Nice game. Congratulations
Great gameplay and execution. Congrats.
One of my favorites. Love the art and screen effect that remind me of 8bit games. Congrats.
Hi. Please try to finish the game to see the end. It shouldn't take more than 10m. and I think it worths
Hello, a video of the gameplay made by a chilean video game website (it's in spanish)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhNBf4wDIto
Hi, thank you.. hope you read about pressing P and N to play different songs.
Hi, thank you for all comments... it seems that again I made a little too hard game :(
@mwest... thank you, Alien 8 was the second Filmation game so for me your comment is a great compliment.
Regarding controls you are right, it should have at least two options I will implement that in a second version
@randomnine the robots use a left-hand rule or right-hand rule. they should spin in the direction of the rule, but I couldn't implement it on time.
Excellent graphics. Congratulations.
Keyboard input really kills the experience. Couldn't pass the bug.
I liked the presentation screens... first level is hard until you discover how to pass. Second one is easier... keyboard doesn't respond very well in Chrome.
Great game and sense of humor. Congrats. Nice song and sound effects
Interesting gameplay and graphics. Congrat.
I couldn't hear any sound (Windows Vista 32)
Loading...
I'd prefer mouse control, at least as an option.
Has a lot of potential. Congrats.
Hello Shigor... thank you for your words. It seems that I alwasy make my game harder than it should be :( I'm glad you like the 2.5D view and the music. Best regards
Thank you all for testing the game
@Pierrec: you need to be stading on a block to jump over the guards :(
@summaky: yes the collision is not grid-based but I didn't have the time to polish the hitmask. Did you try the fixed version?
@Felipe Budinich Thank you, I actually consider myself a coder and not an artist , altought I love to make music for video games. Are you from Chile (I think I read about you in the Internetz)?
@tcstyle: yes I need to work on the jumping
Great game...like the art
Liked the C64ish art and ambience. Best luck
Great game.. I always wanted to make a lightgun game... maybe for the next LD. A lot of content and really fun. Good luck!!
Hi, fun game... I like the camera and the use of sprites in a 3D environment.. I tried the same in my entry :)
Didn't work in Win7 64... just heard the music :(
Interesting experience. Good luck.
Waiting for windows release :)
Great game.. I liked a lot of things.. I reminded me Berzerk from the 80s. Missed some music at the background and checkpoints... couldn't finish it :( Shouln't the character rotate?
Waiting for Windows release :)
Hi... interesting... I understand that that wasn't your goal, but I would have preferred some challenges when playing. Love2D is awesome.
It's a good game, congratualations... but it's too hard. Very nice gfx and music.
Sorry.. it didn't work on my PC (Win7 64bits no Ruby) It shows the title screen and freezes.
@FredericRP thank you for your feedback
Thank you all for your valuable feedback
@gebe yes.. after a while the music turns monotone. I wanted to have different songs for levels, but I couldn't make it on time ;) It's great to know that you finish it. Thank you
@jeffz thank you.
@dr_soda yeah... I added the vocals at the end, because it sounded a little empty... but it's a great idea the time shifting. Thank you.
@kumber thank you, yours is the best comment a game designer/programmer can receive
@summaky.. yes, after releasing it and tried in a different computer it seems to be too grey for playing in some monitores/computers... thank you
Hello Felipe, nice to see you here again... very original and art is superb. Congratulations.
Nice game.. simple an effective. Ghosts should kill you ;) I don't think the music is the right one for the game. I think you should post your source code to participate in the 48h competition :)
Good game. Congratulations.
Great game... I missed music and some puzzles, but for 48h competition is excellent the engine is very well done... it's very frustrating you don't keep the initial knives when you die and the slime enemies should avoid corners. Congratulations
Worked on Win7 64bits with Love 0.7.2. Interesting idea.
It's a very solid platformer. Congratulations.
Hi. Great work.. very playable. I would have preferred to have more FPS-like controls (w-> move forward instead of up) ;) Love2D is awesome :)
Sorry... It's almost unplayable in my PC... I think theres' a problem with collision detection/jump speed
Very good game.. I could complete it on my second try... I miss some music. I reminds me a lot old ZX Spectrum platform games.... what is a good thing.
