Protocol Droids Get No Respect by recursor 2011-05-17T01:49:00
I found it pretty easy to dodge the green robots. Just don't stop moving and press X when they get near.

I found it pretty easy to dodge the green robots. Just don't stop moving and press X when they get near.
I like how you get a different item every level, and the variety of levels is great. It was really fun all the way through.
I really enjoyed this game, but I had to play it several times because I kept dying >_>. The gameplay reminded me of the games Solstice and Equinox, which I like. The ending was sad :(
It felt like I was jumping over hurdles, but it wasn't bad. Graphics are nice.
This game is amazing.
The voice for the dying patient was creepy. When I was playing, an enemy pushed me up over a wall and I fell off the level, and had to restart the game. :(
Pretty fun, although it was a little annoying having to wait for those disappearing blocks to reappear. Maybe make it so the blocks reappear whenever you die, so you don't have to wait.
Pretty good. Seems pretty Touhou-ish, especially with the point items. The sound it makes when you shoot, and that you had to tap Z instead just holding it, got a bit annoying after a while. Every once in a while I would get some lag where the controls became unresponsive for a second, which can be deadly in a game like this. Also don't see how this relates to the theme.
It's a cool game idea, but it's just too random. I got an un-winnable dungeon because there wasn't enough reachable keys to open the doors.
I made another version which should fix the graphics if you get those lines. Tell me if it works (You can press F4 for full-screen if the screen is too small.)
@mpc174: There are some areas where you must control both characters at the same time, so the Lost Vikings style switching wouldn't really work.
@Hamumu: I didn't have time to make any music, you must of heard something else ^_^
The ending startled me a little, wasn't expecting that to happen. >_>
It was a bit difficult jumping on shrapnel and waterdrops a few pixels big, but not too difficult.
Great game, although very frustrating in some parts. Would've been nice to have some sound. I managed to beat it with 11/12 secret coins and 213 deaths :D
Great game. However, the vertical resolution was more than my browser could see, so I had to keep scrolling up and down to see the whole game.
Fun but kind of difficult little game. I don't know if this was intended, but the moneybags you can pick them up and jump at the same time. It felt like I skipped some parts by doing this.
I finished it with 75 deaths :p
It's hard, but it's a good kind of difficulty I think. It just requires very precise movements.
It was really hard to figure out where I was, maybe some kind of map would help? I ended getting way too lost and going in circles, then somehow I got my respawn point stuck in water and I was repeatedly dying. :(
Also sometimes the text was hard to read because the colour blended in with the green planets.
Although overall I think it was pretty good.
This game is pretty interesting. The graphics were really simple, but they worked well. The audio was great at setting the mood.
Looks great, but it doesn't run on my laptop(Windows xp) :(
It's a city full of wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men!
Amazing music, graphics and gameplay. Although it seems the theme has nothing to do with the actual game. The music doesn't seem to loop properly and the way death way handled wasn't very smooth.
Fun game. I liked the lighting effects, where if you go on the other side of the planet it becomes night.
Interesting concept. Level 4 was very challenging compared to the rest. It's a shame you couldn't make more levels.
Music and graphics were pretty cool. I'm not a fan of the auto-magic system. Seems like it'll be easier and more fun if I could just press a button to use magic. The range of all the spells were really short, making dodging enemies difficult.
I thought the theme was "Tiny World", not "Broken Physics" :p
It was pretty hard to control, but sometimes it was fun to just see yourself zooming around randomly.
It was pretty difficult to get used to the controls. Strange how you don't let me use the arrow keys, and the jump/pickup/drop buttons were weird. The rest of the game was pretty good. Also there's a glitch where the toilet disappears if you try to pick up something else, I had to replay the game :)
I had to do a little research on the Game of Life to understand what was even happening in this game. You didn't mention the mouse controls of clicking and dragging to see the whole tutorial. It was pretty good and the graphics were nice, although the view was very small and scrolling around to see everything was annoying.
Great game! Simple yet challenging. I managed to make it to the end.
Ha ha, I was running around for a while before I figured out what to do. Silly game :)
I just now noticed what Imanok means.
