Good fun and nice change of perspective. well done!
Great little game here. A restart option would have been great and I love the graphics! :D
no link? was this not finished? an update would be good to find out what happened.
thanks
A nice little idea here. The collision is a little unforgiving but scratch can be that way ;) Nice execution and superb music!
Great idea, nice and compact. Reminded me of "typing of the dead" but done better ;)
felt great to play, looks nice and is a solid game idea. Frustrated a little that you could only fire once before needing a pickup and the music was a bit much! Other than that, great work. Very impressed and well done :)
hit detection on the jar is too tricky and makes it more frustrating than fun. Great idea though and good humour!
Nice little idea here. Ball bounces a little too much making it unforgiving at the start BUT it has that "one more go" appeal that makes you try again. Well done :)
Thought this was excellent. Loved the art style and it was just generally a really fun game to play.
Trying to play PC version, game loads to title screen fine, but pressing any button (using xbox pad) results in the window closing itself...would love to give this a go as it seems an interesting game!
Love the intro, good atmosphere and art style.
very smooth feeling game. Nice work!
I LOVE this intro! really great and totally sets the mood. V Impressed!
stuck at first but realised why. on first glance, the image of the warrior is the most prominent and I was wondering how to get him onto the track. on retry I realised he was hud! :)
glad I stuck with it as there is a lot of fun to be had here. great stuff!
a great little game with a nice solid concept.
Nice work! I appreciate pad support!
good idea, well executed. I agree that the dialogue needed to be faster or at least skippable. good work though! well done.
Clean art style, nice approach to the design and fun gameplay! good work :)
I am glad that space is also jump as S and Z are a little tricky to master. Good work though, nice idea. changing characters works well and the tune is nice :)

great art effects, tone and mood. Nailed it. very enjoyable.
This game gets top marks for me all round. except maybe humor ;) really great atmosphere and feel. so impressed right now. great work
out of all the LD entries I have played I keep coming back to this one. Is the main character the god? is he visiting the god? is the god the thing at the end? if the main character IS the god, is he returning home? from where?... I don't want any of these answered but that is what I have been thinking about. :) great work.
Love the style of this. My wife also played it through and she absolutely loved it. here are her comments - "This was a very well thought out experience. The music was wonderful and I loved reading the story that guided me through. It reminds me a lot of playable mini games in JRPGs, that give you some perspective into a character that you encounter. A great effort. Well done :)"
Fantastic. Tone, style, graphics, audio. Superb. One of the best entries I have seen, not just this year, but for the last four. Great work. Very much enjoyed this.
I agree with the comments on tricky movement but the game is really nice to look at :) great work. I see from your comments that you ran out of time for sound. I think this game is worth spending the time to add a bit of sound "post event" for completion and sharing.
Top marks for fun, theme and innovation. Just really great fun. Love what you have done here
I was abandoned!!! but nice game :)
Great work. Simple approach, nice visuals but top marks for audio. Makes the game for me :)
I totally think the music and the audio made this. I am really impressed. Played it a couple of times as I wanted to know if the helicopters were good or bad (killed them all on the first run!) Love the scale, atmosphere and tone. Great work.
great and difficult. Love the feel and tone too. good work.
I really enjoyed this! I played several times before realising I could make babies with the yellow fish! I thought all bigger fish would kill me. then I bumped into one of them and made LOADS of babies! I got much better at it by using BOTH mouse and keys... extra speed! :D final score, 40 days, 72 babies, 1534 grammes of food and 14 scrapes with death :D
Good mood and tone. Fun to experience
Short but sweet :) fun little game here!
excellent and addictive. I also appreciate the leader-board. great stuff.
ah... wrong window! ignore my last!
Can't get it working even with java update. Video looks great though, thanks for sharing :)
This is superb work! I really laughed so much when they started to whisper to each other. I think you have done a great job with this, well done. I am a great archaeologist by the way! ;)
had fun with this. Nice execution. good work.
really enjoyed this. good work.
the start is too frustrating and slow. I think if the cost of digging one square was less than a whole bar, it would be a bit more balanced. A few tweaks here and there and a smoother start game though and it would be great fun.
I drew the characters and objects by hand/mouse in photoshop. The floor textures, I took photos of the ground around my house and applied filters to make them look cartoony :) Thanks for the feedback though! I perhaps need to make the splash screen more obvious...
Thanks Zolkren and MSaul :)
Fixed a crash late last night and re-uploaded it... I appear to have the settings on google docs to private though... have added the original for the moment until I can get to address it.
Thanks for the detailed feedback SuperIzzo, yes I wasnt clear enough communicating the bar info... the red one is negativity and the green one is positivity. The aim of the game is to convert the bad into good by focussing on tasks and there is always tea to support you. Kicking the ball helps too. Not many people have managed to complete it and get the "good ending" but there are actually four endings to the game! :D Thanks for the heads up hexagore, I think I have managed to locate the bug now. will take a look at a fix tonight. and thanks tripleVisionGames! I had fun making it :)
Thanks Thorig, eteeski and Lucariatias too! :D
Thanks Crazi456, Cheesepencil and Ragzouken! I have had very few people complete the game so I think I made the timers a little too hard. And thanks for the kind art comments. I kinda just throw the art together so it is cool to get some appreciation for it. :)
Thanks DrPrettyPatty! and totally agree on the collision detection. I have never quite managed to get gamemakers collision to feel right on a top down game. One day though... ;)
Nice audio and approach to the design of puzzles. as others have mentioned, sluggish changing characters :) good work though!
I like to controls and the art is great! well done.
Smooth and fun to play. Tricky to master! great work.
Nice style, jump was very strong for the level size and there is a pit that you get stuck in if you fall into it early on. Can I ask why you chose to put the run command on "E"? it seemed a strange choice with A and Z so close. Great visual design though! well done.
can't get it to run. would like to play it though.
death hitting the walls was pretty punishing but I did like it. :)
LOVED THIS GAME
Got stuck playing it for ages. I actually had to stop myself and move onto the other games. Would be so great to see more levels!!! Music was great - art was great, game play was top notch. Really excellent work.
really impressed with the scale of this! I thought it might just be a shooter from the screen shot but was pleasantly surprised. love the audio too! :D
This is just pure fun. I wanted to give this a chance and I was really glad I did! I thought the gameplay was really solid. The levels got harder to collect everything and I was sad that the game started to repeat itself as I wanted to catch that evil Clipton! - nice work.
smooth motion and mechanics mechanics, didn't realise for a long time that there was a spread shot on right click (which was really quite fun). Pretty fun little game.
Had a lot of fun with this. Nice approach to graphics, audio and pace. good work
Like the creator but it didn't seem to affect the character I played as? Nice work though.
Hi, would like to play this but the windows.exe crashes on open. Are you able to fix this?
I was going to mention windwaker... but everyone else already did. Instead I will just say I played this a lot and had great fun with it. You have done well to make such a great looking and fun playing game in such short time. Well done!
97.832!!! Got on a roll there! Fun game - could be very addictive
Love the music. At first I thought the white spikes were colletibles! then died. fast learner! I liked the addition of the red bouncy blocks. Only negative is that it would be great to restart from the "level" I got to :) good work!
Nice idea, I like the lag in control as it adds to the water feel. good work!
has that "just one more go!" feel to it. Good work!
great humour and mood. really enjoyed this.
@xopsx here! ;) Nice concept and decent mechanics. I was very confused at the rules as I Started playing with the mouse. If you hold the mouse on left or right, it updates so fast that it moves you down as well as left or right. I started thinking "right one means down one too.. unless.... wait!?" but when I discovered that and switched to keys it was awesome :) add a bit of music and you got a solid game there.
This is the first game I am giving full marks across the board. Seriously enjoyed this one. Great use of audio, visuals concept the lot. Approach to the theme is excellent. Well done. Going to tweet this one :)
Smooth movement and a fun little game. Good work. Have you thought about adding a menu screen post competition for completion's sake?
Had fun with this game until I got stuck. Hit a wall and couldn't seem to get past it. I would love to spend the time mastering this so will come back to it once I played some of the many other LD entries! Great execution though and looks awesome.
nice point and click adventure. What was in there was great. I agree that some audio could really have helped with the atmosphere of this game. All in all a fun point and click game.
Great work all round on this one. Really appreciate the quick restart and addictive nature. Great visuals and sound, top fun from me!
I agree on the too many controls comment by Atesh but it was good fun :) the 1 2 3 4 assignment was a bit tricky as I am on a laptop with no numpad but I do like the idea.
another great game :D excellent work! I lasted 9 years! I lived to a ripe old age and I did ok I guess ;) I liked the space bus. I wanted to save up for the train but I accidentally bought chicken when trying to pickup a tool :D
good fun and addictive :) excellent work
heheh, I loved the gangster sounding one dropping off a package that they aint payin for! :D great stuff
MAAAAN that was tricky. The reversing controls at the centre of the spin is a really tricky thing to master but I would put the time in for a longer version. Good work.
Great concept! The text was skipping very quickly and I would have liked to read the messages between worlds but otherwise, great work. Also, add a game over screen! ;)
Thanks! Yes the number entry was the skill part. I wanted the feeling of the old phone and when I tried moving the numbers too, it became too easy ;)
Thanks for the feedback' I am heading over to your game shortly.
Thanks ZBGE! :) the sound was mostly just for atmosphere and flavour so the game is still playable without understanding it all. Thanks for the feedback tho, yes it was a big undertaking to create it all but I scraped it all together in the last minutes :D
thanks xandy :)
Hey Andro. No. No it isn't. Ormington Chomost is a fictional location that my sister and I came up with many years ago. :)
and hey Cptalbertwesker, thanks for the feedback!
+1 to the request for hold and shoot! I came back to check your entry after "our god lives underground" stuck with me for so long. I like this one too and you have a great way of bringing out atmosphere with audio and misting effects. another great game. :)
Really like the execution on this one. Good work!
"seal the deal" Something very futurama about this :) I like the movement and theme but could have done with more clues on what to offer! :D good work though
looks interesting but can't play it. On windows and trying to use keys.
"The winner is left player" I love that :D Excellent anims, rock hard AI, but I enjoyed running away and taking a kicking!
love the movement on the bike and the music. Died twice but came back to finish it. I expected impact damage from the spiky enemies though. good work!
great game and simple and fun :) I think a red bar at the bottom allowing the player to know when they are in danger would help. great audio too!
no way to play this for me unfortunately BUT the video looks great and thanks for uploading it. I love the music and the game looks fun.
great game. all about the level design. Excellent stuff
This is really polished and great audio. Well done. Would give this a lot more time if I didnt have other entries to play. Bookmarking!
hard controls but great concept. intro description helps :) good work
I like the style and presentation of this game. I got the good ending! :)
I get "java is not recognized" when I run the file. Shame as this looks fun.
awesome idea and sound :) good work
Great solid design skills here. I really appreciate the thought of the puzzles. A bit of audio and you have a great game here!
Good little idea here BUT I I spotted the Bomberman gameboy icons on the first screen. Easy to recreate too, so no need to steal ;) Good entry though.
Well done for finishing! :D I remember my first and it is a great feeling of accomplishment. Great work! and don't be too hard on yourself, it looks great.
very original style and approach. I really liked it :)
I actually left this running and switched between the other entries I am playing and keep coming back to it. good work
Really enjoyed the feel of this one. only crit is the stairs at the first room required a jump to get up. Loved the portal/stargate approach. great work!
really nice and twitchy controls, I appreciate that :) tough to master and could benefit from a graphic showing the controls. But I really enjoyed it! Good work!
Great entry and nice idea. I would have tweaked one thing... a short period of invulnerability when hit. I lost 6 lives in one go and that was pretty punishing! Awesome implementation though. Love the circling nature. very fun to play
this is excellent, top marks all round on this one. Fun to play, great audio, strong concept, addictive gameplay. Superb work. Trophies awarded! :)
heheh, this made me chuckle. A nice idea and well implemented. Good job.
I enjoyed this :) Although I am such a meanie! :D I didnt manage to get on the third monitor without getting caught... the mom on the screen seems to head straight for me and I cant evade. Good fun tho! "awww maaan!" :D
Great work on this. Simple style but so much atmosphere. excellent implementation.
I have latest Java and 64b windows... not running tho. Would like to play this though!
I got it to work! very ambitious in the time and well delivered. I updated Java and my graphics drivers. :) all good!
Bumpy and bouncy! but great for 48 hrs. Good work!
heheh, I really enjoyed this! It was tense with that final countdown. Is it possible to save the world?
Also, on the HTML version the countdown goes into minus figures :)
Great entry! moving the sheep was tricky at first but after a few minutes, it became great! like playing with the sensitivity too high, adjust and you can be better at the game! :) very enjoyable!
Interesting idea, I love the shadow on the remote and the 3d movement on it. I think it would have been cooler if the images for the screen had been your own and not snapshots from films :) good entry though!
Audio is actually pretty good. Love the presentation and style. Needs a bit of work on player feedback as I couldn't tell when I was successful for the first 3-5 tries. good job tho!
I was hoping the upgrades would do more. Could benefit from a little more balancing as even tho I spent all I had and took minimal damage, those "V" shaped wheelie enemies swarmed me and killed me very quickly. Good idea tho and feels nice to play.
Nice little game here. Death doesn't seem to cost me anything so I just ran into everything as I spawned at the last gem each time. A mute button for the music was much appreciated!
Tried to play game but it minimises the window straight away. wont run at all
solid game here. Really enjoyed it. you have a strong tone and atmosphere with supporting audio and gameplay that suits the theme. well done.
good sounds and visuals, solid core concept. Good work!
Thanks for playing! The game was meant as a "slow discovery" type affair.. but I think I will edit the description to include hints :)
Thanks Mossy Frog! :)
Random Abductions - Don't touch the moon! look elsewhere in the scene
Andysolace - Thanks for playing! did you find any souls?
Resty - Thanks!
Wilson - thank you :) The original concept was that all the planetary bodies in each scene would reset the game. I think it is too punishing too early though...
Thanks Techblogogy!
Thanks alpha rat and Elliottd! yeah, the plane thing was tricky. I wanted to make a game where there was no clicking, just guiding and revealing with the mouse :) tricky but kinda interesting.
Thanks Andrea! the moon thing seems to be hit and miss. Some people like, others have asked me to remove it! The way i see it, if there isn't winning and losing its sometimes tough to justify that it is a game :)
Thanks Pete!
and Johnbrynte, yeah! I made a few entries that were mostly "experience" games and I got met with a lot of "that's not a real game" comments. I didn't want to bring up the "dear esther" argument again! I love those sorts of experiences tho. who cares if they are a "game" or not!? ;)
Sorry Fanttum, I have no mac and gamemaker will not let me export a mac version without one. :(
Thanks Ryguy and Davient! People seem to really love crashing that plane...
Hi Acerunox, thx for the feedback. There is a bug that loops the SFX so that they play over each other and the sounds get REALLY loud! Would fix it but it would involve a lot of change to data and that I think it outside the rules of the 48hrs :) glad you enjoyed it tho! and Thanks Legiion! :)
Thank you URbanLogic! Appreciate the feedback :)
Just for you Jupiter_Hadley https://twitter.com/xopsx/status/542421875133935618/photo/1
Thanks for all the feedback Recursiveanomaly! :)
Okkolobr and Slothmachine, glad you enjoyed it! :)
Thanks danidre! :)
Thank you 01rafael :) Lots of great feedback on the game. Seems like it may have been a little too long for the Jam though as lots of people stopped playing on the second or third transition. Oh well, as long as they had fun! :D
Spent a lot more time on this than I should... Great work! actually, I am going to confess here, I am leaving it running whilst I rate other games :D I am on 0000...0028% at the moment and aiming for ALL THE SCIENCE! with a bit of audio clicking and a nice subtle soundscape song over it, this would be incredible. Still amazing though. great execution
Great fun although a couple of bits of feedback
IF you make pressing Shift the "fire" key, it will trigger the windows shortcut for sticky keys... when that happens you have a multi window control conflict which is tricky!
it is possible to block your progression with the snowballs.. but also exploit them by putting them on spikes.
Despite this... I really enjoyed your game! I am glad the theme wasn't snowman tho ;)
Great little game here. did it twice and then decided to stop :) good work though! Nice execution
Loved this. Great fun, nice idea, well implemented. Excellent work!
I like this quite a bit but there are parts that are unforgiving and a little broken. First thing I was start a level that I couldn't complete and then couldn't leave. Started again tho and had more fun :)
brutally hard unless I am missing something. never managed so stay alive for more than 15 seconds!
really good fun. Nice execution although I think it might have been smoother to have a single fire button and just allow the player to fire in their facing direction. Hold fire to strafe etc. Excellent entry tho, well done.
Concise and complete! good work. I enjoyed this.
29900! Great fun! :) good work. Nice simple implementation
Can't get this to run. Debug file doesnt recognise "java" as a command and the JAR wont run. :(
Ok, I am a step further.. I uninstalled and re-installed Java and I can now get it to start!... but after the loading bar, the window closes and nothing happens. Sorry for all the problems! :/
Crashes on boot for me with a black screen :(
Good work here. Love the style and the visuals. Text is too small to read on the objects. Tune is a bit intrusive and repetitive but overall a good entry. Nice work.
This is a mixed game for me... I love the style and the controls, it is addictive and fun BUT the audio is so intrusive that it stopped me playing. Turned the sound off and earned $50 tho :) good execution on the gameplay.
It is pretty normal to speed up a game after a certain score... BUT when you take damage and lose score and it drops below 200, the game slows back down again FYI
also... Where do all the bananas and tomatoes keep coming from?!?! ;)
Really enjoyed this! Took me two goes but I got it! Made the call at 3 hours the first time. a nice idea and well executed
SUPERB! I mean it! for simple graphics and audio you have achieved a lot! I thought there was only one monster after playing and dying 3 times... then I managed to evade her and BOOM! three more in front of me! (I am not sure why I think the enemies are "her"? maybe it is because she says "sweetie?" and I am playing a guy...) Excellent use of audio. The way the phone gets louder as you get closer is very well done. I enjoyed this a lot so good job!
Great work. I enjoyed this a lot. I am glad you provided a mute button as the music got a bit much. Outstanding presentation and game design though. superb!
Excellent entry! really like the style and sounds in this. Superb work.
On PC and the game wont start. Program non responsive
A really like the style of this one but it does need audio. a few blips and boops can make all the difference :) good job tho!
