LD22 — Alone

Cirque du Seul by ian_snyder 2011-12-20T22:26:00

Very beautiful and immersive. Congratulations.

Void by Tex Killer 2011-12-27T01:16:00

Thank you all for your comments.

SparkCloud and MurrayL, could you please tell me your computers specifications? Any detail given on the error would be apreciated as well.

Lava Jumper by Skriglitz 2012-01-06T01:26:00

Sorry dude, but it was unplayable here as well, with about 3000 FPS. You should activate VSync or something, and use the time to decide the movement, not the frame count.

ROM CHECK FAIL WITHOUT A CAUSE by ExciteMike 2011-12-25T18:11:00

Very good experience but I don't understand the link with the theme.(2)

LD28 — You Only Get One

The Visitor by Jezzamon 2013-12-29T07:27:00

Nice game! I feel like I duplicated the Mayor, but that is OK lol
Also, you need to be at an exact spot to win the game

Rick and The Ghost by TheGamingProject 2013-12-26T20:27:00

Nice game, congrats!

You only get one shot to be famous by juaxix 2013-12-30T05:01:00

Interesting, but a bit confusing...

Darkest Friday by Cake&Code 2013-12-30T04:48:00

Sorry, but I didn't like it... It is a overused game, doesn't really relates to the theme, the font makes it hard to understand what is being asked, the words disapear too fast, and finally, I don't like this type of game... lol

But everyone else seem to be enjoying it, so I guess it is just me

Extreme Curling by Enneract 2013-12-18T13:09:00

Doesn't work on xperia play.

YOGO Cookie by Lacutis 2013-12-31T15:26:00

Very creative! lol

Death From Above by AlexFili 2014-01-04T16:03:00

Like everyone said, it is too easy, and I think it lacks some more mechanics...

Carry the one by goerp 2013-12-17T23:57:00

Good game.

Burning Fridges by foumart 2013-12-28T15:19:00

Very interesting, good job!

Choices by madameberry 2013-12-17T23:51:00

It's look like those japanese games. Good job.

Channel by BradleySmith 2013-12-31T16:42:00

Got past 1000, but my hands were hurting, so I stopped... lol

Poker Fight by SimianLogic 2013-12-31T02:21:00

Interesting game, but could use some polishing... For example, the player life points could be restored between fights, and there could be a better explanation about the mechanic... I almost died before I understood it.

Other than that seems like an interesting concept.

Rube by euske 2013-12-18T13:16:00

I liked the game, just needs to improve the art.

You Only Get One Gift (for christmas) by Bw2801 2013-12-18T16:40:00

This one was fun... lol

Spacedentist saves the day by StMatn 2013-12-17T23:53:00

Good. Educational.

Walkways of Mind by Pixelfan Games 2013-12-30T04:34:00

Like everyone said, very cool graphics and audio, but the game itself is pretty confusing...

0RBITALIS by AlanZucconi 2013-12-29T22:58:00

Very interesting and addictive!

Wrecked by Pomb 2013-12-17T23:50:00

Good job. Only the control is a pretty hard.

You only get one stone by Vladp995 2013-12-19T21:50:00

At first it doesn't seems that much fun, but it is addictive! lol

Well done!

Cat Gentlemans Play: Insult Spinner 10 Cents by RobotLovesKitty 2013-12-17T23:49:00

Original!

YOLO, Obviously by carlsommer 2013-12-19T12:17:00

Aleluia!
Good idea.. Or God idea lol

Starbeard: The Curse of the Space Whales by Those 30 Ninjas 2013-12-29T00:37:00

Nice take on the theme... the cursor could be centered, though: the harpoon aparently goes to the top-left corner of the cursor instead of the center

Airlock One by McFunkypants 2013-12-19T21:53:00

There's no condition to the end XD

The Turmeric Jam Jar's Only Game. by local minimum 2013-12-17T23:55:00

Soo crazy and scared! Good work.

Candy Runner by AtomicVikings 2013-12-17T23:58:00

Great art.

The Last Egg by fluffypillow 2014-01-03T04:00:00

I laughed at the boss fight... lol

Nice game!

The Voyage by hoqjed 2013-12-17T23:56:00

Star Trek! :D Good job.

Spell of Old by Tanser 2013-12-17T23:54:00

Great!!!

Where's my Present? by Zerkruemler 2013-12-29T05:52:00

Interesting, but you could clarify that when multiple traces are on the negation sign, neither trace is accepted on its own... I was under the impression that only their combination would be negated.

The ruling party by kristoffer zetterberg 2014-01-03T06:12:00

Not really a game, but I enjoyed reading it!

1Fuel by unitycoder_com 2013-12-26T21:08:00

This is fun! Nice!

SANITY by acehk 2013-12-26T21:35:00

What... how... where...??

Pick Up Sticks by Rikkter Games 2013-12-27T01:45:00

Torture-like game, but OK I guess...

Gravidude by gnerkus 2013-12-17T23:56:00

Nice take on the theme.

Sometimes the game goes to game over even though I have already chosen the direction and the character is already on the move... I think that it would be better to end the game only if the time finishes before you chose the direction (or by hitting a wall)

Protoport by Und[0]ne Devs 2013-12-31T15:41:00

Interesting mechanics, but waaay too hard... lol

Straight Ahead by Ipsio 2013-12-27T02:51:00

Very well done! Good job!

One Hour, One Shot, One Way Out? by Eskoala 2013-12-27T04:10:00

This was very interesting, but I agree that the commands could use some clarification...

Toy Soldiers by Bcadren 2013-12-27T07:29:00

Nice mechanics, but I couldn't finish the third stage.

To That Sect by gamesbyangelina 2013-12-17T23:57:00

very simple and creepy. Nice job.

Pixelfall by redhotvengeance 2013-12-27T16:32:00

It was OK, I guess... Very easy, you get bored too quickly.

S A T U by udinjelek 2013-12-27T16:44:00

Very well done, I liked it!

You Only Die Once by Arkrothe 2013-12-27T16:58:00

Interesting text-based game, but I think it could use some more variety... from what I saw, it has like 3 endings or so, and all of them very similar.

Golf Quest by rojo 2013-12-20T15:08:00

The same everyone is saying, I guess: different, but not really fun like it is.

Flickeroid by rorycooke 2013-12-27T17:06:00

It could be better if it were more challenging... As everyone said, you just keep shooting at the same spot and survive forever.

one.job:survive by joekinley 2013-12-31T16:49:00

Fun, but gets boring quickly...

The Last Cookie by kookoon 2014-01-03T06:29:00

Interesting and well polished, but in my opinion there isn't enough for a game, you should add more to the mechanics...

Good job nonetheless :)

One Shot Killa by lasagnegames 2013-12-31T16:32:00

Interesting and different, but too short...

You only get one bullet by isaacmarco 2013-12-31T20:59:00

Nice atmosphere, but the game just feels incomplete... The player can't be killed and I couldn't fire the shot (except for killing myself).

One Bullet Sniper by KeyMaster 2013-12-27T19:19:00

As everyone has said, it is a nice concept (although it is not really original). It could have more levels, as all of the four are really easy.

Unholy Dungeon by abeing 2013-12-27T20:37:00

Nice game, despite the flickering. I couldn't figure out what to do after I killed the box boss, though

Mama is Sick by JaymeeMak 2013-12-29T06:20:00

Very sad, really takes you away from reality... It is nice to have something different :)

Mead Greed by fleabit 2014-01-03T04:13:00

Interesting concept, very innovative, with some bugs... You could toss peasants below 0! lol

But it kind of gets repetitive and boring as it goes.

You Only Get One Castle by MaxiPaille 2013-12-27T23:29:00

Interesting mechanics, good job!

Yogo and the almighty mat thieves by kalth.streil 2014-01-04T03:25:00

Very well polished, despite a few bugs on the doors! I was hoping for a bonus stage with the witch, if I choose the "leave" instead of the cat, but it was a nice experience nonetheless!

28' q7204k by q7204k 2014-01-05T05:35:00

Very interesting, but as levels grow complicated it turns into a guessing game...
Definitely promising! Keep up the good work!

Say Cheese! by osozombie 2013-12-17T23:51:00

Good kids love this games.

City of Death by dznemotion 2013-12-17T20:18:00

Very good!

Drive Coin Crash 3D by rtypex 2013-12-18T13:36:00

Very hard to control and accelerate at the same time.
The music is very short.
When I lose the game and try restart, the game sound is crashed lol and the screen turned black. I played the Flash version.

Drive Coin Crash 3D by rtypex 2013-12-19T12:11:00

Tested the windows version.
The controls are better and is not catching.
Just need to fix the camera when standing near the wall appears the other side.

Only One Chance to Kill Souperman by zeal 2013-12-17T23:49:00

Poor Superman.

The Bombay Intervention by mize_VS_mildmojo 2014-01-04T21:33:00

Interesting, but in my opinion it lacks fun and continuity... After preventing a few events I had absolutelly no desire to continue playing.

Treasure Box Box by triplefox 2013-12-20T02:44:00

Interesting, but as the others have said, it is kind of boring as it is. If there were a gallery of user submitted levels to choose from (and to contribute to) it would be awesome.

This is not golf by bizn355 2014-01-06T15:57:00

It is still giving a 404 error.

You Only Get One Ball by DavidErosa 2013-12-28T15:37:00

Very fun, but also very frustrating! Those fucking spikes!

Arrow by TyrusPeace 2013-12-19T21:47:00

I can't defeat with the arrow lol.
Great polished work.

Sudoku:You Only Get One Answer by REIN1 2013-12-28T19:38:00

Like everyone said, an existing game without any strong connection with the theme and no modification... I did also beat it and nothing happened, just like chardish

One Wish by miwuc 2013-12-29T22:09:00

Interesting! But I expected all the characters to turn into wizzards until the end after I granted that wish, lol

PUSH by Patacorow 2013-12-29T22:35:00

Oh man, your game is nice! Very good job!

