There's some nice ideas here, I think the execution can be improved.
Wow, UE4 sure is huge! I like the graphics, very cute
Nice, there's a lot of content here. I think if you work out the combat mechanics and the ally crowd control, this could be the seed of a great game!
Nice music, the hats were confusing, but the flapping is dodgy. I think my score was 42.
Nice intro! The music is a bit obnoxious though.
This is a very neat game, the animations and detail are so good! It was hard to get used to the hit detection though. It's a shame that there's no audio.
Very moody and creepy, congratulations! If I had to find fault it's these: the map is not well connected and doesn't really allow tactical play, instead it's all about camping a spot (via trial and error) that people don't walk past. Also, the sudden turns of NPCs make the game too hard (again, until you memorise the patterns).
Still, it's overall a great game. Love the music and the atmosphere.
The game feels very good to play, the minotaur looks totally bad ass :)
Outstanding, I love how polished the graphics and audio are.
Looks pretty good; I'm on a slow computer and this game was barely playable, maybe there are too many buildings
Nice music and I love the title screen.
100 might be too many! I think this can be improved with different kinds of enemies.
The graphics and sounds are very cute!
Very polished game.
I enjoyed this game! It's a great effort for 6 hours; I think you can make excellent RPGs like this, hope to see more from you.
It's a great idea, but this could have been awesome if the controls were better, i.e. more RTS-like! I can't click fast enough to win :(
Well, not much to do with the theme but the game is very cool. The shape of the field is a bit strange though, why not a regular hexagon? Very fun game.
Interesting idea
Pretty funny game :) Must consume and get bigger!
I submitted two cancer research bills and my voter approval shot up to 247%! The voters love cancer research!
I'm not sure what your political views were so I found it hard to guess which bills were supposed to be evil :P Perhaps you can colour-code the bills based on their evilness.
Very cool game! There sure are a lot of hazards though :)
This was surprisingly fun :)
nice
The game is well made, I thought the gun was broken until I realised you can zoom in with mouse wheel :) Still, one major complaint: the warping effect is too nauseous!
@peterthehe thanks! You are right combos should be more obvious, they already give you more score but you may not have noticed because the different enemy types are worth different points already.
As you've stated, the game is too simple but it's very well presented, I hope next time you'll get enough time to do ample play testing!
I love the idea behind this game! The art and eccentric personalities remind me of old Bullfrog games, very cool.
Simple and fun! I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but aiming has no effect, so there was no need to use the mouse for attacking.
Hey, you got a lot done for the jam so that's pretty good! I've made strategy games for jams before so I know just how much work they are :)
P.S. OS X version works fine.
I loved the ambient music! It was very creepy.
Pretty polished game, would be awesome with real gun sounds if it weren't for the compo rules
The russian "come to me" was hilarious
Good stuff
I'm pretty confused; love the music though
I gave you a perfect score; no complaints this was funny and fun! Very interesting 4th-wall humour.
This is certainly a gorgeous game, but I kept getting hit randomly, I'm not sure what was happening. The gameplay is too simple to do this game justice. Very good overall.
OS X version works by the way.
The level graphics look very attractive, I love it
I think the way you've set up the level and the weight of the tombstone are making the game too hard, but there's a lot of potential with the idea. I'm thinking of physics-based gameplay and puzzles, I hope you experiment some more. The artwork looks very nice.
Very nice idea! I also love the music, it's very good for a jam. I think if you tighten the puzzles a bit (e.g. the levels are a bit too spacious) this can make a pretty cool puzzle game!
Haha, way to make milking disturbing :)
The game is pretty good, I think the viewport is a bit too small and the coeds run around too quickly, so you end up running around randomly hoping to catch one without a weapon. Nice atmosphere.
The intro was great; the round runs a bit long though.
This looks and sounds very nice, I like where you were going with the transformation idea but I got stuck at the big jump with the water tower so I didn't see much of the game. I think if you had concentrated on the gameplay and less of the story, you can make a more complete game!
It's a cool idea, but I'm not sure it's been fully executed. Maybe the game is too easy - I simply spammed monsters near a locked door and that was enough to scare them every time. But otherwise it looks great!
This one is pretty fun :) It could have done with a bit more polish; most of the time is wasted looking for the remaining humans, so how far you make it is based on luck. I like the infection mechanic, it could be expanded into an interesting game.
The flashlight effect is pretty neat! Are the zombies supposed to be invincible?
This is a very funny game :) the sounds were hilarious although some were too abrasive. I love the graphics and mouth animations.
This is pretty well made, the gameplay is just great. The controls could feel a little better though, I feel the flaps aren't high enough and don't feel as natural as say flappy bird, and I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but a flap immediately following a dive goes very high. Once I got used to it the game felt great.
Cool idea!
Great game! It's a lot of fun, aside from missing sound and juice, the rocks that the mob throw are too fast to avoid. 783m is my score from the first run.
This was pretty well made, congratulations! The twist was very clever, I barely missed it!
Interesting game, although the speed makes the game a bit tedious. Maybe speeding everything up will make this more fun?
A very interesting idea; I'm not sure if there's any strategy except keep playing cards until you get your stats up, and I think the ability cards don't work, but it seems very promising and may turn out to be a fun multiplayer card game! For example, you could have a game where you try to scare your opponent's humans with your monster before they do the same to yours...
