I got stuck in a room with no exit, but it was a fun puzzle game

I got stuck in a room with no exit, but it was a fun puzzle game
once I got the hang of the time dilation things went super smooth, I like the controls and the speed of everything, very good game.
nice little game reminded me of wasting time in computer class in highschool.
fantastic style and gameplay.
that was some of the best VO work i have heard, such a good game, love the boss fight music, not a joke not a lie not just tying to be nice it was really really good
one of my favorites so far, I do love me some space trucking, also love the voice over work at the start, added a lot to the experience.
It's so hard to judge turns XD good game though I could actually see myself spending time playing something like this on a phone.
interesting take on the theme
would love to play but everything link back to github
this was pretty fun, got A LOT of bones, and kept loosing packages over the edge, or accidentally giving them to the wrong person due to the fluidity of the controls, with some fine tuning this would be a excellent base for commercial game I think.
that was such a lovely little game
Windows version worked for me, a lot of fun carpet bombing a city with babies, though i thought I would die if I hit the ground and the fact that you don't made it a bit easy.
the atmosphere is fantastic, I like the healing mechanics, combat is a bit clunky (but who am i to talk) level design is good but it would be nice to be able to see farther and not get stuck on so many things, trying to climb buildings that have nearly enough clearance and getting stuck on a ledge not being able to jump was annoying.
Art style is great, music is a banger, only thing i didn't like was that you don't know the number you roll on the dice until you're like half way through moving, and the only other option that wasn't the same was the contract, knowing I could move 3 spaces instead of between 1 and 12(clock) (1 and 10 for pennies, and 2 - 12 for second dice) they all felt basically the same.
I'm sorry "CATCH THE BABY"
never mind got it
first lets see what we got
Alright there and back again, congrats to everyone for making a super fun game, it was a little brutal having to restart the entire level if you fell in the water, died to monsters sure but falling in the water and restarting was not fun.
reminded me heavily of the old collectathons like spyro and crashbandicoot, taking the egg from one point to the other to complete the level is fun though i didn't know i could fight back so until the basketball arena I was just dodging and even after i didn't know if it was just the goblins or all monster that I could jump on.
I think i found one glitch in the game, I was full health all 6 and found the steak and the spare star under the final door of level ... 2? and the steak just hung out with me, attached to the character and followed me to the end.
good sound, great art work, great animations, it felt awesome to play.
possible THE BEST i have played yet, I felt so bad for the guy who lost his house
all the voice acting is amazing, and having to read through then pick who would be best to deliver the letters was such a good mechanic.
ucrtbased.dll was not found
good little game, wish there was more to the dodging of the guards, or a way to stun them maybe.
this was really fun, good job, it's got a nice hectic feel but not overly so.
simple and straight forward I like it, switching modes was a great way to mix the loop up a bit but not changing it.
I DID IT, all 45 levels complete, there was one i think 41 or 42 that was a real doozy good job
took a second to get the aim right but other than that a good little game
played to the end, a really cool concept, awesome art style, the gameplay was a bit slow but not terribly solow.
my computer thinks this is a virus can't download
HA! that was fantastic, I was like "oh cool that was a fun little game" then all hell broke out and it became such a hectic thrill
10.2 had to take a second stab at it give the time constraints, put some rapid music in and this could be a nice heart pounding game
That was fantastic, I thought level 6 was impossible but made it all the way to 10 :D
very fast and pretty cool, does the gun in the hotbar function?
movement is a bit slow, the mini map is a nice touch it's the best way to find the houses you have to go to, I found myself looking at that though more than the main screen.
@nature-pixels WASD to move around, left click attack
@nature-Pixels Download the zip, unzip, launch OOHHHH you're looking at the git hub link, right above that on this page is the download
@asasin56 dang it, I had a panic at the last minute to get the scenes all lined up, probably missed a line during
@holdmeimscared yeaaahh... i made their final speed boost for the fact that if you hold any 2 none opposite directions at once (W&D) for example your speed gets to 10 and the zombies can hit 11, I wanted to prevent abuse of the system but forgot people probably wouldn't figure it out lol
edit: also thank you, it was a ton of fun.
Comments are fixed thanks @josemwarrior @clemall and @zSharpFire
edit: and to the anonymous, eh it is what it is
@pov :cry:
@kreshi Thanks its my first complete game.
