War on Infection by tareco
It would be great if you could implement AI. Also some graphics more than letter would help :-). Anyways it's a good game.

It would be great if you could implement AI. Also some graphics more than letter would help :-). Anyways it's a good game.
Unfortunately the game crashes when I hit a enemy with a rocket, so when I try level 3 it's insane :-) So my scores are based on the first tree levels and the game looks great, especially the music and the sound effects.
I like the idea of different modes for differents situations. The music also is very good.
It's sad you didn't have time to finish it. Even if there's no gameplay I like the music.
It would be better if it have more difficulty, I stopped to show them at level 10 and until level 17 I didn't lose... :-)
A way to lose and win would improve the gameplay and fun. The blue cubes doesn't seems the dodge the red cubes more in further levels althought the number of red cubes is descending...
I understood the theme as "something that spreads" not only "something that infects" so I scored low in theme. Also I don't thing it's complete as it lacks score and lives that would give the game more fun. I was able to compile and run it under Linux though.
Wow, a RTS in a LD48 competition, but it's a little dificult to control units (Yes, I know I only need a mouse button, but when I say to them to attack a virus they only go were de virus were at that time and not seeking it and attacking it as I expected). The music also is good.
Great game as always, but maybe one thing that would improve gameplay is to difficult movements when a barrel is in the tractor beam. Anyways excellent graphics and sounds.
I like this games although it's a bit difficult. It would be great with difficulty levels.
it was hard to me understand what to do :-) but even when I understood it was (and still is) difficult to kill pathogens. Proteins marks don't follow pathogens making things harder and sometimes pathogens are all time in screen when scroll don't stop. I don't know if it's intentional but I thought it was some kind of bug.
Good music although a bit repetitive. The game starts fine but I was unable to pass level 7, yet! :-)
Sometimes the helicopter doesn't respond well at keys, but it might be a library problem I don't know, but sometimes makes it harder to control :-)
Although this game is _somewhat_ similar to mine your is _far_ better than mine :-) So I like it a lot and you implemented something I forgot: CPU AI levels... very nice and polished game.
Nice game but you should use transparent regions in your sprites. Sometimes "infectrons" are so close that it's impossible to change them back to cells and thats fustrates me. Also I found that when I die even though the leves says "1" it seems to be in the level I was when I died (it's what seems, maybe not what really happens).
It's just infecting regular and binary files until the hidden system file appears or I've misunderstood something? Besides that I think that graphics are neat and simple but effective. I didn't get a lot of fun with it, maybe more aggressive antivirus would help? (I've run it under Linux).
I don't see how this game is related to infection theme. Besides I don't like this kind of game. I liked the music though.
The sound is a little odd as was as the game :-) but it's as valid as any other. A "condom count" would help to know when it's time to seek for another...
As you said it's incompleted but it could be a nice game :-)
I had problems with Java Web Start, so at first I thought it was broken, but then I could play it(In Window only though). I think that models need more detail (they seem only a silouette not a chicken, or it's only my video card?). Anyways the game is good but I thinks it needs more game play.
The AI players does nothing so in big maps it is longer to finish but it's not more difficult. Couldn't test mutiplayer options though, but I think that LAN or Internet multiplayer would be good.
Heh, Dr. Mario and Sokoban in the same game, great! Sometime the items move a little when they are aleary placed (as if they weren't in the correct position over the tile and move to a valid position). The sound and visual effect when the "line" dissapears is really good!
Tutorial levels aren't common in Ludum Dare competition, that gives points in completeness. Other than that I got bored of the sound 'cause all the time is the same, but good anyways.
You should have placed a winner or loser state, not only kill them all and get a 0 points score :-) Anyways is a good game.
It took some plays to understand what where hapening ;-) but after that I enjoyed it. Maybe a little message when you dead or pass level would be good (Yes, I saw the message at the top but after a while...). The only thing I didn't like is the huge files you need to download to be able to play it...
Very entertaining music and I really like the comments at the bottom :-)
I like it but it's really hard when I've arrived at the latest rooms :-)
It's hard to tell what's happening just looking at screen. Also I noticed that AI is not very strong as I was able to beat it every time (once I understood what to do) without even have to "spread" (i.e., just changing A N S P attributes).
As you said as a comment in your code it's WIP but I hope you don't get demotivated by score. I wish see you next competition!
Hey, I like the unusual protagonist :-) although I found it a regular platform-like game, but that's not wrong at all. The only thing is that the game caused a kernel panic just before leave O_O
I couldn't understand the game. The graphics are neat though but the the redraw can be seen. You shouln't quit if there's no sound, because the computer I'm testing it doesn't have sound card :P, but I like the music.
At first this game doesn't look as what is. It's really great!!! Really, even in the first seems simple it got me "addicted". Only doors doesn't open when restarting again, but who needs to restart ;-)
I think you use a larger screen resolution than me, because when I tried to run your game I had to switch to a bigger one. Apart from that, and like you say in your readme, is a incomplete, the only thing I could do is get all antigens follow me :-)
At first I thought that this game was broken because the screen was all white. But doing ALT+TAB for a little time I saw something and I could play but with the middle of the screen "pink". So this is not fun playing that way. The idea seems good but I think it needs some polishing to be great.
For me, this is snake with nice backgrounds and music.
Heh great game! I really enjoy this one more than a similar one... I like how you managed the levels (I scored only a "Whoa!" in Sick level, damn I'm so slow!) especially the Childish level where someone can get used to the game (although I still wanting to use the recent vaccines, I just never think about them). PD: This game is easily ported to Linux, in fact I did nothing but compile it :-)
The "bep" sound every time you moves is a little annoying... It seems that I don't know how to play it because I always lose.
I bit difficult to control but that makes it fun :-)
Great mechanic!
Weird indeed!
Not very deep, but I liked it nonetheless.
That was very very repetitive and at the end very boring... I got to 700 rooms and I didn't find the exit :'(
Um, not much "escape" but "avoid" the colors, it seems. Had trouble adapting to moving by clicking.
That retro graphics were cute. I spend the first level wondering what I had to do, until I escaped on the 2nd level. I've seen other entries with the same idea ;-)
I don't have an iPad, so I can't test nor rate it.
The sound effects were good. The gameplay a bit dull and I didn't feel like I was escaping, though.
I suck at this battle system. The game is good though. However, I am of the same opinion as Shigor that this should be in the "jam" category. So I rated it a bit lower.
Nice concept.
Unplayable due to bugs in physics and controls. Try to polish it a bit further and I would be a lot more enjoyable.
I can't test this game. Game Maker doesn't work inside a virtual machine and I don't have a real Windows box :'(
It is quite boring. Also, I got stuck between the tiles and I had to restart the game.
I echo others' comments that the gameplay is very lacking. The idea is good and somewhat funny :-)
Arg, I also hit the bug with the blue key. It is a shame (I actually screamed "NOO!!") because the game was fun up until that point.
Wow. It is a very simple game yet I couldn't stop until I got the the next morning. Very well done!
I was stupidly waiting for the start screen to clear out, pressing any key I could think of. Until I found out that I had to hit "escape". You should add this to the readme.
It was fun, although I suck as this game. The towers felt to have some kind of annoying range: sometimes they could hit an alien, but they couldn't hit an alien that was seemingly in the same range.
Can't win the boss :'(
Nice idea, though. Somehow, the green/red items remained me of TDD :-D
I don't have an iOS device therefore I can't test this game :'(
It is a great game.
I know you said this is a prototype, but for a Jam entry I would expect a more than this. Unfortunately, I have to rate this entry very low.
I hope next LD you have the time for a playable game based on this experience. Keep on trying!!
The music was rather annoying. The idea was good.
Short and funny!
Interesting idea. I hope you find time to make a complete game.
The music is great and so are the graphics. The dying animations are a nice touch, but I saw them too many times as the controls could be improved a little more. Overall, very good game.
I love it!
Odd. At first I had to do nothing to escape, the ball would fall off due to gravity. In the cases I had to do anything, it was way harder than it looked :-)
The music is awesome! And so is the general idea.
It was very sort indeed. Too short. Please, make more levels :-)
Very funny
The vocal sounds are awesome as is the art style.
Very nice platformer, although I also was a little confused by the start screen :-)
I reached the end(?), but the second level was very frustrating. Although I love the music and the 2.5D view, the collision detection is very, very off. Every time I though the ghost wouldn't touch me at all, I just died. I even died midair when I was way over the ghost and it couldn't possibly touch me in any way. I guess the collision is grid based. So much blood everywhere... and the scream. That scream... oh, boy!
I rated this high, though, because I liked the atmosphere.
The visual effects are very pretty.
I found this one very hard
I probably don't get what you mean with the game's story. I got two endings in which I got caught by the "snow", but in one ended up sad in a couch and in the other I saw a field. What should I understand from them?
Since I can't understand the meaning, I feel that there is not much gameplay value in your entry. The player's movement are well done.
Colliding with the walls stops you, which isn't very funny. You should "slide" instead. Besides this, nothing more to complain :-)
I can't play it under Linux. It shows the window but shortly afterwards it crashes with the following traceback:

Fun and clever game and that use of "escape" is genius. Well done!
The textures look weird on my computer. The little guys sometimes look like shaking rocks instead. I couldn't get past long as I died very soon always :'(
On the first level, there are a part where you can't jump high enough to leave the pit. I guess you used the sprite's rect as collision detection, because there was a lot of times that I lost but there was a clear gap between the player and the girl. And, sometimes, the sound got somewhat annoying, but I guess this is what would be on the real world :-)
However, having said that, I liked this game. As the others pointed out, I though this was a platform pac-man in a very humorous set up. Well done!
The music and graphics are good. The gameplay, though, is very repetitive and gets boring too soon.
If you didn't made the music, that game wouldn't be that much fun as it is now. It is surprisingly addictive, even more than snake. I still couldn't take a cab, though....
I finished it and I really, really loved it. One of this LD48 entries.
The only nuisance I found is that I can't skip the text. I didn't really know what to do to pick up the fire (it was obvious but somehow I thought I needed some object or something) So I had to speak again and again with the hell demon.
The humor and references in the dialogues are also a very nice touch.
I also took a look to your source. I find it amazing that you had the time to write the SCUMM-like system and managed to produce such assets.
It's a tower defense, not much else to say. It miss a "send the next wave already" button.
I don't quite understand the landing rules, I guess it has something to do with the tide, because some I had different results just from the beginning.
I had fun with this entry and the music was very fitting, which helped a lot to keep trying. Also, jumping looks really cool :-)
The camera movement doesn't allow me to enjoy this game is I ought to. The graphics are cure, though, but I am afraid that without music is lacking some entertainment.
The graphics are a little weird but well done. However, the gameplay is a little dull...
The text is rendered in a way that is unreadable in my computer.
