LD38 — A Small World

W.R.L.D. (World Reconnaissance eLite Defense) by TerraCottaFrog 2017-04-30T10:12:37Z

Oh got I sucked so hard  The gameplay is really hard but also a lot of fun! The soundtrack is really well chosen and the feedback, like the camera shake is great! The only thing I have to say is that the counter for the restart is with 10 seconds to long. In such an addictive game never let your players escape! The global highscores completes the experience.

All I can say is: congratulations on a great submission!

Toy Racer by Avon 2017-04-30T12:47:18Z

Very cool entry!

My opinion: - Great physics and mechanics - Awesome graphics with some really cool shaders - Nice level design - The music brings you in the right mood

And it really brings back the 90's for me. ^^

Awesome job!

The Treachery of Game Dev by ratking 2017-05-02T23:03:41Z

This may be one of my favortite Ludum Dare games this time! I love the concept and I even learned a few things about LUA. I tried really hard but I could not get trough the last puzzle.

liftoff by Remco 2017-04-30T18:02:50Z

Hey remco:grin:

The art and soundtrack are decent. I love how you move between the planets! But it's a bit frustrating that you miss some planets on the swing by. Or you stop at ones you didn't wont to stop at. The trading system is fun and with a little more time it could be a great part of the game.

Overall a nice compo entry!

Humanity Simulator by RabbitTortoise 2017-05-01T17:20:54Z

Hey @rabbittortoise and @tunes9 cool game!

It took me a while to get what's happening but after that it was a nice experience  The critical take on the theme is really clever. The graphics are nicely done and fits to the game. Building objects works decent. The movement ridiculous, but its enough that its cool again  The only thing is camera switching. You use static positions but you should really try a smooth camera movement with a dump. But that's all.

Nice entry you two!

World Destroyer by Move127 2017-04-30T11:22:34Z

Enjoyable gameplay with hard mechanics. The physics are a bit weird but that just increase the difficult : ) I like how you need to destroy everything on the planet to finish the level. And to be shot by your own bullet is just ridiculous  I think the sprites are good but the planets needs a makeover.

Summary it's a good entry for the LD! Keep it up!

Ionnect by AkirAssasin 2017-05-01T10:23:49Z

Nicely done @AkirAssasin,

I really like the graphics there are simple and clean. The gameplay idea itself is great! But as IkigaiSeitesu said I was gettin a bit bored after serval rounds. But I really had fun in the first 8 puzzles  Smart take on the theme. And good chemistry knowledge^^

Good job!

Pod2000 by nidup 2017-05-01T17:04:48Z

Wow really awesome text adventure!

I love the arts of the pod2000, this game is just great  Very lovely done in its details. And the soundtrack makes an awesome atmosphere. But I missed some kind of chronic for my last typed commands on the up key.

Summary a really cool entry

Mallows World Adventure by geeitsomelaldy 2017-05-01T11:39:59Z

Really cool game @geeitsomelaldy

I love the sweet little marshmallow guy :) Funny how he gets killed by fire  As AVAVT said it gets much easier to navigate after you found the map. Nice experience with cool sound and awesome pixel art. And the gameplay feels really good.

Great job!

Daydreaming Island by camilo 2017-04-30T09:07:39Z

Nice experience! I like the minimalistic pixel art and the atmosphere is damn great! The audio is well choosen and gives the special mood right from the beginning. I really liked the telescope idea in the tower but as Togis said the movement is a bit "jaggy"^^

Congratulations this is a pretty good Ludum Dare entry :)

Flight Club by dj_pale 2017-04-30T22:26:31Z

Nice entry!

I like the pressure of time you have while playing. The pixel art map looks quite accurate  But sometimes I never know why I lost the game. Some indicator why I died would be nice :)

Overall you did a really good job!

Icarus Isolation by King Kujito 2017-04-29T00:03:40Z

The aesthetics of the game are amazing, I just love the look and feel you created! Besides you got a bonus with me, cause those islands in the sky like in Zelda: Skyward Sword are just one of my favorite things a game can have! Also the ambient sound really adds to the overall mood of the game.

But your camera and controls make a perfekt game to be "just" a really great game. Sometimes I could neither turn left nor right, sometimes i could. Sometimes I could change the y-axis with the arrow keys, sometimes could not. And the camera really should reset after you died, I often found myself stuck in a top-down camera angle.

But still, I love the Idea and the visuals as well as the atmosphere of the game are brilliant!

Lonely Spaceman by bloodyaugust 2017-04-30T14:03:59Z

A little but nice entry,

reminded me of interstellar  There are not that many graphics but the existing are lovely. Bring some more variety to the gameplay and it could be a great mobile title!

Samurai Spark

Cosmonaut Pavel Tokarev by tangiblegames 2017-04-28T14:12:41Z

I really love the atmosphere you were able to create within this short time period! Also this game has quite a nice art style! The Input feels tight and the random generation of the level really helped to motivate myself after dying the first time. So overall it was a cool experience and it deserves 5 stars for the mood of the game! The fact that most of the rooms have no visual difference besides the things floating inside made it hard to orient myself, but that could have been intentional.

Although i encountered a bug you might want to change, sometimes the doors to the bright yellow room don't open. Once i could not get in, the other time i could not get out.