Hi.. couldn't download it.. please upload it to dropbox instead of using your own machine :)
Congratulations for finishing you first LD48 game. It's a very short game and I didn't really understand what was happenning :)
Excellent first game... controls are a little difficult but overall is a great game. Love2D is awesome ;)
Great game... very good idea. Gfx are superb. It's super hard. In my opinion a shooter should have at least some sound effect it would add a lot to the player experience but I know it's a 48h compo and you privileged gameplay. Congratulations.
Great tech demo, hope you release a full game around it.
Good platformer. Great music.. a lot of content for a 48h compo, I liked the wall-cutting mechanism. Congratulations.
Nice background... unfortunately I couldn't hear any sound. Love2d is awesome.
As most said.. it gets repetitive quickly. Spaceship looks cool. Congratulations.
pygame.error: Couldn't open bg3.png...i tried renaming bg2.png... couldn't open water.png... common...
Great raycast engine. Congrats.
Nice gfx, excellent gameplay, nice mouse. Congrats.
Sad story :( Nice game, short but fun. Nice gfx (the bee and foot are in a different resolution I think)
Solid gameplay, nice gfx... Congrats. I didn't know about pygame2exe... thank you!!!
It reminded me a single-screen Metroidvania contest ADVA made a couple of years ago: http://www.adva.com.ar/codear/codear-single-screen-metroidvania/ You already know what it's wrong, so I just say that it's a great tribute to a great game. I miss the 8bit music during gameplay. Congrats.
Nice gfx, I missed diag movement.
Not my kind of game, sorry :( but it looks great and have a nice music.
I really hope you finish your game in Haxe/NME!!! Beautiful pixel art.
It's amazing what you did in 48h. Congrats.
Nice game, I couldnt find the secret level. Congrats and kudos for using Haxe/NME.
Great music and effects (your voice I presume), solid platforme engine. Congratulations. Hope you have time to add more levels.
Nice gfx, nice music, very original... great entry. Congrats.
Interesting gameplay, nice music and gfx... I think it should detect you end a level at least. Congrats
Nice graphics. It was fun but short. No music in Chrome 18.0.1025.162 m
Worked OK in Win7 + Python 2.7.2 + pygame 1.9.2pre. Good idea and you finish your game. Unfortuntately, it lacks a lot of things.
Nice music, unfortunately I went out of the screen and couldn't come back :(
Beautiful...but I coudn't get how to avoid obstacles and die always at 7th, 8th second...
Amazing!!!! My favorite entry so far. Congrats!!!
Kudos for using pygame. Unfortunately, the game lacks a lot of things to be fun, but congrats for finishing your game.
Good start. Kudos for using Corona a Löve!!!
Where is the source code? ;)
Great concept, I really liked the engine, On the other hand the challenge, the controls and the collition detection could be improved.
Very original, it would be great with touch controls. Nice music.
Congrats for your first Java game :)
Great art. Kudos for using Löve and the Webplayer. Great idea, a little too hard :)
I reallu liked this entry. It reminded me a littel the art style of the great Silvergun. Don't see the theme here, tho.
Nice gfx. Kudos for using pygame.
Great game, hope you finish it.
Very original idea. Excellent music. Congrats
@SidetrackGames at least its a beginning ;)
@schattenkind.net Thank you. I wish I had more time for music :) I'm glad to see you like my game!!!
@gavin5564... yes, but I wanted to try a full left-right-jump platform game with just one button/touch :)
@uprightpath.. yes the hitbox is larger than the player gfx, and havent had time to correct it as I developed my own (super simple rectangle to rectangle) collision function. I will correct it in the next version.
@Zillix Thank you for your feedback
@30dog, Thank you for your feedback, I implemented double jumo in post-compo version. Yes, I think screen wrapping is a core element of the gameplay.
@EddM Thank you. Theres is double jump in the post-compo version
@m4c0 Yes, I'm planning to implement other element to avoid this luck-issue.
@Tom 7 Yes, I noticed that after the compo. I added checkpoints to the post-compo version.
