LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Moment for Story by Plepletier 2022-10-14T23:47:26Z

Its an interesting idea and I definitely appreciate the effort here but unfortunately I personally didn't really felt like it worked as a game. It feels too slow for what it is and I lost interest pretty quickly with it and the way its presented):

GHST-PRTCL by LoHii 2022-10-15T19:22:02Z

Was nice soundwise, and I like the neon visuals direction. However movement didn't feel the best here, which is a shame for game where its the main mechanic in. Nice idea though.

Missdemanor by alaah 2022-10-17T16:34:58Z

Interesting stuff. Audio and overall mood was really well made, but the movement feels weird, especially when jumping and climbing on things.

Just Roll With It! by Cornflowerblue 2022-10-21T14:39:56Z

Looks and sounds great, love the idea! didn't feel the camera was handled the best for this type of gameplay though

10 Second Shmup by stmatn 2022-10-15T18:40:03Z

The main idea is cool and could probably be developed into something really fun, however the game as it is right now is very boring as most of the turns nothing won't really happen and you just have to wait, which is a shame. I do genuinely kinda like the graphics and minimal use of sound though. It gives me nostalgic Windows 3.0 freeware type of game vibes(^:

Exorcist Patrol by PeachTreeOath 2022-10-17T00:07:19Z

Interesting battle mechanic! quite enjoyed it, and feel it could be developed even further . Art was really cute as well(^:

Marins Dream Garden by boaheck-artgent 2022-10-21T14:32:43Z

The graphics and mood are really cute. Got kind of confused when it got to actually advancing, but its a nice entry(^:

Speed Barber by PhoenixofForce 2022-10-08T17:13:47Z

The use of the theme and sound design are nice. The lack of any actual progression made it kinda boring after the 3rd customer, but a cute idea and definitely impressive for a game made in 10 hours(^:

Paper Summoner by Narudgi 2022-10-16T14:49:16Z

Graphics are really nice looking. The battle system in itself is actually pretty fun, but the enemies get ridiculously bullet-spongy and it stops being fun because of that (the battles are still really easy, they are just WAY too long). Really wanted to finish the game, but dropped it after seeing the 5th fight- which is a shame because the core concept and presentation are great! still impressive stuff for a game jam, and I believe it could definitely be developed further into something cool

The Forgotten Crawler by wolderado 2022-10-17T23:36:53Z

Cool Graphics and concept. Impressive stuff for a one man entry!

Assault on Hartblood Hotel by kiririn51 2022-10-05T00:21:49Z

Had a lot of fun with it! Art is great as always (especially loved the portrait art for all the characters), and the music was excellent as well. Liked the way you feel like you dropped-in in the middle of the story and experiencing only a small fragment of a way bigger world and narrative.

Gameplay-wise it was nice as well, I found the game way too easy, but on the other hand I'm not the biggest fan of turn-based gameplay, so I did enjoy how quick and snappy it was. The game-feel is pretty good overall.

Didn't encountered any actual bugs, only mild annoyances from talking to/accidentally walking into NPCs I already talked to, only to get the same long unskipable dialogues again. Also I had a few seconds of getting to move after killing the last boss right before the game ended properly. Again, not anything actually terrible and more of some noticeable off moments gamefeel-wise.

Always a pleasure to play your stuff!

NIMBOSTRATUS by huskitch 2022-10-10T23:25:24Z

It looks really nice graphically, but once you actually start the game everything feels very off. sometimes rounds ended on the moment I started them, and there's a lack of actual feedback when killing enemies and dying

Little Scout 2 by Tex Killer 2022-10-15T18:14:27Z

Its really impressive and admirable you used your own engine! However the game itself is unfortunately kinda buggy and controls didn't feel that good (the delay in the jump for example didn't really work in my opinion). Also I felt that the 10 seconds idea wasn't implanted the best way- having to wait every time so you could jump on the springs when you're small got tedious pretty quickly. I found myself just waiting and not doing anything most of my playthrough because of that.

BARRAGE by egawag 2022-10-09T21:54:14Z

Nice! Thought this isn't going to be a game for me, but found it kinda addictive in the end and kept going until I won. Looks kinda too basic for my taste, but definitely work and plays smoothly

Distracted Driver by organicpencil 2022-10-16T00:34:14Z

Unexpectedly one of the funniest games I played this jam. Its pure chaos and I FELT that

Ludum Date by JohnnyR 2022-10-16T11:42:12Z

The art is really cute! will be nice to get to play it eventually(^:

Baseball of Max Stress by snesgaard 2022-10-17T16:46:35Z

Nice little entry. The art was really cute(^:

Intern Inferno by unplugred 2022-10-17T17:01:49Z

Fun and stressful game. Absolutely loved the graphics and music!

