really awesome game! spent hours playing this :)
addictive but really hard! the graphics/musics/sounds are well done and the game play is simple and solid. Good job :)
interesting style, was really hard to wrap my brain around at first but pretty fun after the initial learning curve
this is amazing! I was skeptical at first but once I tried it I realized how cool this is. Definitely my favorite entry conceptually so far. I think you are on to something great here :)
nice little game, it's surprising how you managed to add a fun twist to a single button game. At first I thought the orange squares did not have a point, but later a few seemed to provide a bit of misdirection. I felt that the mini-map was completely unnecessary. It's an interesting concept overall... good job!
very nice storytelling and artwork :)
very nice! the music and sounds are good, and the artwork is very appealing. The game mechanics are interesting and it's a bit addicting :)
I like the graphics :)
interesting little game. definitely minimalist :p
I like the movement mechanic
very creative, it's a real mind-bender heh
The good:
amazing job on the artwork, it reminds me of ROTMG!
I like the fireball being at the top off the staff unlike most people.
The boss battle was really fun, it took me a while to beat it
(eventually I landed on a strategy of killing off all the minions so I could focus on the boss alone)
very interesting style
I liked the one corridor with the goblins, it looks at first that there is not enough space to even hit them, but you can hit the one on the top and go around the others. Leaving that bit of extra space made the difference between bad and good design there I feel.
The bad:
pathfinding could have used some more work
the gameplay leading up to the boss was a bit too easy, although I would equate that to the pathfinding.
if you time it just right moving back and forth between areas you can get your player out of view of the camera.
other than it having a simple game mechanic of movin' n' shootin' it didn't really fit the theme.
overall great game though, I had a lot of fun playing it!
nice! brings back good memories of playing Arkanoid on an Apple IIe :P
whacky story :P I like the music and style but the controls could have been more fluid, and because of things like an inconsistent interface I felt the game was greatly lacking in terms of conveyance. One other issue for me was that I wasn't sure if some of the tiles were background tiles or not, which is important in areas where a jump could lead to your death heh
neat, although the control could use a bit of refinement
I love it! A creative take on the theme, awesome music and sound effects, and a nice addicting mini-game feel to it.
Cool and huge thanks for the x86_64 linux build, it's a neat game but it segfaulted on me. Perhaps the build isn't the latest release? I'll have to clone and compile later :)
I think it's neat and the puzzles are very creative, but the mechanics are implemented in an extremely confusing way and the controls are qwerty specific which makes them very strange for us non-qwerty users :p
talk about polish!
One of the best entries I've seen. I'm in love with this game!
@Dining Philosopher I agree that Dark's first move seems to be best spent on (1, 1), however, Light can then reply (1, 5), and the tables are turned. The best response I found for Dark was (5, 2). (Notation being start node to end node, numbered 1-5 from left to right). I'd love to see someone do a deeper analysis of both the game mechanics (I'm not sure how the percentages are calculated for example) and optimal strategy.
Beautiful entry, well done!
Wow, I love this! Really well done :)
I like it! However, there was no sound for me. I'm running Firefox 31.0 on Linux
Solid game, well done!
Funny game! :)
Only complaint is the controls are awkward for me as I don't use qwerty.
Haha, this entry is cute :)
Beautiful, solid, and well voiced!
confusing
This is definitely one of my favourite entries! Awesome job!!!
I also do not understand this entry
quick little game, the gameplay is simplistic and the art style is a bit nostalgic for me of countless old flash games. I feel the strong point of this entry is the music. Good job :)
The more damage you take, the less friction you have - that is why they go really fast or really slow. I was going for a kind of twist on the SSB mechanic where they fly further with more damage. Not sure why you never got a win screen, that might be a bug I never encountered. Note that the little unicode snowmen at the bottom represent lives, you'll have to KO the opponent 4 times to win!
Also a hint to players: I purposely left out what the controls do, but if you play with them you might find that there are more moves you can do than you first think :)
Thanks for playing!
The candy cane symbol represents a guard. I hadn't considered that 100 health and 4 lives was too long, but I think you are probably dead on about that. I didn't have anyone to actually playtest with. I like the idea of only having the ground pound. A fast paced fighter of that style would be very interesting. If I continue this game I might scrap the friction % system and rethink attacks with that feedback in mind. Thank you for playing!
Sounds like you found everything to me! run (normal movement) forward, run back, dash forward, dash back, jump, down smash, and guard. Thank you for playing and leaving feedback! :)
Thank you, it was absolutely awesome to actually see people playing it!
Thanks everyone who has played! I appreciate all the feedback!
The graphics are stunning, this is sick. Wish it was longer but that is understandable considering the time constraints
wow, talk about polish!
wow, this is an impressive entry!
cute little game, challenging. wish the way bricks were placed was a bit different
Was way too easy to win but this is a solid entry otherwise
How did you make this in 48 hours ._.
updated the source and linux downloads to include bugfixes and more tuned difficulty, the linux download now includes the libs, but it is up to you to edit your linker search path to include the working directory - otherwise I recommend installing the libs with your distro's package manager.
I plan on having a win32-x86 release ASAP.
Could use a lose condition
I'm amazed at how many people made games about trump lol
Funny, doesn't really fit the theme other than as a political statement I guess.
very confusing to me; a lot of mental over-head for someone just jumping into it for the first time, and that's made worse by the fact that there was no in-game instruction/tutorial. Otherwise, good job
Funny, just wish it had music/sfx haha
I love the artwork
awesome art, solid music, fits the theme well, and funny! good job :)
if only finding a date were that easy ;.; 2real4me
beautiful, but needs a direction so to speak. Currently the gameplay is rather lacking
This would be a fun game to speed run
Love it!
I love you
