Quite an interesting twist on a typical match 3 game. I definitely like the concept.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD23 → SUBPIXEL

ah, so that's how my monitor works!
Loved the idea, great take on the theme!
A very interesting way to do this type of game, and it was fun for a while. I just have one problem with it, and it is that every time I try I run out of one piece at the end, and since I only have a one in three chance to get it, I keep getting more and more of the pieces I don't need, so the entire board is greens and blues.
Great game! But it has 1 problem: When I shoot a pixel in the nothing, the game freezes.
This is fantastic. I'd have loved a fixed number of pieces per round (penalty for what is left on the board when you run out), then give a new board for the next round etc... Maybe add a timer as well. The ability to lose (and eventually you'll always lose) would give it some nice re-playability.
Not bad! I like the theme you went with here, and I love the fact that going outside the bounds leads to undefined behaviour - reminds me of the bugs in early versions of minecraft if you went near the edges of the world - sort of like a bug and a feature at the same time. I couldn't really figure out the scoring system. Good job!
Really cool! Too bad it goes on forever. Would really enjoy some kind of limiting gameplay.
*Updated the description a little, listed development tools.
Thank you all for your comments. I am aware of these problems and I'll definitely work on these issues after the judging is complete.
NefariousZhen, great suggestions! Could possibly turn this into something like level-based puzzles instead of randomly-generated, so you would have to figure out what to place where to complete the level.
"Died" when I shot past the center, I assume my subpixel is still traveling somewhere off-screen... Cool idea!
If you push it too far they go off screen and go over each other. Other than that, it was pretty good, but it needs a way to win.
Interesting ideas here. I didn't realize it was a Match 3 at first.
Nice concept. I didn't realize I could move the shooter to the other sides at first. Also, it's sometimes hard to tell where the pixels will end up when they push the other pixels. I think if you added a slight delay after the pixels move into place before they disappear, it might help players visualize what's happening better.
Good match-3 game, but I wish there were a way to win; as it is, it always gives me the sub-pixel color I don't need! :-D
Cool puzzle concept, liked the retro sfx as well.
Loved the look of this one
Cool style, it would be rad if you could clear the grid with combos. I got a score of 63 when I finally got the hang of it. Nice work!
Nice kind of colour matching game!
The controls could be a bit easier, without mouse scrolling - by moving the mouse in the place you want the brick to start.
As others have said, a little pause (and maybe a flash/fade out) of blocks before they disappear would help people visualise what's going on. Also, if you fire a block and use the scroll wheel before if hits it will fly off into the abyss and you'll have to restart. Otherwise I really enjoyed this, and thought it was an original take on things.
Noooo! I'm red-green colorblind. It's all one color to me. Looks snazzy, though.
