LD20 — It's Dangerous to Go Alone! Take This!

The Legend of Old Man by eli 2011-05-02T02:50:00

Great one!

The Last Survivor by Benn 2011-05-02T13:11:00

Nice gameplay, played it till the end!

Multiplayer Zombie Garden Adventure by goffmog 2011-05-02T03:03:00

I really like the idea, even though it lacks a little bit feedback (e.g., didn't know if I hit a zombie or not).

Innocence by LegacyCrono 2011-05-02T10:10:00

Haha, yes, very hard. Could not play more than a few seconds, either. ;)
Nice nonetheless.

Rainy Day by Moops 2011-05-02T21:21:00

The theme isn't in it and the gameplay is just confusing. If that was you intention, well, you succeeded. ;) I like the style of graphics nonetheless (5/5 stars)!

Das Sad by Zemmi 2011-05-02T13:26:00

Interesting concept! Can't find the relation to the theme, though. ;)

Space Danger by Mr. Wonko 2011-05-23T14:26:00

Gave me a BSOD. :( (Win 7)

Tri by ratking 2011-05-02T02:57:00

Thanks to you all! matthias, when in the game did you get motion sickness?

Tri by ratking 2011-05-02T15:11:00

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
@Raspadsistema: You're right that this should be customizable. BTW, I think mouse sensitivity is bad on Mac, do you use one?
@Stalker_23b: You can use the scrollwheel, too. But the controls aren't optimal, I know. I wanted to have it like Portal where the two mouse buttons control a portal each. But then I would have a three button mouse as requirement and I didn't want that.
matthias_zarzecki: Ah, that's why I felt so dizzy when developing it. ;)

Take It Take It Take This by Rikkard 2011-05-02T10:20:00

I laughed!

Heroic Cat! by Frib 2011-05-02T03:25:00

Very nice puzzles and story idea! But I really dislike the music and the fact that pressing escape just throws you out of the game.

Overdead by vvheris 2011-05-10T12:05:00

I talked on the IRC channel about this and the answer is: Ludum Dare is a game making contest, not a game coding contest. So, RPG maker is allowed.

Kokoriki for Ludum Dare by adeluiz 2011-05-03T12:17:00

Interesting gameplay idea, but as DrPetter suggested you should increase the difficulty slowly (bees taking hits, own hitpoints, whatever). The sound could be a little bit more fitting, too.
But I liked the atmosphere (bees in the night, what's not to like?), and the theme was served well. :)

LD21 — Escape

DrPetterLD21 by DrPetter 2011-08-23T15:41:00

I always liked games with gravity change, and this one is no exception. A shame there is no sound.

Escausage by jplur 2011-09-02T20:46:00

If I weren't so full right now this game would have made me hungry. ;-) Nice game idea, but at some point too frustrating / uncontrollable so I ragequit.

Horseback Chase by pekuja 2011-08-22T07:57:00

Nice, solid gameplay, even though I wished for constant fire! ;) Do you plan to extend it in the jam?

The Blueprints by recursor 2011-08-31T20:19:00

Hey, I love stealth games! Although I wish the AI would be a tiny bit better - after being discovered all you have to do is running behind a wall. After being back to normal guards don't do anything. But of course this way it's good casual stealth gameplay (even killing the guards works fine!), because you don't start right from the beginning after being hitten.
Good work! I'd like to see this explored and made into a more deep game!

Abigail's Descent by Cosmologicon 2011-08-23T22:29:00

Splendid game, good job! Reminds me of an old C64 game ... don't remember the name. :(
The only thing I don't like is that the gray characters don't fit with the 3D background, but the overall presentation is superb!

McPixel by Sos 2011-08-22T08:11:00

I liked the special ending really really really much!

McPixel by Sos 2011-08-24T21:23:00

I can't stop giggling! Of course, this is the funniest entry I played so far.
Main criticism of course is the theme (rescuing the situation is NOT escape :-P), but, who the fuck cares?

Fragmentation by Riley Adams 2011-08-22T20:39:00

Would have given more on "Overall" if I wouldn't fall out of the level at the end ... looks broken, sorry.

Escape from Ludum Dare by AbelToy 2011-08-22T11:33:00

188.617 seconds, yay!

Towering Inferno by tenpn 2011-09-03T16:06:00

This one is really great! Just some minor complaints: You use the Axe with X, but it is marked as "(A)xe" - this may be the reason why some people think it doesn't work. Also, the orange @ is nearly invisible on the gray tiles, and at the beginning of a level I have to search it with eagle eyes. This is a bit frustrating.
But altogether a great idea. Please work on it some more, so it isn't just luck if a level is beatable or not. :-)

Towering Inferno by tenpn 2011-09-03T16:07:00

Oh, and it would be nice if the movement wasn't so slow. It would be cool if you could move faster by holding the key.

displaced by Klare 2011-09-07T18:43:00

Nicely done, really - I dig games with story. Somehow it was a little bit too monochromatic for me, but that's okay.

Earth Escape by Vladp995 2011-08-23T20:03:00

Nice game, very solid. But the intro is hideous, perhaps text-only would have been better ... ;)

26 Prisoners by Devenger 2011-08-24T20:55:00

"Here, you cannot save both of them." - Well, I could! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10650964/_trash/LD21/devenger.jpg ;-)

One of the best games of LD21 I played so far, good job! (Although it's a bit too hard for me.)

Dark Acre Jack's "Escapology" by Dark Acre Jack 2011-08-30T14:52:00

I love this game idea, and I concur - more more more! And then, please, let the magician explain his tricks! ;-)

Rainbow Jail by Benjamin 2011-08-23T18:51:00

Nice idea and concept and execution! Really top notch!

But it really is too hard, from the beginning. (Or it isn't too hard but just "too much" - try to reduce the amount of blocks in the first levels, that should help.)

Escape! by DivideByZero 2011-09-04T21:59:00

Installer is a big no-no ... and with this kind of gameplay and presentation, you could have learned and used Flash in the 48 hours. ;-)
Perhaps it would be cool if the chips would fly and bounce off the walls, that would be something new.

Mindbane by LegacyCrono 2011-08-25T08:57:00

Really, this is better than VVVVVV!

Poor Ball by Fififox 2011-08-23T22:20:00

Nice game, although it doesn't motivate very long.
Perhaps you could try some variations, like a ball with gravity, or drawing lines instead of just placing boxes.

End of file by FireSlash 2011-09-12T17:08:00

Solid gameplay and implementation, I like it. Too bad I suck at this kind of games, so I didn't play it through. Also, I don't like respawning enemies ...
A little bit more variety would be nice.

Escape Artist by johnfn 2011-09-08T08:33:00

Great game, one of my favorites so far. Good graphics, music, and - of course - gameplay.
Seems like I died too often (I'm bad at platformers) - the game just exited with an error suddenly after I was hit by an enemy. Here is the log:

The Shadows Hunger by Octoborg 2011-09-02T15:21:00

Nice little game which noone should underestimate.
But I have problems with the bomb too. First, running into the explosion after the Boom shouldn't kill me (it doesn't feel natural). Second, it's sad that you lose the bomb if you die and the bomb was ticking on the floor.
But overall nice work!

Bunnies, Back Into Your Cage! by ratking 2011-08-22T09:35:00

Thanks for playing!

@uuav That's why I made two modes ... press "2" and you won't pick up and drop blocks any more. Press "1" and everything is back to normal.

@RandomMOO Yeah, I also had some other / more ideas for the game, but time was too short as I started late with this. I did something with Unity3D, got frustrated, and much later used Flash/Flashdevelop.
Sorry for the bad controls, I worked hard on them and they still are not perfect. :-(

Bunnies, Back Into Your Cage! by ratking 2011-08-22T18:24:00

Cool, more feedback! <3 you guys!

@ointment The game was never meant to be a classic platformer. The controls probably feel awkward because you can't accept that they the movement is per-block only (with interpolation for the eye candy).
BTW, this comes from the fact that I planned the game to be a "PixelCraft", where everything really is a pixel. ;)

@daandruff @TheGrieve Thanks!

Bunnies, Back Into Your Cage! by ratking 2011-08-22T21:13:00

@Andrew The rabbits have escaped and you have to recapture them!

Well, but it's true. I started Ludum Dare with Unity3D and was frustrated with my project. So saturday evening I opened FlashDevelop without any real plan and started coding. This time I began to create something more fun, but the theme lacked. So I confess it really is tacked later on, sorry.

Bunnies, Back Into Your Cage! by ratking 2011-08-23T08:48:00

@JohanAR You're right!
I changed the controls in the Kongregate version, please tell me if you find them to be better now.

Bunnies, Back Into Your Cage! by ratking 2011-08-23T13:48:00

@mes Sorry to hear that. Did you try the Kongregate version, too?

@matthias_zarzecki Hey, we should bundle our games and make a "Humble Oh Noes Bundle"!

Bunnies, Back Into Your Cage! by ratking 2011-08-24T17:57:00

Yay, more feedback! Thanks to you all! Even though nobody likes the controls ... ;)

@FifiFox: I just was very frustrated with my progress and motivation was pretty low sometimes. I just couldn't write anything even if I had to. Sorry! Also, posting a blog entry always seems a little bit like a timewaster, because a) you lose time you could spend on the game and b) I need extra long because English isn't my native language and I always have to look-up words and so on.

@N0_Named_Guy Yeah, in hindsight level reset wasn't the best idea. The game isn't very punishing overall, so I thought it would be okay I guess.

Dot Matrix by AJMilsom 2011-08-23T19:25:00

Cool, I'm a hero!

Somehow I randomly used the buttons and I still beat the game. ;) Perhaps some more conflicts/obstacles/gameplayelements? Also, it would be nice if the teleporter beams would be more visible.

Dude Running From an Explosion by naxum 2011-09-10T08:58:00

I just couldn't get past one passage, where the only alley was one block high ... I got stuck (jumping didn't help) and had to die. :-(
Other than that, nice style and solid gameplay.

Red Rover by d_m 2011-08-22T20:07:00

Give me windows version please. :)

Es' Cape by EncryptedShadow 2011-09-03T15:52:00

Nice little game, but even it was made in only 11 hours I'd like to see some more stuff (e.g., animated eyes or a moving landscape). Please change the keys for the introduction, I hate having the Num key activated. ;-)

Tools by Sanguine 2011-09-05T07:21:00

Cool game, I like the general idea very much.
I concur, the trading is a little bit tiresome as they always want things from me I don't have. Also, I traded a battery - I had two of them - with a toothbrush, and suddenly I had two toothbrushes and no battery. This shouldn't happen ...
I didn't craft anything, unfortunately, as all my attempts failed. Are the recipes that silly, or am I that stupid? :-)
Altogether I'm eager to see the Flash version with graphics!