I played three times without having to go near the red dots, so I just kept my eye on the minimap and move to the green dot; not very challenging. It is a shame, because the chase thing could spice up the game a lot.
Unfortunately, it seems I don't have a Direct3D device that supports the "HiDef" profile :'(
Umph, some jumps are very frustrating... I also got bored in some rooms that I had to jump back and forth for keys. Some atmospheric music would help.
Very innovative.
The visual style is great, although if you managed to make me dizzy with the sinusoidal floor, you cloud make the sheep's movements a little more smooth :-)
I guess that the game has background music, because I see errors on console regarding MP3 issues, but I can hear a sound when grabbing an energy pill. I'll leave that rate as N/A.
The gameplay is really fun and I found it original, however the levels should restart with all the bombs otherwise one could end up stuck (as I did...)
I will overlook the graphics because this is a jam entry, but the game feels pointless as everyone gives you money every time and I didn't do anything at all until, all of a sudden, I got "filthy rich".
I had some difficulty with the controls. I had to keep checking which key moved to where. I guess this is the perspective view...
Nonetheless, I did have a lot of fun!
I can't test it because I use 32bit OS X and the binary you've built is x86_64 only.
I got stuck in a wall and couldn't continue. Three times... Other than that, a good game.
Well done, but bullet hell kind of games aren't my cup of tea.
At first I was also somewhat confused by the controls. Specially when I fell and the game didn't restart. Using the wings is difficult because I don't know when they are going to worn off.
The music was very fitting.
It seems I don't have a "HiDef" video card, so I can't play this game. Sorry.
It says my video card doesn't support WebGL (Chrome)
Sometimes the collision gets me stuck...
Unfortunately, I don't have a video card that supports the "HiDef" profile :'(
It says my computer doesn't support framebuffer and can't play.
I am interested on the effects the different colored spheres have on the actual gameplay. If you ever finish the game, please let us know.
Wouldn't start. The console says:
"libpng warning: Malformed iTXt chunk
Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I don't like the controls at all, but that might be because I loathe "virtual joysticks". I had no trouble finishing this game, as there is no game play at all.
However, I want to tell you that I like that you've made an Android game in 48h.
It fells too slow to be running away :-)
Not bad.
I can't play with "HiDef" profile :'(
Oops, disregard my previous comment; wrong tab. This game is good, but too hard for me.
Can't play it because I don't have a "hidef" card.
I am also of the opinion that calling this a "game" is too far-stretched. However, I liked the story and it was very well written. It would be even better with different background musics, as it was a bit too repetitive. The background images were simple but had a good effect.
I have the same problem as GigaClon on Windows XP. At first, the game refused to even run and Windows was telling me I had not enough virtual memory, until I set its size to ~1GiB (I run Windows in a virtual machine with 768MiB of RAM).
Once the game run, it showed a white screen during a brief moment and then crashed with the following output on the console:
"An unhandled exception occurred at $64D5A21E :
EAccessViolation : Access violation
$64D5A21E"
I've tried to move the folder to a path without spaces, with the same result.
I also tried to run the Linux version, but it seems that it uses libpng14 *and* libpng12. I only have libpng14 installed on my system, so I couldn't test on neither platform.
Sorry.
Can't run it, can't rate it :'(
Not very interesting, actually. The field is too big and I got bored long before I could find the "choppa". The tutorial had some attempt to humor that I didn't find particularly amusing...
It fits the theme very well, though.
I couldn't beat any of boss :'(
Very unbalanced. Once you have enough to buy even one tower, the game is over. The tower it is either too powerful or too cheap.
Other than that, I liked the idea, although remained me too much of tower defense.
Nice. I particularly like how you can shoot down the knives.
Sometimes I had the idea to let them burning. They were too annoying...
Nice idea, though.
I just moved things randomly and they worked, still don't know why... Also, you must do your own assets in a 48h competition entry, so........
It needs more commands. As for now, you only have to relay, scan, connect and unlock. If there were more variety of controls, it would make a much better game.
I wish I could move the blocks more than a single position at the time. It seems that it uses the keyboard repetition time to move the ball or something because I can see an annoying pause between the first ball's movement and the subsequent.
The idea is nice.
Can't test it, as you used SFML2 that most GNU/Linux distributions don't have yet, I don't want to compile it by hand, and you failed to provide the binaries yourself (also, next time don't link to debug libraries when releasing anything, please.)
It is somewhat frustrating. Having to tap the key to move is not very nice, and I died in a lot of silly ways because the traps kept on killing me as well.
Game Maker doesn't run in a virtual machine and it's unfortunate, because I like your visual style.
I was got frustrated on the player gliding, but managed to end it anyway.
I can't play with "HiDef" profile :'(
I too only could give you community points because I don't own a iOS device.
Very interesting idea although it was a tad too slow for my tastes. The last level is a marvel of game balancing :-)
The music is completely awesome! As is the whole game. I deeply enjoyed this one.
It has potential. I liked the music.
I got stuck in a black window... The graphics seem to come straight from RPG Maker.
I love the music! The visuals are great as well, and I really liked the way she(?) moved around the trees instead of just stopping. Very well done.
The only times I managed to deliver was by sheer luck alone :-D
My biggest complain for this game is that I had to download a ~22MiB library just to play some “beeps”… I guess that you just got what you've used to, but please, next time think of these that don't have unlimited bandwidth ;-)
Can't test it because I only own a i386 OS X installation and this is for x86_64 :'(
I like the idea behind this although it seemed to relay on luck instead of strategy. The music wasn't an excellent piece, but didn't annoy me at all and probably would miss it if wasn't there.
Can't understand how to play, really. Moving the mouse doesn't change a thing and ijkl sometimes doesn't work.
The music was setted the proper mood, but was a little repetitive. Getting stuck on walls was also somewhat frustrating sometimes...
It's a shame the game is unfinished. As is it now, I just placed the mines and waited until I reached 10,000 ore. I had no idea that I could move the planet until I read the comments.
I just learned that I suck at swordfighting!! I hope to never need that skill… Well done game! :-)
Played until the end, but I want more! However, it would be very nice of you if the tiles were 2x or something. I don't have a very nice sight...
You should mark somehow these doors that I can't go through. And that pit coming back from the key of greed is just evil! Nice game though, my real boredom meter didn't raise while playing.
It froze when I went down the blades on the first level... Also, too hard for my taste. The music is catchy!
All I see is a black screen with the upper-right corner painted white... Pressing any key does nothing at all.
My main concern is that I can't seem to avoid the bullets at all. Are the enemies using "curved bullets" like in Wanted??
The atmosphere is definitively there. Beautiful! It is a shame the lack of gameplay. Please, make a post-compo extended version!
Not very playable, really. I just got to the second level and I couldn't pass the turret; it is too hard.
Like SusanTheCat, I only get a black screen. I am on GNU/Linux.
The graphics are great and the setting wonderful. I like the "boss run" :-D
I don't have a "HiDef" compatible video card. It is really necessary??
I can't play it because it says I don't have a device compatible with "HiDef" profile.
It is very short and easy on normal. However, sometimes the controls got on my way and it was difficult to pass through narrow spaces. The music was perfect.
At first I didn't know that the life rings just moved people around. I though that just touching them was enough.
Also, the shark movements are so unpredictable that is very hard to save anyone. When I think someone might be safe, a shark just moves to that lane and "noms noms"
The art, both graphics and music, is fantastic. It is a shame that the story is (understandably) so short...
It does nothing at all for me. I see all the guys but none is moving and I can't control the warden.
I didn't know how to play...
The player moves too slow to be enjoyable... I love the music!
Can't run it; the same problem triplefox and Edsploration have.
Hellishly hard but good :-)
Wasn't very hard to find out what to do, but it was fun nonetheless. Congrats!
Although I like the idea, your implementation isn't very polished nor fun. I had problems with wallazoos getting stuck in walls and I didn't know how much time was left before the direction switch, which was somewhat frustrating.
The music was OK.
I escaped! I had fun with this. I liked a lot the visual style and the music was very fitting as were the sound effects. Well done.
Can't connect to website and so I am unable to rate this game :'(
Not very deep gameplay; all I had to do is keep pressing W to move forward. I was expecting some kind of hazard, and I was disappointed.
I like that retro vector graphics and the general idea is OK. The implementation, in my opinion, isn't very polished as more often than not I disappeared from screen.
I reached the moon! The most difficult part is the space with the almost unpredictable UFO's movements, however it wasn't much different.
The game play is solid and the art is cute.
You should add more elements. As it is now, is very repetitive.
At first I didn't know what to do. Then I just got to 42 seconds...
Very "clean" graphics and the music fits very well.
I just can't remember what each key does, even if the icon is highlighted; once I am confronted with an obstacle, I just watch my keyboard, the icons, and then I no longer need to key anymore… :-)
I was about the pass on this due the black scream until I saw the comments. I suggest you that in the future, if you can't make a feature, just remove it. I wouldn't mind jumping straight to the tutorial.
I am sorry, but I am not going to install Mono for GNU/Linux just to play a game… Such a shame, because it looks nice on screenshots :-)
I like how it shows the power-ups scattered throughout the level before starting. The lava looks more like fire to me.
I haven't played Oregon Trail, so I can't say whether the gameplay close follows its idea, but I didn't like the lack of interactivity. All I had to do is press space again and again and hope that I did a good choice at the beginning when buying supplies.
The idea sound good, but apparently it is not for me.
Too hard for me and jumps feel off as the player tends to slide off the tiny blocks. Add some checkpoints! The music was pretty well done and the minimalist graphics are cute.
I had just 1 second to spare, and I had to move mostly in diagonal because he moved (or at least seemed to move) faster. Also, stopping me dead on *any* collision to the walls is not nice, because sometimes I just hit the corner and I lost some precious time.
Nicely done.
This game looks very polished and the music and sound fit very well in the general atmosphere. However, I would like to control the blocks a little more. I prefer to win by skill and by luck.
I must echo the others' comments about the slowness of the player. I also found that the energy starts to waste down just by pressing shift without actually running around. The guards also detected my sound just pressing shift.
I thought that the graphics and the music were well done.
Great concept, indeed. I echo the comment that this game needs some instructions on the first level, as I was there staring and moving blocks waiting for Bubba to move himself or something :-)
I couldn't run the game. It shows the main screen one or two seconds, and then closes itself without any error message.
The no sound version has the same problem for me :'(
Probably I didn't unsdertand the game. I just had to press jump all the time to avoid the obstables and accumulate points. The A, D, and S keys didn't make a difference to me.
Its kind of entertaining, however without a real goal (I guess there is not exit, as I went far without any in sight) it seems unfinished.
Also, some of the monsters are placed withing the buildings, and even if they were awakened, they couldn't move at all because of the collision system.
When starting the game I see a message that says: "Unexpected error occured[sic] when running the game" and then it quits. I am on Windows 7. Any clues?
