Cool idea! Was really fun to play. Good job

Cool idea! Was really fun to play. Good job
Cool idea. Its really hard to get the castles. Maybe you could save many space bars, if they would grow just a little slower ;)
Cool game! It made a very polished impression. Graphics and audio were really nice. throwing bombs at those pesky flying robots was kind of annoying, but generally the game was very good!
One of the best games I've seen so far. It's really fun to play. I have the habit to try to place as many rooms as possible, but ran out of waves to do so. Some more would have been great, but thats no point of criticism. The limited number of waves sure has its effect on the fun.
Very cool game! An upgrade-system, so that you could use collected honey, would be cool to see. Besides that very fun to play.
Amazing game! I've tried to master it for about an hour. Maybe I should use a proper mouse rather than a touchpad... I think it's highly addicting, although I join blob's rage about Greyson :D Would really like to play it on android.
Too bad, you couldn't finish...I'd really like to play the finished version
Very cool game! Was a bit annoying to collect all those orbs, but its fun anyway. Good work
Nice game. Maybe its my screen brightness, but plasma bulle are hard to see for me (well, maybe I just need glasses though :D ).
Reminded me of Raptor:Call of the shadows.
Nice idea. A second key or even automatic loading of presents to the sled and unloading to the cave would be cool, because it was a bit annoying to be forced to enter and exit the sled with each present. A bit more polish and bug-hunting and the game will be really nice. Good job.
It's too bad, that this isn't finished... I really like the idea and caught myself playing with just the 2 arms for a bit ^^ I'd like to see this project finished.
Cool music! Really enjoyable gameplay. Nice work
The physice are nicely done. Its actually fun, to push the cats around and let them bounce :D
Very cool idea! The animal-graphics are excellent :D Its a bit tricky, that the bridge is only secured on one side, but thats ok for a troll bridge ;)
It's difficult, but fun to play. Nice execution of RTS.
Cool idea! I like the concept.
Amazing idea and really cool graphics. I like the chalk and blackboard style. The mixture of real formulas and scriblings was fun. Bonus points for having my favorite meme on level 2. The gameplay could use some more polish. I actually try&erorred it... Maybe it would be fun to screw around with different values, than just the pushing force. Try putting in a butting for the simulation to start(A chalk-styled, but recognizable one would be nice). Too bad, there aren't more levels yet, because it really is fun to play... Very good game!
Nice game. Artwork is great and musik pretty cool. Bonus points for the black knight quotations :D
Wow, amazing work. I'm so jealous of all the features you managed to implement in that recordworth time. I really enjoyed it, besides it overshadows our entry so hard :( Really cool game. ;)
Nice game. I love the music. Reminds me a bit of old 8 bit days^^
Nice game! I like the level-generation and general idea. Unfortunately it's actualy easy to win, but besides that, the game is cool.
Nice graphics and very cool music. The gameplay would have been cool if there were missions or something tike that, but thats just my opinion.
Nice idea. The concept was really good for the theme. With a bit more polish this would have been a great game!
Pretty nice game. The music was really cool! Good job
Very cool idea and nicely done ai. I really enjoyed playing it!
Hey Starspell!
The "UnsupportedClassVersionError" seems to occur, when an application is compiled for a later jre version, than your currently installed one. You can check your version by typing "java -version" in the cmd.
If your version is lower than 1.7 (it will print >>java version "1.x...<< where x is lower than 7) you may want to get an update or tell me your version, so I can recompile the game, to support lower versions.
If your version actually is 1.7, all I've written is complete bulls**t. In that case I would be thankful for a short information.
Thank you for reporting the issue!
Greetings,
StMatn
Hey youdonotexist!
I have absolutely no idea about mac-compatibility of java-programms. The 5 minute web-investigation told me, that mac supports jre 1.6, so I will recompile and reupload it in a minute.
Would be cool, if you could tell me if the windows-version works for you, when the recompiled version is up.
Greetings,
StMatn
@Mac users: please try the current version again. Eclipse was a bit misunderstanding so I believed I compiled the game for Java6, when it actually was compiled for Java7.
@Jiddo: The items initially should have purpose (locked doors were planned), but I quickly realized that time was short, so the implementation never happend. Currently they are just for decoration.
@youdonotexist: Thank you very much! Your last post was very helpful and it let me hunt down the problem. Like you can see in the first lines, it was a version incompatibility. I changed the global compilation settings, but did not notice, that my project had individual compilation settings activated. So, many thanks for your detailed report. I hope the game wont disappoint you after all effort you put in helping me :)
Thank you for all this astonishingly positive comments! Feels great to read all this lines :)
@DaGamesta: Thank you very much for the compliments. I dont know exactly the ending, but the wikipedia-article clearly says, that the ending of Dr.Suess' story isn't the same as ours. The jar-name "spoils" the fact that the grinch actually has a major role in the story, but there also is this mysterious other one. The intro shows a master and a minion ;) You may want to check out the instant-win-cheat, described in my journal :)
@sclark39: I'm sorry, the game does not start for you :( If you would post some information on your OS, Java-Version and supposed you start is from console/terminal an error-message. Unfortunately I haven't got many possibilities for testing different systems, but if you report a problem, I promise, I'll do my best to try to solve it. For the problem to solve, I just need some information, where to start the bug-hunt ;)
@dj_pale: The star-poles represent a level, each. Just click on them to enter. Yellow stars are unlocked levels, grey ones are locked. You unlock a level by winning the previous one. Start in the USA. To win a level, "just" collect all presents and go to the exit-zone(indicated by little signs with "exit" on them). A check mark right next to the slots in the present-count-bar will indicate, that the exit is open. Win the last level to see who the mysterious master in the armchair is.
P.S. I very much like the smiley you posted :D Could it be kind of a reference to something? :P
@AdricZero: I'm sorry, that the game won't start for you. If you could provide some information on your java-version and things youve tried to get it to work, i'd like to help figuring out the problem.
@KevinWorkman: Thank you for trying our game! The idea about places to hide actually was part of the development-plan, but got kicked out because of lack of time (real life, mostly sleeping and eating, took too much time ;) ).
Also thank you for the offer about your website. I definetly will have a look at it, when I get some spare time :)
@tripleVisionGames & @RawBits: I'm very sorry for those glitches. We finished the game just in time, so we didn't have any time to give it any polish. The hearts and other items initially schould have purpose, but there was no time to implement those features. Thank you very much for playing :)
Wow, so simplistic appearance, yet so much fun... I found myself restarting until I got "Very very brutish" rating :D Really cool game!
Wow, I nearly ragequit several times. Finally, it was great to win :D I liked the ideas, the neat graphics and the nice sounds. Very good entry!
Cool game. Reminded me of Lemmings and TIM. Nice mixture of both. A handful more levels would have been nice, since I sensed the upcoming addiction a bit ;)
Cool game. Reminded me of Lemmings and TIM. Nice mixture of both. A handful more levels would have been nice, since I sensed the upcoming addiction a bit ;) Would be good, if the dead goat-frames had something like wings, to indicate, that they are flying to heaven.
Cool game! Shortcut keys for buildings and creatures would have been cool, but anyway I liked it.
Nice idea. The code-stage with the K is really confusing. Would be cool if you could post a hint, how to solve it. I'd really like to play a bit further on.
The idea is so epic... I'd like to play the finished game so much. Graphics look amazing!
The concept is really cool. Unfortunately it was possible to overwhelm the hero kind of quickly, by sending ~20 monsters at him (or her).
Don't get angry on people complaining about the magical health refill. To be honest, I didn't read the instructions and was wondering about the health, too. Well, someone who ever player a RPG should be able to figure out, that the hero may use potions, but some kind of visual indication (no text! maybe particle effect) would be really great.
I like the random maze-generation. Throw in some fancy graphics, a bit more actions for the player to use and this could get a really great game. For 20 hours, I consider this as good work.
The game wont start for me. It tells me, that it failed to load and says, that files seem corrupted.
I've extracted the folder inside the archive and launched the "valkyrie ld.exe". Do I need any frameworks or runtime-environments to play it?