Dont seem to be able to play this one. The windows link also takes you to the web version. is there and exe download anywhere?
Very slick game. good work. I really enjoyed this. I think the exploit where you can teleport out needs addressing post-jam tho ;)
Great work here. The thing that makes it special are the ricochets! It stops you blindly firing at the enemies and also the way they "turn to face" helps develop that gameplay. Really solid game idea with great music! Well done
This is really similar to another entry I have played called "the room" - http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=8002 But both are different and good fun. Well done :)
Couldnt quite understand the cost for each tower, but a nice idea!
I like it when a game does something unexpected. At first I didn't think much but as it sped up and when I hit 42 presents collected I was pleasantly surprised at the turn it took! :) a good entry, well done.
Got it workign on my Wife's machnine. I really like the concept of typing into the machine to get the upgrades... however, it was frustrating to type "LONGJUMP" so many times after failing the jump again and again. A great idea tho. impressed.
Really like the design on this one, it is similar to "you have the con" HERE - http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=32648 But different in many ways. I think some audio would help and a bit of balancing but great work nonetheless.
Crazy and fun. Can't quit figure it out tho but a nice idea :) good work!
I cant play this. I got a Java Exception error when running as MegaMasterX above says. Would like to give it a go tho, looks interesting.
I quite like this. It reminds me of an old board game called "Buccaneer" we used to play as kids. I think it is a little too random but a good core concept/. Nice work!
Great work. Love the style and tone. Awesome.
Nice concept and good first jam! It was easy to win if I hid by the buttons though! :)
This is a great concise entry! well done! I love how it ticked so many boxes! Female lead, crafting system, hiding in lockers, Key Cards, Powering up terminals, avoiding killer robots... reminds me of another game I know ;) Excellent work tho. I enjoyed this a lot, well done.
Agree with Spacedoubt below, harsh on the yes but I do like it! Maybe pastel colours next time?;) a great design though. I got to 4 a couple of times before getting stuck. Strong concept. good work.
I love this. Excellent use of the theme, I Played till the end and got all 25 items, 3 keys and the red box! :D
I think the implementation is perfect. You have kept to the basics to convey your key mechanic and it has worked. The best part is, the xray phone view allows for more complex maze design as it acts as a compass of sorts so that you don't get too lost. outstanding work!
The audio nails this! Simple upgrades and good fun! :) well done
21 NEW HIGH SCORE!... although this may have been because I glitched it. If you die after collecting a torch, it stays on indefinitely in the next game... until you collect another powerup.. doh! I liked the way the that holding space made the timer go faster but it wasn't immediately obvious. Add some audio next time! Great little addictive game and superb as a first entry!
Excellent application of the theme! a little tricky to play but a good concept.
There are a lot of similar games to this on this LD but the control and approach on this one is very cool. I liked the clock to move and shoot better than the twin stick approach of other games. Could have used more enemies and variation BUT a very decent effort. good job!
Good entry here. Nice use of the theme and well presented. good work! (I didn't beat it but I had fun!)
Full res, this game is very brave! :) hurt my eyes but I gave it a go. Love the audio!
Thank you for posting though. I know you didn't finish but I am glad you did. your concept looks like it could be good fun. There is always next time! :)
Excellent work. Appeals to the OCD nature in people. Superb sounds and good feel to the game. Nice work!
More player feedback needed so you can help them understand what their controls are doing. Cool audio tho!
Love the character and the style. Game is a little confusing but I managed to find the right portal and escape! :) Bonus points for using Game Maker too!
Excellent work. This is placing in my top 10 entries so far! :) great job. Add a splash screen with that art from twitter and you have yourself a hit! Top marks for mood and audio from me. It would be great to have an option to turn off the grid too.
even basic audio would make a difference ;) but a fun little game. Reminds me of "football pete" if you ever played that?
Ok, this is a good one. Love the tone and atmosphere. Audio was great and that adds a lot to a game. Very well done. I found 1/5 items, but I have saved this to go back and play more. I want to give this one more time. Good work!
Excellent work here. "actually I would love to read" killed me :) great stuff. Shows how good use of audio adds so much life to a game.
Its the little touches that make this game good. I love the attention to the detail of the room names and also the audio track is great. I did actually enjoy evading all the monsters so it was good fun :)
It was compelling and tricky to play so that kept me going. I didn't manage to finish it thought. Great visuals and audio!
Excellent. Top marks from me on this. Tone, atmosphere, the lot!
LOVE a good stealth-em-up! :) Great little game here. I will come back to this and try to finish it. Got two artifacts in the second level when I stopped. LOVE the bar on the guys backpack and the level design. Great stuff!
Can't tell you how much this made me laugh. Excellent dialogue, love the gameplay and atmosphere. You guys nailed this.
I agree with the above comments. The perspective made the jumps harder than they needed to be and the depth of field blur around the screen made it a bit worse... however.. the game is great. I played to the end and really enjoyed it. Using the lollipop on walls to jump is a nice and original mechanic. It was a delight to discover that. Superb work. Plus bonus points for a random basketball bit :D
I Realyl liek this! Solid mechanic and good implementation. Also as a compo entry this is very polished. Great work!
Great Fun! :D I like the sneezing on people and touching them and their reactions are great :D
Love the teleport mechanic and the graphics had a moody style :) good work.
I like the idea! I know the final product isn't what you hoped but I like the concept and the end result is also fun to play :) good work.
This game is great. It was one of the few games that made me play to the end. The subject matter and style are great, but this game has one special thing... Compulsion. I really wanted to keep going and win all the trophies. The unlock curve of the levelling is well balanced and it just works. Humans just love to see bars fill and get cash! reminds me of "Galaxia" in that way - http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=22521 Kudos :)
A little too tricky in the controls but I thought it was a nice idea. It also crashed when I used the power. Nice entry though so good work!
Full marks, I stuck with this till level 25 when I got to the end of the route carefully and then kicked to rock off... I will come back and finish this though. Great entry.
Man that is hard! but good work :) I love the writing and voice acting!
I get the metaphor of advergames as a weapon. but as an advergame that had no gameplay, this was more an advert. Nice flow tho ;)
Movement is really slow. I pressed two of the red buttons and laughed :) Could do with a tad more audio but a good effort.
Love the idea and the presentation but it is a little frustrating to operate. Making the spells case sensitive makes it harder too. Tweets to @redwizard only work if they are to @RedWizard etc. Great concept though
Nice idea! A little hard to control and it is frustrating that the "net" turns your ship, but a good entry.
Great visuals and mood! love the audio and feel of the power ups. but yes. a tad too easy ;)
Ah! I see the crash! taking a look now. :)
Found it. Fix incoming! In your screen shot you can actually see the error too! it was a 2am capslock fail... it should have said "fakepow" instead of "fakePOW" - Fixed now :)
FIXED THE ERROR EVERYONE :D thank you for your help. New version is available and I have updated the link. Thanks for persevering! :)
Ah! just fixed the errors on the buttons for AFTER the earth being destroyed :) same issue, 2am Typos!!! version 3 ready now
Thanks esayitch, Handkor and edve98! And yes Xaychru, I just found that crash and fixed it. Version 4 uploading now :) Glad you all enjoyed it though.
aaah yes, you CAN skip the cut scenes... I didnt manage to include that as an instruction with no time left. Space Bar skips :) I will add that to the text above. Thank you Ranmara!
heheh, Well Peterfsat, Pikmin4000 answered this for me! :) My original thinking was the "Enigma" machine from WW2 and code breaking. In this game the machine decodes the Aliens intentions, and you have to get probes close to find out what they want. SO both the method and the final weapons are unconventional! :)
Thanks everyone for the comments on the game :) Really glad most people had a great time and quite happy with the end result.
good idea and nice execution. Took a few mins to get it but its great.
Nice spread of powers, trickery to pick up at first but a great entry
High marks for this one :D A bit random on the construction but really good fun to watch. Some minor control over the character would be great. Excellent work
Great game! with a few great looking graphics you have made a very playable shooter. Good work!
High marks from me for this one. Great mood and awesome story! Also love the humor and bonus points for the Jupi mention!
Nice style... strangely familiar of something ;)
Great visuals and solid idea. Would have liked pad controls but you were on the clock :) good work.
It feels a little like a gameplay test area but the animation and concept is nice. Would like to see this developed further.
HARD! but good fun. I like bombing stuff with eggs :)
Really very good fun. Although the choice of collecting stars threw me off. I thought they were spikes and I was avoiding them! Great game though.
I really like this. Excellent mood and visuals. Well done
Would love to play this but it will not progress past the "enter" screen.
Great graphics and mood. One thing though, right mouse button brings up a settings menu in most browsers so "Dash" wont work. I Struggled getting a wall jump to work too. Great presentation though. Impressed.
An interesting entry! Played this on a DK2 and it was quite intriguing. I haven't seen this type of control used yet and it was a worthwhile experiment. Good work!
Great idea but far too punishing/time consuming for those who want to experiment. Take a page from the "PT Demo" and only restart the same room again instead of the beginning. Great execution though.
Couldn't get this to run. Exe did not respond after double clicking? on windows 7.
Good mood and nice gameplay. Good job!
Great idea, like the Wes Anderson reference and good level design. I wholly approve!
simple but fun game. Good job.
Great entry here. I played it on a DK2 and I had an issue that each time I "threw the heart" the camera would pop a few degrees to the left or right. Restarted and re-calibrated and got the same. Still, didn't make it unplayable and it was good fun :)
Hey, this game is fun and easy to pla- STAGE THREE!!!!
hehe, tough spike at three but a great game :)
A nice idea and I love the music. Good work!
Solid entry. Great work.
Kinda tricky to play this on Win PC BUT it is a nice game. Great visuals.
Great looking game that plays well. Couldnt get the siege mech up the stairs tho! Good fun with the rest and I like that the flying one has the readout of fuel on the arms. Excellent.
THIS, now THIS is great. the music is perfect for the game. I completed the first battleship and I WILL return to do the harder one. Great work.
I played to the end! I tried to play it in the window above but by using arrow keys, it moves the screen up and down which makes it unplayable. Luckily I went to the web link too and it works better there. Nice story!
Really tricky to master but with some time, could be a great multi player battler. good work!
I like this! Its a kinda abstract floating road in space survival nightmare! :) a little basic gameplay wise as you can stand in a line and kill them without any danger but the music is terrifying!
nice visuals and good humor. I like that she is armed! random :)
Nice audio and good clean fun!
Great concept and well executed. Really enjoyed this one.
I nice concept but as you say, you ran out of time. I like the little cube grass tho :D
Great great great! Really enjoyed playing this. Absolutely solid entry. Well done!
The music was great and the visuals strong but the slow turn made it less fun than it could feel. Great concept and entry though. Well done.
EXCELLENT too much fun :)
Great work again from the Master of Game Maker... Loved the style and the gameplay. Lovely entry!
Question - How do you make a game like this if you were to only use "Drag and Drop" ;) - A fan
Nice idea but I didnt manage to complete it/win. I like light/dark gameplay too :)
Great fun and a nice mechanic with the altering wave. Good implementation and I lasted 179 seconds in endless mode! :)
nice mechanic and fun idea. fun to play and well put together.
Liked the art, but found the game a little strange to play. Great little characters though! :D
I Am about to download your game but I am not sure if it is the right one? the link takes me to a google docs folder with some exe's called "toothpick knight"... same game?
Got it, great fun :) Love the lighting and mood. Good audio use too. I got past the castle and then died at the long line of bad guys. couldnt get past them. Great entry though!
A fun little game but it would have been nice to get some audio and a bit more completion. Nice idea though.
I really like rhythm and timing game so this appeals. Good work.
Superb stuff. Polished and well presented, great audio work. Well done.
Got to the red core, killed a bunch of red guys and then suddenly on my way to the next area I was killed when an enemy spawned in front of me. A little too punishing for the player. Nice idea for the color tho. It is like "Ikaruga" but first person :)
Great graphics and solid audio. It says on the game that the audio is by @qrchack? if that isn't you then this should really be a Jam instead of a Compo entry. Nice concept though.
This is absolutely solid. I love it. Games that educate are such a great thing. Well done.
Really tricky and randomly punishing but that totally suits the mood. Great work!
Tricky to control and frames out a bit but strong visuals. Good work.
Great entry, tricky but fun :)
Excellent. Writing, humor, tone, gameplay. Love it. Great work
good solid little game here. Add pad support and you are onto a winner. For a similar idea, check out "Flail Rider" - http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=40591
Map was too big and I didn't manage to find all the ghost. Great polish and quality for a ludum dare game though. Excellent!
Great design and nice execution. Would have loved more levels but what you made was great!
Really hard to play but nice visuals.
Had fun with this :) couldn't complete it though, kept getting heard or spotted and I am not sure by what. Good entry though.
Good fun! :) Like the style and the minimalist audio. Good work.
Fun little game, a bit too easy and no difficulty curve but well presented.
Really enjoyed playing this. Has that "One more go" appeal. Excellent Audio too. Made me chuckle a lot.
you know... when it started I thought it was a nice idea, but the more I played and the more the music built up, the more I REALLY enjoyed it! There are some surprising tactics when you move around and trap the other red blobs... so I kept going and I did it! Take that spaceman! :D Love the music :) perfect for the mood. a FIRST ENTRY? excellent job.
REALLY liked this. Excellent concept. Reminds me of back to the future when Doc Brown says "..so I took their plutonium and, in turn, gave them a shoddy bomb casing full of used pinball machine parts!" Excellent stuff
full marks! I love this! So much fun! Yes you can spam the attacks but it is SO much fun to do it with the music. If I were to change one thing, I would make the tings only count on the beat... but that would make it too hardcore :) GREAT ENTRY!
had that "one more try" thing about it. Good work!
I liked being a cat, and the humour made me laugh. Why is this 338MB? but good :)
really tricky to begin with but totally great fun. Really enjoyed this and love the audio too. Great work!
9/9! :) glad I pushed on. Great idea and I like the style a lot. Can the voice be optional?
VERY hard but a good fun game :)
Short but sweet. I like the visuals :)
Great entry here. Vimpressed. I really enjoyed playing it and I like the style and feel of the game. Well done
Great visuals :) and agree with the comment above. Winning or losing is a bit random as the aiming is not always right :)
I am giving this top marks for innovation and fun. The more games evolve the more games like this that require more dexterity and control will become popular. I like those videos of people playing two shooters at the same time and this is almost that in a game. Good job.
Keyboard warrior! ;) a little tricky and the attack is slow but nice idea.
No audio and it took me a few goes to figure it out but it is a fun game :) I like throwing the Bricks the most.
Got stuck on the lava slope but very good fun!
Is there a standalone version? the game is interesting but nearly unplayable when space is the jump button. It scrolls the page to the bottom and the game disappears. I tried on IE, chrome and Firefox but it is all the same. Nice visuals and idea.
Great graphics and presentation. A little too text heavy at the beginning and even after reading it all, I was confused. hard to pick up but once you "Get it" it is good fun. Great work.
Great visuals and I had a LOT of fun playing with this.
Nice Entry. I liked the mechanic but felt the play space a bit claustrophobic for the game. Bit more room/more area would improve it I think. Good game though.
Great concept and well executed. Agree with a lot of the comments. A greater reward for longer words would be great and also no re-use on restart is a bit too punishing but I can understand why you kept it like that :) good work.
Really got this. Great tone and atmosphere. Nice presentation and strong message. Well done.
very hard to master and it is down to a couple of things. with pad controls, shooting directly down, makes you go slightly left or right. With a precision jumper like this, that is a bit of an issue. the second is that there is no traditional "air control" in the movement. hard to adjust once committed. I gave up after the second collection BUT I will come back to it as it was good fun and well presented. audio gets a bit much tho ;) great work overall.
Great tone and atmosphere. Would have loved some audio. That roof jump is far too tricky when you hit it and I nearly gave up BUT I am glad I didn't as I really enjoyed the rest of the game. Good job.
fun to throw the cards and nice mechanic.
Lovely visuals and I agree with the comments about the pop ups. they do confuse the game a little. Nice work though :D
This is a great presentation :) Really enjoyed it AND I got to quietly overthrow the king. Great writing too. Very enjoyable.
Doesn't fit the theme at all unless I am missing some twist in the end game? ;) Nice concept though.
I really like the tone and atmosphere in this entry. Audio is great, reminds me of the signal in the film "mission to mars". Would have liked more of a conclusion or end event but great work nonetheless
Really enjoyed this! I loved collecting the different evolution forms! although I couldn't get the one with the horns... tried a few times. Collected everything but though! Great work
Another great entry! :) good stuff.
...For those who are saying the theme is "you are the monster..." if you get to the end screen, it explains that! ;)
Destroying so many building makes YOU the monster...
Tlansdale! You MONSTER you!
Thanks everyone! I have found a bug that seems to occur occasionally where the creature stops taking damage and I am not sure why. Script all looks fine so I am going to dig into it a bit more. Thanks for playing though and glad you all enjoyed it!
Absolutely loved this! For the record I am a happy person and would never do any of the things in this, but I got to see what it was like and it was an interesting glimpse at a whole different way of living. Amazing work!
Nice idea but tricky to get right. Excellent stuff.
Very tricky but nice work!
Got stuck quite a few times and had the game lock up twice but good fun nonetheless.
Love the style and tone of this. Also great audio. Impressed
I really enjoyed this and at the end of the day, that is what is most important. Great work!
You say above that you don't have artistic skill but I think this looks great. Well done. It has that "one more go!" factor which is super fun. Good work.
Great writing and humor. Laughed a lot playing this! Good work :)
Nice simple idea here. Clean presentation and supporting audio. Good work!
Looks like a solid idea. I played with the AI and think that it could shape up into an awesome party game :) good work
Didnt know how to find which ones were cultists... but I like the idea.
Great work and super fun! also, best name I have seen for a game ever.
Excellent work. Simple fun controls, smooth visuals and addictive! Love it. Great work!
Nice take on the theme and great for an hours work! :)
As always, immaculate presentation :D Strong game here, will play it a lot more later. Superb work with the audio AGAIN! I always come back to see what you make since Slam Jam Bakery. Good work.
Top marks for FUN on this! nice work :D
It is a shame you didn't manage to finish but don't let that stop you joining the next LD! You will do better next time :)
Alright! Another space shooter :D great work! I made mine in unreal but that is awesome you made your own engine. Great effort!