Sensory Deprivation by Finn Stokes 2013-12-28T19:47:00

That was very entertaining and innovative! It also fits the theme very well! Good job!

Mad One by Tex Killer 2013-12-18T01:23:00

Thanks, guys!

We are already planning to continue developing this in the future, don't worry!

Mad One by Tex Killer 2013-12-18T15:17:00

Thanks!

There are no more levels because we didn't have time to make any more during the Jam.

Mad One by Tex Killer 2013-12-24T15:39:00

Thanks for playing!

The idea is that no matter how hard he tries, he always end up alone... in fact, that is the goal to the player: leave only one alive.

Mad One by Tex Killer 2013-12-27T01:45:00

The site should be online now... try it!

Mad One by Tex Killer 2013-12-29T22:39:00

Yeah, we didn't spend much time on the level design, cause we had a lot to fix and make... We almost didn't have a second level! lol

Thanks for playing!

Mad One by Tex Killer 2014-01-01T07:06:00

Thank you for playing, psychonull!

We actually didn't get to test the Linux version, so your feedback is very important!

Mad One by Tex Killer 2015-10-17T02:42:00

So, recently I got working a little bit more on Mad One and got a version on the Google Play Store, including the third stage! :)

To those interested, you can get it for free at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peril.madone

LD30 — Connected Worlds

The Turtle Escape by Transmit 2014-09-06T04:31:00

What a cute little game! The gameplay is a little stiff, but I guess that was considered when designing the levels. Just kind of makes no sense that you go to the GHOST world when you DON'T die, but I guess that doesn't really matter. lol

By the way, I see that you tried to run my game last week, but couldn't. I've detected and fixed some memory errors, so you're welcome to come back and try again, if you like. :)

Space Rails by JonathanG 2014-09-05T18:36:00

This game is awesome! Very well done, congratulations!

Flower Power by Boberro 2014-09-06T04:43:00

Interesting concept. Is the gardener caring for the vegegation in the past and the soldier battling there in the future? So if you cut the plants in the past they never grow and the soldier can pass?
Just don't know why the enemy soldiers could walk through the plants and I couldn't. That isn't right.

By the way, I see that you tried to run my game last week, but couldn't. I've detected and fixed some memory error, so you're welcome to come back and try again, if you like. Thanks :)

Space Puncher by ShadowBrain 2014-09-06T03:37:00

The mechanics are strange, it felt like I was floating. Also, I didn't get the objective... was it to reach the blue orbs? By the way, didn't see any connection whatsoever with the theme.

That said, the visual style is nice, and I didn't get any aparent bug or crash. Keep it up.

Epic Galactic Conquest by madk 2014-09-06T04:07:00

Very impressive for just 5 hours of work! Never heard of this BlitzMax before.

By the way, I see that you tried to run my game last week, but couldn't. I've detected and fixed some memory errors that were being ignored on debugging, so you're welcome to try it again if you like! :)

Maximum Moxy by swinestudios 2014-09-01T04:25:00

Man, that stuff is addictive! lol

Great game!

Rage: Destroyer of worlds by SwiftIllusion 2014-09-01T04:50:00

They are so cute I felt bad for killing them. :(
Great design, congratulations!

By the way, when your life runs out you don't die. Instead, your life "orb" starts growing inverted. Mine got so big it covered the entire screen.

Void Space by HuvaaKoodia 2014-09-05T00:44:00

This is not really a game yet, but it looks promising! Keep it up!

Fear - Friendly Extraterrestrial Assembly Robot by Erkberg 2014-09-04T23:32:00

Very nice game, and a good interpretation of the theme! Congratulations!

Supernova by Robert 2014-09-03T03:39:00

Very nice, but gets boring quickly. There should be other objectives and gameplay possibilities for catching the players attention.

Flip Out! by DeltaF1 2014-09-06T03:57:00

Vert insteresting interpretation of the theme! Didn't come to any bugs, but the second level can be beat with only 1 jump, if you jump at the right time. lol
Wish there were more levels, but those that are there are enough to see the game's potential. Good job!

By the way, I see that you tried to run my game last week and it didn't work for you. I've detected and fixed some memory errors that were being ignored when debugging, so you're welcome to try running it again. Thanks!

GRAVCOMM by doomista 2014-09-01T08:33:00

Interesting. Couldn't finish it because my mousewheel is broken, but it is fun.

The Never Ending Cycle by AlucardX60 2014-09-01T09:04:00

Seems to have a lot of content. I've never used RPG Maker nor did I play Dark Souls, so I wouldn't be able to say how much of this is custom and how much is from RPG Maker.

Shiba 2 world escape by mysterycjgamer 2014-09-04T22:05:00

Very nice game! There are not that many point-and-click games on Ludum Dare.

Incursion by AccountNo17 2014-09-04T22:10:00

My mouse wheel isn't working, so I could only use the default weapon.

Also, the game sometime freezes and when it resumes it seems some time has passed and I already got hit some times. Might be Firefox's fault, but not sure.

Anyway, very weak connection with the theme and no inovation.

Corrected Words by swistakm 2014-09-02T05:21:00

Interesting idea, but couldn't read fast enough to detect the errors before they were out of reach. Also got bored after a few words and just waited until the end without jumping. The "coins" aren't that much of a reward, if you ask me.

Node 54 by silentlamb 2014-09-02T02:45:00

Funny game, and the artwork is good. Congratulations!

Frogging - XNA by gladers 2014-09-06T04:19:00

Nice interpretation of the theme, and it is impressive that everything work! That said, the gameplay is a little stiff, specially on the "PACMAN" level. Don't know if that was intentional, but it didn't feel natural.

By the way, I see that you tried running my game last week, but it crashed. I've detected and fixed some memory errors, so you're welcome to come back and try it again! Thanks :)

The Spectacular Adventures of Billy by InquisitiveGeek 2014-09-02T05:35:00

Great humor, if nothing else! lol

By the way, it worked (even with vibration) with my PS3 controller (through MotionInJoy)

Fairy Bash by trekapp 2014-09-05T00:39:00

What a funny game! lol
The music is awesome!

But if your apple gets to the ground, you're screwed. If you hit the apple, you are the one going up. If you leave the screen it is game over. That doesn't seem right.

Jingle Orbs by ChristmasBunny 2014-09-02T19:05:00

Couldn't run it. Crashed every time. Tried to use the compatibility options, but still didn't work.

Earth <-> Krethys by BethhhB 2014-09-03T05:40:00

Nice game, but VERY frustrating. The control is too hard, my hand started hurting on the second level. The character should move faster and more freely and the transition between the two worlds should be made easier.

Parallel Guy by CrazyDog 2014-09-02T19:15:00

Interesting gameplay, but only 2 levels? At least when I beat the second level I go back to the main menu.

Super Mailer by moi93101 2014-09-03T02:10:00

As already said by others, great graphics and nice sound, poor gameplay. I played for a while and there was no "letter delivery".

Galaxy Train by biscuitWizard 2014-09-03T03:09:00

Very well done with a lot of content... But I also think the control of the train is too hard. At least if we could see where the train "boosters" are it would be better, we would know where the force is being applied. Also, all the train parts should be able to collect passengers, not only the first.

Shifted by Scipio Xaos 2014-09-01T01:24:00

Nice little game. As already said, you should put some sound on it, and improve the gameplay, but congratulations on completing it in time!

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-08-27T00:03:00

Sorry guys, it seems some of the compiler optimizations were making the game crash some times. I've recompiled the game without optimizations and it seems to work alright now. Could you guys try again?

Thank you very much!

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-01T01:30:00

Update: found some memory errors that were being ignored when I debuged the game. Should work well now, even on Linux via Wine.

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-01T04:56:00

DaGamesta, the level is limited. Once you pass 20 gates the level ends.

Dietrich Epp, Yeah, I was trying to fix them the best I could, but at least they only kill you when you are really hit by them. If I develop a "post-compo" version I might fine tune the detection more.

Thank you all for playing!

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-01T05:01:00

DaGamesta, to answer your questions about the engine, yes, the game is made on our own engine with our own graphics. About the theme, once you clear the first "dream" you should see that the blades come back with you to the "real world". Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to create the second dream, although the artwork is halfway done and the concept is already sort of finished. Thank you for playing!

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-01T07:46:00

SwiftIllusion, thank you for playing! Nice tips, if I make a post-compo version I'll be sure to implement them.

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-01T18:05:00

Crefossus, thank you for playing! I don't know why sometimes it spawns to a black screen, do you know how to reproduce that?

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-02T02:06:00

Ramiel, did you finish the first dream? You can see one of the blades on the real world after you wake up. There was supposed to be a final level on the real world at the end of the game, but we didn't have nearly enough time. Thank you for playing!

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-02T05:56:00

Thank you for playing, Victory Garden! When you died you were sent back to the first room. After you passed 20 rooms you would have cleared the first dream.

About the collisions, I couldn't get it any better on the time I had. Maybe if I do a "post-compo" version I'll improve it.

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-02T17:49:00

kibertoad, thank you for playing! Didn't think 20 rooms was too much, but thank you for the tip! By the way, did you notice that there was one blade on the real world after you woke up?

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-03T06:32:00

Thank you for playing, hbocao!

The collision detection for the axes are really not very good, but it was the best I could do before the time was over.

We had also planned a second dream, and the artwork was halfway done, but there was no time left to program it.

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-04T17:32:00

Thank you guys for playing!

silentlamb, we are aware of this error, but don't yet know what is triggering it. Do you know how to reproduce it?

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-06T07:02:00

Thank you, kirbytails7! This is the third time we tried using it, the previous two didn't end up playable.

Morpheus by Tex Killer 2014-09-07T03:12:00

Thank you very much, DeltaF1! The collision detection with the axes is really not very good, even if it wasn't 2.5D... I just didn't have enough time to program it better. Maybe if we develop a post-compo version I will make the collision detection better.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Temple Shifters by sftrabbit 2016-04-23T03:27:00

Very nice puzzles!