Prison Break by hamster_mk_4 2011-08-23T22:15:00

Very good entry, I liked it.
The only bad thing is the sound of the gun. But 5/5 for Theme and Graphics!

Cave Runner by DecsterB 2011-09-07T17:16:00

Cute little game, I even made it with 20000 gold. ;-)
I liked the boomerang sword, and with some music and a more animated dragon (at least for the fireball - could be good for some visual feedback) and better collision (I ran into the boxes even though I didn't touch them for sure), i.e. polish, this could be a good game for smartphones.

Road to Escape by Ataverti 2011-09-04T22:16:00

Nice game, although nothing new. The contrast could be better, I'm dying too soon because I can't see stuff. ;-)
I like the general setting though. There are too few games where you play a skeleton on a street. This is something you should explore more!

Shapechanger (incomplete) by Goldendice 2011-09-05T07:28:00

I think it would have been more than enough of a game if I could see the changes I make as a shapeshifter. :-) Nice music, of course, and the story begins promising.
So don't stop, continue working on it!

Shotgun Man Will Shoot You by kirbytails7 2011-08-22T20:32:00

Yeah, couldn't play it either, sorry.

Prison Escapor by ZenithSal 2011-09-07T16:53:00

Nice idea for a game, but too bad the execution lacks a bit. For instance, having only three lives/tries is really unnecessary for such a game. Especially because you sometimes just can't prevent losing the level because you don't know what the map looks like and inevitably will run into a guard. Who can catch you instantly.
Without this, this could be an outstanding game, really!

MageRunner by Toby Pinder 2011-08-22T21:00:00

Hmm ... the beginning is tedious (registration with captcha) and the animations of the boxes are just timewasting. It doesn't help that the game hasn't any graphics nor story (calling your red box enemy "red box" doesn't help my imagination). Also, it's kind of sad that the labyrinth really is just a maze. Thinking of roguelikes I'd like to see some more interesting room-corridor-constructs.
As a whole there isn't any reason for me to play the game further. Sorry!

Soul Hellscape by Rudy 2011-08-24T21:14:00

That's really cool! A complex, deep and yet complete sandbox game! Great job done here!
The only problem is the high resolution or too small objects. I once had at least 10 souls following my light beam, and I led them all to a Hellrose because I thought it would be the Gate of Hell. ;-) Well, clearly my mistake, but I think setting the contrast a little bit higher and zooming in would help to make this an outstanding game!

Jailed by the Ministry of Project Management by tcstyle 2011-08-24T14:04:00

Hey, this is a very good idea, congrats!
It's a bit lacking on the tactical side, as you can't see everything from the beginning and getting new food is too random ... but I played it several times, which tells something. (I also beat the "Insane" mode, which wasn't much harder than the other modes.)
The only thing I didn't like was the graphics, or better, the choice of colours. The music is cheap, but sets the atmosphere perfectly ... but the bright ground just doesn't fit. If you would fix that + more interactivity / tactical gameplay, it would become a nice little coffe break game. :-)

Jailed by the Ministry of Project Management by tcstyle 2011-08-24T14:05:00

Also, don't use "any key" for continuing. Make buttons or make it spacebar-only. I used my volume keys and the game just skipped the intro, which is annoying.

The Grind by Deraj 2011-08-22T20:45:00

Wish there was a way to work off the TO-DOs! ;)

Reveal by offwhitefox 2011-08-22T14:54:00

Unity3D does 64 bit .exes?

I'm in a room full of posters and don't know where to go. :(

EscapeOut by David S. Gallant 2011-08-24T13:31:00

Thanks for this game experience. :-)

Who let the robots out? by wallacoloo 2011-08-23T19:09:00

Very complex game, huh. I like the building aspect of it, but the presentation is lacking a bit. There is seldom feedback for my actions (particles! sounds!), and the tiles are not so nice to look at - and there are so many of them ...
Perhaps zooming in a bit would be cool? Having a tutorial is great BTW, although the font was too small.

Escape Velocity by Mark Ffrench 2011-08-23T22:06:00

Nice 3D effect!
The gameplay reminded me of those old handheld electronic games with vacuum fluorescent displays. :)

Lava Tsunami of Doom by Shot 2011-08-31T20:02:00

I played it on Opera ... feels like a good game already, but when I leftclick the player graphics disappear and somehow I'm dead (Distance counter stops). Don't tell me the only thing I can shoot is myself? :)

Saharan Scurry by Tubbimora 2011-09-11T21:31:00

Very straightforward game, not bad.
But it's a little bit too hard - would be nice if the tanks wouldn't make so many damage, or at least give us some medpacks.

Mass Escape by kumber 2011-08-31T21:38:00

Everything I wanted to say is already in the comments. :P
So, this is too random, of course, but not "good" random like in a color-matching game, but bad random, so that the game punishes you just because of bad luck.
But somehow this is a nice gameplay. I think I would ditch the randomness as a whole and just make levels with different layouts and times spawnings. Of course, this would need some more tidbits, like guards wandering around which you may not knock down. Or so.

Escape the Brothel by e-vinyl 2011-09-10T09:23:00

Nice start for a full game!
One bug I spotted: You can get the key for the window twice, if you look under the bed again, after opening the window.

Escape the Zombie Horde by Spoonweaver 2011-08-23T15:54:00

Interesting concept, but it severely lacks interaction. Having the player to make choices before the game even starts never is a good design choice, IMHO. Also, I can't see how much I bought the different items before the game starts. It just isn't very rewarding. :(
Other than that, I like the general idea, and somehow the atmosphere.

The Great Unescape by geckojsc 2011-08-24T14:16:00

Hey, you've got a great game here! Too bad it'*s too hard for me, the Checkpoint thing would be awesome. Sound problems here, too.

The Great Unescape by geckojsc 2011-08-24T16:32:00

BTW, I downloaded the source and compiled it myself, sounds is good there. Seems to be a browser thing. Perhaps you should add an index.html?

Heist by Orz 2011-09-02T15:03:00

Interesting game, but it needs pixelperfect collision ... lost the game although no laser touch me. Still, great idea!

Mouse Trap by N0_Named_Guy 2011-08-24T21:20:00

A mouse trying to escape - a classic! :-)
Technical a little bit wonky (sometimes I see black lines of pixels between the tiles) and graphics could be more interesting (e.g., tiles with textures, especially most on the screen is darkness). Hopefully next Ludum Dare you will have more time to add some more gameplay elements, "Mouse Trap" would have deserved it!

Mazes & Demons by Doft 2011-08-30T13:42:00

Good game, would be nice of there was a scaling option (in order to have a bigger window). Walking through mazes isn't my thing though, I like rooms and corridors more. :)

The Getaway Car by KISTech 2011-09-07T17:08:00

Slowing the car down really is unnecessary. Other than that, some visual hints for the exit would be nice.
But nice, a micro GTA ... :-)

The Accidental Adventure of Jim by MattRB 2011-08-23T18:31:00

The idea of playing a mini game in order to defeat an enemy is nice, but the game itself (Pong) is just too slow. Also, the ugly endboss(?) is unbeatable, more or less. Dunno, I stopped trying, sorry.
First I thought you have to escape the dungeon, but then the ugly guy said something about a princess, so I think you missed the theme. ;)
Fazit: It would have been nice if you had some more polish in it, it just feels incomplete as a whole. Which is said, because I like Dungeon Crawlers. :)

Escape the game! by TheChriskage 2011-08-22T21:09:00

Yay, four games in a row. All of them nothing new, but nicely done. I enjoyed this one. The idea with the exit code is nice, even though I would have done it with more overall story.
Bummer there is no sound!

Dungeon Exit by angrygeometry 2011-08-23T19:58:00

Couldn't beat it. :(

Cube Collapse by Martin Fasterholdt 2011-08-22T14:31:00

The idea is great, but sadly I don't see much connection to the theme. :-]

Charge by thasc 2011-08-23T19:38:00

Interesting idea (reminded me of Osmos), but the randomness threw me off. It feels very uncontrollable. Other than that, I liked the overall presentation and style.

Escape - Forest 2012 by Chaoslab 2011-09-02T20:39:00

This was the most psychedelic text adventure I ever played. The music didn't work here, too, but I played it in WinAmp.

Stupid Escape game by Bognet Team 2011-09-05T07:01:00

Hmm, feels more like joke game with advertisement for your EpicWorld site ...
Nonetheless, the collision with walls needs works, but I like how forgiving the game is when you die. Overall it could be much harder, the last level doesn't even have enemies. :-?
BTW, why do I have to enter my name when the protagonist's name is Bob anyway?

Rescue Support by Accidental Rebel 2011-09-07T18:52:00

This is a good game, well done. Somehow I think it even would be much better with real levels and without endless mode. And I often just cannot rescue the little blue guys, so the "Died" counter doesn't make much sense in this case, as they get constantly respawned. (Ditto for the "Killed".)
Other than that, great achievement, try to make a full game out of it!

Thruster by sorceress 2011-08-22T20:05:00

Solid execution overall, but not much fun - sorry. Perhaps I'm just bad at such games. ;)

Bob's Escape by Tainted_Code 2011-09-02T20:07:00

Very nice platformer with a twist and a good pace. The graphics could need some improvement (but not much), but the music is cool. I don't think I would have implemented an ending like this, though. ;-)

Globular Prisonbreak! by Edsploration 2011-08-31T12:58:00

The game is cool for a first LD entry and you should continue working on it.
Especially because this is a very original idea. The first time I started it (without reading the manual), I thought it's some kind of Tetris/DrMario/etc. kind of game (of course, I didn't know what to do, e.g. that I have to escape through the hole in the north). But after reading the description I saw that there is more to it.

TBH, two things can be improved: 1) The rate the gnomes are shooting from every side is too high, and it destroys the tactical potential the game has. 2) I think it's a little bit strange that the color of the floor defines the color of the next blob. Why didn't you just let the gnomes shoot different colored blobs? Well, of course, this would change the gameplay, so I don't know if you already considered it.

These are my thoughts to it.

Escape The Overgrowth by brachyonic 2011-09-02T21:12:00

Well, too bad you didn't deliver an executable or anything finished. ;-) I like the idea, though.

Escape! by ben1066 2011-09-04T22:08:00

Oy, that was a tedious experience. At least I played it through! The step sound really is horrible, but I liked the atmospheric music. Graphics are good enough, too.

My Pro-Tipp: If you're going for a long and sometimes boring game experience with many dead-ends, just add a little bit story, e.g. some text fragments here and there and in every blind alley. It makes the game instantly artsy, because people get something for their efforts. Also it wouldn't be hard to implement. :-)

Ascape by oldtopman 2011-09-02T20:55:00

Sorry, the source code was funnier than the game. ;-)

AWAYGET by mklee 2011-08-23T15:59:00

Bravo, nice game! Wish it would become faster over the time, and there would be some background music, but as a whole a nice and complete game!

