Ball Keeper by JCMonkey 2020-04-20T07:17:13Z
This was fun to play, looks great and music is really nice.
Maybe the controls could be slightly adjusted, I kept trying to place a block with the keyboard as that's how I was moving!

This was fun to play, looks great and music is really nice.
Maybe the controls could be slightly adjusted, I kept trying to place a block with the keyboard as that's how I was moving!
I used to love playing these types of games. The physics on the car is a little off, but overall it's nice.
@headchant & @wekaj, thanks both for the feedback! And completely agree that the controls could do with a bit of work!
@mudlee, ah that's a shame, thanks for letting me know. I don't know enough about the OSX settings to suggest how to fix it :(
@mudlee, Linux builds are unfortunately quite unreliable with the engine I used, even though I built it using Linux!
This is great! I love the idea.
I like the little cage following me! It was fun.
This is a really nice unique idea and I love the mood that music sets.
Love the style of graphics, but I found it quite hard to hit the ball.
Well executed idea and the music fits really nicely. The UI could do with a bit of polishing in some places, but it was fun to play.
Nice twist on a classic style of game! I also like how the game continues if the farmer dies, it's all about the chicken
Fun concept for a game, maybe a little difficult.
This game is great, but the ZIP isn't working. The data folder has the wrong name, updated that and then I played it just fine. Fun game! :)
Fun game play and looks great! I think has a lot of potential.
I like the combat mechanics, little different to the usual.
Enjoyed this! Looks great and plays well.
Nice submission! I like the idea.
The camera position was a little awkward sometimes, make it a little hard to see what was coming.
Nice simple idea, but executed well! I was thinking when I started that the turn speed was a little slow, then realised I could upgrade :)
Got hard quite quickly!
I really like the art style.
It took me a little bit to figure out how play, but once I had it was good! Google Translate helped a little :)
Very nicely polished for a jam entry! Levels were well designed and interesting. Liked the use of a level as the hub,
A really nice unique mechanic. Little hard to control at the start, but you get used to it.
Fun game! My carts did fall off a loop the first time I played, but was overall good to play
Great aesthetic. Would really benefit from some kind of background music I think.
Once I'd got the controls down, ended up being a pretty interesting game to play!
Really liking the atmosphere! Great game!
I liked having to explore to find the upgrades, got a little lost.
The death noise is so loud! It made me jump!
Fun game. Love the visuals.
@danvil, @drskort, @timbertoes, I wondered how easily people would spot that little bug
It's a really fun game. The breathing is a unique element which also makes it really hard!
It's really nice, ended up playing for a little while. I think the fuel needs to be a little cheaper, every time I bought fuel I barely had anything left, so it took a long time to be able to get later upgrades!
Good unique take on the idle clicker genre, had fun playing it.
I love that you even included a little opening cinematic! Great game.
It's a nice idea, and executed pretty well. The upgrading adds a good replayability.
Visually it's really nice. I was a bit unsure on how to choose which meals to make and serving the monster didn't seem to work if I gave the food.
The variety in the 'games' is really nice. Interesting idea.
This is great! I felt like I was suffering from some form of target fixation and accidentally forcing people into cars :joy:
I like the animation when the water level rises. Really great idea
This is a nice submission! It was a little slow at the beginning when the targets were so far away.
I enjoyed playing this! The jump sometimes not working was a bit irritating if it was causing you to fail the level though :)
There's a lot here for a game jam! It's great. As other have said, some issues, but really nice submission :)
Impressive having this variety of games in one! I liked how the style of the music changed with each game too.And the shout out to Avatar was great :)
This is really fun! I liked how the gameplay was introduced as part of the game. As others have mentioned, I'm not sure about the red boxes.
I like this! The mini games were nice, it just would have been nice to have a bit more variety.
The graphics style is really nice, even the cursor matches :) I like the music and sfx too.
The style of the graphics is really nice and the audio/music is good and not too repetitive.
I love this art style! Great submission
Nice game, but the lighting seemed a little too bright on the web version which was making it a little hard to see.
It's a nice submission, I think the player and enemies should have looked a bit different. I kept getting confused to which one I was
I like that that's a nice variety in game rules over the game, the 3 minutes flew by! I think the hit counter could be a bit more obvious that it's a hit counter rather than a score. At first I was confused as I thought I was suppose to avoid the rocks and then noticed this number increasing when I did so initially thought it was a score. But other than that, great submission!
This is a fun game. The music is really nice.
The tile set used here is really nice, I like the animation out the window too. The movement did feel a little bit slow as did the jump. It took an embarrassing amount of time to realise the gravity switched every 10 seconds, maybe I should have read the instructions...
This is a nice submission. I felt like it was a bit too easy, maybe needed to be a little more challenging, but enjoyed trying it out :)
This is a nice game for the theme! The sounds are great too!
This is a really fun game! I like the little dance on victory! I think it'd be really great with some upbeat music and sfx
I enjoyed this! I liked that it kept changing every 10 seconds, so I don't think it was an issue that the interval was so short, but I did keep losing because obstacles were spawning so close to me when it switched.
Funny game. I did lose a fair number of a children from them flying over the walls, but seems like I had enough anyway :)
This is really polished for a game jam! The music fits perfectly and it looks great. The level design is at a nice level, not too hard.
I did have the same issue as @hitchh1k3r, I got quite stuck on level 7, I think I ended up with 3 belts and 3 gates, thought I was doing something wrong, but ended up refreshing and was fine then.