404 error on all the download links, please fix!
I love the crunchy sounds when you eat things! The gameplay is pretty interesting too.
This is very fun, it's a great mechanic. Unfortunately the pacing is too slow, but that's simple to fix. If you don't further develop this game, I'm totally stealing this idea.
I like the shaking plants when you walk near them, nice touch! Although I guess many have said this already, now I know what too much screen shake is like! :)
Immersive and atmospheric. Love the mood you've set here. Chapter 3 drags on for too long, but overall the writing is great.
The artwork is really nice.
Great music; the game is very hard to play single player
Interesting idea, it's a shame that it wasn't fully shown in the game - the beam just makes people randomly explode, or so it seemed. The bullets don't stand out against the blue background. Otherwise it's pretty good!
Neat idea :) There were other entries that did the transform-into-monster thing but this one made great use of the mechanic; would have been perfect with audio.
Very juicy! The artwork is great and I love the composition in the background. It's a shame that there's not much game here, or else it would be a very competitive entry.
The graphics are sweet! Shame there's not much game here though
Great music but I don't think you made it :P
Eventually it gets too hard because there are too many enemies!
This is kind of nice I guess! I like the death sounds -- eeeuugh!!! :D
A well made game, the mechanics are really interesting, although it gets a bit tedious because the humans rebuild so quickly :(
Nice mood, although the ending was a bit jarring. Animations were pretty neat.
High quality, I think everyone's said what I wanted to say :) good work
Unfortunately I can't get this to run; I get an error message "Data folder not found" "There should be 'AbnormalSlime_Data' folder next to the executable", but I can see the folder right there :( I'm on Windows 10 by the way, other Unity games work for me.
The controls are a bit floaty; I love the main character design, very cute!
Cool game, very juicy although the camera and screen shake are overdone. The graphics are great too.
The OS X version doesn't work
Wow, excellent game! The level design is very cozy, I'm betting your team has map design experience because it shows.
When I realised the "hold back the monster" part could be a metaphor for holding back your boner I laughed :D cool game
Very nice drawn graphics!
This is pretty cool, but hard to get into, due to the lack of polish. It's a great start.
Cool idea, although the controls were quite overwhelming as you had to aim, get close enough (but not too close) to the bullets, *and* time your attacks to the rhythm. Still it was pretty fun.
Excellent music and graphics, well done!
At first I thought it was a clone of that period trine, but then horns! hahaha! Good stuff
Pretty funny :) Damn normies swarming me! I just made a beeline for 10,10
A very polished effort! I didn't realise what was going on with the dotted line and that you could jump on crabs, after that it was a lot of fun.
The game is pretty good except the controls are too floaty and I got stuck on too many random edges to finish.
Pretty good, there's a lot of game that you managed to pack in here; it's a shame about the difficulty spike!
Hahaha this was delightful! What a silly game, really enjoyed it
The hacking minigame was interesting, but the FPS portion is way too hard! I wonder if there was a way to make it easier via more hacking?
Unfortunately this game is a bit too buggy... I didn't get to do anything apart from gather water from the tree, and I lost the fishing rod in the water I think
@mortalfosca what menus??? Ahh I think you mean the ones that come with the TIC-80! You should try it out, it's a fun way to make games!
Outstanding presentation on this game, especially the music and art, they are fantastic! You really out to create some nice screenshots and cover art for this entry, and link to your team members' portfolios. Great work!
Wow this was ridiculously fun! The themes were hilarious too. Good job!
Hey, very impressive that you completed a proper TD in a solo weekend!
Haha, love the funny text descriptions. Very bright and colourful! Wish there was sound!
Cute game! Love the chill jazz theme with the meows!
Pretty cute and janky game  the game's premise is totally bizarre and funny
Very odd premise of a game but it kept getting better! Fun
Great style and polish! I wish the puzzles were more intuitive, some required lots of trial and error, but very good overall.
Oh man I did not expect nihilism! The agent behaviour is pretty neat! Amazing you got four phases in such a short amount of time. Great music too!
Yay sokoban! This one was pretty well made, although the puzzles could be a little more elegant imo. Cute animations and character design!
Unfortunately this game doesn't work for me! Can't get past the username screen, Create User button does nothing
haha... how do you start the game???
Very good! And a very polished game. One nitpick: the catapult physics are really unpredictable - you could be flung very close or very far, so it's kind of imbalanced. With the right amount of tweaks this could be a great mobile game!
Yes, I have indeed, won :) The character animations are neat
A nice relaxing game! It was fun!
This shooting game feels very nice to play! Good job!
Very solid entry; it's a shame there's not much gameplay beyond making decisions, but it's so much fun watching the brutal action going on! Also do not go to old haven...
Very delightful mayhem! Shame there's no sound, but nice screenshake  This could be very fun with the right amount of balancing
This is a very interesting idea, navigating using sound only. It's a shame there's no game here and there's nothing to do except explore!
This must be what it feels like to be in soviet russia, with the oppressive music and people ordering you to get a job!
The art and sound are both great! It's unfortunate that the jumping puzzles are so hard! Thankfully there are restart points but it's very frustrating :(
This was pretty fun! Graphics are basic but you got nice explosion and shake effects :) I wish you had auto fire though!