As the others have said, the first levels are more though out, so the end was pretty abrupt, but it was still very entertaining. You might want to put some visual indication in the game that the 'R' key resets the level, as people might not read the description here before playing.

Cat-amorphasis by UltraRat 2016-05-09T22:53:00

That is funny... lol

The "solution" to the first level is not like the image shows it, though. Plus, that was the hardest level, so it should have been the last one, as others have commented. Congratulations on finishing it!

By the way, thanks for trying to rate my entry, and I'm sorry that it crashed for you. I'm still trying to figure out why that happens on some computers and not on others, but thanks for the feedback anyway! :)

The Ooze by Danman9914 2016-05-09T19:24:00

This game is amazing! I can't believe it was done by a single person in 48 hours! Congratulations!

The only comment I have is that I don't get if there are differences in behaviour between different enemy types. All of them seem to behave the same. That is not necessarily a problem, though! Great puzzles, very well done!

The Incredible Vending Machine by Alphish 2016-05-09T04:58:00

Nice game!

It took me a VERY LONG time, but I finally managed to understand the machine state lights. :P
I didn't have the patience to collect all words after that. Interesting concept, though! You might want to make some milestones to keep the player motivated, and maybe hint at the word(s) the player should seek next.

By the way, thanks for rating my entry. :)
I've done some small gameplay changes to try and improve the platforming and make it more playable. You can try it again if you want to. Thank you very much anyways!

Space Catacombs by The Walking Kiwi 2016-05-09T19:44:00

Congratulations on finishing the game! :)
It does look like a finished product, but I have some suggestions:
1) It is fine to have momentum on the movement (having the ship slowly stopping after the player releases the key), but momentum on the angle is just strange. It is very hard to get to the angle I want because I have to time the release of the turning key and consider the angular momentum.
2) More than once I've unconsciously "interpreted" the ship backwards, as if the back were the front. That might just be me, though.

Thanks for rating my game! I've found and fixed some bugs that might've lead to crashes before, so you can try it again if you want to! Regardless, thank you for the feedback, and good luck with the game! :)

Defective Wiring by TheMonsterFromTheDeep 2016-05-09T23:55:00

Unfortunately, I could not run it. I got this exception: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: defectivewiring/Entry : Unsupported major.minor version 52.0".

Trionic by djfariel 2016-05-09T22:43:00

Very solid entry! I would never guess this game was made in only 72 hours. Looks and plays very professional.

It took me some time to get used to the transformations and to explore the game, but I guess I just suck. I've found 3 arrows to open doors, but I could never return from them without dying. All of my comments on small things from the game seem to already be on the list of fixes, so I'll just omit them. Congratulations for the very high quality entry!

By the way, I'm sorry that my entry crashed for you. I am yet trying to figure out why that happened, but thank you for the feedback! :)

Shifting Temple by Tex Killer 2016-04-20T05:10:00

Thank you very much for the feedback!
We are aware of some places where the player could get stuck, and we're trying to do something about it. :)

Shifting Temple by Tex Killer 2016-04-23T03:55:00

It is on purpose, but not the goal of the player :P
Did you guys finish it? What about the treasure, did you get it?

Anyway, thank you very much for the feedback!

Shifting Temple by Tex Killer 2016-04-29T02:25:00

I'm having trouble reproducing the crashes, as I also use Windows 10 but it never crashes here, so I'll try to find out what is going on. Thank you all very much for the feedback!

Shifting Temple by Tex Killer 2016-05-04T20:09:00

Thank you very much for the feedback, Alphish!

Do you know how to reproduce the issues you had with the R key?

About the platforming, the jump had to be that big so the player could get over the obstacles, but ideally it wouldn't be that big...
About the control, I made it so you have total control of the character on the ground, but just a little control on air. I might change that if it is hurting the gameplay, but I made no obstacle that would require a lot of air control. At last, the wrong sided jumps are a problem I couldn't yet fix, but I'll keep on trying.

Thank you again!

Shifting Temple by Tex Killer 2016-05-09T18:57:00

Thank you very much, Alphish!

The changes we've made were only some minor bugfixes and gameplay adjustments. As we understood the rules, those can be done after the deadline, as long as the game itself isn't changed. You couldn't even notice what was changed, so I believe there is no problem.

About the jumps, it seems the character "bounces off" of walls and objects when it jumps too close to them. We've tried fixing that, but couldn't. Now, however, with the air controls stronger, it is at least possible to "bounce off" of a button and still end up landing on it if you control the character mid-air.

Pick One by Hankenstien 2016-04-23T04:05:00

Nice concept, but as the others have said, it needs a little bit more polishing. I got stuck on walls when flying. Plus, on the transformation's screen 3 and 4 are switched.

It would be interesting to play more levels, though. Congratulations! :)

Infinite Trip by Steven Pinto 2016-04-23T02:54:00

Nice controls and spot on the theme and humor, but unfortunately I suck at these kind of games... lol

Why not use radial images for the smoke particles? Should look a lot more like smoke that way, unless it was a design decision.

Anyway, if you're interested, I've managed to patch up the places where the player could get stuck on my game. Regardless, thank you very much for the feedback! :)

Blobidy Blob by alsantour 2016-05-10T00:11:00

This was interesting! That soft body blob was interesting to look at. :P

The game feels like a sandbox, it lacks some goals, which is understandable since you had limited time. It is an interesting sandbox, though! haha

The Shamankeeper by Mystical 2016-05-09T23:05:00

Seems intriguing, but unfortunately I think only the very beginning of the game got done in time. Let us know if you continue the development. :)

Sea Monster by SeaMonsterGD 2016-04-23T03:52:00

Very nice! It would be nice if the game would warn the player when the max level would be reached, I was a little bit confused when I couldn't collect the green things anymore on the first form. Plus, it would be nice to have some ingame direction as to where are the temples and how many there are.

Anyway, I had fun, thanks and congratulations! :)

LD38 — A Small World

Alysson by Jod 2017-05-20T17:50:49Z

Very nice! This is the second game I see made on Ren'Py this time.

I found it odd that there is a Save screen, but no Load screen.

As for the game, good storytelling, and it is interesting that no matter what the stalker does or how perfect and undetected his stalking is, the problem is still there and you have to face it.

Good job! :)

A Smaller World by Frederika 2017-05-04T20:17:01Z

It is interesting to see a game made in RenPy here. Nice work!

Did I mess up somehow or is there only one choice with 3 options, none of them making any difference in the game apart from the very next phrase?

Protolife by icxon 2017-05-05T02:25:21Z

Wow, this game is just amazing!

At first, I played through the levels and it felt like a good and exciting tower defense/strategy game. Then, once I came back here to rate it, I saw the image with all the different structures and noticed I had only used Antibodies I through the entire game! So back I went to try out all the other different structures, and it was very fun again. At last, when I though I found everything out, I gave my rating and started reading the comments. Only THEN I was made aware of the "Game of Life" thing with the amino acids! And back to the game for some more fun. So far, this has been the most enjoyable game I've found here. You are all very much congratulated on it!

I think it would be better if you guys just used 3 different keys for placing the different kinds of things instead of switching between them with the TAB key, though.

By the way, thank you very much for the feedback on Little Scout, @icxon! If you have the free time and disposition for it, could you please tell me what you did to fall through the walls? I could only fall through the ground by growing inside small passages. In any case, thank you very much, and great job on this! :)

Planet CLTV-8 by graebor 2017-05-19T02:59:56Z

Nice concept for a game mechanic! :)

You said there is no goal, but I kind of made it a personal goal to eliminate every wasteland. I ended up failing, with a couple wastelends still there and no space left to convert them. It was fun!

By the way, why haven't you rated or given feedback to any other game? Are you guys recovered from your sickness?

Walkabout by Galan 2017-05-04T01:56:59Z

It was interesting in the sense that you're immersed into the story, but it could use some polish.

Walking in steps like that is kind of annoying, it would be best if you could just keep the Up arrow key pressed to move forward.

As others have said, the "choices" don't seem to make any difference other than some dialog changes.

Objects are "loaded" one "turn" before they come into the foreground, but they are already visible, so they just pop into existance and stay still at the background while other things move until you take the next step. I think you did that to avoid hanging on loading of objects, but maybe they should appear invisible and only become visible when they start moving.

Those things aside, good job on the night/day cicle and congratulations for participating! :)

World Tours by Mathiouza 2017-05-16T04:12:55Z

Cute game! The "MS Paint-styled" graphics are fun, too bad it ended so soon. :)

I liked the collision with the ground, it seems to follow the visuals well.

If you made this alone in 16 hours, you could have put it in the Compo. If you plan on coming to the Jam again in the future, you can take a little more time to insert more content into the game!

Good job, and thank you for rating my Little Scout! :D

Neuroso by gamechoy 2017-05-04T21:27:30Z

I'm using Windows 7 x64, and all I get when I run the game is a window with a black screen and the music playing in the background. I've tried pressing buttons and nothing changed. I've also tried compatibility mode and nothing.

Neuroso by gamechoy 2017-05-05T01:05:36Z

@gamechoy, yes, it was the brightness. Damn, your game is waaay too dark! You must be going blind if your brightness is always that high up. :P

That aside, your game is impressive! It has an immense ammount of content for a 72h jam.

There is a small bug on the dark transparent image mask for the first level: some offset at the beginning of the level is not covered by it, so it starts off already clear.

You guys did very good work with this! Thumbs up!

Sunny World by Jungle 2017-05-04T02:16:48Z

Very well polished and interesting concept!

I don't know if it was intentional, but if I keep the montains sunny, the resources won't go down. You can keep it like that forever, as long as no meteor comes. Also, it would be good to tell the player the population would go up when the food is maxed out - I didn't know that at first, so I was just managing the planet, trying to keep everything stable.

PS: BR aqui! HUE

Merhygen by rokasv 2017-05-04T01:36:56Z

Interesting idea! You say the game lacks polish, but in my opinion it is very polished! What was lacking a bit was content, but I understand we can't always do all we want in the time we have. :P

Do you have an idea on how you would continue the game after the wings section?