Good game. It was a little hard to predict how far my arrows would fly, and they move a bit slow even when fully charged.
I liked the ASCII graphics. As for the gameplay, it was hard to figure what I was doing exactly.
It was very difficult starting from the second level. I'm usually not good at block-sliding puzzles, but I somehow made it to the end. The game was barely related to the theme, but it was fun.
I spent a minute trying to select the "Instructions" option by pressing every key before realizing it didn't work :p
It's bit hard to figure out what to do. I can kill enemies by running into them, but at some point my strength goes down and it becomes impossible to kill things.
Great game! It was fun exploring the world, with some good humor in there too. The song at the start was great.
It was fun, but nothing really special about it. I didn't like that you couldn't move diagonally.
Amazing visuals and audio! The second time I played through, I managed to complete the game without killing a single thing (for a challenge, I guess?), but at the end it still said I has killed 1 cute thing and 1 evil thing :/
Unfortunately the game doesn't seem to run on my computer. It just shows a message saying "has occured that caused raptor to stop. notify Max Crane + Ben Foden + Scott Ashford abut this."
I played the windows version and there was a bug were my character was a white square the whole time. It was hard to see any differences of the mutations, other then the "See in the dark" thing.
I think I got to the end, but it was just a white screen.
Simple but fun. The physics were a little weird, like if you jump and hit the side of a wall you'll just start falling, and your speed would never decrease while you're in the air. Also would have been nice if there were more checkpoints.
I like the graphics and I really want to like this game, but the way the screen scrolls and the shaking makes it incredibly difficult to see where I'm going.
Nice game. Graphics and Audio were nicely done. Having to use Space instead of W to jump was a bit awkward for me and took awhile to get used to. The sword mechanic was fun, but sometimes my sword was inside an enemy and it wasn't getting hurt, and I couldn't figure out why.
The graphics and music were really good. The game's concept is unique, but I kept wishing I could just destroy my towers instead of waiting.
Why are you so good? :p
There's one thing I didn't like about the game, how the subs would continue to float around even when you're not controlling it. This made it very scary near the end laser area.
Really fun game. I didn't think it was too hard, the difficulty was perfect. I liked how killing the enemies relied on careful timing, instead of just mashing the shoot button.
Fun game! It feels like the opponent is cheating and changing his move after I attack, but maybe I just have a slow reaction time.
Pretty graphics and fun use of theme. Restarting the second level if you fall in the lava was a bit frustrating, I feel like that level should have been split into two levels.
Unfortunately, in level 3 I got stuck in a place I couldn't die, so I had to restart from the beginning of the game.
I spent a long time on the first level with the hostage. I kept killing everyone but the level wouldn't end. I thought the game was broken or I missed some hidden guy, it was not obvious to me that it was a hostage, but maybe I'm just dumb.
This game is pretty similar to my entry :)
Really fun. The lack of checkpoints was pretty annoying sometimes. I think I spent an hour looking for the second ending :) https://db.tt/JQpzSWn0
Great music and graphics, and pretty difficult. The enemies are so mean. They just suddenly fall out of the sky and shoot you without giving you any time to react.
Nice graphics, simple gameplay. I had no problems with the controls.
Getting hit seemed to have very little consequences. You get stunned for a second, but barely matters. It started getting a bit repetitive as there's only two types of enemies, and they weren't very threatening.
I really had fun playing this. Graphics and music were good and fit together well. I like how "Moon" became a healer in the final battle.
Pretty fun and good use of theme.
I thought the movement was a bit weird. There's acceleration but no deceleration, you just stop instantly.
Overall a very good game. Hitting enemies was difficult, so I avoided the enemies instead of killing them whenever possible.
A problem I had with the windows version: If you hold X while standing still, the charge meter gets all glitchy and you can't throw unless you press a direction. I tried the flash version but it didn't have this problem.
Very nice! It would be a lot better if I didn't have to walk to the boss every time I die. I was disappointed that there was no 4th boss, but then I realized what the 4th titan was (I think?).