Legendary Lava Escape by speciesUnknown 2011-08-23T14:58:00

The lack of lighting/shadows makes the game pretty hard. :-/

LD22 — Alone

Chromboid by pekuja 2011-12-20T09:37:00

Great atmosphere, but sadly not much to do here. Worked flawlessy on my PC!

Leave my Lettuce Alone :( by NeiloGD 2012-01-08T22:15:00

Very unique gameplay and graphics (I like the idea of using flat polygons for the characters)! I'm not exactly sure what I did right when I chased a rabbit away, but this is just a minor gripe. :)

Afrocity Atrocity by Sos 2011-12-20T14:13:00

Currently my favourite game of LD22!

Solitas Exodae by Gaeel 2011-12-21T23:13:00

Really great atmosphere. But is there anything other to do than pressing the right arrow key?

Alone In Space by BleuLlama 2011-12-19T22:14:00

Nice idea! The controls felt a little bit awkward, that is all. Also, is there supposed to happen something when you're out of food?

RGB by Benn 2012-01-08T22:07:00

Distilled gameplay, just how I like it!

[Greeble] by McFunkypants 2011-12-19T18:57:00

Very nice graphics, but a little bit lacking on the gameplay side. I didn't read the text below first, so I was disappointed that the characters that follow you aren't an actual gameplay element.
The game certainly has atmosphere! :)

The Search by quin 2011-12-21T22:48:00

Inspiring idea, but unfortunately not my type of gameplay. I prefer to play the "lone hero" instead of trying to be a leader of worlds. :-)

Ravenwood by Danik 2011-12-19T13:10:00

Superb graphics and audio, the atmosphere is perfect. Kudos!

Frosthome by Jeck 2011-12-21T22:41:00

This game is hard as hell! Very nice art, though. :-)

Dwarven Isolation by Milo 2011-12-29T11:39:00

Interesting concept, I'm sure. But somehow it felt like I couldn't do anything relevant. The sound effects are nice, though. ;) Booooooooom.

Alone by Dark Acre Jack 2011-12-21T15:43:00

Perfect atmosphere I gotta say. The setting reminded me of System Shock (2). Not bad!
I couldn't open the door with the room full of questions (which were really well-written, BTW) and didn't know why. Surely it's not because I chose the wrong answers?
Nevertheless, spooooky game, 5/5!

Fatward by joekinley 2011-12-19T23:35:00

MINDFUCK!

The Last Shadow by Justin Mullin 2012-01-07T11:57:00

I like it, especially Audio and Mood, but the controls ruin it for me.

Below by OddOneOut 2012-01-09T12:35:00

Very nice style, sound and pace. It's really a shame you didn't implement a more innovative gameplay. A bit more story would have been cool, too. ;)

Lone Escape by glitch 2011-12-19T19:11:00

Nice and proven concept, nicely done. A little bit too short though.

Follower by bobbobowitz 2011-12-21T13:44:00

That game is so sadistic hard, I ragequitted. :(

Really, make your game easier!

They Hunger by Cell 2011-12-21T13:53:00

Nice thing (especially for 5 hours)! But I'm not particular patient for such gameplay. :)

3 Missing, 4am by Sophie Houlden 2011-12-19T19:27:00

Woah, normalmaps!
Very atmospheric, indeed. Could be transformed into a great survival horror game!

Soliloquy by ratking 2011-12-19T12:58:00

@Danik Thanks! The visuals are a problem, I know, but at least it looks a little bit different thanks to them. ;) BTW, thanks for noticing the sound bug, will do a fix soon.

Soliloquy by ratking 2011-12-21T09:14:00

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words!

I am very sorry to hear how badly my game treats you! Perhaps I'll cut the effect down for some of you, but I don't know how yet. :-|

Soliloquy by ratking 2011-12-21T16:02:00

@pighead10: Yeah, sorry, not much sound to hear here. :(
@QXD-me: Yes, you're supposed to see both views all the time, this is pretty relevant especially in the last level. I think it emphasized the "Alone" topic quite well. :)

Alone in Red-F Labs by Sempai 2012-01-06T16:53:00

Crashes after a few seconds, always. (Win7, 64bit)

Project Robert Sean by vrld 2012-01-06T17:01:00

I had the same problems, not really knowing what's going on is frustrating. Nice achievement overall, though. Also, time goes too fast IMHO.

PS: When I press ESC, it always crashes.

5 DAYS by matthias_zarzecki 2012-01-08T22:23:00

Perfect entry and participant. :)

Carry Meow Home by Luthwyhn 2012-01-06T17:11:00

Really interesting idea, but unfortunately that's about it. The carrying mechanic didn't even work in my case. I liked some of the pixel art. :)

Rectangle Dude in a Bombed Building by tsaxi 2012-01-04T15:56:00

I gave a point for innovation, because sometimes the exit was on the left side of the screen instead of the right side. ...

I don't want to sound like a spoilsport, but please, people, don't bother uploading a game when it isn't much of game and it only was a learning experience. Think of those who want to rate games and have to dig through hundreds of unfinished tutorial projects. Also in this regard: next time, please make it more convenient to play your game (there are tools to create a .exe for LÖVE, i think).

Lonely Robot's Kitten Quest by Beerman 2012-01-08T22:22:00

Interesting beginning, but the game unfortunately fails in the further execution. A little bit more polishing would have been nice (like colors - anything would have been better than just grey), and more feedback regarding enemies and winning situation.
Keep on making games, it's a start!

Freerunner by ben1066 2012-01-04T16:01:00

Same old, same old.

After dying too much, I ragequitted. Not very fun, the jumping feels strange, and there probably wasn't much thinking about the theme.

You can do better!

AGAEPWTBYF by Derek 2011-12-21T23:02:00

Hahaha. Oh boy. After many too hard platformers, I just love easy games!

Forever Alone by oldtopman 2012-01-04T17:16:00

Can't download either. Please send me a message when you fix this, so I can change my rating for your game.

Trapped Alone by andrew845 2012-01-04T17:19:00

Urgh ... this game isn't playable, it's either too fast or I don't know why I can't change the room. :(

Lonely Thought by Awennor 2012-01-04T17:27:00

Not very motivating to play longer than a minute, sorry ...

You wake up alone by nili 2012-01-08T22:05:00

You do well on the mood side, and I encourage you to delve deeper in the fields of storytelling, but please give me a game with gameplay. ;)

Go find some friends by x2l2 2011-12-19T22:00:00

Yes, very laggy. But the idea is nice, you could be on to something!

Jim just wants to be alone by King 2011-12-19T22:35:00

I kinda like the style, especially the use of a 3D background for 2D gameplay! The running animation could need some more love and the buildings could be more colourful, but altogether the idea and the sound is neat. :-)

Loneliness by GFM 2012-01-09T22:55:00

Why don't you make make a post-compo version with bugs fixed? *This* is the real shame here ...

LonelyRouge by Brendan 2011-12-19T21:46:00

Sorry, I have no idea how to start your game, even with Python 2.7 installed (Win7 here). Please explain. :-P

Coclution by cirolve 2012-01-09T09:01:00

It's just hard, without being rewarding. :(

Lava Jumper by Skriglitz 2011-12-29T18:29:00

Unplayable, even with 800 fps "only", even the patched version. :(

Solitude - xandrew by xandrew 2011-12-29T12:04:00

Interesting concept IMHO, but the controls regarding the lasers are somewhat awkward.

Buttercup's Castle by bostelk 2011-12-21T11:11:00

Hahaha, great idea, very good implementation! 6/5!

Alone by Lilleman 2012-01-09T22:08:00

A Zombie game, how creative. :-P
I liked the sounds, though, and the lack of scrolling is artsy.

The Island by rockenstein 2011-12-29T11:46:00

Cool idea(s)! Is there any goal?
I liked the pointy tree. :)

The Island by rockenstein 2011-12-29T11:52:00

PS: It's expected that you provide the source code if you enter the compo.

Sandwich Quest by G 2011-12-29T11:59:00

Haha, nice idea! Is this based on experience? :)
A little bit frustrating, though, as I didn't know if I'm seen or not sometimes. Oh, and it works on Win7 64bit without a problem.

Midas by Wanderlands 2011-12-21T11:59:00

This is a great idea, and executed well. Make a full iOS game or something like this out of it!

.Journey to Polygonia by sythe 2012-01-06T22:55:00

Nice platformer, unfortunately nothing new. Big plus on the mood side!

.Journey to Polygonia by sythe 2012-01-07T11:46:00

PS, you have to provide your source code. Also, it would be nice if you rate some more games. Only 2 isn't enough.

LD23 — Tiny World

ToastBiome by tinyworlds 2012-05-01T10:46:00

I think I "played" the game, but I didn't know what I did there. Hmm, does the building do anything? I think I made some music blocks, or so.

A Tiny Planet by PabloAlexandre31 2012-05-05T08:33:00

Some Mood in here, but overall not very rewarding. No shooting? :-O ;-)

Petri by Tomalla 2012-05-02T20:46:00

This one has a nice style and all, but when I died I had to close the game and restart? Really? Meh. :-|

Electron Cloud by Evilion 2012-04-23T09:40:00

Nice think, but a little bit too random. At least I couldn't find out why I never seemed to catch an electron. Ah well, such is the live of an aggressive atom, I guess. :-)
Interesting enough, it doesn't become dull after quite some time, even though all you do is clicking around. Cool!

Supercell by Nick Cash 2012-05-01T10:36:00

Nice for a first game ... I like that the speed of the bullets depends on the distance between cursor and player. But why no sounds for destroying enemies? Generally, there's a lot of feedback stuff missing.

Pow! Pow! Pow! by Cake&Code 2012-05-07T22:05:00

The graphics are just awesome!!! Impressive overall look.
The controls worked a bit hard, because in german keyboards the Z is were your Y is :/

SUBPIXEL by cr0ybot 2012-05-04T17:32:00

Nice kind of colour matching game!
The controls could be a bit easier, without mouse scrolling - by moving the mouse in the place you want the brick to start.

Tiny Shards by Gabriel 2012-05-07T21:48:00

What a cute and beautiful game! I liked what you made out of the theme. And the music!!! Wow - highclass soundtrack :D
And your platformer is the first LD 23 game that really gives me the feeling 'I' control and not quirky controls use me.

Lost Lapootah by orgarus 2012-05-01T10:40:00

Uhm, do those lasers do anything?
The joke at the endscreen was nice.

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-05-02T22:30:00

Wow, this is highliy polished! It's just fun to place all the stuff and see the random disasters.Like the game very much!

