The Invention of Colour by bach 2011-12-19T09:30:00
I loved the pixel grid and the art in general.
The game is more about watching than playing (like mine), so I feel like I can't criticize you for the lack of interactivity :P
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → Users → Oye Beto

I loved the pixel grid and the art in general.
The game is more about watching than playing (like mine), so I feel like I can't criticize you for the lack of interactivity :P
The graphics are pretty but it's so dark that it hurts my eyes when I try to look where I'm walking.
Ok, thank you; I uploaded it again.
I also added a high quality version.
The standard version has a shorter vision range, more fog, less ghosts and threes.
I liked the ASCII graphics
The blur hurt my eyes, but overall I liked it.
47 diamonds :o
Simple and fun :)
Nice graphics.
- You managed to make a good number of levels.
- I liked the music because it has a space vibe on it.
- I enjoyed playing the whole game.
- Looks cute :)
- A backing track would make it more musical but I like the idea of asteroids making sounds.
- It's simple and intuitive.
I froze the water but I couldn't kill the yeti :(
I liked the graphics and the idea but I think it needs some improvements:
- I'd change the attack frequency and maybe the range... or maybe there was a power up I didn't find :o
- You could add some music later.
- Specify a goal.
- Snails should give snow more frequently and maybe drop hp potions.
Nice start, keep working on it :D
You made a lot of mini games with a lot of graphics :o
the art is pretty cool and it's interesting to see what will come after each mini game.
I didn't know inudge, it looks fun.
I zoomed in my browser as recommended.
- I love your pixel art.
- The story is very interesting.
- If players are dying too often maybe something could be improved in level design or buildings should give more emotion.
At some moment I couldn't build a drill, there was plenty of space but it said it didn't.
I got 3 different finals :D
In the post-compo version you should consider having a menu screen showing the unlocked alternative finals.
Good job :)
- Music is great, this game has one of the best songs I've heard here so far. Too bad laser sounds overlaps/mutes music when you shoot.
- I like the neon colors on a dark background. The space ship, walls and floor of the level look really good.
- I think it needs a change on the enemies speed or spawn rate.. something that makes it easier. You could also turn on a light on each gate, announcing the color of the next enemy rush coming from there.
- I suggest making each enemy color weak to his own color. It's more intuitive.
Good job! it just needs to be polished.
I finished the game :)
Nice story and the dialogs were fun.
I like how my bullets follow the enemy.
I wish my planet where smaller and moved fast so more dodging were involved.
I'm not into the game mechanic but I see it's a good concept. Pixel art is pretty good, the graphic aspect looks carefully done. Sound effects are used very well according to every game situation.
Very good game.
Once I understood it I enjoyed it and played every difficulty :)
- I didn't get it at first glance but then I slowly started to understand it. After the 1st time I won, my actions became systematic, which makes me think it's not a game to play for a long time.
- Art is pretty good. I like how the cubes slide when the mouse is over and when there's a natural disaster. Also the glow on the selected cube is a nice detail.
- Music is very well done, it's perfect for a relaxed mood and I enjoyed listening to it.
Looks like a good idea. I only played the compo version and I think it's too difficult. I got desperate when asteroids wouldn't let me get more money so I got stuck.
I liked the graphics and it has a great color palette.
I think it needs something like a stars background that serves as reference to know how near or far is my zoom.
I killed 16 :o
I found that if I keep pressing the spacebar it's easier to push robots.
Graphics look like a good start but like you mentioned it's still not a game.
It was difficult to control the particle, maybe the acceleration is too low.
I liked rushing to the end but it feels like there should be something more than colliding with bouncy spheres.
You could also detect the player got stuck and auto-restart in some seconds.
I finished the game and it was fun :)
Great use of particle effects and graphics overall are so cool. The music and sound effects are pretty good too.
I think the end could be more rewarding and maybe you could set a minimum number of 'data packs' to get to next level instead of collecting ALL.
Good job!
Amazing art and fun to play. Audio fits perfectly.
My only suggestions are:
- Don't reset the music.
