Music and colors went very well together for the game, very soothing! Only frustration was getting zapped by cell-thingies by the edge while collecting things there.

I liked it, very relaxing game and nice background music. The fact that you're not really knowing which direction you're exactly headed needs some getting used to but makes it more interesting and challenging in the long run.

I agree with Beanalby that the cell-thingies (baddie?) on the edge get frustrating. Would be cool if there could be some sort of indicator on the edge that a cell will spawn at a point soon.

The music was nice and I like the feel of the cell movement.

Cool, it ran smooth even on my slow computer. Did you consider having a progression of difficulty? I got to 2000 points and the game didn't seem to be any harder. Maybe just more bubbles as your score increases, keep things challenging, you know?

dxdydz 2012-04-24 04:11

Hi cosmologicon, there actually is a progression of difficulty, but I think I set it to ramp up too slowly. Thanks for playing it, though!

mneubrand: I wanted to put an animated flagellum on the back to help indicate direction, but I didn't get around to it in time. Thanks for trying my game, though!

Could you try and make a Windows .exe?

raptor85 2012-04-24 11:46

running it directly under python runs fine on linux, may want to add it to your list up top so it shows up on search.

jfroco 2012-04-25 03:08

Nice music, unfortunately I went out of the screen and couldn't come back :(

robcozzens 2012-04-26 04:56

I would try it if you had a Web or OSX version.

natpat 2012-04-26 22:37

It was nice, but it didn't feel like it got any harder as it went on. I liked the atmosphere of it though, and the music went well with it.

nehmulos 2012-04-27 14:49

I really liked the music and the color changing background it all matched very well an created a comfortable soft relaxing atmosphere. The fluent movement also contributed.
It reminded me of Osmos and snake.

I didn't really get bothered by the baddies on the edges, but I found it a little bit confusing that I could move outside the screen and get lost.
Maybe you should automatically turn around once you get out to far, so that you find your way back.
I also value that the game gets harder with time, or at least I felt like there were more baddies reporting in with time. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid when I gather lots of valuable score points.

At all it was a nice short fun game with a wonderfully balance atmosphere.

:D python + pygame! You know you can 'port' it to exe anytime you want, as long as you don't change the game itself. That's completely within the rules. It was pretty fun though.

oye-beto 2012-05-01 21:53

You should port it to exe if you can.
The truth is I don't want to install python or python game, but I want to play your game :-)

tourgen 2012-05-01 23:44

wouldn't run for me. I guess I don't have the right version of python.

r3ason 2012-05-02 00:00

Great! Good game; really liked the fading colours! I think it'd be great if you didn't die the first time you hit a bad cell-thingie, and also if you couldn't float off the screen. Also, I got a tad confused as to which way I was pointing, but then again, I suppose not all micro organisms have heads/tails, do they? :D Thanks!

jeffz 2012-05-02 00:03

Hmm... no executable? Packaging after the deadline is allowed. Shame I can't run it, I don't have python installed. Also, you would save *a lot* of space by using ogg instead of wav for the sounds and music.

madflame991 2012-05-03 12:41

See this? I'm commenting! That means I ended up on your page to play your game... but I can't because I do not have this "Python" console or whatever :D

I'm sure you'll get more ratings if you exe-fy your game. And I know ptyhon is great and all but still, web-playable games are better since you don't have to download 1402 of them...

skyboy49707 2012-05-10 15:47

Pygame wont work for whatever reason, can't play it :(

johnfn 2012-05-13 23:54

Nice music and style. One bug: I went off the side of the screen with a lot of acceleration, and disappeared forever. I didn't die though, and my score kept slowly ticking up.