Not much of a game, even if the graphics are so pretty. The car's physics are completely wrong and doesn't feel like a car at all...
Hope you've learned the lesson and next LD don't waste time watching others ;-)
More "avoid" the dots than escape, but nonetheless I had fun trying :-D
Unfortunately my smart phone (Geeksphone) has a screen too small and I can only see a part of the screen...
Loved the nice retro graphics. However, it is too difficult to play with a touchpad... ;-)
This game is as short as pretty. The music is really atmospheric and I loved the style. I wish you make a longer post-competition version.
Simple but clever puzzles. I missed some music and sounds.
Although the idea is good, albeit not original, I felt that the game was very hard on controlling the ship. I got bored pretty soon.
The footprints concept is good as it is the game as a whole. I had to re-try the 3rd level just once, but I also didn't like the way it needs to be solved....
It is a disappointingly short game, but the sound effects approach is nicely done. SLICE, SLICE!
That was a hard game and fun too. I also agree with the others that I can't see a strong relation between your entry and the theme. However, I think that the levels are very well designed. The music and sound effects were OK. Very well done!
I concur, the sirents are annoying. I managed to get to the state line on the first try. It wasn't particularly hard and I felt that everything went a little too slow.
It was more entertaining that I appeared on first sight! I really enjoyed this one. However, I was unable to find what to do in the room with the skeleton, just after open the second door. I also tried to move down from the door but on the right most corner and then I ended up stuck in a wall and had to quit and lost all progress :'(
The music was well done and proper.
The graphics and the music are awesome. That I die so easily is not. I couldn't go past the second level.
I join the others that say that it needs a bit of polishing in the level design department. Also, I fail to get the connection with the escape theme here; it looks more like a gold digger :-)
I couldn't start the game in Windows. I could see the press start text and then the game always quit without any error message in neither stdout.txt or stderr.txt. I had to compile the game in Linux and there it worked without problems.
Gameplay wise, it is very, very hard. That's is what it makes this game interesting, actually :-)
As others, I also think that it takes some time to get used to the controls. But once you get the hang of it, isn't so bad. The worse I could find is that is is a little too loosely tied to the theme and that at the corners the ship is almost impossible to controll. The graphics are well done and the sound effects good enough.
I was barely able to past the first level. I got very frustrated on the second and left the game. Maybe once you have the hang of the controls it gets better, but I couldn't understand them at all.
The graphics are astounding the music is cool. However, on the second level there was no music at all. I guess it is a bug.
Polished, but hard to control ship. I ended more often than not in the portal.
It is too short!! The visuals are great; just add some coloring and music and you've got a very nice adventure :-)
I agree that the gameplay lacks some variety and is somewhat boring, but the idea is sound. The intro music is awesome!
:-D
I didn't understand a thing from this game... However, it was kind of fun :-)
I echo other's comments and say that this is simply amazing!
Got stuck more than once in enemies.
I don't have access to an OS X and can't rate this game.
I hated the first level that I had to wait for the text to appear. It contrasted a lot with the player's fast movements. I didn't understand what purpose the motivation serves.
Too bad I can't play this one :'(
I also agree. Looks nice, but isn't very deep.
The controls are very slopping to the point of making the game unplayable, specially on later levels.
Can't understand how to play. It says "HIDE" but I don't seem to be able to do so. Weird.
I concur with the rest: most levels were unplayable. I also couldn't see the rules hitting F6, it instead created a new level. The collision also was somewhat weird as the player could be left floating in the middle of a block.
Can't run it at all. It shows the following error:
---------------------------
Critical Error
---------------------------
Unhandled exception: eng\graphics\shader.cpp(150): Throw in function void __thiscall eng::graphics::shader::compile_shader(class std::basic_istream<char,struct std::char_traits<char> > &,unsigned int,enum eng::graphics::shader::stages)
Dynamic exception type: class boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<struct eng::graphics::shader::compile_error>
std::exception::what: Unknown exception
[struct eng::graphics::tag_compilation_log *] = Vertex shader was successfully compiled to run on hardware.
Please, add a way to restart the game without the intro. It is a nice intro, but I don't want to see that many times.
Regarding the controls, it is not nice to have to HOLD the mouse button. By the way, at first I didn't know I had to use the mouse and I wondering why the player always aimed at the same direction regardless of where he was moving to.
The graphics, music and sound are well done.
I guess I passed all levels, because after the big one I could see an error telling that I tried to move past the last "room".
Although key puzzle aren't very innovative, I had fun and enjoyed the music. The restarting effect is cool! ^_^
Not really challenging. Sometimes, I could simply rotate and move past the lasers.
Not much to say; try to finish it and I'll play again :-)
I was left with no ammo and the player refused to pick up the single(!) ammo on the level. Then, somehow, the zombies started exploding.
Way too easy to die. The music is good, the graphics not so but still in par with the competition. I was about to skip your game until I saw the comments because I didn't know how to play, you should remember to put all the requirements on your zip for next LD :-)
The intro should be skipable, otherwise I don't feel like playing again as the interest accumulated while playing fades away while waiting for the new round. This is a fun although a little too fast and hard game.
Can't play it properly because the controls are awful to use in a laptop with a trackpad only...
The idea is nice, but I found the implementation a little boring. Probably if you had time to add the other ideas left unimplemented due lack of time, it would be better.
It would be better if the levels were generated or just different between difficulty modes. The still lava killed me a lot of times at first.
A nice game.
Too "spiritual" for me to understand :-) At the same time, too short!
Game maker doesn't run in my virtual machine. Couldn't test the game, sorry.
Well done on finishing a game, even if is just pacman :-)
Done! I had trouble understanding how to read the arrows on the floor, but finally did! :-)
I love point-and-click adventures, and this was no exception. Although I am not used to this first person view, it wasn't very difficult to adapt myself. The only complain is that sometimes I got stuck between two objects, but nothing that I couldn't get myself from.
It is a shame you couldn't make sounds nor music. This would add a lot to this already excellent game.
Very well done indeed!
Wow, once I got it! :-D I just got the first three and then when I heard what I had to imitate, just started the laugh like a madman.
I love your music concept.
Great music!
It was confusing for me :'(
Simple game but very cute!
Can't run the game in the virtual machine (it says the video card is not compatible) and I don't have a real Windows XP. Sorry, can't rate it.
Finally, AL #1. I didn't read the bit about the space key to land and I was failing all the time. Finally understood that the key were the combo keys. However, as fun as the game is, I believe the link with the alone theme is too weak. Being #1 has nothing to do, in my opinion, in being alone; Actually, you can only be #1 if there is more people, right? ;-)
The voice was very well done, although it was hard for me to understand the computerized voice. I wish it was more a game than it is now, though. I hope you find time to complete it as it is very intriguing as it is now.
Don't have a Mac and VirtualBox is too slow to play games, sorry...
I don't have ruby; I can't play.
It is a good idea, but too complicated for me, really.
Nice little adventure and loved the retro graphics. However, I felt a “creepy” mood rather than "alone". I wish it had music; then it would be excellent!
I loved the art in general but the ghost transformation in particular. I felt like the game was a little too short.
It lacks variety, in my opinion. Other than that, excellent game. I always end up stranded on some distant planet with no crew members :'(
It is short, but good. Very good.
No turd eating, got it! :-D
Throwing cans is a bit off, I believe; sometimes they are thrown wherever I pointed to, but sometimes it falls short. The biggest problem, I think, is that I can't move at all and the moms are most of the time behind the TV which I can't throw the cans through, so I lose concentration and can't do anything about it. I rated high in humor :-)
I didn't find the controls to be that bad. The death sound was very disturbing, in an awesome way! :-D
I join the chorus about the level checkpoint, given this is a puzzle game more than anything. The title transition was cool the first time, but got tiresome each time I had to wait for it to appear and the disappear to start over. The music was somewhat repetitive, but didn't annoy me much. The sound effects were OK.
I can't select the different blocks because I use a laptop with a trackpad that has no middle button not scroll wheel.
It was hard but short. I can't see the theme anywhere in this entry though.
Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to play the game with, but nevertheless I could try imagine how it would be and I think it seems like fun. I miss some sound effects, though.
I was unable to understand how to play it at all. Cool concept and original idea, but too hard for me.
The graphics and the music are awesome. The game is a bit hard, though. Without checkpoints I have to repeat the same level too many times and gets boring too soon.
The sound effects were really cute ^_^
The pseudo-3D thing is cool, but the rotation is way off. The world is too huge to be fun, however the music is perfect for this game.
It is somewhat aimless, but playable, indeed. However, I don't know how it follows the theme at all. The graphics and the sound effects are more than OK, though.
All I see on my computer is a grey window and I can barely see something behind which resembles a laberinth or something, but I can't see where I can go. The music and the sound effects give a great atmosphere, though.
The idea is quite interesting, but I don't have the time nor the patience to wait so long to make a move, although I understand why you are doing it. Also, I do not want to register to yet another website.
As such, I am not in a position to rate your entry, sorry.
I downloaded the emulator just to play this game. Awesome!! We need a "technical" section just for guys like you :-)
It is not very deep gameplay-wise, but I found the graphics cute!
The graphics and the simulation are very well done. The sound effects are also very good, but I am pretty sure that freesound.org is out of limits in the compo.
At first I didn't know what to do because the window is bigger than my screen and I couldn't see the controls below; I was clicking everything I could see without any effect. After a short while I think that I got the hang of it and headed towards the lighthouse. Didn't have the patience to reach it, though.
The mood and the graphics are very good. However, it is a bit lacking in game play and not that fun having to walk around. I really hated having to jump to climb stairs. The cage's effect when going down was also somewhat odd given that the player seemed to jump all the time.
I didn't understand how to control the game until, by chance, I touched the green block and then all made sense. Unfortunately, the game is very hard to win and the way the player slides when the robot moves left or right doesn't make things any easier. It is very innovative, though.
It is fun, but the light should trail the mouse not be the cursor. Then I believe it should even be better.
The Jam link is broken for me and the Flash 10 can't open the latest build on Windows 7; I receive errors like: "VerifyError: Error #1014: Can't find class mx.core::BitmapAsset."
I can't test it because I don't have anyone to play with, sorry.
Mac OS X version only shows a white screen for me and can't continue.
I had a very hard time learning how to block, but it was fun nonetheless.
I can't play the game on Windows 7, and I do have XNA4 installed. I can see in the task manager that the application starts, but shortly after it quits without any error message or log file that I can use to track the error.
Can't test it without a build, sorry.
Nice. Shame it is too short and not very challenging. But fun, nonetheless.
The monsters where an interesting addition, but as far as I know were just cosmetic and didn't do anything. The music didn't bring the correct mood for my taste.