Great! Enjoyed this :) "These train tickets... are for the FUTURE!" :D also.. free bike! :D
Hey Claire! Cool entry. As a non-coder it always blows my mind what people can achieve through C++
Great work!
A fellow "Commander" game! Nice work! Tricky in a fun way. Enjoyed this a lot. Great intro too!
I like that the grumpy kid smiles! :) Nice little entry here!
ALRIGHT! :D my first comment :D Thanks TLansdale!
Hi Aran, Thanks for the feedback! It is very hard to balance the tutorial speed as it seems to link the movement to frame rate. The tutorial screen was the last bit I did and needed more work, but no time! :D Glad you enjoyed it.
That TimtipGames! :D and ProjectX593, I think you have found a bug... investigating now!
Hey! thanks everyone for the comments. I kinda like the depth perception as it adds a certain amount of trepidation to flying around. Also, the solar system procedurally generates on start-up so occasionally there are small planets on the outer rings :)
Thanks everyone! Vertigon, I did play with just L And R movement but as the planets move up and down you would end up waiting too long for them to be JUST in range. Also flattening the planets so they didnt move as much made it look less interesting. When I added the up and down ability but kept it slower, I liked the feeling of trying to catch up with the planets as a struggle.. just..a bit... faster! etc. Restricting it kept it semi-2d plane :) maybe a bad call as a few have commented on it ;)
great fun! One comment tho, as there is no audio you should remove the "Audio" category from the voting by editing your submission. If there is supposed to be audio... I am not hearing any!
Could not get this entry to start. Which file do I need to run? browsed the directories but didn't find anything that would run.
Really liked this. Simple but fun to play.
Nice visuals and concept. 3D/2D thing is a little tricky to aim with but I liked it.
Something about this sticks with me. I like it :) Good job!
great audio too, really suits the game.
Solid! very addictive. Good work on the movement.
HARDCORE!!! Love it. Reminds me of Subcommand! :) Great stuff. The basic audio and visuals actually give it quite a tense feel as the player is free to project.
hah! This is great fun! :D Love the laser effects and audio. nice work.
a LOT of systems in there! Great work buddy! :)
HUGELY addictive. Great stuff.
Tried three browsers and cannot get this to run :( shame as it looks interesting. Gimme a shout if you manage to figure it out!
Nice entry. Liked the theme of this a lot. Very cool.
Lovely mood. Add audio and this would be even better :)
You know what makes this game? The Audio :) So few people think about it as an important part of a Jam but I am glad you did. It adds the final bit of polish to this solid little design. Great work.
Great design here. I love this concept... The music... not so much! ;) Lovely entry tho.
I really enjoyed this spin on tower defence :D amazing audio work too! Great job.
also - "YAAAY!" :D
This really impressed me. Solid entry. Well done. Very tricky but fun. The expressions on the creature add humor and the audio ties it all together. Great work.
Simple and fun. Nice audio too.
Nice use of Twine! :) well written too
I agree with the comments below. It is good fun! and yes, I did think that the sounds meant I was doing something wrong!
I played this for a LOT longer than I should to get back to that boss! Lots of fun. Proven formula for a reason! Also, I love how when the music ends it kinda just gives up. Adds a ton of charm! oh, discovered Dash on the bonus level. ;)
Great audio, nice idea. Good work! Love the main model.
a bit too tricky, but looks great :)
This is really good. I like the detail level. I also would like to give it good marks for audio, but the category is not there. :) nice entry!
Great fun and a tidy little design. Nice
As a designer with some Alien in my past... I appreciate the effort here :) good work
Nice idea, would love to see it taken further :)
I could play this for a while! strangely soothing. I like the presentation. More audio would have been great! Nice work though.
Played this to the end. Strong message and loved the mood. very nice.
This is a tidy entry. Great use of theme, lovely visuals and nice loop in gameplay. Great work
Nice take on two buttons. I like the toggle concept. Would be cool to see it taken further.
There are a few entries similar to this but nice execution! Love the audio and random events. Laughed a lot at meteorites! nice work.
Great stuff! love the audio and feels fun to play. Can't ask for much more¬!
Cannot get this to run. The download opens a local webpage but the game does not load. Would like to play it though. Looks neat.
Some issues with YES And NO on the "Again" / "NEXt" prompt, but other than that, nice execution of a classic idea. good work.
I nearly filled the screen and then it told me I lost! boo! but nice idea :)
Saw this on Jupi's playthrough. Really love the style. STrong entry.
the mixture of slow bullets with fast movement make for an interesting gameplay challenge. Nice work!
hah! this is GREAT! :D "Hey! It's a frog!"
LARGE LONG ARMS SLOWLY APPROACH FROG
SMOOCH!
awesome. Love the sounds and the end screen! Didn't find my prince ;)
Nice polished entry but no audio? that could have really helped it become even more!
Top marks for fun! now I have time to play it, I think it's great! :D awesome work. Reminds me of Future Cop LAPD multiplayer!
Really enjoyed this! I think the audio made it the most for me. Well done @atmospherium!
Solid entry, missing audio but a good game. I found it frustrating that I could hold to shoot, but hold to move was temporary. Nice idea tho and well executed.
Thanks Mayank! And to Tanis, yeah I know what you mean. I had planned a soft intro with no timer and easy ways to learn the controls... but ran out of time. Barely made it work to be honest!
thanks for the feedback though
Hijomo! those poor cargo pilots are only doing their job! don't get the unions involved AGAIN or we are gonna have to re-address those deep space working hours contracts...
Great humour, good audio. Bit sticky to control with the jumping but a nice little puzzler here. Great stuff!
11.93 IS MY BEST! Took me a while to understand the start sequence. For those having trouble... hold the clutch down, THEN start the engine and rev. Lovely game though, really enjoyed it. Nice work.
Really great stuff. Very much enjoyed playing this. Love the collateral damage and the feel of the game. Superb audio. Well done.
I have been a fan of your stuff since Slam Jam Bakery and you never cease to impress. Always with the polish, great audio and fun core gameplay. Another great entry. well done!
Great work, loved this. Really stood out as special.
VERY tough to play as each time I hit space in the browser the entire page sinks to the bottom and you lose the screen. Is there a standalone somewhere I can play?
Absolutely beautiful. Well executed, smart design and all round polish. Great work!
Great work here dude. Really good fun. Laughed out loud at the pikmin comment. A few years ago I worked on a game called "spare parts" that had a VERY similar plot too! ;) Excellent game.
Solid idea and execution. Really enjoyed this one. Great work.
A nice game with an elaborate backstory! :D Love it :)
Nice simple idea with good execution for your first game jam! Good work WissUK!
Several funny moments in this charming awesome game. Great work. I also appreciate the final message :)
Hi, nice game but please don't name your download files "LD35". Why not name it your game's name or username?
A lot of nice ideas here but very confusing to start with. If the player got to start as the human they would understand movement before having to mash buttons to learn the shift. Even a single prompt for "Change into human" would help. Lovely visuals and great audio tho. Nice stuff.
Great. Really well thought out and wonderful audio. Nice stuff :)
This is an nice game full of awesome humour! I am glad I found the washboard comment :D
- Barold Snapper
Outstanding work. Well done.
Surprised me how in depth this was and how much fun I had. really good game. Only issue I found was trying to play on pad was very hard and needed the mouse off screen. Ended up reverting to mouse and keyboard but still lots of fun.
Rock hard but good challenge! :D SO grateful for the walkthrough video! One thing I found odd was the power bar UNDER the character instead of above? under made it harder to judge where I was going to land and also made it feel like thr ground was lower than it was. After a while it became an optical illusion that looked like all platforms had a "railing" on them :) Love the art style though. Lovely work.
well Tlansdale.. IF that is your real name. This was a solid entry that was super fun to play. I am impressed. Keep up the good work!
Good entry! Love the humour and style.
Nice idea and good play on the theme. I would say the balance is the hardest thing to get right in this one as it was VERY hard to kill the soldiers. Great entry though! :D
Tricky bun fun once I worked it out. I thought the score was in a different language until I concentrated on it. Love the idea of the evolving asteroids feel and there is a nice risk reward to it. Auto fire would be lovely too. Nearly wore out my space bar! :)
Hi there, Got to play a few screens eventually but has issues. Game crashes when full screen. The end of level text vanishes for me in less than a second and the detection on the spikes is PUNISHING! nice entry though and keep at it.
Played this all the way to the end and was glad I stuck with it. It is rounded, complete and good fun! There was a huge jump in difficulty on the last boss, but I loved it. Great work.
Fun little game, audio is a little hard on the ears but simple enough.
Very easy and fun to play. Nice complete little entry for your first go. well done! Love the audio too.
This was excellent. Well done. Love the atmosphere and mood.
A nice idea and I would only change one thing... you have shapes cycling through on one button... yet colours on four separate buttons. If both were single button pushes I think it would be more fun to play. As it is, it is still good fun though :)
Lovely rounded and complete feeling entry. Well done. Just the right balance of content and puzzle. Loved it.
Solid entry and looks great. well done
Really quite hard for the untrained ear and without the notes on each blob, it is even harder! I like it though. Good work!
The core idea is fun and the robot and world look cool. I think the biggest issue is the random power jump makes it far too hard to judge. For a first game though, this was excellent. Keep at it!
Loved this. Really great design and well thought out. Very impressed. Couple of bits of feedback though.
the intro was amazing. Loved how it set the tone and the story... then the music for the first level felt really up beat and didn't seem to fit. However the music in the second level was great! I got stuck on the second level after shape shifting to red. Made it up the first few steps but that large drop stopped me from getting any further. For a platformer that relies on skill based timing, you should allow pad or WASD support. Moving on the arrow keys and jumping with Z means you are flipping the controls for most modern games. the left hand is normally reserved for movement and the right action when you think about it. Loved what I played though. Nice concept and well executed. hope the feedback was useful.
A lot of story and character in this one. Nice work!
Nice entry, great tone. A little long but I think that adds to the overall tone.
Visuals seem to be quite inspired by Alien Homonid but a clean looking smooth game.
This was a great bit of work. Enjoyed playing it. Nice idea and well executed. Amazing sounds!
One of the more original takes on the theme! :)
Nice polished feel to it and good twitch gameplay. Worth mentioning that this format seems to be popular for this theme and this is the 4th or 5th game like it. BUT this is one of the better implementations so well done :)
Love the presentation and satisfying audio. Played up until the enneadecagon and didn't notice the shape developing any further. Still, with a timer and a bit more of a challenge, this could be a solid start. nice work!
AH! Another space cargo game! :D Great idea! ;) Really enjoyed this and fun to see two different approaches to the same theme. Nice work.
Posted on your thread but wanted to say it here too, looks like great fun and I will try it out this week!
Love this. As a full time VR user and developer, I can say this is an accurate simulation of our trying times
good fun and funny dialogue! Laughed a lot while playing and enjoyed bombing those turrets
Fun game but wondered why the bullets take longer to shoot. Still, had fun with it! Nice implementation of the idea.
Fun game but it's not quite one room if there are "floors" change that word to "waves" and it fits! ;)
Nice entry! The little things really make it. the screen shake and the music bring it home. Good work!
Second "roomba" game I have played but this was outstanding. Great work with audio, nice pixel art and fun controls. Level 7 and 14 had me laughing. Really well done
No. You are a loser! ;)
nice concept and cool sci fi references.
Music is a bit repetitive but I am glad it is there. I had a lot of fun with this. Nice sorta Geometry Wars game but with a cool levelling up mechanic. Great work!
Nice narration and great visuals. Definite Stanley Parable/Dr. Langeskov vibes!
There are two types of platformers, ones where you develop skill and the game allows you to proceed and ones where the game punishes you till you learn the sequence... this is very much the latter! :D
Lovely feel and tone to the game. Nice work. Not sure how close to the theme it is but it is good fun :)
Good job! Very cute and fun :)
Love the lyrics still!!!
Another great original game from the master of quirky game jams! :) Love it.
Full marks from me on this one. Superb use of sound and graphics to create a theme and atmosphere. Nice work.
Great graphics and audio, nice clever puzzle design, but too clever for me! I was stuck for about 30 mins and had to get my wife (Nixxor) to try and solve it... which she did very quickly :)
This was very strong. Everything about it was thought through and a lot of care went into this. I am impressed and it has a very coherent style and presentation. Difficult subject to cover and I think you have done a great job of challenging the player and raising lots of questions in their head. Very well done.
Thanks everyone for checking the entry! :) Some great feedback above and I am pretty happy with this one.
THIS IS AMAZING!!! I really like the comments and this is so reminiscent of games I have played! superb work!
Great game with that "one more go" feel. Very well made and looks cool.
Had fun with this. Choppy audio but other than that, very polished and a lot of atmosphere. For fun I set the train to top speed and jumped out... I will never see that train again... ;)
Full marks on graphics and audio, go together really well! Very impressed and some great puzzle design.
Something very American McGee or "Alice" about this. Really enjoyed it! Took a while for me to understand how the mirror and other characters worked, but once I did it was great. Nice!
Really smart idea that is very well executed. Great work.
Nice work. I think it is great to design and build a game around a shader! makes you approach it in a unique way.
Nice audio and a lot of work has gone into this. TINY subtitles tho and the font made them hard to read. Some funny moments too. One bit of advice, add a "ESC to QUIT GAME" function as it is a lot easier to end the game than having to alt-tab and close it etc. Nice work though
NSFW prompt needed I think. That is an option in the submission page. Also did you create the sprites from scratch?
Audio was cool but we had to turn it off as it got too much. A fun MP brawler!
Love this idea! This is a neat first pass at it! cool use of the control room theme too.
Found this tricky so switched to the shortcut keys and had a LOT more success. I think this is a great entry! well done :)
FROM DOWNTOWN!!! Loving this. From the intro to the commentary you have nailed the feeling of the SNES Era sports action titles. Very impressed
I managed to kill them all! :D A great first entry and keep up the good work! In the future I would say think about things like end conditions, restarting and score, but this is a super first jam entry :)
Great little game! Fun to play! I would suggest making pick up and put down two separate actions. It is frustrating when the shelves steal your boxes. Very good work though I like it!
Very polished and smooth game. Reminds me of micro machines! only tweak i would make would be closer camera. Also pad controls... ;) Great work!
Lovely graphics and I really appreciate games with multiple endings. Good work
Tidy, solid, polished entry. Your best yet. Very impressed.
Love the art style, actually quite tricky to play and figure out what to do BUT love the mood and humor. Great audio and looks amazing! Well done team!
ok ok ok ... played this through twice and really love it. I mean, this has some great atmosphere and depth! There is a lot of really efficient use of the same models to give a great sense of a world and the screen effects and presentation really tie it together. I am very impressed with this and will remember it. Great work!
Tricky to understand the core mechanic at first was tricky but once it clocked it was cool. I agree there should be a restraining factor but a really good entry. Well done!
This is a stylish and well executed game. Enjoyed playing it and love the pacing, story and presentation. Great job!
Good fun, nice satisfying controls and simple to play. I think the big plants you hit look too similar to the decoration that you don't. Aside from that, really liked this. Great entry!
This looks great. Kinda frustrating having the levels on the far right but it does encourage movement. A nice and simple plate spinning mechanic that is well executed. Nicely done!
No link. Would like to play this! Will check back soon :)
I like the style of this and the audio. Also the scrolling screen reminded me of Bubble Bobble and I love that style of game. Nicely done.
Nice work! Music gets a bit much but loved the style and gameplay. a solid entry here.
you know what this game has? A ton of feeling and style. Won me over instantly with the intro voice and the smooth jumps. Great concept and well made!
Really like this. Has a ton of charm and style and is really good fun to play. LOVE the audio work. Nicely done!
Really tricky to get started, came back to your page to read the tips and then I got going quite well. First power outage confused me but other than that it has a lot of potential. Biggest suggestion I have is to add a Quit button or map it to escape. Had to Alt-Tab to leave the game :)Great work though! nice jam! :D
Played and finished this. Simple and well made and I also understand why the monkeys are throwing it... my ship is burning them all!
Thanks for the advice! I will change the listing. And yeah, the three battery puzzles causes issues some times. Ran out of time to fix it though as all the core mechanisms are intertwined in a mess of sleep deprived spaghetti script ;) thanks for the kind words though and for taking the time to play my game.
Thanks @uzyfeo and @Dankypants! My choice with the dropping of the batteries was either allow the battery to get stuck in objects and fall through the world OR have it drop when colliding. Ran out of time to do something with more finesse so ended up with a "be careful with the battery!" solution :D also, for some reason I never figured out, turning quickly and strafing too quickly drops the battery too. no idea why! :D Thanks for playing though!
Thanks @roka-josh! :D yeah, really wish I had spent more time on the handling of the physics, but as it went, I ended up having to cut the last two floors. Still, they add a nice empty feel to the escape! :)
Good morning all! Thanks for the feedback. Yeah it's disappointing how the physics on the battery turned out, but you can probably tell from the last couple of floors I ran out of time! I appreciate everyone's time to give it a go though and thanks for watching the video to see the full experience and final ending :) now to reply to each of you...
@thorneto - Yes! thanks for playing to the end. I was hoping those last two floors wouldn't stand out so much... but I guess they did :)
@sputnik3d - The darkness bit I am not so worried about but yeah, the handling on the batteries is the killer. Believe it or not, it is the lesser of the two evils i could have chosen :) Thanks for playing though!
@Whatfruit - Thanks for the kind words, I kinda feel like I sacrificed the gameplay to get the visuals this time around but glad you enjoyed it.
@Nekusoul - Thanks! And yeah, I try to make my game jam's feel like full titles :D
@Pyrosneak - Thank you and yes... Infuriating is the right word. IF you jump off the top you don't get the final ending though! ;)
@perdom - yeah, there are issues with it for sure. Have seen on machines that struggle to run it, the physics are worse and the battery drops a LOT! thinking I am going to have to make a post-jam version with a different system for the battery carrying.
Thanks again all! heading off to check your games soon :D
G
Thanks @Gwinnell! I am getting to the stage where I think the video walkthrough might do a better job of explaining what I was going for! ;) But alas, we don't get judged on the video! Thank you for persevering though and for the feedback. Very tempted to to a post jam version where I overhaul the pickup system and add better telegraphing of the mechanics.