By the way, it seems to me you use your own custom engine, just like me. Thumbs up for that, I know it is a struggle to keep everything working!

And thank you very much for the feedback you left on my game! Unfortunately, I can't seem to reproduce most of the issues. If you have the time and disposition, can you tell me what OS you used? And if you fell through the ground anywhere that wasn't a small passage (I didn't have time to program the restrictions on growing, so growing inside small passages is bound to go bad). In any case, thank you and good luck on your game and your engine! :)

War in the Sky by ZYXer 2017-05-18T19:15:31Z

This game's technical quality is among the top of all the games I rated here! You're very much congratulated on it!

The only minor problems I had with the game were the same as the others said: no audio and lack of automated resource crafting.

This is seriously very close to release quality. All it lacks to be a full fledged game is content and some play-testing, really.

Good job, and thank you for rating my Little Scout! By the way, if you have the time and disposition, could you answer my question regarding the glitchy lines at Little Scout's page? Thank you very much either way! :)

Tower up by bog13 2017-05-16T22:58:03Z

I know difficulty isn't necessarily a bad thing, but this game is still too unforgiving.

I mean, after I figured out how to get through each obstacle, the subsequent runs got easier, but any mistake and you're back at the beginning, or you're stuck with no way forward.

Maybe you could make the destructible platforms "grow back" after some time, so the player won't be forced to suicide? Also, the fallen blocks are falling to the ground floor and stopping, and they stop interacting with the player. I don't know if that was intentional.

Checkpoints would also have been a nice solution.

After some effort I was able to get to the spikes, but I died shortly afterwards, and I'm not motivated enough to go through all that again to see what comes next. Sorry.

Anyway, congratulations for the game! And thank you for rating my Little Scout! :)

Re:post by Terrabalt 2017-05-04T19:34:52Z

It took me a while to understand what was going on... I think the concept is new and it could be interesting, but at the moment it lacks motivation (the game seems to be nothing but busywork).

It would be nice if we could correct the selected blog posts, since sometimes we can missclick and use the wrong news. It would be also nice if we could "delete" news, as managing the bad news so that the TV is clean and good ones could appear is tedious and frustrating.

Anyway, good work! :)

A Mind Is A Small Place by Juju Adams 2017-05-19T23:29:37Z

Wow, this game is very creepy! I got seriously nauseated from playing this, my stomach is all scrumbled up and I feel really bad. I guess that means maximum points in mood, right..? haha

At first I got the "good" ending. Then I played again and got the "bad" ending, but both endings were so similar I though I had failed both times, just in different ways. So I tried again a bunch more times beginning to end, finishing the puzzles differently each time, but no matter what I did, I only got what I though were two variations of the same "bad ending".

It took me a long time to understand what the skeleton was representing and to understand the meaning of the chess game, and now it does make sense, although you saying "little choices do add up" in the description has probably fooled me into overthinking the win condition and the "good ending". Having all those meaningless variations in the puzzles certainly didn't help, since the flowers are all that matters (I think).

Ok, so now I'm gonna go get some fresh air to see if I feel better. Oh, and thank you @juju-adams for rating my Little Scout. :)

There shall be light by FuriousWitch 2017-05-19T03:36:28Z

Congratulations on making your first Ludum Dare game!

Too bad you didn't get to put the win/lose conditions in, but it already works reasonably well.

The torches are a little weird. If I try to pick up a torch and I change my direction fast enough, I'm able to carry the torch on my side or on my back. And if I try to drop the torch close to other torches, the character plays the "dropping" animation, but doesn't drop the torch.

The enemy's movements are hilarious! :D

I could "push" them out of the walls, though. I don't think that was intended.

It was rare, but I was able to "kill" some of the enemies. At least that is what I think happened when they "unfolded and vanished". Most of the enemies squeezed out of the walls before I could kill them, tough.

You said you were making an improved version, right? Consider putting some animation for the enemies spawning, instead of just "poping" them into existance. Maybe make them falling with parachutes or something?

Anyway, good job, and keep at it! :)

There shall be light by FuriousWitch 2017-05-19T04:36:20Z

@furiouswitch, thank you very much for rating me back! :)

If you have the time and disposition for it, can you please tell me what is the model of the graphics card you were using when you played Little Scout?

There shall be light by FuriousWitch 2017-05-19T05:19:37Z

@furiouswitch, those are some highly valuable feedbacks. Thank you very much, and good luck with your games and your blog! :)

There shall be light by FuriousWitch 2017-05-19T06:21:50Z

@furiouswitch, I have no idea who that is. I do have a Twitter account I created recently, but I don't really use Twitter. I created the Twitter account I'm talking about just to send one tweet, and then never went there again. I've used your blog's contact form to send you my contact information, though.

Your user page here has your Twitter, and your Twitter had a link to your blog. That is how I knew about it. :) Maybe you should put a link to your blog on your user page here, and I recommend you link to your Twitter URL directly instead of using the @ notation, as that conflicts with the LD user notation.

Winter by cdrch 2017-05-04T22:51:30Z

The game is very immersive and the connection to the theme seems solid. :)

I could not, however, find the log and the second wire, thus not completing the second craft. Are they in the game?

I did, however, find three bugs. The first one is where the first wire is: if you walk there, the camera changes to some crazy angle and I can't see anything. The second is when you walk close to the houses: the shadow appears on the roof. At last, the third one is that you can walk up any wall up to 90 degrees: you can go up the montains and even the glass surrounding the globe.

I should mention the same others have already mentioned: the controls are quite a pain, and the character moves very slowly. Maybe you could try improving those aspects next time. :D

Good job!

Bug Attack! by Gurbx 2017-05-15T21:22:03Z

This one is promising! :)

The controls work reasonably fine, but it took me some time to get used to the right mouse button doing both the troops movement and entering the buildings menu. Maybe you should just display the buildings menu whenever no Barrack was selected?

By the way, what is the point of selecting buildings besides the Barracks? As far as I understood, selecting them is completely pointless, and may prevent you from selecting a Barrack close to them.

Other people have already said this, but letting the player build buildings on top of other buildings is highly exploitable. Look at my screenshot: my base is reasonably small, but there are thousands of buildings there.

It is also weird that the characters can occupy the same space. I know it is hard to avoid that, and I think you made the movement into a random square for that reason, but maybe there should be some physics calculations on movement. You would also have to implement some path-finding algorithm if you were to do that. But you are right doing it like this for the LD, you only had 48 hours after all. :P

One small bug I found is that each Barrack can't go over the population limit, but multiple Barracks can (by stacking units simultaneously). Look at my screenshot: I've made 31 Warlocks more than the limit of the houses with 4 Barracks.

Speaking of Warlocks, they are so overpowered that there is no point building any of the other units. In fact, it is harmful for you long term, since they take up population spaces. Maybe you could make each unit type strong against some enemies and weak against others. That way I would have to create other types of units, and there would be more strategy involved, instead of a simple race to build Warlocks. :P

The sound effects were fine at first, but once the Warlock number started getting high, I had to mute the game, since the shots were making a very big noise. You should probably do something to control the sound volume of many simultaneous shots.

By the way, I've kept the game running in the background for hours, and I don't think the bugs have any chance to get even near my 600 Warlocks in the foreseable future. That is why some people said it was easy: you just have to create enough Warlocks and you're invincible.

Bottomline: Very good job, especially since it was made for the compo! And thank you for rating my Little Scout. :)

Cat's adventures game by MrSmith33 2017-05-20T18:02:05Z

Nice walk mechanic!

However, I think you should improve the destination detection when the player clicks on "non ground". If you plan on keeping this 2.5D point of view, you should probably select the ground point to the bottom of the cursor as the destination when the player clicks on the wall, instead of chosing the one do the right (this is what happens now, at least when there is a point to the right).

It is a minor improvement, but it will prevent problems when you make more complex scenes in the future. :)

Good job, and good luck next time!

Mind The Gap (First Ludum Dare) by Izunah 2017-05-05T18:45:37Z

First off, congratulations for completing your first LD entry! :)

As @gamepopper has said, the aim is weird because you seem to be using the mouse pointer coordinates on the screen to calculate the angle of the character in the game world.

I don't know if you already did this on your patch, but you should get the game world position that corresponds to where the pointer is pointing, then calculate the angle from the character to that point and set the character's rotation to that angle. That way, the character will always be pointing to where the mouse is pointing, and you can even "fire the grapple along the forward axis" with no problems.

Keep up the good work, and good luck with your dream!

Asteroid Hopper by yyam 2017-05-04T18:21:11Z

Nice little puzzle! The levels were all pretty easy, but I know it's hard to focus a lot of time on level design with such a tight schedule... :P

Maybe the "one way portal" at the last level should've had an image to indicate where it leads, even if it were a different image. The way it is right now the player can't plan ahead, since they won't know where the portal leads.

By the way, thanks for the feedback on Little Scout and kudos for using SFML too! :)

Libre by DiegoCTorguet 2017-05-16T21:11:34Z

Well, I did play the game with the full intent of giving useful feedback here, but I think everything I wanted to say has been said already.

What is the "candy plastic unwrapping" sound at the end supposed to mean? Did the "creature" escape while you were trying to free the scientists, or was all that supposed to be pre-recorded footage from the past of the ship? (I guess not, since the scientists seem to acnowledge your actions)

Nice work, and thank you for rating my Little Scout! :)

SmlWhrld - A Puzzle by OldeTobeh 2017-05-20T16:32:19Z

Nice mechanic, similar to the one in my game. :P

I don't know what happened, but on the last level I couldn't pick up the cube at first on the WebGL version. I walked a bit and then it worked, but I don't know how or why. Apart from that, I had no problems.

You said you would opt out of Graphics, but it is still there for us to vote on.

Anyway, good work, and welcome to LD! :)

The Deific's Guide to Creating, Exploiting, and Destroying Pocket Worlds by Smiling Cat Entertainment 2017-05-06T18:53:11Z

Ok, this one took a long time to properly go through.