Nice game! A little story would be cool, but 48 hours is very little time to acomplish what you have done AND come up with storytelling. Good job ;)
Very cool idea :D I'd really like to play this with some more levels! Maybe it would be fun to let the player spam attacks and decrease the number of invaders each level. Nice work!
Good start. Really sad, you didn't finish. The graphics are pretty nice.
Nice game. I liked the idea. Hotkey for faster switching of attack-modes would have been great.
Nice entry! Was a bit frustrating, that the line of sight was a little unclear, but the game was fun anyway.
Nice game. Hotkeys would make gameplay more comfortable, but besides that, your game really is well implemented.
Nice idea. Controlls were a bit annoying, but the concept was good.
Nice game! The grappling hook was really cool! A handful of harder levels would have been nice, but besides that, good entry.
Excellent game! I enjoyed playing it and had to replay it some times, because one time definitely was not enougt! Good job.
The music was pretty cool. Spamming basic towers went surprisingly well, until the applet crashed. It was fun to play, good work.
This is so amazing. At first I was skeptic, when the game told me to stomp flowers, but I felt so damn evil kicking the sandcastles. Maybe that was because of the cool hat. Being evil like a sir :D
Cool idea! The teleporting-feature is really great. Those passages where you had to constantly teleport or teleport to a one tile big gap were a bit annoying, but generally its a very nice game.
Very cool character names^^ Bonus points for 2 times 7 ;) Was fun and pretty hard, but a dash of randomnes would be great (you can win the first 4 rounds with the same sequence of moves).
I'm a bit disapointed, that I was a lame boss without a second or even third form :P just kidding, nice work.
Great game! The graphics look quite nice and the idea is amazing. Good work!
Good job!
Nice particle effects.
I really missed moving sideways with A and D.
Knowing ones health would be good.
Nice game. I really like the concept. It was a bit hard at first, but lots of fun. The music gets a bit repetitive after a wile though...
Nice idea. I like the graphical style of the player-pigment. The music is quite nice too
Nice game! The audio was really cool. The game is beaten a bit too quick, but its fun anyway. Good job!
Cool concept. The mixing colores were a good idea. Well the whole idea about 5 second abilities is nice. I really enjoyed playing the game.
Nice idea. I quite like the soundeffects :) Good job!
Great idea! I didn't manage to win, but its really cool anyway. Nice job.
Very cool game! I relly enjoyed playing it.
I would say its kind of courageous to make an adverture for LD since adventures can be frustrating, if you get stuck.
The storytelling was great. I liked the kind of mindbending twist in it. I'm strugling a bit in understanding the end. SPOILER WARNING: Is the last decision meant as the decision between the zone or living in a house with your wife?
Are the graphics made of photographs? They look really great. Sound supports the mood very well.
Only thing I would change the yellow/pink messageboxes to b/w. I had the feeling, they were a bit out of the graphical theme, but thats just my opinion.
All in all really great job!
Nice idea! The fading numbers were a bit strange. A higher framerate would have made the controls a lot easier. Gute Arbeit! Bonus auf Humor für leckere "deutsche" Schokolade :P
Awesome game! Some music would have made it perfect :) The mechanics are great
Very interesting mechanics, but very learning-intensive. I hope you can make this into a full game and slowly introduce new elements to the player. Very good work so far!
Cool game! Nice audio and idea.
I encounterd a moment, where one triangle was outside the playfield (on the right), so I had to wait a moment, before I was able to collect it. Its not tragic, but could be a bit frustrating if a triangle would fly right next to the edge for a long time.
I was thinking "Upgrade my magnet radius", but the controls were good for me, so didn't have great problems. Well a magnet would have kind of broken the game, because you would end it too quickly.
The RGB idea was cool, but you should either put some green in the upper part of the image or create more levels, because the green seemed to have no effect until I got to the bottom of the playfield.
Nice game! Preety good executed top down shooter. It was fun, but I missed the option to move sideways with A and D. It seem, that sometimes enemys can glitch through thin walls, if they push each other.
I really hat a lot of fun playing the game. Good work!
Nice game! The shadows are pretty and the explosion look really cool! I like the simplicity of the concept. Good job!
Cool idea. At first I thought it was one of those games, where you arrange all the shapes in a rectangle. The scoring-mechanic is very interesting and gives the game a nice touch. The UI was a bit confusing for me, since I needed a moment, until I understood, that you have to click the "score" button. All in all great job!
Nice game! The window was a bit too large for my 15'-display, so I had to make guesses on things in the bottom line ;) Some more levels would have been nice, since it was quite fun to play :) Good job
The credits page is cool :D Some more levels would have been nice :)
Top score for theme ;) Nice to see, what you have acomplished on that resolution. Its actually a little time-consuming to get started, since you need to know how the game works. That is kind of risky for ludum dare, but I like your game. Great work!
This idea is so awesome...
Its always kind of a rush to become big enough at the beginning of each level, but its really fun. Describing the entry as a "n-body simulation" pleases the nerd in me, but since it should be a game you could consider describing it as playing a particle, who wants to become a planet :P Oh boy, my fantasy is really animated by your game :D I really enjoyed playing it ^^
Cool game. I liked the level where you play 2 balls simultaneously. Music was a bit repetitive and some levels were a bit cpu-intensive and therefore running slow.
Great work!
P.S. I was a bit confused, which download to use. I rated "Windows(Jam)". Hope this is right :|
Great job! The shootout minigame was a bit unforgiving, but challenging as well. Music wass pretty cool;)
Cool game! I like the mechanics and the music is quite nice :) Good job!
The cursor graphic is a very good point. Thank you very much for testing the game ^^
Thx for playing and those nice words.
I think keyboard controls could break the control-experience of a fan, but on the other side, maybe more crisp controls would be more fun.
The game was written in Java without any gameengine. If you are interested in the source or program-architecture, I can write some lines about it.
Thank you everyone for playing and commenting!
Level 8 is really hard, yes... I even have problems myself, although I'm pretty accustomed to the controls. Dont give up, every level has been tested and therefor is possible. I hope nobody ragequits after touching the spike right before the last camp :-/
Thank you very much :)
Thx ^^
@gameXcore: I'm sorry the last level is too hard. Letting family and friends play the game has also shown, that level 8 my be a bit too hard. If you are interested in the ending, you may want to look into the "res/gfx/mov/" folder ;)
@hgouveia: Thats a good point. I should have made the intro and story sequences skipable. I hope that didn't influence your experience too much.
@loxo: Its very sad to read about those issues. I'm sorry, the game doesnt work correctly on your machine. Unfortunately I don't have easy access to a mac, so shooting down those bugs will be hard for me. I'll try to figure out how to solve those issues. Hopefully they don't break the whole experience. Its a very shitty fix, but if you are interested in [playing with] the music, you can find it under "res/snd/msc/music1.wav" and play it with your standard audio player :|
@loxo: I nearly forgot it: Thank you very much, for reporting the issue! If you have a second left for me, does it give you any output, if you start it through the console?
Thank you all so much... We really appreciate those comments.
Very good suggestions. Thank you :)
Thx for playing. I think level 8 really is way too hard... The collision-issues happen, because I've writen pixelperfect collision versus a circle, so if there is a pixel, that isn't pitch black, it is considered a wall. Besides that, collision isnt checkt versus the balloon image, but versus a perfect circle, so everything, that sticks over (especially the car of the balloon) is able to slide into the walls. Sorry for that :( We'll try to fix this soon...
Thank you very much! I'm happy, the nerdieness makes some people laugh ^^
@HuavaaKoodia and alle those poeple, who want to make their own levels: If you want, I can add a "Play custom level"-option, so you don't need to replace the original levels. If you are interested, just leave a comment, mentioning it.
@kddekadenz: That may be caused by Java 6, but it's strange, the jar did start, because usually it doesn't do anything, but just prints out an error message to the cmd...
Very cute mole ^^ The mechanics are really fun. Great job!
Pretty nice game! I really like the character-animation!
What a masterpiece! You urgently need to extend this into a full game, maybe on mobile! Really great job.
Wow, nice entry. The graphics are really great and the music is nice too. I like the attachment-mechanic^^ Great game!
Awesome! Maybe its just me, but I find it hard as f**k to capture the flay, but hey, thats how games were back in the days, righ? ^^ Really nice game!