@tinykidtoo it was supposed to be dungeon crawler esc, no matter what way you go though there should be a boost of some kind (though I noticed one of the HP boosts is broken) Left, Up, Right, up, Left across the park, up, left up are the directions. There is a one hit power weapon directly opposite spawn, that one shots zombies
@jminor thanks the fog was a last minute addition for ambiance.
@adam-gould yeah I wasn't happy with the swings ( or any of the animations really... save the climb one that one is fun) if i had more time I would have added more animations and cleaned them up a bit, if I had done Jam maybe.
@cavedens thanks, this jam was a lot of fun and I'm already looking forward to the next one, also yeeeaaaahhh... i wish i could go in and slow them down just a hair, downside to having made the game, I know all the things.
@defrag I had originally intented to use the street lamps as an indicator but got ahead of myself and before i knew it they were everywhere, in the last hour I wanted to add an arrow above the players head that would point towards the next destination but all my animations broke and had to scramble to fix them, if I ever update the game I'll be sure to add it in
@rickylee you made it to the end, It looks like you're using the web version (which was a literal last minute thing so I'm not surprised it broke a bit)
@remus thank you for playing im glad you enjoyed it even if it was a bit hard.
@svenerik thanks for playing , yeah i don't know how the walk speed worked out like that but usually by the time i hit the first intersection it feels good
@frogman im glad you enjoyed it, I didn't worry tooooo much about making the level airtight so the little slips out of bounds are expected
@wouter52 fun is the important part of it all  I did intend to add an arrow that would point you in a direction towards the end but ran out of time, a lot of people got lost I think lol
@fargred thank you, I've dabbled once or twice with unity in the past but nothing near this complex.
@blue-pin-studio Im already super excited for Septembers jam :exclamation:
@ellaris the original plan was to have the character look at the mouse position but i freaked out because the camera was also attached to the player so it would just spin endlessly, If i had just used an empty object and put the player inside it I could have fixed that but hindsight is 2020, the damage works on a timer, the first hit is immediate and then every ... 5 (i think) seconds you take another hit.
@wevel the webGL was a literal last minute addition and broke a few things that are set up in the zipped version, camera scale and UI scale chief among them.
"thas not my baby" it whispers at me
I already use opera  so all good there, but I don't get it, I assume im the truck but i don't know what anything does.
I lost most of my cargo in the training area lol, good little game though, love the control system
the box keeps disappearing on me
I actively lost track of time playing this lol
I like it a lot good job, hope I can do something like this in godot next jam
that was stunning, fantastic job, felt like a very polished and complete game.
the controls are kinda wonky. feels weird to not move in the direction im pointing.
This is a very good puzzle game, you should be super proud considering it was written in your own language
I liked this one a lot, good work, and i loved that fact that if I died i kept the items i found, too many games are dead and done.
That is a super cool concept.
Awesome concept, I could see this being a fantastic mobile game, though I would have like a few more credits the father in I got.
@triangle-point I had the same thing, and when I moved over to attack it ... I died after a few seconds
the art is amazing, great job, felt like a full release or like a solid demo.
@2thegamechanger That's fantastic thank you, I was going for a bit more Deep rock Galactic than minecraft but the gold veins are very minecrafty arn't they lol.
thank you for playing
@ackbad there are 5 different items, only 2 share the same value.gold veins are worth 5 gold pickles worth 20 emeralds and morganite are 50 and diamonds are 200
@bmacintosh the starting elevator is the exit, you should just need to step inside with a full inventory, if you don’t have all 10 inventory slots full you can’t leave.
@wouter52 the starting elevator is the exit you just need to have all 10 items in your inventory, I should have put that in the instructions 😅
@cyber-puffin oh crap I’ll look into that asap, during testing some of the colliders reset it’s possible one of them went back to full size 😅
@matt-blake thanks, was that the web version or download?
@unentokku yeah you need a full inventory 😅 I'll be adding it into the instructions in a bit, one of those things that you know because you made the game, but doesn't translate well to other players.
@ellaris you need a full inventory to use the elevator in the current version, Im double checking the rules to see if i can put in a new build to fix that.
the pickaxe animations plays when you hit E, it's mostly there for aesthetics but if I switched that to a mouse click instead of E would fix that.
yeah the inventory system is basically irrelevant in the games current state, not enough time to worry about using it, but i will look into fixing the camera so it no longer moves.
@ellaris That is a really damn good idea, mapping the inventory to numbers would streamline the whole thing.