First off, it is a nice concept, and well executed to a point. There are, however, very serious problems you need to address if you plan on turning this into a full game.

- First and most important: It is nearly impossible to find out what the formulas are just by playing. You MUST help the player with that in some way. For now, I strongly suggest you link this image I made into the description, so people can use it: http://i64.tinypic.com/2011ts.png (I had to look at the code to make this, it was very tedious and time consuming) But for the final game, one possible way to address this would be to have something like a "journal" of formulas, that lists all the formulas the player has already discovered. That way you won't spoil the fun of finding the unknown elements, but the game can be less "random smashing of whatever elements you find" and more "let me make a world for this specific goal".

- The second thing I believe should be addressed in order to make this into a full game would be the motivation. Just discovering elements is fine, but maybe you could make more goals, like custom pocket world tournaments (even if without multiplayer, as some sort of campaign the player has to complete), or maybe make up some kind of story that you can progress through by creating specific worlds or having specific elements, etc. Achievements are also a possibility.

- After a long time the game world gets quite crowded. I did notice that the same element merges with another when they touch, but the world still gets very crowded later on, and it gets very hard to spot specific elements, specially if said elements are rare. Maybe there could be another way to spot elements from afar, or some sort of element search or map. You could also try to create some upper limit on the quantities of each element, to aleviate the crowding issue.

- Don't make Esc openning the menu and then that same Esc closing the game! Just don't. My first playthrough was unintentionaly closed because I tried to close the menu with Esc and ended up killing the game.

Now, onto the bugs.

- The "world naming" box itself is very buggy. It sometimes opens itself for editing spontaneously, without the "3" key ever being pressed. As a consequence to that, since I walk around using WASD, it is very common to look at the name box and see it full of random walking letters. That means "world names" are completely broken and unusable. After fixing that, you may want to lock the player's actions while the box is being edited: it is weird to unintentionaly walk and do random things while typing names, and writing 1 into the name may create another world by accident.

- After some time, there were some elements I could not collect. I think they were too high up for me to reach. I don't know how to reproduce that, but it was happening.

- I think this may have been intentional, but destroying worlds breaks their materials into many parts. I think it would be nice if a broken world returned elements already grouped in big balls, without breaking them (you can even still reduce the amount of returned elements the way it is, but leave them grouped). It would make the task of scavanging for a specific element much easier, since you would be able to make a world, destroy it and most of the elements you had scavanged would be all in one place for you to get them and continue scavanging.

I think that is about all I have to say. By the way, it took me 2 hours of gameplay time to collect every element, and I did that using the image I made since the beginning of the playthrough! I can only imagine how hard and slow it would be to do the same without it.

Those problems aside, I did like the concept, and it is kind of impressive that you made this for the Compo. Good luck developing it if you do continue, and thanks for rating my Little Scout! :)

The Deific's Guide to Creating, Exploiting, and Destroying Pocket Worlds by Smiling Cat Entertainment 2017-05-06T18:56:52Z

Oh, damn, you already made the image... xD

Too bad I didn't come here after you made the image, it would have saved me some hours creating my hacked together version.

Tiny Venture by faemir 2017-05-03T21:47:57Z

The controls are a bit weird. I think you smoothed the mouse movements somehow but that made it harder and more frustrating to control the camera. A "mouse sensitivity" option would have helped, but I think you shouldn't do the "smoothing". Also, the game was already playing while I was at the help screen, so I had to read it all and reload the game so I wouldn't die reading the controls. :P

For some reason, some of the trees I collect can't be planted. I have no idea why. Also, some of the trees have no fruid at all. I don't know if that was intentional. The control screen let me believe I should harvest the plants and then eat them, but I shouldn't harvest the plant to eat it: I just stand in front of the plant and press the button to eat it. At last, the mouse isn't being released at the "game over" screen, so I had to Alt+Tab to release the mouse and close the game.

Anyway, interesting concept! I think it lacks a little motivation to keep the player going, but with some goals or milestones it could be fun. Good luck with it! :)

CORO by sunnray 2017-05-20T18:38:44Z

You say we should "collect food from their dead lifeless bodies", but there is no such thing in game. I think you called the "kill count" a "food count", but it is still a "kill count", as it goes up when you kill something and there is no "collecting" of anything involved. :)

It took me some time to get used to the right mouse button control of the movement, but after I got it, the game got easy. Too bad there wasn't more content.

Overall, good job! :)

Incidental Dimension by wildmusketeer 2017-05-16T22:28:35Z

This was nice!

The only puzzle that was a little hard to clear was the "walk with the fire" one, although I had to reset the game on the fifth closed door (the one where you should clear the path so the fire reaches the magnet), because I put the box over the magnet on my first playthrough. Also, one 2D box turned into two 3D boxes when I did that. By the way, bellow the button for that same door it is possible to slip into the ocean. I did find the "debug" path at the beginning, so I think this other exit was not intentional. :P

On the WebGL version, the game crashed when I was about to get to the ending. I could get out through the button I mentioned before and follow the path outside until I've reached the ending, but I didn't find a way to get inside again. The Windows version didn't crash, though, and I was able to see the ending on it.

Well done, especially for the Combo! And thank you for rating my Little Scout! :)

Daily Routine: the smallest worlds are the ones we get stuck in by Samurai Spark 2017-05-16T20:15:52Z

It took me a while, but I finally became an Ice Hokey player! :D

At first I was just doing everything the game told me to do, and as people were talking about an "ending" I didn't quit. Eventually there was an arrow pointing at the book, then I realised what was happening and finished the game quickly afterwards.

I don't know if that was intentional, but the cereals can be cleared on the first day, the job only on the second (as far as I could see), and the TV only on the third. If I didn't miss any hints, maybe you should have allowed the player to complete everything Day 1 (without devining the keys and passwords out of thin air, that is).

By the way, the CPS metric shows the player's highest CPS score of all days, but it doesn't say that. It gives the impression that it is the current day's CPS. Not that it matters much, though, because of the goal of the game being something else.

Overall, good and creative job! And thank you, @samurai-spark, for rating my Little Scout! :)

Arry World by willowblade 2017-05-16T01:10:16Z

It has a very interesting concept, and it fits the theme very well. The graphics and audio were also excelent. Congratulations on making the game!

The text scrolling thing you guys used is not very good, though. It was hard to keep up with the text, and it broke words in half sometimes. The text was also missing some punctuation characteres, and the amount of text showed at once was too small. Those were the main problems I had with the game.

The humor was spot on, especially the talking chicken. :D

I don't think the "ending" was a good call, though (if it was intended). There were still some characters and items around, and there was no indication that the game would end, so it kind of forces us to try every item with every character before coming here and seeing your comment.

Speaking of the items, why are there some items that are never used? Was it to "mask" the good items among them, or maybe you didn't have time to complete your original concept?

And what is the deal with the "eclipses"? When they happen, the text boxes are covered in shadow, and if you're in the middle of a dialog you risk missing a part of it.

Overall it was a funny experience! Good job, and thank you @willowblade for rating my Little Scout! :)

From Zer0 to Hero by carlosvVk 2017-05-03T21:19:17Z

I think the collision detection was a little off at the beginning, but I might be mistaken. Good sense of humor! By the way, do you have any idea what that thing was and why God wanted it dead? :P

Lymphocyte Counterattack by DropsOnly 2017-05-20T18:18:21Z

The endboss was too easy. Pretty much everything that came before was harder than the final boss.

By the way, this may be your first time in Ludum Dare, but you are expected to rate more than one game. Like, 20 times more. :) Think of all those people from the community rating your game, and getting only 1 rating in return... that is not fair.

But it is alright, next time try to rate more! Good job!

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-04T21:31:47Z

Thank you all for playing! :D

@rokasv @unit684 I didn't have time to program restrictions on growing, so if you grow big while you're in a small passage bad things will happen. :P

If I develop a post-jam version I'll make sure to prevent the player from turning big where that shouldn't be possible.

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-04T22:41:53Z

Thank you for playing and for the feedback, @icxon !

For the physics simulation I use the Bullet Physics Library, as the icon at the ending screen suggests.

Can you tell me how to reproduce the "falling through walls" bug? Thank you very much!

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-06T02:14:22Z

Thank you all very much for playing and for the feedback! :D

@porcus-pie, could you tell me what OS are you on?

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-06T06:16:50Z

@porcus-pie Thank you very much! I'll do some testing on Windows 10 to try and identify the problem and possible solutions. I'm on Windows 7 right now. :)

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-06T15:53:25Z

Thanks @icxon, but I was already aware of this (falling through the floor). As I said before, I didn't have enough time to restrict the places where the player can grow (that should be enough to prevent this bug). I thought you had found a way to go through walls, not the floor. :P

Thank you very much anyway! :)

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-09T12:57:57Z

Thank you all very much for playing and for the feedback! :)

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-16T20:45:08Z

Thank you all for playing and for the feedback! :)

@wildmusketeer, I had already found that bug out, and I'll see if I can solve it. It appears to only happen when you start to jump but grow/shrink before the character leaves the ground from the jump.

@zyxer, do the lines appear while you're changing or are they always there? Do they appear on both sizes? Thank you very much for the feedback!

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-18T19:49:02Z

@zyxer, I think everyone found that last bug... hahaha

I believe the "stuck in jump" bug is the same as the one @wildmusketeer reported, and can be reproduced by jumping and growing/shrinking before the character leaves the ground from the jump. I'll fix it when I have some time. :)

I messed with the window resolution a lot here (including maximizing the window), but I could not reproduce the "line bug". I guess it is tied to both the window resolution and the hardware/drivers somehow, because my screen's resolution is the same as yours, and I could not make it happen here.

Again, thank you very much for playing and for the valuable feedback! :)

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-19T04:29:42Z

Thank you very much for playing and for your feedback, @furiouswitch ! :D

Can you tell me what is the model of the graphics card you are using? I'm pretty sure the white box character happened because of the graphics card's limitations, since the character sprite sheet is the biggest image in the game (6696x387), although I really haven't seen that happen yet.