Beyond by ben 2012-04-23T23:08:00

Interesting experience, but overall too frustrating. :-|
The art style is nice, would be even cooler with more feedback (like particles).

Phobius by deejorg 2012-05-02T21:25:00

Cool idea, but I ragequitted after I couldn't land on a platform as a blob because of the bad collision detection! Please work on that, then it would great! :-)

Tiny Island Adventure by AdventureIslands 2012-05-04T17:42:00

Wow, very polished platformer game!
The collision had some problems sometimes, getting stuck at an edge e.g.

Spaceways by roundcrisis 2012-05-01T10:59:00

Nice idea, but I don't really know why I always lose. :-P

Pale Blue Dot by tametick 2012-05-02T21:48:00

GREAT GAME!
BTW, you have to upload the code for the compo version.

gravity by Rémi 2012-05-01T18:49:00

Very nice entry! I like both the idea and execution very much.

Greed Wars by IgnatusZuk 2012-05-01T13:06:00

Sometimes annoying audio (shooting), but the rest is just teh awesome!

Millinaut by Throbbery 2012-05-05T14:22:00

Mh, maybe the controls are too strange or I was too dumb or the game was too hard or I didn't get what this game is about :/
But the graphics and the overall style are awesome!! As I read in the comments more people have this problems. Maybe you can fix those (people XD) problems to make it more accessible.

Acari love by SergioAwoke 2012-05-07T22:01:00

Woah, why has this game so less ratings?! This game looks simple at the beginning, but the level system adds some interesting mechanics.
The german games blog Superlevel wrote about you btw: http://superlevel.de/spiele/ludum-dare-23-reportage-teil-1-von-7

Download Incomplete by trq 2012-05-05T14:17:00

Awesome...if you like platform games. If not the controles are a bit vague sometimes. But polish + sound outweights that problem.

Dimensional by someone 2012-05-03T17:54:00

I don't like rating unfinished projects, but the idea really is good.

Microscopia by azurenimbus 2012-05-05T14:41:00

Haha, nice idea. But the lag drags the fun out of it. :-(

Muffin Time! by mr_tag 2012-05-07T22:31:00

The jumping was really hard. It would be better to have some platforms first, where the player could train jumping and then the more dangerous parts come by.

Twice Upon A Time by DainVadda 2012-05-02T20:58:00

OK, the idea is nice, the main char really looks a little bit retarded, this could be a good game, etc.
But why did you even upload it if it's not finished? :-/

Tiny God wants a Bigger World by Thotep 2012-05-02T21:07:00

Really good entry, and I like the basic idea, very innovative!
Wish there was more control over the humans, though, only five isn't enough, and they get eaten too quickly!

Save Tiny World by Biv Game Studios 2012-05-03T17:57:00

Can't rate, I don't have a smartphone whatsoever.

Tiny Worlds by Lidfrid 2012-04-23T09:50:00

Very cool, and very playable! The music is great, too.
But those black holes are really nasty. :-(

On Another Scale by Christian S. 2012-04-23T18:05:00

Very nice style. :-)

spectrumTrap by sugarlollipop 2012-05-03T06:33:00

IMHO a little bit TOO minimalistic. But I think I beat the game, at least I got out and wasn't trapped any more! \o/

MORE NOT-GAMES PLEASE!

Kumiho by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2012-05-02T22:33:00

Extrem nice designs...what should I say - it's fun to play!

Oh Boy, Oh Boy by Digitalis 2012-05-04T08:07:00

This is sooo beautiful!

Jack by PaulSB 2012-04-24T13:17:00

Good audio, and a lovable jump animation!

Hero of Rain by the31 2012-04-23T15:14:00

Perfect atmosphere, and polishing one can only dream of! Really cool, 5/5 overall.

Terra Bellum by voxel 2012-05-04T08:12:00

Sorry, unplayable. I can't buy much with the small amount of money at the beginning (can't see any prices?), and when I'm finally done, I fight against a "Test" world with no defenses, as my guns always shoot straight forward - never reaching that world.

Tiny Galaxy by Robert Swan 2012-05-07T20:18:00

Just loved this overall game. I just had my little problems with the jumping and landing on the platforms I wanted to. But above this: Great! Those little worlds are awesome to explore!

Colours in the Void by Benn 2012-04-24T13:30:00

Very Bennilistic! :-)
The gameplay mechanic with the laser is nice, but bad for my slow brain ...

Ok...Now this is akward! by Pierrec 2012-05-04T18:34:00

Who doesn't know this situation...meeting a man you don't know...that was a woman before XD
Sad, that there was not more to ionteract with. Liked the overall game!

Cracked by TimBeaudet 2012-05-08T10:38:00

Very polished, great job!

CAPSULE [web] by True Valhalla 2012-05-04T14:38:00

I liked the general idea of finding out afterwards, what you did some klicks before quite interesting. Very unique. But after three plays I wish I would have understood more.

Atom Planet by NMcCoy 2012-05-03T21:13:00

The visuals and weather are so beautiful! Although I had to watch the video to know what to do. That's a pity for such a little game.
Reminds me of my entry "Bunnies back into your cage", but you improved some things I didn't solve that smothely (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srfwlTqbwLs).

Dr. Nano - tiny surgeon by McFunkypants 2012-04-23T14:52:00

Cool SHMUP, very playable and fun, but I don't have a 1080p monitor. So I couldn't enjoy it fully, I suppose. :-P
Also, being microscopic is the exact opposite of "Tiny World" for me, haha.

Atomsmash by Dan C 2012-05-03T06:41:00

High score on graphics and Mood, but the rest is kinda meh, sorry.

Ant, Bee, Cow, Pig and Spider BOSS by karnakgames 2012-04-23T15:27:00

Interesting ideas, somehow. I rescued the ant! \o/

Memento XII by deepnight 2012-05-02T21:46:00

Simply awesome...I loved this adventure.

Rambros by Black Ships Fill the Sky 2012-05-04T22:38:00

Wohoooooo! Nothing more is needed to add here.

dLeIaFtEh by Cell 2012-04-23T12:28:00

That's so atmospheric! Make a full game out of it!

Cows and Stuff by wademcgillis 2012-05-02T22:44:00

The characters are the best thing! Loved your style...kepp this up!

[Darkness Creeping] by AD-Edge 2012-05-01T12:49:00

Very creepy, but overall much too dark to see anything ...
Also, is it just me or does the light source really falls through the floor everytime I try to push it? That's why I couldn't play any further, I think, and I really tried more than three times. :-|

Wunderworld by ratking 2012-04-23T02:10:00

Yeah, I wanted to do that, but somehow I lost my testlevel right before submission ... :( Thanks for playing!

Wunderworld by ratking 2012-04-23T23:34:00

In the standalone it really is a textbased format! :-)
I didn't test that with the Mac version though, where it saves the files there ... :-S

Wunderworld by ratking 2012-04-24T21:13:00

@Tifu: Yeah, it's my current version, which I just uploaded at Kongregate!

Wunderworld by ratking 2012-05-02T20:33:00

Thanks everybody!
recursor, I just compressed the text via BZip2 and encoded it with base64. Or anything like that, I don't really understand it fully, but it works, even without plugins in Unity! :-)

Wunderworld by ratking 2012-05-13T16:47:00

Make a level with enemies and a goal and press T! :-)

Trees of Life by pragmascript 2012-05-04T17:14:00

I liked the idea, but sliding so much after landing makes it abit difficult to stay alive or plant. Very nice graphics, though!

Planetline by SSJMetroid 2012-05-04T17:46:00

I generally recommend making easier games, especially when there character controller doesn't work perfect like in this game. The less ragequits I have to do, the more stars I give. :-P

van Leeuwenhoek by Johnicholas 2012-05-04T18:03:00

Black screen here, too. (Firefox, Win7) I extracted all the files.

Enzyme Frenzy by Matt Tuttle 2012-05-04T18:07:00

Nice minimalistic gameplay.

A Load of Bulls... by Frib 2012-05-04T18:00:00

Very nice, the first LD entry I saw that does the spherical thing pretty well. More feedback, please, perhaps with particles?

Mr Cool by Rialgar 2012-05-02T21:17:00

Cool graphics style, but doesn't work that well on my broswer unfortunately (lags). The spherical platforms aren't good for precise jumping. :-|

It's a Tiny Life... by Skywilly 2012-05-01T12:55:00

Touching story ... :)

Tiny Stomp by DoktorAce 2012-04-23T09:21:00

Well done, really polished and nice to look at!

Mini-Worlds and Monocles by Zed 2012-04-23T14:17:00

A platformer with witty dialogues! :-)
Please change the pick-up sound, it's pretty annoying! But I liked that hitting enemies isn't too punishing, I hate it when I die every step. Keep jamming!

Bottlecolonies by tcstyle 2012-04-23T10:47:00

I loved the graphics, neat style!

River Runner by omaha 2012-05-07T22:56:00

The Tiny World of Fiorella by strega 2012-05-02T21:43:00

What a sweet game.

Niña Nueve by Jonathan Whiting 2012-05-04T20:45:00

Just wow! What a cute and beautiful game..and clever!!!

HMS Imahara by SLiV 2012-05-04T14:35:00

Very atmospheric, congratulations. I guess it's too complex to beat it in one round, though, only one of my crewmembers survived. :-|

Ancestor's Sword by JaJ 2012-05-07T22:52:00

I dislike platformers a bit, but this game is rad! Even dying is fun! You achieved being dead in this game is lesser frustrating then in other platformer games.
I just got stuck in on place, couldn't get forward/backward.
I love it, though, will play it again!

Inside My Radio by TurboDindon 2012-05-04T18:20:00

I didn't get that far...I find platformer always pretty hard, especiaslly when you can just jump in a certain moment.
Nevermind, the entry looks great, the sound is awesome!

Predominantly Tiny World by Graham Weldon 2012-04-23T09:26:00

Cool entry, although I found it very hard to aim in a meaningful way, and therefore died very quickly. I love walking on planetoids in games! ;-)

Unterholz by wzl 2012-04-23T10:10:00

Hey, this is awesome. I like not-games, there should be more of them, as it really is tiresome to hunt for scores all the time. :-) Very relaxing!
I'd change the background, but that would be my only complain right now.

Tiny Shooter by Strkl 2012-05-07T20:14:00

Nice graphics style, but I really don't know if I like it when people upload unfinished games. At least just display a textbox when the last enemy is defeated.
The double clicking is kind of counter-intuitive.

1 Seed by Gemberkoekje 2012-05-07T21:13:00

It would be cool, if you could give markers for the player to know which planet he greened or which class the planet is.
The space mechanic was a bit wierd at the beginning, but since I started to understand how to use it well (stopping for example) it worked quite well.
Nice idea!