@orangepascal Thank you for your feedback
@gingerbeast Thank you, I added checkpoints to the post-compo version, now the game is a little too easy I think :)
@arhpositive Thank you for your feedback. I know it's a little frustrating, when I was testing my game I couldn't finish it.. that's frustrating
@moop I'm planning to implement a new game element to avoid them
@Ben: thank you for yout feedback
@RobProductions: I wish I had more time to work in the music. I'm planning to leave the main theme in the introduction and add a new music during gameplay.
@Hattered hahaha.. best comment. Thank you for your feedback
Nice music, congrats. I couldn't see the connection with the theme.
It's hard not to give you 5 starts in Audio, because I know how difficult is to write a song. Actually. I had a similar idea for this LD (believe me or not ;) ) but I realized that was almost impossible to execute... maybe because I was in the solo competition, anyway... you did it so congrats. Regarding the gameplay, I agree with most comments, so you already know :)
Interesting, it took me sometime to figure it out how to get out of the first room...
Nice 8bit gfx, but the terrain doesn't fit. Kudos for using Löve
Nice art and music. A little too easy.
Looks nice, but I don't know what to do :(
Great music & gfx!!! Congrats.
Interesting. I really liked the idea of invading other planets. Good use of sounds.

Nice visual effects, and interesting gameplay, it's sad you didn't have time for music,
Has potential, congrats for your game.
Nice gfx and great idea... really loved the backgrounds. Music was simple but effective. Congrats
It's a very interesting engine. Obviously you run out of time to add more features, but it's a very good start (You should add music, first :) )
Congrats for your first game!!!
It's hard not to give you 5 stars in Audio :) I didn't like the mix of styles in the foreground and background, but anyway great gfx and game. Congrats
Kudos for using pygame. Interesting idea
Great art!!! I reminded me a Intellivision game which is excellent. I liked the zoom effect a lot. Music should be 8bit :)
Nice game, deserves a fine tune :)
Unfortunately I couldn't move on the second level. Win7 + Chrome 18.0.1025.168 m
Incredible art!!!! Very fun.
Wow.... the idea is EXCELLENT!!! The current version is too hard but the mechanic has a huge potential. I would add an "easy" mode: when you select the note in the pad it plays the associated tone so it is easier to sequence the DNA. Congratulations!!!
Fun and hard!! Needs desperately bgm and sfx
Great..
Hi, basic but playable, congrats. You should try py2exe( or pygame2exe), pyinstaller, etc. instead of distributing python+pygame.
Great execution and good idea.
Nice story.. I really wanted to like it after reading the comments, but at least for me there is no enough challenge to be fun :(
It was fun and challenging. I got to level 5 I think. Nice gfx, particles and sfx.. missed bgm. Loved granades!!! Congratulations.
Simple and fun. Nice music, Congrats.
Hola, no pude ejecutar... como ya se dijo deberĂa tener un ejecutable. Mucha suerte.
Excellent idea and execution. Most innovative gama I tried. I wanted to do the same but with shooters, but didn't have the time... Tried a couple of times but couldn't defeat the ghost boss... you know that as adventure games evolved they added "continues" and "extra lives" ;)
Too bad you coudnt finish it.
Nice engine... balls may bound too much but it is really well implemented.
Hi all. Thank you very much for your feedback. This weekend I will try to make a post-compo version: more levels, more enemies, new mechanics (I hope) and better music. Good luck to all!!!
Great art!!!
Great Zelda clone. Nice graphics and excellent demostration of what one can aspire to do in 48hrs. Evolution?
Nice gfx, bgm and sfx will add a lot to the gameplay. Very hard.
Nice idea, I liked that reading arguments distracted you from the ball!!!
Nice game!! meat should decompose :)
Interesting. Nice music and gfx. Kudos for using Haxe!!!
Nice game.. a lot of content.. It really need a catchy bgm. Interesting banana mechanic. Kudos for using Haxe.
A little confusing at moments, but no doubt this is an incredible entry. Superb.
Excellent atmosphere. Please finish it it is very promising. Beautiful art and music. Nice 3D effect.