Thanks @yvanor and yeah. Them batteries are making ZERO friends ;)
Thanks @lycaon @Acoto87 and @Futil for playing. Also for the Riven mention! I hadn't thought about that whilst making it but when I played the final version it jumped out at me along with themes from Bioshock and the Truman show :)
Hey @Drakryttare Thanks for the kind words! Tempting to explore the concept further and make a full game out of it :D I am definitely going to make a post jam with the pickup mechanics changed for sure. Will see how that goes and maybe look at up scaling it :D
Thanks @Jin47 I really appreciate the kind words. Worked very hard on this so it is lovely to hear such nice things :) you made my evening.
Wow! thanks for such positive comments @randomphantom @Hijomo and @gilborn :) Kinda frustrated that the gameplay lets it down so much but glad people are pushing through.
Hi @sarrixx, yeah everything you described has been reported by people with slower machines. Even on powerful machines though it does ping off too delicately. The walkthrough video above shows it in a more positive light but sorry to disappoint you.
Great work! Visuals are really solid too :D
Really nice wave hack and slash. Enjoyed this a lot. Lovely visuals and LOVED the sword anims and effects. Sound is really full on. Felt like I Was playing a game in a techno club!
Top marks on mood and really impressed with the character that came from the animations. Love it! good work!
Very slick and consistent. Really like this and lovely work on audio and SFX. really makes the game
I pushed through the tutorial as the presentation was SlickAF and very glad I did. I LOVE the centre is Ludum Capital! Great work. Really enjoyed this and the little touches really made it. "toot toot!" wonderful
High scores on mood and humour here :D sticky controls on the toaster, occasionally unable to move so ended up smashing the buttons in quick succession to move around. Lovely atmosphere though :)
Ah this is great! I think my favorite thing at first became my least favourite thing as I played for longer. The arm! I love the movement on it and it give the model a surprising amount of character via player input and puppetry... however, once it goes far left and right, the aiming gets lost. Still, amazing job. Really like this and the great use of repeated assets to make an office. Superb!
Great use of graphics and audio. I think whilst I LOVE the rotating mechanic... the most subtle thing was the beginning. Really liked that seamless introduction from menu to game. Well done.
Nice style and great use of audio. Feels like a complete title which is a huge achievement in such short time. LOVE the zoom in when dialogue is spoken. Really smooth. Great work.
Fun game with some nice visuals. I would ask why you chose to make the plane so detailed when the world is largely low poly and flat colors? Nice entry though.
Loved this. Good use of theme and I like the idea of a robot president. Nice audio use too. Good level design and I like the approach to the camera system. Keeps it simple and fun. Good work!
Tricky first few tries but got the hang of it. Nice entry here and I had a lot of fun :) great classic feel
I love the aim and fling mechanic of the fish :) Caught a few but didnt earn any money?! Still good fun and nice graphics.
I enjoyed playing this :) nice idea and well executed. Superb audio work! really ties it all together.
This is JUST plain good fun :) very well done! I really wanted that fourth skill and when I got it I was so happy! ROAR! :D great work.
Really liked this. Reminded me of "out there" on iPad. Check it out if you haven't. I got SO close to the end of this three times! Will return to complete it. Nice work.
This was great fun and I mean that. Lots of care and attention went into this. Love the surrealy floaty background objects, the audio on attacking enemies is great and the whole thing hangs together really well. Great audio, visuals and gameplay. A lovely game.
I gotta say, I was really impressed by this. As soon as the dash had the zoom in cam, and the slash animations happened I loved it. Really fun to time the hits and very cinematic. Great work!
Took a few turns to work out the red lines were timing indicators of strikes and then LOVED it! :D great little concept here.
This is SOLID for a first jam. Plan for audio next time obvs but well done! :D Smooth playing and great visuals. Nice work!
Quite a slow burn but I like the radar. Frustrating when an enemy spawns right next to you without time to react BUT a very nice idea. Great stuff.
I guess the theme is connected by the ship running out of power and then making sacrifices to survive? I like the presentation but it did come down to an IQ test... although I don't like Lord of The rings but am still pretty smart ;) Nice entry!
Looks lovely. Strong reminiscence of "Bound" and parts are monument-valley like. Both very good things :) Lots of drift on the movement and the camera was tricky to get used to but a lovely entry. Well done.
This looks ace, lovely graphics and pace that suits the tone. great stuff.
Great stuff! Really liked the frantic stress nature of this. Really panic typing to survive. Good entry
Nice writing and mood. I am a sucker for branching storylines and a while into it I was thinking it was far too linear with no impacting choices, then luckily at the end there WERE :D Nice job
REALLY nice work. Very much enjoyed this entry. Solid effort.
Good work Joe! Keep it up and you will be making smash hits in no time! ;)
Thanks @Benjamin! Made this while ill so was a bit of a struggle. Happy I got there in the end though.
Hi @bookworm31, yes it was intentional! :D The original idea was that aiming would get harder as the crowd grew, but couldn't balance the variable with the time I had left so just left it at the crowd throwing things and the audio pressure. Thanks for playing!
This is lovely. Charming game with a ton of atmosphere. The little touches like rain and the TV and cooking sounds really made it. Great work.
Nice polished entry with a lot of work all round. Great stuff!
Great use of theme and good work on the audio. This was also a lot of fun to play. Reminds me of the "Gungine" variant in Luftrausers. Awesome stuff.
Good fun! Awesome visual style and good mood to it. Nice work The Creed!
Fun to play but found I could do most levels with two jumps. Not sure that is the intention but it was fun to play :)
This is lovely. Reminds me of Cave Story in that it is pixelated style graphics and so much fun to play. Well executed and presented.
Such happy music for a brutal arena! :D nice entry
Nice smoothness to the controls and fits the theme. Not sure about the audio... ;)
very tricky but awesome concept. I got 190 points, X% multiplier and 6 extra car parts! then crashed. Played this a few times too. Nice work.
This was fun to play but ran very badly on my machine. I like that you went to the trouble of popping the enemy heads off. From experience, deleting or disabling the motion blur effect and the post processing in unreal can really help with frame rate. Nice entry
This was lovely! Really enjoyed playing this! well done. Felt great, explosions were satisfying, audio was spot on. Superb!
@blinkenlights again I have failed you! I have until the next LD to figure out how to make a linux version. I will make that one of my goals for next time :)
@amour-du-pain The space left aboard is actually a mechanic linked to the ships... if they get past you, the spaces disappear quicker but I don't think I did a very good job of communicating that :) And Thank you for your kind comment! I am really glad you have put something personal into your game. I am on my way there to play it now! :)
@alex-adedge Thank you! yes, I had planned to balance the timing and get it all sorted out but the blueprints were a mess by the end of the 48 hours, so kinda made a mistake there :)
Thanks @awesomealliterationalliance and @randdir and yes, lots of people agree. Next time I will spend longer on balancing or at least make a game that is easier to balance :id: @somuch Thanks for playing! Most people react badly to the slowness so I am glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks everyone for playing! @cristihkj glad you enjoyed it! @nam-nguyen Yeah, from play testing it after the Jam I created exactly that! a warning icon that flashes! But I didn't want to upload and share that as when I add post-jam entries it sometimes confuses people as to which version they should review. Rules state bug fixes only and no new features so I thought it best not to.
@daniel-rincon Thanks for playing!
@samusoidal and @nyri0 .. you kill the bombers with the charges - A button on game pad or F on keyboard. I listed those controls above but I understand they should have been in the game. A lot of people have said the same so don't feel bad about not finding it. The splashes from the charges hit and down the bombers :)
@nyri0 AAAh my bad! Sorry! :) I read the "enemies you wont be able to kill" and misunderstood. Thank you :)
Thank you @antonin and @mrjorts! There were a lot of things I wanted to get into this and just ran out of time completely! I will make a post-compo version I think with some of these fixes and suggestions as the game has been so well received. Honestly I barely finished it before the deadline so I am just happy it is being enjoyed :)
aside from issues with space bar and some needed balancing for time and challenge, this is quite a nice idea. Single button entry and cool graphics. Nice work.
I like that you went for three games instead of one! Hard work! I think my favourite was the shooter as the guns sound gave it a natural rhythm which I enjoyed.
There is a lot more going on here than would initially be obvious. Nice entry! Shows a lot of logic behind the scenes. There is something cool about it and definitely something of note here :) PUC! PUC!
This is one tricky but amazing looking game! Great audio and feels lovely to play. Nice work
This is excellent. The best thing I have played so far! My first "top marks all round" too for this jam. Really impressed. Cool idea, well executed, feels great to play, scoreboard is a stroke of genius and just wow. Love this! Well done!
Had early struggles getting into it but like max above, couldn't get very far. It looks like there is cool game in there but with a bit more balancing. As you said above though, you didn't think it was as polished as could be. Good entry though!
I think if you added a map or the ability to move the camera around it would be a lot more accessible, but I enjoyed this. Reminded me of the puzzles in "The Witness" too :) Nice.
This has some really nice touches. I love the UI and when you die the chain snaps! Torch is a nice touch and I appreciate the narrative content. Good effort!
Really like the look and feel of this one. Nice work. Had a lot of trouble starting it and held boost for so long that I ran out of track BUT, that balance in the middle is pretty cool :)
I mean, basic visuals and simple audio but DAMN is this fun to play! Very well done! Only suggestions I have is to put the screen shake on enemy deaths rather than every shot and perhaps a timer for the powerups to show you when they run out. Great stuff though. You really nailed how a slightly under powered main weapon can make rapid fire and multi shot powerups feel amazing in comparison. Well done!
This is exceptional! Love the mood, the style and the gameplay. Wonderful entry! well done!
Great entry! Took me surprisingly long to figure out the mouse was dictating direction! but great idea and well presented. Nice work.
This is an excellent first entry. You may not think it but the fact it has an intro screen and an end screen and feels complete is a big achievement in the time you had. Great work. Point of note though, in the download there is an application called Love and LoveC which run different things. Probably best to remove those so users do not get confused :)
As above, not sure how to win or progress aside from riding the red ones down, but I like the visuals and the ball feels satisfying to move. :)
This was really nice :) love the mood and suggestion of deeper themes and the way it works mechanically is lovely. Also really gives tricky dilemmas when balancing what to choose. Really well done!
Nice all rounder here. Most importantly, the ship felt great to control and shoot. Good work.
Tricky curve but a nice entry! My feedback would be to name your project it's title and not LudumDare42. When people download several games at once it makes it a lot harder to know which is which. Good jam overall though, nice work.
I have to agree with @wisstopher, getting killed at the end was amazing! :)
This was great! I have to admit, I started without reading instructions and didn't know you could shoot... I got through three anomalies and it was intense! After learning shooting it was much easier. Great dedication to limit your palette too. Lovely work.
heheh, this is quite an interesting idea. I think my only criticism is that the music puts forward quite a somber and chilled mood, yet the sound effects and news are very comedy! Nice entry though. Go team of two!
Lots of blind jumps and at full screen res the game looks BIG! but a great little game :)
Nice entry. Love the visuals and audio. Tied together very well. Excellent presentation. I have a split space bar in two parts so it was easier to play by mashing alternatively. Still, good work! :D
This is simply excellent. Loved this. A nice touch that was perfect polish was the song changing to have two melodies that matched when "she" arrives. Loved it. Superb!
Good work for a first entry! Story, intro, funny, audio! great stuff! :)
Nice entry! almost a reverse difficulty curve. Game became much easier as it went on! Good humour too, great stuff.
I was dubious at first and see above that people have made comparisons to papers please and reigns... but you know what?.. this has heart. The writing is cool, the outcomes and headlines are great and it has turned into it's own thing. I think its a great entry and well done for putting in the effort to make it your own. Great stuff.
It's quite slow paced BUT it is REALLY satisfying when you land a big hit and take out multiple enemies. I also laughed when the voiceover said "I shouldn't laugh there should I?" Great stuff :)
Played this against a friend and we had a lot of fun! Great work!
Love the apocalyptic end and also, small thing but the rocket and missile impact sounds are excellent and add a real sense of scale. Great work!
This is excellent! Best entry I have played so far. Great execution, smart idea, fun to play. it does it all. Top marks from me! :D Great work!
I rolled the vehicle a lot but enjoyed boosting and shooting stuff. Reminds me of the first Mass Effect :) Good Jam!
This game is a cool idea. I like the concept and execution but it would have suited control pad so much better. Nice job though!
I DO have VR but I can't get this to work on Oculus. I can look around the world in VR but the controllers are not recognised. Looks lovely though :) keep up the good work.
Excellent. Pure quality. Tone, humour, graphics, gameplay. This gets top marks from me. Well done!
heheh this was great fun. I have to point out though, ANYONE serious about a game jam or compo, just turns their phones off. Friends understand ;) Aside from that, loved it! dream sequence was very funny! world looks great. Super!
Thanks @yaroslav-kravtsov and yes! this is a good point. I added checkpoints in the post compo version but I simply ran out of time for the main submission :) Now when you play, the helicopter drops new troops half way into the level. Thanks for playing!
@nakami Thanks for playing. Yes, the level design and mechanics suffered when I ran out of time. It it is any help, I fixed a lot of that in the post compo version :)
Thank you @odlog-oglog On my way to check out your game this evening :)
Wow! Lots of comments to wake up to! Good morning everyone and thanks for playing!
Thank you @tamas-turi !
@kruemelkeksfan Glad you saw the end screen :D Yes, the controls work much better on game pad than keyboard. I need to work on the keyboard mouse support.
@jannick-larsen yeah, by having the isometric 3/4 angle the movement is transposed at a 45 angle... which is a bit odd. But yeah, better on pad. Needs work on the PC keyooard side. Thanks for playing though! :D
@jupiter-hadley Hi Jupi! Thanks for playing!
@velvetlobster Thank you! yeah, the plan was to make it more of a puzzler about getting to different levels, but... ran out of time! ;)
Thank you @boopsgames glad you enjoyed!
Great feedback @captain-tyx and I totally agree. The post compo version fixes some of this and thank you for the kind words! :)
@tymus Thanks! That intro took me about 20 minutes to make and added SO much to the experience :D
@fylipp Yes, the keyboard controls are very much lacking. It is better on gamepad, but that is no excuse. I will do better for keyboard support next time! :)
Thanks @bugord and yes you are right.. no checkpoint in the submission. I added one for the post compo version though! :)
@codesity Thanks! I enjoyed making it :)
Hey @amour-du-pain ! How are you doing? :D Thank you for the kind words. I really do put a lot of effort in and try to push myself. Minimal sleep etc so I am really glad that it is noticed and appreciated :) I will go check our your entry shortly! and yeah, ran out of time on the balancing front and the controls and PC versions needed a bit more love. Thank you for the support and playing though! See you next LD!
Thanks @shiqichuan and yes, that seems to be the general feel. Next time I should spend more focus on the controls for PC and mechanics rather than other areas... the grave system was probably not needed for example! ;D
Thanks @merdeboi yeah.. a little too long. Needed checkpoints!
Thank you @blooobird ! I am off to play Devilman Tossbaby now! :D
Thanks @julianeder33 ! I tend to give it as much as I can :D
Thanks @arvejeitor! I am not sure I pick a style other than "what I can make in the time" but I am glad you like it :)
Thanks @julian-creutz . The idea was to speed up as they rank up... which I did in the post compo version. I think I should have changed the base speed when I realised I was out of time :)
Thanks @awix , on my way to your game now!
@wojciech-bruski Thank you :D I am not sure how many people got there, but I am glad someone did!
@scf yes, it works better on pad, but agreed :) tried to address this in the post compo version
@alexey-cherkasov Thank you! I do try :D
Wow! goodmorning all! where did all these ratings come from?! :D ok, one by one...
Thank you @vlad-ilisan and @floata-1 !
@zarqus99 yes, agreed. Fixed in the post compo version... but should have seen that sooner :)
@andre-606 yeah, another area that fell short in my entry. Totally agree :)
@s4m4di yep! all on my own :) if it helps, I sleep very little over the weekend, take a day before to rest up and prepare and two days after to recover. I really give it my all! :D
Thank you @liamisunlucky for the kind words. You are completely right about checkpoints and I should have done that in the time I had. It is better on pad yes, and many people have mentioned PC controls are bad for this game. Thank you for the feedback though as this shapes how I will do future compos :)
@teo989 that is really interesting about esc. I had never thought of that before. I play so many games that don't allow you to quit that I focussed on making sure you could, rather than how. This is something I will change. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words @jcpd and @morriss
I am not heading off to check out all your awesome entries!
reading all this feedback is great btw. Thank you for taking the time to play and leave a comment.
Have a great day! :D
Hey everyone! thanks for the comments and ratings :) I will go check out your games if I haven't already.
@madjackmcmad yes! this is a common theme now. I realised this when @teo989 suggested I make esc a "double tap", so for all future jams I will make quitting and credits a "Hold to progress" with a timer bar I think :) YOu have also made me realise I Completely forgot to explain the PC shooting! it is on the mouse! My mistake and I apologise for missing that out. Updating the header above now!
@team-infernus yes. Overwhelming response that "Pc controls are bad" I will make that better in future jams :) Thank you for playing!
@truc-e Thanks for the kind comments! Sound was thrown together in the last couple of hours and for sure needed balancing. Next time!
@masterkrepta Wow! thank you! I hadn't really looked at it through that lens before so that is exciting to hear. I will take that as a huge compliment.
Thanks for playing everyone!
Thank you @antoine-vion ! glad you liked it :)
Nice work! this one is ALL about the audio :D another classic RB game to add to the list.
This was really surprising in many ways! Love the screen border change, addictive gameplay and yeah, great presentation!
Nice entry. I think the need to try each turret detracts somewhat from the core experience. If a Turret has an enemy in range, it could glow or at least light up and if a Turret cant see an enemy, it could have an indicator saying "Out of range" or something. Otherwise, great entry, great visuals and audio!
This is a good solid all rounder. graphics, audio, gameplay and design. All great and vital for a compo entry so well done! :)
Great mood and sounds :) very well done. I left millions of people to die! :D
This is a cool idea with some nice implementation. Love the small world mechanic and hunting things. The music was a bit much and the second screen a bit too intrusive BUT I did have fun with it. Nice job.