Wow very impressive. Although like many others said, the later puzzles get damn hard! I also got stuck trying to solve 5. If the difficulty curve was gentler this would be perfect!
Oh man this is so interesting! Great idle game!
This is very well put together, great ambiance. The pacing is uneven though, ideally the puzzles would start easy and get hard but I found it was all over the place. With careful balance this could be outstanding. Well done!
This has outstanding mood and sound design. It's a shame that the pacing is very slow and when you restart, there are no more attacks. Overall very great presentation.
Haha, a funny game. Took me a while to figure out what's going on because once you're hit with KWZ you can't get inspired for a bit.
Very relaxing! If it was a bit more interesting - wandering aimlessly and not being able to see much is boring - this would be even more awesome!
The theme of an idle game as a growing flowering plant is really nice! It's very relaxing watching the seedlings float away. How I wish you added a soothing music track to go with it! I played some of my music instead and it was great. Please consider finding some music next time!
Great mood established by this game, I love the use of dynamic audio cues, it really makes the world come alive. There was a little too much going on at the end and the game was very laggy, but on a powerful computer this would have been great.
Haha...now I'm blind!!! fun game, love the music
Haha what a daft game! So funny
Very atmospheric game. The diary could've been a bit louder, and the flame indication could be more obvious, and it's quite easy to get lost in the woods. Apart from that the mechanics work very well. The gameplay I'm not so sure about - having to worry about the flames going out adds stress to the game, but there's not much excitement apart from finding the odd diary. I feel as if this game would work better if you removed all stress, i.e. a walking simulator, or added more cool things to find or a clear goal to the game. Still, very well made game.
Interesting and short little game! I would have loved to see more puzzles and mechanics. I wonder if a normal square grid would have been easier to work with?
Fantastic mood set up by the lighting and music. It was a bit confusing if this was supposed to be a low-stakes atmospheric game or a puzzle game, but it could work as either with a bit more work. Nice entry!
What you have here looks pretty good, the shooting mechanic is great; wish you had more time to finish it!
Very innovative minigame! I feel like it'll be a cool puzzle in an RPG or something. Maybe beats going slower/faster would have worked better than pitch though. A bit more polish and this would have been even better!
If you enjoyed the music it's available here on soundcloud! https://soundcloud.com/congus-bongus/keep-your-dream-alive Thanks for the feedback everyone!
@endurion thanks for the feedback! No spot is completely safe, but you are kind of right that some spots are safer than others, due to the frequency of different enemy patterns.
Short and sweet game, I love the sound effects and music it makes it really juicy. I wish you could make more levels. Some suggestions - do some playtesting, there were difficulty spikes which were annoying; add a restart button because on some levels if you fail near the start the rest of the attempt is pointless. Overall very well polished.
Really interesting game idea!
Very relaxing! I think with improved graphics this works nicely as a screensaver
Hahaha the sound effects make the game! So funny
Nice idea, shame that you couldn't get around to finishing the rockets/satellite.
Nice art, it really has that anarchic newgrounds style to it!
Haha love the idea of using "smooth" jazz as music for an alley cat! The "meow" killed me - so funny The mechanics took a bit to understand - the cat would jump when reaching the end of a platform - but it works.
Really interesting game! The difficulty spikes but the gameplay feels great!
I had trouble with the boar as well - a tip is to start moving in the direction it's going to move to after you catch up to it immediately, so you don't spend as much time chasing it. Pretty fun game and love the way the story unfolds!
Very impressed - best LD game of this jam so far! Only minor quibble is that the music is a bit too short and simple but otherwise just fantastic!
There's a lot of nice touches to this game as others have mentioned, the cutting mechanic, the resource system etc, but yeah it's very slow paced, especially for a large jam where everyone's trying to play lots of games  I hope you keep that in mind for next time and make something faster paced, then it would be awesome!
Haha I love the idea of using jingle bells for the snow!
There's a lot of detail in this game but it's all a bit inscrutable to me! It would be nice if there were a gentle introduction to this, very interesting worldbuilding going on here.
Did you make the music or was it pre made?
Some instructions would be nice - I finally figured out you can pick up the vase(?) but nothing else.
Surprisingly fun game! The enemies were quite imaginative, especially the last type of UFO which followed your cursor. It made the gameplay very interesting.
There's an amazing amount of polish here, including the sound effects and music, really well done. The boss battle was underwhelming because it was too long, but otherwise an incredible effort.
Very well polished, the music really set the mood for this odd and silly-looking platformer! The bpm mechanic is really interesting, haven't ever seen anything quite like it before. The last level is the one that uses it well but it's also a bit fiddly as you had to wait until the exact moment to make the jump. I'm sure with a bit of tweaking this could be a pretty interesting core mechanic!
Hahaha it took me a while to figure out what the game was about but it was pretty funny! Shame there's no audio, but the presentation was very good otherwise.
Very nice looking game! I'm not sure how it's supposed to be played though, the ducklings keep going away. Love the music and aesthetic.
This is such a silly game! Playing it feels very good and it's fun, well done!
Love the music, there's a lot of it and it's really well done. A bit too happy but I guess the game itself is silly enough :)
Quite an interesting idea, I suppose it takes elements from shmups to idle games.
Really slick game, interesting premise - a creepy beat-em-up! The music is suitably dark and the sound effects were really juicy.