But what will be a real deal breaker for you guys is that generally people do not want to install any third-party libarys for playing a single game, for the next LD you really have to change that fact!

Annulus by Zarkonnen 2017-05-01T12:48:42Z

Awesome idea @zarkonnen!

Thats a really clever take on the theme! The graphics and soundtrack are lovely and fit perfect to the game. The camerashots are great but it's a bit annoying that the camera zooms every time I click on something. Also I had some problems with the selection of items but that does not destroy the experience at in anyway  Love that you can climb on the top of the loop :)

Very well made entry!

Edge of the Abyss by piscythe 2017-05-03T10:38:14Z

Hey @piscythe nice entry!

This is a good working RTS, really nicely done for 48 hours! The gameplay itself is smooth and the different types of troops and buildings bring multiple strategy elements. As @oberynmartell noticed the balance is a small problem. Oh and after the 7-8 retry my cultist unit began to move 3 times as fast as before. But that doesn't effect the fun at all.

Great job mate!

Snowed In by nuclearfriend 2017-04-28T16:00:29Z

As said in the other comments the narration is amazing and really made me smile! Also the visual style of the game really adds to the whole fairtytale snowglobe idea.

Great game! Is Adrian a professional voice actor?

Neuroso by gamechoy 2017-05-05T20:41:26Z

That's a really AWESOME entry!

I love the message and the way you tell it. That style of the game is very charismatic and reminds me at Undertale, great compliment! The dialogues are quite enjoyable and made me laugh some times, "Spider Clowns" I agree with @adheison, atm you can skip to easily the conversions, but the dialogues are very important to the guidance of the player. The soundtrack fits the mood and situations perfectly. Love the music then you talk with the masks. The arts were more than dense and very lovely, good job! But one thing, our entries share the same fate: The average LD users doesn't have the stamina to play our games till the end. But in both games the end is important to the experience.

Keep it on, we appreciate your effort and creativity!

Toy Time Turbo by BadRAM 2017-04-30T13:58:12Z

Nicely done game!

The hardest part is to control the physics to really do what you want  But I like that. :) The art is decent and I had a lot of fun.

Good entry!

Planetary Defense Force by TeamMonumental 2017-04-30T14:41:44Z

Pretty cool idea guys!

Best tower defense of the jam  Graphics are fine and the sound is good. Loved the planets movement in their orbits  Catching the loot is also fun and you got a nicely done death animation. ^^

Great work!

Astromike by mikea 2017-04-30T12:10:37Z

Just played trough the levels. The low poly art is just amazing for a Ludum Dare! Well done! Also the mechanics are well done. The only bug I encountert is that after I died I could still move my floating body over the map. And just for a post LD version: Maybe it would be better if there was a little explanation text every time you get a new item, it took me a while to realise I just got a weapon to shoot with.

But overall fantastic fun gameplay paired with a really great atmosphere!

The Taker by Epicsoft 2017-04-30T19:01:33Z

Nice idea!

Acutally it works very well but I think your navmesh agents crashing the fps. I really liked the tanks.

Good job, keep it up!

42-Mikronikus by Cambryx 2017-05-01T12:53:18Z

First you really did a great job with your tutorial! Many games that would have needed one more than yours did not have one and yours explains the mechanics so well that even a monkey would understand it!

The minimalistic vector graphics are also loveley and those eyes reminded me so much at the fun I had when staring super mario 64 back in the day!

It is a great game! For a post jam version you could definetly add some sort of upgrade mechanic to the planets.

Awesome!

Tabletop Arena by tyranosaw 2017-05-02T20:19:21Z

Great game I'm lovin it

I had a lot of fun with this is entry, the gameplay is fantastic! The pixel art is just awesome! The soundtrack is one the best on the jam (Very catchy) And the mobile on the tutorial was a nice idea, which helped me to get the gameplay or at least it told me how to dash xD The wizards are hard as hell I think the enemy with long sword was much easier, except that I had a lack of health because of the wizard  But I would really increase the attack speed of the player. Oh and I love that heart coffee for some reasons :)

Guys you did a fantastic job and I hope for a post jam version!

Beer in Mind by pixelstuff 2017-04-28T15:38:19Z

Great game! As germans this just has to be one of our favorites. I love the visual style, did you drew the ink-like background in photoshop or is it a vector graphic?

The dialog is entertaining and it is great that you guys got to implement the change in difficulty through the different days! It may be my fault, but what kept me from playing more is that I wasn't sure how I could determine who I served the beer to? I always lost because I served it to a minor, some expanation of the process would have been great! Overall a really fun and artisticly polished game!

Tiny Tony by Firewill 2017-04-28T15:17:15Z

I actually feel a bit sad that I could not reunite Tony with his girlfried. But I feel like you really nailed the fairytale-like atomsphere in this game! I just love the mood this game puts you into!

Although there are a few things I want to notice, even when playing it in fullscreen it was quite hard to look at the tiny ball which represent the play, when I started the game it actually took me a while to even figure out what the player is. And I don't know about the last level because I did not get that far, but the third one might be a bit too frustrating, although the music does a good job at calming me down again.

Caturday is today by DemyHallar 2017-04-30T13:38:52Z

Hey demyhallar and fedoccio

This game is cuteness heaven  I'm a big cat fan and this cute fluffy ball is just adorable  The gameplay is something different which I like, with funny QTEs. Nice soundtrack btw.