Tiny world helicopter rescue by jedilemons 2012-05-03T17:47:00

Fully animated, has sound, works bugfree, and winning is possible. One of the better Ludum Dare entries so far. :-P

Nom Nom Planet by Arkazon 2012-05-02T20:39:00

Nice little game, very complete and stable. :-)

TinyBoxes by geekygenius 2012-05-07T20:45:00

The music is a little bit annoying and I don't see the connection to the theme, but otherwise a great game.

Dave is in a Fish Tank by Toast 2012-05-07T20:24:00

I felt like a mad god in this game, haha.

Planet Run by minism 2012-05-03T06:13:00

Very cool game, but also very frustrating. And why the time constraint?

Super Fun Crushy Time! by Darkfrost 2012-04-23T22:50:00

Hey, nice idea!
You should use Quaternion.FromToRotation() in order to make a real movement on a sphere, without having to create strange collision spheres at the poles. ;-)

Submarine: This Ain't Your Momma's Bathtub, Tovarisch by kibertoad 2012-05-07T21:56:00

OK, I reached the end, but I don't know if I won or lost. (Probably the latter.) I can't tell because, TBH, this was just too much text presented in a very boring manner.
Otherwise, some very nice ideas here.

Nano Commander by SmallDeadGuy 2012-04-24T08:18:00

Cool, a minimal RTS! I like it the way it is, you shouldn't add too much stuff. :-)
Perhaps different colors for the player bullets / enemy bullets would be nice.

Zombie Fish by Ethanh59 2012-05-05T07:56:00

Nice little idea, wish there were more variation in the gameplay.

Homedefender by Hopps 2012-05-07T20:52:00

I concur, the bullet speed is too damn slow. Will the game end when I rescued all 7 billion people? :-P

Green Invasion by Kableado 2012-05-04T14:46:00

Nice little game, the feedback could be a little better and the health display larger. Also, I didn't see the screen when I died, probably because it restarted instantly because of holding the key.

It's a tab by brackcurly 2012-05-07T22:38:00

W - O - W XD This IS tiny!

Link by Dax 2012-05-02T21:01:00

Liked the idea very much. And the tutorial is well done.
But there was just one hard level...the others are more work that brain breakers. The "story" should be skippable next time...I wanted to play, play, play :D

Swift by andrebeton 2012-05-03T18:02:00

Interesting idea.

Tiny Wizard by kebabskal 2012-04-24T10:57:00

Wizards ain't have it easy. :-)
Really neat style!

I always loved Sokoban :D

Tiny Quest by lorancou 2012-05-07T22:22:00

Hahaha...great! I broke with the game several times, but got always back to solve it.

The Dream Sequencer by Morgawr 2012-05-02T21:32:00

What a satifying end ;) A little bit too much text at the end. But I liked playing it :D Loved the idea.

GRIDiots by Taugeshtu 2012-04-23T10:03:00

Interesting graphics, and really nice idea for the setting.
Unfortunately, the character controller is a PITA and ruins the exploration a little bit. Other than that, very nice work!

Flyspeck by amodo 2012-05-02T20:30:00

NEEDS MORE STUFF! :-)

Purgatorio by moonkid 2012-05-02T22:07:00

Yeah, weird is the right word. Cool idea, though.
I just reached a dead end, don't know what to do...sadly.

LD24 — Evolution

Soul Jar by farmergnome 2012-08-28T19:27:00

Totally enjoyed the game. Beautiful graphics and intense kood. Helping the robot was sweet, although I never got this far that he evolves a protection field (red it in the comments).

Papillon by ChevyRay 2012-08-28T18:45:00

Truly great animations! Died a little bit too often, but that's just old me being bad at platformers. :)

Box vs. Nature by pekuja 2012-08-29T10:05:00

Cute twin shooter! Somehow some creatures evolved to having only one eye ... o_O

Woah, this really is a great art style!

Mutant Hover Kittens by Pisti 2012-09-16T21:33:00

I lost and I don't know why. Some deeper instructions would have been nice, or a explanation of what exactly happens on the screen!

Very funny!

Helix - A DNA Editor / Creature Platformer by hirsch 2012-08-31T09:17:00

Oculus Battalion by Maxium 2012-08-30T09:15:00

Nicely done, congrats. I wish there was more enemy variation, though.

I love the idea with the changing color of the player.

Survival of the Fittest by codesavage 2012-08-29T09:09:00

The biggest loading bar ever :D I liked the astronaut..the anim was so sweet. And the controls for a platformer (jumping) were pretty good, because they often make the biggest problems (after collision detection).
Hope you make more of it!

Unnatural selection by rubna 2012-09-01T09:08:00

Hey, very nice! After the mines closed because there were no stones any more, all I did was ramp up my lumberers ... the game is getting slow with too many population though. ;-)
Nonetheless, great accomplishment!

Outside of the Test Tube by ramoncb 2012-08-30T08:48:00

Nice accomplishment, I like the 3D models!
The speed is a little bit too slow for me, is there an option to speed the waves up?

Pixelomoeba by PickledBrain 2012-08-28T19:34:00

Simple and nice, just the way I like it!

ROLL PAPER, ROLL!! by Lapinou 2012-08-29T10:35:00

What a strange game! I iked the idea, although I don't get why you play it in the mountains?! ;)

B07s by Moebius 2012-08-28T20:14:00

Uhm, interesting concept, but ...

I started it. I died instantly. I restarted it. I landed in a level without any bots?! I restarted it again, and died again within some seconds.

Perhaps adding some kind of health would have been a good idea. It's just too hard now. But the visuals are nice.

Evolving Words by rjhunter 2012-09-17T13:47:00

Very nice idea!

Evil Tests by raoz 2012-08-28T19:10:00

Fix the character controller / mouse movement, and this will become an interesting game! :)

Crab by Mayto 2012-08-28T20:13:00

Mood and Sound were absolutely awesome. Very scary. The game itself was a bit strange, didn't get much far, because I didn't know where to go after this extremely infected room....well, I will try it later.

GiRL2501 by braingale 2012-08-28T07:59:00

Very nice, graphics and sound and mood are great!

I spotted a bug, though: My projectiles collide with the bottom end of the wall. So when I stand in front of a wall, I don't even shoot.

Darbot Saves Science by science4cake 2012-09-06T21:52:00

The friction-less movement really prevented from having fun with this game, sorry.

SUPER Levolution by TheBallCollective 2012-08-28T20:33:00

The song of this game is sooo great!! Totally loved it! Super style and level design. I just wish the stings would be a bit more visible.

Troll Spirit by zzorn 2012-08-29T13:54:00

I like the overall idea very much.
Although I often missed feedback. For example, I didn't realise when they eat. ( I fed them with apples, but the floor was just full with apples not eaten). Or if they killed someone? Or which Trolls were mine.
ButI liked the Troll designs very much, not so typical!

Beatbox Evolution by joekinley 2012-08-29T10:01:00

Well done, I like the visuals very much!

Rise of the Meebas by Jimjam 2012-09-15T14:26:00

Nice idea, after the hint with the second level I even could play it through!

kernel exception by ratking 2012-08-27T22:44:00

Haha, well, it's good that the text at the bottom is just "noise" - otherwise it would be annoying, as it's there for atmosphere, not for real information.
Yeah, the Devmania may be out of scope for most people, but then again it's sad that this little convention doesn't get the attention it used to. So why not inviting others to have a look at it?

kernel exception by ratking 2012-08-28T09:54:00

Cell War by ra4king 2012-08-28T20:55:00

The music is a nice touch. It's sad that it is such an unfinished state.

R/evolution by AdamHarte 2012-09-10T18:29:00

Nice idea!

cuboidAI by JH 2012-08-28T19:58:00

Would have been nice if there were some interaction in order to have an impact on the evolution.

Prometheus by sorceress 2012-08-28T20:49:00

Love the mood and graphics. Nicely done!

Sorry, didn't remember to look at the score. :(

Evo Space by edibletoaster 2012-08-30T15:34:00

This rocks! Personally I'd ditch the concept of only 3 lives (never make your LD games too hard), and the need to press X (because there is no reason to not shoot), but otherwise this is a great idea.

Life Forms by galman 2012-08-28T20:42:00

I liked the game! Felt like a roguelike (without rooms). Wish the graphics would give a bit more information. I sometimes had to stop the game to look what each colour in the store means. Little symbols would be nice.
Good work!

EvoCube: Epoch Victorious by kratorspore 2012-09-06T21:48:00

Very nice game, but couldn't beat level 3? Seemed like a bug.

Penelope Panther by fantasywiz54 2012-08-29T11:58:00

An atmospheric soundtrack would have been a nice addition.

Universal Adaptors! by yanmania 2012-09-06T21:42:00

Nice and humorous little game, although very hard to control.

Lucid by Redream 2012-08-28T20:03:00

Beautiful game, but the jumping was some kind of hard. Smaller gaps would be nice at the beginning.

Place of Origin by evilseanbot 2012-08-30T09:04:00

Very nice, both from a technical point of view and from the mood.

Evoland by ncannasse 2012-08-28T19:56:00

Aww, very nice idea. Loved the game. The notification could stay a bit longer for reading.

Human Evolution by emveyh 2012-08-28T20:05:00

Nice game, but very hard IMHO. :)

Forward by zaratustra 2012-08-29T14:10:00

I think I liked the first game most, although I needed very long to figure out, how to get in the next place (couldn't identify the doors). Design and graphics fitted best and I love this old style!

The other games felt more ike prototypes. But the idea was great! Loved it!

Hortus by amodo 2012-08-29T08:14:00

I couldn't find any earth-like planet in order recreate humanity! :-(

I like the GUI design, reminded me of Syndicate Wars.

Encarmine by Sailerius 2012-08-29T16:42:00

Yeah, graphic novels! And with such beautiful graphics. The black and white art style is amazing.
The typo could have presented a bit nicer. I didn't like that it often was not well to read or occluding the graphics. A box at the bottom of the screen would have done better.
And a bit more choices, that really matter would have been nice. But I never did a graphic novel, can't imagine how complex this would be.
Nice work, though!

LD25 — You are the Villain

Keep our Dungeons EVIL by hadesfury 2012-12-19T23:03:00

Nice idea! Could need a bit more feedback, and more editing options, though.

Very nice audio and trees.

Random Adventure by Lidfrid 2012-12-17T11:05:00

Santa sure is hard to kill.

Cookie Caper by commanderstitch 2012-12-24T23:01:00

5/5 for audio! :-) Didn't know what to do after my cookie got eaten by vermins, so hmmmm ... Nice game overall!

Sebastian by Amoaeba Junior 2012-12-18T10:48:00

3543 destruction points, yay! Strange game, but fun! I like how you get awesome new powers every time.