@matt-blake yep I'm seeing that now, booooo that's a bug i should have caught
@lizz yeah there are still a few hiccups to work out, if you are playing build 1 that one is kinda janky as it lacks some of the bug fixes i put in build 2.
@jens-g That is 100% the plan, im continuing to work on the game, adding in a hub of sorts where you can take your well earned loot to purchase upgrades, more inventory, more time, faster movement, etc.
@woona yeaaaaah that... that was bound to happen, the level is pretty solid but there are still a few gaps I have to patch up.
the download version worked for me, that is a great little game, kinda stressful not going to lie got very anxious when the dice heat would rise and I had like 7 on the field lol
This is awesome, great job, it felt like an evolved mario party mini game, I could see a bunch of randomized levels in the future, with different types of events instead of just loss of a platform like an explosion in a cross pattern, or maybe the block would crack and the next step would break it.
good intent, but playing in the browser was super limited, I couldn't interact with any other planets.
simple and to the point, i like it 😁
this was great, I could totally see a like full release with a whole story and stuff, like a narrative game but with actual fun parts to it 🤣
fantastic, hell I would refine it a little more and look at trying to get it out for sale
fantastic game, though I did get sucked in and stuck against the top of the screen after a bit lol
a good little puzzle game, fantastic use of the theme
I really like this idea, like a bullet hell but without the constantly dying part
That was pretty fun, I cleared the whole field, was hoping for some kind of victory screen but it was nice and cathartic to just mow a graveyard
this is an awesome little puzzle game, fantastic concept.
I love it .... but DAMN is it frustrating lol like playing with a toddler who keeps changing the rules of the game you're playing with them
interesting concept, I had no idea what was happening lol, and the first few times I tried to hit the enemies the collision didn't work, but over all once things started to make sense it was fun.
this was a neat little idea, the only issue i have with it is that the mishfu stopped producing gems or at least started taking 30 - 40 seconds between them.
just a damn good game, I can see multiple levels, different cats, different buildings, different collectables all kinds of stuff.
such a cool idea, we don't see many if any at all, RTS style games come out of jams so bravo, wish the collectors spawned new troops a bit faster
this was awesome, it's not often you get like a complete game from a jam, this was basically just missing audio outside that it's complete, you could go more into the coming years and other sources of nectar but otherwise it's a complete encapsulated game
surprised i hadn't seen this one yet, nice simple concept, i like being able to spoil multiple foods at once if im in the right space, and you know... fuck that chef he killed our partner
very very fun game, It took me a couple seconds to get into the groove but once i was in i was in and focuse, I love everything about it the claymation style was great the audio was fun (oh noooo) lol and over all just a solid good game
loved the concept, but got to a point i couldn't beat the healing ghosts with what imps i had, I could get one or two down but it was just such a mass of fire i couldn't get survive
very fun game once i knew whatwas going on lol, took a minute to realize how to throw the rats around. i like the esplody ones
oh wow this was awesome, played a couple easy levels then just bolted to hard and got overwhelmed immediately lol, good game.
@grut607 whoops I fixed the issue on level complete but forgot it does the same thing on death 😅
@svenerik inhave plans to add more bugs and different rooms and different shots and stuff later on, level 3 has small fast ants
@plasmapuffs yeah something got buggy in the code, I don't know why but occasionally it just wouldn't count one or two of the ants lol
and that's awesome I hadn't intended for that to work like that with the ants piling up, a bug made the bugs work like bugs
@thomas-bringer yeah the cross hair was a pain in the ass to get working, on the normal desktop version it works fine but transitioning to html5 broke it somehow, I tried to get it near enough in the last 30 or so minutes  glad you enjoyed it
@wouterk12 level 3 has the ants smaller and faster, and level 2 they move a tiny bit faster but not much, wanted to ramp up the difficulty  thank you for playing
@greymouth that's a weird one I wonder what cause it, tank movement is locked to WASD and the turret is on the mouse, which one was rotating slowly?