Good job!

Polar Protector by AlexHoratio 2017-04-30T12:02:08Z

I REALLY enjoyed this one! Great pixelart and simple but fun mechanics. Took me a while how to absorb other elements but after that it was awesome  Still hearing the soundtrack, really catchy. Oh and cool time laps btw.

Well done!

WATEREVER by Denny 2017-04-30T22:50:36Z

I really want to play this, because sound design and visuals are superb! But I have to tell you guys I really did not get how this game works, I could not finish the first level due to a lack of instructions.

Although what I saw looked fantastic!

The Cockroach Lessons by Ibispi 2017-05-01T16:49:55Z

Nicely done endless runner @ibispi!

The dodging shoes or fly swatter makes fun. The soundtrack is good choosen. But what your game need is some king of counter to give player feedback.

Overall a cool entry

Run Cola Run by valiap 2017-05-07T10:51:04Z

Really cool entry. I love Nuka Cola

The gameplay itself is very funny and the physics feels great. The fx and soundtrack fits nicely to the game and were professional made. The graphics are lovely and the color palette is well chosen. The achievements were a good idea to keep your users playing. Unlike the other I enjoyed the catapult part. But sadly I got stuck under the wheel thing behind the pressure door.

Summary: Good job guys, keep it up!

Small Planet Tycoon by Querk 2017-04-30T12:31:13Z

Cool idea! The graphics are simple but decent. The building possibilitys where hold compact and useful. But I had some problems with placing the buildings.

I think this is a great entry, keep it up!

Small Obstacles by digitaldude555 2017-05-01T10:44:01Z

Nice puzzle game @digitaldude555,

I enjoyed the mechanics and the arts were simple and clean  As KabalaTrance said I'd love to see more content. But with a little more time and work you can build a really cool game!

Good job mate!

Planet Of The Precursors by ThatSnillet 2017-05-01T13:27:39Z

Great respect for making a 3D game with this period @thatsnillet!

The atmosphere in the dungeons works very well. The Jump and Run parts are difficult but funny! And those Precursors were really creepy in the dark  But the movement and camera control doesn't feel right at the moment.

But anyways congratulation to this cool entry

High Society Poking Enthusiasts by Dev Dennis 2017-05-01T10:36:14Z

Thank you for variety @dev-dennis

I love the poke idea and that king-fish was just ridiculous funny! It's a clever take on the theme and pretty innovative in its own way xD The atomsphere was really great at the intro, loved that. Maybe weird but great entry :) But you have to improve the controls a bit, there aren't feeling perfect at the moment.

Overall really nice job

Super Snowman Spider Showdown Supreme by TheClintHennesy 2017-05-02T16:05:07Z

Wow, the first Ludum Dare game I played so far with a real option menu. First off, props to Clint for this amazing art! I just fell in love with that right away!

In a post jam version some sfx to have a bit more feedback on shooting and hitting would be nice. And I am not sure if a visual indicator from where the enemys are coming would help or get annoying, you'd have to try that out. Also you should balance the difficulty a bit and scale it more gradually.

Those are just some suggestions, I know how hard the time pressure is on LD and what you guys were able to pull of in three days is amazing!

May I Come In? by IkigaiSeitetsu 2017-05-01T09:52:27Z

I really liked the take on the theme!

Cool concept with sweet graphics. I needed some time to figure out that I have to drag when on the head. But it was worth it  The music is well choosen and fits great.

Nicely done guys!

Supernova by Veralos 2017-04-30T11:42:46Z

The pixel art is pretty good and the space look great. The gameplay is simple but can bring fun. I'd love to see more activities on the planets. But that just means there is a lot more fun you can archive with this game and a little bit of time  Oh and the audio is fantastic, really catchy!

Good job!

Ark of the new world by jojocanard 2017-04-30T22:52:02Z

Very intressting idea!

I really like the random element. You never know which wrath hits the small guys next. The pixelart is great. Needed some time to figure out how the gameplay works. But worth it!

Really nice take on the theme

Wood Womb by sheep42 2017-04-30T12:16:20Z

This game was made for me  I'm a big cat fan and I love mine but oh boy there destruction percent is at 80. Cool, small and ridiculously funny. 10/10 paws. And I like the hypno toad! One of the best ideas I've seen. The arts are nice aswell, did you use spine for the animations?

Fantastic job

Advanced Mitosis by Endurion 2017-05-02T19:45:21Z

Nice concept @endurion!

I really liked the puzzles. The level with the two amoebas in the upper corners and the maximum size is quite hard! The thing I like at most is eating the food from another amoeba before it can reach it  I agree with @multitudes22 that a pathfinding system would be a great improvment, keep working the game is worth it

Summary a really good job!

Conquer Earth by Lars DK 2017-04-30T18:47:50Z

Nicely done Lars!