MidBoss by Eniko 2012-12-18T11:05:00

I like the idea very much, although I recommend to make it a bit more accessible (NumPad, urgh). For example, I'd save the last positio of the attack crosshair, so I wouldn't have to reposition it with every attack.

TEK45 by JakeAnstey 2012-12-18T10:53:00

If it's not finished, don't post it. You don't need it to take part in the mini LDs! ;)

against your past by Tepuzquiquiztli 2012-12-18T11:09:00

The "previous" thing is genius, I'd like to see that expanded. Otherwise the gameplay is a bit awkward, I would rather make it a twinstick shooter. Nice entry nonetheless!

against your past by Tepuzquiquiztli 2012-12-18T11:27:00

BTW, don't forget to add the source code. For compo entries, this is mandatory.

Glimmy by apeandskate 2012-12-17T23:47:00

Very nice for a first game, I think my first game was "guessing the number". :P Controls could be a little bit better, especially at the slopes. Nonetheless, nice idea!

Hostile Nebula by SkyWolf 2012-12-17T10:48:00

Awesome idea! Needs a replay function! ;-)

Cow Stealer by ParaPup 2012-12-17T10:52:00

High on the humor rating, because of the funny collision! ;-) Otherwise, nice for a first time - don't stop making games!

Princessss by Aerlynn 2012-12-18T10:38:00

Nice entry!
But make the enemies easier, as it is pretty hard to beat the game when they're as powerful as you. Controls are a little bit awkward, as you have to click on something while the character walks.

1,500,000 by joecarrot 2013-01-05T12:35:00

Nice music!
BTW, in Unity you can change every texture to not get compressed by the engine.

You are the Dragon by wallmasterr 2012-12-20T15:55:00

Nicely done graphics! I especially like the idea with the animated texture for the dragon; I will borrow that idea. ;)
Too bad it's really glitchy, and I get score points when I press R? I wouldn't have used the left mouse button for blowing fire, BTW, because it's the only use of the mouse. This way I tried all keys for more interaction than flying and had to read the instructions afterwards to find out.
Nice entry overall.

Earth Destroyer by Interbellum 2012-12-18T11:35:00

Wow, nice one! Two things: 1) You can deactivate the context menu of Unity in the webplayer (search for it in the documentation, it's just a parameter via JavaScript). 2) It was very unclear to me at the beginning which weapon is activated (as there were only two). Highlight the current one with a rectangle or so instead of graying it out.
Really great entry otherwise!

Carnage by SXPanda 2012-12-18T17:13:00

Nice game! :-) There's glitch in the animations, though.

Black Ops by Chainsawkitten 2013-01-07T17:31:00

Somehow this is unrateable. Interesting not-game.

Reclaimed Empire by zazery 2012-12-20T15:43:00

Very nice graphics style. Will you finish the game?

THE CONDEMNED by Dark Acre Jack 2012-12-19T22:44:00

Awesome atmosphere, but the controls were a hinderance. I'd like to see something like that with a bigger scope, but with free rotation. I didn't really see a reason to limit the viewport, especially in an adventure game.

Tale of Scale by ratking 2012-12-17T10:55:00

Thanks, guys!

@Deril: I uploaded standalone versions, do those work?

@wallmaster: This level needs some ... thinking outside the box ... (hint, hint :P)

Tale of Scale by ratking 2012-12-19T11:51:00

@Eniko: You can have a look in the source code? It's not dark magic, just resizing and repositioning the object based on the current camera view, combined with thousands of collision checks.

@SmallDeadGuy: I hope that error is on your side, I never experienced that ... :-/

@bradleypollard: Yeah, the character controller is suboptimal, and not only the jumping needs a lot of work. Every complaint about stucking walls is due to me having no time to do a cool controller. :-/

@Jezzamon: The theme is in it, you just have to play it through to see it! Think of "Looper" ...
Oh, and I had the idea already as a kid, so your friend didn't have the idea before me. :-P

@GeorgeBroussard: You don't have to get to the top in level 3, there's just window. I think you can even use the pins only.
Altogether yeah, you can do more with less, but I thought having some kind of sandbox to play with is kind of fun. That you have certain goals in each level is a bonus, really.

Tale of Scale by ratking 2012-12-19T11:52:00

Thank you everyone for the kind words!

The World is Mine! by matthias_zarzecki 2012-12-18T10:25:00

Generally I miss a little bit of quality in the execution, though. For example there is no reason why Labels and Buttons look alike (or why the buttons don't have a "hover" state). The houses don't even have a rooftop but are textured with the same window texture at the top.

But overall it's a very relaxing game and I played it through. =)

Hopesington by Norgg 2012-12-20T15:03:00

I didn't quite understand what was happening, but I like the underlying mechanics (making people evil and so on)! Perhaps some more feedback regarding what gains "glory" would be helpful.

Banished by Kharza 2012-12-22T00:08:00

Very nice entry, even though I didn't quite understand why there was fighting at all. Wouldn't be needed at all. ;)

You are the (NOIR) Villain by Graham Weldon 2012-12-19T13:40:00

Only being able to walk forward is a bummer. :|

Eaten by wzl 2012-12-17T13:05:00

Very morbid. :-P I like the art and soundeffects, although the city could be a little bit mor varied.

We Drive Unto The Fortress by SmallDeadGuy 2012-12-17T22:37:00

The controls were hard to grasp / learn at first, but overall I like the game. :)

Anta Gogen by Vic 2012-12-19T22:25:00

Very nice entry, I had fun building my zombie army!
Only gripe for me are the controls, I prefer keyboard for camera movement, for more precision and less random movement.

Legacy of Hamelin by Draknek 2012-12-17T13:16:00

Hey, I like the idea and concept, very nice. Music's a bit annoying, though. ;)

Hat by N427 2012-12-20T15:30:00

Awesome entry! I like this form of narrative, it's like a graphic novel. Try to find out how to deploy it on other platforms, please!

Home Massacre by aeveis 2012-12-20T15:47:00

Amazing pixel art, especially the beast's animations. Colors could be a bit better. Wish there was more and more interesting stuff to do. Which just means, I had fun with the game and would like to have it expanded. :)

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Hail Of Bombs by tinyworlds 2013-08-27T09:18:00

Good music! ;-)
The bombs look more like cherries than bombs tho. Would be nice if the landing spot weren't always on the floor, for more diversity.

Puzzle Dash! by Fireblend 2013-08-27T13:29:00

Somehow I feel this is one of the entries that could be quite fun if it weren't for the much too harsh time limit. So, please add an "easy" mode. :-P

Dungeon Deadline by Orni 2013-08-28T22:37:00

Very cool game, couldn't stop playing until I beat the deadline dragon! ;-) A bit too easy though, but that's a good thing.

Attack Force Deca by PIXEL^3 2013-08-27T17:45:00

I defeated the brain! Cool entry, nice difficulty. The dolphin fight made me laugh. :-)

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-08-27T13:39:00

Super-polished perfectly made little thing! Nothing more to say. Like the fast-paced + puzzle style. Warmly reminds me of the Donkey Kong game for Gameboy.

Composition by the 10th Second by NeiloGD 2013-08-28T09:00:00

A great idea! I can't beat level 5 tho. ;-)

GLITCH by TravisChen 2013-09-08T09:19:00

Great idea. I love the visuals, although I have no idea what I see exactly. I think I would have preferred an exploration game more than a platformer.

Ludum Dare by Dir3kt 2013-08-27T19:26:00

Pressing the left mouse button really destroys the quality of my entry. ;-)

I love the settings and the characters. Hilarious!

SMS Racing by hlink 2013-08-27T18:25:00

The car controls are shitty, but I guess that's not what the game is about. Hilarious idea!

glitchme.exe by Sos 2013-08-28T09:16:00

I'm a bit disappointed, I thought my monitor would explode.

But the idea is great! ;-)

The abyss by dvdking 2013-08-28T18:07:00

I like the concept, that you have to avoid the objects first, but gaining them as your score afterwards. Super addictive! Awesome story ;)

Clockwork Cat by patrickgh3 2013-08-27T13:02:00

I don't get past the first nom-nom-food part @[email protected]
But I love the idea of using the time constraint for the platforms as well.

War Horse Of Impeccible Desert Taste And Cannons by commanderstitch 2013-09-08T19:48:00

Really confusing gameplay, but it seems to be deeper the longer I play it. If you can't display the instructions in the game, at least write it below the SWF. ;-)

The Saddest Landscape by BradleySmith 2013-08-28T17:32:00

The whole presentation is really charming. Would love it would last any longer. Now I feel sad, and can't do anything in the game to stop it.

TIME SHIFTER by Split82 2013-08-29T08:31:00

Interesting art and nice overall execution.

Don't sink by Doctor Broccoli 2013-08-28T18:23:00

Really, really cool game. I like what you made of the game of life.
The only that irritated me while playing was the camera movement, it's annoying. And some sound and music would be great.

Con 10 Sedi by Capro 2013-08-27T18:52:00

Hah, nice idea! The controls and interface were strange at the beginning, but after a second try I understood it.

Time Frame by Random Seed Games 2013-09-13T11:41:00

At first I was really taken aback by the beauty of the atmosphere, colour and of course the music, which captures everything quite well.
I like the approach you did with this concept, but I think it would have worked out even better if there were any moving objects to show that this world works really slow.
And it takes too much slow walking, to reach the more interesting places.
Anyway, gorgeous!

10 by Benn 2013-08-27T21:09:00

Bestest entry I played so far.

Taen Saeck by Typedeaf 2013-08-27T19:20:00

Excellent entry, very complex and yet easy to play. Although it was a bit hard for me with my Germany keyboard layout, so if you could fix that, that would be great. :-)

Woodman for President by lcarpentier 2013-08-27T18:32:00

I didn't liked the theme either. Let's replace politicians with stick figures! :D

Wing by CrownCity 2013-09-01T14:52:00

It's like Vine - the Game ;)I like the idea. Although I'm still not sure what you need the large vision view for. Maybe I just never switched because of my German keyboard...A bit more feedback would be nice. A sound or little text animation when you get more viewers.

T minus 10 by Pixelboy_85 2013-09-01T14:23:00

Haha, Super hilarious game! Getting hit by a satelite is a serious problem astronauts have to face! :D
I just miss some music here, and Ouch!-sounds.

BURN_TIME by nihilocrat 2013-08-27T13:36:00

Very cool entry. It's hard, but I had fun playing it!

Hallucivian by Hypnohustla 2013-08-27T18:29:00

Wow, very hard and yet addictive. I adore the graphics style!

Sleeping House by Muciojad 2013-08-28T20:14:00

The idea is really nice! I wish I wouldn't float that much and that the light bulb would be as huge as the character, so I can walk the path blindly.