**Edit:** I talked to @furiouswitch at her game's page, and it seems to be an integrated graphics card. Using another graphics card she was able to see the character, and she also said the sound had improved, so I might do some testing with low-end graphics cards in the future to avoid these issues.

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-21T03:43:30Z

Last but not least, thank you too, @juju-adams, for playing and for leaving feedback! :)

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

SCRAMBLED by aurel 2017-12-28T16:46:54Z

Amazing amount of content, as the others have said! Congratulations!

Just like @furiouswitch, I felt bad for stealing the bird's eggs. :(

Playing as Lorelle it was very easy to kill them, and I felt like an asshole.

The knights are very hard to beat, and my last playthrough ended with one getting to me coming out of the cliff's walls. I did manage to kill two of them as Lorelle though, by jumping around them like crazy slicing at them.

Can't wait for the Post Jam version! Keep up the great work! :D

ARCADE OVERFLOW by Remco 2017-12-28T16:57:41Z

Hey, @remco!

Very nice of you to give up ratings for the needed, kudos for that!

I'll do what you ask, and after the rating period is over I shall come and play your game, and hopefully leave some useful feedback for you! :)

ARCADE OVERFLOW by Remco 2017-12-29T00:12:56Z

Ok, so here I am!

It is hard to believe this is a Compo entry! It is so well done, I'm amazed!

There isn't really much I can say. Like others have said, having more games would be nice, having scores would be nice, a timer would be nice, but none is required for the game to be great, as the ratings have shown.

I thought to suggest you add a button to just skip time without action. I think maybe that would make the game easier, though that might not be your intention.

Thank you for rating my game, and congratulations on yours! You should be proud! :D

Dudes Vs All Kinds of Stuff by gassasin 2017-12-27T15:38:46Z

Very solid entry! I really liked the graphics and gameplay, oldschool feelings.

I just didn't understand why the fire rate for the engineer didn't increase on updates. I think that is a bug.

Anyway, congratulations on the great game!

Demon Hunt by AViTT 2017-12-28T14:50:09Z

Good job on completing a playable game!

Most of the feedback I was going to give has already been addressed on the Post Jam version.

The "aim mode" works well, and I think it would be nice on a survivor horror game. You would just need to make the game darker and put some spooky music on the background with the "aim mode" being the default.

Another way would be to leave the top view, but make the character shoot always to the front of the screen, so the player can aim with the mouse while moving away from the demons. I think this would be best for an action game.

Anyway, good job on the limited timeframe! :D

The Hoarder's Curse by FuriousWitch 2017-12-19T01:15:12Z

Hi, @furiouswitch! :D

As promised, here is my first review for this Ludum Dare:

Interesting idea, too bad you didn't have time to do all you wanted... As the others have said, the game as it is now is just a race to build towers, and once you build all of them, you've won. The only challenge is moving from platform to platform and waiting until you have enough gold.

By the way, the "ninja thiefs" were getting stuck sometimes towards the end. It happened around the chest area and outside, but only some of them got stuck, and they eventually started moving again. I don't know if that is a bug or if it was intentional.

Maybe with just a bit of balancing you could make the game too hard if you build all your towers too fast, so some strategy would have to be used to maximize the final gold without losing control before that.

The visuals were quite nice, so kudos on that! And congratulations for making yet another Ludum Dare game! Lets keep giving it our best! :D

Things are getting worse by Dyn 2017-12-28T17:39:47Z

The server seems to be down, I can't play.

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-05T13:57:40Z

@ilseroth, I can't reproduce that, sorry. Can you tell me how to make that happen? And thank you very much for playing! :D

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-05T14:52:38Z

@ilseroth, I think I got it. I was using the "A" key during debug testing to "simulate" eating a cheese, and forgot to disable that for the final build. I hadn't noticed it before because I was testing using the arrow keys instead of WASD... :P

I removed that now, so can you download and try the game again? Thank you very much either way!

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-10T20:03:03Z

Thank you, @furiouswitch! As usual, I didn't have enough time to add more content. I barely got what is there working before the time was out, and the mouse and cheese didn't even get propper textures.

I still didn't have time to start rating games, but once I do yours will be the first! I see you made one for LD #39 too, good job! :D

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-28T00:42:29Z

Thanks, guys!

@luvinicius, we didn't have enough time to create multiple levels, but if we did we would have done that.

Thank you all for playing!

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-28T16:09:01Z

@brycetaylor, thank you very much for playing and for the feedback! :D

Yeah, that was my goal when I programmed the cheese. :P

The wheel wasn't supposed to be a trap, you can use it to burn some fat and leave before the broom gets you, but we didn't have enough time for the level design, so the wheel ended up too hard to use and survive.

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-28T16:53:08Z

Hi, @remco! Yes, it was me! :P

After you left Rude Bear Rumble we reached a dead end, so you didn't miss much... haha

It is possible to eat the cheese ball(s) right before the wheel, enter the wheel, burn a little fat and leave without dying, but I admit it is harder than it was supposed to be.

Thank you very much for playing and for the feedback! :D

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2017-12-29T00:14:16Z

Thank you very much for playing and for leaving feedback, @ambi! :D

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2022-09-30T13:38:57Z

Thanks everyone for playing it and for giving feedback!

This game was submitted back in 2017, but for some reason people come back to rate it every Jam. If you're rating games for the current Jam you might want to make sure the game is a current submission :)

Get Your Sheep Together by Bros. 2017-12-28T20:18:03Z

Very cool game! And made on Java, there aren't many Java games here.

This game reminded me of an old Noah's Ark game for the NES, look: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_Adventures

In it Noah stacked multiple animals and carried them, much like the sheep in your game.

Good job making this! It seems very polished! :)

Get Your Sheep Together by Bros. 2017-12-28T20:54:18Z

@notpresident35, but Bible Adventures is a classic! Noah on steroids! :D

Virus and Boom by gankei 2017-12-28T14:26:36Z

Nice game! It was fun, and the "hand drawn" style graphics were nice. I liked the progression of the story! I think I lost on the last level.

The music volume is a bit too high, though, and the menu fools us into thinking it can be clicked, when it can't. Good job, nonetheless! :D

LD44 — Your life is currency

Rude Bear Reassembled by alexrose 2019-05-04T18:18:47Z

The gameplay is fluid and nice! I enjoyed the game a lot, congratulations!

However, I do think the sound got too loud when I was farming for ears. Maybe there should be a cap on the volume. In the end I just muted the game to avoid the insane noise.

It would also be nice to have a pause feature, but that is not quite as important.

In the end I had multiple bazookas and could just shoot down to fly. I had a lot of eyes so I knew what was where, and I just explored everything. Only then I realised I had to go west for the boss fight (it was quite easy with multiple bazookas).

Anyway, well done! :D

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-20T14:12:25Z

First of all, thank all of you very much for playing and leaving feedback!

@hunttis, I'm sorry that happened. On some machines the game becomes windowless, but I couldn't figure out why yet. Thank you for letting me know what machine you're using!

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-20T14:47:06Z

I'm sorry for your trouble, @gustavo-christino. The game did end up with a pretty huge image for the Mani character sprites, so that might have made the game slower for you.

Were you unable to move past your initial position? You can move using either arrow keys or WASD, and jump using the space bar. I'm sorry, I forgot to inform the controls, gonna edit the page here to list them now!

Thank you very much for playing and for giving feedback! :D

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-20T16:53:06Z

I'm sorry for that @ethproductions!

The white boxes problem has already happened before, but it was on a machine with a low-end onboard graphics proccessor. Is that your case as well?

I might investigate why the game is using so much memory, that was unexpected.

Thank you very much for playing and for leaving feedback!

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-20T21:41:07Z

I thank all of you very much for playing Mani and leaving feedback! :D

@mika-la-grand, I had also seen that minimized problem, and it seems to be a similar problem to the one @hunttis had. Anyway, thank you for trying to run my game!

Health Risk by Raziyya 2019-05-20T14:40:31Z

Nice shooter!

The only issue I had was the game lagging a lot when it was full screen (windowed mode worked fast, though). Oh, that and never having enough health to buy anything, lol.

Over by alixmi 2019-05-21T14:05:15Z

Interesting concept, too bad there is only one stage.

Controls with WASD start malfunctioning after a while. That did not happen with the arrow keys.

Deterring Delinquents from a Dragon's Dwelling by Jomiak 2019-05-20T13:59:04Z

Nice game!

When I tried to run it crashed, then when I ran it again it didn't crash. Next one crashed, and the next didn't. That was a little weird, it is like it crashes exactly half the times I try to run it.

Piggy Bank's Adventure by Comet From Outer Space 2019-05-20T12:39:20Z

This game is very polished. You guys should be proud!

Sure, it is very short, but at least it works, is pretty and feels right.

The only problem I found was when the pig is walking down, it kind of "hops" on the ground, and I can't jump when it is not touching the ground. That made me fall in the pit the first time, even though I pressed the jump button.

Congratulations for the awesome work!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Hasteus by exilegl 2020-10-21T05:38:16Z

Congratulations on the game! Since it is a compo entry I know it must have been hard to get everything working in time. As others have said, it would be nice to have a way to lose, but also if you just hold the left mouse button down and just drag the mouse around the game ends very quickly, so maybe you should also think of a way to modify the gameplay to both add difficulty and also avoid repetitive clicking.

Loop Trap by Knatt 2020-10-24T14:57:03Z

Cool game! I didn't get trapped like the others, but it did happen to me multiple times that I clicked outside of the game's screen by accident, which put another window in front of the game and almost made me lose. Another small gripe I had was that when the level ended the game just seemed to reset the counter and continue... I would have liked to see some feedback for completing the level.

But considering this was made for the compo, I believe it was very well done and it is amazing you got so much out in time! Congratulations!!!

Faithless Land by Swynfel 2020-10-26T10:08:17Z

This is such an ambitious entry, well done!