The "web" link says "missing plug-in" for me (Chrome; Windows 7 32-bit) and the direct link to the SWF doesn't show anything. Can't play it :'(
Wouldn't start on GNU/Linux x86_64. I've tried the 32 and 64-bit versions and with the 64-bit all I got was a black screen; 32-bit version didn't do anything at all.
This game fails to set the "alone" mood for me. It looks like a somewhat psychedelic platform game. I also didn't understand that the floor was actually lava in the second level, so I was wandering how should I move the blocks (they say "move!") if every time I start over again...
I can only comment based on what I've seen in the video, and to me it seems to be a very well polished and somewhat original game (it seems to be like a reverse canabalt or something like that.) From the video, I can't see the use of the alone theme, though.
The GNU/Linux build misses the libGLEW library.
Sometimes when I pressed the space key too soon, the level "generator" made the walls too tall and the level ended being very short, making the game even more easy than it is already (even at difficulty 9.)
It is a tad boring, as every level is exactly the same, and the sound effects a bit annoying. The concept and the mood are great.
The concept is original, but it is currently too easy to be engaging. When I punch the shadows, I would also like to see something else than just them disappearing, 'cause I didn't know whether it was a glitch or I did something at the beginning :-)
It is weird and I could't solve some of the puzzles.
Decent roguelike. I was confused by the notes scattered through all the levels, as I tried to read them but couldn't find how. At first, I didn't see the lateral doors and went ahead until the last room without a zombie encounter… The enemies are a little harder than they should, I think, but fun nonetheless.
Couldn't run it on OS/X. This is the error I got:
dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/Lua.framework/Versions/A/Lua

I am running 32-bit version of OS X 10.6:
Darwin 10.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.6.0: Wed Nov 10 18:13:17 PST 2010; root:xnu-1504.9.26~3/RELEASE_I386 i386
In GNU/Linux 64-bit I get the following error message:
./The Last Leech: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.3/32/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by ./The Last Leech)
The game is fun, although not very original. I have to rate you very down on graphics because this is a 48-hour compo entry and you are supposed to make all the assets yourself within the 48-hours, but these graphics are from the Oryx tileset.
Good concept, but I had a hard time remembering the instructions when the game actually started. And those pesky kids... Get off my lawn! :-D It is a shame there is no sound (in the compo entry)
I don't know what to do, frankly. I just keep writing "things" in one of the rooms. I also don't see how this is related to the alone theme at all. I liked the music, though.
Next time, please release a standalone project; I don't want to download löve2D just for your game. Thanks a lot.
Great humor, but short game.
I didn't know how to use the phone and I ended up being stupid... I had fun with this game!
I concur with others that the game is too short. And I did better by looking at the graphics rather than the console; couldn't understand the the "answer" :-) Both the graphics and the music was well done.
Not much to say, a psychedelic whale on space! :-) I wish I had more to do than eat galaxies…
It didn't have very hard puzzles, but were fine. The only thing that managed to bother me was the spinning turret thing when the robot manages to turn it do destroy the fire barrels.
The mood is good here and I could feel alone, but if it had a background music I am sure it would improve a lot.
Nicely done.
My poor W key… what did it to you?! Now seriously, I got bored of so much key hitting and gave up. Interesting idea, but not for me.
I love the contrast of the grey scale world and the bright redness of the flowers. The game as a whole has a great mood and atmosphere, but unfortunately is a bit short.
The kitty walks way to slow for me to keep interest on the game. The music is well done and fits the game. Giving you low, low points on community because you didn't post the code and this should disqualify you from the competition (however messy the code is, you should publish it).
I also receive the "Could not find the main class: Snowfall. Program will exit." error message and can't play.
The game was too hard and the controls didn't help a bit: I just wanted to rotate *while* moving forward but instead I have to stop any time I want to turn, which means less time. The theme is also unfortunately missing from the game.
I didn't download the game because the file hosting keeps asking for my e-mail address. This, and the fact that the game must be installed, gives you a very low rank on community.
Also, using memes is an automatic 1 start in humor from me and I am very tempted to give the same rating in innovation, but I'd rather play the game first.
I don't know what to do, frankly. I can place the radars and such, but I can't seem to be able to bring the planes down. Also It is impossible to quit the game, it seems, without using the Task Manager...
Although the game feels unbalanced, it is very well done and polished. The different "oh" and "ah" sounds that each kid makes feels somewhat authentic. Very well done!
Found the flashlight, the old lady and the man in the wheelchair and than gave up. The mood was excellent, but I kept getting lost... I am not sure about the keypad, but when I clicked the position where the "open door" icon should be I was allowed to pass anyway. Bug or imagination of mine?
The enemies respawn too fast and at the most unfortunate time for me; I always take a hit even if I kill the enemy just for that. The theme is also somewhat lacking (I feel that you are implying that the player is alone in volcanox and so, but I can't *feel* that in the game.) It is a fine platform game.
Although the game is interesting and fairly well made, the connection with the theme is *very* weak; almost non-existent.
Fun. But giving you low points on community for making me download Löve2D engine for OS/X.
Very clever, indeed!
I agree with others: the graphics are great, but the gameplay gets dull after a short while. If there was some kind of music or sound effects, I think the mood would be vastly improved in this game. Nice work.
It seems that the site is down and I can't play the game.
The idea is great, unfortunately I don't think it really works because I don't have direct control on what key I have to press and I an at the hands of luck, which is not so funny. The graphics are good as is the music, but sometimes it is a little annoying.
Not much of a game, but the mood was spot on.
Very nice graphics! The theme is somewhat lacking for me, though; have a "lonely" in the title or name of the planet is not enough in my book. Sorry.
Um, I was able to cross walls and the guard never saw me at all... Windows 7 32-bit here.
The raycasting effect is pretty well done. I wish the player would move faster; I never reach to the batteries on time and was unable to find *any* exit.
As other have said, the fact that you allow the player to move pixel by pixel but making grid-based collisions is a little frustrating. I think it is best to move the player until it reaches the center of the cell and then check for the keys or something. The sound effects sound more like noise than anything else on my computer.
Anyway, I like your take on the theme and the game as whole. Very well done.
I don't own an iPhone nor an iPad, so I won't be able to rate this game. Sorry.
Reached the ceiling! However, I was fustrated. The game is slow on my computer, probably due the fact that you are loaded and converting the PNG files each time something must be rendered; this is slow! The controls were also somewhat frustrating and I didn't know how to move property to an adjacent block. Moreover, sometimes I has "pucking out" a block, but the squid wasn't a a proper position, I lost the block without actually putting it anywhere, which made the game slower still. The theme is spot on.
The ending song was awesome! :-D
The art was beautifully done and the rock mechanic is clever. Too bad gameplay-wise the game doesn't shine much; it is fairly linear and not too challenging.
I tried to look at the gameplay video, but I can't stand game videos made by someone that loves to hear his own voice that much.
I loved the logo :-)
However, I suspect I can't complete the game at all as it doesn't recognize my full home row (end key of the right part I have "ñ", which the game doesn't recognize at all). What a shame...
The concept is very interesting, but I have a hard time to place the correct time under pressure; the controls are not as untuitive as I would like to.
The concept is good, but kind of boring to me. I also got a game over at the second screen and couldn't do anything else.
I agree with everyone that the puzzles are not puzzles at all as I don't have enough information to make a decision; I have to try all the "?" blocks to know where they move me. Wish it had music or even sound effects. However, the biggest fault in this game is the lack to link with the theme; I can't see it even knowing the the first character is alone...
Although I like the game, the alone theme part is a bit an stretch. The sound effects are OK and it is not too difficult. Well done.
I wish there were more variety in enemies, as others have said. And now, thanks to you, I have this tune stuck in my head!! :-D Fun game.
Very funny!
I had some difficutly in understanding how to cast the ord and had to play quite some time to grasp the game. The guitar soundtrack is awesome and the graphics impressive. Congrats!
Loved the pixel art; not so much your take on dates (Ana O_o'), but OK. The music was OK.
I got impressed at the sudden change of perspective when going out the ship. It was very well done and loved the music and the reactor's sound effects. Great job!
Nice concept, but there should be a way to reset the puzzle to the beginning. For instance, I died in the key room after using the eagle in a way the the "darkness" was on the other side of the door, which means that I couldn't find a way to use the koala and the cat without dying. The music is cool! :-D
The player walks too slow for my taste. The game is OK-ish, but is is a regular platforms game; the "alone" theme is somewhat missing in it.
Also, for next time, please release a standalone binary in all platforms; why is that most Löve2D developers assume we like to download the love2d binary?
It crashes on my Windows 7 32-bit: in the task manager I can see the application starting and using quite some amount of RAM, but then I get an crash error message from Windows; other XNA4 games run fine.
I too would like to see the characters as I talk to them. Also, unfortunately, the mini-game wasn't showing on my computer at all; all I could see is a black screen until it said that I killed 0 monsters.
The music and the graphics were well done, but it seems that game is not my kind of game, as I got bored after 13 days and I couldn't seem to notice any difference between any of them :'(
It is a platform game; not much to say. I miss some background music to give the proper mood to the game.
First time it would show the first screen but didn't do anything. Then I got killed by a tree without warning. The third time I got stuck at the same tree once I dodged it and lost interest in the game. I like the idea and the music, but it is too buggy for me.
For me the Window links is also broken (Windows 7 32-bit). I can download the .7z file, but 7-zip manager then tells me it can't open the file. I tried to download the game three times, but each time the file size is different(??)
I could download and extract the source code, but then I didn't know what the pde extension is for.
Landing is way too difficult for me; I was able to do it just once.
Why do I have a timer? The mazes are too huge to be able to find the exit with the given time. Also, I was at first confused on the preview screen as it changed the level each time I pressed any key; you should add a label telling me that I have to wait the 10 seconds or something. I am also surprised on the quality difference between the graphics: the player is so detailed, but the walls are so bland. Did you made the player or are you using pre-made assets?
Absolutely awesome. It was being in the mind of an insane person. Very well done. However, as you said, it is a bit unbalanced.
It is somewhat unbalanced. Most of the time the game presents no challenge at all, but on other part it is too hard. The visual presentation is awesome.
The dash and the zoom in / zoom out are pretty clever ideas.
Although the original concept sounds good, this implementation doesn't make it justice. The platforms are located in such a way that every time I try to jump I hit my head, making it harder that it should, in my opinion. Also, I tried to use the letters on the enemies, but there was no visible effect. It is also rather difficult to see the theme in this game.
It gives me 404 not found error; Can't rate it.
Nice game and nice controls. The sound effects where well done too. I had fun with this game.
The fuck with the starting sound! I had to open three pages to be able to start and then I was ear-raped. Anyway, I don't think a multiplayer game is a very wise choice for a LD48 entry and I couldn't really enjoy the game playing by myself, which is kind of ironic given the theme.