- Slow down the dark blob or make easier levels.
Good job!
One has to think VERY carefully before moving anything because once a piece is moved it can't go back. This adds a high level of difficulty and more challenge, which can be something good or frustrating, depending on the player.
In my case, I gave up. I'd love an undo button (with limited uses).
Graphics are great, music is good, level design is very interesting and overall it looks very polished.
Good job!
Ya lo pasé! Batallé mucho con un mono azul, pero por fin pude :)
Está muy bien cuidado en todos los aspectos, los felicito.
PD. Encontré el nivel secreto, pero no lo he pasado :P
Nice simple/sober interface.
It's the first game I see using a server-client architecture which is interesting but I think it needs more interactivity to be fun, for example:
- Each player can only fart in one country at a time, if he farts somewhere else, his last fart is lost.
- If other player farts in the same country, he wins the territory and last player's fart is erased.
- Players accumulate points by being the only person farting in a specific country.
- Players can only fart every 'n' minutes.
Dialogs are funny, they make the wait between disasters fun.
When the captain said "LOL jk..." I laughed loud.
The random avatar making is a nice feature :)
Cool game, congrats ;)!
You should port it to exe if you can.
The truth is I don't want to install python or python game, but I want to play your game :-)
What I liked:
- Pixel art and monochrome style.
- Relaxing 8 bit music.
- Parallax scrolling and graphic details.
What could be improved:
- After walking for a while it gets tedious, so I suggest improving the gameplay. Maybe adding a quest and shorting the distance between characters would help.
I couldn't beat level 1... I can't get to the green crystals :(
I'd prefer an easier level and then move to something like this.
The hand made drawings are pretty cool and I also liked the music.
wow!...
I laughed.
I liked it.
Cool!
Nice pixel art.
Great short game. I think it's good as it is with no more levels.
Controls are kind of weird, some times it's hard to grab something or it bounce away when I grab it.
The song is very sticky :)
I can't play it because I don't have python installed.
Perfect graphics, perfect music and perfect gameplay.
I liked the teleport feature :D
You guys rock!
I liked the little story :P
The gameplay is too simple to be fun and I think you should add a background or something just to have a reference to know if I'm moving.
We have the same theme :)
and like in my game, the map doesn't look like a circuit xD
- I mostly liked the mechanic and graphics. You have a great concept, keep making levels :D
- The sound effect you made the with the broom sounds good! xD
- I guess you didn't have time to add a "win" screen because I finished the 5 levels but nothing happened :P
I got a little dizzy when it got faster @.@
Interesting mechanic and I liked the abstract art style.
It feels like it needs something else to be more fun. Maybe if instead of locking, the player would have to pass through the shape without crashing. More zooming and less camera rotating.
It's a good puzzle mechanic.
I think it would be fun if the grid was much smaller. You could give the user the option to choose 3 difficulties with different grid sizes and people desires, maybe in level one people just desire to be on a specific color and near 'n' amount of people.
You didn't have enough time but you didn't give up. That's the right attitude :)
Great graphics.
I liked the music and sound effects. The arcade style of the game is pretty cool (menu and stuff).
I wish I had an xbox controller because it's difficult to play with the keyboard.
I suggest adding an aim indicator and since it's Unity, maybe you could add a web version.
It run fine. I downloaded the Windows(no install) and I'm on Windows 7.
Good thing you made a no-install version, it's easier to download and play.
I think the gameplay needs something else, maybe if you had a moving angle instead of predefined arrows and you decide when to stop it to launch your giant guy. Or maybe keep the arrows but control the strength of the impulse... I don't know :P
good luck :)
I like having a jetpack :o
The screen is a little jerky but it wasn't a real problem.
I'd suggest adding "Press x" in the menu screen or allow the player to press Enter or Spacebar. Also you could add more challenging levels where the player has to use wisely his fuel.
Amazing graphics, great audio and fun to play. I want to play the finished version!
Easy to pick up and play.
I like the control over the jump height and graphics are nice.
It could be improved with enemies or spikes and the ability to jump down.
Wow!....
