Awesome! Love the feel created by the spooky music and dreamscape graphics! Reminds me soo much of beneath a steel sky.

Great! Not entirely convinced it matches the theme, but awesome none the less :)
Great! Not entirely convinced it matches the theme, but awesome none the less :) Isn't the source link meant to link to the source code? I'd love to peruse it ;P
Sorry @seagaia and @summaky, was migrating my web host today :P It should be back up again! My apologies!
Great job Bach!
Not quite sure what to make of this - perhaps post some more instructions on this page? I tried mashing the keyboard but nothing seemed to happen. The day night cycle is cool :)
Couldn't master the controls - LWJGL seems to have some issues / glitch out when running in a browser on a mac?
On my mac the mouse cursor doesn't show up (meaning I can't get past the third part of the tutorial!) Please fix this - I really really really want to try this game! From what I've seen it looks amazing! I'm a fan of the quirky controls, btw :P
Wow - if this had sound this would be amazing! I LOVE the theme you went with, and the graphics are to die for :) The opening title gave me shivers (Asylum first appears normal, then becomes more and more twisted).
I feel like the opening text / intro went on a bit too long :)
Overall love it though. Good job :)
Nice work. I like the theme you went with. The enemy AI is a bit simplistic, but otherwise good job :)
Good job - a pretty unique style of game! My game was also about ants :)
Feels like a cross between TRON and Half Life 1 :) The idea of a spherical, small world is awesome. I LOVE the fact that due to the bizarre terrain you physically have to use audio to locate incoming enemies.
Negative points: I couldn't find any mother ships :) It would also be nice to be able to tune mouse sensitivity, mine was uber sensitive, making it a bit hard to play :)
Amazing work!
Great idea for a game! Theme fits, music is perfect, sound effects are ncie and graphics are sweet :) No complaints here! I love that you can button mash, too. My final score? 566,580 :P 4/5!
Simple, but well done - good job. I like how the slant to the camera gives a sense of anticipation :P Not too sure about how it relates to the theme, but still - good job.
Nice all-round game. The humor really makes it :)
Not bad! I like the theme you went with here, and I love the fact that going outside the bounds leads to undefined behaviour - reminds me of the bugs in early versions of minecraft if you went near the edges of the world - sort of like a bug and a feature at the same time. I couldn't really figure out the scoring system. Good job!
Wow - this game is cool! Pro's:
* Amazing graphics
* Really polished finished product (the menus are great!)
* Cool 'mood' / feel to it
Con's:
* I didn't realise you need to place a territory flag to start - a little confusing
* The controls are a bit confusing - perhaps list them on this page?
Congrats - you've convinced me to have a look at Love2D :) This game is sweet! 4/5!
Nice! I like how the big red ?thing? (planet?) blocks the path of fire. Good twist on an old genere. Not sure about the theme here though. Would have beeng great to see some little civillians running around your feet getting killed :P
Also, what do you mean I can't use the arrow keys! Not everyone is left handed :P
Couldn't run it sorry - Light Weight Java Game Library isn't installed on my system - did you bundle it with your game?
Nice! Needs music and AI though! Really cool idea for a game, and I love the quote on the menu.
Nice job - I remember seeing the animation work in progress yesterday :) Good to see how it turned out. Love the use of vertical space (gripping to walls) in a platformer - don't see that often. Also love the use of lighting, and the player's belly as a light :)
Would have been better with some creepy music (and squelches in the background - it's a blood cell :P).
Awesome job.
Oh this game is so very freaking cool! I am in love with the art style you used here! There is something disturbingly satisfying about crushing the tiny, square people under my feet! I also love the "Aaaaah! it's God-ziwwa" sound effects!
Feedback:
- As others have said, hit detection is a bit odd, could perhaps be a bit more lenient.
- Other attacks would be great (perhaps a 360 degree tail whip to catch all civillians in a circle around you), or maybe a super stomp that crushes buildings around you?
- Powerups would be cool (health...)
It reminds me of several games: Atom Zombie Smasher and Death Worm are two that come to mind.
Amazing work! 4/5! Mind if I steal this idea and turn it into an Android app? ;P
This game is hard! I feel positively evil hurting those poor planets :P Music is pretty slick, too. Good work!
It was really fun! I disliked the... shocking final scenes though ;) Very funny, and a nice difficulty curve (I finished with no health left). Some music would have really made it ;)
COME HERE LITTLE VILLAGERS... BWA HA HA.
Java finished loading, then the screen just stayed blank (white)? Using Chrome on Mac Lion :( Sad - I was looking forward to trying this!
----
Update: Retried and it worked - perhaps add a preloader? WOW - this game is awesome. Hands down my favourite! Dropping a 5/5 here! Possible improvements:
* Being able to chose what orbit the satellite goes into (higher orbits -> slower speed -> less expensive)
* Music
I love how the costs are actually realistic - kind of gives a grim reality check on the space industry :P The dialog as the humans get defeated is hilarious!
AMAZING WORK!
Question - did you use a game engine? Or just write it from scratch?