Nice variety in powerups and play. Having the controls on LEft shift and LEft control was a bit awkward but I like the game concept :)
This is great! Really enjoyed playing this and have saved it to come back to it. Perfect minimal visuals yet addictive and satisfying gameplay. Well done! Top marks from me :)
I like this! A bit confusing when control is taken away from the player but a minor thing. Those red cubes in the tray meal look delicious. In my mind they taste like a cola flavored bbq meat. Mmmmmm
The building side of the game was very tricky to get used to and a lot of trial and error involved in putting parts on and then battling. Great concept though and a lot of work went into this! Good stuff!
This is really excellent, I mean it. Great fun, just the right amount of puzzle and action. I love that the map spells LD and the sounds are excellent! "Wait for me!". Be proud of this, it is great :)
Cool name! I like the game. Lots of fun! :D
Movement was a bit inconsistent and the reaction of villagers seemed a bit disconnected from my input but a good approach and solid concept. great fit to the theme and strong visuals :) Nice work.
Lots of work went into this. Love the intro and atmosphere. Lovely audio!
Great atmosphere and audio. A little unclear on how I was winning or losing BUT I did enjoy it :) well done.
Great fun! Feels like "Gangbeasts" inspired visuals and gameplay and does a good job at it. Great fun and good all round entry.
Fun little game here with great audio and visuals. Hard to get up the tower sometimes but I enjoyed it. Love the writing too!
Looks lovely and a great presentation. A Little too tricky to play for me but a great entry.
Great game! simple but fun and well executed. Nice!
This is very impressive. A few minor issues hold it back but it is really something. - The music doesn't loop so the game feels quite empty when it stops - The QUIT button doesn't work on the main menu after quitting from the game level - It is hard to tell when you have taken damage as there is no indication aside from the health bar lowering
Apart from these minor issues, it is really great. The sense of scale on the creature is fantastic, the world feels stylistic and cool. Love it!
Nice core base of a game here. Would like to see it developed further.
Cool entry and I like that there is audio that suits the game. A little frustrating to have to replay several times and the levels are a bit expansive BUT a good entry :) Echoing some of the comments above on how it fits the theme a bit but its a nice presentation. Well done!
This is great! Wonderful feeling of flow, movement and control (Which is more than I can say for my game!) and the music is outstanding! Excellent entry.
echoing some of the above, it is a very dark game and hard to see where you are going. Controls contain a lot of oversteer but I do like the atmosphere and approach. Good stuff.
This is a cool concept and feels really good to play. Nice work!
A lot of fun here :) I like the promise of content messages and the music :D Great entry.
Great presentation and mood. Lovely visuals and striking art choices. A little hard to control and not sure why there needed to be a "death drop" either side, it doesn't feel like it adds anything. A little slow for a tower defense style game but I think that is just a matter of balancing. Nice work.
This took me a while to understand but after a few attempts I got into it :) nice work!
Cool puzzler! Took me a good few goes at the beggining to figure out how to play, but once I did I enjoyed it! :)
This was a cool entry that was fun to play. My one bit of advice would be to make "Pick up" and "throw" the same button. Nice!
RIGHT, this took a while to understand for a few reasons... I actually had to close and restart three times before I understood the game, but am very glad I did.
The opening asks you to press D to move the ant's right.... however, I just endlessly drove them into the right wall. Traditionally, western games tend to move left to right so when I realised this was a right to left game, it all became clear. It is not immediately understandable that your goal is to the left so a simple arrow at the start would help.
Once I understood, the flow and movement was great. The high speeds and jumps felt lovely and the world came to life. Great work!
This was very tricky to play but a cool original idea that shows a lot of potential. Great stuff.
I think it is very punishing to have the enemy rounds home in on you! :) but a fun game nonetheless. Good work!
A Crazy cool entry with some original ideas! :D Good ol dave!
This is great :D It is basically how I should have implemented the mechanic in my game, but you did it so much better! Great job! Solid entry here.
This was pretty good fun and had a great tone to it. The audio really makes the running feel great :)
The visual style and introduction are OUTSTANDING! I love it! Who made the music?! In my best Dethklok voice "it's brutal" I found the actual game quite confusing to play. Took me ages to understand that I needed to jump on the spade. It is very hard to see where the spade will go when you use it too. I was unable to complete the first level... but this was a great entry. Well done!
Quite tricky to play and get right but looks nice and smooth presentation. I have never seen a "Rate" button before and that is a great idea :) Nice!
At first I thought it was using the core mechanic from Fez as people have suggested above, but actually it is subtly different in a cool and puzzle mind bending way. I like what you have done with it! Great entry!
Lovely visuals and tone here. Great stuff. Auto picking up packages and collision can be a bit frustrating but overall it was great. Lovely work.
Looks lovely but quite tricky to control. Especially aiming up and down. The character feels like it gets stuck. Still, a nice entry :)
This is great with a lot of character and heart! Lovely work :)
Not sure I understand the connection between them leaving and sacrifice but a good first entry. Clean and readable :)
This is great. Very well done I very much enjoyed this entry! Great all rounder. Superb!
This is a cool entry. A lot of work in this! Music was a bit much and it can be hard to click on the farmers, but I really like the idea. Great stuff.
Took me a while to realise I could move the sheep! Goo fun if a little too hard :D I like the end of game message too.
I had fun with this and as a first entry this is solid. Nice work!
This was great. Very polished and superb presentation. One issue.. probably more an issue for me as it really bugs me. It's LOSE! not Loose! ;) Great game though, excellent work!
You know, when this started I was ready to be let down, but it really won be over. A Lovely original mechanic that worked well! Great stuff! top marks on Fun and Theme from me :)
@mika-la-grand Hey! Sorry about that. No idea what is going on there. Works on the three systems I have tested it on. Many apologies! I will upload a video of it soon.
@limejuice123 Thanks :) Honestly, I am surprised it is even playable. I threw it together so fast. It's possible to complete it as I saw my wife do it :)
@mika-la-grand and @jakobthequizguy I have uploaded a video of gameplay so that you can see what it is supposed to look like. Apologies for the issues and sorry it isn't working for you!
Thank you for the kind words @coleslaughter :)
Hi all! Gave this a few goes to try to understand it but it is quite tricky. The choice to make the ship "Roll" on left and right instead of Strafe makes flight combat very hard. I didn't realise anything was happening when docking until I noticed the numbers going up. This wasn't until my third playthrough. Music is a little frustrating but the whole thing has the building blocks to make something better. Nice effort!
This will be funny considering what I just made.. but the music is kinda annoying ;) Aside from that, this is a cool idea. Good stuff!
Superb all rounder! Great visuals and tone. I LOVE it when LD games have an intro! Shows care and attention! VEry impressed :)
300897!!! I was ready to skip past this entry but the art style drew me in and I am SO GLAD it did! This was a great fun entry with a lot of charm and care. Well done all!
Cool idea! Only criticism is the enemies are so small I couldn't tell what the desires were!
Drop box link is invalid?
I did it! Eternal retirement! :D This was lovely. A ton of atmosphere for silent game. Moody, great gameplay mechanics, love the addition of the boomers and navigating between them. Upgrade path is clear and immediate. Great!
Love the mood and art style! Took me a while to realise the main character was a 2D sprite! Lovely stuff!
Great entry! love the sound and feeling of panic. The zip cord sound really adds a lot to it. Great work!
Great presentation and feels like a rounded title. Needs a little more depth I feel but a great entry. Nice work.
I found it odd to hit the lollypops at the base instead of the huge pink target like area... but it worked ok when I figured that out :) Nice entry!
Really liked this. A very cool idea and great execution. Lovely stuff.
Takes a while to get to the stage where you can make an actual choice, which limits the early game strategy aspect of a lot of tower defence games. Nice that you have good visuals and audio. What I REALLY Like is the made in Australia part. It is great to let people know where you are from and where the games are made. Great stuff!
Detection area made it confusing for when I could interact but the presentation, animation and audio were solid. Great work.
Nice style and 3d-2d approach. Mechanics are a little fuzzy but cool idea.
Fun game a little tricky on the uptake and was greeted with several back to back deaths but a good submission. Characters are very reminiscent of Night in the Woods (mostly the eyes and eye patch) but it is a good looking and well rounded submission.
Solid entry for a first jam! Be proud! its great!
There is no audio? is that correct? Lovely visual style and striking look. Nice work! One criticism would be that the border effect makes it feel like I am racing from the edge of a table. Great work overall though.
Very well done. Nice all rounder, great visuals and sound, plays well. Good good good :)
This was excellent. The comments in the crowd totally make it. I was having a blast and someone said "yawn" and I was like... WHAT THE HELL!??! and I am happy I was that into it that it triggered that emotion :D Great work!
Nice concept :) very original.
Nice mood and design. Good work!
Straight up, simple and fun :)
Great all rounder here with a lovely mood. Solid entry.
@itsnotagoodtime I am in the process of adding PC support and also uploading a video so I hope that will give you a bigger view of the game. Thanks for playing and I am glad you enjoyed it!
Hey @aret24 ! Here is a walkthrough so you can see the rest of the game! - https://youtu.be/QYS5UNGxLFk
Thanks for the comment and for checking it out.
@aret24 Thanks! It was me! :D I did all the graphics and voices and everything. Sped it up and played with it to make it sound different but yeah, 48 hours compo means only me working on it :D I totally ran out of time on the 4th level so just threw in the last few power ups and left it. There was supposed to be enemies and everything but ah... not enough time. Might make a post Jam version :)
Thanks @kenarf ! I hadn't even considered Roblox inspiration! Just threw together the shapes I had to make a person! :D
Thanks @xcvzxc and @mimusangel ! I think I spent too long on the character and not enough on content :D NEXT TIME!
Thanks @nachtwitch .. I am certainly considering a post compo entry :)
Thanks @hanna-knop ! Glad you liked it :) and yes @bredera the sound is all over the place! I threw it all in during the closing 30 mins of the compo! might fix it in days to come. We will see.
Thanks @narffy
@digital-pie that was supposed to be a shout button but the sound didn't work at submission! :D I had dreams of multiple combos and enemies that didn't quite fit in the time! Punch, shout, block SWORD!
@daria-toni that was the plan! There was supposed to be an arena and all sorts but... just didn't manage to fit it in.
@randomnine Ah thanks :) I maybe spent too long on that polish an ddidn't make it to the rest of the game...
@nachtwitch Thank you! Did what I could with my limited 3D skills :D
@hcursino Thanks! I put in a lot of effort on those things.. at the expense of the rest of the game! Thinking I should really make a full version now :)
Thanks @iak I will let you know!
@team-on hah! no it's actually me! I am just going "hup!" and "Hooaaaaiii" and then speeding it up after I record it :D
Thanks for playing @shaunjs ! I still can't figure out those shapes in your entry.... gave up! I am not smart enough for your puzzle skillz! ;)
Great stuff! Really enjoyed this! :D Glad you are still creating awesome stuff!
Lovely stuff. Great graphics, nice art style, fun to play and great sound. Good all rounder! well done!
This looks really nice and I appreciate the amount of work that went into the animation, parallax and writing. However there is a LOT of text to read before you are allowed to play the game and that is sort of frustrating for the player. I also found that the speech boxes were often off the screen and I had to jump to see them. Nice entry though! good work
Excellent entry! Quick, funny smart and smooth! TOP SCORES!
Really very smooth and well done. Love the puzzle design and introduction of each mechanic. Add a bit of audio to this and you have a great experience! I really like that it is physics rather than grid snapping and the game benefits greatly as a result. Solid!
This was really hard to figure out but I had a lot of fun doing it :) Nice style!
Ok, this is excellent. This is my favourite entry so far. Top marks all round from me. Great entry!
This is really nice. Spent WAAAAY to long playing it. Very addictive :D
ISland.PNG Just adding this here. I am still playing it. REALLY like this. The little touches of animation on the windmill and water are lovely. Sound is supportive but not too intrusive. Great stuff.
Lovely smooth feeling presentation and game. Very nicely done
This is a cool entry!
house.PNG
Made myself a cool hut! :D Nice work!
This is lovely. Really impressed with this. Solid mood, great idea and fun to play. I want to complete this so will come back to it! Great work!
NOOOO!!!! This was great! A ton of heart in this one... but my NOOOO is because the last audio log I collected cut off and the game ended! Never got to hear what the emergency message was! Nice entry :D
Lovely mood and atmosphere. Audio and fog really make it work :)
I got stuck! Played it through to the pyramid temple and there was a puzzle maze game that would not let me move up or left. Oh well, enjoyed what I played and has a lot of content for a jam! Nice work.
Very smooth audio and visuals! Greak work. I did not manage to leave the first room but the atmosphere was lovely.
This was HAAAAAAARD but very smooth and well presented! Great work!
This is wonderful. Great feel, great audio, lovely skill element. I like how the score changes based on range. Very impressed!
Very nicely done. Audio is a bit much after a while but this is a lovely entry. Well done!
Found it pretty hard to actually attack with the sword so reverted to killing by jumping on them all. I like that they have variety in colour too :) A quick note. Is there no sound? I couldn't hear any. If there isn't then you should untick the "audio" category so you don't get marked down. Nice!
Had a lot of fun with this exploring. Good atmosphere and love the lighting of the torches. Couldn't seem to use the sword and didn't see the Minotaur. A small bug that when you press escape, you cant click on QUIT so have to Alt-F4 to leave. Nice entry though! and hi to SAE! I have done a few global game jams in the past there so that building has game jam essence deep within! :D
Lovely mood and presentation. Great audio too. Tricky to play and lacking feedback as mentioned above but there is something cool in there :) good work!
Nice mood and graphics with some really great puzzle and level design. Great work!
Died to Mutiny around 300 people! Really cool though and it makes me want to play again. At first I was clicking to make the three dots disappear on each of the people and didn't realise there were thoughts attached :) Was a nice surprise to find them when holding.
This started strong but ended with a bit of frustration for me. Looks great, neat idea, loved the bouncing and movement of the pad... but there is such a delay on the flippers between hitting the button and them moving that the game get quite hard to play. Bit of balancing and you will be there though!
Thanks @chertkov It is my first time using Blender to make assets for a game jam so yeah, I am glad it worked out okay!
I was aiming for more of a puzzle game than a feeding mechanic but with the time running out it became a bit of both so... let's say YES. It's intentional :D
Thanks @seriouslycrunchy and yeah... the cameras were a mess in the end :D I wanted fixed cameras but ran out of time to smooth them over.
Hi @aret24 ! Yes it's quite a puzzle to figure out the order of things. I tried to make the captain give hints too but it might be too obtuse in areas. There is a big blocky pipe thing at the very top of the room up a ramp... once the core is in place and shielded, it will open when you get near with a cell. The video walkthrough will show you if you are stuck :) Thanks for playing!
@thedashdude Thanks! I tried to make the pieces specific shapes to guide the player so that is cool it came across :D I would never dream of making this a full game :D Just a fun experiment for a jam. Thank you for the kind words and I am glad you enjoyed playing.
Thanks @andidebob ! I had "skip functionality" on my list of things to do.. but it was about 6 items past when I ran out of time :D
@kekkodude Glad you had such an emotional rollercoaster! I did have the plan to make it time out but again, barely scraped in on time so left that one to the drawing board.
Thanks @daniil-tcyvakin , They were not as easily spottable as I had hoped.
Thank you @emperor-eagle and @landerack for the feedback and kind words :)
Thank you everyone for the support and cool feedback!
@jonaspk Thank you! this was my first compo using blender so a lot more time was spent on making assets than gameplay and you are right, it shows :)
@david-knox Thank you! glad you enjoyed playing
@almax Button Prompts! yes of course :D I even did that in my last jam and should have thought of it here. Next time! :D
@avi Thank you and I am glad the walkthrough helped!
What a great set of comments to wake up to this morning. Thank you again everyone!
G
Thank you @polegar I do tend to throw a lot into LD :D
I am a sucker for cool lighting effects and dark mood so this was a great entry for me :) nice work!
Wonderful mood on this :) the rapid clicking somewhat impacts the calm nature of the atmosphere, but peaceful mode was much appreciated. Nice work!
I got too frustrated and quit after the second section of identical platforms with gaps between them. Game seemed to be more about luck with physics than any kind of feel and control. I did like the mood and presentation though :)
I really struggled to understand this but gave it a good try! I think less text explanation and more diagrammatic information may help. Nice mood and visuals though :)
I give this high scores all round. Really nice implementation, great plate spinning mechanics that don't get old. Very well done!
This is an amazing entry. Great execution, great writing, amazing mood and visuals, gah! wonderful work! Great acting too! :D I love it!
I really like the writing in this. Play a videogame? WE ALREADY ARE!
Great stuff
Wonderful! :D loved it! Really great fun, wonderful music and full on panic :)
Lovely visuals and I love that the subtle lighting changes affect difficulty. Very nicely done. I would request a "roll" Function as due to the design of the ship, left and right turns are harder than up and down and fitting through the smaller gaps would be more thrilling with a roll :)
Really nicely done here. I Wasn't sure when I saw the candle on the opening screen, but as the game progressed with the quotes and the terrifying robot bee I was sold. Really great stuff. Tonnes of mood!
I really liked this. The graphic style, the in-world instructions, the puzzle elements obscuring view etc. Really great! :D Well done
Ok, full marks here for graphics. Wonderful presentation, style and execution. Really nicely done. There are a couple of glitchy control moments, mostly around when the spear re-appears and if you are aiming when you get knocked out of orbit. Aside from that, this was solid. Really liked it :)
Well I am not sure what was going on, but it looks lovely :)
Cool simple game for the time you have :) Nicely focused and a well rounded end result. Keep it up!
This is lovely. A ton of mood in this kept me going. Lovely sound. Started getting a bit anxious around the 60 seconds left mark, but was so relieved to see that dawn screen. Great work.
The enemies in this are BRUTAL! but I love the visual style :)
Nicely done. Good all rounder. Solid visuals, movement, graphics and sound. Well done :)
This went through a few stages of processing for me. When it started I didn't realise the red bar was health, for some reason I assumed a flying carpet... and then when I started taking damage, the whole level swapped in my head from 2D side-on to 2D top down! :D I enjoyed it though and great visuals and audio.
Nicely done and great audio too. Tough getting killed a lot and restarting but it's that kinda game so I think it's okay here. Great work!
Excellent graphics and mood here. I liked the balance of movement vs drain. Nice design.
Great stuff, really loved this. Cool idea, nice execution feels great. Only criticism I have is the collision is a little unforgiving on the back end but it's a minor thing. Great work!