That was so cool!
I loved that I had a badass ant friend half of the game xD
The graphics, concept, gameplay, even the story, was great.
The game flow was very fluent: I died but respawned fast and kept going. Also it wasn't tiring at all.
Fun from start to end.
- I liked the pixel graphics. You could try using parallax scrolling to give it more depth.
- The music is very percussive and it works.
- It's a good thing that it's short because it's an exploring game with no gameplay. I was curious to try both paths.
- You did a good job for the short time you used.
I got to level 4.
I liked the concept and all but the controls are a pain. I played level one with the new controls and it's a huge difference! Now it's more focused on the actual puzzle of the game than aiming correctly.
I have to judge based on the compo version which is less fun, but it's a great game :D
Hey, I'm back. I finished the fixed version xD
It was pretty cool.
I got 141 points :)
I don't know if it was a bug but '+' signs had no effect the first time I played the game, the second time they gave me a triple shot.
Not very different from asteroids with a tiny world in the middle but it was fun.
Minecraft made easier and with more interactivity :o
This entry has a big future, keep updating it! :D
I finished the game :)
I mostly liked the game boy graphics.
I think you should change the jump physics and work a little more in level design.
Maybe you want to give it some uncertainty but I'd like to have a goal. I was playing without knowing what I had to do :P
I'd also recommend adding hoykeys for buildings or maybe separating the controls for the planet movement (rotate with WASD) and button clicking.
- It's a weird game and the music makes it feel more random xD
I like the ugly face of the main character :)
Graphics look intentionally weird/ugly... if it wasn't intentional, I'm sorry xD
- You used the python music generator someone uploaded here, didn't you? :P
- I'd suggest automatically redirecting to another world instead of going to the main menu every time the player goes off the screen.
- The scoreboard is a good detail. I like seeing my name there :D
Controls are difficult to master, it feels like side movement is inverted.
In the instructions screen blue letters with black background are difficult to read.
With better controls I think it would be more fun :)
I like it, the first 2 levels were fun! :D
then I got tired at level 3 also the blue screen hurt my eyes :(
- Controls are not responsive at all. I don't know if it's my computer or what but when I press the arrow keys there's a half second delay on the move of my circle.
- I also get lost because all the circles are exactly the same.
- Game plays by itself. If I do nothing it still goes on. I'd like more interactivity.
- I liked the diffuse effect on the graphics.
- Music is the strongest aspect of this game. Did you make it?
Music is very good, did you make it?
oops I repeated the music question :P
My score was 7436 in 221 seconds.
- It's fun. I liked the wall stretching mechanic.
- Very polished game, graphics and music are really good.
- I love the song <3 I think it's my favorite song in this LD so far (this is exactly the 100th game I rate!)
- At the beginning I didn't like the left-right cannon shooting but after picking power ups, it was ok.
- For a post-compo version, in-game instructions would be nice.
- Adding a scoreboard would be good too.
Very original old movie art style. It was fun to smash people, cars and plains.
I'm not into gore games, but maybe some blood (red, not black&white) and explosions would be cool, I think it would add more destruction feel to the game.
I think gameplay could be improved by adding something that heals and using the fists as shields.
Maybe you could add arrows pointing to the nearest star to improve the game flow.
It was fun to kill the evil wolves and I was expecting to see more enemies but they did't appear.
I liked the graphics, the hexagonal style of the world looks very good.
It wold be fun to jump on the enemies and bounce killing multiple enemies like in Mario galaxy.
I won :)
Playing a simple game while listening to the Carl Sagan's speech was interesting. It was wise to use the narration because if the game didn't have it, it might be a little boring.
The sound effects are too loud compared to the narration volume.
- I liked the pixel graphics and particle effects.
- It's fun. I played the whole game and enjoyed it :D
- The shooting and killing feels good. Haha, I mean the action-feedback of it.
- The lullaby music sounds incoherent with the concept of the game.
I'm very impressed. Five stars in everything.
Congratulations, team!
Nice puzzles and original mechanic. Graphics are another strong aspect in this game.