Took me a while to figure out the drag and drop mechanics but after that, I had really fun! The depth of the interaction possibilities there a lot more than I though on the first sight. The soundtrack is pretty well chosen, for the gameplay. And I love your drawings

Keep it up

Protect by M-1 2017-04-29T18:58:04Z

Cool small rhythm game! I like the screen shake when you fail. Did you use an perlin noise algorithm? Minimalistic and fun

Blocknauts! by EndlessPlumber 2017-04-30T09:55:04Z

LOVE the small robot  It took me a while in order to cope with the jetpack and leave the start planet. Looking around on every planet for the missing parts is really fun. But how do you made the wire frame model of the rocket? Looks amazing! To be honest I was getting a bit ill from the camera controls after about 10 minutes (weak stomach xD).

Although overall it's a great entry

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-04-30T19:25:57Z

Your cat is cute!

Nicely done entry! A 3D project for the compo deserves respect! But to be honest I tried 5 times to find what I'm supposed to do, but never figured it out. In the dialogues you write about some buttons are these the green lights in the ship? I'd love to see some kind of restart function and a small tutorial but overall a good entry! Oh and the fx fits the mood of the game very well. :)

Funny idea!

Little Sprout Garden by Valmay 2017-04-30T12:36:14Z

The Visuals are just superb.. ! I love those little cute guys, as you can see!

screen.png

Although having even some kind of an objective would have been really nice, this game is just too cute and well polished that I could find something to not like about it. It is just amazing what you were able to pull off in just 3 days!

Murder Mitosis by _for_science 2017-04-29T03:16:37Z

Just tried it, I really like your idea for the theme! It is a really cool concept and I am happy to see some multiplayer games to come out of this jam! I had to play just with the AI for now, but I bet the fun multiplies just as those creatures do when you have some friends around.

My only questionmark was that I was constantly asking myself why my (health?) bar gets filled up. How does this starving system actually work and why does it refill even if I do almost nothing (like right when you start) ?

Legends Of Block by sagarpatel25700 2017-05-01T10:04:28Z

Hey @sagarpatel25700 nice entry!

Okay the characters are just blocks but I really LOVED the physics! There are pretty well made and gave me really fun experience. I like that you have a life bar and that your not dead after one hit. You choose a really catchy soundtrack which helps the game a lot  Didn't had a single bug in my play time, good job.

Thanks for that

ZEUS VS MOLES by Fouralex 2017-04-29T17:46:10Z

I love the 3D pixel art style! The gameplay is very simple and easy to learn nevertheless it still makes fun  But you should really resize the game in your itch.io settings

Colorfly by Zelos 2017-05-02T15:49:57Z

This game has the best music I have seen so far in this Ludum Dare! Amazing Work! Just two minor things, I would have liked a bit of variation with the sound that plays if you plant a tree, just two or three different samples would have been great. Also the fast "fly out" animation of the butterfly does pull me out of the experience a bit.

Other than that this is just a great experience! (Yes, I know I used the word "experience" already but it is just the best word to describe what I felt playing it!)

Small Kingdoms by anarbitrarymustache 2017-04-30T10:26:03Z

Cool entry! The gameplay is easy to learn. The art is simple but nice^^ I was missing a lack of strategy but this could be easy solved with a few more abilities. Have you thought about an android/ios port of this? I think with a bit more time this could be an amazing title

Good job!

Soleil by JoyFired 2017-04-30T09:34:30Z

Pretty hard jump and run^^ Tried about 20 times to jump on that small green cube. Damn you green cube! The audio especially the menu is really good. The physics are a bit weird but I can understand you. Wasted 5 hours for not working physics for my LD entry... Overall your entry is a very hard good one :)

Globe Trot by Richard Michael Smith 2017-04-30T18:39:15Z

Richard you did a great job!

The gameplay itself is very enjoyable and I love the keyboard controls. Soundtrack and fx fits the gameplay well and brings you into the right mood. But I'd love a restart function without getting kicked out into the main menu. Never let your players escape.

But I still don't know if I was fighting space cucumbers, anyways I like them. ^^

Awesome work!

Rise of the Termites by Togis 2017-04-29T18:49:09Z

I appreciate the easy gamedesign. The game itself has a lot more content than it looks on the first sight. The building part is great especially than you played fallout shelter

Icebearino by friday 2017-05-02T18:11:01Z

Hey @krarl and @friday

I really like the critical take on the theme. At the beginnig I had some struggles with the size of the bear and the size of ice floes. But after some rounds I learned to calculate that. The gameplay itself makes fun and the soundtrack really fits the mood  But thoese poor pinguens  Anyways really a nice entry!

Good job

Headspace by fueelin 2017-05-17T10:34:10Z

I really LOVED this one.

The graphics and sound are just great and really fit to the atmosphere. The solution of the puzzles are unique and require thinking outside the box. (That's the part I liked at most.) The message is lovely and a great reminder for everyone how's having a hard time. Oh and I think we both had the same strange basic idea for this LD xD One of the reasons why I sympathize with this entry so much^^

Great experience @fueelin I appreciate your brave for this experimental concept, keep it up!

In Defense of a Dragon by d3zmodos 2017-05-01T10:17:10Z

Cool idea @d3zmodos!

That you scale the camera, speed and map after each round is an awesome idea I have never seen before! The gameplay makes fun even after serveral rounds. I'd love to see more different enemy types or buildings. But with a bit more work this could be an awesome game

Great job mate!

Lunar Depot 38 by eevee 2017-04-29T14:47:03Z

That game is just cuteness heaven! I didn't see many Ludum Dare games with that level of charm. The art style is very unique and I love your choice of colors! I wonder if the floor kibble actually does anything if you could buy it.