Nice idea. Loved the planet scenario. Kudo for using love2d. It has a lot of potential. Congrats.
Hope you finish it.
Great gfx and nice sounds. Loved the step by step mechanic. Excellent. A little too hard. Kudos for using Haxe. Congrats.
Sometimes the ball slows down. It's a good twist to breakout clones. Congrats
As I didn't read the description or comments(spoilers) it took a me a while to understand how to defeat yourself.
Interesting idea. I have a similar idea when I knew the theme, so it is great to see it. Please add diagonal movements, a smaller hitbox (like bullet hell shmups) and more content and could be a great game. Loved the retro style. Congrats
Beautiful and original. Excellent entry. Congrats.
Intersting idea. Hope you have time to finish it.
Nice graphics... but gameplay is a little confusing. Kudos for using Haxe. Congrats
Congrats for finishing. Tried a few minutes, but coudnt find the exit.
Sorry, it doesn't work in my Win7/64bit. Tried compatibility mode, but it doesn't work.
Interesting, but a little too hard. Liked the music.
obviously it needs more time but congrats for finishing a game.
This could become a great game!! Please finish it... movement could be improved and a little too hard. Kudos for using Haxe. Congrats
Excellent. Very polished and great art!!! A little too hard but I'll come back to try to finish it.
Super beautiful!!!! it's sad you didnt hava time to make sounds or music, they would have added a lot of value. I was hoping that gold had a more important role in the gameplay. Congrats.... source code?
Nice gfx style, but a little too hard. Congrats.
Great gfx, as already said music is little too happy, but nice tune. Congrats.
Stuck in walls and monster is too slow, but the idea is interesting. Congrats.
Nice!!! Very solid gameplay. Congrats
I use pygame a lot, but when i try to run this I've got:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "main.py", line 277, in <module>
main()
File "main.py", line 202, in main
e.angle = ai.angle_2(player1, e)
File "C:\Users\jfroco\Downloads\Just Another\ai.py", line 19, in angle_2
angle_rad = math.atan(x_diff/y_diff) #POS
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'atan'
I checked ai.py and seems OK.
My python installation seems OK too:
Python 2.7.2 (default, Jun 12 2011, 15:08:59) [MSC v.1500 32 bit (Intel)] on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import math
>>> math.atan(1)
0.7853981633974483
Strange
I've changed in ai.py
from math import atan,degrees,pi
and all the math.atan, math.degrees, math.pi calls and it worked.
Weird.
Simple and fun. Liked the cloak mechanic. Kudos for using Haxe. Congrats for your first entry.
Sorry, couldn't run "Could not find the main class: com.spotlightcoding.Rob" tried both the .bat and the jar file.
Hahaha.. now I understood why you said you love the theme in my entry. I really liked the idea of killing knights from behind. Hope you dedicate more time to finish the game as the game frozen when I was playing.
... and contratulations for finishing your first game.
Nice mechanic, fun levels, great game...It could become a great mobile game. Congrats
Super nice graphics. A little too hard to control. Congrats.
Not my type of game, but it looks and feels polished, original and very smart. Gfx are great. Congratulations.
Congrats for your first entry. It's sad that you didn't have time for adding music... that would have been great. Nice gfx. But level design could improve.
Nice gfx. Confusing controls at the beginning. Congrats.
Fun.If would be great to generate levels randomly... but I know you only had 48h. Congrats.
Nice pixel art. Hope you keep working on it, it has a lot of potential. Congrats.
One of the best ideas I've seen...too bad it is only one neighborhood. Congrats
Smart, fun and well executed. One of the best entries I've player so far. Congrats.
Cthulhu... the ultimate evil... I made a Cthulhu game in LD22, so I love the theme. gameplay is very interesting. Congrats.
One of the best I've played so far. Great gameplay mechanics. Excellent idea and theme use. A little too easy, but the potential of the game is huge!!! Kudos for using Haxe. Congrats.
Nice game... I couldnt defeat Satan :( but I killed Santa, Should I be proud? Very polished. Congrats.