Doctor Drown (Ph D) by paulmcgg 2013-09-01T14:03:00

I didn't get the game at all. Okay, red is, where you can't click to flood the room. But no idea how I could manage to press the water in a special room. And where I see when the agents arrive...and why I could click monitors next to the water monitor to fill a rooms..and when not. @-@
Whatever! The whole idea is great. Love the humor and the idle animations..and little monitors. Great work!!

10 Seconds by rogueNoodle 2013-08-27T18:18:00

Very cool, very playable platformer. I like the concept with dying and still continuing the levels, but somehow being able to replay a level in the same run would have been nice.

Nice entry!

10 Seconds of Grey by Almax27 2013-08-27T21:19:00

Wow, this looks extremely nice! Cool idea to present the progress. Fun use of popular quotes.

deci-mer by Back to Browse Entries 2013-08-28T19:58:00

I always love to see what people do with randomly generated content. It's also very cool, that the games restarts immediately after falling.
Music or at least a bit ambient mood would be nice. And as jumping is the main gameplay, it could be more rewarding. Like little particles or the boxes moving, when you lend o them.

Very cool concept. I just love it! Nothing more to say here!

Very interesting idea!

Gauntlet: A Series of Ten Second Strategies by OkayHughes 2013-08-28T17:55:00

I also think this game has a lot of potential. But I miss some kind of feedback, I can't really see, what I do and where I put some of the way points. I also pressed randomly Q and E and survived a few rounds, but there happened nothing. I also put every waypoint in the back of the first building and won every time. ...

Your last 10" by Sithdown 2013-08-27T18:56:00

The idea is cool. Always wanted to make a stop-motion game like that. Try to finish it!

Royal Defenestrator by BasmanovDaniil 2013-09-08T09:45:00

Oh no! This game triggers my willingness to clan a level completely. I can throw the queen out and her guards XD Great one. Although I have no idea why I throw things out...at all! But yeah, I can throw things out, so that's what I do :D

100-Dash Dreams by frogcheese 2013-09-01T13:53:00

Super hilarious! I like, that you put personal statements into the game. More developers should do that.

Beautiful and very atmospheric! The sound let me feel like playing some epic adventure I'm going on, until...

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-08-28T20:24:00

I hunted frogs. OMG ;) The graphics and all the animals are so beautiful. LOve the art style and animations.
I just miss a little bit more feedback and pace. Maybe fleeing animals or particles when you strike them.
What ever, nice one!!!

Lost in the Darkness by TobiasW 2013-09-08T11:08:00

I really, really loved the game. Great job! Although I was suspicious because of the graphic style first (sorry, asshole grahic artist attitude). I get goosebumbs when I see the game over screen and how he turns into a critter @-@
Nothing more to say. Cool concept! :D

Legend of Epikouros by Erhune 2013-09-08T10:56:00

Moody, neat little game. I SO love the concept. It's klike a participative Let's Play! I just had the feeling that I had less than 10 seconds :( I just walked a bit and time went off. A speed up, if you want to try it again would be very nice. Or at least skip to the last 5.

Time Labyrinth by mochalematazi 2013-08-27T22:00:00

Interesting Framework. What is it, that you used? I liked the mixture of visual novel and dungeon crawler. And the amount of graphics, backgrounds, enemies! Although the novel was a bit lengthy sometimes. But I liked the weird ideas.

The Duellists by jay griffin 2013-09-08T10:39:00

The graphics and the whole idea are really great. I love the little characters.
What I don't get so far is why I have to put the mouse into the '!'-Icon before shooting and when the cross hairs is green and yellow. There is very much around a game, that would be otherwise even more simple and pure.

YorkTime by Steve | tacospice 2013-08-27T12:46:00

Really nice idea, you should expand it!

I disagree by papercaves 2013-08-27T12:55:00

Superb graphics! I was confused about how the game works at first, but got the hang of it quite quickly.
As the game is frustratingly short now, I recommend making a version with a less harsh time limit. ;-)

Usain Bolt's Super Shopping Sprint by Bekokstover 2013-08-27T12:57:00

Thanks a lot for the windows version. The Idea is super-stupid-brilliant. Imagine the whole life of a sprinter works like that m)

10 Second Sushi by mutilator 2013-08-28T19:50:00

Jep, super addictive! A bit more feedback, like splashing or something, when you picked the wrong fish would be nice.

Disminer by tnorman 2013-08-28T17:45:00

The presentation really caught my eye. But I don't really get, what needs to be done....was what I wanted to write first, but when I read here about rules and "figuring it out" I took the challenge. Super great, little Idea. Wish there would be more levels, with different colours and maybe harder distance between the colours.

Origami Wings by team_cow 2013-08-28T19:41:00

Awww, this is sooo beautiful. I love flying games. reminds me of floating through the wings in Mario 64. And here comes the shit about came constraints - they don't make most games better. So I have to train my skill to see more of the beautiful landscape ;)
I think the line shader is a bit overdone, but I love how the environment got shaded through the distance.

A Maze Thing by TeamAMazeThing 2013-09-01T14:37:00

The concept sounds pretty great. I just had some problems getting orientation in this space station. Due to the lags I often lost the direction I was heading to.
It would be great if the doors you can use have lights, so you needn't try them all, if you lost the orientation. An arrow for the player symbol in the minimap would be great as well.
Great atmosphere. Thrilling!

S0LB0T by XaiZil 2013-09-01T14:16:00

The bulltes should be a bit bigger or a twin-stick shooting would be better to properly hit the enemies. I also miss some feedback with the dead of the enemies. When they reach you in a bulk, I often shoot longer than necessary, because I didn't saw when they are dead.
To display the timer more prominently would be good, because of its importance!

Fucking great game.

I Am Time Bomb by LegacyCrono 2013-08-27T09:11:00

Awesome idea! But we had no idea how to play it - the timelimit makes it very confusing! ;-)
Small suggestion for the control scheme: First player should have Enter as Pick/Throw, so it's nearer to their hand.

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-27T08:55:00

@Rick Hoppmann, good find ... good thing small typo bugfixes are still allowed. This will be the last one. ;)

@all: Thanks for the kind words! I hope I can test your games soon, too!

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-27T20:48:00

@gre: That's not a bug, you just run out of ammo! I realized now that this situation really is missing some feedback, it should have a sound or so. Ah well, I'll add that in a post-compo version.

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-28T20:31:00

@Martin_Monosys, you have to wait 10 seconds near one of the floating devices. Then enemies will start to spawn.

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-29T11:08:00

@Oxygamer: Can you elaborate? What is inconvenient?

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-30T18:09:00

@nddrylliog: Thanks! Funny enough, the devices you have to activate ARE the "infinite replenishment stations". ;-) But yeah, that needs more explaining. I'm already at working on a multiplayer mode, though I'm not sure if it will work.

Every Ten Seconds A Kitten Drowns by matthias_zarzecki 2013-08-27T09:26:00

Hey, cool entry - nice music too! I like the shop system.

Too bad I had two bugs: Once a kitten was directly spawned inside a seamine, and after I bought something (speed +10%), I suddenly couldn't rescue any more kittens, I just drove through them. :-(

John Q. Adamant by nddrylliog 2013-08-30T17:02:00

This comment/rating is a little experiment, after I ranted on Twitter how non-anonymous comments make honest feedback/criticsm very hard, because the writer has to fear "revenge" in the form of a bad rating in return. Of course, in an ideal LD world no one would have to fear revenge, but we don't live in an ideal world. ;-)

So, yeah, @nddrylliog dared me to write an honest review now, and just to be extra-clear, here's the disclaimer:

THE AUTHOR HAS GIVEN ME EXPRESS PERMISSION TO BE HARSH.

Overall I like the story idea and the interpretation of the theme. But unfortunately this is presented in an unreadable manner. :-P Sure, the font fits the theme, and for the intro it worked, but for the descriptions I hardly could concentrate on what I read here, especially in combination with the somewhat annoying music (which IMHO doesn't support the setting that well). It also didn't help that the background stories, as interesting as they are, don't explain the pros and cons of every presidential candidate (or just show some stats). Good thing it's very fast to try each of them.

I just wish there would have been more diversity than just the look and shooting pattern (I liked the animated gun of Langdon Cheves!), especially as there seems to be only one single level. Smith Thompson is overpowered while other candidates don't have a chance to destroy everything. This isn't a bad thing, as it would be a chance to sort the candidates by difficulty. I also see a missed chance by the developer to add some kind of progression bar which increases with every presidential candidate who won the war.

On the graphical side: The game is a bit ugly, as it lacks consistency. While the ships are drawn, the tiles of the floor look too geometrical. The floor generally is very bland, adding some details would do it good. Also, some kind of colorcode would help the general look, by choosing just 3 or 4 colors and sticking to them for all art assets, with shadings. There are several tools for choosing a nice colorcode; right now, the game's colors are too bright for me or have too much contrast.
Besides of the explosions, there could be more particle effects, especially when hitting one of the bigger enemies.

The screens for death and victory come very quickly, which isn't satisfying. Add some transitions to celebrate these events! :-) Such animations also help to polish a game; think of screen shaking when getting hit.

Some sounds would have been nice, if only for the explosions. Those can be made very quickly with bfxr or so.

BTW, I rated the game 4/5 on Fun, as I thought it to be pretty playable - in my opinion, it's a start for a good game. It mostly needs more rewards for the player, like neat effects and some kind of progression.

Pro Crastinator by Jedi 2013-09-04T07:36:00

Haha, this reminds me of some German simulation games, like the Landwirtschaftssimulator (Farming Simulator). And I really mowed the lawn completely.
I see now why such games get played - they are, in a sense, very addictive.

And doing some Unity stuff on the laptop after the hard lawn work was kinda rewarding, I dunno why.

Kudos for the cool idea! :-)

Life of a Photon by netguy204 2013-08-27T13:09:00

Very good audio and mood! Also, I really like your thoughts on the theme.

The Thief by N0_Named_Guy 2013-08-28T21:32:00

Very nice, a minimalist stealth game! A bit more hints on when the enemies can see me would be nice, but overall it's a solid gameplay.

The only one by JaJ 2013-09-08T10:00:00

The graphics are so beautiful and moody. I liked the whole idea very much.
I ust have a problem with walking the same way over and over again. That makes it a bit dull, until you find out, where you can make the next progress.

Mercurial by sorceress 2013-08-27T17:33:00

Awesome entry! Although it's a bit hard, how do I avoid the ghost in the platformer-part?

The "source" folder in your ZIP-file is empty, BTW.