I finished the game but the truth is I mostly did it by trial error rather than thinking :P
Next step: adding sounds and music.
Good job :)
Congratulations on you first game :D
I didn't need the different forms, I only used the fast one :P
I guess you didn't have time to add enemies and other stuff that forces the player to use them.
I suggest you to move the dialog key (W) somewhere else on the keyboard because sometimes I pressed it accidentally, having to go through the whole message again.
Keep working on it, it's a good game idea :)
You made a lot of graphics :o
I like your pixel art! :)
Good job.
- Everything looks so pretty! :o
- I don't know what are some buildings for, but I liked the building feature.
I killed the boss :o
I liked the game, it was fun :)
I didn't find useful moving forward (away from the hive). Maybe you could add some extra lives to appear somewhere in the screen so the player has to move more.
I also liked the score saving.
I played it on full screen and I got dizzy in the controls screen @.@
I think you should make the stars background move very very slow but the planet a little faster.
I like the fact you can't just spam bullets because the ship overheats.
Have you thought about adding power ups? Maybe a temporary penetrating laser would be cool :o
Interesting puzzle mechanic :)
Yay! I totally owned red team on level 2 :D
- Graphics are great, I see some Airmech inspiration there ;)
- You could add music on later version.
- Such a fun game, good job guys!
You can play my game by clicking my username.
It was fun!
It reminds me of geometry wars.
I had a little problem with shooting and moving at the same time but I think it was my keyboard inability to press multiple keys at the same time. This could get fixed with WASD moving and mouse shooting.
I'd suggest using other text color in the menu, maybe green because it's difficult to read now.
Wow.. it definitely is original.
My eyes hurt because my screen is 1080p so pixels are very small :P
Dialogs gradually built a nice mood. I also liked the message and the little story.
For a post-compo version I'd like to see more gameplay.
I'm impressed with the quality of music, great composition!
Art is another strong aspect of this game, animations look great.
I had fun, good job!
I can see the credits and the awesome bonus but I click play and I hear a sound but nothing happens. I'm on a mac.
Nevermind ...I think this computer doesn't have flash player. (it's a school computer)
- Graphics are good, I liked the color selection.
- I played for a minute and didn't find a single enemy. I refreshed, killed an enemy and then nothing else appeared :P
I think it's a bug but it's not fun this way.
- I suggest adding WASD to the controls.
I liked the graphics, you used well the components of Unity.
I could't find an habitable planet :P
I'd like to have feedback when sending survey teams and mining bots.
oh no! Maria was a trap!
I liked your game, it was fun. Somehow it was immersive and I liked the dialogs.
So fun!
I liked the mechanics and arcade style (gradually getting harder).
The only thing I'd change is the tab button. I think 'E' could be better. You could also add music in the post-compo version.
Good job.
Nice theme. I didn't understand the circuit mode, it worked but I didn't know why.
The march music of the beginning sounds complex and well done. Is it some kind of open source music or you made it?
I think the instructions should be briefer and the time countdown shorter.
The screenshots reminds me of robocode :o
All the splash screens take too long.
I was making a new account but it stayed forever in the 'connecting' state.
Couldn't rate, sorry.
I liked the concept of a virtual machine with black background and green characters but I could't pass the maze level because the goal disappears.
It was pretty cool. I liked the big pixels graphics and the dimension traveling.
For a post-compo version I'd add music.
I read the guide and it sounded like a good concept but in practice it was difficult to play. I built but I couldn't make my people do something :P
Interesting..!
I see potential for a rhythm game. Each ring could make a different note to make melodies.
The "Allowed" numbers should be more visible. You could move them to the center and add some alpha to it. If the number of allowed particles is low, make it's color more solid.
..or just leave it as it is but make the number white :)
It moves too slow :(
I think it would be more fun if it were faster.
I liked the graphics in game because they look like an old pc game. The menu graphics could be improved.
The background looks very cool :D
I wish I could keep shooting with a sustained click.
I wanted to beat the boss but swiming around to find him gets boring.