Please include libjpeg-8.dll, libFLAC-8.dll, libfluidsynth-2.dll, libmodplug-1.dll as well
Haha the sounds were hilarious!
The graphics are really nice but I was a bit lost and the game crashed on me :( P.S. please play and give feedback on others' games, this will result in more views for your game!
Love the ambient music and overall mood. At first I thought the wood was placed too sparsely but I barely made it on the second attempt so I guess the game is pretty carefully balanced. The footprints and sound effects were core to the gameplay, very cool to see.
Simple and fun. Good work!
Unfortunately this didn't work for me; it was missing Unityplayer.dll
Nice rendition of disco music! This is like a music game but much harder because the squares are all offset lol
The presentation is really nice here, it's amazing you got in 3 different mechanics - combat, ally/crowd control, and resource management. It could have done with some balancing though, and the choice of control scheme was a bit weird, but all in all pretty fun!
This is a very dark game! I like the number of different mechanics you added, keeps it interesting
The game looks gorgeous; the perspective however is really disorienting, you have to rely on the radar which is itself a bit confusing. I'm sure with enough practice you can get used to it, but 3D radars are tough to get right in general. Mechanics work well, great polish.
Nice idea for the gameplay but the camera angle is a bit disorienting! Good graphics
Haha I love the idea of using segways so you don't have to animate legs :)
Cool theme! Not sure if it's just me but the queen loses health way too quickly! There's no way to keep her alive for long
Driving mechanics are hard to tune! I wish you could have devoted more time to make it feel better. The detailed city map was nice.
The soundtrack is pretty catchy! Card games can be ambitious for short jams, it's tough to come up with one that's both compelling and balanced. Good effort!
The screen doesn't work properly - I can only see the goblin building icon. Good attempt at an RTS! They are very hard to make in a jam.
Pretty nice TD game! The game could have helped with a shallower learning curve - it wasn't clear how to play the game at the start, and I didn't know you could move the towers around. Nice music and cute sprites! Which people on your team did what work?
Really well presented adventure/puzzle game! The traps are very unforgiving though, I died many times.
Outstanding. The art is very cute, there's plenty of sound effects and juice. A very detailed story as well. One of the best!
I love the backstory here! Reminds me of my own puppy who I have to watch like an eagle because he'll try to eat anything because he's a silly lab
Amazing amount of polish, great graphics and really good music. Amazing this was all done in the compo time, well done!
The controls are a bit disorienting, but otherwise I love the art style, very moody!
I love the variety of music added to this game, gives it a really comfy mood! The plant doesn't grow realistically but I love the amount of detail in the sprites.
Nice and simple fun game. It's a shame you didn't polish it more or it could have been even more amazing!
This is a pretty cool idea for a game! I feel as if the execution could have been improved - maybe a party game of some sort with this mechanic would be cool. Keep it up!
The movement is a bit floaty but I'll pretend that it's on ice :) Good effort!
Nice idea, an extra day of work would really have brought everything together I think.
Not sure what the goal of the game is :(
Good game feel, and I like the music!
I love games where you kill tourists hahaha Very fun, some of the traps are quite inventive and make you think about how to place them. The click areas could be enlarged to make them easier to activate.
Haha! This game's premise is very funny, love the random thoughts flying in
The pixel artwork was really cool. Love the idle animation
Screen Shot 2021-04-27 at 10.01.52 pm.png I tried the mac version and the game looks like this to me :frowning2:
Very pretty and funny characters! The music is also cute. Well done!
Great use of the theme to build up to something really moody. The ambient sound effects were great.
Screen Shot 2021-04-27 at 10.07.43 pm.png I'm getting this for the mac version... any ideas? What game engine/framework did you use?
Superb! It was quite an experience. Well done for a big talented team!
I played the mac version and the colours look wrong; I wonder if this has to do with UE4? I noticed similar issues with other UE4 games Screen Shot 2021-04-29 at 8.21.37 pm.png
Haha I love the angry planets, gives them a lot of personality Using a keyboard button would be better for shooting
I answered "plumbing for idiots" to the farmer then got stuck haha... Great VA! The village was kind of creepy with the square heads, nice atmosphere
I really love this. It's a very interesting mechanic and the game is very juicy. I wish there was some music!
Cute game, short and sweet!
Why am I playing this when I'm trying to go to sleep to hahaha very nice, it was really fun
This game feels great to play! One complaint and that most helicopters are too high to reach :( but great work making this with only one team member!
Nice, the game is a whole package and gives the player a very calm and introspective feeling.
This game takes a lot of patience to play! I wish it were easier haha
Love the loops, very stylish
Well done, cute game made by one person team!
Great polish! I wish there were more minigames, and more of the warioware vibe. The britishness was very funny and spot on. Long live the Queen!
This game is pretty cool. I like what you're going for, a mountain-climbing themed game is great and I like how the minigames were all designed around that theme. I feel that the minigames were each a bit unpolished, so maybe it would have been better if you focused on just one game and made it the game. Pretty good overall!
This is a pretty cute game! The presentation is nice and the audio is quirky, well done
This is pretty polished, the platforming is a bit twitchy but good overall. The cost to upgrade was too high though and required lots of replays. I love the glitchy graphics.