By the way I really adore the little cutscenes in the beginning, for a Ludum Dare a well polished game!

The only thing i would recommend is not to make the game start in such a small window.

Sling Ship 🌏 by Quoclon 2017-05-01T14:13:02Z

Really fleshed out concept! The mechanics work really well and it makes you wanna try over and over again to beat the level. Although I have to say a little tutorial as well as a little more scale in difficulty would make it a lot easier for firt time players! Also I would remove the quit button on the web build cause it doesen't do anything.

Overall a really great submission for this Ludum Dare!

Beelzebub Awakening by Paradise Lost Dev 2017-04-30T13:52:32Z

Good entry paradise-lost-dev!

The gameplay itself is smooth and with the rouge like style, it's really fun. I enjoyed the messages on the walls. Music is good and helps the atmosphere greatly.

But sometimes the camera slows down and it looks not quite smooth enough. With a little more time you could make it a really cool game!

Nicely done!

Classical Conditioning Cooperation - [CCC] by AwesomeAlliterationAlliance 2017-05-01T18:31:55Z

Really great idea guys!

I like the puzzles a lot. The gameplay is pretty cool. The more mice you have the harder gets the riddles. At first I had some problems with rotating the mice, but after I found the pause mode it got much easier to make the little guys to do what I want^^ And that art style is fantasic ! Very professional. The soundtrack really fits the mood perfectly  I had a lot of fun with your entry

Gut gemacht Leute!

Happy Little Guys :) by smunders 2017-04-29T14:07:55Z

The little guys are really cute :) I like the simple gameplay mechanics, but a 1 or 2 more levels and a way to lose or win would be great!

Landshift by undefinist 2017-04-30T12:23:28Z

@undefinist Great little game! With those minimalistic tiles it does look and feel very polished for a compo submission! I could really see me playing this on mobile while traveling or something! Although I agree with the comments that it could be a bit too hard right from the start, so for a future version some kind of scaling of difficulty would be very nice. But still amazing work for just 48 hours, I like it!

Quantum Catburetor by jushiip 2017-04-29T20:25:35Z

The arts, sound and gameplay combined are amazing. The movement is smooth and the perks bring extra fun. Congratulation to such an successful Ludum Dare entry!

And I LOVE the cat! Purrrfect character

AstroGunner by KabalaTrance 2017-05-01T11:09:13Z

Nicely done @kabalatrance,

the used fx and soundtrack brings a creepy mood to this. And great job with the camera, it makes it a much more stylish experience! But I died 4 times in a row because enemies spawned around me  The gameplay itself feels good. But I'd love to see more weapons.

Cool entry!

Race against ferrum gigantes by JScotty 2017-05-02T16:22:23Z

My highscore so far:

score.png

Try to beat me!

I really like your take on the theme, the only thing I would have liked is some more feedback when the robots crush you, that needs to feel more devastating.

Daily Routine: the smallest worlds are the ones we get stuck in by Samurai Spark 2017-04-27T01:07:18Z

@tombuston Thank you for your feedback! We actually had a more realistic football game implemented, using Unitys physic engine. But we had to cut it out due to some bugs that caused the players to be unable to score a goal sometimes.

Daily Routine: the smallest worlds are the ones we get stuck in by Samurai Spark 2017-04-27T19:28:08Z

@drazil100 Yes it did not went so well for us in the stream. But you wouldn't believe how grateful we are that you gave it a second chance! It is not easy for a game to let people discover the "twist" themselves and on the other hand deal with the fact that people don't have that much time to play a single ludum dare submission.

@xmatos Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you liked it that much! That was intended, actually their are many little things build into the gamplay as well as the graphics to support the message. We don't want to tell exactly which because we want people to find it out for themselves.

@king-kujito Next time every comment gets a box of cereal.

@kcreanor Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed the humor.

@philomory Yes, we realised that this is the most "risky" part of the whole idea, because if you dont realise it, you just find yourself in a mostly boring loop, although that is kind of the idea.

@firewill Thank you for your kind feedback! Nice to see that we could make you smile.

@for-science Thank you! That is exactly what we wanted to achieve!

@tn7111 Thanks! We are glad you gave it a second chance!

@thefunattic Yeah we really wanted to add some music, but you know... time.. We will take the time to check your game out!

@daniel-alhadeff, @querk, @camilo, @sheep42, @dj-pale Thank you all for your awesome feedback!

@baconinvader Yeah, we could do a spoiler warning for the comments, but that would be a spoiler in it self.

@m-1 You sir are amazing! We didn't even knew that was possible and this got us thinking, see the newest blog post!

@demyhallar We would have liked to add more to the game, but Ludum Dare.. you know what we mean.

@cameron-seebach Yes that's how someone is supposed to discover it! Music is definitely somthing that we would have loved to implement and something which would really added to the experience.

@simonhutchinson Thank you! And yes if we decide to do a post jam version there will be some BGM!

@crazi456 We added a little competition for people who are in need of some cereal after playing the game.

@quoclon This is exactly how we wanted it to play out! And yes we will be happy to check out your game!

@veralos If there would be a messaging feature on the site we would tell it to you, but we do not want to do this in the comments section. Also we could not reproduce this. If anyone else encounters this please tell us in the comments!

