Links dont work

lingmops 2011-05-02 14:04

I enjoyed the creepiness. I'd give you full marks on atmosphere if there was an atmosphere category :) When you get a choice of doors early on, does picking one make a difference at all?

quickfingers 2011-05-02 15:19

loved it!

rolf 2011-05-02 15:49

This game has a wonderful feel to it.

telluse 2011-05-02 20:00

Holy carp, man :P
I was taken completely aback by the graphical style of this thing, and the first time I used the object I nearly fell off my chair - had the perfect timing of a horror twist :)

ladron 2011-05-02 22:31

Good job! The blocky 3D visuals are a great style, and the lighting is well done. I always find 3rd person relative steering controls difficulty, but it worked pretty well. I think you have a great platform for doing adventure games - it kind of reminds me of Little Big Adventure.

k_wright 2011-05-03 05:20

The hellish baby whine is super creepy!

Congrats on finishing LD48!

jojo_2nd 2011-05-03 14:21

The style and sound to this are awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing an episode one ;)

randomnine 2011-05-03 22:39

Interesting take on the theme. Felt very polished.

legacycrono 2011-05-04 04:57

Really good, I like it! Reminds me of Twinsen's Odyssey for some reason. Good job!

recursor 2011-05-04 17:14

Very nice. A strong all around entry with a good amount of polish.

tusongtupa 2011-05-05 03:18

That is no way to hold a child?! :)

airwaffle 2011-05-05 17:10

Very cool atmosphere indeed. Could maybe be fun to have some more variety in the gameplay area though, since all you did was going around lifting cubes and pushing buttons.

Awesome cutscene and setup though!

matthias_zarzecki 2011-05-05 18:55

Another unity-game,sweet.

Nice game.It feels very "complete". Also bonus on the atmossphere. It is truly one of the most uncomfortable ones I ever played in. The voices sell it :-)

knighty 2011-05-05 21:08

The voice for the dying patient was creepy. When I was playing, an enemy pushed me up over a wall and I fell off the level, and had to restart the game. :(

jsmars 2011-05-05 23:39

Graphic style and mood is really great and eerie. Story was really interesting, could have had some more dialog maybe to set the scene even better. Could have been some more interesting puzzles though, the current puzzle is a bit repeated so that it almost feels slow.

jonbro 2011-05-06 09:22

awesome sound and graphics. Like dang, the talking patient... so good. I felt like the premise was a bit stretched thin over the number of levels present, and would like to see how you would approach adding depth.

yrael 2011-05-06 18:14

Class A game. Great job !

winterblood 2011-05-06 21:10

Very, very polished! Got a little repetitive towards the end and the sawbots didn't seem to hurt me, but damn fine work overall.

eli 2011-05-08 16:04

Extreme creepiness!! Good job on all graphical aspects. It had a great look and feel to it. Audio got a bit grating but excellent work on getting all those widely disparate sounds working together.

kevlarx 2011-05-09 03:31

Beautiful visual style! Impressive amount of content for a LD game.
Sound was rather maddening though (I would prefer the suggestion of an alarm instead of an actual, alarm. The sound is rather alarming!)

Over all pretty cool entry!

PS (TakeThisTriangle now has a windows port :P http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-20/?action=rate&uid=1129 )

bmfs 2011-05-09 13:47

I agree with LegacyCrono,
for some reason reminds me of Twinsen's Odyssey.

tehalynn 2011-05-09 22:49

Cool look! The saw bots bothered me enough to make me stop playing though. :-(

strd6 2011-05-10 17:58

I really wanted to give this one a try, but because it uses Unity I couldn't run on Linux :(. I'm looking forward to when they finally get a Linux player.

endurion 2011-05-13 07:22

Really good one. Very good atmosphere. Would love to see this more fleshed out, the cubes-on-button thing wears out pretty fast.

mwest 2011-05-14 20:23

Awesome entry, very atmospheric and well polished - well done!

Only negative I've got is that I got the impression (possibly incorrectly) that I couldn't die / fail, which stole from the tension a bit...

fredericrp 2011-05-22 07:27

One of the most polished game, a different way to present games (sounds..) that makes the difference from others, really good work !

the-jack 2011-05-22 22:33

Thank you everyone who took the time to watch the playthrough or get some hands on with the game, and rate and/or comment! I really appreciate it.

Completely agree with all the feedback, it's all fair and I'm glad that no one had a really terrible experience with it. Apologies for the links not working for the first little bit, but my net provider's a bit dodgy.

@Lingmops In this version the doors all lead to the same place, but the framework is coded for them to go anywhere.

@mwest You can die, I didn't have much time to tune difficulty levels so it's set to 'easy'. Expect a stronger range of challenges in the next version.

An improved and expanded version of this has become the main project for Dark Acre, and I hope you'll all come round and give it a go when it's ready for release.

Thanks again for all the kind words and support, and I hope you all had as great an experience with your own projects. Keep building!

Excelsior!