Pretty fun game, would love to see more polish. I didn't quite understand the enemies that kept transforming, or enemies that didn't die when the health bar was empty - maybe their true health was higher? I liked the transparent walls, kept things nice and playable.
Really fun game! The story and art are both really cute, it's a very well presented game.
I love love love this! The comics are gold, such an evil horse. It's a shame there's no audio because it would have made this perfect.
Haha I always love a unity capsule game :P
Cool idea and I wonder if it will be even better as a pure simulation. The number of humans can go negative which is weird.
Hey pretty cool idea. The gameplay could be polished a bit, I think the mass change could be discrete and maybe not time-based so that this becomes more puzzle-like, but other than that everything else is great. Nice job!
Haha this was really nail biting to play! It's a very funny and cool take on the theme.
Duck cannot into delivering lightning bolt pizza boxes :( Looks promising, but it's very hard! Does the level end?
If the game gets stuck on a black screen after choosing your name, wait a few seconds and click a few times, the game should progress.
Nice idea, the art is really cute! But for some reason the game keeps ending, even if I attack the monsters. I wonder if there should be some more indication of what's going on Please fix the submission; the link should show windows instead of source code
Simple graphics but they are clean and pleasing to look at. I mean googly eyed capsules! I love the idea, fits the theme and it could work really well as a co-op game. Only complaint is that you don't have eyes on everything at once so it's hard to know when to steer.
Nothing is more depressing than dying capsules...
What can I say, this is the best interpretation of the theme I've seen, an innovative game mechanic, and very well implemented with the music speed. If I had to nitpick the platforming can be polished a bit, including the wall jumping, and the difficulty spikes at about level 9-10, but those are easily forgivable for a weekend game. Well done!
I enjoyed this game, it looks great and plays well. The minimap is a nice touch, although I think maybe if you scaled the graphics down it would have worked too. Who on the team did what by the way?
This game is fun and very easy to get into. As others have mentioned, this has potential and could be pretty cool if there were more strategic depth. The art style is very cute!
Hehe the mechanic is quite fun! I like the creative interpretation of the theme. Having delayed controls makes the game a bit more cerebral. I wonder if it will work well in other contexts?
This game is pretty and sounds great. Likewise I had to stop after a few minutes due to getting motion sickness - the mouse sensitivity is way too high! Otherwise a very comfy setting.
I like how the game difficulty is tuned well. It is not too easy to be boring nor too hard to be frustrating.
The flapping is pretty tricky, I think if you decayed horizontal velocity it would be more intuitive. Good job on attempting a unique mechanic, I think the world needs more flapping games!
This is a cute and pretty game. Love the detail on the earth. You can fire fast by spamming the shoot key which makes this feel like a retro shmup. Music would have been perfect.
Nice crimsonland like game, very juicy. Hitsounds would have been great!
The hex movement was surprisingly easy to get used to. There is a lot of juice, from the sounds to the tile animations. You've got something cool on your hands
I can confirm the mac build doesn't work :( (dw I didn't rate)
20955 Pretty fun game, quite polished.
The tractor was definitely the hardest to fill - the timing is very tricky, it seems that you need to press space just before when it seems like you're supposed to. Reducing power when you miss is punishing and it gives the player the impression that it's not doing anything, so better feedback would definitely help. I like the concept though, where the player is overwhelmed by trying to do a lot of things at once, if the different elements were more intuitive (or having a difficulty ramp up) it would work really well.
This is a pretty neat game! I guess I won't question why jellies, because why not?!? Healer jellies are pretty imba lol Very fun I enjoyed it
The game is definitely interesting, if somewhat puzzling. Really cool to see such games during a jam!
Nice game! Works well, and fits the theme perfectly. The sound and visual effects were pretty goofy but it made the game very satisfying to play.
@rinkuji thanks for the feedback! The thumbnail issue was temporary, it should be fixed now
Pretty impressive making so many short tracks in a weekend! This is very impressive, can't think of any major things that could have been better. The presentation is just fantastic, love the dancing jukebox and backgrounds.
I like this take on the theme, the idea is quite clever. I must admit I'm not good at block puzzles and it was too harsh for me to solve! I think the theme works against this mechanic.
The music and art are both pretty neat, it gives it a mysterious mood.
The game doesn't seem to work - I cannot drag gold onto towers. Maybe this is an issue with the web build?
drag.gif @solrun it still doesn't seem to work for me, see screen recording. Are the small maroon squares the gold? They are not following the mouse. Also I've noticed that I have to use shift+X / shift+G to delete/build gold; X/G alone does nothing I'm using mac
Screen Shot 2022-10-15 at 4.38.07 pm.png I'm getting this error as soon as I reach the exit of the first level
The presentation is very nice, great music, artwork is amazing. It seems to be a bit buggy, sometimes I'm getting invisible pancakes that won't flip, and I feel the screen shake and camera pan are confusing and don't feel great. But overall this is awesome.
The game background looks pretty neat! Too bad it isn't interactive though. I think more time devoted to juice (UI sound effects, in-game help like tooltips) would have helped. I couldn't figure out how to look after the cryptomon as their health just constantly drained. Was this an unimplemented feature?
Couldn't really rate the fun of the game since I am only a single player. Otherwise looks pretty polished! The audio really contributed to the mood, and the run cycles were pretty funny! As others have said powerups would have been awesome, if only to encourage the players to go to certain locations.