Nice game. Its a good idea making the canons use energy. In most rts-games towers/units have a magically infinite ammo-source:D
Cool game. The ongoing level is a cool mechanic for an arcade game. Great job!
Very cool game! I really like the concept, though, the "LD26" kind of breaks the game. The problem is, that its too easy, to build a fairly decent army of blue cells, just moving left/right on it. Try considering, stopping the points from reapearing or give them a longer timeout.
Nice game. I liked the whole appearance, since it reminds me a bit of the abstract graphical style of minecraft. Some more content would be nice. Does the door which doesn't lead you to freedom put vou in an infinite loop?
All in all nice work!
Cool graphics! I like the old-scool crt-style of it. Theme is relized quite nicely :)
Great game. Those zombies are really terrifying. I nearly shit my pants, when they have shown me the small print ;) Is it a good or bad sign, that I couldn't stop playing until I got the crown of epic nerdiness? ;) Nice job!
Nice game! I really like the graphics style. The game is fun, but what is the "MAJ-button"? Great work.
Nice game! It definitely is hard, but thats part of the fun. I like it a lot.
Nice game. I like those bustling littel people. Reminds me a little bit of "The settlers". Nice simutatin. Good job!
Very interesting concept. I really like the visuals. The game was a bit slow for me (gameplay, not fps), but maybe its inteded to be slow paced, or I was doing something wrong. All in all cool game!
Nice mechanics. It was a bit of a pain to get the last pixels, becaus the game started to run extremely slow from one moment to the other. I had just 1/4 stripe left, so I dont think its about the drawing. It seemed so start bugging out, as the music stopped. Maybe restarting the audio-track caused the problems. However, I liked it. Good entry!
Nice game.
The bulletstorms were fun, but fighting the turrets wasn't the best idea in general. It was easier to just storm past them. The multiple doors seemed to have the task to hinder progress a bit, but sometimes you could smash one and hide behind the second half of it.
The ending was nice^^
Cool game! It actually was fun to play. Good work.
Really awesome game! To be honest, I hate the fact, that trash needs to be brougt out as much as in real life ;)
On the computer-screen there should be a link, that tells, when the narwhal does bacon :P
Nice skill-game. The mechanic was simple, but it fit very well. At first I thought, the background music was annoying until I realized, it were the squares, triggering the sounds, which is a very cool idea.
I needed a moment to understand the controlls, but then it was quite fun. Unfortunately the playersprite disapeared sometimes, which made the game unplayable. The graphics were amazing!
Cool idea!
For one day of work it looks really nice. I like the dynamic feel of the levels. Graphics also look quite nice.
Nice game! I like the reference on the starting message :D
The game was quite nice. I had the feeling, enemys/obstacles were a bit too fast, or the gun wasn't powerful enough. I like the parallax scrolling on the background.
Nice platformer. I like the sound and the music. The mechanics with the colores were nicely done. Great work!
Its relaxing, yes, but I also think, that some gamemechanic would have been good. It looks quite nice though.
Nice game! Coop was a very cool idea. The sound is awesome, it reminds me of the old-school 8-bit-games.
Wow, this is really amazing! Even the main menu looked amazing. The mood is so great... If you woud have put some random sounds in, I would have shit myself. A masterpiece...
Cool concept! I liked the energy-restriction- and wall-slide-mechanics a lot. Some levels were really hard, but thats cool. I can swear I could hear some levels say "You just startet this level? F*** you, you're dead already!" They were fun anyway :D The potato at the end looked a bit like...you know...meh, forget it... What I didn't like was the menu. If you don't let the user choose the level, don't make him have to click on the number. That mechanic is good, if you make past levels replayable. All in all awesome game!
P.S.: Levels with lots of objects have made my machine drop some tears ;)
Neat idea! The falling speed was a little annoying, but the game was fun anyway. Good job!
I instantly thought about the cherno. Looks nice though, so keep working on it. The framerate is a bit low on my i5/gForce540M and mouse-controls are extremely sensitive or broken. I hope you extent this into a proper game. Nice work so far.
Epic game! It was a really cool experience to play it. The audio is really great and sets the mood very well. The gameplay was really relaxing. Only thing I can criticize, that the soundeffect for the wind should fade out, when bumping into the levelborder, instead of abruptly stopping. Awesome job!
Great game! Nice story and good gameplay. The graphics look really nice! Good job!
Nice game. The teleporting mechanic is really cool. I think it would be cool if the spiders died after a few hits. A more rapid shooting mechanic would also be nice. All in all cool game!
Very cool steering mechanic! The fast moving screen made it a bit hard to control, though. When the ball gaind enormous momentum, it was pure luck, where it would land. The music was really cool. Good job!
Nise simple concept. At first I hated a bit, because i thought it was complete luck to get the right domino to match my dominoes, until I notoced, that the top dominoe represented the endings of the (invisible) chain. It would be nice, if you could decide to which side to attach when there are multiple ways (When the domino at the top is the same, as the one, you want to place).
Nice work! You may want to set the windob to be not resizable ;) Anyway... The concept is really cool, but since the bullets speed is determined by the distance, the clicked position hat to the center, you can exploit this, by setting up a (nearly) static circle of bullets and just camp inside it. You can solve this, by letting bullets die or give them a constant speed. Very nice work for 16 hours :)
Very cool idea! The shaking screen was a bit annoying. I think the timer deosn't serve any purpose... Maybe try providing 2 gamemodes: "Relaxing", with your nicely random generated paintings, but with no timer and "challenge" with prebuild paintings and a timer, so users can compare their times an a fair basis. All in all nice game :)
I liked playing your game! It reminds me of the good old "fly the copter". With a procedurally generated level and sone sfx your entry could even be as much fun as this classical coffebreak-timewaster. Nice work!
Nice game! The balls on level 2 can push you over the walls, so I accidentially broke the game by getting pushed over the outer wall in the first corner, with a ball in. Putting the textaventure in was an awesome idea and I loled right at the start, because of the mario-reference^^ Good job.
Weird, but cool game. I really had fun playing, although, I needed the walkthrough, to complete the game. Good work!
:D Very cool idea! Indeed minimalistic ^^ he screen, that showed you your work was cool. It took me a while to realize, that moving the cursor also moved the conveyor. Good work!
Very nice idea and well executed. The randomly appearing shape-changers were a bit strange. I really like the graphics. The ending was a bit too easy to get to. Some more levels would have been nice, since the frantic shooting was fun ^^
The graphics are quite nice. I enjoyed playing the game very much. I think the levels would be a bit more interesting, if they were more "2-dimensional", since they seem to be a single chain of objects. Although very nice entry!
The idea is cool. If you would have an enemy it would be more fun. The enemy could be a virus, that infects nodes and drains your resources. It could spread to nearby cells and therefor threaten your home.
Cool game, but a few more levels would have been nice, since its fun to play. A unpausing-key, which is closer to x (e.g. spacebar) would also have been nice. All in all, its a nice game.
Cool game! The concept is really interesting, though I couldn't figure it out on my own. It was fun to play, but the breathing soundeffect was a little annoying after a while. Great job!
My main problem with this is, that "Mandelbrot" means as much as "Almondbread" in german, so I always get hungry seeing those fractals... I like the ongoing rendering. Makes for some nice effects :)
On my machine it was running too slow. I had pretty much the same framerate as Beanalby. Is it a problem with dependencies on frameworks/programs or is a Intel i5 + gForce 540M just not enough?
Cool entry! The chasing mechanic was fun and very addicting. The pacman-level was really hard, so I couldn't beat it, but the reference made me smile ;) Top score for theme!
I like the idea and the mechanics of making things more complex ^^ at some points you could snipe the enemys down, however they looked pretty terrifying, when they were near you. A crosshair would have helped a lot with aiming. All in all its a cool game.
The game looks promising. I'm looking forwoard to the post-compo-version.
Very nice fighting system! I like the graphics. The caracters look really nice.
Awesome game! I really liked the sheep and its cute artworks! The sound was setting the mood nicely.