Business Munch by Yoni 2022-10-05T14:56:04Z

Nice! The use of the theme and the overall idea is pretty fun. Enjoyed the music and art (אללה חגי) as well!

Controls were kinda weird, felt like I was fighting them half of the time and that they were a bigger threat than the actual monster. Sometimes my dude just won't jump and collision was off as well, so every time I time I jumped I wasn't sure where my dudes gonna end (on the other hand, it was more funny than annoying most of the time). Also took me a while to understand that the fan blades kills you (and that it wasn't a bug). Felt like it wasn't shown properly, but maybe I missed something I dunno lol.

On another (buggy) note, the monster counter on the side never reset when I reset the lvl. The thing was going on its own pace so at some point it hard to know when I'm gonna get eaten. Also I had to change from Firefox to chrome to get the game to work.

10 Second Backdoor by CreepyCatdev 2022-10-16T23:56:40Z

Cute stuff overall. Some of the puzzles are nice (and some are just evil- I gave up on 4-3 lol) and I really enjoyed the music. Also it won't hurt to add some screenshots from the game over here(^:

The Goose Bureau by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2022-10-15T23:28:34Z

Really impressive stuff for a jam. Gameplay is nice overall but I found the movement way too slippery, and sometimes it felt unnecessarily hard to make some really basic jumps. The soundtrack though is probably my favorite from this Ludum Dare so far!

Rockatoo by AdamCYounis 2022-10-08T17:22:07Z

Pretty good! love the art, and the gameplay and music was nice as well. Game feels and look really polished for a compo

Time Thief by YellowKamel 2022-10-11T14:36:22Z

Wasn't a big fun of the execution, but definitely an interesting idea. Something about the way the text was presented, and maybe even written, felt kinda unwelcoming and hard to get into (maybe its the font? not sure honestly. Probably more than that)

Citri Plays Noirwood by AploveStudio 2022-10-19T16:12:37Z

Great stuff! Loved the overall idea, and the graphics and sound were really good as well. The campy ending was a nice touch as well lol

Countdown Cowboy by waffleworksgames 2022-10-20T08:17:47Z

Really nice stuff for a compo! Plays pretty smooth and nice use of the theme(^:

Swapwood Quest R by Saturnyoshi 2022-10-19T17:04:32Z

Amazing stuff! Might be my favorite entry so far. Came for the beautiful pixel art, and stayed for the actually really fun gameplay. There's defiantly potential here for more! Also just overall it feels really polished and smooth, which is always a great and impressive thing to see in an entry(^:

You're Furnished! The 10-Second Movers by Xenith 2022-10-16T15:01:58Z

Cute idea. Nice sprites (the character art is the title screen is great!)

DecaDare by Caladrius 2022-10-16T11:57:39Z

Great stuff! absolutely loved the art (and mixing of styles) and overall presentation (the music was really fun as well). Also a lot of funny moments! Replayed it multiple times to try to catch all the the minigames. Definitely one of my favorites games from this jam(^:

StrayaCraft by Enad96 2022-10-17T16:42:16Z

Gameplay was kind of a mess, but the portrait art and main idea were beautiful I need more crusty unhinged aussies in space thanks

Count Down Dracula by Guilloteam 2022-10-15T19:00:09Z

That was fun! game feels overall pretty good. Graphics are very nice and the mood works well (The grainy filter is a great touch). Once I understood what to upgrade it got really easy, but overall definitely of the best game I played from this jam! Some well made stuff.

Alice In Ten Seconds by Golin 2022-10-19T15:59:28Z

The artwork is beautiful and I really liked the 2D>3D change in the middle. The platforming in the first half wasn't the best though, especially because of the double jump, which worked for only half of the time (and in the other half on played the jumping sound without actually having me ascend). Still, very nice entry!