Cool graphics and mood but the game did keep breaking for me. The cart kept falling of the screen which hindered the game a lot. Lovely visuals though :)
This is a great concept that shows something I had never considered. I am typing this very fast, so I assume that I have a great ability to type fast... WRONG.. As I tried this game I realised that finding individual keys when they are not part of a word or the flow of a sentence is CRAZY hard! so much so that I was missing what was happening around the game! I concentrated more on my next turn but yea, fascinating stuff. Great stuff
I managed it but it was close! turning into a maze was mean! ;) Only because you can't see if the route is wrong until it is too late. Still, a nice idea and the sharing mechanic worked well.
Nice idea with a cool "one more try" feel to it. Great entry :)
My highest score was 12 but it was cool. you seem to be able to kill people before they are on screen which is not ideal but still. A cool entry :)
Love that it is voiced and looks so stylish! Really great stuff.
What an elegant entry! I love the simplicity of this yet the great engagement. There is a subtle balance here where you CAN hold to shoot... but actually mashing the keys allows it to be faster which is a great player trade off/choice. I like this a lot. Nice work!
ahahahaa! this has a ton of heart and a great audio :D game is a bit like a guessing game of left and right as once a fan turns one way, the other player has only a little chance to react but it is still a great submission. Love the audio and music! Wonderful.
WOW! I have just come back to all these amazing comments! Thank you so much. I will reply in line! :D
@sisuisa - Thank you! I had a lot of fun making the sounds with old bits of metal and lego and a metal tin lid :D
@jk5000 - Thank you and yes! good shouts :) I tried to make it play music but having a song play took something away from the dated "clacky" feel of it all.
@jammygunns - that means a lot! :D It's so rare to have someone see the game in dev and then come back to comment like that. I really appreciate the kind words, thank you.
@lain94 - You are most welcome my fellow jammer. This was a joy to make and I am proud to see so many people enjoying it.
@akitl - I have a few old games like this still from my childhood. I feel like breaking them out to play in celebration!
@pascalbros - thank you! All hand made!
@wisstopher - the legend who walks among us! thank you good sir. I tried hard with this one.
@miller - that is an awesome idea to develop. I wanted to make one of these games but one that could not possibly exist due to the tech at the time, so making a modular one with add-ons entirely fits that. Really nice idea.
@croze - 790 is good! Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it
@soloadventurergames - aaah thank you! So much kindness here!
@gamedevtraum - Thank you! I am somewhat overwhelmed by the positive feedback here.
@quasilyte - I always fail to make web exports as my games are too big gig wise! Maybe I will aim for a small game memory wise next time and aim to host it :)
@incd021 - I made the sounds! I used bits of lego a screw, a metal tin lid, a spring, all sorts! Thank you so much for the postive feedback.
I am off to play and rate all your games, if I haven't already!
Thank you so much again!
Aaah, thank you @leviathonk ! The theme for me was that when I was a kid with no videogames and dreams of space... this was the space we got! A limited, wind up arcade version :D glad you enjoyed it though and I appreciate the feedback.
@fnkee so glad is has resonated with folks :D you know I even added that hidden system factor... when the rocket goes out you get 100points for hitting it... but if you can hit it on its way back you get 200! I wanted to add a secret like that as back in the day, pre internet, that stuff was like myths and legends passed between people. Ace high score too! Thank you so much for playing and the kind comments.
@mahalis aaah thanks :D I am generally a console player first so I am always thinking about how to use pad controls. I always make sure to include PC though as best I can :D there isn't that much fidelity change but yeah, it is noticeable. I might try a patch with mouse controls for aiming.. but thanks for playing and the great feedback!
@drumgadget-433 This is so great to hear! From growing up in that time I kinda channeled my younger self and wanted to make something that I would have loved as a kid.
@javasaurus This comment moved me more than you know. Thank you so much. Being able to recreate a tenth of that feeling would have made me proud but this is just incredible to hear. Thank you.
@srynetix PERFECT?!? aaah thank you! This one has really hit home for a lot of people it seems.
@sentmoraap I am tempted to dig out my old toys to see, but I have a feeling they won't play as well anymore! :D
aah thanks @a1stakesauce ! (You know I have never ever tried A1 steak sauce... I don't think we can even get it in the UK!) Funny story with the balls flying out... there is complete invisible collision around the case, but with direct controls you can shake it enough for them to fly out!... so as a safety measure, there is a trigger below the case that if the balls fall out and into, they get destroyed and respawned in the game :D Good spot and thanks for the wonderful kind words.
thanks @soul-grinder ! Audio was a lot of experimenting with tin lids, ball bearings, marbles, lego and nails :D
Hey @hakro ! Thanks for the kind words. It's my first jame where I created scratch textures and anything like realistic visuals so I am very happy with it.
And yes, totally @strangeryann ! I added the instructions with about 2 minutes left on the jam so they were a panic last minute addition. If I had thought of it earlier I would totally have done that :D best I could manage was making them pop back up if you toggle the credits :D great shout though and thank you for the kind feedback.
OH boy I am I glad I clicked on this one. Lovely game! Really nice idea, executed well. I wasn't sure what to think when it started but within two moves I understood. Easy to pick up, tricky to master. Wonderful stuff.
Nice entry here and I had fun playing. I was confused that my "bullet damage" was going up so the numbers seemed like they were larger... but it was still taking three shots to kill each one... which didn't make it feel more powerful at all! :D Love the tradeoff of space for power though. Nice!
really nice level of polish here! You know the only criticism I have is that the visuals are so good, they made the sound feel out of place! :D Such a high bar set in the mood and graphics the audio was left behind! :D Lovely work though and something very moreish when playing it. Nice flow. Great work!
Lovely entry here with a solid mechanic that is very well executed. Nice work!
Nice feel and flow to the gravity! Looks smooth too :)
REALLY good game this. I thought it was going to be a standard block pusher, but then after several attempts at Level 07 I realise I was hooked. Lovely work
Top Humour and mood in this one. Great little narrative and a ton of atmosphere. Nice work the creed! :D
aaaah this game oozes style :D wonderful mood and humour and fun to play. Excellent entry.
AAAH! I was already so impressed by the game and then I discover there is a leaderboard too?!?! this is an immense achievement in the 48 hours. Lovely stuff. Played this for a LOT longer than I should have! I have other games to rate but I feel like I will come back to this one many times.
nice entry. As someone who made a semi phsyics based game, I appreciate the difficulty here in balance! :D I will echo the comments above about speed and audio, but a nice idea. Well done.
I really like the twist on the classic pusher theme. Also, extra impressed at the level design conveying the fact you can pull "across" the gaps on level 4 I think. Great stuff. Only crit I have is the controls got a bit frustrating after a few levels. Lovely entry though
This is a nice simple concept with a fun and frantic way of starting! I did two levels but they seemed to repeat?
Nice idea and a solid entry.
REALLY nice stuff here. I was enjoying it already and then unlocked the music and was HOOKED! Great work!
took me a while to realise that I couldnt serve till the bar was red, but once that clocked I had fun with this. Nice work!
I had to restart about 3 or 4 times as I kept pulling the veg out before it was ready! I did manage to get Carrots right though. Wonderful submission here with top graphics and sounds. Great work.
Played in browser an genuinely enjoyed this one. I have to say, the layered music makes it! I love the way it starts simple and then adds to the tension as it builds. Really nice work. fun game!
GOODNESS ME This is hard! But had several goes as this was a lovely entry. Great work on the feel of the movement and ship and the writing! :D Great visuals too and supporting audio. Top marks all round actually!
You know, I had a lot of fun with this. it has a ton of atmosphere and mood and although the gameplay is simple, there is a rhythm to it and a flow that goes with the aesthetic. I love the fact there is a story and it feels very polished as a game entry. there is only one bit I would make a suggestion about which is I kept wanting to press "Space" to drop the items at the counter instead of it being automatic, but that is just a personal preference. Nice work team!
This started really intruiging, but lost me when the turns happened. Then I ignored the mouse and just played with the keys and had a WAY better time :D Really loved the ending and the bit with the apple (apple?). Nice entry and Great sound!
This is EXCELLENT. I don't know if you have heard of it, but the mechanics remind be of a board game called "Santorini". Adding blocks on a grid to build up. This was wonderful fun and I played it a good few times. Really enjoyed this
This is really great. Very much enjoyed this one. Top marks for mood and audio here. Lovely mix of simple visuals and classic gameplay. Love it.
Yeah, I really got into this game! :D Not only is it like.. three/four game ideas in one, but the fact there is different music per level shows a real dedication to the amount of work on this one. Only confusing part for me is I wasn't clear why each level ended? but really great nonetheless. Nice work.
You know... I have been doing Ludum Dare for maybe... 10 years or more? And this is the first entry I have ever played with fully voiced and acted FMV cutscenes. Maybe I have missed some but this is a first! Great creative work! :D
This was too much for me to get my head around! :D But I really appreciate the design and effort here. Great entry! top marks for innovation
I was a bit confused at this one but I appreciate the effort that has gone into it. My light kept flashing on and off and E didn't seem to do anything? Great mood and graphics though!
REALLY nice work here. Top level of visuals and game feel. I gave it a few goes and got to 5 days left, but those "asteroid" style baddies that split into two got me :D Lovely entry. Well done.
This may be most favourite game so far! It feels amazing to play, lovely sound and visuals and the reforming ground is a ton of fun with longevity too. Something about it conjours up a vibe from games like Bubble bobble and snow bros which is wonderful. This is a great entry, you should feel proud. Top marks all round from me.
SOLID entry here in 48 hours and wonderful mood! I enjoyed this, nice work!
Top marks on mood and audio here. Very stylish entry, lovely work.
HIGH RATINGS for mood and humour on this one! Fun fact, I actually used to work on the Harry Potter games at EA many years ago... something feels... familiar! ;)
nice work team!
Nice visual; style and concept here. Took a few goes to work out what was happening but a nice game. Well finished!
This has a nice feel to moving and playing with the shapes and I love the color transfer mechanic! Graphics are nice and stylish with the hand-drawn approach! :D Great stuff.
I enjoyed noodlign with this and seeing how it all worked, but I could not figure out the rules. Nice to play with though and a cool achievement
AH, thank you both @jcmonkey and @josang1567 I am off to play your games this evening :)
Woah! I have just come back to this after a few days and am so happy to see all these comments! Thank you!
@bentglasstube , yes totally agree on the controls. I went through a few versions of movement but ended up sticking with what I have based on a suggestion from a friend... HE KNOWS WHO HE IS! :D
@rasblo thanks for the kind words and yep, you are right! while I am happy with what I made, it lacks in all the areas you mention :) I couldn't quite get the lighting to work for the demon views so ended up trying to bring the objects closer.
@wisstopher thanks for playing! A lot of people struggle with the controls so don't feel bad! and if you pick up blender, you can have a ton of fun with making visuals!
@jonathan-vinesar thanks for playing and yes, controls ended up being a problem as many have said here :)
@andriybyelikov so glad you got to the twist! It was a last minute addition and panic implementation to fix it all up!
@helicule navigation ended up being an issue due to lighting and fast/panic level design :)
@foursay I messed with a few movement modes and settled on this. From all teh comments, I think it was the wrong choice!
@chiara-sanviti Thank you! Quite happy with those bits :)
will check out all your games in the next few days! Thanks again!
oooooooooh now this was something special. Top marks from me on this. Really great stuff.
Really enjoyed this. The "little something extra" at the end was lovely. Nice work!
Top marks for Audio and Graphics! :D great entry guys. I got to the end and entered the Giant Rabbit Cave! :D WooooT!
Lovely entry! A ton of heart and charm and great idea. Looks and sounds nice too. Great entry
Lovely mood and atmosphere but I didn't once guess the right creature! :D still had fun though. nice entry!
You know I started this, ran out of salt FAST and couldn't work out how to get more. Was playing on keyboard and was about to give up... So I dug out my controller and tried again and it is a different game on pad! I then worked out how to collect the Salt which I totally missed from the above instructions and had a really good play! Gave it several goes. Really nice crunchy sounds on shooting and collecting, tied it together nicely. Solid entry.
This is one of those looks simple but has a ton of depth games. I played this for waaaay longer than I thought I would :D Lovely graphics, clean implementation. I know you say above that you copied the game concept, but this is a really nice execution of it. Good job.
Graphics are lovely and looks nice. Failed first game but realised that it seems to be mostly about collecting as much as you can to overwhelm the baddies. Missing audio is a shame but a lovely entry.
This was really cool! I thought it looked simple but the more I played the more I got into it. I liked the quick restart on R allowing me to try a lot of things. the last level was really nicely done. Great work .
I am not sure I was playing it right as I could not get any of the spawned things to move or do anything. If I placed an angle next to an enemy it did damage so I ended up spawning them on top of everything to complete the game? Lovely sound and mood though :)
This was LOVELY! You had me with the opening music, but the experimentation with each of the characters was cracking fun. Lovely work.
I am ashamed to say I did not reach the end or work out the puzzle! I got a grey box light thing, then was told not to turn around, then was looking at some colours changing. I explored a lot but got stuck. Tonnes of mood in this though and lovely audio. nice entry :)
Wonderful art style and audio. a ton of heart has gone into making this and it shows. I was so stuck though... I didn't get anywhere aside from lifting the bottle but had no idea where to take it. Only when I watched the playthrough video above did I see that you could open the gate!
Took me a few goes to get going but then it was really nice. Great entry, nice puzzle design and smart approach.
Most complete entry I have played so far. Great stuff. love the mood and story. Only feedback I have is that when told to go "to the red light"... the brightest red light area I could see was the apartment, so I went the wrong way! :D Lovely game though. nice work.
TOP MARKS ALL ROUND from me here. Lovely entry, great mood and graphics, lovely idea and well executed.
Hot damn I love the style of this one. Top marks on mood, graphics and theme from me! Wonderful.
Thanks @bloomworks @wisstopher and @martta ! Off to play yours today and tomorrow. Thank you for all the lovely comments.
@sam-bigos Thanks Sam! honestly, I started at "Get the ducks on the road" and everything else fell into place to support that ;)
@sdcorpse Thank you!
@oldzombie14 Even with the death, its cute. I will take it! :D
@trioxxdreaper The instructions are on the page which explain how to play above, guess you missed those? - "Get all the ducks to the mummy duck and then ONTO THE ROAD! Look out for cars and drains!" Didn't have time to implement custom controls or different configs though. Maybe next time?
@griperis - Aaah thanks for persevering! The punches give you "duck food" which you can drop to attract the ducks away from Hazards
@jellyfishhunter haha! thank you! People seem to either scream OR laugh :D
@quasilyte Amazing structured feedback! Thank you for taking the time to write this, I really appreciate it.
The interesting thing for me to see here is what failed to come together. The answer to your questions and suggestions are actually inside the feedback itself! the sacks are duck food! and they were the "mid mechanic" introduced half way through that add a bit of gameplay texture. Looking back at it having recovered from my lack of sleep.. I think all I needed to do was add an "A" icon or "SPACE" under the sack UI to tell people it was something they could actually use rather than a score of some kind. I didn't tell players this anywhere!
The suggestion of two mumma ducks is a great idea. Also, naturally we have the "spots and stripes" approach on the ducks which gives a natural divide already! :) maybe a post jam version if I feel inclined...
Thanks again for the write up!
@wispeh Good shout on the duck distance! I did actually plan to have a directional indicator for when the momma duck tries to leave but comes back because there are ducks left, but a distance one would be useful too I think. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@pincushion honestly, I am just happy that you worked out how to use them! From the feedback above, very few people worked that out :D mind you, I didn't actually tell anyone in the game HOW to use them so...my bad!
@paroxysmal It comes from a phrase that someone I work with says - "We need to get our ducks on the road" I took that concept and just ran with it and didn't question it :D Thanks for playing!
@kaiynest and @googoobachoo I have found that people either react with laughter or complete horror! :D I will take that as a success in evoking emotion. Thanks both for playing.
aaah @wubbaduck !! Nooo! I hope with your username you felt some affinity for the plight of the ducks and their momma! :D Thanks for the feedback and glad you had fun!
@ellaris yes! I ended up liking that aspect in the end as it means that you have to be super careful towards the end with more drains etc, but glad you enjoyed playing :D
@fint very fair feedback and yes, totally right. I had no time to balance levels or layouts in the end so I was just glad it worked honestly :)
@greymouth AAAH AMAZING! that video was in my head the WHOLE TIME I was making this! :D glad it landed with humour!
Thanks everyone for the feedback and time playing.
Thanks @bentglasstube ! yeah, it definitely needed a balance pass, but I am just glad it was functional at the end of the 48 hours! :D
@tanis yeah, the bags are a thing for sure :) As above, with the timing of transitions and the balance of the difficulty etc. i just didn't get to it. That's awesome that you made something similar too! ace feedback, thank you.
Aaah thanks all! @impiaaa I threw the level design together last minute in the closing hours, so yet, you are absolutely right, needs more thought :D @ugly-robot I ended up being quite a fan of the wind-up expanding arc as the ducks move as it lead to some fun unexpected moments :) Glad it resonated @commanderstitch YESSS!!!! Great work! I needed to do WAY more onboarding in the game, but honestly ran out of time. I didn't even include instructions on how to use the food which means most people missed that :) Thank you for persevering and getting to the end :D
@sockenpuppe what a lovely review! This has made my evening! Thank you so much for taking the time to play and respond. I really appreciate it
This is lovely! Great multi stage mechanic, great visuals and really nice implementation. very nice work
lovely stuff! one of your best yet. Killer audio and mood specifically. Yes, the game is hard, but it is the type of game that you want to keep playing as it is compelling.
I got stuck at the first bridge that vanishes when the light is removed. Could not figure a way past it. Lovely visuals, sound and mood though.
aaaauh this is LOVELY! every time I put butter in the pan when I make food now I will think of this. A Ton of charm and lovely visuals and audio. High marks from me here. Wonderful!
THIS is wonderful! Really well put together. Who made the "Yoda" laugh noise?! :D Lovely feel to play, amazing audio and art, top marks all around. Great work.
Gosh this is wonderful. Really spectacular, a ton of mood and heart and honestly, potentially the best thing I have played this Ludum Dare. As a big fan of "In Other Waters" This has really caught me. Superb entry, well done.
This is a cool idea! I noodled with this for a while. Got stuck on the 5th level I think but really enjoyed it. Cool art too :) nice.