Since I like exploring the boundings of levels, I found the (hardly visible) invisible wall on the volcano level a bit strange. A instant-death-lavaflow may have been an alternative, but thats not such a problem. Sometimes it was a little bit hard to tell if a tile was back- or foreground. The ending was a bit abrupt. I would have liked to play a bit more, since I really enjoyed playing your game.
I actually got a smile on my face, when I saw the sheep in its nice little shoes :) Great job!
Very cool game! It's already addicting, but after a short period of time it got a little bit boring. Some goals would make this even better. Great job!
Cool citybuilder! I like the day/night cycle very much! Nice job!
Very cool idea! The graphics look really nice and its fun to play. Very innovative mechanics. Nice game!
Great game! It kind of reminds me of lemmings ^^ Gameplay, sfx and music are great. Awesome work!
A bit slow paced gameplay and small window, but very nice game! The fighting is fun.
Great game!
One thing that would have been great would have been direct movement control in midair. With that I mean, that the character would keep on moving only, while a direction is kept pressed. But thats no big deal ;)
The graphics style is quite nice! I really liked the "lighting" effect of the background, when in a cave :)
The story is nice and the music fits really well.
Great work! :)
Nice game!
The music and graphics are really cool.
I really like the look and animation of the treasure hunter :)
After the second level I thought "Well...I got 60 gold and have 20 seconds left. I will lose my money anyway, so... lets chill and just wait for the next level." Then the game tells me, my score is 200 and I instantly regret my lazyness :D
Great game!
Cute idea and nice turn on the theme!
I like the graphics!
Nice game!
Its a bit hard to control, but thats ok. As a mobile version this would be great, but it would need some sort quick to achieve goal.
Pretty funny, how the greedy kids are knocked out mercylessly :D
Great work :)
The graphics look really nice! Audio is fitting too.
The gameplay is not really mine, because fast typing is hard for me, if its not myself phrasing the text/words. Well, no minus points for that!
Nice work! :)
This is a cool game!
There is one thing you might want to fix: after loosing, the simulation should stop, bacause you can keep shooting monsters that pile up in the red zone, if you make sure, you can reach your harpoon.
Besides that the game is really fun. The monsters looks quite terrifying in the first moment^^ I like the graphics!
Great work!
Awesome intro!
It is possible to be stuck in walls after going to another screen. At two points I think the game frozw, after trying to leave the screen (1. from start: ulurrU [2nd screenshot] and 2. from start uluruulL[smashed the stone and went left])
Pretty decent game though!
Nice work :)
Cool game!
Feels a lot like wario ware :)
For the eating-game multi directional control would have been helpful!
The timelimits are hard, but challenging. Besides that, the audio and graphics are really nice.
Great game!
Pretty challenging, especially when too many bulies enter the screen. The bossfight was fun as well. I really like the idea, that you must protect your present ^^
Graphics are quite nice as well.
Good work!
This game is great!
I really like the idea! To be honest, though I am studying math, I wouldn't dare to submit a math game :D The reason is, that I wasn't in the mood to twist my brain aroung level 4. My knowledge about problem complexity told me not to begin the try-and-error-procedure :D On the other hand, hint #9 reignited my ambition and I figured out the rest of that level and the last one. I would suggest, that you should add a very simple level between 3 and 4, that teaches the player, that he does not need to use all the blackboards. That may prevent some frustration on level 4... or it will show more of the complexity :D
Besides that, I like the protagonist! The game was really fun after I brought myself to do the mental work ;)
Great work! Keep it on :)
Nice game!
I lost the overview after some time :D The "radar" is quite nice, if you are looking for an enemy, but its hard to localize the most dangerous threat.
All in all, nice work :)
Neat idea!
It would be cool, if it was a bit more "gamy" ;) I hope I didn't miss anything, but some sort of score system or even a restart option would have been nice.
I believe the idea has potential, so maybe keep working on it ;)
This makes me want to start a snowball fight :D
Cool and well executed idea. I love the wiggling of the scarfs!
The sound sets the mood very well.
Thumbs up!
Great game!
The idea is fantastic :D The graphics and sound are awesome too. Very old school :)
Nice work, keep it on!
Nice game!
The art and music are really great :)
Nice work
Nice game!
Great graphics and soundtrack! I like the idea, that your money is also your life ;)
Good work, keep it on :)
P.S.: You may want to redirect the "rate this game" button, so that it leads to this page instead of your profile ;)
The idea is really great!
I would love to see this with a faster timer. I'd rather see some power or pixels wasted, than waiting so long for something to happen.
Turning parts would also be nice since you need some luck to get a working combination.
I'm sorry if I didn't get something, that would change the experience :-[
I'd love to see a post compo version of this, since the mechanics are really cool!
Keep on your good work! :)
P.S. worked fine for me on Win7 ;)
Nice work!
This game has shown me, why I never event want to think about stock market :D After seeing my naked gred, I needed to stop :P
A goal would have been nice. Maybe you could have only one year to make your only one dollar into enough money to buy that only one massive diamond ring for your only one girl;)
Thank you all very much!
To be honest, I planned two more worlds and some comics telling a story, but you know, it was the usual routine:
1. plan game
2. think about how awesome your idea is
3. repeat
4. work a bit
5. realize, time is running really fast
6. panic a bit
7. lower quality standards
8. cur something out of your idea
9. submit 5 minutes before deadline
But hey, I really appreciate your critics. Thanks again!
Thanks for the comments!
Oops, forgot to kill the escape key :-[ sorry for that
If the boss is toot hard, I could put in a cheat to weaken him :) Please just tell me, if you want to see this, since acievements are only gettable by winning the game.
Not, that you mentioned it, I realized, that I didn't explain the whole spacedentist thing :D
I'll put an explanation and a link into the description.
Well yes, the trees are actually placeholders I have thrown in for testing, but did not have time to make nice :D
Thanks for the feedback.
The reported freezing at the boss is really strange. The screen actually locks onto the boss "arena" as soon as the bossfight starts, but the game should keep on playing... Keep in mind, that the boss is.. well... isn't animated :-[
If anyone could tell me if anything is printed to the console when the game freezes, that would be really helpful :)
Thanks for playing!
Educational? :D
@Venks:
Don't worry, he's a professionals. That is why they always say "Don't try dental treatment with lasers at home, kids" ;)
Thank you guys so much for the kind words!
I really appreciate that :)
:D Thats actually the way its meant to be played ;)
Thx for playing!
Thank you very much for playing!
I really appreciate any feedback, especially critical thoughts, that tell me, what I could have done better. Thx for that :)
Thank you guys for the feedback!
I'm thinking about some games, that will use this engine and take the terrain destruction more into focus. Thank you for telling me that there still are people who just want to watch the world burn ;)
Well, in this game it is not possible to use another weapot than the laser. If you are really interested, I'd suggest, you look at the link mentioned in the description. It's another game from me, that uses a very similar engine and also features the spacedentist. In that game, you repair giant teeth and you can use the other two... I prefer to call them tools ;)
Thanks for playing!
Yes, I haven't put much restriction on spawn-behaviour... I also sometimes had a similar situation, like the one, that you explained, but there were 3 more shrimps (thanks for the new name. shrimps are cooler than hornets:D) behind the first 3 ;) extremely hard, but possible.
These situations are very bad for the speedrun achievement, since the timelimit is extremely tight (2 minutes; its possible without upgrades, but especialy dmg+ is recomended).
I really like, that you pointed out, that everyone gets some kind of a personal experience from the game. That sums up procedural generation quite well in my point of view :D
Watch out, you must not shoot the boss if his mouth is closed!
If you do it anyway, he will burst out massive waves of bullets! It is indeed hart to stay alive, once he spits out such a wave, so take some time and do is save and steady. Wait until he opens his mouth, then you have around ~2 seconds to attack. Stop attacking before he closes his mouth!
@sandbaydev: yeeeah... honestly, I'm so sorry for the f***ing lasersound, but I wastrying to make one for ~1h and got really annoyed of it, because I wanted an ongoing sound, that was less annoying. The problem is, that lasers normally don't do much sound im real life and all previous choices drove me mad already, so I settled on this masterpiece :D sorry again for any eardamage and annoyance ;)
@postmodestie: Thank you so much! That comment is really cheering :) You seem to have at least a little bit of fun, what makes me happy.