The swiming physics needs a little tweaking and gameplay still lacks of something like different enemys, more attacks or something.
Keep it up :)
- Be careful with multiple plays of the same sound because it saturates.
- Great level design
- Very fun
- Not very original
- I liked the level of difficulty
- I can't see the minimalism on it.
I finished all the levels :D
5/5 on fun
Instructions in game would be good :P
I didn't know I moved both characters.
Once I understood the mechanic, it was fun. I like doing 2 things at the same time and the change of locations makes it more dynamic.
My highscore is 178.
No problem. Thanks for your comments on my game :)
haha xD
Interesting game but not very intuitive.
I read the rules but I'm still a little confused.
Where are you from?
I won.. I guess :)
I'll rate you based on the compo version and then I'll try version 2.
Version 2 is more finished but I think it still lacks of some mechanic to make it fun. Something like a puzzle, maybe.
I don't know if I'm playing it right, I'm doing it by trial and error and I can't win :P
I liked that you connected it with google accounts and the web design looks good.
- I can't see the theme anywhere but I liked the game.
- Nice opening screen.
- The controls are a little awkward.
- The parallax city at the background of level 1 looks pretty cool, reminds me of Canabalt.
- I didn't finish level 3. That level had my favorite music in the game.
Wow this is very creative. I'm giving you 5 in innovation and fun. Clever game and level design.
The music is funny haha.
About your comment on my game: A door appears when you collect ALL the yellow squares and that's the only way to finish a level and get the "you win" message you are suggesting :)
I beated your game, did you beat mine? xD
-I came to play your game because your display reminds me of my game :P
-my score: 746
-For the post-compo version it would be cool if the wind intensity matched the music up and downs.
-For a 3 hours game this is pretty good.
I liked the mechanic, fun and simple :)
Also the graphic style is clean and minimalistic. I don't know if it's me or the controlls aren't 100% accurate. I wish it had sound.
Good job.
- It's fun!
- I like the graphics
- Not innovative
- I had to keep a hand on the R key because it's very difficult and I died often. I'd like it to auto restart or restart with any arrow key.
- It should't resize the screen to the window because it has low resolution.
- Please put a checkpoint at the beginning of the secret level :P
- I beated it the game but not the secret level (yet)
- I'd like to see the next version with sound
Great job. I'll check the source code because I want to learn to make games with HTML5
did you beat my game?
I don't like maze games but this one entertained me.
It's a new mechanic to me :)
I got to the you win message :D
I said "oooh..!" when I noticed it xD
The idea is original but I think the execution needs some tweaking. Getting the exact rotation is kind of tedious. What if it rotated by a fixed angle?
Nice art. I like how each level has a different goal.
Good game :)
I enjoyed playing it. It's very polished and fun.
- The music is good but the audio quality is too low.
- I like the cartoon style. Looks like a mix of Mucha lucha and Binding of Isaac xD
- I also liked attaching limbs to my character.
- No minimalism at all.
- The nearest layer on the parallax interferes too much at the right side of the screen.
- Damn Sully! he keeps killing me! (I know it's not Sully)
I got to round 6
- Player 2 should move with 'A' & 'D'
- It starts slow but gets more entertaining with multiple balls at the same time.
High pitch sounds were annoying. Also, I think they overlap, creating a higher sound.
It's interesting that the background is a photo you took :o
- The level selection should work with the keyboard.
- I'd like it to restart the same level where I died instead of going back to the level selection.
- Level 8 hurt my eyes xD
- Nice level design
- Very fun game :)
- Level 13 is hard D: (I'm still trying)
- Adding jumping with spacebar (and W) would be great.
I found the potato :)
13 was the most difficult level
did you beat mine?
Nice graphics!
The "console" message at the beginning is cool and the way the cubes start falling to create the level looks awesome.
I can't access your web page. I'll check again later.
I won :)
It' a good puzzle, it entertained me enough to finish it.
What an interesting idea. It's a new twist on the hokey games.
I played it with a controller.
The AI is pretty good. I'm sure it would be more fun with someone else. Great game!