Love the little touches like the cute walking animation, satisfying shoot and hit sounds, and the music is pretty cool too. I feel that the safe(?) opening action takes too long which slows down the pacing of an otherwise fast paced shooting game. Kinda fun anyway! This reminds me of the flash shooting games with upgrades.
Really nice game! I love the graphics and the juice is very satisfying. The gameplay is pretty interesting, but I can see how crunch really hurt you here - the difficulty rampup is too gradual, and it's quite boring at the start. I'm sure with some playtesting and tuning it could have been really compelling. Small nitpick: the A button also moves left because of Unity; a bit annoying. Overall very good! And congratulations on 10 consecutive submissions, that's very impressive!
Hit it out of the park with the music, even the goofy sound effects work pretty well! Graphics are nice, clear and functional. This is a great use of the theme, there is genuine tension with being chased by guards and hoping the teleport kicks in! I wish there were cleverer levels that challenge the player and force creative uses of the teleport mechanic. Bit of jank as you can teleport outside the level haha! Great entry overall, very fun.
Pretty neat idea and take on the hot potato mechanic. Some more environmental interactivity might help, for example stunning each other by throwing things, jumping on each other, knocking things over with the bomb and so on. Nice polish with the roman theme!
Nice, tight puzzle game. The puzzle logic makes sense which is pretty good, and suits the fast paced action. Great use of storytelling to teach the player how to play the game. A shame about the abrupt ending! Would have loved to see some sort of creepy twist here.
@fae-pdf "jo" is the first part of "johnny" as in "here's johnny", a the shining reference. Nice little misdirection for what to use the axe for!
Love pablo's clothing choice, very fiesta!
This is a very good entry. Love the music and attention given to sound effects, nice! As others have said the movement mechanics could have been tightened up, and perhaps some landmarks could have helped the player navigate. The sprites would have been better if the interactive elements stood out more - either via strong contrast or via animation. Just nitpicks, because overall it's a great game. Well done!
The controls feel a bit weird, the top speed feels a bit too aggressive. But together with the chaotic music, it gives it a weird madcap energy that is quite amusing. It was a treat to play!
I didn't get any audio... was it because of the LD embed?
First off, really nice background art, looks very detailed and a lived-in space. The gameplay seems simplistic, I wonder if more was planned but not enough time available? For example, I think it would be cool if to fix things, you needed to move across different areas, or there were dependencies between problems, so that you can be a bit more strategic about what to fix first. A promising start. Comfy game!
@algebruh the sound problem was on my end, sorry for the confusion; updated audio score! Pretty chill music!
Perfect use of the theme. Nice work!
This is a game for anyone who has been judged by cats. Which is everyone. Diabolical! Like it. The sound effects are very satisfying and the music is pretty quirky too
Everyone needs a skateboarding cat. Nice game! The double jumping (?) mechanic was tricky to master.
gotta admit it feels weird to be much weaker than the enemy, and only having three shots that reload in a long time! But once I understood what was going on, it was an interesting game. I think a sound effect when you are firing should make it very obvious that the blue tank is shooting. Overall nice entry for your first jam!
The different ages are unique so that was cool to see. Too bad most of the abilities seem to be useless haha! Maybe this is a commentary on life? Interesting take on the theme
This game ended too soon! The art is beautiful, I wonder if too much time was spent on it than the rest of the game lol! Good effort for a first game
Wow I did not expect a TBT game, this is full of surprises. I hope it was as fun to make as it was to play!
Really fun and interesting mashup of game mechanics. Personally I found the shooting part less fun as the charging and aiming were at odds with the fast paced driving part, so I wonder if a simplified shooting mechanic would work better - for example, fixed power, one or two button shooting without aiming. But with the right level design I think it could be made to work well too. Music is top notch, cool eurobeats.
@skitefall thanks for playing! And good suggestion for the portal, I've updated the graphics to make it clearer
@isadora it’s tic-80 :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: which is like pico8 but bigger Thanks for the feedback!
@f1krazy thanks for playing! Yes level 9 is especially hard and is the last level. The level creator is a mad genius and even I could not solve it. Post jam we will add lead up levels to teach more tricks before this level. If it helps here are some hints: - the folders need to loop around the monitors, and finally exit the loop when they are done - the gate needs to be in the loop, to divert complete folders out of the loop and to the exit - the exit can only be reached by going through a monitor from the outside
There is also a let’s play video where the streamer works through this level and eventually solves it: https://www.youtube.com/live/JHbwctQOH9I?feature=share
I love the package spawning sound, it is very juicy and moist.
The mechanics of this game were really unusual, and I found myself coming back to this again and again until I mastered it! It's certainly something that feels great. The art is cool but the symbols were quite inscrutable, it took some trial and error to figure out what everything was - the egg, the attack thing, or random bits in the background that do nothing. I guess with a more conventional theme (like maybe sandworm?) the game would be less confusing at the start.
Nice polished incremental game! The art is pretty cute and the music is enjoyable to listen to. The mechanics are a bit overwhelming as there are 3 resource types and lots of types of bees, so it's unclear what the best choices are. I think some extra sound effects could have helped make things more satisfying. Great game for the jam!