@Jezzamon: Well, after replaying it some days after LD I thought the same. You can blaze through the level with a bit of luck, but the stalacmites(/-tites) in the underground areas are really annoying. However, with a bit of practice it's possible to get the 2 minute medal ;) For the next mission I will upgrade the SpaceDentist's jetpack acceleration :)
Thank you very much for playing, everyone! :)
Nice idea!
I like the changing targer idea. Shooting is a bit tricky, because of the perspective. You could make shooting easier by placing reference lines on the ground. Of courst something fitting (maybe put the light behind the gunman and use the shadow as a guidance).
It took me way too long to get the connection between the title and the odd (no pun intended!) look of the gunman :D
Nice work!
Awesome game! :D
I really like the old sckool flair of it.
The story is nice, but the game could have been a bit longer, since it was quite fun to play, but hey, for a jam-game the length is ok.
Great work! :)
Nice game!
The mood was really nice on this and the "shocking" music felt great :D
Good work!
Awesome work!
TIL the actual name of google translator is O.N.E. :P
I really like the handdrawn graphics. My final score was -1, but it was really fun anyway :D
That was pretty funny :D
I like the art style :)
Cool game!
The idea is great, graphics are fitting and the audio is nice. One thing I noticed is, that there is not very much challenge. The colorful graphics look like the game would be very actionpacked, but the gameplay is quite relaxed.
All in all great work! :)
Nice idea!
Once I realized, you can stand in the left corner and have enough time to shoot the bots, I made it. Then I was to make my choice, but couldn't move... That made me discover the secret ending O.O Starting over, i realized, the game did not loose keyboard focus, but I was trying to move with WASD :D
I had fun anyway ;)
Is the endboss able to kill you? he seemed to just push me around.
This is really great!
The shadows work really great and set a nice mood. The bossfight could be a bit harder in my opinion, but it doesn't hurt the experience.
It was a bit hard to keep the enemies away, while reading the story, but it was really fun to play through.
Great work!
Quite nice game!
The lighting looks great!
The 4th room had a bit of an issue on the framerate while the two guards were alive.
All in all pretty good work! :)
Nice game!
The graphics look really nice!
Good work :)
Nice game!
Its quite challenging to hit space in the right moment, but the movement patterns are predictable, what is good for the gameplay.
Good work :)
Nice idea and well executed!
I like the graphics-style :)
Great work!
Awesome idea!
It would be nice, if you had added some kind of "tutorial", where the player could train to "do the fist right" :D Though I was able to punch (sorry, for the pun) my score over 3000, the fist recognition didn't work perfectly for me. At some points a shadow behind me was recogniced for a little moment, while my fist was ignored sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to badmouth the game in any way! I'm impressed, that the recognition works up to that degree, it does at the moment! Respect for that :)
Great work!
Great game!
I have some small things to point out:
The end room could be a little bit more epic; something like the room on your primary screenshot ("KERNEL" written with lasers).
After finishing the game bugged out a bit and placed the characters outside of the level, but thats nothing for a downvote, since it happened after finishing a perfectly stable game!
The colored walls at the end were a bit iritating... Especially the red ones looked like "don't touch me, or you are dead!". A more consistent style in wall coloring would be nice. Either completely white or completely colored, since both look great, but you know, the break in it may be a bit iritating to players ;)
Last thing is the controlls. I have a bit of practice in jetpack-like controlls ;) but they do not work perfectly with gameplay, which requires priceise movements. To be honest, after the secont checkpoint I wished so hard to have a button to make the disk make a full stop and not leave the laser, while I was trying to maneuver the other character ;)
Don't make too much out of my critics, because players always complain and devs always try to break it ;)
Besides that points, the graphics look really great! The game is really fun, because its sometimes a little tricky, but checkpoints are placed in a way, that prevent frustration and turn it into challenge! Great!
I really had fun playing the game!
Keep on the nice work!
Nice idea!
The movement, especially the camera rotation speed, is a bit too sensitive for me.
The soundtrack is quite nice :)
Good work :)
Cool game!
After the double giant green monster the game had some slowdown at the beginning of the next two waves, but thats no big deal.
The graphics and music were quite nice.
Nice work :)
Nice game!
The booster spawn behaviour is quite challenging :)
Good work :)
Nice game :D
It really was a bit weird :D
Very nice concept :)
The graphics are nice and the music is quite fitting.
Good work!
Short but amusing game!
The graphics look quite cool! It would have been great, if the game had some more puzzles and a longer storyline, but thats ok for a jam-game :)
Great work, keep it on :)
Nice graphics style ^^
The music is quite fitting :)
Nice work!
Nice game!
I really like the loony look of sante :D
The jumping needed a bit of practice, but thats ok.
Nice work :)
Very nice idea!
Strangyly I won by doing almost nothing, because all my competitors ran bankrupt :D Then I tried to destroy earth, but ran bankrupt trying to do so :D
All in all this is a nice game! Good work! :)
Great game!
The music is really cool!
One thing, that needs to be said is, that we need more levels on this! :) Its really fun!
Good work! Keep it on :)
Awesome graphics! This kind of makes me keeping my addiction :P
Great game!
I believe, that you yould sort the levels a bit differently, because I had the feeling, that the dificulty was swinging up and down a little.
Besides that, the graphics look great and the music is nice too.
Nice work, keep it on :)
Pretty nice game!
I dont really like the idea, that the maze may be impossible, but I know, what it means to write a procedural level generator, that respects certain restrictions, so no minus point for that ;)
Gameplay feels quite solid and the theme is realized nicely.
Great work!
Your idea is really great and the gameplay is fun. I really like the cheesy jokes :D It took me way too much time (~10s) to get the bug-joke...
I really tried hard to beat the game and I'm sorry to say that but level 13 finally made me quit :( Please don't be offended, but the collisiondetection is a pain... The first one was quite funny, but the last one was enough for me: http://imgur.com/Hp6ymGR.png
Nice game!
The graphics look really nice.
The game is quite hard, but hey that makes it challenging!
Some small points I noticed:
- Standing up from crouching should be instantly, like the crouching, because it's quite hard to shot, when in cover.
- The assault gun would be cooler, if it was full-auto.
- Moving around could be a bit more crisp ;)
Is the level procedurally generated? It looks really nice. Besides that, the money avalanch you get, when killing an enemy is really satisfying :D
Cute game :)
The second screen looked really great, but the sticking feature was a bit confusing. Maybe I did something wrong, but when moving, sometimes I was unable to jump so I landed in the spikes on the 3rd screen way too many times :D
All in all nice work! :)
Great game!
The bullettime-effect looks great and I like, that you can steer the bulle a little bit, while it is flying. Gets a bit repetitive after the 14th level :D
Good work!
Nice idea! I like the graphics and the music.
After winning, I realized, there was a help screen :D I think it is quite intuitive, though.
Some more options and a longer duration would have been nice.
Cool game ;)
Nice idea.
The game looks quite nice and the music is cool. You could have made attack radii more forgiving (greater for player, smaller for enemies), since it was really hard to kill an enemy.
All in all nice work :)
The game is fun as it is, since it is quite hard too keep the egg, but you might want to double check the hitboxes and eggdropping mechanics, since it feels a little bit frustrating instead of challenging. I would think about either fixing the eggs x-coordinate to the player or give the player more movement options, to make it easier to recatch the egg.
Besides that, the graphics are quite simple, but really awesome! They fit really wel in my opinion :)
This game is great!
The graphics look awesome and the mood is set really good!
It is fun to play, but you are so cruel, not telling us, if there is a ending, where you survive...
Great work! :)
Really difficult, but challenging. I thought "Lol, this car drove right past me" then I saw the game over screen :D
The upgrades could be a little bit cheaper, to see progress faster.
All in all nice work
Nice lemmings clone, but a bit hard to controll and resource-hungry.
Besides that, nice work! :)
Cool game!
The mixture of 2D and 3D is really awesome! The parts where the game would set a "trap" weren't nice... It is ok, if a game lures you somewhere to just kill you, but you should be able to get some hints, that it would be a dumb idea to get that <whatever>. If you think "Ooooh...well, I could have seen this", traps are ok ;)
Besides that, the graphics look really nice. I like the beauty in the simplicity of the main character :)
Great work!