Please don't litter by KenForest 2022-10-21T15:00:11Z

Nice graphics and overall mood! I did feel however the gameplay got boring really fast (as well as buggy), and movement was really off. It seems from the comments though that it gets more interesting later and that sounds cool, so I'll might give it another shot soon(^:

Bygone Melodies by Save Sloth Studios 2022-10-17T19:09:26Z

While the gameplay itself felt to simple and repetitive to my taste (and I wish there was better feeling feedback for pressing on the right/wrong time), its still one of my favorites from this jam! the whole presentation is really well made and I absolutely loved the art and animations! This one is just full of charm(^:

0123456789 by muzakefron 2022-10-09T00:25:00Z

Love the manic-acid-neon-idunnolol aesthetic here. Also like how loud and in your face the whole game is (including the music which is really nice and fits perfectly). Gameplay was pretty good as well, really enjoyed the last few levels and overall it feels pretty tight. I only wish that the levels had more art and details in them, cause its kind of a shame how basic they look. I dig the art of the character between the levels as well (the animated lines are a great touch), but the sprite in the actual levels is much less to my taste and I feel that if you made it in the same artstyle as in the between levels sections and more dynamic looking it will make the game feel and look way better. Really nice stuff for a compo!

Don't Go Into the Light by Jaco van Hemert 2022-10-06T13:05:00Z

Pretty nice platformer. The little art made for each memory collected is a nice touch. Music and sound design was good as well. One thing that felt off about the graphics for me is the font, which looked really out of place with the rest of the game's aesthetics. But other than that not bad at all!

Making Connections by PostFrog 2022-10-15T19:38:55Z

@wadoral thank you for trying the game!

Actually, we weren't that interested in the chosen theme this time and decided just not to use it at all for the game. The name "Making Connections" is basically us joking about how we wished this (AKA Making Connections) was the theme that was chosen instead, as it fits our game perfectly lol.

We definitely agree that music is important for this game! We even had a teammate which made amazing music for it (including a unique theme for each character!). However, unfortunately, we didn't got it to run properly in the game on time for submission, so its been omitted from the jam version. You will eventually get to hear all of it though in the upgraded post-jam version we are currently working on!

Witch Upon A Star by WhaleJam 2022-10-10T23:40:41Z

The artstyle and overall aesthetic is adorable. Wish there was more to interact with though! I feel like the game ended before it even started. Movement could be a *little* faster in my opinion, and after talking with characters there's a bug where the 'F' prompt still appears despite the fact it won't do anything until I go away and back again. Overall cute stuff!

10 planet of the Alos system by Fedir 2022-10-08T03:39:33Z

I like the Flash Game look of the art, however the gameplay itself was pretty glitchy and hard to control. Also basic things in the overall feel like the lack of feedback when killing the enemies is unfortunate, it made the gameplay feel very unrewarding and unsatisfying. Still, kinda impressive and cool stuff to be made this quickly only by one person, so props on that as well.

EVERY TIME YOU BLINK by robobarbie 2022-10-17T00:39:12Z

Great game! Loved the use of the theme for the narrative and overall presentation. 10 seconds is probably not enough time for an interval for some the puzzles and it got pretty annoying with some of them, but I definitely was captivated enough to keep going until the end.

Cthulhu's Piano Panic by ThomasTheGameEngine 2022-10-16T11:36:50Z

Art and music are really great! Gameplay however was really buggy- sounds won't play half of the time and and enemies kept glitching in different ways (get stuck in assets, won't damage you and even won't die despite shooting them for a minute). Cool entry overall

U.F.O.: Unconventional Farming Operation by SMilfred 2022-10-10T15:42:19Z

Timeslime by asbjorn 2022-10-15T00:45:07Z

Love the idea of the music changing a bit with each loop! game looks nice for what it is, but didn't really felt like the concept worked. Maybe I just sucked at the game tho lol

Rhythm Loops by nataku92 2022-10-15T22:42:18Z

The art is really cute (do post your art somewhere? I would like to take a look if so) and I had good laugh when I realized I have to try to play in the end the mess I recorded before. My big problem is that there's a bit of a delay when playing a note in the recording the part, which make it hard for things to come out the way you want them to. Other than that its a nice entry!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-20T16:14:31Z

Definitely the best game I played in LD56 so far! one of the only ones that were genuinely very fun. The game could easily be at least 3 times longer and I wouldn't complain. Great use of the theme and the graphics and designs are charming. the UI and sound mixing could do with some work, but that's just nitpicking, as this game is a lot for a compo. Amazing job!