Excellent music as expected, love how it is dynamic. Very dark ending! Only thing I would suggest is that the fast running section feels a bit uncomfortable especially with the camera follow. Looking forward to the extended version of the music!
I couldn't really understand what was going on as I could not find anyone with a box on their head, and when I did 5 other boats got there before me! I like the water effects though, it was really nice.
Just a super polished early NES style game, I can see this being released as an NES game today for retro game enthusiasts. Game feel is great, the mechanics of throwing packages to kill enemies is tricky but satisfying when you get the hang of it. One nitpick is the lack of game music, but this is totally understandable given similar games of the era.
This is a special kind of crazy and it's awesome! Top art as expected, the audio, story and v/o are all very good, game works really smoothly with no jank. The idea is really cool, it's like a warioware masquerading as a driving game. If I had to nitpick it would be that the base driving game seems to be a bit neglected, I would have appreciated slightly more cars and variety, but the game is great regardless.
We made a similar game in LD51 (driving while texting) so it's fun to see how different teams come up with their own spin on the same idea!
I'm not sure how I triggered it but the two delivery people I got were stuck outside the delivery building, so I could not continue. I think there's a nice idea lurking under here, but probably the jam was too short to fully realise it? It is a comfy mood though!
Pretty neat platformer, surprised how many mechanics you managed to implement in the amount of time - gates, blocks etc. The low res sprites are pretty cute and the game feel is solid, minus a few small bits of jank on ladders and passing through some walls.
I liked it, a nice short game, worked reasonably well aside from the wonky physics but it wasn't a big deal. Love the detail like robot eyes!
There's a great number of puzzles here, very fun. Solid sound effects and cute art.
Not bad, getting the hang of the mechanics was fun, it's like a bombing game :) The gameplay is very simple, it would have been nice if you could extend it with obstacles to avoid, or scores for accuracy, hitting moving objects, that kind of thing. The music is pretty neat!
Top game, the sound and mood is very chill, like old school Tron/Darwinia vibes. The controls and constant zooming in and out get a bit clunky but otherwise the game is very compelling. Well done!
Love the voice acting! Fun to play but hard on a touchpad
I like killing customers with the food!
Really sweet game, action is smooth and the premise is pretty wicked. One complaint is that the camera follow is very disorienting, I think if the camera was fixed or smoothly followed it would be much better. SFX was good especially the smash sound, would be even better if they were higher fidelity than the bfxr/sfxr stuff, to fit better with the music.
This is a very nice chill game. The atmosphere, graphics, sound, were really good. I especially liked the trip to the red area, where you can see the base below, that was a nice touch. The level design in the starting base could be improved a bit though, as on several occasions I found myself going in the wrong direction so I had to turn back. Overall very good!
Really neat, the music was cool but could be tweaked to be less intense later on. I like the idea behind some of the minigames, but it's hard to figure out what they are supposed to do. Nice graphical touches showing this is a beat up piece of crap ship!
Short and sweet! The player jumping around like a jackrabbit was unintentionally hilarious.
This game has a surprisingly great game feel. Usually platformers are one of my least favourite games to play in jams because it's hard to get the feel right, but here it feels great rushing towards the exit. There are some spots where you are making blind jumps or falls but other than that it's tweaked well. Love the music, sound effects and the whole idea of an egg cracking to slide... hahaha, nice game!
Nicely executed game! I feel the starting levels were too slow but as the rules got more complex the game became more fun to play. It would have been nice if you used other things like shape to differentiate the colours, as it would be more accessible.
The sound is just so cute. Love a bit of gibberish speech! The game is a bit slow paced and it was damn hard playing on a laptop, but with a bit of streamlining this could be pretty comfy, like a relaxing version of papers please. And yes the customers are unintentionally terrifying.
Definitely one of those games that are fun to fail at! I love the goofy bear animations, it's such a delight to watch. I'm looking forward to the full version, where the bear performs surgeries and fills prescriptions.
This has the chaotic energy and crazy jank of early newgrounds games, kinda fun! I love the little touches like generous continue points, an unpassable wall at the start to prevent the player killing themselves, and camera repositioning points, to offset the floaty platforming and overall randomness.
The mood of the game is excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game. The track building mechanic is certainly unusual, I'm not sure it works perfectly as it requires a lot of clicks and sometimes trial and error since the source and destinations are often off camera, but it shows promise and with some QoL tweaks and clever level design I'm sure it can work very well. Lovely presentation and music.
The mechanics in this game are pretty nice. Initially I thought I had to carry before throwing but in many of the levels, you are more efficient by attacking the packages without carrying it. It seems that there's potential here that isn't fully explored by the current set of levels, such that the player will need to use all three types of skills - carrying, throwing, and attacking - to complete more challenging levels. Also I wonder if there is a tension between having a time limit and having to complete a set number of packages, a little more focus could improve the game balance. Apart from that, really nice art and music, great polish.
Love the art in the game, clean and readable. Solid sokoban like game!
The HTML5 link is broken
Love the little quips, and for some reason ukulele music. The driver in the middle of town seems lost. It would help to have a map or compass, or maybe name the hospitals by their location on the map?
Unfortunately I don't have a mouse (only trackpad) so I couldn't fully enjoy this game, but it's pretty neat! The table objects that you can throw off and just respawn is pretty funny, it's like they are coming back to spite you  The rules are a bit overwhelming, I wonder if you could start with only one or two stamp types, and then gradually add more, to ease the player into the game.