I LOVE the theme you went with here. I also really like the idea of having to keep your gun primed by keeping the pressure up. It sort of feels like a resource management game as well as an action one - I like it :)
Would have been nice to have diagonal movement, and some music :)
It's cool how you can choose to either defeat the other kids, or just sneak past them to rescue the captives ;)
These graphics are incredible (in the first room, at least!) Love it! Sounds match perfectly. Gameplay was a little shaky (I also got stuck outside the first room) - but more time and you would have fixed all that. What game engine did you use?
Amazing work!
Absolutely brilliant. Hands down the best entry I have seen yet. AMAZING work! Would love to see a blog writeup of the process and things you learned. Love the art, sfx, fact that it is a html5 game. 5/5.
Damn - I wanted to play this game - the lighting looks really nice. I'm on a mac though :: @gregdevice - I think it's the same tileset, that's why.
Wow - it's not a game, but this is still really cool. Love the idea of positive vs negative interactions - and how you have no clue what that means until you try it . Art and sounds are amazing. Great job!
I quite liked this game - the tutorial didn't show for me so I found everything a bit overwhelming at the start. A nice idea thought - like Galcon, but with tower defense as well! I like it! I also really, really like the clouds puffing around each planet. Not too keen on the other graphics, but the clouds are divine! Good job!
NIce job - interesting concept for a game. Love the graphics - looks like some really good work.
Not sure if I agree that the music fits :P Nice to see some original content though! It was a little annoying on kongregate having the planet rotate every time I tried to select Farm, Factory etc. What engine are you using? Unity? And are you using blender for 3D content?
Nice idea with the inverse kinematics - the game idea is good, but I feel the implementation lacked a bit - it was kind of difficult! Also, +1 for 3D sound! I got a shock when the sound from the tug boat appeared behind me! 4/5!
Gameplay is a bit odd, the controls are bizarre - but for 6 hrs, very nice! Love the graphical style and music!
Nice job! Awesome and simple idea for a game - I love the "Keep your balance" element too! Some music and back-story would go a long way, but otherwise very polished!
Nice job - not often you see a platformer with a "flap to fly" jump system. I like it. Graphics and sound are awesome. I feel it lacked a bit in fun though :P It was also a little confusing having infinite flaps when travelling between islands, but only 4 when on the island.
Also reminded me of Tiny wings :)
Great work!
Great job! Would have been much better with music, but lots of fun nonetheless!
My eyes! They are burning! Sooo many asplosions! Love the cell-shader look you went for. The music seems to really fit, also.
Great job!
Nice job - really like it! I can see this becoming a mobile ga- oh wait ;)
Thanks for the feedback, fatSquirrel - Space is the attack button (you bite the enemy ants, just like your pickup food) :)
Thanks for the comments everyone! I'll have access to a PC tomorrow so I'll try and get a windows build up then!
This game is amazing! Love how you can't move past a smashed part of the globe - and how your own bullets contribute to the smash-ing. Humor really made it!
:( I really want to try this but am on a Mac - sad!
This is a really great game - good job!
* I kept on randomly dying 10 seconds into the game?
* It was kind of hard to tell where the UFO's are (a radar or minimap would be cool)
* Took me ages to realise the big UFO in orbit can't be hit
* What was the floating log in the sky? :P
* Controls were hard to master
That said, I think this is an AWESOME concept for a game - and one that should be expanded upon. I love several things;
* The fact that between the planet getting smaller, you gathering momentum, and jumping just as a UFO explodes, it is possible to get into orbit! This lead to some really really cool arial space battles where you have to lead your shots a long way to try and hit the UFO's. Add jetpacks or air control and this would be amazing in multiplayer!
* I love that it's possible to shoot a bullet that 'bends' around the planet and hits a UFO on the other side!
If you are interested in expanding this / reworking it into a more complete game - contact me! I'd be interested in participating! My email is my username, but at gmail :)
5 stars!
WOW - AMAZING work mate! This game was fun to play, and had me hooked on the story line! At first I was like, Oh, no, not another tron-themed ripoff, but it was really really well done :)
Feedback:
* The mouse didn't lock on my mac - meaning I had to keep moving it back to the center of the screen (a bit annoying).
* The voice acting really made the game - great work.
What font did you use for the programmer text?
AMAZING!
This game is hard! 45 seconds!!! I think I'd need at least 2 minutes! The controls take a bit of getting used to. Nice idea.
A lovely, highly polished and relaxing game that I feel I am somehow unworthy of - first I tried to kill the flowers with my fan, then I tried to attack the bees, then I started pondering the sexual implications of what I was doing, helping pollenate plants :P
Jokes aside, this game stands out from the others - in particular I love that you can rescue sprites by catching them just before they go off the screen, kind of like a second chance.
Some 'Limbo'-esque subtle animations to the background would be nice, but otherwise, an amazing job!
Very well done! 4/5!
The controls were a bit to finicky to master (too much inertia). Nice idea for the theme though. Seems a little too difficult, also :)
This is a pretty neat game! Great work! Kept me coming back for a few rounds! You really nailed the fun factor :P
Nice idea, but the Java applet continually bugged out on my mac (in chrome). I could play, but it was like the mouse coordinates were off by 200 pixels, and it kept on asking me if I wanted to kill the page.