The background music is OK, in my opinion, as it is the graphics. The bullets were too slow to be useful and I had a hard time knowing when to shoot. I felt very weird that the silos (?) were destroyed when the UFO's were no longer visible; I guess I expected them to fire me instead of spontaneous explosions :-)
That ball, so jumpy…… :-) But I guess this is what makes it so funny!
Awesome music! I had a hard time reading the text on that background and still couldn't complete the game, but I love it! Well done.
Very creative take on the theme and very well done as well. As I am not a native English speaker sometimes I had problems finding out words, but I could manage most of the time.
13 days for me!
I really like the 'olala' sounds :-)
Yes, not too imaginative.
It was confusing at first seeing how I couldn't do anything but wait. Then, once I saw that the shield bounced the bullets back I understood what to do, but couldn't see any life label anywhere and the bullets didn't kill me. When everyone started shooting at me then I died. In my opinion, the interface lack some way to tell the player the remaining health and when the shield would be ready again (and even when it will fade off, because of the glowing it is very hard to know when to dodge the bullets.)
Everything else was good and the idea is great.
A bit too simplistic maybe. I got caught two times spying "my girlfriend"… I gave you high community points for being one of the few Löve2D developers that understand that I have no desire whatsoever to download the frigging engine!
It needs works, indeed, but not completely awful, I'd say. However, kittens and lava do not mix well, you mad man!
The controls are a little hard to remember as they are not very intuitive and buggy. I have a hard time to climb up some platforms even though I press the Z + up combo; I have to try two or three times. The puzzle are rather easy and they don't take much time.
I agree with others: I couldn't feel alone in this game, but it is entertaining anyway.
I don't have OS X Lion, so I can't rate this game. It looks cool, though.
That zombie thing scared me! :-D
The first part of the game was a little annoying; having to look for things in a dark room isn't especially funny. But then it turned out OK. I actually laughed out loud when I saw the zombie outside.
Interesting concept, but hard to grasp at first. Sometimes, though, I felt that I didn't touch any of the other shapes but I was changed anyway. Maybe I just passed too close to another?
It is a hard game.
"meme humor" is an oxymoron. It was somewhat boring and didn't know where to go. I also could see seams between the rows of tiles.
There are too many zombies for me to kill and I gave up. The art style is... unique? Sometimes I had some difficulty in seeing the zombies in such an environment. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling the "mood" of being alone with so many zombies swarming the place.
Great take on the theme, indeed! I wish I could skip the introduction, as it is as long as the game itself! With some scratching sounds and a meow or two, this would be a good mini-game.
The game is cool, but very easy, at least for the 2 days and half I was killing three zombies at once when they lined properly ;-)
The introductory text should be skipable; it is too slow. On my computer the player moves weird: when I change directions is move regular one or two seconds, but then it starts to move in jerks and slowly which makes the game unenjoyable. The music is good, but gets old after a while.
Quite frankly, it is just a simple platform. The link to the theme is weak and the jumping is a bit off sometimes. However, I like the way I can throw the goals (although made me a little nervous because I didn't know if I could lose them, which is the point I imagine) and the music is very good and fit perfectly the theme you've chosen for the game.
I've rated overall a little low because this is a Jam entry and this game looks more a 48-hour entry rather than a Jam, and since you have 72-hours extra I don't think it would be fair to rate you too high. Nevertheless, well done and keep on it!
It is a platform game, not much else to say. However, you must include the source code, project files, or whatever we can use to learn and/or modify this game to qualify as a LD48 entry. I am rating you low on community because of the lack of source.
It is a nice game, but it fails to convey the "alone" mood to me; it is more a regular platform game than anything else.
The puzzle is a bit too hard for me to grasp. I was able to find a "connection" and then the I got a red ball I could move, but fell off and the game hanged or something; I couldn't do anything else. Tried to start again and then the cube with the connections moved itself and wouldn't allow me to try to establish connections. The intro is cool, but I wish I could skip it when playing again as it is a tad long. I rated high in innovation, but low in fun because I didn't have much fun with it. Sorry.
I can't play this game as I don't own an iOS device. Sorry.
It looks like a canabalt-like game; funny, but not that innovative. Also, the cat when one lose doesn't fit at all and looks stupid, frankly. The music is OK but it would be better if it looped.
I can't download the JAR file: 404 not found.
Nice first game. I couldn't find any glaring bug. However cool is to shoot your own organs, though, it was rather pointless because the damage and the effect on the enemies was the same as if I touched them directly. Regarding the music, I will believe you made it within the competition's time frame and that you have permission to use it (I don't know whether it is public domain), so it is OK to use it in LD48.
Sorry but can't play the game. I am able to compile the whole thing without a warning, but then trying to run the game from within the “bin” directory exits with a segmentation fault. I debugged the game and it seems that it can't load the fonts from there, so I tried to run the game from the top level directory, but then it did nothing; not even showing a window or any further logging message.
I especially liked the music; it sets the mood perfectly. Jumping around somewhat felt weird, as I expected the player to jump higher perhaps. Also, it falls too slow and I feel that I have to wait too long for her to die (and it happened a lot to me…)
I couldn't play past the 4th level showing me an error message that it couldn't find the Sun.png file. I downloaded the "Unix-like" option. Moreover, the glow file doesn't have the "#!/usr/bin/env python" and as it starts with an import statement, at first it tried to call ImageMagick's import command on my system :-)
I finally got all the part and got back to the ship, just to die immediately on the second level... I was getting disoriented in the first level all the time, and couldn't find the batteries again and I always died just a oxygen level away from the ship. The atmosphere in this part was good; can't really say much about the second level.
Those legs! :-) It worked fine on OS X 10.6.
Yes, after level 3 or so the games becomes completely unplayable due to difficulty.
I don't know if I am too use to “The Binding of Isaac” or what, but somehow I was trying to move with WASD while shooting with the arrow keys. Although the theme fits in the game, I don't feel the “alone mood” with so many robots around trying so hard to kill me! It was a good little action game.
I don't see the connection between "sadface" and the alone theme. *Maybe* it is sad because it is alone? But this plays not part on the game. For me this game is very hard to manage the little people, select them, and move them around while avoiding "sadface". The acknowledge voices were well made.
It wasn't very challenging until the boss, which is too hard compared to the rest of the enemies. I can't seem to see the alone theme here besides that the player is the only human, is that what you were after? The music and the sound effects are OK.
Can't download it: 404 not found.
Wow. I was going to complain about the lack of sound in the first level, but the play on sounds and music you did in the 2nd and 3rd levels is beautiful. Really, really well done. Somehow the almost completely darkness of the 2nd level made me feel the mood of loneliness and despair. At first I was all lost, then I noticed how I could follow the music and manage to find my way. I suspect I was able to do so because I have an habit of using headphones; I am not sure if I would be able to find the music sources with regular speakers.
I hope you find the time to finish this game. With some polish (I concur the the player needs more speed) this could be very good.
It would look better if the player had some simple animations. I got to the beginning again, but then I gave up as I saw the it just keeps repeating.
I have to rate you down on community just because of the upload site you've chosen; I don't like these kind of ads...
I receive the following error on a Windows 32-bit:
Unable to create texture: Resources/Hero.bmp
SDL error: glTexImage2D(): GL_INVALID_ENUM
It is an innovative idea, but it is too easy to get lost for me even with headphones. Maybe the area is too big.
Interesting, but somewhat buggy. For instance, I got stuck in a water tile once and sometimes I couldn't move either up or down even though there was no visible obstacle.
At first I thought that I heard this song before somewhere, but then I recalled that I toyed with GreaseMonkey's autotracker too. The control instructions on the web page are wrong and I was unable to do anything until I read the instructions here. Once I knew how to use the jetpack, the game then was not only doable but kind of easy for me. Nevertheless, it was well done.
I love the graphics and the environment. The only two complains I have with this game, besides the lack of audios, is the path finding and the fact that the torch doesn't allow me to see doors. I could see the interior or a room and I wouldn't know whether I could enter or not. I "solved" the puzzles, but quite honestly I don't know how; I just pressed buttons until it did something.
Not going to download 150MiB just for this game, sorry.
I can't run it on GNU/Linux 64-bit due to a problem with SFML (I have only 64-bit versions of SFML). Try to include the 32-bit libraries with the binnary or release a 64-bit version please.
My window manager for GNU/Linux seems to have a problem with all Java games and can't play your entry (I can't press any key…) I'll try later with a Windows box if I can't find one.
Managed to get a Windows box (the Web version neither doesn't work for me in Linux, but this is again due to my environment.)
The first time I didn't read the instructions and wasn't sure what to do :-P Then, I tried to kill as many ghosts as I could, but ended always being the "worst ghostbuster"... It is, perhaps, a little too hard for me, but fun nevertheless. It could use some background music to spice up things a little. Not too original, though, but it fits the theme.
Nicely done.
Impressive work! I was going to put emphasis on the music, which is awesome, but then I see that it is computer generated. So, it is good, but no cookies for you :-D
The music delivers the good mood for this game, but as some else stated it is too easy if you just run avoiding the "evil boxes" (that can be beaten even if I don't have the sunglasses on; not sure if intended)
I too had a hard time understanding what to do. It is very well done, but lacks something to be a enjoyable game.
Not the most interesting game and the lack of sound and music don't make me feel alone at all. However, congratulations on your first game. Now you can only get better and better from here :-)
Very clever mechanics and the graphics style is so clean. Sometimes I have a hard time with the controls, but that is me being limited than anything else :-)
I concur with joekinley: it is very hard to play this game in a laptop/notebook; the controls aren't very well thought for them. Thus I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes of play. Sorry.
My window manager for GNU/Window can't seem to handle input into Java applications, so I am unable to rate your game at the moment. I'll try to find a Windows box to try it. Sorry.
It is well done and fits the theme completely, but it is too simple for me.
The particle effects were good and the ruined buildings gave the sense of alone, but the game lacks some deep and is pretty boring after a short while.
Very simple gameplay and kind of frustrating that I can't win; it gets really insane when the other ships speed up! The graphics are OK.
Never wished for people to get out of my way so much as in this game! And I usually I don't really like people…
Nice idea and good art style. I got very fustrated when entering panic mode and can't really control the player.
Astonishing! The visuals and especially the music are perfect for this theme. I wish I knew what to do before starting and wouldn't spend so much time exploring the beautiful environment. I event climbed up on top of the pyramid to see the whole island from there. I wish the player was a little faster that it is now, though. And it lacks in gameplay even knowing what to do.
I don't have GtkGLExt installed on my computer and I don't have access to a Windows box right now. I'll try it later when I can find one :-)
It lacks in game play a lot, but still it manages to be fun somehow!
I frankly don't understand what I am supposed to do. All can see are the dots/boxes that represent the feelings and the sanity. I move around the white box and then... things happen.