@ibispi, @awesomealliterationalliance, @grena, @arcticmattekar, @rodrigo-denubila, @kaisean-games @ice-t Thanks to all you guys for the amazing comments and feedback!

@heinrix, @ratking Thank you and yes audio is definetly something we want to improve for the next LD we take part in.

@lepatryckduffy That is exactly what we wanted to say! We wish you only the best for your upcoming game development career!

@pogo, @rabbittortoise We are glad you guys gave it a second play!

@remco Thank you for the kind words and for noticing so much about the game! All hints get stronger over the days in one way or the other, the problem right now is that players tend to quit after Day 2 if they did not noticed anything up to this point. We actually thought excatly the same regarding BGM, that is why we only wanted to implement it when there is some time left. It definetly would have to be very subtle kind of music.

@veralos Happy to hear you got the right password after all and thank you so much for taking the time to try it a second time!

@samusoidal We did not intend to have a great replay value, once you reached the ending scene. It should be a unique onetime experience.

@redpanda Yes, our problem is that so many people seem to quit after day 2, without noticing the hints. Although we did not want them to be too obvious and rather have player find them by themselves.

@drestuff We would love to hear about that score!

My first entry: Planet Invaders by Inworks 2017-05-02T18:27:43Z

@inworks a 3D game for a compo entry deserves deep respect

good job with the arts! I really like the colors and the low poly style is very cool. And the fast paced gameplay makes fun  But you should really stay at the good old WASD for the movement :)

Overall a good entry, keep it up!

FUEL by KCreanor 2017-04-28T14:51:09Z

For someone who gets quite easy into rage mode I should not have played this!

But the controls feel pretty responsive so I can't blame the game for my constant failures. Overall a really fun game, I might even give it another shot and try to finish it next time!

Bubblenaut by TheFunAttic 2017-04-29T17:41:19Z

This is such a beautiful game! I don't know if this sounds weird but I love the background texture! Also you guys finally managed to have a perfect little tutorial which explains the mechanics simple and understandable, this is something many submissions failed to do!

Altough I glitched and got stuck in the last level, this is overall a great little game with good sound, good gameplay and a unique art style! Love it!

Space Honey: The adventure of Little-Bee 🐝 by thiagowaw 2017-04-30T17:23:05Z

Professional pixel art and and very interesting idea. But that damn wasp stole my honey every time :sob: The controls were good and after I found out that I'm dying if I'm not returning to the honeycomb I had a lot of fun. The art is pretty amazing, especially the planets.

Great job thiagowaw!

MITOA by xmatos 2017-04-29T18:15:44Z

The pixelart is well done. And the puzzels are nice, but that apple killed me  A visual effect for the blowing wind that blocks my way would be really nice to have, but still a good ld game!

good job! Well done arts and fx ! Looks professional! The bunny are really damn cute  Saw you with your feed on the first or second LD day. Also the gameplay feels nice and is enjoyable to control.

Great entry you two!

God's Paw by Team_Souris 2017-04-30T22:21:49Z

Hey there! Me, my team-mate and one other random person just played this at the same time. I am totally amazed how you guys made the effort to make your submission an online game! Playing it was really fun and I found the game mechanics to be really intuitive as well as easy to understand.

Of course the game is a bit unbalanced with 3 players, for a Ludum Dare this is totally understandable but for a post jam version there has to be some form of AI for balancing! I think I could even see me playing a full version of this. The problem you will always have as a small dev team is to get started and have enough people playing it at the same time, because people right now would tend to just instantly log out when nobody else is around.

FREEDUMB! by Brothers Arcade 2017-05-03T18:10:06Z

Good job @brothers-arcade!

You read so many useless tweets until that one clue shows up and you know exactly how is in need for some freedom. I just love the critical/satire take on the theme. The pixel art is very lovely and great done. Sadly you can't nuke yourself :( The music is well chosen and fits perfectly.

Thank you for making me laugh

Nicely done!

High Noon Robots by RoxXx88 2017-05-07T21:21:12Z

I only played the survival mode, although I really liked the mechanic of bullets being able to fly over the whole planet, come back and hit someone in the back. I imagine this could be a lot of fun in multiplayer, I actually would have liked a normal mode with some AI buddy more than the "survival mode". But I think you guys could do something really amazing with this idea! Well made submission for this LD!

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-09T10:41:49Z

Hey @Tex-Killer!

Really cool entry. I love art style even it's simple or maybe that's why. The gameplay feels nice and the shrinking element is something you don't see every day. Really liked that! Sadly the game is a bit short but as the others mentioned: There is a lot of potential, keep working on it!

Summary a nicely done game, good job

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

SCRAMBLED by aurel 2017-12-28T12:05:16Z

Wow that was a really great entry!

The amount of content which you archived within this jam is amazing. At first a 3D project for a jam is a ambitiously thing but you did it :) The graphic were really well-made and the effects were beautiful. The audio is really professional fits the mood perfectly. The gameplay itself were a bit glitchy as the others mentions but that didn't affect the great immersive adventure experience for me. The double jump boots were a really cool idea. Sadly even after serval try I didn't managed to get the 10 eggs (damn you bucket knights xD ) With a little bit more work I can definitely see a feature for this game.