Wow.. the AI made me think it was impossible but it wasn't.
- Great game, it was very fun (5/5).
- It's like a Zerg rush mini game :D
- The images resolution is too low and the text is blur.
- Good job on the AI.
- Not very "minimalistic"
- It's good that you put a mini map.
This looks very "experimental". It's more interesting than fun.
I liked the graphic style and the way you used sound.
oh well.. I can see the minimalism in the way you wanted to convey feelings. You aimed to the Mood category and I think you did pretty good on that.
"Too bad, kid" haha
it's too loud xD
Great music!
I love the bass on the song 5/5 for that.
Impressive graphics.
You should keep making levels :)
Where's the minimalism?
And thank for rating my game. I didn't add the arrows on the platforms because I felt it was more challenging this way.
Great game, it was fun. I haven't seen the same mechanics before, so it's something original to me.
1:29 is my record, beat my game and I'll beat yours.
Wow...
this game is going to the top of the rankings.
- Lovely art. I really like the style and animations.
- Short levels with 3 bosses = super fun. The levels were just a lobby before the bosses. I liked that.
- Good music
- Gampeplay isn't very innovative but the graphics make it feel fresh.
1000 points, level 19 :)
It's too easy and repetitive. It would be cool if you could't step on green tiles again, so it would require more thinking.
I liked the music.
- I have to slide in a small orange space. It seems impossible because my character won't start sliding in such a small space D:
- I liked the animation of the guy
- The death sound is kind of annoying
- The mechanic looks like a good idea but it needs to be implemented with better level design.
My comments while playing the original version:
- Interesting mechanics, but the controls are very uncomfortable
- The part where you can't move left was hard! I bounced and the enemy moved me to the right instead of left.
- I have a problem with my keyboard because it can't detect when I press 3 keys at the same time. The keyboard has some areas and only some combinations doesn't work. The level where I lost my armor is very difficult because I can't press Right+up+space bar ah the same time. This is very useful: http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/KeyboardGhostingDemo.aspx
- I like the hints being optional
- Clever puzzles!
- I beated the boss :D
- I liked the music
- I can see the minimalism on the theme.
This game is great. Loved the end.
I hope you place high on the rankings :)
I can't rate because I didn't submit an entry but I liked your game :)!
Great visuals! I love how you worked with simple shapes but gave them life with the illumination, particles, bloom and other effects.
I'd like to see a one player mode where each life alternates a different weapon. I played it with 2 characters at the same time (which was pretty cool too).
Also, electronic/futuristic up tempo music would fit good.
The good:
- It's fun
- I like how all the pieces (and menu letters) have physics.
- Main character facial expresion
- I like where you shot the score
What to improve:
- Give some instructions. I didn't know which character I was controlling at the beginning.
- The camera shake is too long and strong
I beat the game and I must say the level design of the last piece was total troll.
I played kitty force 10 and I recognized your art style at first glance. I loved the art on both entries.
Fun and very polished game in gameplay, graphics and music. The platforming/collecting mechanic is not original and the theme is not obvious but I see those categories weren't your target.
I liked the art, it's very polished.
I would prefer a game with more gameplay and better controls (the acceleration is slow and it slides too much).
I beat the game, I liked the story :)
Gameplay feels a little tedious to me. At the end I liked it but wandering around too long is not fun. What if the underground skeleton had some kind of vision to know where the dangerous stuff is? Maybe just some aura, not a whole spoiler.
Loved the graphics.
Fun and great music.
Loved it.
I collected a lot of stuff, it's a big level :o
You did a good job with the level geometry.
I liked the flashlight mechanic and how the camera bounces after jumping.
I wanted to run faster. I think walking slow in a monotonous environment is not fun. Maybe you should explode the floating mechanic too.
Simple mechanic but it works.
Some times I wished I could transform whenever I wanted. If you keep the auto-transform (which is cool too), there should be some feedback or rhythmic indicator to know when the transformation is coming. AI polish would be nice too (like different behaviors).
Fun mini starcraft :D I got to wave 27.
