Couldn't run it sorry - Light Weight Java Game Library isn't installed on my system - did you bundle it with your game?

shephiroth 2012-04-23 11:37

As far as i know, thats part of java. Slick is linked on manifiest and applet loader should take care of lwjgl needs.
If you try to run it as program, need to give natives location (no need to give class, jar manifiest already have).

unicornpooping 2012-04-23 12:04

Make sure to to read instructions! Open the appletloader.html file. I didn't read at first.

shephiroth 2012-04-23 13:39

If you need to play it as program by any means, if you uncompress ???_natives.jar.lzma twice (lzma and jar) in the same directory, you will be able to lauch the program with double click on LD23-TinyWorld.jar

Couldn't buy any items ...

riamudimentis 2012-04-23 21:29

Great gameplay, except I couldn't figure out how to update the weapons. The little shooting sounds were starting to grate on my nerves. The Zombies are adorable, but the background doesn't look quite finished. As I said, the interface had me confused. But, I had lots of fun playing it! Thanks!

m-gryko85 2012-04-23 21:30

At first I was like o_O but then after couple of minutes it become addicted to kill those zombies :)
Couldn't pass 3 level - its mayhem (in good meaning)
Sound is annoing.

lukerissacher 2012-04-24 06:14

Nice zombie sprites. I got almost through level 2 and died. The weapon/defense upgrades didn't work for me unfortunately, even though I had enough gold. Realtime RPG mechanics were kinda cool.

(side note - Shephiroth, I left a comment for you on the Microbial game page)

shephiroth 2012-04-24 06:54

Cant upgrade?? OPSSSSSSSSSSSS >_<
Sorry guys, big mistake >_< CANT upgrade on the middle of level >_< The only moment you can do it is when select level is available >_< SORRY
I better add this to entry >_<

joshua 2012-04-24 10:00

Can't seem to get it to work... Sorry.

shephiroth 2012-04-24 11:17

Just use appletloader.html file. Game should load properly (you must accept the applet signature, otherwise applet will decline perssions and game wont start).

netmute 2012-04-24 11:34

Couldn't get it to run on my Mac :(

shephiroth 2012-04-24 18:51

Netmute, what error/exception/whatever java throw?

devwil 2012-04-24 22:45

***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

Please consider making a browser game next time.

shephiroth 2012-04-25 08:35

This is a browser game (applet), but dont have server to put it.

orgarus 2012-04-25 09:28

Hi!
Except for the GUI the graphics are cool (molan los zombies :P, they are very well done).
You say "Due technical error, you can only upgrade while on selecting level" in my opinion this way is fine, I would wait to the end of level (as it happens now). Fight now evolve later.
Another thing that I think you must consider is at the beginning of the level to focus the player view on his zombie, it took me a few seconds (about two :D)to find what my zombie was ¿maybe changing its color?
Overall a good game that makes me remember me the classic Butasan!
Enhorabuena!

shephiroth 2012-04-25 13:06

Thx for the info Orgarus.

The map actually center on player-zombi, while keeping all the map in window, but since the map is actually very short it you see all the map :).

But for next time, ill make some effect or something. Maybe a counting or something. But thats for next ld :)

kayamon 2012-04-25 20:22

This didn't seem to want to run for me (no error given, it just wouldn't display in the applet html, and wouldn't launch from the jar directly).

tl;dr java is many things, but easy to run is not one of them.

shephiroth 2012-04-25 20:30

Kayamon: very strange.

Applet should handle natives and should work properly.
jar need natives to run directly, if you can descompress lzma file (zip file) and then jar file into the same dir. Thats enought for the game jar to run directly.

It already happened to some ppl that AppletLoader didnt work properly. I need more info to fix it, all computers i tried it worked properly :(

shephiroth 2012-04-25 20:31

sorry, not lzma file, your natives.jar.lzma file

hulahulahest 2012-04-25 21:06

The game is very repetitive, and I can't seem to buy upgrades. The audio is too loud, and it screws with color balance on my monitor.

Aside from everything else, though, I call shenanigans on this entry. You didn't draw those zombie sprites; or, alternately, if you DID draw them, you didn't draw them for this competition. I'm betting on the former, but either one is against the rules.

The sprites appeared at least as early as a month ago, posted by someone calling himself Kazzador on RPGMakerWeb: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/683-kazzadors-additional-generator-parts-sprites/

hempuli 2012-04-25 21:08

You could at least have acknowledged about using sprites that are either not your own or made before the compo. I'll hold my vote for now.

shephiroth 2012-04-26 08:16

My apologies, you are right hulahulahest. I probably should remove the entry, but dont know how :(

vaelzan 2012-04-26 21:39

Could not get this game to run sorry :(

summaky 2012-04-28 10:48

Um, I got bored pretty fast with this game; it is too repetitive and the random movement of the other zombies doesn't help a little bit at that. I also don't see how this fits in the theme, sorry.

The graphics are cool.

robcozzens 2012-05-06 00:57

It said it couldn't be launched.

rvmook 2012-05-11 11:25

Too bad the upgrade in level bug wasn't fixed in your compo version. Sound was a bit harsh but I liked the idea and had fun playing it.