Overall I just can say awesome job guys!

Glowing Meadow by Ekilibr 2017-12-08T19:29:01Z

Guys this is a really awesome game!

Its absolutely beautiful to look at and the sound fits perfect to the mood. Its very well polished. The gameplay is minimalistic and very relaxing. Two little Notes:

1. I stuck right before the first big leaf because there were no new green plants. 2. And indicator on the "good" plants before they dry out would be nice (or maybe I just missed it^ ^)

Overall I love it fantastic job!

The Darkest Light by zblah 2017-12-07T14:50:26Z

Hey folks, really nice game! The audio and mood are superb. The atmosphere is just awesome. The idea itself is very interesting and really well executed I agree with the others that the movement feels kinda static.

But hey its Ludum Dare I can feel with you  Great job!

Mr. Capital! by fluidvolt 2017-12-08T15:27:01Z

Hey @fluidvolt!

Absolutely enjoyable entry  I loved the puzzles they were really clever made but not unfair. You really know something about level design. The pixel art is minimalistic but well done. The Backgroundmusic is very nice and I love the satisfying coin FX

Great job!

Hey guys, really awesome entry here!

I just love the cute little (or big) guy  The graphics were very well done and the audio is very addicting. The gamplay itself was very entertaining and has a good replay value. Thank you for this I had a really good time :)

Santa's Delivery Service by Bizbud 2017-12-07T15:01:04Z

Hey folks, reeaalllly nice work here! I just love the low poly art style. Its damn great executed and colors are very well chosen. The atmosphere is really wonderful and the audio fits the mood perfectly! The gameplay itself is very entertaining so I played it over and over again. Sadly my highscore is 1

Overall awesome job!

Somni by Timestop 2017-12-08T14:39:36Z

Hey guys!

You really did a wonderful job here. The story is fantastic and mood is very nice. The art is superb and the music absolutely addicting! The bad end was quite a shock for me :sweat_smil e: The Puzzles where well and satisfying. Oh and I did encounter any bugs on my way to the end.

Overall amazing job!

Chasing Syrinx by Lugdumdare Team 2017-12-08T16:09:29Z

Hey @elemental-zeal-game-studios,

really cool entry. The graphics were superb, beautiful design! The audio is awesome and really fit the mood. The mechanics itself were really nice. But sadly the gameplay has some problems. I think they could be easy fixed with a parala x scrolling background, this would really help theorientation of the player. But I still think the gameplay has lot of potential.

Overall awesome entry guys!

Pajuu - Always With You by Samurai Spark 2017-12-07T02:56:38Z

Thank you all for your feedback! We are very happy that you enjoyed our entry.

@Tad, @Angelonias, @donut_daria We to took your advice and made the game now beatable at all. During the jam we focused too much on the visual side of the game that we didn't had time to make play tests. To be fair to all other participants, the original version can still be found on our itch.io page.

Pajuu - Always With You by Samurai Spark 2017-12-07T18:32:27Z

Hey @neoxing and @pepri,

Thank you for your feedback! At first we had alot of struggle to come up with a unique idea to the theme. After a lot of thinking we decided to go for something like "the more the player uses his mechanic, the worse his situation gets".

The mechanic being the warm mechanic and the situation in this case is the snow storm and your danger to freeze to death. So the more you use your scarf, the more it fades away, increasing your exposure to the cold. But we think that this might not come through as well as we had it planned out in our minds.

Pajuu - Always With You by Samurai Spark 2017-12-08T12:49:11Z

Hey guys,

thank you guys for the nice input! We are very happy that you enjoyed the game and the experience.

@OldPeculier Yeah because of the cutscenes and visuals we didn't had the time to polish the gameplay completely. And to answer the "What’s up with the scarf and warming?" part:

**!!!Spoiler alert!!!**

*The scarf represents the mother. Her will and love guides her child trough the relentless cold and warms him on his path to the better place where she wanted him to bring. *

**!!!Spoiler alert!!!**

Pajuu - Always With You by Samurai Spark 2017-12-09T18:43:19Z

At first thank you all for your kind feedback :) @Aviland and @Naca yeah you're right the flipping point is the center of his head not the body. That's because of the scarf. The problem was when we moved his local position it began to totally freak out and stretcht about the whole world. During the short time of the jam we needed a quick solution, so that's why he flips at his head. Hope we could bring more clarity. We definitely fix this in the future!

Pooch Parade by pmarincak 2017-12-08T16:16:36Z

Hey @pmarincak,

I really love what you did here  Its a simplistic but enjoyable game. The pixel art is cute and nicely done and the audio fits perfect to the mood. The gameplay itself is entertaining and it has a nice replay value :)

Really nice job

Amitosis by Pixel Maniacs 2017-12-13T22:21:11Z

Hey @Pixel-Manicas!

we played your entry in multiplayer and singleplayer-mode and I have to say... it's pretty awesome! The idea and the execution is absolutely creative and unique. Definitely never played something like this before.

You hit the theme perfectly and I mean really just perfect 10/10. But at this point I found the only complication with this game, my experience was as follows: I wachted some gameplay and I liked it, but honestly I was confused what's going on. So I watched the tutorial and I was still confused. It took me about 2-3 rounds to understand what I'm doing in this game. Okay the blame is on my side too, because I read your "how to play" afterwards. I would recommend to make the tutorial a little more understandable, with things like colored main characters and projectiles for each player. But! This was just a reeaaally minor problem on a such a great jam game.