The idea and the gameplay are well thought, but doesn't fit the alone theme in my opinion. At least, I couldn't see it.
Yes, mouse sensitivity and lack of lock made the game harder than already is. Having to reload is a nice touch, but I get swarmed too easily.
The theme falls a little show in this game, but interesting nonetheless. It was a bit hard for me thought. The enemies looked a bit like dragons :-)
You are missing the libjpeg.so.62 library in the 64-bit GNU/Linux package.
It is a nice idea, but I didn't have much fun with it.
I wasn't able to kill these speedy monsters that get so close. The graphics are OK, but I think the music is not what I was expecting. Even a shoot sfx would be nice, as at first I didn't know whether as was shooting or not.
I missed Vi-like keys to move around, being a rouge-like. I can't say it doesn't follow the theme, as the hero is al alone, but I rated low in innovation. Overall I think it is average-good if I take into account that you had to redone the game.
I had a bug scrolling in some of the levels; One of the generated dungeons had a corridor up north at the left-most part. When I moved toward that corridor the scrolled window moved a tile to the left and I couldn't see the "@" until I moved it to the right again.
I had an issue in
It is a bit boring now just wandering around following the howls, but the mood, sound, and visuals are well done.
I fail to see the link with the “alone” theme when there are other people around the maze. People, by the way, that are more of an obstacle than anything else most of the time ¬_¬'
I liked the graphics, but was fun only to a point.
I don't have a Mac and VirtualBox is too slow to play games; can't rate it.
The text thing is too annoying. It doesn't matter whether I touch a portal or is any of the bosses that do, but the game stops dead there and I am forced to press enter again and again. Besides that, being able to infinitely jump is cool! :-)
Rouge-like games should have Vi-like key controls! :-D
I liked the mood, but I was too prone to insanity… Good game overall.
I had to change the use of the windll to be able to run it under GNU/Linux; I've just set the screenWidth and screenHeight values by hand.
I had some trouble understanding this game, thought. As it turns out, I had the wrong width and height and then it couldn't show any of the "friends". However, with the correct resolution, even if I enter more than two friends, I only see two of them. The game tell me that I found them all if I move the two I can see around some more.
I also found it too dark outside the light's area which made navigation harder that it should. I got the mechanics without too much experimentation, but better instructions would be great. The puzzles are clever, but somewhat repetitive. Great, great atmosphere.
I like it! However, you shouldn't open my web browser when the game is over; In my case the game wouldn't quit until I closed the browser as well and I was left wondering why a lynx instance was running on the console…
Congratulations on your first game; it is fun!
On Chrome I see a black screen while the music is playing, but I can't do anything else.
I don't have Qt4 installed on my GNU/Linux but and I don't have a Windows computer at the moment. I'll try to rate it later.
For me it also runs too fast (Linux 64-bit, if that matters) to the point that it is either unplayable or either too easy (for some reason if I keep the arrow key pressed the player gets stuck to the wall and then I can jump out any lava pit.)
I am afraid I am not going to be able to rate this game properly. Sorry :'(
Well, not much to say, really. It is very incomplete and not a game. Next time know your tools better (and do the warm up!) and you'll fare much better.
The music worked for this game, but gave me a headache... The controls are also somewhat weird, but maybe is because I am not that used to FPS. Once I've killed all the faces, I ended up in a big room with a black wall and I didn't know what to do after, so I closed. The graphics were well done.
I have to rate you poor on community: not only I had to download a ~100MiB ZIP file that had no top level directory, but then I had to download and install yet *another* toolkit just to have the Cg.dll file, something you should distribute with your game, I think.
I found him! I missed some background music here; the sounds where OK. I wish I could move the blocks faster. I think you did this because you wanted to show that they are big and heavy, but as there are no other blocks in the game it feels like a drag, somehow. The puzzle we OK; not as hard as it could get :-)
The link is for a Mac game even though it says Windows...
It would be cool if you provided GNU/Linux binaries.
I tried to run this on Linux and Android, but I couldn't on neither; Linux complains about missing dependences (both 32 and 64-bit versions) and the Android version seems to start, but then it just closes (Android 2.3). What a shame, because I *really* wanted to play this game… :'(
Unfortunately, I was unable to get the sword; the bats were too fast for me and killed me almost instantaneously. I miss music and sound effects. Also, I would like to have the little "E" appear when I am besides the object I can act upon instead of having to try to move against it.
I was going to complain that it is too short, but seeing as it took you only 10 hours and it is your first game, I won't :-)
I hope next LD you can use the whole competition to make your entry; It will turn out OK, I am sure!
The game mechanics were really clever and well done. The music loop was also great.
The graphics are neat and cute, but the acceleration mechanic really frustrates me!
Microsoft Security Essentials blocks the game telling me it has an exploit; specifically CVE-2009-3867.F
I am not going to rate this game.
I hate that I have to click repeatedly the cursor key to move. Also the game got stuck sometimes when changing levels.
I don't own an iOS device; can't rate. Sorry.
To me the player moves too slow and made me lost interest on the game. The theme also seems the be lacking from this entry or I can't feel it, anyway. Other than that, it is good.
I don't have ruby, so I can't play it. It looks good, though.
I can't play... After waiting for the seemingly eternal presentation to finish, I only saw a "Run" button, a flash, and then it said "Game Over" and started from the beginning.
I get all the time stuck because of the blob's simple path finding algorithm; it seems to move straight to the cursor's position and most of the time I have to guide it on corners and so. The music was good. However, I wasn't unable to find an exit or any goal, so I just kept running until the red blobs (inevitably) got me. I wish I could skip the initial text, as I tend to die too often.
The controls are a bit weird; I surprised myself wanting to move by just pressing the arrow key instead of having to rotate the arrow. I didn't like that sometimes I am forced to take damage or I can't continue; this makes the game harder that necessary. It was funny though.
It is too short; I wish it had way more content than it has currently. I hope you make a post-compo version.
A word: awesome!
The graphics and the music are well done and complement each other perfectly. The game is also well done, but a little too lineal for my taste in point-and-click games and there weren't enough puzzles :-)
I concur with xilefian that some points look a little too immature, but nothing that put me off playing it.
Woo! Maximum score: 0 of 0! It was well done and the theme fits perfectly. Also, it looks a lot like *my* Friday nights...
Good. Very good. It is unfortunate that that download size is so big, because I am sure it puts some players off. Next time try to use compressed audio files or avoid voice over; its quality is not very good.
The game play is solid and well done, although the player moves rather slow for my tastes.
I also wish that I could switch between spells with numbers instead of letters; somehow I am better remembering what 1 2 3 4 means if they are in the same order on the screen.
At first I didn't see that some monsters are immune to some spells; I was attacking the red squared with fire while wondering when they would die! I am not very bright, you see.
The theme is a bit of a stretch, but I guess it is a difficult theme to use effectively.
One other thing: I rated you low in community for the choice of upload site. It tried to trick me download something else entirely unrelated to your game.
I can't play it: can't create framebuffer (main.lua:42) Also, next time try to make a standalone executable; it is so easy in Löve2D...
Yes, the jumping controls are annoying, but the rest is well done. Unfortunately, I got a GameMaker error trying to "blockify" the left-most person from the left and I couldn't continue.
I concur: it is too easy. And that's the only fault I can find :-)
Definitively, the style is very good. The controls are a bit weird and the player is too sensitive; I just tried to move a little further to the right, but I fell off...
I loved the comments people were making ("This is going on YouTube!"), but I got bored of killing so many people. Maybe if the population was at half it would be better.
The text bubble is a nice touch, but sometimes it gets on the way and I can't see where to move. As others have said, the game is tense, although I bit repetitive for me. Nevertheless, well done.
It is unfortunate that I got stuck more than once and I lost interest in starting over again, because the atmosphere is clearly well done and I love these "vocal" sound effects.
Stupid, immature, pointless, and infringes the rules and copyright laws. Sorry, this is not the place to post this kind of shit.
Couldn't play; First it says that the bg3.png files is missing, then the water.png. I also found annoying that I can't skip the introduction screen, especially as I had to run it again and again to add the missing assets :-)
It walks rather slowly for such a big environment. Also, I really didn't know what to do. At first I thought they were zombies or something with the arms in that position, until I realized they wanted a hug or something. But then, I hear the thumb-thumb and they leave *very* disappointed. But I can't do anything, can I?
Well, not much of a game and the controls were buggy. However, the background music with the guitar was pretty well done.
No ruby so I can't test it...
I love how the zombies repeat what I said slightly changed (except for the word "alone"), however I couldn't find any gameplay with it. The mood is great.
Having to change camera so often didn't work for me. Also, I found very irritating the 3D movement when the view is 2D (sometimes I had some difficult to pass through doors) and then, when in first person, I couldn't move at all. This spoiled a little the fun, but I liked the graphic style.
That music is excellent and set the mood perfectly. I second the idea that using the ENTER key would make it easier to play. Also, I got stuck the computer asks me my name again: all I enter returns an error (even kill, but not reset) and I can't continue.
I didn't find anything and I am sure I move to each cell on the board. What is going on?
Both the graphics and the audio are excellent. However, I got stuck at the same place as Shigor and couldn't go further. And not I want to know what happens!! The mood was perfect, perfect!
The link to the theme is, in my opinion, weak. But the worse is the blatant use of copyrighted material. Also, not very fun to "play".
The graphics are very cute! However, the game play becomes repetitive and somewhat dull after a while. The music helps, though :-)
I didn't see the moon on my first play and I had to play again just to see what everyone was talking about. Nicely done!
I found it a little too slow and it completely relied on luck; I didn't have a clue where the objects where. I liked the music.
I wasn't unable to understand how to play it, sorry. I tried to follow the tutorial but no tree could be planted ever! The graphics and the concept are very well done, thought.
7/10 is my best score. The graphics are really great; I love them. The idea is original and well implemented, which makes the game fun.
Impressive graphics and music! To me, the game play is a tad boring and I stopped after 10 minutes or so of kicking robots' ass. The inertia also "feels" wrong in the sense that when I try to run to the opposite direction, it takes the same time to start moving to the order direction than to simply stop. I guess is the whole "legs moving in one direction, body on the opposite" that confuses me (also, I *hate* when I try to move away from the drill robot thing but I still "slide" onto it…)
I still don't understand when I can and when I can't steal an electron, but I had lots of fun anyway! The art and the music are really well done, and the game play is original.
I couldn't start the web version and the first time I tried to run the GNU/Linux version I started up stuck behind a tree…
The second try did work, though, and I was able to play. The first thing that I failed to see is the connection with the theme. Is this because you are confined inside an area and thus a “tiny world”? The gameplay lacks some deep, but I can see this turned out a great survival kind of game with some polishing and music. If only there are a single music, I thing the game, as it is gameplay-wise, would gain a lot.
Nothing to complain regarding the graphics; they fit well.