Pretty cute game! I love the random cats that are placed around, they do nothing but are awesome anyway! The platforming feels too fast, and the boxes get stuck really easily, I think if the physics can be tweaked it could feel much better
Pretty cozy and neat looking game. It was hard to control the cursor sometimes because it would unpredictably jump around, maybe not having it blink will help. It would have been nice to have the levels progress in difficulty, as it seems even the first level was quite challenging compared to the tutorial. But apart from that it works great, and some extra juice like sfx would make it even more satisfying.
This is really well made, the amount of polish is very high, the chip sounds are very convincing! Only shortcoming is this is a clone of papers please so there's not much new here, but everything else is fantastic!
I like the level design, it was fun to prance around the levels and they weren't overly confusing. Challenging game!
This is a very fun game! Art, sound and music were all pretty good, although one problem with the gameplay is that it easily snowballs, so I wonder if you add things like random pickups or buff reset abilities like the fireball, it can help balance the game. I think there's something great to build off here. Great job!
Not bad, the mechanics of the game were simple but worked well. I think some tweaking and it could be made pretty compelling, for example extending on the mechanics of running away from enemies, maybe more enemies to avoid, and other ways to stop them like running around obstacles, setting traps and so on.
This game is really polished, love the effects everywhere and cozy music. The card descriptions are also very fun!
The gameplay was quite opaque but it seems promising - there wasn't enough feedback to experiment and figure out winning strategies though. A cool idea!
Damn, this game has a simple premise but the features work together just right so the game is really really fun. I love the 3 classes of summons giving it high replayability. I think the only weak point is the audio, which could be a bit more punchy to make it more satisfying, but it's still pretty decent. Everything else is superb!
This is a very fun game, the graphics and sound are simple yet satisfying - love the little wiggle when characters move! Dungeon generation and pathfinding are also solid. I think similar to other games that summon familiars, the game suffers from snowballing - basically the dominant strategy is to just summon a huge army and the massive DPS will roll over any opposition. But once you solve that problem and flesh this game out a bit, I can see a pretty fun coffeebreak action roguelike in the works! Great entry
pretty smooth game, with a few more tweaks and polish it would be really awesome - like auto shoot and more levels (or just ramping up waves)! The summon theme is a bit underutilised as I feel your own spiders didn't do much, but I like the concept of summoners battling each other!
Neat idea, although I wonder if you chose a good framework for this kind of thing, it would have been much easier to make - and thus leave you more time to flesh out the gameplay. It was a nice short game anyway, the graphics were cute!
Interesting take on a JRPG! The battle mechanics are well thought out, although it is quite difficult. I wonder if you had used RPG maker or something like that, it would have been easier?
Pretty fun game, using the numpad was a bit weird (some people don't have numpads), the variety of gameplay was nice, like the number of enemy types. The pace of the game was a bit slow - the player bullets especially - so the gameplay was not as satisfying as it could have been. Solid entry!
This is an ambitious entry, with multiple game modes; if only you closed the game loop by adding a way to spend the money (on upgrades perhaps) then it would have been fantastic! Pretty decent game, and impressive that this was done as a compo entry.
this was a really interesting idea. I can see a lot of areas for improvement but overall the game is still pretty well executed. Nice graphics, simple and effective audio, and the gameplay is quite smooth. I think the other comments covered the main issues, but basically the gameplay could do with some smoothing over - typing opposites is really hard, what about typing 0-9 but the opposite required you to type the opposite number? Having to pause between summons breaks the flow a bit, it would be nice to be able to type very fast and stay in the flow. The mid game drags on a bit, it would be nicer to have some indication of closeness to the end. Pretty sweet game!
Interesting mechanics, it's an ambitious game idea! I hope you try it out using a real card game!
It's an interesting take on the papers please like gameplay. It took a bit of guesswork to figure out the gameplay but it was satisfying once I did. The gameplay doesn't seem to ramp up or get harder though. The audio is great too, very moody.
lots of sagittarius I guess having 100 sagittarius is also a way to break the game? It was fun, reminds me of those old defend the castle flash games
Hahaha I love the random art cribbed from all sorts of places, it has real placeholder vibes but is also hilarious. Cool gameplay!
I really love this idea, but the difficulty just spikes too hard. I think with the right amount of tweaking and playtesting, this can be a real gem. Some observations: hard to tell where the lift is, the only indication is the red/green light which could be hard for colourblind folks; when people get in the lift you can't see which floor they want to go anymore. Loved everything else about it, the hilarious cats, raging customers, cozy art and audio. Great game!
:( don't take it too hard on yourself man, jams don't always turn out well and it's totally fine to tap out. Hope you take a good break and come back stronger!
Rage inducing game, it is quite a compelling game, but after so many tries I had to give up! It may just be a tad too much on the difficult side, but otherwise the gameplay is almost perfect. Yeah alternate controls would really help!
Gameplay was smooth and juicy, nice simple fun. It's a cool take on the theme!
Nice remix on the tower defence genre! The game plays pretty well. I think it would help if the initial attack had auto shoot, and the towers were a bit easier to summon (3 or 4 directions instead of 5). Pretty good overall.