Funny game collection :)
I laughed at the one second game :D
The graphics are quite nice in all the games!
Nice work!
Great game!
At first I thought the game would be unfinished, because I have beaten level 1 after ~10 times collecting both gems :D
I really like the multiple tools you get.
Keep on the good work!
Wow, some questions made me think a moment. Especially the last one ;)
The mood was quite nice. One thing that would have been really great, would be some visuals for the endings. The voiceacting is great, but some graphics would have made it even more awesome.
All in all great work! Keep it on :)
Nice game!
It would have been nice, if the beam of your weapon would also hit enemies. That would have made targeting easier.
The graphics look quite nice. I especially liked the death-animation of the blue capped mushrooom. The pollen look nice :)
All in all great work! :)
Awesome game!
Its really tough, though ;)
The graphics style is really cool. I would call that "retro at its best";)
Great work!
Nice game!
The ending was funny :D
It was quite hard sometimes, to hit the moving enemies, but once I got used to it, it was ok. The turrets can be shot from a save distance, but you probably know that already ;)
Good work! :)
Awesome game!
There seems to be some bug with the lives (maybe just the number shown) if you restart after loosing.
Nice graphics, nice sound, nice story, so:
Great work!
Pretty cool game!
I had fun playing, though I always died gathering parts, because enemies spawned right in my face :(
Besides that, I like the frankenstein gameplay :D
Good work.
P.S.: +1 for the pun in the title :P
Great work!
I really like the idea, that your princes choice slightly affects the game :)
The game looks quite nice and finished. Thumbs up for that!
Nice idea and good execution.
I like the graphics!
The setting is quite sad, but thats ok. I think the game will make people think about how hard lift can be for people in the 3rd world!
Nice work!
The graphics and sound are really great, but controlls need a bit of practice.
The unforgiving one hit rule is ok for me, but it kind of breaks the experience if an enemy spawns right in front of you and shoots a bullet in your face :(
Its a bit strange, that rooms spawn in the air, but the procedural levels are really cool!
Great work!
Awesome game!
The idea is great and well executed.
The game is fun to play and I like the particle efects!
It's quite hard to win, since it feels like it would be a matter of luck, once you dropped the bomb, but thats ok.
Great work, keep it on :)
I like the navigation method :)
Well done!
Really challenging :)
Controlls are really responsive, which makes it very controllable. A variable jumpheight may have been usefull.
Reminds me somehow a little bit of super meat boy.
Thumbs up for the toaster :D
Nice idea.
Some sort of explanation, how to be successful would be helpful ;)
Great idea!
A mobile version would be nice, since it seems, this would be a nice filler for short breaks.
The graphics are nice so far, but some more eyecandy would be cool. Maybe you could show some pics of the disasters you prevent (or not) ;)
Keep on the good work!
Nice game!
Reminded me a bit of tripe town :) The is a bug, when you launch more than one weapon: the screen turns white and the program seems to stop operating. Played in firefox.
Besides that, the graphics look nice and the game plays quite solid.
Good work! :)
Really challenging game. The graphics look great!
Treepunching ftw! :D
Wow, awesome experience!
This is best player with closed eyes. This kind of lets me think about, how blind people are experiencing the world.
Really great work!
Nice game, but it would have been great, if you had to do multiple decisions during one playthrough.
The graphics look quite cool!
Nice work :)
Cool idea!
It would be great, if you mentioned, that animals die after a time. I was always spamming woodcutters to cut down many trees, let them get killed by animals, wait till animals are dead, spam builders, let them get killed, wait for animals to die...
Then it ended with filing the houses with poeple who soon would also die :(
Is there a way to maintain a more or less stable world?
Ala in all pretty nice and well executed strategy game. Maybe farmers would be good in this;)
Nice game!
Please take a look at the highscore table! The deathcounter does not reset, wher you play again after submiting your score! That made my last run the worst, while it would be the best :( Well, I wont pull the rating down for that ;)
In my first playthrough I have spent quite some time in the seaurchin labyrinth. Therefor I found the background extremely iritating after some time. I began to see only a combination of sharp and blurry rings... Maybe a slower playback of the animation and/or some variation would help with that.
Besides that, I really enjoyed the game! The graphics are nice (when you don't stare at the BG too long;)) and the sound is quite fitting. The gameplay was a bit tricky at first, because the controlsheme needs a little bit of practice, but afterwards its challenging and fun.
Great work! Keep it on :)
Wow, this is so awesome...
The idea is epic and the game is well executed.
Definetly one of the best games I've seen.
Reminds me a bit of McPixel, but I don't know why...
Great work!
Nice concept and well executed.
Unfortunately I have the feeling, that it's a bit of a luck game.
All in all nicely done :)
Cool game!
I loughed at the ending :D
Nice graohics and fitting sound.
Good work!
Nice game!
I noticed some points:
- If you skip the startsequence you have ~5 miles extra
- Asteroids flying right through the camera block sight for a moment that is suficient to make you fail
- Maybe it was luck, but after ~10 attempts where my ship got destroyed I started shooting right after the start and won with the timer at 48.2 miles, so it works out quicker, to exploit your luck (1 honest attempt = 10-20 snapshots at the beginning) you may want to prevent the user from doing this, because it breaks the challenge and therefor the experience
Besides that, if you play the game honestly the way its meant to be played, it's really fun! The ship looks really great and controls not to direct, but not too spongy either, it's just right :) The skipability of the startsequence helps the game a lot to be challenging instead of frustrating!
Really great work :)
Nice game!
The graphics look nice and the music is really fitting and setting the mood :)
Great work!
This game is great!
The graphics look awesome and the sound fits really good.
Gameplay of course reminds of harvest moon. I loved that game, but it took ages to take care of the whole acre. Here we have only a hand full of cultivatable fields and a time limit, which I really appreciate :D I would have spent way too much more time on your game if it would have let me, so thank you for limiting play time ;)
Awesome work!
Very interesting experience!
I don't know if this was intended, but the abstractnes gives you much room for imagination. Some times I was thinking something silly like "Hey you! Be my friend, BE MY FRIEND!" and other times "Why do you run away from me?". Very philosophic...
Thumbs up!
Nice idea!
The second weapon was the most fun, since one time it did a MASSIVE combo up to the point, where on an impact all bullets were reset and creatad 3/4 of a circle :D I think a higher (unlimited) bullet capacity would have been nice.
Great work!
Wow! Great game!
I first watched the gameplay video and thought this would be way too hard, but I got 193 on my first playthrough :)
The graphics and sound are really fitting and the control couldnt be better in my opinion.
I would love to see a mobile version of this. It would be a really great game for short breaks.
Awesome work!
Awesome game!
There are some broken parts on the second level, but that is not that big of a problem ;)
I like how you implemented the stealth aspects into the concert setting :)
The graphics are really nice looking, since I like the old school style ^^
Great work! Keep that on :)
Cool idea!
The music is quite nice and I like the jumping animation^^
Level 4 is too hard for me. Please don't be offended, but moving platforms, that don't move you while standing on it are really cruel...
Thumbs up, for using pure Java :)
In the pause menu you have written "Leertaste" instead of "space" ;) Ansonsten super Arbeit :)
Aw, too bad there aren't more levels... The idea and setting are so cool...
It would be so great, if you could add some more levels for a post compo version!
Graphics are really nice and the sound is fitting.
Great work so far!
Thats a nice game!
The movement is a bit quirky and the game could use some kind of story/goal, but the graphics are nice and the questions are funny ;)
Nice work!
Nice game!
I like the running animation:D
Now I need a cigarette :P
Great work!
The graphics are really great on this.
I'm sorry, you didn't have more time to work on this, since it lokks great and is fun at this point, but some more content would be nice.
Keep on the good work! :)
Very interesting concept!
For some reason I couldn't ust the ship sometimes and hab to restart.
Maybe some explanation on planetcreation would have helped. The selection of items also hindered personalization. I think it would be nice, if you could somewhat "identify" with your own planet.
Besides that, the exploration aspect was great.
Nice work!
Very nice game!