Interstellar Cargo Maidens by kiririn51 2024-10-08T23:33:25Z

Always glad to try new stuff by you guys. Sadly, I Didn't really connect with the gameplay this time- there wasn't any actual challenge or something interesting to do for the most part, and I felt all the shipping options didn't amount to anything and it wasn't worth going through or thinking about too much. The presentation however, is great as always. Loved the classic looking UI and sound design, and of course the old-school looking anime portraits are just beautiful. Nice experience overall(^:

Highway Crossing Frog by jcbeaureg 2024-10-15T00:14:41Z

Its a shame the game doesn't actually go anywhere. But being a frog who just beat up everything that stand in it's way, including cars and logs, is definitely pretty funny

Vi and the Fairies by Monado 2024-10-20T22:23:19Z

Really liked the cute character design, but the game itself was very clunky to play and lacked a lot of player feedback (mainly some stuff like sounds for taking damage or different kinds of actions). The timing of the jumps and when I was allowed to do certain actions at random times felt off, and I was kinda fighting the camera half the time. Still, quite a nice effort for a one man project((^:

Mouse Mouse by AploveStudio 2024-10-08T15:54:13Z

Great presentation! the graphics are and the music (once you go milk-mode) are great. The controls are definitely an interesting idea, but personally I never really got the hang of them. It's very easy to accidentally move your cursor outside of the screen when you need to get momentum and just lose all of it because of that. Also didn't realize what the actual objective of the level was for quite a while (getting the milk and going back to the start), if it was stated anywhere then I definitely missed it. Still found myself going for few more tries. Cool stuff overall. Also something about mouse tids I dunno lol.

Goober Goblins: A Nose Picking Simulator by Cam Moore 2024-10-14T23:44:02Z

Tiny Checkers by thyoi 2024-10-21T00:19:28Z

Might be my favorite LD56 game so far. Addicting gameplay and a very nice presentation. Had a lot of fun playing it the whole way through.

My only complaints are that clicking the mouse felt off a lot times. way too many unwanted moves were made because I accidentally unclicked the mouse on a random square. Something like having the option to cancel chosen piece with a right click could add a lot as well because it was annoying to exit a chosen piece to try to see another one's move set. Also would have got rid of the text's animation for the pieces information. In a game like this you want to get this kind of information as fast as possible, and having to wait for it all to appear every time was frustrating. Loading and unloading pieces between levels was annoying as well, as its isn't very clear where you have to leave a piece that you want to unload, especially in the end game when you have a full army.

All of those things, however, are quality of life stuff. The core of the game itself is great! Interested to see if you'll develop it further, I would gladly play some more levels.

btw I dig the cute avatar and the drawings you comment on other people's games here, so here ya go ((^: gamemaker2.png

Picky Snake by Ggross 2024-10-08T15:00:14Z

Cute Idea! I feel the game suffers from the lack of sound and visual feedback for the player and should feel a little bit less choppy, but the puzzles are nice and the amount of levels impressive. The title screen art is also very nice, I actually wish the game itself had a relatively similar aesthetic as well(^:

Sheep County by Steamhat 2024-10-11T18:56:42Z

Very nice! feels quite complete and has a cute mechanic to play around with (although I definitely should have got a friend to play with instead of trying to control it all by myself). Loved the joke of getting pet-per-sheep at the end of each level lol

davids vs. GOLIATHS by Fernofai 2024-10-23T14:52:36Z

Hundreds & Thousands by willianfhs 2024-10-20T22:37:07Z

Very nice visuals and presentation, everything moves and play smoothly. The magnifying glass is a great touch. Might be a me problem, but honestly got a bit overwhelmed by the gameplay and wasn't sure exactly which colors and shapes to hit and which not by the second level already lol. Still, some very nice stuff!

The drunk bassist of Hamelin by Fataljg 2024-10-08T17:43:12Z

Not a fan of the AI art to say the least, and the lack of consistent graphic direction overall was a bit of shame. However, the idea of having the screen filled with sentences dedicated to each roach you killed is a great joke, and I like the absurdity of the game's idea overall

Terrors were definitely Tiny'd. Nice lil aesthetic

WE LOVE THE BOYS! by Brain Siege Gameworks 2024-10-23T14:36:17Z

Loved and art and animations. Having multiple bois gang up on you is funny and looks great. Didn't connect to the gameplay itself unfortunately. Movement was way too slippery, and getting caught can sometimes lead to a buggy mess of getting stuck. With some debugging and polishing, I can see it being quite fun, the charm is already there(^:

The animations are very nice and well drawn! The game itself unfortunately ran very poorly for me (also didn't have any sound), and I wasn't engaged by the gameplay itself so much