Interesting mechanics. Great pixel art. Sorry I can't rate audio because you didn't make it, but the music is amazing.
Super solid flashlight/stealth mechanics. The song is great. Reminded me of 80s arcade games. Congrats.
Super great art!!! I really liked the crow mechanic it has a lot of potential. Congrats.
Presentation is extraodinary. Loved the music and the gfx. Nice idea. Great to have a game protagonized by a Minotaur.
I didn't have the opportunity, or should I say honour, to rate this game befores results came up. But it's never tool late to say that you are GENIUS... Congratulations this is one of the best games I've seen in last LD's. EXCELLENT!!!
Interesting idea. A little too short but that's the duration of the original Space Invaders. Kudos for using Love2D.
Beatiful!!! Nice gameplay and excellent gfx. Very solid. Congrats.
Same here. Sorry
I really liked this game. Simple but fun. Gfx are ones of the best I've seen in this LD. Congrats.
Great game. I loved the 3d effect. Congrats.
Excellent! Loved the idea, the gfx, the music. Everything. Unfortunately I couldn't find a friend to play. Its a very good twist to paper, rock, scissors mechanics. This could be a best seller in iOS. Contrats.
I made a very similar game a time ago... but it was a FPS...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7fK8A0Agak I should have recycled that idea :( Anyway... great little game. Congratulations.
Interesting ideas... please try to expand it to have more levels with different items.... and release it for iOS :) It would be great to have an Accept button as well.. Congrats.
Great game.... I love it... simple mechanic, great art style, random levels... you have everything to have an iOS best seller. The music is too simple but I understand that it is because of thetime constraint. Congrats.
hahaha.. nice little game.. beautiful art... Extra points for using Love web player. Congratulations.
Nice mechanics. I found it a little too hard. Nice art. Congrats.
Excellent game. Congrats. I loved the gfx and the music. It reminded me of Zelda, of course, and the dragon of Adventure (Atari 2600):
Excellent game. I really liked the mechanics. I made a similar game a couple of years ago.. but you shoot a ball.. I should have remembered that game instead of creating a new one.... but great game. Congrats.
Great gfx. I liked the idea and gameaplay, unfortunately I got very low fps (using web version). Congrats.
Great platform game.. it reminded me 8bit games...a little too hard...Congrats.
I found it too hard and the mechanic was unfortunately not intuitive for me. Nice environment. Congrats
Great art: gfx and fun little music!!!! I wish I could made this level of graphics. I liked the idea to protect Octavius. Kudos for using Haxe!!! Congrats.
Excellent art: gfx and music. Congrats. A little too hard for me... but great game. Congrats.
Good game.. a little short. But it is well executed. Nice tune. I liked the art style, too. Congrats.
Great game.. it reminded me old arcade games. The mechanic is great. Congrats.
Congrats. Great little puzzle game. It's a good reduction of several mechanics. Love the art style: 5 stars.
it's like GTA with handrawings.. nice short game.
I don't know if it this is a happy ending ;)
It is a very interesting and claustrophobic mechanic. The lack of music affects the experiencie... minimalist art is always the best. Congrats.
Great game.. a little too hard. Nice graphics and sfx... several entries have used the same idea but yours is more pure and minimalistic. Congrats.
Congrats. Interesting idea. I made a similar game a lot of time ago.. it was a FPS when you have one ball to kill enemies... I should have recycled that idea :( Great game. I would have preferred not press the mouse button to take the boomerang back,.
Incredible graphics and art style. Congrats. The mechanics is too simple for me but it seems to be very addictive. Great entry.
Photorealistic graphics FTW!!!!!! Congrats. Always a little fresh air is welcomed. Thank you for making this contest a little more fun.
Excellent concept and mechanics... you should port it to iOS to have a best seller. Aiming could be easier using a line... Congrats.
Great little game.. It has a lot of potential, please try to expand it. Congratulations.
Great game.. A time ago I made a similar game but it was a FPS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7fK8A0Agak , but yours is more arena type of game. I really liked, I liked the idea of losing if the ball is out of the map. Congrats.
Simple and fun.... a lot of potential... it reminded me of Wario serie. Congrats.