Really cool music, but the game play got boring as it is always the same. You could add some variety of weapons and better AI for enemies.
Very very cute graphics. My only problems with this game is that when I try to build something it tells me how many rocks I need but not how many I have; I only have the bar which gives me an estimation. My other problem with the game is that is too addictive :-P
Very creative interpretation of the theme! The music is also great and I noticed that each time I had to restart the player was different, which is cool. I had more trouble with the levels where I had to control multiple people, but I think this is a clever idea.
It is incredible the amount of levels that you put into this game and how well balanced they seem. They introduce the game mechanics very smoothly and I enjoyed all of them (although some of them made me scream out of frustration). That water background sound is perfect for this game.
Congrats!
I won at least 3 times, but still don't know how to play. I just leave the bacteria at their own devices, and usually they breed the correct color. Anyway, I liked the idea, but fail to see the connection to the theme here.
I suck at this game! I tried, and tried, and tried, but always failed and only a single world remained! I will assume that it is impossible to win.. ;-)
I wasn't able to kill any of the enemies, so I just avoided them; it is way easier this way.
The only clue I could find that this game is related to "tiny world" is the relative size of everyone against those huge berries. A weak link, I think, but works.
The music sounds a little Zelda-esque :-)
This is unbelievably awesome! Unfortunately, I couldn't reach the end because on my computer the game's resolution is too tall and doesn't fit my screen making some levels impossible to play, forcing me to "guess" where the enemies and the falls are...
I didn't know what to do. The first time I tried to run it, I got to the intro screen but couldn't go to the game and the music kept playing until I uninstalled the game. After installing it again, I could play but didn't understood what I am suppossed to do. Trying to click the +/- buttons on the buildings increased the number by 6 or 7 each time, but I didn't see a difference and I just watched the number of humans go up, but no couples nor children.
I think the music is cool, by the way.
I am not sure what does this game have to do with "tiny world", but it was very clever and fun. The pacing is a bit slow, though. Maybe if the ship could move a little faster it would make things more interesting inside the "pipes". The door opening sound effect was slightly annoying.
OK, I had the hardest time finishing the tutorial, but I did! :-D
The tutorial is hard to follow the first time because it doesn't wait for me to select the unit that it I am supposed the use, and then the next instruction pops up... But, it wasn't until the 4th time or so that I also found out that the warriors could be moved by the other mouse button! I was so frustrated by then that I gave up.
For me, the idea is sound and the graphics are cool. It is the starting difficulty that throw me off. The music is also a little bit irritating and the controls aren't as smooth as they could be, in my opinion. This game fits the theme perfectly.
Quite an original way to interpret the theme. Well done! :-D
I had a very hard time understanding how I could start, and then I didn't really understood what was I supposed to do. Maybe this isn't my kind of games :-)
However, I thought that the AI was cool, despite the fact that it is way more skillful than me, and the graphics look nice.
I guess the connection with the theme is the limited space each player has on the map and that we all have to fight each other for it? I works :-P
It seems that something is wrong with the hosting. I tried to download this game twice and on both cases it lasts a lot and once downloaded I get a CRC error.
The biggest problem in this game are the controls, as other have said. Also, I hate the delay when I am hit. I know it is intentional, but could be a little shorter, I think.
The graphics where well done and was fun.
I enjoyed this one and the tutorial was great. The music was also rather enjoyable.
Um, I got bored pretty fast with this game; it is too repetitive and the random movement of the other zombies doesn't help a little bit at that. I also don't see how this fits in the theme, sorry.
The graphics are cool.
This is good. Very good!
It looks like a simple and boring game, but is quite addictive actually. The music also helps a lot to have the urge to keep playing it. Nicely done!
Like the others, I found the art excellent but the controls a little unforgiving. I am also not particularly found of "text sequences", but I guess this was a trade-off given the development time (I still can't believe you could do that in just 48 hours; this makes the game even more impressive). The level design was very clever and well thought, and I liked that in the lighthouse you've changed a little the mechanics with the barrels, because just jumping still obstacles was becoming a bit repetitive.
All in all, a very nice game.
Can't play this game because I don't have a "HiDef profile" compatible video card.
Great little game; it has everything: action, a bit of strategy, and upgrades!
After a while the game stopped the display and I could see that it received input because the buttons to place towers would switch from on to off depending on what keys I pressed, but the canvas was frozen. I use Firefox, so it might be the cause...
Great walking controls. I suck a lot trying to turn around and I always destroy everything in the vicinity ^_^
A great game. Very polished and innovative. The only bad points I've found in this entry are that the music is a bit annoying after a while and so is controlling Bill sometimes, especially when moving backwards to look for a missing mustache.
Really cute! My only problem with this game is that most of the time I start next to a red cell and "lose an eye". Fortunately I can replenish them, but it doesn't seem fair to me.
When you say that the music is from freesound.org you mean that you got samples there or the whole music? As far as I know, you are not allowed to use pre-made music in the 48-hour compo...
It is too confusing for me, which makes it not very fun to play. The visuals are impressive and the idea is good; it fits the theme well.
I can't play. This is the error I get:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: org.lwjgl.DefaultSysImplementation.getPointerSize()I

I enjoyed the way I have to control the balloon and the turret at the same time, but I didn't understand the connection with the theme.
Hard, hard, HARD! But so fun at the same time :-D. Venus was too much for me, though, but just to listen to the music again I tried and tried ;-)
Re-spawning is kinda confusing because the player does not start at the same position all the time and often you can start over an empty space… Other that that, it is a nice platformer game and I loved the state-changing mechanism.
Very fun and well polished. At first I didn't read this page and went straight to the game and was a little confused what to do except running away, until I decided to press space and I understood; you might want to add the instructions in-game.
It is great and fun, but so damn hard! A single mistake means you have to restart the whole thing... A (limited) undo function would be a very welcome feature ;-)
Truly an innovative game. However, the later levels in which I control all the microbes are impossible for me to figure out. The music provided an excellent atmosphere.
Lots of (frustrating) fun!
It is extremely hard to control the bee. When it collides with the screen's border, then pressing up moves backwards! To confusing to finish even the second level (the first was luck, because I could only do it once.)
It is an interesting concept, but I got bored of doing the same thing again and again after 6 or so levels.
The music is very nice indeed and the game is surprisingly fun despite the simple gameplay, although it lacks strategy somewhat; pushing things around can only take you so far.
That was fun, but unfortunately I don't have anyone to play with and I presume it would be even funnier that way. I guess a simple AI would also be OK :-)
Stretches the theme a bit too far, I think. Also, in a 48-hour competition you are not allowed external assets; this belongs in the jam. Great humor, though.
Pretty fun, but without collisions between the player and the buildings it is far too easy as I only have to move close to the tiny planet and shoot the buildings' base.
I managed to breed 166 bees and still I don't know how... The graphics are sure cute and well done, but the game play is repetitive and boring.
I got the engine, but then everyone fell off the island and I couldn't continue paying. Rotating the island is weird on Android as it moves too fast and I get completely lost... and this is a small island!
I loved the art.
I can't run it because my computer doesn't have a "HiDef" compatible video card. Sorry :'(
It seems a little unfair that it takes like a gazillion shots to kill the enemies but a single touch makes me die. The graphics and the sounds were great, but it didn't take me long for me to get bored.
Great art style.
It is a little too slow for my taste, but the graphics are nicely done and the music is perfect. I didn't understood why I died when jumping on the mud, though.
I don't like when the planet changes color without any apparent reason because when the colored part is small most of the time is under my finger and I think that I need a red meteor but it changed to blue, for instance, and
I didn't see it. Some times it even changes just when I am about to collide with the correct color...
Besides that, I liked the game, but I suck at it with only 523 points as high score.
Your "tiny" world is quite big, huh? I think it is impressive for a game made in just 24 hours. I whish it had some music, though.
Great art :-D
The end was… surprising. But I guess I escaped >_< It liked a lot the graphics and I wish I could hear the music (no Chrome here, but I see that you removed it anyway.) The “combine objects” has definitively a nostalgic feeling for me and it fits the theme very well indeed.
It is too short, but given the time you have, I guess it is expected. ;-)
As awesome as the music is, I don't really think that is appropriate for this game. I also loved the art style and the mechanics.
I can't rate this entry. I receive the following error message:

I usually can't run "HiDef" games. Also, please next time don't bundle an installer; I don't particularly like it.
I don't have an iOS device, so I can't rate this one, unfortunately.
I don't see how this fits the theme, but I am not gonna complain because this game is awesome. I don't know what I did to that cephalopod, but sure it is angry :-)
Brilliant
The controls are too hard for me; I seem unable to move exactly where I want to and makes me look ridiculous circling a health box... I loved the graphics and I wish I could do something like that! ^_^
Great! I've played at least 20 times trying different strategies. However, I feel like I don't have enough time each play...
Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to play this game with, but I would love to. Gave you 5/5 in innovation just because you are awesome! :-D
I laughed on some parts and enjoyed the whole of it. Very well done and an excellent take on the topic.
Excellent puzzle game! The level difficulty wasn't very consistent, with earlier levels being harder than later. The music was very cool and the sound effects cute. The idea is also great, but I can't see the link to the "tiny world" theme.
VERY clever entry. I like the way that these simple rules produce such variety of outcomes.
Ummm :-/ It fits the theme, actually :-D
Very cool!
I wish there were some sort of checkpoints, because I hate having to restart the level from the beginning when I am so close to the exit. And it happened a LOT of times. Other than the difficulty, I enjoyed the game, especially the music which is awesome!
Very simple idea that is effective. I didn't understand what the over planets that from time to time appear do, though.
Great humor, but I didn't enjoy the game that much because there is no strategy in it; just smacking around aliens and that is all. I wish there were more to do.
Interesting mechanic. At first I didn't know whether this was a game or some art-thing (either would be fine with me) because the first levels were so easy that I didn't have to do much. But it got interesting the further I went in :-)
Oh, boy. So many creatures thrown into space....... :-D
That was simply excellent. Congrats.
I also saw the AYIM feel on this one, but I had fun nonetheless.
It was so unexpected! Once you have the hang of it, it is quite easy, but fun nonetheless. Extremely awesome credits song!
Well done! And now I have that tune stuck in my head :-P
It was good, but a little too easy and at the end it was a little boring having to wait for the gold to pile up and send ships to the last planet remaining (especially as I had sent 10 or so ships and I had to wait each time for 30 gold to send a single ship.)
To me, this game looks like a primitive version of galcon (nothing wrong with that), but with an advantage by being the tiny planet among giants. The music was well done.
I can't understand how the tiles rotate, and I tried so many times... the idea is very cool, but I think it is too easy to die.