The art and background music is really nice. It's a great entry!
This was fun, I liked the cinematic at the end! The addition of the drawings was good and the other assets were great.
This is a nice submission, I like the sound effects too. I feel like the movement speed should have been maybe a little bit faster as it felt a bit slow though.
That was pretty odd :joy:
But, it was pretty interesting and I ended up finishing it! The movement was a bit awkward and could have used a cross hair to know where the harpoons were pointing as I missed quite a few times.
I enjoyed playing this. The sound is really well done, slightly terrifying
I think sometimes it was a bit easy to instantly die, it sometimes happened while killing something else so you couldn't do much about it.
It took me a while to realise I should hold the mouse as I didn't realise the colour was changing, but after I figured that out, it was nice. Ended up with 10/10 :)
As others have said, it's not clear what you need to do, ends up being a bit of trial and error, first package I sent, the receipt didn't seem to be accepted by the customer, which made it a bit confusing, but I restarted and was okay!
Impressive to get character customisation in the game!
The music in this is amazing, I had fun playing the various songs. I had the same issue as some other people where the inputs seemed to be slightly out of sync with the music but it was still nice to play.
The game itself is nice, it looks great and the addition of music is nice. I do think having to confirm every tile is a bit annoying. I think either having no confirm or confirm after placing all tiles would feel a bit smoother.
Similar-ish theme to my entry :)
It was a little difficult to hit the cars, but it's a fun game!
Thank you all for playing!
And for @dzejpi, @rodgems, @daflamingpotato, and @frontiersend, I thought I'd fixed that bug, but apparently not! I guess that's what I get for using an untested engine :)
Simple idea, but I think it's quite fun. The credits on the wall was a nice touch too :)
This is really fun! I like being able to make the shrimp do flips! The art is really nice, and the music doesn't feel too repetitive, it's a nice entry!
The music is really good! It fits perfectly with the game. I like the restrictions on some structures, it makes it a bit more complex than just spamming down elements. I think it was a little too easy to get to essentially unlimited money, but maybe that could be helped with different types of structures or something.
This was really fun, the level was a really nice size to explore, and a creative idea, great submission!
The art style is great, the watercolor background is nice. I enjoyed controlling the fleas! There were more levels than I was expecting too which was great.
As others said, it was really satisfying watching them grow, I couldn't stop playing :grinning: Really nice and easy to play, perfect for a game jam.
The fox sprite looks amazing, and the music is really well done!
I found the jump a little inconsistent, sometimes it didn't seem to want to jump which made some parts a little frustrating.
I had a lot of fun playing this. I liked that it punished you if you missed too, so you couldn't just keep spamming your hook. The music was really nice too!
This is so polished for a game jam! The music is beautiful, the art style is great. I got to 90 fae pretty quickly, so not sure I saw all areas, but it was a really nice chill experience.
I think the only piece of feedback I have is that some kind of checkpoint might be nice, on the first attempt, I failed (got a bit too close to the gas and they all died) and it was a bit annoying having to go through it all again, but it really didn't take long.
Love this entry!
I love the shaking head animation when you hit the goblins, and goblins taking aim rather than just immediately firing at you.
I agree that there could be some changes to help the player out a bit, but I had fun playing it :)
Some fun puzzles in this, finished in about 200 seconds!
I did find the controls a bit confusing, I kept pressing the wrong buttons
Fun to play game! I like the distraction, and leaving them at the TV while you go searching for more ducks. The sprites for the ducks were really nice too.
The lighting works really well with the art style, it sets a really nice moody vibe to the environment, and the animation when running is so funny, I love it.
The turn based attacks are always great, although, I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but my first attack of each encounter didn't seem to have any effect
That bird noise is so stressful! It's a great idea, enjoyed playing!
It's an ambitious genre for a game jam, but you got pretty far with it! Good job for a first game jam :)
It's a nice example of this genre of games. The music sets the mood nicely, and I like having the AI competitor!
It's a fun game! The graphics are nice, and the UI is really polished. I think I might have hit a bug where my health bar disappeared and then I seemed to win everything, not sure if I was actually winning or if I was cheating :eyes:
it's a fun idea, but once you realise you can steal the other players piles, it's quite easy. i ended up with 5x the score of the ai on my first attempt. i think with some balancing, it would be a really solid game though. and the audio is great!
it's fun! audio is nice. sometimes it felt like a bit of a losing battle getting enough acorns, but felt good when I finally collected enough!
it's a nice variation on this style of game, I did struggle a little with the controls, but eventually got the hang of it
i really liked the controls, and had a really nice mood to it.
really enjoyed this, first time i lost because i was eating what the items did, but second time I won! seemed to gain a lot of money very fast towards the end, so maybe needed a little bit of balancing, but it was fun
i wasn't quite sure how I was suppose to get the coins into the cart, a few went in though! audio is nice too.
the movement is a bit weird in some cases, but running around with the vacuum was fun. i love the squeaky table noise
Had the same issue on the embedded version, but itch worked1 It was nice, the combat was simple but fun, and running around collecting the ingredients for potions was good!
amazing variety of assets for a compo entry! it's a fun game, apart from constantly falling through gaps :)
cool idea. it took me until the second playthrough to realise how to match the pixels up, but fun game!
really fun, i like the art, and the cinematics are great. didn't know a tiny fly could make a crocodile fly