I REALLY loved the mood and feel of this one. Great use of minimal audio to set the tone. The effects when things start to go wrong are wonderful. Nice work.
Short but sweet! Lovely graphics, mood and audio! Great work.
I mean... I don't want to brag but.. it turns out I am THE BEST MICROBE MATCHER IN THE WORLD! :D Really enjoyed this one. Lovely mood and graphics, cool scenes a lot of love in this one. Only criticism is that I found it tricky to place them occasionally, but minor really. Great work
Simple game, fun to play but honestly, the art stands out for me. I LOVE the bug designs! :D Fun to noodle with. Nice work!
This is lovely! The playmat art style really works and its a fun idea! Great work.
You know... this took me at LEAST a couple of minutes to figure out how to start it. I was pressing all buttons on my keyboard and game pad and thought it was bugged. Then realized I could click and move the windows. I am SO glad I did as this is great. A sort of structured clicker with excellent writing and a wonderful end! Really enjoyed this. Lovely work.
gravity.png
Nice audio and graphics on this. I tried slow but realised I needed to spam baloons to play properly. Also, awesome that you have a leaderboard! nice work.
Nice work! Played this for a good amount of time and found it quite addictive. Lovely compo entry! nice work!
Great sound and visuals. I was confused at the beggining as I thought 0 Thirst and 0 Food meant the pet didn't need any of these things. It was only after a while of petting and playing that I realized it was the other way around! Nice entry
GAAAAH I really love this. A great entry, nice balance, "One more go" all over it :D Excellent work!
Well the bullets seem to come out of the cannon the wrong way and I am not sure what effect they are having... but the music is nice! :D
struggled with resolution issues in browser, but got through it :) nice entry!
A LOT of work has gone into this and it shows. Really nicely done. I have to echo what @andrewkennedy says above though, I ended up just holiding space and hoping and got stuck at the same place roughly. Great work on the intro, onboarding and audio though. Love that the main character is tapping their foot to the music!
Excellent work here. Love the style and art approach! really stands out. Very nice.
First off, I love the style and the effort behind this. Great work for a compo and really hangs together as a presentation. Unfortunately I just could not get past the first level. I tried nearly all the cards and was confused when it said the enemy uses suppressing fire, so I chose a card to make my troops immune from it? but they still died. I feel like I am missin something! :) Still gets high marks from me though. Nice work!
@quasilyte aaah! my bad! I will give this another go :) got a lot of entries to play but will come back and try again on this one. It looks worth it :D
I got it straight away but it took my friend "Wiss" AGES to get it. You had me at Shoe.
Just wanted to post and say sorry to hear it didn't work out. I have had many Jams fall apart in the closing hours and it is always frustrating. Hang in there and best of luck with your future creations!
I love this. Really great mood and atmosphere and as a tool/toy/game experience it has a lot of experimentation and reward. The achievements/goals are a wonderful touch and the graphics are literally outstanding. Every time! A lot of care and skill in this one. Stand out work.
I enjoyed this but found that the movement animation on the sword made it very hard to see if the character was attacking or not. I managed to climb quite high but then found a near impossible jump and fell! Will come back later to give it another go.
This is lovely. Really enjoyed the carving pumkin and then the surprise of the mouse joining! Got stuck at the door though as after I slashed the vines, the mouse nor cat could go through. Lovely audio and visuals though.
It's like a more forgiving flappy bird! :D Nice artwork and mood
HAve to agree with the above. The movement being character relative and not camera relative was too tricky with the restriction of space. However, lovely presentation and style. Not a fan of the death shout though!
I too was unable to start the game :( The web version didnt start at all so I downloaded the zip file to try too and that just wont let me click on start at all. IT looks promising though and I really wanted to check it out. Let me know if you have any idea on how to fix this pls.
Great mood and message in this one. Nice work
Well I managed to talk to a frog.. If I head out BEFORE the conversation I think I can lick some plants?... But If I have a talk to the frog BEFORE I go out, I get a cutscene of a smoking frog that never ends. Lovely art and music though!
came to check this out as I remember your great work on Microwars. Lovely little "stanley parable light" here :) nice work
This is great to see, we have mad a very similar core mechanic to each other! :D I love the execution and mood of yours, has the "unfinished swan" feel to it and a real sense of mood. Great stuff!
ezdgbhn.png
REALLY interesting puzzle game and one I can imagine lots of people clicking with, but I really struggled to work this one out :) managed the first couple but got stuck soon after. Wonderful mood and audio though, great presentation.
I really liked this game but it took me a few tries to get the feel of the grapple right! I could imagine the sounds in my head. Nice entry!
Really well done, meaningful and personal. Really impressed there are language options too. Great entry.
This is WONDERFUL! So fun, cute, charming, hell of a mood, funny, compact... just great stuff all around. Top marks honestly, this is a great entry.
Hey there! I really wanted to play this as I used to work in VR a few years back and am still passionate about it. I am on a RiftS and when I boot, I have no way to move out of the initial room. I can jump and the right hand controller is visible, but aside from that, I can't move! Any ideas? Will definitely give it another go if you have a workaround. Great entry anyways for trying VR! :)
EDIT: I think it is my setup... left controller not recognised! Apologies! Will give it another go later :)
I did it! Great work :) humor was ace, awesome mood and lovely effects. Great work!
Nice game here, gave it a few goes and really enjoyed trying to defend the brick makers.
Woah! thanks all! Once I have slept I will swing by to check out your entries!
@javasaurus I have been practicing speed building stuff in Blender and managed to churn out a lot for usable assets that let me build this world. I recommend this guy for inspiration!
https://youtu.be/IVXuPJuAMJ4?si=kCWeTIEbl6303L7b
and thank you for playing and for the kind words.
@psychomonster wow thanks! high praise indeed! :D I had some fun learning shader tech to get the pulse working etc. Glad it has impressed :)
@thisyc gosh thank you! I am quite happy with how this one turned out. A LOT went into it!
@croze these are excellent finds! Thank you. Yes the escape one is a sticky one that I JUST fixed with a small update. Two buttons callign the same function. 1am blueprint spaghetti! and the main menu needs the dpad, you are correct. I couldn't get the sticks working and don't want to add functionality post-compo as that breaks the rules. and YES YES YES! I DID have that exact thing! But what I learned was it was impossible to balance with the spaces I had and the time left, so ended up leaving it to the player to kit the enemies away. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
Thanks @wisstopher ! I toyed with the idea of devices you could ping that would explode and kill the drones, but alas... time!
@greenradiation thank you! And yeah... Optimisation is NOT my strong suit! :D I barely managed to throw it all together and make it work in time
@zowell thanks! It means a lot
@gamwscodedogs yeah! Most of my entries are. I got very fast at blender and blueprints and l recently started learning shader stuff :)
wow! Just back from a short holiday and catching up on comments.
@volkolak thank you! and yes, I desperately wanted to balance both the speed, range and recharge rate, but just ran out of time. Next time or maybe a post jam version...
@eugenik thank you! :D audio came it late and hot
@langotriel Thanks! I do give it my all with minimal sleep. I will look into making games professionally... sounds fun!! ;)
@amolker thanks for the feedback! I noticed post release that the scaffolding does not receive the light which dampens everything :(
@torte478 Thankyou! Means a lot
@vegeo yeah, same as the above comments, I need to work out why it isn't having the effect it had in editor!
@missfire thanks for the kind words! and yeah, I think I needed to make the layouts way simpler as people seem to get stuck on them.
Thanks everyone for playing!
wow! Thanks everyone!
@devilxrom - Thank you! so glad it landed well for you
@moondweller - aaaah thank you! this level of feedback is great. I absolutely agree with every point you have made too and can only answer with the old - "Ran out of time" excuse! I should probably have done one level less and more polish but I really try to push myself to get as much in as possible. Really wish I had left more detailed feedback for you on Spear Bird now as I really enjoyed it. It was reminiscent of "Luftrausers" but original in it's own way. It stuck out to me!
@commanderstitch - thanks for the kind word and glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to balance for more situations where you need to use the device but have enemies near... maybe one day!
@geckoo1337 Hah! that is great to hear, and yes! I have been working in games since 2001! Thrilled that you can see it in my work :D
@yorsh Thank you for the awesome feedback! I wanted to try to balance it so that using the pulse was a risk but one players would take, but some of the levels and situations just mean that players don't use it, as you describe! :D and yeah... audio came in WAY late and the doors seem to fire the sound multiple times and the sound itself doesn't fit at all!
@moondweller yeah, we didn't get into games to manage time!! :D see you next jam!
aaah thank you @guitarbro ! Mutual appreciation here for your entry! :) I am not the best at textures and shading but am trying to learn. Spot on feedback!
You know, I was playing this like "this is too punishing.. the player needs more time..." and then gave it another 5-6 goes trying to get better at it! That means it is just about right :D Nice work!
Excellent audio and sprites in this. Lovely feel and the feel of hitting enemies is wonderful. Lovely stuff.
you know, I am giving this top marks in all listed categories here. it is a wonderful entry, excellent mood and writing, graphics really tie it all together. Wonderful.
really tricky the first few times and then I got into the rhythm. Nice!
Great audio and mood on this one. Feels lovely to play too.
Very nicely done. Enjoyed this one, cool concept,. fits the theme and feels great to play.
Really enjoyed this! A good balance of puzzle and narrative and a lovely ending too! I thought the mechanics felt good to use, were intuitive and well paced. I feel like you made a great toolkit that could be expanded to a bigger game with time! A bit of practice with blender and your levels could become MAGIC! but as it is, the low poly style has its own charm. Great work as always :D
I really vibed with this. Nice entry and well put together. Has that "Hundreds" feel to it which is a great thing.
nice little digger game here. I started going down as the theme is depth but then hit an artificial wall pretty fast, so ended up going upwards! :D I didn't realise the arrows were harpoons, but when I did it made a difference. Cool entry!
UPDATE! - My son saw me playing and wanted to try and he absolutely loves it! (he is 8) and "Killing the Martians with the spikes!" :D thank you!
Played this for WAY longer than I should have with all the other games I need to rate! :D My kids also loved this and got to 159,000 sheep counted before the frame rate and audio tanked :D Lovely entry, nice work, ton of heart and one I will remember. Well done all!
This was fantastic. Absolutely brilliant experience. I was aiming for something similar with my entry, but this has far surpassed it in mood and atmosphere and I am VERY jealous of your audio! it really ties it all together. Love the use of minimal assets and the feel of the facility you have made. Although I am solo and doing the compo so I will give myself a break! :D Fantastic stuff. Really well done.
Just coming back here again to say that I have been playing this with my kids all afternoon and we have loved it. Noticing all the little touches like the ball rolling in when close, the eyes adding so much character to it and the shot count on the flags. Really nice stuff!
oooh the animation on the main character is LOVELY in this! Great work. Took me a few goes to realise I needed to return to the sub to empty my pockets, but really got into this. Nice.
Music and mood were lovely, VERY tricky trying to defend when the enemies appear! but enjoyed this a lot. Nice work.
aAAAH This is a lovely entry! Pure and great feeling, has a "one more go" feel to it, great music and vibes. Super!
The down strike seems to kill in one shot whereas the regular attack takes a few. This means I only used downstrike but still had a great time :D Good entry!
Top marks for graphics and mood here. Looking at your past entries you have a really clean and wonderfully minimal visual style that works very well for these types of games. Very nice stuff!
Nice game here, cool concept and love the visuals. Audio gets a bit much the more you play but really glad it has it! Nice work.
Nice straightforward upgrade path and some really nice mood here. Great audio too!
Gaaaah this looks gorgeous. Feels nice to play and has a ton of atmosphere. Nicely done.
Played this with my daughter (8) and she really liked it. She said - "Its really creepy, but I like it when you are fishing out the ghosts" There are a ton of systems in here and I can see why the game is so huge to make! Glad you finished it as we had a lot of fun with it. Great entry
Lovely loop here, great fun and has that "one more go" feel to it. Nice work!
This was lovely and a fun little entry... Until my son and wife saw me play and THEN IT WAS A CONTEST My wife won with 42m... This captured our time!
This is great. One of the most "Complete" games I have played. GREAT puzzle flow and design, some really nice touches, I love the statues tell the story and had be intrigued enough to play through to the end. Can't offer much criticism other than I didn't realise the green engine was making the main gate door open till the end and maybe add a sound for when an item hasn't worked, but these are VERY minor things. Great entry here, really nice work.
oooh lovely mechanic playing with the idea of depth, fun shooter with a nice mood. Great stuff
Really love the audio and mood in this one. Was stuck for AGES at the start though as I didn't read the instructions and nothing advanced the text :D
DAMN YOU!!! DO you know how many games I need to play right now? And then you go and make something addictive and compelling like this and I keep playing it! :D Seriously wonderful entry here. Maybe my favorite so far. Perfect balance of progress, zen and self added pressure. Having to choose between upgrades and fixing the base is a lovely touch. audio is fantastic and doesnt become repetitive. I really like this one. Well done.
I love a good character swap game like Trine etc. Nice entry and a lot of fun to play.
Really nice! It actually took me a few deaths to realise that the enemies are turn based and only move when you do! I was burning through it quickly so it just looked fluid. Only criticism realy is the choice of E to dig. On one hand the game gets fiddly! Wonderful entry though
the digital input on what feels like it should be an analogue game really threw me, but I pressed on and enjoyed this. Lovely audio work too! :)
Firstly, this looks lovely with a lot of mood in the audio, great work there. I was shocked by the acceleration coming off the swing! and I think the falling damage is a bit too strict, but something good here.
Really novel idea and engaging to play! Loved the audio and mood of this one :)
High scores from me here for mood, audio and theme, great atmosphere and nice feel.
I really like this. I also laughed at the idea of rescuing someone who is like "Here is $200!" :D Great entry
really loved this one. Tope marks in a few categories! Choice to use a sprite as the main character paid off nicely. The layered audio as the game gets more complete was lovely. I found it frustrating to have to collect ALL of the gems, it would have been nice if they floated towards you and collected. the placement of the hives was a bit off as I expected it to be where I was standing, not the direction I was facing and then could not move them after placement. All minor things though, a very satisfying and solid entry. Great work
Gaaaah this is SO CLEAN! I love it. Pure form and design, really nicely done.
HOT DAMN! This is an excellent entry. Top marks for audio from me. Graphics looked great, killer mood too. Really nice stuff. I NEARLY stopped playing as I thought it was bugged out. the end of the tunnel was blocked, so I thought I needed to backtrack, so I ended up back in the fall room and then went al the way back to the blockage before the level progressed. Glad I stuck with it as the later levels have some lovely atmosphere. one HUGE plus point I want to add.. the changing footstep sounds on each floor type REALLY added to the mood. Wonderful stuff. Great work.
Gaaah this is a good one. Very engaging, lovely balance mechanic, great audio, top marks for mood. Lovely work.
I like the mix of 2D spites and 3D assets. Also, fun to hear the default unreal shooting sound and see the doom guy! :D
Gaaaah you know what? I very rarely give 5 stars accross the board, but this really won me over. Just a wonderful little experience with some great storytelling, exudes a ton of charm and just wow... really great. Just what I needed today too. Thank you Screenshot 2025-04-24 135215.png
Very sensitive controls and has the same issue I think my game has of being too punishing on the falling :D But a lovely mood and audio here, nicely done.
Wonderful mood and visuals. I Would have given top audio marks too but you have opted out of audio? A shame as the changing music when the shark arrives was lovely. Great entry here, a lot of polish and smooth visuals. Solid!
Really wanted to push through this but couldn't get anywhere. Sorry, probably on me for missing something.
Top marks on humour! We laughed a LOT at the sudoku appearance :D Great work!
Really enjoyed this. Lovely chill audio, death sound is awesome! love the feel of changing direction on thrust and the mental math of accepting damage for health to prevent the black hole expanding. Solid work.
had a few goes at this but unfortunately never managed to find anything. The mood is great, and I have to call out the excellent font and UI design! :) Solid entry and intriguing.
hah! fun little one this! :) love the sound effects and collecting coins is satisfying. Nice!
really quite hard! :D but lovely concept and sprites
I am not really one for precision jump platformers but I did give this one several tries! Got to the "blind jump" on the third moving platform and just couldn't work out where to go. Died three times and gave up there :) Nice entry though with some good feel and looks.
Enjoyed this a bunch! Cool vibes, nice changing audio and the feel is quite nice too. I had to restart after missing the feather between the red spikes and being unable to go back, but this didn't break the experience for me. still had fun :)
@ace17 yep! I sure was :) it's great that you played and enjoyed it but MOST impressive that you completed it!!! Very few people did so that is quite an achievement. Thanks for seeing it through to the end :D the team worked hard on that one so it's great to hear that a lot of what we made got seen.
And yes, I did play through and enjoyed this jam. I ignored the virus warnings!
AAh thank you for all the kind comments @wisstopher @jk5000 and @bereg. Sorry it crashed for you! I have seen a huge drop in performance on that level and I am not sure what is causing it. Going to investigate that today to see if I can fix it up for a post-jam version. Unless that counts as a bug fix?! :D
Thanks @torte478, that means a lot! Glad you enjoyed it @baluj but to this day I still haven't found a way to host or share an unreal.exe via html or web. If you know a way though, I would love to try :)
@baluj this is amazing!! I had no idea, I will try to get that set up this week. I will investigate and let you know. Thank you so much for the advice.
@alexclay Thank you! This is a really good point, I am not a regular player of PC games so I miss simple stuff like this. Thanks for the tip and I will amend in future versions :D
Ah thank you @apdt I ended up pushing on the style as I don't think I did anything particularly unique with the mechanics so I am glad it resonated :D
Thanks @eugenik !
Woah! Thanks all! @maimai nearly no sleep! That's how! :D but also, I take two days off afterwards to recover and catch up on sleep :D thanks for the kind words and really glad you liked it.
@kapricorn-media I saw some other entries start to make trailers a few aroundLudum Dare 48 so started to make them a day or so after submitting:D @pincushion you are right! The level loads are not quite aligned as I needed to chop up the levels last thing and ran out of time to smooth it out. And yeah, those pot sounds came together quite well :D thank you!
Thanks @yibirabbit007 , I ended up pushing on the atmosphere when I couldn't think of anything original mechanically:D sorry if it's too scary. I have a habit of doing that recently!...