@perfectsquare yeah on web you should use the top part of the cross hair, put the ant in the V on desktop it's at the point of the V, one of the changes that happened i couldn't fix in time
@metriko the uh.... the migration behaviour, yes totally intended....
that was honestly just a happy accident what's happening there is that the ants are too many and can't reach their patrol point because they're blocking each other.... so once you kill enough they can get to it and then the script kicks in and they move off to their next patrol point.
interesting concept, i was suspecting 100 sacrifices, over all a very pretty game
very confusing game, the text was also difficult to read so i kinda skipped the entire intro sorry :frowning2:
very nice game, only grip is that the creatures wouldn;t transform even if i clicked on them, sometimes they would just lose momentum and fall straight down instead of turning into blocks.
such a good game out of everything i've played so far this has been my favorite
still no game :(
@yohadams yeeah I forgot they did that, I stopped using them during development 😅
@oter thays a good idea I’ll start adding a cheat menu with some toggle able things to make the games easier and quicker
very fun, nice little creepy horror game :see_no_evil:
a very interesting concept, i will be returning to play it proper when i have the time :D
very fun, i wish there was just a touch more to it, health pool and the ability to die would be good, turn it into a bit of a rogue like, BUT also imagine if like you just kept groing down and eventually started going through earth and rock and then hell and the final floor was the devil you got to smash.
my grapple broke :frowning2:
interesting, i feel like i did well, found all i could but nothing else happened, and i couldn't go home
very nice, I love the simplicity of it, and the smoothness of everythin.
The man himself, I’ll put it on the to be played list.
edit: oh this is interesting, i didn't know if i needed to retag items that had been stolen/moved from the last time.
good atmosphere, and mechanics.
a nice twist having to sell before you can't, and the game speeding up really added some pressure
simple and mesmerizing i definitly lost myself, like the addition of new mechanics, mushrooms, holes, water, spots that turn into holes
very well done, simple and clean
the itch link doesn't work
gave me Diablo 1 vibes at first, was just getting a handle on fences
i really liked this one, i had an AHA moment when i realized i could push 2 of the same blobs together to make one big one to make the game easier
oh thats addictive, found myself cornered more than once
as said, not a fan of all that clicking, would have been good to have an "auto clicker" as one of the first upgrades, otherwise very good.
man that was hard, are the roombas programed to go towards the objects no matter what they were always headed straight for them
@d-omino you shouldn't need to do that, each door has a specific amount of items needed to open
@maytch oh dammit i thought i fixed that, I moved the fire pit down a touch :frowning:
@jojocanard yeah the mouse controls need a sensitivity slider sorry about that, and good job  did you check under the bridge?
@quail-weaver did you play on itch or here?
@quail-weaver dammit, I didn’t think the LD site was working I’ll have to update the build asap
@bad-fetus yeaaah looking at the corn maze causes a little lag for me i expect it got worse for you, sorry I tried to optimize it
@bereg thank you  yeah I felt like people wouldn’t enjoy the maze with colliders.
I’ll see about tossing up a windows build, I just don’t download games during jams so I didn’t think to include one
@she-wrote yea that was a happy accident e-bike messing with the skybox, it’s the same texture I used on the candy and I agree removing the logo would be good just wasn’t a priority
@f1krazy im glad I was able to make something you were looking for.
The jump up to the church should be from the houses, I think the jump should be enough if not theres some boxes hidden behind the house nearest the tower, thinking about it i should have done candies leading to them
@chuckeles yeah the physics was something I broke like an hour before compo ended so I panic fixed it  and 100% I'll be making the rotation move around the character, I got dev brain on that one and thought it was heh
@torte478 im glad you enjoyed it
@artificer Thank you, i wanted to focus on level design over mechanics this time, and im glad you got onto the roofs i should have made the path a bit clearer.
@yibirabbit007 thanks for the feedback, I did what I could solo for comp with a busted thumb
@wouter52 I don’t know why but when I started ludum dare 2 years ago your posts caught my attention, you’re also always doing the jam, out of everyone I follow you were the only one actively taking part this time, being involved with the site and posting things.
Your game burnout was one of the first I played and I remember bring thoroughly impressed and inspired to do better next time.
Edit: and the thumb is good going to take a few more months to fully heal but I can half use it again.
@sslees im glad you enjoyed it and you nailed the inspiration for the game play, and I’ve been all about Halloween this year so it just felt right given it’s October
Hopefully you have a better experience with a mouse
@jim-jagers im not sure it’s probably on the games end rather than your end, the camera controls sent great I needed to refine them but ran out of time.
i like it a lot, though i think i did more damage to me than the enemies, once i had rapid fire and kills reload i was practically unstoppable
oh you SNEAKY.... I did it i beat it but that was a dirty trick with the 7
that was honestly so much fun, i lost myself in it, it is to it's core a metroidvania in the simplest terms, steady advancement, back tracking, upgrades, so good
this is a fantastic concept, i can see it being fleshed out into an amazing game
an interesting take on the theme, very polished, a tutorial would be good.