It was fun to learn all the different effects and how to win, so I was entertained at the beginning. However, after a while it got a little boring and repetitive. The store didn't seem to have anything worth buying, either.

But given the short duration of the Jam, what is there is already plenty! Congratulations! :D

Dogs Memes For Safety by Theo Ark 2020-10-11T07:00:29Z

Nice work! From your comment it seems you did some custom 2D hit detection... I didn't even notice that while playing. I won right away, but I guess that is because I saw the "How to play" page before jumping into the game. If you make more levels you should try to make them harder. :)

Oh, and thanks for rating my game!

Loopark by Tex Killer 2020-10-07T13:58:12Z

I'm sorry, I was very tired at the end of this LD and didn't notice that the upload had failed. It is fixed now.

The game was developed in Unity3D. I will generate builds for the other platforms but didn't have time for that yet. I'm at work now but I'll try to do that later tonight.

When I manage to upload a Windows version I'll be sure to let you both know. Thank you very much for the interest in our game! :D

Loopark by Tex Killer 2020-10-10T05:14:21Z

Thank you guys for playing!

@walaber, selecting track sections is really not ideal, but we didn't have time to make it any better. I did just find a bug that affected some screen resolutions and fixed it though, so it might behave a little better now if it was happening to you.

@fronwewq, thanks! Those two levels were all we could do during the Jam, like you probably guessed. We might release a post jam version with more levels later on. :)

Loopark by Tex Killer 2020-10-10T19:08:12Z

Thank you both for the great and detailed feedback! :D

@gameag: I was on such a rush by the end of the Jam that I just reloaded the scene on the restart button to get it working in time. The selection of track segments was also a little wonky, but I didn't try to improve it and instead focused on finishing the other parts of the game so it would be at least playable. Everything was such a rush, so I guess the official way to close the game for now is pressing Alt+F4, haha

@swynfel: We did plan on having different kinds of track modifications, like this spring thingy (illustrated by Lucas): jump_spring.png

We also planned on having different cart heads, like those (also illustrated by Lucas): WhatsApp Image 2020-10-05 at 11.38.20.jpeg WhatsApp Image 2020-10-05 at 11.50.40.jpeg

This was supposed to be attached to the head cart as a chain of carts, but there was no time left to add it to the game (3D model by Marcos): WhatsApp Image 2020-10-03 at 11.44.25.jpeg

Anyway, many ideas, not much time. Maybe we can add everything else in a post jam version!

Loopark by Tex Killer 2020-10-15T01:06:52Z

Thank you for playing! :D

@peterfonts: Ideally that would be the way to choose the track modification, especially when we build a mobile version, but there was no time to implement it, and since there were only two modifications I just went with left/right mouse buttons. Regarding placing modifications while the cart is moving, that was how it was working at first, but then the game became way too easy since one modification could be removed and used again whenever necessary. The player wouldn't have to plan the right placements beforehand and it would be almost impossible to fail.

Loopark by Tex Killer 2020-10-27T19:59:37Z

Thank all of you guys and gals for playing our game! It was fun making the game, and it was also fun playing the amazing games from the other people in LD47.

I hope to see all of you again next time! :D

Feed the Bear by Emperor Eagle 2020-10-21T05:55:54Z

Cute game!

Too bad the honey and the beehives were always invisible to me... I couldn't get any to appear even once. This had happened to one of my previous games, and the reason ended up being a sprite that was too big for embedded laptop GPUs (like the one I'm using now), so maybe the resolution of your sprite is too big, making it not show up on low-end graphic cards.

Interesting fact: if you open the game and just stand still, you can simply wait to get as much honey as you want. I'm now at 203 and counting. So maybe you should think of a way to force players to move the bear.

A Really Bad Day by Shyrro 2020-10-10T06:49:46Z

Cool looking game, it is very polished! It is tough to make many good branching paths in just 3 days, so even though it didn't seem to branch too much, that is to be expected. Congratulations on the art and on the gameplay, it was very good!

By the way, now there is a screenshot and a Windows port of my game. Feel free to take a look if you want! :)

Cellar's Nocturne by Dane Tesla 2020-10-24T14:37:58Z

This has such high quality, it is stunning! Congratulations guys, the game is excelent!

I only had one bug: in the room of the "dust dog", I have clicked the spirit but the animation kept repeating in a loop, and I couldn't move. I restarted the game and got to that same room again, but then clicking on the spirit worked correctly.

Oh my Life by KarenFarah 2020-10-18T07:50:22Z

Good immersion and a creative take on the theme! It could use some more interaction from the user, as right now the user only has to search for things and nothing else, but I understand it is hard to make more during the limited timeframe. Anyway, I enjoyed it, so congratulations!

The Archer by llukass 2020-10-27T19:29:35Z

Cool game! It has nice looking art, and a calm soundtrack.

At first I thought you didn't have time to make an end goal (since the archer can't shoot his arrows), but then I found a key, so I kept going until I managed to enter the last gate. It was surprisingly satisfying, and the scenario is beautiful.

Congratulations on making the game! :)

Stealth Line by HippolyteA 2020-10-10T06:30:06Z

This is a very fun and immersive game, well done! Sometimes the dudes strayed away from the path and had to return... I'm not sure if this is because of me drawing the path wrong or if they got lost or something, but that added to the suspense of seeing what would happen. I think it does lack some progression and end goal, though, so after some attempts the game starts to get repetitive.

Overall, very nice job! Congratulations!

Oh, and my game has a Windows port as well now. You can check it out if you want! :)

Fire Exit by HisHighness 2020-10-19T03:00:58Z

First of all, congratulations on making this game, it is very polished!

The others have said almost everything I was going to say, but even with those things the game is quite enjoyable. The background music has some loud and obnoxious screeching though, and that made me want to mute it sometimes.

Very nice game overall, congratulations again! :D

Dwarven Delve by fronwewq 2020-10-26T10:04:55Z

Nice little puzzle, congratulations!

It is well executed and works well, but I think it is somewhat too slow and there is no reason for the player to do things fast, as it is always possible to just wait until you are in the right position. I believe it would also be nice to have some sort of progression, like new pieces, enemies that chase the player, faster conveyor belt, etc.

That aside, good job on creating a polished game on such a short time! :D

LD49 — Unstable

Last Chance by FuriousWitch 2022-10-04T20:59:14Z

Hi, @furiouswitch! Long time no jam, haha

I was looking at some past jams and decided to take a look at some of your more recent submissions.

The art of this game is so good! How did you make those pixelated 3D models? They are great, congratulations!

At first I didn't notice it was possible to take shelter, but then I read the description. The concept is quite interesting and it is fun to play!

I'm looking forward to participating in the same jam as you again :)

Last Chance by FuriousWitch 2022-10-05T09:19:40Z

Thank you for the feedback, @furiouswitch! I think I fixed the 500 server error.

I'm not sure why Little Scout 2 isn't working for you... I remember you had problems in the past when you used an integrated GPU, could it be the same issue?

In any case thanks again. I almost dropped out of the current jam too but somehow I managed to push through and submit. I'll take my time rating games now. I hope you are well! Feel free to contact me whenever, I should stay active in the site at least until the rating period ends :)

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Junk Seller by kimau 2022-10-05T22:24:42Z

Cool concept, but it is hard to see some pieces, and even harder to grab them... Sometimes the wrong piece would be selected by mistake and it was hard to remove it. Without a goal there doesn't seem to be any reason to keep playing after you understand how it works.

I think if you made the shapes easier to see and pick, added goals (ex: leveling up, change of scene, etc) the game would be a lot more interesting, but I understand the time constraint is prohibitive, especially for a compo entry on a new platform while you've got a cold. Good job!

Beat Survivor by pndaa 2022-10-08T15:32:40Z

This is probably the most innovative jam game I've played so far, and one of the most fun to play! It is very addicting. It was kind of sad to stop playing after I unlocked everything. Very well done!

The only things I think could be improved are what other people have mentioned (enemy bullets too hard to see, lack of variation in the rythm) and maybe the penalty for combo breaks. If you break combo late in the game there is almost no chance to recover. Maybe upgrades should also provide smaller benefits when not in a combo? But those are very minor issues, the game is very good. Congratulations!

Kaboomer! by 0x01F0 2022-10-14T04:01:33Z

The game looks and sounds great. I don't think I had as much lag as some of the other players, but I also gave up as it was very hard to pick up the bomb. I had to be very close and the aim had to be exactly on the bomb. Maybe it should be possible to pick up the bomb as long as you're within X distance of it and looking at it's general direction, even when the aim is not exactly on it?

Also, when the bomb fell away from the lights it was hard to see it and aim at it.

I also tried playing with a controller, but turning the camera with the right stick was extremely slow so I switched to mouse and keyboard.

Even though it was very hard to play I believe this game has potential to be very fun. Nice take on the theme, btw!

@fedir @hexyvexy @maxbro I'm sorry for that. It seems I introduced a division by zero in the submitted version. There were also some other issues with that version. I fixed those (list of changes was added to the description), but since the fixes were done after the deadline I understand it if you or anyone else would give me low ratings. Either way the game was very rushed and I'm not very happy with it.

Also @hexyvexy, maybe the division by zero was triggering Windows Defender? I'll try to figure out what is going on there.

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-04T18:26:19Z

@fedir Thank you very much for giving it a try!

I assume you mean the spring at the start. When you stand on it while you're big it gets compressed, and if you stay on it until you turn small it will propel you up.

The first game (from LD 38) had a tutorial for the spring, but this time there was no time left for tutorials, unfortunately

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-05T23:30:22Z

@fabula-rasa Thank you very much for playing! Yes, I think I should adjust the jumping mechanic, it is a little weird... Did you manage to reach one of the endings?

@arihan10 I'm sorry for that issue. Are you using an onboard GPU? In past jams some people had similar problems running our engine's games with onboard GPUs

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-06T00:14:12Z

@ch33sybacon Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

@arihan10 Yes, I meant integrated graphics, but since yours is not integrated I don't know what could be happening...