@captaindreamcast aaaah thank you so much for playing to the end! :D Honestly, so glad the sound has had an impact because it was an area that I ended up focussing on mid way through. Means a lot
and thanks @skiddings, I do tend to throw as much of myself as I can into a game jam :)
Thanks @stefan-b and @jose-bonilla. If you want to see the end you can catch it here in the walkthrough video - https://youtu.be/lprLcbA6iwI
Thanks @d3kryption! Soul Reaver was definitely the thing that jumped into my head when the theme was announced. Not just me either as I have seen a few other soul collector entries.
@someone Thank you! and cool username there! :D yes, I very much ran out of time to explore each mechanic. The plan was to introduce each one and then make a few levels that showcased combinations.. so that ended up translating into one level... and I made the platforms too subtle on that level so no-one sees them! But thank you for playing and yes. if I was to develop this further I would absolutely take it in that direction.
@le-don Thank you! Glad it all worked out! I tried to use the titles to guide the function a little, but not sure how effective that was in the end.
Thanks everyone!
Thanks @fivecyclops for playing :) and @dis0rder I am sorry it wouldn't run. This is partly why I refuse to upgrade to UE5 as even LESS people are gonna be able to play my jams! Sticking with UE4.27 till I die! :D Thanks for the kind words and yeah, the sounds were a LOT of fun to make.
aaah thanks @ginger-kyoko ! This is some very on-point and valid feedback, to which I can only respond with one answer... I don't know how to do shaders yet and am fumbling my way through what I do know! If you check my past entries, I so rarely use textures and tend to keep everything flat! I managed once and finished 4th in graphics as a result! But it was a much simpler game. This totally backs up your points :D The haze and fog is something I could have done for sure though, I will keep that in mind. Someone suggested a PS1 post process effect to make it look more dated which is another excellent suggestion.
I will most certainly check out your game too :) Thanks again!
Great entry with a ton of heart... although TWENTY TWO dialogues in a row with the elder made me laugh :D
maaaaaan this is lovely! Really enjoyed this a lot. A wonderful sense of calm and exploration. LOVE the audio and the fact that swimming works too! Only criticism I have is that the timer adds a pressure that I don't think the game needs. This won't stop me giving 5 stars though. Excellent entry.
I think this might be one of your best yet. The pacing and through line in the story was WONDERFUL! The ending really got me and I love how it was told. A real sense of atmosphere in this one. Really liked the notes about the war and love the whole concept. Wish I could have collected more of the space junk though. I want a job in space clearing up debris now..
Lovely work this.
I gotta say, this is my first full top marks game I have played. The simplicity of the guess mechanic, the feel of estimating and trying is lovely and the style and vibe is excellent. Great use of the theme, just all of it. wonderful! This is great work.
Hey Bro. I do indeed feel the blues in my soul. GREAT audio and humour on this! Lovely work. I got 1M 38 :D
Great entry and to echo the above comments, the music is fantastic on this!
I do love a good light refraction puzzle and this is a great example of one! Lovely stuff, great mood and a wonderful feel to it.
Gaaaah, this is one lovely entry. Top marks all around for theme, graphics and mood. Really wonderful little game. Well done.
Nice entry here, looks good and is a cute game, but the music does get a bit much after a while! Great work though. Good entry!
aaah this is wonderful. Really great game feel and presentation. The stomping feels wonderful and the audio is excellent. Great entry!
Good fun this one. Nice effects and feel. Damage effect felt really nice and crunchy
Incredible mood and tone on this one. Nailed it.
This has a really nice adaptive curve to the upgrades and purchases. I felt like I was getting overwhelmed only for the upgrades to allow me to get back on top. Great stuff.
This is lovely! It reminds me somewhat of "In other waters" which I am a big fan of. Tricky gameplay here but I kinda like that. Great work.
High scores from me for audio and mood on this. Lovely! The top right screen with the bits falling into the bag was wonderful too!
Went to Itch to play as I got this on your LD page - 4040Collector.png Great loop of collect and upgrade. World looks lovely and I played this WAY longer than I thought I would :D I am not sure if there is supposed to be audio but I didn't hear any. The use of lighting makes it a bit hard to see which areas downstairs need to be cleaned or not. Overall though, a great entry with a lot of love. Nice work.
Wonderful mood and feel to this. Great graphics and audio. Superb stuff.
GREAT entry here! Loved the feel of movement, the collection and the excellent useless sliders etc! :D Great humour, wonderful graphics, a solid entry. Great work.
aaah like silk. Really great stuff. Intro, sound, execution. The lot. Top marks from me.
Once again, visually stunning, a ton of mood and great atmosphere. The collection of the later node clusters was SO satisfying!! Great entry.
Destruction of the rocks feels WONDERFUL and as I was playing it I was about to say "This reminds me of sini..." then the voice goes "I LIVE" And I chuckled to myself :D Nice entry :D
Love the style and theme of this one, but goodness me is it too punishing! 99 kills needed in top shot and when I hit a spike in the platformer I go back to the start! Didn't manage to complete this I am afraid, but nice entry.
You know, this is a lovely visual treat and a really interesting entry. I like the introduction of each mechanic, the mines were a lovely touch. I think the atmosphere and graphics are lovely. Biggest criticism is the spread of fire from the cannon is too random. If it was more focussed I think it would be great. It would still be challenging as you are asking a lot from your players to multitask. The controls for me end up becoming "HOLD D" and alternate Shift and Ctrl which felt really nice, but became uncomfortable after a while. But the FEEL of it was wonderful. Real sense of weight and rugged metal in the mech. I really enjoyed stomping on the enemies too! Great work.
Really nice idea, original concept and great execution. I think the precision platforming spoiled the start, but after that the game flowed nicely. Good entry.
This was enjoyable but to keep playing it, I had to turn my speakers off! Music got a bit much on repeat :D Lovely graphic, love the machines and WAll-E nods, great entry :)
Great audio in this and I REALLY appreciated the moment with the mirror where you see the character reflection. Swinging arms are a lovely touch that give the game a rapid feel. Felt nice to play. Solid!
I love the mood and atmopshere on this one. Low poly shader brings it all together too. Nice work!
I liked how frantic this got as the counters kicked in and enjoyed throwing the stuff around! Great entry.
Played this with my daughter and we REALLY wanted to get ALL the fish, but here is what we managed
fish.png
This was FANTASTIC! Really amazing and great fun! superb music, love the writing and the game style was refreshing! really impressed 5/5 from me.
this is a really impressive entry and I am saving it to come back and get to the later levels. Really nice work.
I played till quite a way through the basketball level and loved the way you teach the slide crouch move. Love the fact that the guy has animations and there was a scoreboard for the soccer game! :) Nice work and surprising fun and depth.
This was great. I smiled a lot whilst I played it and the feel of the game was solid. Really nice work, great entry.
really like the combo stuff on this and the high pressure fail from snake. Wonderful!
You know what? I loved this. A few goes in and I won. Reminds me of some experiemental shooters I players where you control two ships or have a split screen to deal with multiple threats. Really enjoyed this, thank you for making it!
one suggestion is to make the colours of the arrows stand out more from the track. That's it though! wonderful. Top marks on fun and theme from me :)
4X4 puzzle was super hard but I like the combination and execution of the idea. Good work!
Thanks for the feedback everyone! @wsKilljoy I tried to do less this Jam as I wasnt doing a minimal sleep thing, just full days over the weekend... but you know how ideas bloat! :D
@BloooBird Hey! thanks for the follow! I do try to give it my all so glad it is appreciated.
@Blinkenlights I am afraid I have an old PC and don't have the knowledge of how to create for Linux or the ability to do iOs either. If you have any suggestions on how to port easily I would love to hear them. Thanks!
off to play all your games now :)
Hey @Blinkenlights, so I did some research, opened my project and found a way to export to Linux BUT... I am unable to do it! Apparently I need to have visual studio in order to build the engine for Linux and I only have retail Unreal. Not a programmer unfortunately. I have asked a couple of friends if they are able to covert it for me, so will see what comes back. Will definitely try to have something ready so next LD I can do it :)
Wow! thanks for all the kind comments @Lyje @Darby Costello and @Vasco Freitas! Glad you all enjoyed it so much :)
Thanks @TurboSocks! really appreciate the comments :)
Thanks @tomdeal ! yeah, I left the table thing in as it was fun to fly up! Due to the nature of the random spawning of objects and lines it currently is possible for the fail state to trigger with a collection. Hard fix that one!
@xmatos Thanks! I do put a lot of effort in so glad it is appreciated. The "story" was in speech marks in the description for exactly that reason ;) it is more flavour text and abstract dialogue than any coherent attempt at a narrative. And as my aim was to combine "walking simulator" with procedural generation... yeah all you do is walk! ;) Thanks for the feedback!
Hi and thanks @Emery @polegar and @HAUO. I tried to make something with simple ingredients that would end up more complex :) Kinda surprised it turned out so well honestly :)
Thanks @spthiel and @Erunno! Iam off to check out your games next :)
Thanks @mrwillowb and @TheM I went for simple procedural walls that had small variation but given more time and resources, I would totally make more environments and even give it a developed narrative :) Glad everyone is enjoying it though.
Sorry @Sam-machell but I have no way of creating a version for mac. Currently struggling to find someone to help me put it on linux (for @Blinkenlights !) Despite the visuals of the game... I am working on a very old PC that struggles to run most modern games and have very little hardware to work with. I am afraid you will have to wait for the video walk through to see what it is all about! Many apologies.
Thanks @MZA! I think after all these comments I might have to take it further one day :)
Thanks @Smooth @smbe19 and @Amour Du Pain ! Stanley Parable!? wow! :D Lot of love for this one :)
Well @Blinkenlights ... if you have a version of unreal 4.18 and visual studio installed and have the time... that would be amazing! I read here how to do it - http://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Platforms/Linux/GettingStarted/index.html but the issue appears to be downloading the engine files and rebuilding for linux taking a lot of space. It may be different on a linux system? Like I said I am not very technical but any help or advice on this would be amazing, thank you!
Thanks @Apace and @maesk! yes, time was somewhat of a factor with the gameplay side of things. Next Jam I am going to focus on gameplay first and get to the mood and atmosphere later... or not at all! ;)
Thanks @Roka-Josh and @patrickgh3 ! The mood seems to be winning on this one :)
@Tuomo Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I wish I had done more with it but alas, time caught up on me. At the beginning I had much higher hopes for how it would all go together and a meaning for each item and an effect on an end condition... in the end I went with "Functional" :) One day I may take this further but I was happy to leave it at working for the moment. Maybe when I have had more sleep! :D
Thank you @shackra! Glad you found it relaxing and reflective :)
Another classic Alex Rose Production! love the choice of music here :D
Tricky to play but nice idea with great atmosphere and audio. Writing made me laugh while playing too. Great work!
heheh, great work! super audio and lovely feel to it. Nice!
Lovely bit of tech and game here! wonderful work!
You know, I am not a fan of match three games, in fact I would say I am almost AGAINST them... but this was actually good fun :) Nice implementation and solid visuals. Great entry!
I quite liked this! Music was a bit much for the type of experience and the footsteps too loud but overall there was a simple solid build/defend loop and some nice visuals. Good entry!
This has a lot of potential but the slow acceleration really hits the pacing hard. Nice approach to the theme though! good work!
Great entry and execution. I started playing and assumed I had to wait for the ball to stop moving to fire again, when I found this was not the case I was so happy! great fun to play. Well done.
This is brilliant. Great idea, simply made, clear to understand and really fun to get your head around. Really like what you have done here! and yes, I played a few times and finished it! :D
hehe, this was great! I played a few times and managed to get to the grey screen. I like how the backgrounds help suggesting the topping. Good work!
Reminds me of an early stage "Slime Ranchers", a lot of potential here :) I made a TON selling watermelons! ;)
Couple of notes, the aiming reticle is off when you are close to something and as you can "lose" seeds if you fire at the wrong spot, this could be an issue. It wasnt obvious to me that I needed to return to the centre to "sell" but got it pretty quick :)
Enjoyed this!
Nice entry with compact and sleek visuals. Co op only with two pads on PC! good thing I have them :)
Nice compact entry! Audio and visuals are a good mix, nice work.
Tricky to get the hang of but a solid entry here. Nice work. The stealing feels satisfying and checking the other team down does too!
Very cool concept and great execution on the core mechanic. Addictive and well presented. Nice work!
Text alignment is crazy when steering! but a cool idea. Well done.
hehe, the second "Street chess" game I have played this jam! :D well made though! Great stuff. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/street-chess There is the other one :) enjoy! A different take but both good games.
Great mood and execution on this one. Couldn't figure out how to get a score... but it was well made! :)
Came here from Jupi's let's play video and had to give this a go. Glad I did. Nice work!
This is excellent. Truly great entry. Fun to play addictive, great audio and visuals. High scores all round! It was also refreshing to play a tetris style game with different block shapes. Well done to all of you!
METAL STRENGTH! Love it! A great entry!
I killed 83 Unicorns and it felt great. Nice!
Nice creation here with great mood. Bit too hard but balancing and finishing a game in 72 hours is a challenge! good work!
heheh, this was great! feels fun to play, awesome presentation and suitable audio! Nice work :) great entry!
Great graphics and mood. Guitar boss was a little frustrating but nicely done.
Saw this on Jupi's channel and had to come over to play. Wonderful entry!
Eeessh that is a hard game! But lovely mood and atmosphere! :)
Lovely look to this and a ton of charm! :)
Great game! Simple, fun, great audio, solid presentation. Nice work!
Gosh this is punishing hard! but fun once you get into it. A LOT of restarts just to get going. Good entry though, well done.
Nice visuals, great audio.. some challenging gameplay for baseball but a good all round entry! Great!
Simple to play and nice visuals. Not sure how it fits the theme but good job on your first entry!
heheh @Blinkenlights , Always with the Linux! ;)
This is a cool entry. As a first jam too this is great. A solid game, not overly complex, formula works and it is clear :) Well done! Only suggestion is to make the 100 piece do a LOT more damage... for 100 I want POWER! ;)
Saw this on Jupi's channel and came to play it specifically. Love this!
Solid take on the theme but a little confusing to play. Car was too easy to get stuck and was confused at the choice to put accelerate on the left trigger? Still, all round solid entry.
Nice compact entry :) easy to understand and had me playing a few times to get better. Good entry!
This was great! Played both Compo and Jam versions but had fun with the Jam most. The audio really makes it feel special and bonus points for voice work! Not enough of it in LD :) Wonderful work!
Loved how the music was set against the tone. Nice visuals, strong idea. Well made.
Nice choice of theme and direction. Great audio and solid visuals. Well done.
I love the core mechanic behind this. The execution of the firing with the text description adds SO much to this entry. Great work!
Level 18!!! This was fantastic! one of my favourite entries so far! Very impressed with this. Well done!
Super entry! Really enjoyed this, looks and sounds great, awesome writing. Well done!
this has a surprising amount of atmosphere for something with so little audio. Nice work!
This is great! I was confused at first but got into the rhythm and found a lot of fun here. Great stuff.
Nice idea! Had to play it in editor as the exe wouldn't run but cool stuff!
I WON FREEDOM! This is a great little entry :) all rounded off with nice relevant music and visuals.
Lovely visuals and presentation. Bit frustrating when a different color gem spawns on you but love the motion in the world. Nice.
OK, this took me by surprise. It is REALLY good fun adn quite addictive. I ended up maxing all my stats and playing for quite a while. Audio is great but the music could be a little more varied. The big thing for me is the fact that the enemy cars damage each other, so you as a player, end up setting up chain reactions which are very satisfying. Nice work! Very good entry
Great audio, visuals and smashing! :) little hard to control (A lot!) but still a great entry. Nice!
Great mood and humour on this! :D laughed a lot whilst playing. Nice work.
heheh, love the take on this and the reduction of mechanics as a process. Nice entry!
This is HAAAAAARD! I mean, Golf isn't normally about balancing on a single bar! Not even minigolf! :D Would love to see this mechanic on a more traditional course, but lovely idea and great execution. Nice work.
I think this is a nice rounded entry. Nice gameplay loop, simple visuals, front end/instructions. audio and a nice end sequence. So many entries miss out on one or all of these things so I am really happy you did them all! :)
Okay, full review and details below, but I want to say this is your best entry so far. Very rounded in terms of mechanics, feel and mood. Almost the complete package! You can really see how your skills are developing on the modelling front too which is lovely to see.
Let's start with the bad, as there is so little The music! Firstly, I LOVE that you have some. Just that gets you three stars. But after a few doors, the music was really grating on me. A really simple solution here when you do minimal notes like this is to feed them into unreal and have it randomise which notes it plays. Can completely transform a soundscape.
now the little issues The "Yellow" colour of the tuning light on enemies and locks is really too close to the green, so that both are very difficult to tell apart. I lost a few moments and points of frustration with the locks when I thought I was on green and wasn't. Worse as the device puts out a light that washes the colour out, but when I knew to look for it, I was able to adjust. Sometimes the enemies didn't have a tune in frequency? but I think this might have been when they weren't aware of me. I would like to be able to zap em when they are not aware. The health bars on them were GREAT but as I tended to be underneath them a lot, it made them harder to see. The game was a little too drawn out on that last level... I think you only needed two sets of gates or them closer together, but I enjoyed how they all worked together. It was very well done.
Now the good AAAAH THE MODELS ARE GREAT! :D It's so nice to see the whole world you built feeling real and moody, the doors, the levers, the cells, the enemies, all of it! The Level design is excellent as always and I never felt stuck or lost for too long. Smart lines of sight and elevation got me to where I needed to be. The art style and choice of colours was spot on for this game, the bloom on the lens gave it a very cinematic / Kubrick feel and those titles really tied it all together. Vibes from Control/Routine and other horror titles. Very nicely done. Sound was basic but used well and brought just enough crunch to the gameplay
The core mechanic though was Chef's kiss good. I know its only in prototype form but it was instantly understandable and fun to use. It's great to see one of your games with mechanic depth like that and so well implemented. Tutorials were at just the right level and the world design and flow was spot on.
An excellent a The Creed game.
aaauh a ton of feel and lovely graphics on this. Theme is a stretch but it doesn't matter here. Lovely entry.
This made me laugh a load. Nice entry! I squished the frog!! I enjoyed keeping an eye on the light to see when it was opposites day :D