The slow movement and especially the slow jumping/falling were really awkward. The jumpmechanic nearly made me ragequit while trying to get past a demon cow...
There are some minor bugs with cow-collision and jumping (you can jump mid-air after walking off a platform), but all in all its a great entry!
Very nice idea and really cute character models.
A little tutorial or at least explanation would have been great ;) maybe I missed something, but the replanting ability of the girl didn't seem to have any real purpose. Any form of health-indication would have been great for the soldier.
All in all great idea!
Very cool game!
At first I was a bit skeptical about a roundbased citybuilder, but I tried it anyway and was positively amazed. On my second try I managed to win, but the game is quite challenging and - in my opinion - very well balanced.
Great work!
Thx for commenting :) Thats very cheering.
@Boberro: To be honest, my first idea was to directly have this on mobile, since touch-controls would be way better than mouse. You know... I also believe that ideas are worthless and execution is everythons, so ripping the idea would be... I would have to accept it :D Let me know if you do so, since I made this, because I wanted to play that game ;)
@tmpxyz: I know, the description is annoyingly long. I hate to read walls-of-text myself, so I give you the short version: the theme didn't make it into the game, because I had not enough time for an intro. The basic idea behind the story would be, that the underworld has been connected to the overworld. Your task is to defend the overworld.
Yery nice game!
Had to play again after winning, because it feels quite nice to command those huge clusters of ships :)
I liked to zoom quite a bit out to have some overview, which made the station health unreadable, but thats no huge down point.
I can't tell you why, but I found the "OK" on the win screen quite funny :D
Very solid entry!
Very cool game.
Some AI oponents would have really helped getting more fun out of this ;)
The graphics look really great and I kind of like the 8-direction-sprites :) I noticed, that it was a little bit unpleasant to look an your kart while moving, becase it had this "jumpy" movement. Smoothing and syncing it with the camera would be nice.
Great entry!
Nice game!
Its a bit annoying, that you have to refresh the page if you fail in the tutorial. The concept is nice and well executed.
The soundeffects are a little terrifying sometimes, but the audio is very nice in general.
Great work!
Crashed for me too with the binaries on Win7.
Hope you can fix it since the screenshots look great.
Nice job!
I don't know why, but the graphics look a bit minecrafty ;)
Jumping felt a little awkward. Try implementing an acceleration model, at least for the vertical speed.
I like the kind of anti-climax at the end :D
Nice work!
Nice idea!
To be honest, I didn't understand the mechanics, so I did just try-and-error, until I had a profitable route and just let the game run in background. A more dynamic economy-system would have been great.
I had two planets really close to each other and realized, that you can have multiple ships. That lead to an exploitation of that extreme short route with all ships. From there it was a matter of seconds until the universe was mine ;)
Maybe you could let the player decide which trade to make and give the planets a minimum distance to maintain.
All in all great work!
Great game!
I really like the idea and the humor put in the parts :D I mean, who wouldnt atach bombs and tree logs to an emergency spaceship?
The controls were quite challenging. Especialy the abrupt turn on direction change.
Part placement could be improved a little, by preventing part overlapping.
Sorry for being pedantic, but is there a loose condition? After miraculously winning on the first atempt I left the game run on its own, while typing this comment and the sole basic chassis is currently at -1600% height ;)
All in all very cool idea and quite solid execution!
P.S.: Are the buttons area-specific? English text would have been better for this contest ;)
overlapping parts placement
Nice idea.
Please put some info in your description, which version to rate. I rated 1.1, because 1.0 seemed to have no gameplay.
Keeping the spacebar presed constantly raised my score and I got an "ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsExcepion: -1" at TerrainLoader.java at line 54, after letting a robot through (Loose screen apeared nevertheless).
Keep it up!
Great concept!
I noticed, that you may want to rethink the wall-jump implementation, since it seems, that the ceiling counts as a wall, so you can kind of "stick" to the ceiling, if you reach it once and then spam the jump key.
I can't tell you why, but when the game switched into the second phase, I had dramatic drops in framerate.
Besides that, the game is really nice!
Greak work.
@Rehacked
:D Very slick reaction!
There are no bugs in games, but only misinterpreted features :P
Please have a bonus star: *
Good luck on the final rating :)
Very cool idea!
Some levels were really hard, but very fun to play.
Great entry!
Nice game, but really hard.
To be honest I was too frustrated to continue, after I hardly arrived at a planed and was instantly slaughtered afer leaving the ship ten times in a row.
I only once managed to survive more that 10 seconds on another planet.
Well besides that the concept is really interesting.
Nice work!
Very hard game, but nice concept!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to win. Maybe you could put and easy mode in ;)
Great work!
Very nice game!
The idea with the magnifying glass is really awesome!
The game would be even more awesome, if you could find a way to procedurally generate levels or provide more than one level. That would give it more replayability value, which would be great, since gameplay is really fun!
The physics could be improved a little bit, since the truck can sometimes drive on its side and made a huge jump one time, when i hit a wall ;)
It would be great, if you made the "flip jeep" button more visible. When the truck was unmovable one time, I got pretty mad, when I noticed the button after reloading the game-page (played the web version) :D Well, in fact thats not your fault, I just didn't scroll down to look for such a button. Maybe you can make any profit out of this info ;)
The graphics look very nice and the music is really fitting. That made the game even more enjoyable!
Great work!
Aw, sad to hear that :( I'll check the bug.
Thanks for reporting the issue!
Nice game!
The graphics look quite nice!
One thing I didn't really like was, that the minigun didn't indicate the loading state, so I had no idea, when it needed a reload.
The idea, that weapon offers appeared on the playfield was really cool, but displaying the stats near the offer would be good, since you don't have the time to look to the border of the screen in the middle of a fight, because you need to kep track of the enemies ;)
The soundeffects were well chosen, but the music could have been more...I'd say "action-packed". The calm music was pleasuring to listen to, but it didn't put you in the action game state ;)
All in all awesome work!
It was really fun to play.
My time was 2:53
Great game!
The controls are really a bit fiddly, since you have full inertia in midair, but make a full stop when you touch the ground. The platform collision also is improvagle, when touching edges.
The graphics look really nice. I really like pixelart, so the environment was really pleasuring to watch. The slow revelation of the map also is realy satisfying. The Music and audio were fitting und really fun to listen to.
Awesome job!
Nice game!
I really liked all the animations!
One thing I didn't really like was, that the explosions of your own shots did detonate your other shots. In the worst case, when firing rapidly, you would damage yourself and not a single enemy, because of this.
All in all really great game!
Unfortunately i was unable to start the game. The description looks awesome, so I was a bit disapointed, that the game didn't start for me :(
I'm running Windown 7 Professional 64bit
Hope the error message is of value: http://i.imgur.com/zb7ZqTn.png
Thank you very much for contacting me back :)
The game said my OpelGL implementation wasn't supported. Since you said, it could be an issue with the graphics card, I tried to force th use of my nVidia card (internal intel processor was standard) and it finally started :)
The game is really cool! I wasn't disapointed at all. The graphics look really nice. The screen image for porn is nice :P The sounds are really fitting at all.
If I had to criticise a thing, I would say, that the game gets a little repetitive after some time. Maybe a fixed amount of rounds or a harder loosing condition would fix that.
All in all it's a really great game!
Nice work!
P.S.:
My scores were 429 on scare and 323 delighted :)
Awesome work!
The graphics look really great!
Collision detection could be a bit better.
I had a small bug, where the rear of my animal would disapear, when dashing and the front arm was displayed in front of the obstacles (rear: zebra; front:gorilla)
The audio sets the mood really well.
Some explanation on the mechanics of earning party would have been nice. On my 2nd try I was disapointed, that I wasn't able to use the just earned tucan part. On the 3rd try I asked myself, why the game didn't give me the gorilla rear. Then I noticed, that you don't always get the game over screen and understood, that you use up the given parts and loose the game if you are missing a front or rear part.
All in all really great work!
Nice game!
The music is really great! The Sfx were a bit too loud, compared to the music volume.
Gameplay is nice, but you could improve the hitbox for getting hit by zombies, because sometimes it looked, like I shouldn't be touched. I didn't get, when the shotgun was in rapid fire mode. Some visual indication for this would be nice.