It's interesting to have a platformer where you can't jump normally.
Is it possible to beat the "But there is still hope" level, or is that the end?
Pretty good, the only problem I had is with the platforming sections. The jump over the lava in stage 3 was pretty difficult, even with the shoes. The Fire+ powerup seemed to make my attacks worse, since it lowered my firing frequency.
I don't know what Hack 'n' Slash is, so no, it wasn't an inspiration.
For the console controls: I thought it would be annoying to have to press the button repeatedly to scroll down the variable list, so I intentionally made it so you could just hold the button down, but apparently no one likes that. I guess I made it too sensitive.
I love the animations and music. The player character seemed to move a bit too slow, and mining for coins is not the most exciting thing, but I enjoyed it. I had fun figuring out how to get everything.
Good work! It was pretty fun and I can't really see any flaws. The theme interpretation might be a bit iffy, though.
Interesting concept, I just wish it was longer.
Very nice graphics, it's like looking at a mini-Minish Cap :p
I would have liked to be able to stab some enemies with my sword.
It's a shame you couldn't finish it in time, I would like to see it when's it's done.
That was interesting.
Pretty fun game with good music! My high score is 162.
Pretty cool idea.
Unfortunately, I had some problems. At the part were you have to hit the four switches with the boomerang, the boomerang kept passing through the switches without activating some of them, and eventually it wasn't letting me use the boomerang anymore. (The game was pretty laggy for me, so it may be related to that.)
About the bomb puzzles: I like the idea, but it's a little "hand-holdy" the way you've done it here.
It's not really a puzzle if you show the player exactly where to place the bombs, by using the green tiles.
It looks like you spent too much time on the graphics and not enough on the rest of the game. :p
The zoomed-in circle around the player actually makes it more difficult to see what's around you, I feel like it would be better without it.
Very fun, although the game ran a bit slow for me.
I didn't like how you would get stuck to the walls while sliding down them, and had to jump to get off.
The music is awesome.
Fun and simple.
I spent way too long staring at the snowman's nose on the title screen.
Catching a snowball near the right edge of the screen was a bit difficult, especially when my mouse cursor accidentally leaves the game window so the left-click stops working, but that's mostly my fault I guess.
Got a score of 111 on Survival :)
Fun game with nice and clear graphics, you even managed to fit 2 bosses in.
It seems you can fall through blocks if your vertical speed gets too high? It happened to me a few times in the middle-rightmost room.
The missiles seemed like they would be useful on bosses, but they were all already dead by the time I got my first missile.
It feels like some of the monsters have way too much health, but it became more tolerable once I made a bunch of Spreaders.
The theme could have been used a bit better. Sure, the character has a screen for a head, but doesn't really affect the game at all.
Maybe you could add some invisible monsters that are only visible on the players head or something like that? Something which makes use of the players head-screen.
Good idea, not really my type of game though.
I found it hard to get used to the fact that the enemies do not get switched along with the tiles. I kept switching onto a tile with an enemy hoping the cleared tile would kill it, but I was the one who died instead.
Nice graphics and some weird/good music.
Being unable to kill enemies makes it pretty difficult to get by them if there's bunch on one platform.
Also there is a lack of checkpoints, but you already knew that. :)
I did it! I found all the endings on my own! Amazing game.
The 0-9 number puzzle stumped me for awhile, because I thought it was related to the letters on a telephone.
Awfully fun!
Switching between items was a bit cumbersome, especially during the boss battle where you need to it do it fairly quickly, but I did like the different items.
Mr.Fish's walking animation made me laugh for some reason.
Fun game and nice graphics.
The enemies shots are a bit hard to dodge unless you're constantly moving, and I didn't like having to wait for the spinny disks to point in the right direction.
Graphics, audio, and mood are all wonderful. The gameplay itself is a bit simple, and it's easy miss one little wall you have to go through and not know where to go, but was overall very enjoyable.
Fun game, although I would have liked the health pickups to be a little more common.
I love the triple flamethrower :)
The game seemed to freeze whenever I died, so I had to refresh the page to retry.