Very good advance for a 48 hours game, you should keep adding stuff :)
It crashed 2 times after playing for some time but it's ok, I played long enough to enjoy it. I'm running windows 7 and played with an xbox wireless controller if it helps.
It was very fun and the mechanic is original.
Music was a little repetitive.
Graphics are minimalist but they look really good, specially the 3D red cubes rendered as 2D coming from one dimension to another.
Very fun and I liked the 16 bits graphics.
Maybe you should mirror the ground for a smoother tiling.
I beat the toad and got to a blue screen.
At first I didn't know I had to press "x" to close dialogs, I though I was supposed to click it. Also I though the moving shadows in the sea were cloud shadows.
Controls are very disperse on the keyboard. I have to look at the keyboard to search the key I'll press.
Grindig is a big part of your game so maybe you should have focus on battles and ditch the store (collect stuff that makes you faster instead of buying upgrades?).
Pretty fun and I like the pixel art.
I beat the game and I liked it. I think this is a top 5 entry.
It has too much quality for a compo game, good job.
I liked all the small details like the footstep sounds and floating text for the instructions.
Why no PC version? I would've like to play it full screen.
You could scale the "[+]" indicators depending on the distance to the ships.
Very fun game! I beat it, it was hard but I liked the difficulty :P
Loved the pixel art.
Great job.
I like the general idea and the clean graphic design but descending and getting credits is very slow, if the whole game peace were a little faster I think it would be more fun.
Yes! I beat the game at the first try. I think I type pretty fast but it was a little hard.
I liked the feedback (sound and visuals) it feels very polished and the length of the game is good. Fun and exciting game, great entry.
PS: I remember your splash screen from other LD :)
I'm going to rate it before playing the post compo version.
It's a little unfinished, the tiles could be more complex and there should be some goal or arcade point system.
It feels very good to play. I liked the graphic feedback, it's very juicy. Very promising game, great start.
I though there were gameplay in the post compo link.
The gif looks neat! I really want to play the finished version :)
The camera makes me dizzy @_@
I got to the giant girl but I didn't know what to do next :P
Nice simple game.
I like the leader boards. Music is catchy.
I like the snes graphic style but maybe it could use some more color.
There's no back button in the credits.
It would be nice to play with 'W' and 'S' too.
It's difficult to play when the input lags so much. I press the moving keys but it takes too long to respond
At first it was confusing which click was for what but then I got used to it.
Great job with the graphics, animations are too simple but the game looks good overall.
Nice! I beat the game, it was fun.
I liked all the graphical feedback but the sound was lacking.
I see some Vlambeer influence ;)
Yay! I beat the boss :) It was fun.
I like the summoning mechanic.
The music was way too simple.
Funny.
Catchy song.
Creative use of the theme.
It reminded me of dark souls :P
I got to the boss but didn't beat it.
Graphics are the strongest aspect of your game, good job.
The game freezes after the white text on the web and pc versions. I tried pressing T, tab and all the keys you mention on the instructions.
You were right it didn't freeze, I had to move left.
I like how you are using dynamic lights with pixel art but the gameplay feels meaningless because there's not a specific objective and I didn't die once.
I'm not sure if the direction it takes after climbing a ladder is consistent but I think it should.
Good project for learning Unity but it looks very raw/unfinished.
Your game thrilled me to know where it was going and I couldn't know because it was very random. More length with more mechanics would be nice.
Loved the text download as a conclusion (I was excited to open it).
This game inspires me to do something experimental and random :)
I can see the experimental/artsy side of the concept "you can't beat death" that's why I'm rating you 5 in mood but this approach takes too much from gameplay (2 stars on fun).
I always like seeing experimental games in LD because they're more original (or at least try to be).
Oh and nice graphics :)
If you have unity pro you should experiment with camera effects like bloom, vignette or any of them.
I'm surprised. I didn't expect such a deep story. It was creative and fun.
Very polished game in every category, good job.
Good: I like the minimalistic art and particle effects you made.
Bad: Text takes too long and level design feels tiring.
My favorite entry so far. Amazing quality, great job.