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-06T01:05:16Z

@bozzwtf Thank you for playing!

@fabula-rasa I'm sorry for the bugs, and thank you very much for the great feedback!

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-06T12:18:40Z

@sash-a Thank you for playing! I agree with you. I think maybe the zoom should be smaller so you can see more of the scenario, but I did not have time to experiment with that before the time was over...

@benjamin If you want a little tip: the electric fan will only propel you while you're small (left passage), and you can steer yourself while in the air (right passage). Anyway, thank you very much for playing!

I don't know if it helps, but here is a map of the entire level: map.png Thanks again, everyone!

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-07T08:31:17Z

@guyro @mooptychunk @pndaa Thank you all for playing!

@guyro @pndaa Yeah, 10 seconds is kind of long for what I did, but I had to fit the theme somehow... If I do work on Little Scout outside of Ludum Dare I'm thinking this will be only one level and the time between size changes would be smaller. The other levels should probably control like the first Little Scout, allowing the player to change sizes at will.

@pndaa Congratulations on making it to the ending! During testing I used the character animation when standing still as a counter (when his eyes stared at me X times I knew I had to go :stuck_out_tongue:) Initially I planned to draw cracks in the character's helmet and have them glow every second to work as a counter, but there was nowhere near enough time for that, unfortunately... A minimap could be nice, but I think I would prefer to fix the zoom so the player can explore properly. Congratulations on your SFML game from back then! For me it's not that hard to keep using it because my engine is already done (the content is coded in a portuguese pseudo-language that gets interpreted) and platforming was already tweaked from previous entries using it, but there are a bunch of bugs that I never take the time to fix... (sorry about them, btw) Anyway, thank you very much for playing and for the detailed feedback!

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-08T01:37:00Z

@druvsaft @akkara @taximan981 Thank you all for playing!

@taximan981 In the first game (from LD 38) I added tutorials that explained the spring and other things, but this time I had no time left... I've now added an explanation of the item mechanics to the description, maybe that will help

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-09T01:13:52Z

@resacagames @empty-set Thank you both for playing and giving feedback!

@empty-set I agree, I think this theme is very hard to integrate into a game without making it less fun... I down-voted it during theme voting, but I guess a lot of people liked the idea. You can try the first Little Scout if you want, in it you can control the size changes: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/little-scout

@k-s-raj In which places did you have collision issues?

bot.copy() by Druvsaft 2022-10-09T03:36:09Z

It was an interesting concept, well done! It was a little annoying to have to "charge" the moves though, maybe it would have been best to just lock movement for 1 second after each move but after the 1 second passes the player can move instantly without charging. Or instead of 10 seconds just make it 10 moves with no timer, but then it wouldn't be "every 10 seconds"

I was able to clear some stages by using the blue robot as an obstacle for the red robots, to prevent them from going where they shouldn't. I liked the ending screen, it turned into a crowded party  Good job!

The End Position by Taximan981 2022-10-09T04:15:01Z

Nice game, it took a while to get the end position. Good job! What is a metal worm, though?

Neon Speed Gauntlet by Empty Set 2022-10-09T04:48:42Z

The game looks and plays good, well done!

It was a bit difficult, and that is usually ok, but having to return to the level select and having to go through everything again just to get another chance felt very frustrating. I tried the second area many times and then gave up after reaching that area's last stage and failing. Maybe there should be a difficulty setting to start with more lives or something? Or maybe going back to the start of the area after failing instead of the level selection screen.

Despite the difficulty I did enjoy the game. Great job!

Elementary Defence! by Paulsams 2022-10-06T01:24:09Z

Interesting concept! I've played both the version here and the post-jam one, but I don't think I got to the end boss. It seems you have to know exactly the best combination for each boss beforehand, otherwise there is no way to get there. I'm pretty sure I got most of the combinations right on my last run, but I still couldn't reach the last boss. Anyway, good job!

Fall Girl by civmaniac 2022-10-06T00:11:39Z

This game is very well made, congratulations! I wish I had better feedback to give... The only annoyance I had was the jump not working while the wash button is pressed, but that is easily avoidable. After reading about the secret ending I went back to try to find it, but I could not. I guess it is very well hidden, haha

Fall Girl by civmaniac 2022-10-08T02:40:48Z

@fabula-rasa Ok, now I got the secret ending. Once I found it I thought I had to do the thing multiple times, it took me a while to understand it can only be done once... :stuck_out_tongue: Great job to the both of you!

Every 00001010 Seconds by Blanky and Rocket 2022-10-07T03:20:06Z

I could not figure out what to do. It seems the buttons control the speed of the platforms, but I could not find a way for the small robot to climb on the higher platform, and there seems to be nothing bellow that.

Every 00001010 Seconds by Blanky and Rocket 2022-10-07T03:59:06Z

I got to the end, but the last elevator seems broken (the button always lowers it, it re-spawns in the top). It was possible to finish with only one robot, though. The game feels buggy, but I believe it has potential if the bugs are fixed. It is a little annoying not being able to control the vertical camera angle, though, so maybe it should use a more traditional first person camera mode with the mouse? Anyway, good job!

Into the Color Dementia by Phantom49 2022-10-07T03:27:57Z

I do not understand this game. It seems unfinished. If I jump over the blocks there seems to be nothing else and it just scrolls to the right infinitely, and if I push the blocks they eventually all turn black but nothing else happens and it also scrolls to the right infinitely. The colors look kind of pretty I guess, but maybe the game shouldn't have been published yet?

Into the Color Dementia by Phantom49 2022-10-07T03:46:34Z

Oh, I only saw your post now. I see it's your first try and you're having trouble, but don't worry, it was like this for all of us in our first attempt (I didn't even publish anything on my first attempt, and I was doing it with a team). Since the EXTRA category allows late submissions maybe you can still try to finish it?

Making Connections by PostFrog 2022-10-07T15:12:58Z

This game is interesting! It is very hard, though. I could only vote out sheep, but it seems the second day is not implemented as the voting dialogue just repeats forever. I managed to unlock another conversation option with chameleon but I don't know how I did it and I couldn't do it again when I tried.

The journal seems unnecessary, it doesn't seem to affect the dialogue options that are available.

Also, the "limited time" mentioned in the description doesn't seem to be true, voting starts after specific dialogue options and there seems to be no timer.

I would like to keep playing the next days if the game gets developed further. Overall, great job!

10 planet of the Alos system by Fedir 2022-10-04T18:52:15Z

Graphics are very nice, as the others mentioned.

Even though the gameplay is very simplistic (the only thing that stops you from moving are the boundaries of the map, everything else seems to be decoration), on my first run I got stuck bellow the bottom right cactus somehow.

Enemies will always chase you, and they do nothing to the ship or the droid. I don't know if it was intentional, but it seems the best strategy is to just keep running in circles without ever firing. You'll gather a mob of enemies but they will always be far behind you. If I didn't get stuck in the cactus I believe I would have succeeded in my first run.

Maybe there should be some incentive to shooting the enemies? They could maybe lose interest in you and attack the droid, or maybe they surround you somehow...

Anyway, congratulations on submitting the game!

unbeLEAFable by MYTHRILSMITHS 2022-10-06T02:12:55Z

It took me a while to get the hang of it as well, but once I did I no longer missed any events, got to event 70 and decided to stop. It doesn't have an ending and the difficult doesn't spike, right? Maybe something should be done to give the player a reason to keep playing, otherwise it feels like doing the same thing forever after a while...

Anyway, the art was amazing like others have said, the sound was nice and the game is very well finished. Congratulations!

Alien Abductor by ch33sybacon 2022-10-06T01:49:49Z

I second @r3d3r's suggestion of the cursor at the abduction spot, but maybe this would play better if we controlled the ship with buttons instead of the mouse (because the ship speed is limited).

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but even though the "clean debris" option "costs 5 rocks" you can do it with less rocks. I understand if it is intentional, it is just a little inconsistent with the other options where you must pay the full cost.

Either way, good job on the game!

Lights Out by booremi 2022-10-05T21:49:18Z

Scary game, it seems very finished apart from the missing character models. Congratulations!

I could only find 4 batteries in my best run though. How many are there? Is there a way to win?

Split-Second Darkness by Edtg 2022-10-05T22:13:21Z

Well done, some floors took me more than one try to clear.

What does the ending mean, though?

LD53 — Delivery

Santa's Workshop by citsua 2023-05-12T06:28:40Z

Impressive game, well done! It is fun to plan the factory and then set it to work.

What threw me off by the end however was when I got to the North America level: my previous factory was still there but the inputs and outputs were all different, so I would have had to destroy everything and start over. I understand there might not have been time to code proper starting factories for each level, but all previous levels had similar inputs and outputs and would only require minor changes, so I felt they were fine.

Another issue I had with the HTML5 version was whenever I clicked there was some lag, and the click was processed in the position of the mouse after the lag ended instead of the position of the mouse when the click happened. This resulted in machines being placed in the wrong position because of the mouse moving out after clicking. In the end I got used to it and waited for the lag to end after each click, but that was annoying.

Other than those issues I believe the game is fun and a post-jam version would be very promising! Congratulations! :)

Animaternity by Tex Killer 2023-05-02T18:20:14Z

@citsua, thank you for playing! Yeah, it definitely lacks polish, we barely had time to deliver the game as it is.

Turns out I had to install ffmpeg before building the WebGL version on Unity3D otherwise the audio didn't get converted... I reuploaded the build with that fixed, but we only had time to add 2 audios: a background music loop and a sound effect for the incubator.

The long way around by Fluburbio 2023-05-13T07:32:21Z

Good job, this game was fun!

The visual art-style immediately reminded me of the Pokemon games and, now that you mentioned it, the humor is very characteristic of Earthbound, so I believe you hit your mark :)

Like others above I also had a little trouble moving and avoiding collisions, the music played twice simultaneously with a delay and it was a little hard to get past the dad at the end, but for the time of the jam it is well enough polished. Well done!