Mercurial by sorceress 2013-08-27T18:16:00

Super cool idea! I love how everything comes together! And the music fits perfectly, totally let's me restart after every fail. (Jana)

Pinokio and Juliet 2113 by kibertoad 2013-08-28T19:30:00

Haha, the character designs are great. There seems to be a strategy for every enemy , but feedback here would be nice, if you poked the right body parts. I just guessed and either the enemy loses nothing or nearly full health bar.
I think lesser options would be better or that you gain new attack styles after battles, so you can get used to the masses of attacks available here.
Reminds me of Battle Angel Alita. Very cool atmosphere.

GunJoust by Vic 2013-08-27T09:40:00

Scrapshaper by the31 2016-04-19T13:22:00

Works very well, I would like to see it as a more expanded game with more different things to do (upgrades, enemy types). I was victorious!

The crashes are okay for a jam game, really (I only experienced them when dying). My only nitpick would be the lack of screenshake and particles!

I recommend changing the keys for shape shifting to something more logical, maybe Arrow Key left and right, and 1,2,3.

Shipshift Pronto by KhaoTom 2016-04-19T12:39:00

Hey, I like the idea a lot - I gave a good rating!

I had a bug though, which made the game somewhat easy. ;-) http://i.imgur.com/wrzovRe.png

De Skogen by Aidan Markham 2016-04-19T18:09:00

I enjoyed it for what it is - an short, atmospheric experience. Well done!

Unbecoming by tomlum 2016-04-19T10:28:00

Very cool entry! I felt with the girl.

CLIQUE by iendsl 2016-04-19T16:09:00

Very intense experience. I was overwhelmed by the possibilities, and somehow it felt more complex than I could grasp at the first playthrough. I died alone, err, I mean, I got a new computer with cool games.

Pluto's Tears by kestrelgames 2016-04-19T21:05:00

Pretty much the best entry I played so far. Thanks for making this!

LD38 — A Small World

The Mother of All Games by sorceress 2017-05-01T17:35:38Z

Definitely a delightfuly Ludum Dare entry. I enjoyed most of the little games, but my favorite part is the overworld with all the details!

Signal? by voxel 2017-04-25T11:06:57Z

Best game of LD38 I played and didn't make

The Treachery of Game Dev by ratking 2017-04-30T12:03:09Z

Thank you all for the comments. I will play and rate your games when the ratings are open.

@TechnoNugget: I'm never good with the theme. Usually I try to get inspired by it, but fail with doing something tightly focused on it. I then transform my concept until I have something that would be fun to make. For "Small World" thoughts went into the direction that computer games are small worlds, and that game development is like creating your own world. So I guess I just wanted to make something meta.

The Treachery of Game Dev by ratking 2017-05-01T19:58:01Z

@holgk Did you play it through? In the end, Treachery of Game Dev is "just" a puzzle game where you have to follow the instructions of your tutor.

On the other side I don't know why everything has to be totally game-y just for the sake of it. I tried to make a personal experience. That is all. There IS a goal though.

The Treachery of Game Dev by ratking 2017-05-10T15:17:56Z

@holgk Okay, because there were problems with the Mac version, so I wondered if this is why you ask such a question. I still wonder about that, especially as you apparently opened the secret chamber and should be able to proceed with the game (by solving a coding "puzzle" and talk to the NPC again).

Each room serves a purpose, with the last one (with the pillars) being the end of the game. I'm not sure what exactly you expect. Maybe you got stuck in the game, but I am not sure about that.

The Treachery of Game Dev by ratking 2017-05-13T08:09:34Z

@kaisean-games I tested the game several times and didn't notice performance problems with that part. What system do you have?

The Treachery of Game Dev by ratking 2017-05-22T06:34:39Z

@xxDOOMbox Thanks for the praise! I always hope to see more non-traditional games too, and I think Ludum Dare is a good place for it. But of course different opinions about that are okay too. ;-)

After you finished the exam, carcass tells you about a new computer in the first room. Its code might contain a hint...

Dot by euske 2017-04-25T11:16:23Z

I loved the ending!

[edit] I rated your game now. Enjoyed this entry a lot. It felt polished and like it could be a real game from the 80s.

REDBOW by PixzleOne 2017-05-07T13:05:21Z

Nice entry! I like the generated levels, and the gameplay works well.

For your next game I recommend adding a few particle effects as feedback for hitting/killing enemies. Also, I don't think having a screenshake for every arrow hitting a wall is a good idea, and without any sound a screenshake is strange.

Some power-ups would be cool, too, to make the gameplay a bit more diverse. :)

Wrong Delivery by g12345 2017-05-01T21:05:14Z

Fun little metroidvania, plays like butter.

Love the fact that I don't need to kill enemies again when I die!

Krilgor by Sheepolution 2017-05-01T15:34:00Z

Cool idea for a world/setting in a game, and how to approach it gameplay-wise. I think this could be expanded somehow.

I have no real complains about this entry, I enjoyed playing it through and the humor was great.

A Minor Madness by pi_pi3 2017-05-07T09:10:19Z

Cool, I didn't know you can do 3D games with LÖVE.

It's an interesting start und certainly a working game, but ingame feedback for anything you do is seriously lacking. Like hitting enemies or getting hit by enemies or moving to the next level. It was annoying that the intro sequence is unskippable and always plays when the game restart.

For Eternity by holgk 2017-05-01T20:46:20Z

Solid entry, but I missed a lot of feedback. I never knew what was happening - probably because I usually don't play such town building games and would need a better tutorial.

For Eternity by holgk 2017-05-10T09:01:07Z

Heya @holgk, I asked you something on my entry which you commented. You didn't react so I try it here again.

It might be that you had a problem with it because you are on a Mac. Is that right?

Hugely Unpopular President Simulator by CliffracerX 2017-05-06T11:49:40Z

Well, it's a start. Try some character models next!

I always recommend putting a bit more work into the GUI. In this case I often couldn't read what it said because the font was too small and too light.

AS Mall World by Sean S. LeBlanc 2017-05-07T08:00:55Z

Funny idea and I like the style with the billboard characters and items. Wish there were a bit less post-effects, and something to do. Could have been a little adventure maybe, you got the mechanics for it.

Mimosa Fizz by khaotom 2017-05-06T10:19:09Z

This was quite something.

Interesting idea and concept, and the world was quite eerie. Love the trails!

Flight Club by dj_pale 2017-05-03T07:51:33Z

Very nice, reminds me of a frantic MiniMetro! I didn't understand how I can circumvent hurricanes in such small timeframes, but overall I really liked the idea and the gameplay.

Paper traveller by dunin 2017-05-01T12:58:42Z

Really great idea for a game. I also like the execution a lot. I didn't hear any audio though, I wonder what the problem was.

Party in Buntingville by hectigo 2017-05-07T18:48:29Z

Very creative! Couldn't find out how to beat level 2 already, though. Somehow the winning condition was too obscure for me...

Gnome Digger by bobsleigh 2017-05-06T22:22:12Z

A solid entry. Could have a bit more variety in the gameplay, but the upgrade options are cool enough.

Dwarf World by rnlf 2017-05-01T15:32:10Z

Amazing entry overall. Puzzle mechanics are well done and the levels are friggin' hard. The only problem I had were the slow animations, but they actually annoyed me less than I thought they would.

littleBLASTplanet by gamepopper 2017-05-09T18:52:58Z

Well done! It's cute and hard and looks good - nearly perfect.

I recommend adding a bit of particle effects when killing enemies, to make it even more fun.

Conquestia by juxipolo 2017-05-08T09:55:27Z

Nice entry - I love Risk, and Dicewars. This is a great addition! Would love some sounds as feedback, and a small manual for the first steps.

Our little island by tinyworlds 2017-05-01T16:45:47Z

Pretty and picturesque entry, it absolutely succeeds in creating the right kind of mood. :)

Hopper by TechnoNugget 2017-05-01T15:22:34Z

Very polished entry, congrats! I love the minimalism. Would play it on mobile!

Space Race by feips 2017-05-07T12:59:07Z

Well done! - although much too hard for me. I'd recommend slowing the astronaut a bit down, at least at the beginning.

Tell Tjum the music is good. ;)

This Game Will Die Eventually, and So Will You by Yondermore 2017-05-07T17:00:09Z

Nice idea! Is it possible to see older messages?

Run Cola Run by valiap 2017-05-06T13:22:49Z

Couldn't get past the door with the pressure plate, but doesn't matter. =) Awesome ideas in this entry!

RoboLand by slovakyan 2017-05-09T19:21:27Z

Didn't know how to use the teleporter, but apart from that it seems like a fine game.

I concur with those who said that it is a bit obscure that you have to click the robot to start. I'd just put a small tutorial text at the beginning, and also make it impossible to place an arrow on the robot's start tile. I'd also make the camera movement a bit faster.

It looks great in any case!

Horizons by Joseph Benton 2017-05-02T19:47:17Z

A good game, there is a lot of gameplay value and most of it works well, although I often jumped by accident. I don't mind if you got the graphics from somewhere else, but you should try to make the stuff more coherent; right now some assets don't fit to the rest.

Statera by Kristian David 2017-05-08T17:06:02Z

Nice ideas in this one. Would have never thought that too many rhinos could be a problem ever ;)

World Keep-Away by dracominer 2017-05-07T17:18:52Z

Awesome story ;) I liked the intro scene.

The jump/run part was a bit clumsy, but overall I'd like to see a concept with turrets as defense mechanism in a platformer expanded.

SHAKEDOWN by LancesCaterpie 2017-05-09T08:00:34Z

Awesome mood! I didn't beat it but will definitely try it again.

Alone by mhaton 2017-05-08T09:30:26Z

Great mood!

congamoeba: the amoebic friendship simulator by Kev Adsett 2017-05-07T12:43:04Z

Nice little conga simulator =) Feels polished, now I'd like an objective please!

3D Vector Space Cab by Fell_TRSi 2017-05-01T15:06:29Z

Awesome idea to make a game for VECTREX, and testing it on actual hardware. Kudos! I wish the gameplay would progress a bit over time, but overall I enjoyed it. Got a highscore of 1788 ;-)

Entropy by SleepyStudios 2017-05-08T20:35:25Z

Awesome idea. I love when games explore the possibilities regarding multiplayer, and goals in a game.

I'd love some zooming option though, or being able to fullscreen the game. Not only the world was small, but the window too ;)

Be Like Bee by athomicus 2017-05-05T17:58:33Z

I was like bee

A Tiny Place by grahhhhhhhhh 2017-05-06T12:54:24Z

I am sorry but I couldn't play it. I die pretty much at the start without knowing why. And shooting doesn't seem to work too.

Daily Routine: the smallest worlds are the ones we get stuck in by Samurai Spark 2017-05-03T13:50:31Z

Nice experience with a message. I really liked it, even though the sound was a bit sparse.
