I like the graphics style. The gameplay is poor.
Good job for making it in 6 hours though :)
Congrats to your son \o

mikesoylu 2012-04-23 14:51

Love the graphics & mood!

pierrec 2012-04-23 14:53

I would have loved to have you as my dad :)

toast 2012-04-23 15:58

Cute little game. He's a stubborn so-and-so, that blue circle.

fredericrp 2012-04-23 21:19

Thank you so much for your comments ! :)

strega 2012-04-25 09:32

I couldn't play the game. The blue guy never appeared. I tried refreshing multiple times.

kendja 2012-04-25 10:19

For 6 hours - it's very great. Love the pseudo-3d effect.

Sometimes my guys is go beyond the boundaries of the road and stuck there.

Also, my character moving with spurt, but all other guys moving smoothly. It is something wrong on my side, or it's planned like this?

And congrats to your son!

aaronsnoswell 2012-04-25 12:15

Gameplay is a bit odd, the controls are bizarre - but for 6 hrs, very nice! Love the graphical style and music!

fredericrp 2012-04-25 14:59

I uploaded a post compo release with more gameplay and some fixes. Try it : http://www.equilibregames.com/ld23/index2.html

>strega : that's weird, the blue guy should always be there at the beginning. I uploaded a post compo version where you can better see the blue guy : is it working on this one ?

> Kendja : The guy shouldn't be stucked behind the boundaris whith the latest release, but that's tricky to use a physic engine for that !
I didn't achieve to have the other guys moving with as many spurts as the main character, that's why. I understand that can be disappointing !

> aaronsnoswell : yes, bizarre as it is, but intended ;) (exception made with my comment just above)

Thanks for your compliments !

I love the take on movements. Some bugs on collisions, yet it's beautiful. Oh, I love the music and the graphical style too !

jedi 2012-04-25 20:42

Very good for 6 hours! Good mood.

The gameplay isn't interactive enough. It's hard to control the little guy and there is not enough room to dodge the red things. If they didn't spawn forever you could run back a bit and dodge them but they do spawn forever.

My only other thought is that this is a very bizarre representation of conception :)

jim3wg 2012-04-25 21:07

J'aime vraiment beaucoup !

daandruff 2012-04-26 15:30

Nicely done for 6 hours. I especially enjoyed the music and the atmosphere

desmarkie 2012-04-26 21:13

Cool concept and a neat message :) Happy birthday to the little one too ;)

angrygeometry 2012-04-27 01:41

happy birthday to your son. it had a nice mood/atmosphere to it, and i kind of like that method of poetry/narrative but i guess you need some sort of solid way of doing it, and i didn't feel that with this. i still liked it, as a whole.

xblinkedx 2012-04-27 07:34

Loved the mood, audio, and graphics. The gameplay wasn't that great though, it was also kindof hard to tell who you were at first.

madflame991 2012-04-27 07:41

As I see it your game is very non-digital: the handwriting-like font, the shadowy graphics, the music (piano and not chiptune) and the physics - hats off to you sir, you've made a very consistent game that induces a good mood.

thotep 2012-04-27 20:23

Interesting and impressive for a 6hr work.

datamosh 2012-04-28 20:48

Really dig the graphics! It's not exactly fun, feels most like an interactive tribute more than a videogame, but that also makes it really special and emotional. Cheers for your son! Wonder how this would be with more work on it :)

fredericrp 2012-04-30 14:14

>xBlinkedx : yes, your blue guy is a little bigger than the other, but it's hard to notice, in the post compo release, it's a slightly different color, did you tried it ?

>madflame991 : many many thanks to you, you're right, I like when a game makes you forget that it's digital

> Datamosh : I did spent a little more hours to have a little more, but that's still a <48h game and will stay like that, it could ruin the mood !

I can't write a comment for everyone but I thank you very much for your comments, you've got thanks from my son too (even if he doesn't really speak yet) !

kevinworkman 2012-05-03 01:03

"I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing it." Haha gross. Did I just play a video game as your sperm? Interesting conception (pun intended), and with a little polish and a longer "story", this could be a pretty neat little game. Well done.

oye-beto 2012-05-03 02:49

- Controls are not responsive at all. I don't know if it's my computer or what but when I press the arrow keys there's a half second delay on the move of my circle.
- I also get lost because all the circles are exactly the same.
- Game plays by itself. If I do nothing it still goes on. I'd like more interactivity.

- I liked the diffuse effect on the graphics.
- Music is the strongest aspect of this game. Did you make it?

Music is very good, did you make it?

oye-beto 2012-05-03 02:51

oops I repeated the music question :P

brighterorange 2012-05-06 16:14

If those are red blood cells what am I? Triglycerides??
I liked the mood on this one.

djcsdy 2012-05-06 22:47

It's ridiculously difficult to figure out which character you're supposed to control.

ad-edge 2012-05-07 08:04

Interesting little game, I was confused as to what circle I was controlling for most of it though, could have made it stand out in some way. Short level as well, but for 6 hours, not bad!

fredericrp 2012-05-11 21:42

>KevinWorkman ;) I know that's weird ! Thanks for the compliments

> Oye Beto : controls are made so you can only make one impulse and then wait for the next one. That's too slow on the compo version so I changed it a little in the post compo release : if you try it, you'll see it's more dynamic (is it enough ?)
I did the music, but with Garage Band, so it's more an arrangement of samples that my talent :s

> Tom 7 : I don't know what those are, but I know that's not supposed to be there ! Thanks :)

> Dan C : your character was supposed to be a different blue but I didn't have time to change it before the dead line. You have to keep your eye on it at the beginning ! It's fixed in the post compo release also.

> AD-Edge : same as above, I totally forgot I had to make it a different color before it was too late :s

Thanks for your compliments !

barigorokarl 2012-05-12 06:30

The controls are a little bit strange, but nice graphics and music. Kudos for the 6h work :-)