As I mentioned before the game is outstanding creative in each way. The gameplay itself was really cool to play after I got it. It's simple and fun, that's all you want and need from a jam game. Props on that. And it's definitely a great joy in multiplayer, thank you for implementing that!

The graphics were just beautiful and I love the background design with it's bouncing movement. The models, FX, textures and everything is absolutly fantastically polished. The colors were well chosen and I can say just one screenshot of the game would be enough to fall in love with it (at least it worked for me). Oh and the character design is sooo cute!

The audio was in a nice harmony with the mechanics and the design. It was absolutely professional and greatly supported the humor. And somehow I can't stop hearing it, that how it should be! ^^

Maybe I repeat myself but: Awesome job! I can certainly see a feature for this game. Maybe with things like upgrades for the pewpews(xD) or further evolutions of the player in a match.

Boy that went a bit more text than I expected. Well anyways, thank you making this and keep up the great work!

Golden Valkyrie by JOZGames 2017-12-23T19:01:30Z

Hey @jozgames,

nice entry! It's minimalistic and very well done. I just love the character design  Even with the lack of animation frames the Valkyrie is just beautiful! The paralaxing background made cool effect. Some kind of sky or clouds would be neat. The sound really fit the mood, well chosen.

The gameplay itself was very entering and addictive. The mechanic of the spinning rod was great! My highlight of the game was the throwing fx of the rod, it's sooo satisfying. It's very impressive that you could create a leaderboard within the time. Oh and the gold mechanic definitely hit the theme. Sadly I couldn't make it to the scoreboard even after serval trys^^"

I could definitely see a feature for this game. With different types of weapons or ultimates.

Overall absolutely awesome job!

Guinea Post - Rodent Delivery by Deke 2017-12-11T22:16:21Z

Hey @deke!

where should we start, I played your game all through the end and I have to say… awesome job!

The idea is definitely unique, at least I never played something like this before. The later levels were really fun and the constantly new mechanics which come with each day didn’t let me stop playing.

At first, I didn’t get why you choose the E,F,J,O keys, it seemed a bit weird. But the longer I played the more I got the feeling of sitting in this small post offices and do my daily job (in a fun way). An unexpected but very nice immersion

What I really liked was the random character generator. (The names got me a few smiles^^) I’m amazed that you made all the different characters in that short time. The artstyle is really nice, the audio well chosen and fits perfectly to the mood. But my favorite part of the game was the smashing FX its soooo satisfying even after hearing it a hundred times. Props for that^^

One little note: Keep the time limit at the first two days shorter like 1-2 minutes, they’re pretty easy and a bit boring while no new customer arrives.

But this is a minor problem and didn’t affect the experience.

Overall funtastic game!

PS: Seeing your avatar, foxes FTW!

Rabbits Rains From Above by KeiLazu 2017-12-08T15:36:39Z

Hey @keilazu

Really nice entry! Its minimalistic but enjoyable. The audio were a bit too loud but had a really good flow. The gameplay itself is nice and motivating. As the others said the pacing between the start and the later parts is a bit too difficult. But hey I enjoyed it anyways

Good job!

PS: The rabbits are sooo sweet

Kittychaos by larkinia 2017-12-08T15:15:06Z

Hey folks,

I really loved that entry. Its so relaxing and simple. The idea of the daily life of a kitten is just too cute  The pixel art is really well done and the audio fits the gameplay just perfect. Oh and the child grabbing up every stuff it sees made me really lough xD

Thank you for this! I had a really good time.

MultiCaring by Kurupapuru 2017-12-09T16:33:56Z

Hey @Kurupapuru at first congratulations for your first successful LD!

The game is ridiculous fun I love the physics and the cute little guys  I like how it gets more and more chaotic with every single pet. It took me a round to get the scroll and fridge mechanics and I would speed up the mouse scroll a bit. But these are minor things, overall an awesome entry!

Oh and the most important thing: My cat find your game absolutely fascinating.

Great job and 5 paws from my cat

IntenSEAty by Casper 2017-12-07T14:40:49Z

Hey guys, nice entry! The visuals are great and the sound fits perfectly to the gameplay! The gameplay itself feels very smooth and has a high replay value. But sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed of the count of enemy attacks.

Overall awesome work!

Catdventure by Andreas Ragen Ayal 2017-12-08T18:07:14Z

Hey @Andreas-Ragen-Ayal

very very nice entry! :) I loved the simple mechanics and gameplay it was really enjoyable and fun. The pixel art were well-made and the audio was just perfect for the gameplay! I had a lot of fun with the physics, whose were my favorite^^

Finally, a really awesome game, good job

Wonder Tsum by regisrquoi 2017-12-08T15:01:09Z

Oh god guys this is sooo sweet

the art is great and I can stop hearing that addicting soundtrack. The puzzles were clever made and neither to hard nor to easy. The mood is great I felt very relaxed and good while playing. It would be a perfect mobile game, keep that in mind! Just one little thing I would let the wheels turn about 10% faster while the player is moving them.

Finally, wonderful entry!