Once I placed enough turrets as to not bothering shooting the aliens myself, and enough shields to not worry about the turrets, the game turned out to be quite boring with only shitting the odd fireball and spawning people and more people. Until that happened, though, I had a blast with this game. I concur with others that the art style is great.
I'll rate it later when it is properly bundled or I switch back to a Linux machine.
Can't play on Firefox. I extracted all the resources and are in the same folder, but all I see is a black screen.
Fun, fun, fun! :-D I don't seem to respawn automatically when I lose (and I do it a lot of times...)
Also, Chrome gave me a warning that the game could be malware!!
The jump is not that polished and makes the game not fun for me. The background music was well done as are the graphics.
Great game! I echo the UI complains, but I loved the art style and the ambient.
I loved how the rooms were being destroyed when the ships suffered an attack. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to play with, so it was a little weird :-P
It is a bit weird to be told to press tab on Android, and it took me a while to really understand what I was supposed to do, as the instructions came far too early and I even didn't see the rocked and all of a sudden (from my point of view) it was game over.
The idea is nice and once understood I liked this game.
It was a lovely platform game, but I fail to see the connection with the theme.
Um, I felt that I was too directed and I couldn't enjoy this game as I was expecting given the cool graphics that reminded me of the adventure games I used to play :-P
I don't think there is too much text, but some of it is unnecessary. As it is dying by the snake when all other planets are safe; it breaks the expectations the game had up until the moment.
Obviously, the theme fits perfectly although given the relative size of the prince and Earth, one could think that the theme is "giant people" rather than "tiny world" ;-)
Although I like the idea, I am going to rate down in innovation; it is clearly bomberman. This doesn't mean I didn't have fun, though. On the contrary! I spent at least an hour with this game, which is a bit too unforgiving and I hate having to reload the page in order to restart (again and again and again…)
It is a very simple platform. I like the sound effects and the music, and the art is OK, but I hadn't much fun with this game, and I don't usually enjoy this kind of "humor", so I skipped pretty much all the dialogs.
The player moves too fast for me; it was impossible to even finish the first level. Even the music creates a tension of speed, which is good, but made things more complicated for me.
The art style is awesome as it is the guitar background music.
Very funny story :-D
The tutorial lead me to think that this game is too complicated and I couldn't possibly remember all that, but after a couple times playing against the computer (and won!) I didn't feel it was that hard.
The music created a very good atmosphere and I love the idea that I don't really need the computer to play this game at all, provided I make the cards and find someone else to play with.
The player moves too slow in my computer that it makes the whole experience frustrating. I also wish I could rotate the planet so I could see the other faces, otherwise is just a hit-and-miss game; no strategy involved.
I didn't reach the end because I was too bored to continue, frankly. Everything moves too slow and most of the time I have to "play catch-up with the stars" in order to amuse me. Only from time to time I have to dodge a slow-moving object towards me.
The idea is good, but if only the game had a 5x speed-up, it would make it a lot more fun. More so with some fast-beat music!
Very cute graphics. I wish there were some kind of shield or something, otherwise the shooting enemies are too difficult for me.
It lacks something, but I don't really know what. Clicking on farms and waiting for the tribes to evolve became boring too fast and there weren't anything else to do, so even though I love the music and the graphics, I stopped playing without finishing when I reached the point where I had to raise the tribes' level to 8. Too repetitive.
The only things I can complain about this game is the lag between the actions and the sound effects--which could be an issue only in my system--and the lack of music (although you said you made some…)
Other than that, I can honestly say that I am jealous of your artistic ability and the polishing that you've put into this game.
Very well done indeed.
Nice concept, but the difficulty got too hard on level 4, I think. I wasn't unable to neither control the volcano nor gather up enough resources.
So I ended up in a room filled with beds and a chinese man... o_O I liked the simple controls, but the item swapping mechanic some times was a little frustrating. Also, I got the pot without givin Miguel any food by just changing room while standing behind him in the room below; I did that not on purpose and I got confused as hell when he asked for food. The last puzzle was not that obvious which reminded me of Monkey Island and this is a very good thing :-)
I have to echo the "billion of clicks" and the repetitive music comments. I thought that the idea is interesting, but it needs some work.
I like it a lot! I had some problems understanding the movements of the creeps and thus I couldn't make a strategy to win level 3, but I managed somehow.
I love the visuals, but I am a little confused with the controls because for some reason, I always forget which button is which direction... Also, if I try to erase a tile with shift but there is none, I always expect the game to do nothing, but instead it moves to that position. I've lost so many times because of that! :-D
The text is extremely hard to read and the game is altogether too easy, I think. However, the graphics, the sound effects, and the idea were very well done. The red gem was useless to me because when I entered the red room (after completing the blue) there were no monsters (which, according to the helper thing, before it was full of them...)
Wow. Incredible how much content you've done in just 48 hours...
It is too slow for my machine :'(
I like the visuals, but I don't know how to build anything. I can open the build menu, but no matter what I try to select, I only end up shooting.
This game is quite difficult to play with a trackpad and usually I stood there waiting for the pirates to come to me :-D
It seems I have a performance issue when the robot is dancing: the image freezes, but I still can hear the big robot throwing… whatever is he throwing at me.
Unfortunately, I couldn't run neither the x86_64 nor the i386 version of the Linux build; I had to use a Windows box.
I tried at least 5 times and I always lose at the 4th wave or so (the one immediately after the small but fast ants). I guess it is too hard for me, but I enjoyed trying it.
The graphics are a bit too simplistic in the sense that the big ants are the same but scaled up and it is clearly visible, but they are OK. The music doesn't get in the way and although a bit repetitive, I didn't hate it :-D
It got repetitive and a little boring. At least was short (and I got to see an ant grabbing a banana!) and the music was cute.
There are some rough edges, specially if you don't go straight to the mines in the bigger world. Also, I am not particularly fond of the blind jumps, but maybe it's because this is not my type of games :-)
I liked the idea and the graphics are blockish but cute ^_^
A little too hard perhaps, but quite innovative, I think.
Excellent soundtrack! I have some issues with the controls, though. I don't like that moving backwards actually turns the ship the other way, because most of the time what I want is to continue firing at the enemies while retreating. Also, most of the time I found that is easier to just avoid the enemies instead.
At first I didn't understand the theme in your entry, but after I entered the first passage it clicked. Nicely done.
Great work. As with others, I had issues with the control scheme, but other than that excellent!
Excellent puzzle game! I wish I knew about the pushing before pulling my hair off, but once I found out I almost became excited :-P
I see nothing but a black screen that when I click, at random, it says I destroyed a world... Tried in Google Chrome on Windows 7 32-bit.
"You: 128 Ennemy: 128 You Lost :'(" Eh? Why? WHY!
The game's display doesn't fit my screen resolution and at first didn't see the commands section, which made me believe that the game is somehow controlled using the mouse and... holy crap, the computer is fast! Then I saw what I was missing and tried some unsuccessful strategies until I ended up with that 128/128 result but it seems I last anyway :'(
It remains me a lot of "Core Wars", and this is a very good thing (also, nostalgia ^_^)
Can't play it. It says:

I believe it was too easy to be fun. Maybe you can add some enemies, a timer, or even random path each time the game is run.
Like the others comments, I am going to complain about the white flash because it is frankly the only think I can :-)
I like the idea and how it fits the “tiny world” theme.
Well done!
Awesome pixel art and the game play is just... perfect. The link with the theme is a little weak, I believe.
Very basic gameplay but I found it charming nonetheless.
I am not going to lie: it wasn't fun for me. Perhaps, with a little sound or background music would improve. Also, the rotating background image make me feel dizzy somehow.
I don't quite understand the relation with the theme, but even so I had a great time playing this game. I liked specially the music.
Um, I don't know what I have just played... It is too abstract for me, I guess :-)
I finally finished it, but I find it very frustrating that I need to die again and again in order to understand the "rules". It certainly fits the theme, but I didn't have much fun with all the re-starting needed.
Liked the simple graphics and the humor when drowning and falling off the world, although I would prefer for the player to say the same without dieing.
I liked the game play while the graphics and the sounds reminded me of those of old games. However, it would be great to have some kind of restart when dead, because I do not enjoy having to quit, re-run the game, and see the intro again and again (I die a lot...)
Couldn't play it on Windows 7 32-bit using JRE 1.6.0_32. The error I got is:

Exception in thread "main"
The art style reminded me a lot to "Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure" but it's a pity the gameplay is so short.
I find it very difficult to control my friends and I am unable to keep them away from the edges. Also, the walls are near to useless, at least I couldn't make any use of them.
Very polished. I had problems with when I reached the other wizard that I got stuck between the two central columns and I couldn't get away from the foe and died, but other than that no complains at all :-)
The controls "while escaping" are most of the time annoying. I always get stuck behind some wall... Also, some elements are really hard to see.
I loved the idea of the circuit mini-game and they weren't as difficult as I first thought they would be :-D
The "squeaky" sound was great, but given it is the only sound (I could hear), it feels like something is lacking.
It is good!
I also fail to see the relation with the theme, however this doesn't mean it is not fun ;-)
The only thing that I can complain is the “reload” mechanic. I believe it would be better if it was some kind of “heating” or something, but only because usually I am given control on when/how to reload but you didn't in this game; I feel like I am restricted.
I can honestly say I don't know how to play this game. I can't even understand the walk-through; while playin I've never encountered a dungeon nor anything similar.....
At first I was confused what to do and just fell and fell until I didn't land and died. I guess the objective is to collect the coins, but I've spent 1/2 an hour already (without noticing!) and I only got to 100 points. I suck at this! :-P But I had fun nevertheless.
It takes too much time to start falling and I became bird food because of this so many times :-D The music is great, but is a pity it doesn't loop, breaking the mood. I was unable to make webs as cool looking as the ones in your screenshots, but I had fun nonetheless.
I really don't see the theme in there, but was interesting. I just suck as making combos, but has fun nonetheless.
It took a while for me to "click" and understand what to do. Ignoring the ending, this is a very creative use of the theme indeed.
I couldn't enjoy this game because pressing the up or down key would scroll the page and the player wouldn't move until the page was all the way up or down. Thus, even though I managed to play 3 or so levels, I won't rate this game because I don't feel like I got the full experience. Sorry
I liked the idea of tiny parallel worlds and found the game too short; I want more tiny worlds! :-)
Very addictive! I had to force myself to stop playing in order to continue rate other games, but I'll definitively play it again later.
I loved your interpretation of the theme, but some levels where more a "now I HAVE to move ALL those blocks?!". I managed to fall off the world in some middle levels. Other than that, very nice!
I loved everything about this one: the music, the sounds, the idea. The only trouble I had was knowing what to do at first, because I didn't realize the blue pixel was the starting point and the green the goal, but once figured, it was fun!
Cool game, but I had a hard start because I didn't notice that I had "tools" at the bottom of the screen. I guess some mini-tutorial would be a good addition.
