LD23 — Tiny World

Microbial by LukeRissacher 2012-04-23T09:15:00

Cant play it, download XNA files, already have then but selected repair...Still unable to play. Doctor Watson didnt like it, the program dont even start :(

Microbial by LukeRissacher 2012-04-23T10:43:00

tried .net framework....same as XNA, already have but still repaired. Problem persist.

This time checked info error, and dont know if this info can help, but:
EventType: cle20r3 P3:4f94a1ef P4: microsoft.xna.framework P5: 4.0.0.0 P6: 4c72cc22 P7:3ed P8:63 P9: system.argumentoutofrange

Sounds like a bad index or an array too short? Maybe tried to access zero position of empty array?

Microbial by LukeRissacher 2012-04-24T07:30:00

Ok, talked with Luke on em@il. Now at least know where to find. We will have a fix soon (i hope :D)

Congratulations for first entry, good one :)

My feedback, delete enemies when changing areas. I found very annoying getting back to a map and found 20 enemies :)

As far as i know, thats part of java. Slick is linked on manifiest and applet loader should take care of lwjgl needs.
If you try to run it as program, need to give natives location (no need to give class, jar manifiest already have).

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-23T13:39:00

If you need to play it as program by any means, if you uncompress ???_natives.jar.lzma twice (lzma and jar) in the same directory, you will be able to lauch the program with double click on LD23-TinyWorld.jar

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-24T06:54:00

Cant upgrade?? OPSSSSSSSSSSSS >_<
Sorry guys, big mistake >_< CANT upgrade on the middle of level >_< The only moment you can do it is when select level is available >_< SORRY
I better add this to entry >_<

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-24T11:17:00

Just use appletloader.html file. Game should load properly (you must accept the applet signature, otherwise applet will decline perssions and game wont start).

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-24T18:51:00

Netmute, what error/exception/whatever java throw?

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-25T08:35:00

This is a browser game (applet), but dont have server to put it.

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-25T13:06:00

Thx for the info Orgarus.

The map actually center on player-zombi, while keeping all the map in window, but since the map is actually very short it you see all the map :).

But for next time, ill make some effect or something. Maybe a counting or something. But thats for next ld :)

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-25T20:30:00

Kayamon: very strange.

Applet should handle natives and should work properly.
jar need natives to run directly, if you can descompress lzma file (zip file) and then jar file into the same dir. Thats enought for the game jar to run directly.

It already happened to some ppl that AppletLoader didnt work properly. I need more info to fix it, all computers i tried it worked properly :(

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-25T20:31:00

sorry, not lzma file, your natives.jar.lzma file

Zombie Arena TinyWorld by Shephiroth 2012-04-26T08:16:00

My apologies, you are right hulahulahest. I probably should remove the entry, but dont know how :(

Sun Save World by castor 2012-04-25T19:40:00

scored 335, nice idea but boring at the same time. The hardcore use of every plant limit the score. Once you know how, you just follow your man along the map and wait for it to die when no food on map >_<

Bioclash by gammabeam 2012-04-27T10:59:00

This is the perfect example where great ideas even if simple reach the players. just need a bit of music :)
Im not sure if its a bug, but upgrades dont work. My "unit" didnt attack harder or have more hp when upgrade.

Once you know to move a ship to th eartic, the game become too easy (enemies almost killed themself while building workers).
You must set max workers. from 1 to 10 workers take the same time as 10 to 100. Once you get 100, you are unstoppable

$ales by Sanguine 2012-04-24T07:40:00

This remember me actually to POC game, where you buy a ship and start buying/selling cargo to get money.
Probably the "Ports Of Call" named before :)

Tiny Oblique World by headchant 2012-04-23T20:56:00

The idea seems good, but the time flow is too fast.

Cant manage to survive first day. If send them to get water, cant build house in time.

Tiny Conflict by Redream 2012-04-24T06:50:00

Hey, not to bother, but can i ask you what "gdx-natives.jar" is?? Why renamed all lwjgl natives??

Nom Nom? by dastry 2012-04-24T09:25:00

This looks a copy of a game i saw last time ago in a flash game page. How was its name??? Not cosmic crush, i cant find it, before cosmic there were another with rectangle faces. Smile face = you can eat, angry faces = they eat you.

Nom Nom? by dastry 2012-04-24T11:21:00

Finally found the game, Hungry Blocks :)

Rockland by Jeroenimoo0 2012-04-23T11:23:00

you had a problem with natives there. For mac player, you need to get the good natives .so
Both systems mac and linux use .so files, but natives are not the same.
Hope you didnt mixed them and grabbed all linux natives.

Gene Game by Split82 2012-08-30T20:40:00

Really good entry. As some ppl said, remember me to space chem, but still, 48 hours, congratulations :)

The controls are easy if you played space chem, but hard to figure out all of them. The game dont explain the "repeat last movement" movement.

In the post-compo version you changed the fusion/defusion turn-order, and it actually happen after each movement. I like the compo version, when you have to play with that variable too.

Cant vote because didnt upload my game (didnt have time) but once again, good job :)