Y U WALK SO SLOWLY!!!!
Good work on the game - I couldn't figure out how to get past the guard though :) Would be nice to see tab-completion, and previous commands (press up to bring up last command), like bash :) Great job.
The walls are far to short lived, but otherwise an interesting concept!
How did you make this on your transformer - I'm intrigued. Does it run some cut-down version of eclipse? Or did you just write code on the transformer, then copy it to a PC to compile the app? Either way, this is amazing and I want to know more!
Not bad - interesting approach to the theme. I agree with robbiehunt that it is a little hard to tell how to progress through the game.
Can't play because there's no mac build - but wanted to let you know that the title made me laugh out loud :) Nice work!
Seems like a good game - I couldn't get past the second area though! :( Impressive for a hmtl5 game - did you use a framework or write it from scratch?
Not too shabby! I like the theme you went with - the big / small idea is cool, though could use a bit more work - I think it would be better if there is a wall above your head, you don't go big at all. The controls were a bit hard to master, but fun nonetheless. Well done!
Wow dude - this is my favorite game I've played so far (out of lots!). If you added some music and polished this, I would pay money for this. I loved the opening sequence. I would like a feature where I can press and hold space bar to quickly retract the arm. Absolutely top notch!
Hi guys! Good work! The art is really cool (especially the opening screen! I also love the background music. I found this game a bit hard difficulty wise (maybe faster minions would help) - and I feel like some sound effects would have added a lot! Great job.
So. Much. Blood.
I love this game guys! I played it for a full 15 minutes :) Suggestions; on the PC I was confused at first if I was supposed to drag the frog, or just shake my mouse. Also, the audio in the actual torture part doesn't feel quite right. Things I think you did well; I love how as you get higher scores, the music builds. This mechanism was quite rewarding :) I also loved the graphics and the music in the menu (it was a nice comic break from torturing frogs :P). GREAT work. 5/5. If you worked on this a bit more I would leave it installed on my phone permanently :P
Hey! I kept trying to download, but the download fails at about 90% :(
Solid 4/4. Nice idea and graphics and music. It was a little annoying trying to crush the tiny cars though :p Maybe add lots more of them!
Solid 4/5. Nice idea and graphics and music. It was a little annoying trying to crush the tiny cars though :p Maybe add lots more of them!
Cool game mate! I love the art style :P Super cool. Some music would add a lot. The gameplay was quite balanced too - I wasn't able to defeat the castle guard :P 4/5!
Thanks guys! I didn't realise the assets folder was needed :P I've updated the link - it is now a zip folder that should work. Thanks everyone, I look forward to playing your games!
Great game - quite fun and the gameplay, visuals and music are sublime. The bullets in combat mode didn't seem to hurt me at all? Not sure if that was a bug. I feel like the love metaphor was taken a bit too far too :P 4/5!
Love the game idea and the gameplay is quite slick. For 1 player you really need an AI though. It would also be nice with some music and non-programmer art :P Great job!
Solid 5/5! Love it!
Hey! Same with me - pressed lots of keys and it wouldn't move past the title screen :( Using windows 10 btw. Please fix so I can try :P
Hey I tried to download this tonight but the link didn't work :( Put it back so I can have a look?
Hey mate. Nice work - I like the idea and the art is kind of cool. The controls were a little hard to get used to, and some sounds would have added a lot. Great effort! Hope to see you at the next jam :)
Hi! Great effort. I like the theme that you went with. I found it a bit hard to tell where the obstacles were, and I kept eating soldiers, then getting hit by their torch beams even though they were dead :P Good job.
Hi guys. It was a bit annoying having to install this game, rather than just a standalone executable. Nice idea and the mood/style was kind of cool - I liked your use of parallax. My monster's face didn't appear until the third time I died - it was just a speech bubble before that. Not sure if that was intentional or not :P
Hi guys. seems like an interesting idea, but I couldn't figure out the mechanics of the square rock things! I couldn't finish any of the levels :(
Seems nice, sad that the PC version doesn't work as well as mobile though :P
Cool concept guys :) And good work getting that much 3D content done in such a short time! I had a bug where my mouse position didn't line up with the GUI buttons - I had to move the mouse to the left of the buttons to get it to click. Love the idea. Thanks for participating.
Great mood, music and graphics guys! Unfortunately I couldn't figure out some of the endings and the story line wasn't very clear to me. The pixel art font on the news paper was a little too small to read!
Great work guys. I love your idea but I also couldn't figure out what to do once I transformed. Did you really make all the assets in the 48hrs? That's awesome.
Good job guys. No sound is a bit sad though. I like your idea and the art is kinda cool. It was annoying that I couldn't see the bottom floor when standing on the lowest platform (so I had to keep jumping down). I couldn't quite jump up to the tunnel on the top right too. Was that a secret zone? Thanks for participating!!!
5/5 mate :) Well done! Only some music would have made this better :P