I just kept spamming "solve". I love candy box so I was expecting more gameplay from this.
I appreciate the experimental/philosophical side of the game, though.
I liked the nostalgic feel (I loved Link's awakening) so the graphics and mechanic catched me.
The tree collision feels wrong. You should try using a polygon collider 2D.
Windows keeps asking me if I want to turn on sticky keys when I press shift and I can't attack. I think you should change the keys.
Using a computer reader as a voice was a great idea, it fits with the space theme very well.
I beat the boss :)
It was fun and the level of difficulty feels right.
The guitar reminds me of meat boy, I liked the music.
I won, it was fun :)
There's too much stuff going on, at first I didn't know what I was doing and I never understood the right down window information. There was a guy sleeping there but it said 0/1.
Loved the art and music. Looks great how the worm rotates when moving.
I would add a score system and difficulty scaling to make it more arcade.
Loved the music. It was fun :)
Loved the art.
Great art. The jump physics feel a little weird but I got used to it.
I like the cylindrical level design.
The mix of mechanics aren't too original but the game is definitely very polished, good job.
What a polished game. Not only the graphics are gorgeous but the game is very fun. I liked the music and SFX too.
Goal glow is excessive in my opinion.
The last level design was clever, I would've like to see more levels.
I had fun trying to collect all the folders on the "thanks for playing" screen, it could be a level :P
oh my poor keyboard D:
:P
Very similar to my game but different in many aspects. I liked it.
At first it was hard to know what I was doing, the first levels I only changed one of my directions. Maybe the instructions could be clearer or showing the key to change directions above the arrows would be a good hint.
I'm not into the dizzying camera @_@ a less exaggerated movement would be better for me.
The music was good, I liked the melody.
Thank you for your detailed feedback on my entry :)
It's fun, I like it has different upgrades.
I feel like the music doesn't fit the game but it's a good song, very catchy.
I love the art, it gives me hope as a programmer I could make something look this pretty.
The music and visuals go well together, setting a relaxed mood.
The thing I don't like are the controls. The plane is very hard and annoying to fly.
I played the post-compo version and I like the changes on the controls, I was able to collect all the orbs.
The only thing I would change is the texture of the orbes because they are the same color of the plane and it's difficult to distinguish profundity between both objects.
Great job.
I liked the abstract characters, they are simple but look very good with the animations you made.
I didn't want to kill the last woman :(
I couldn't find the way to save her.
A little sadistic but fun.
Higher resolution text would be better.
A WebGL or Windows version would've been cool.
I like the idea and I think it can be developed further to get its full potential.
My suggestion would be restarting the game a second later you get off screen. Also being drastically rotated by hitting obstacles makes it extra difficult, if it could be a more controlled/less random rotation, the challenge would be more acceptable.
Another suggestion could be making some change in the player's cube so we can easily know the current orientation (I focused more on the cube than in the big arrows in the background).
I don't know why you disabled the graphics rating, honestly I liked them.
keep it up and thanks a lot for your feedback on my entry :)
We had a similar idea, check out my game, it will be very familiar haha
Nice rainbow trail :D
Art looks simple but the face animation is actually very good.
I didn't have a clear idea of what I was doing the whole game xD
I'm impressed by the quality of the intro.
At first I didn't like killing the small bugs one by one with the pistol but after I got a bigger gun it was better.
It feels like it's lacking of level design and different enemies.
Gameplay left me wanting something more but the environment looks great and the intro sets a cinematic mood.
It's ok if you don't want to add animations but at least some feedback of what's happening would improve your game. Maybe just overlapping a sword when attacking and a shield when blocking.
I had to try it single player.
I think I fed the wrong monster xD
Fun game, I enjoyed it more once I found how to play all the mini games.
Some feedback on why the player failed could be better. For example in the stake eating contest I guess I lost because I clicked the bone but I'm not really sure. On the bunny high five I don't know why I lost.
xylr: you are right! I didn't notice xD
I'll have to leave it like this for the jam but the next iteration will have it fixed.
Thanks for your feedback :)