All in all great game!
P.S.: My high score was 132 :)
Nice concept!
For some reason I wasn't able to get it running smoothly. The first few buildings were always built, but after a short time the workers seemed to stop building. I tried to keep wood up with trees, but the workers just didn't want to build. Maybe I didn't get something right :D
The sounds are nice, but the music gets a little depressing after some time. I didn't mute it, because it was quite fitting, but it is nice, that you provided proper adjustment methods for the sound.
The game is definetely on the right track! Nice work!
Nice game!
I would argue, that you dont need to add any difficulty. Thats absolutely irrelevant in idle games. The idea is, that you click some stuff and let the game run in background, then come back get rewarded for clicking stuff; repeat. In my opinion your game does quite a good job at delivering this (emotional) reward.
A thing to criticise is the audio. While it sets a relaxed mood, its get a bit annoying because of the repetitiveness. While the OS settings do the job, a mute/volume adjust button/slider would be nice here.
I noticed a minor bug: you can buy the plain recipe multiple times, which can even get you in dept.
For an unknown reason I was unable to buy anything after some time on my first try. Maybe its related to the first bug.
The donuts look really delicious :) Nice graphics work there. Its quite satisfying to watch them roll out of the machine :D
All in all nice entry! Keep up the good work :)
Really cute game!
The enemies look really nice. Especially the penguins :)
The palallax scrolling isn't very noticable, but looks really great on the open snow plains! The mountains move a bit jerky, but its a very nice detail.
The sound is really fitting and relaxing. However, I would have chosen a more action packed music, since its an action game.
All in all great work!
Nice game!
I really like the circuit board theme!
Some kind of explanation or tutorial would have been nice.
Organizing the buttons into groups and increasing the "visability" of the resources would improve the usability.
The graphics look really nice. The particle effects on the copper wires are a really nice detail :)
Great work!
Awesome game!
The duck call was really great :D
The game did bug out for me after some time. It seemed santas mom kept calling all the time and I had all the previous answering options but no geeting aviable. Draging the windows around was a bit unasthetically, because it didnt move smoothly.
All in all awesome work!
I didn't give give you a rating, since I didn't get the game to start. The program starts, responds to keypresses from keyboard, but I dont get a player to control, even with connected gamepad (logitech rumblepad 2). Maybe I didn't get something right or my pad is not supported, so I absolutely do not blame you ;) I'll check back here, if i remember.
From the screenshots the game looks really awesome and the other coments sound really promising!
Nice game!
The graphics look awesome and the soundeffects are quite fitting. The music is great and sets the mood really well.
At the beginning I didn't really get what to do, but after getting warm with the game it was really enjoyable.
If the crystal... is the last item, I didn't find the second last item...
Nevertheless, awesome work!
Nice game!
I really like finding the crafting recipes.
To be honest, I don't really see the point in the "drag the view window around" mechanic. I found it quite tedious to draw the view around, before you can combine items from defferent areas. It looks cool that way, no question, but I think it would be cooler, if the view would simply expand, when you unlock a new area.
I played until I unlocked the third area and had really much fun, but stopped, because only the top two rows of the third area were visable to me (the third one was below the bottom border of my screen) and I wasn't able to figure out, how to move the whole gamewindow around. It would be nice, if the game would start centered on screen, or in the top left corner.
The audio was great! The music has set the mood really well, and the sfx were nicely fitting.
All in all great work!
Awesome game! One of my favorites :)
The gfx look nice, especialy the win-animation. The sounds are fitting and have some kind of "eastern"/japanese sound :)
It was a nice experience to play the game!
Very fun game. It was a bit hard to figure out the controls, but after that in was a nice experience!
Nice work :)
Its a nice base for a game!
I would recomend not scaling the star-bg, since starmaps are more of less fractals and even on a high zoom you should see some stars in the bg ;)
Also the slowing down of the movement is a bit annoying, since it doesn't make gameplay more interesting (e.g. running away harder) but only slows progress down.
A progress bar for the planet stages would maybe make people not quit that quickly. Atm there is no indication if you could discover new stages (I quit on a quite huge earth, because I thought that was it, but was not that sure...).
Maybe you could make something happen on the plantet, e.g. life evolving, what is affected by the elements you collect.
All in all nice work! I hope you make a bigger game out of it :)
This is so nice of you! Very cute idea :) It really made me smile.
The gfx look very nice and the music gives a very christmassy feel. The line-smoothing-mechanics are great! Some more options, like an eraser and coloring, would have been nice ;)
I'm surprised, that there is only one controversal drawing on the tree... I would have expected lots of dick-drawings. Its quite risky to let people draw anonymously on the web ;)
Whatsoever... Thank you very much for this heartwarming entry and the smile it gave me :)
Awesome work!
I love the pixelart graphics, they look really nice! The music is really fiting and sets the mood really good.
Unfortunately I died on the third day of hunger. If you start without any explanation and need to figure out what to do by yourself, time gets really short (I could only harvest one single wheat, before I died). The enemies are a nice addition!
Well done!
This game is so great!
Great visuals, audio und gameplay! I really enjoyed playing it.
The temple on the ending is quite hard to see. A bit more contrast would be nice there. The snake looks really cute on the "plop"-frame :)
Unfortunetely I died on the menu after completing the game... is the easteregg the (WARNING! THIS MAY BE A SPOILER!) "san** mo**"? After dying it didn't display in any more. Did I miss anything? :(
One thing that I noticed was, that it would be nice, if the time-switches would look differently from the normal ones (especialy the 3rd one on the last level ;)
This is definetly one of my favorites this time!
Thank you all for your feedback and the nice words :)
The lack of audio is the thing, that annoys me the most, but time was a bit short on the end-phase...
A way to speed up regrowth would be in fact a really useful addition. Thx for the suggestion!
I wanted to work against boredom by trying to make diverse levels. The first one acts as a kind of "tutorial". I put very much thought on nearly every aspect of it. On levels 2 and 3 you should try to not delete shroomy on any of the two paths and on the last two levels you should try to not burn up. Maybe thats not enough...
Thx everyone :)
@all:
Thx for your feedback! :)
@oparisy:
I'm using plain java. If I start a new (game-) project, I copy a (evolving) base of around 100-200 lines of code (very rough estimation by gut feeling - may be a bit more). For comparison: Shroomy has a total number of 1921 lines of code. This code base could be considered a "framework", but it only opens up a blank window and sets up basic input methods and a clockgenerator, that executes a blank method (="main method") with a fixed rate. (All of it is written by myself) So basically I write a whole engine for each project. It seems a bit overkill, but I love the resulting filesizes and the ability to track down bugs to single lines of code and to quickly identify performance-bottlenecks ;)
If you are interested, I can provide the shroomy-code and/or my "framework". But be warned, that during LD I always stop writing clean code on the like the last day, when panic and pressure kick in :D I love to read nicely written code, but when time is constrained, functionality and code aesthetics often are in conflict...
Thy guys :)
Thank you all very much :) It's nice to read those kind words, but I would love to hear of aspects, I need to improve on (from the view of players) ;)
The game looks really beautiful right now. On the win64-version it lookes a bit like the enemies would throw up on you :D I realized it was claw-attacks on the html5 version ;)
There seems to be some kind of problem with the sound, because both, webplayer and win64 didn't play any sound for me (absolutely no peak in audio settings), while the html5 version did.
The visuals are really beautiful and gameplay is quite crisp, while a goal would have been nice.
All in all great work!
Nice game!
Idk if its an exploit, but you can simply hold one hand above your head and "throw" food into your mouth, by simply "clicking" the hand above the head. The other hand kann stay on the light generator/conveyor button ;)
Very nice work there!
I really like your game! I love playing with gravity, so this was really great! The gfx look quite nice ;)
Maybe you should consider not using the shift key, so that windows users don't get the sticky keys message when rapidly hitting shift (to precisely adjust power) ;)
The game definitely is one of my favorites! :)
Nice came :)
I like the gfx and audio very much!
It would have been nice to have an indication of the area, where button presses will affect food, because sometimes you press a button before the food can be eaten/discarded, what may disturb the flow.
The other thing is, that keyboard input would have been nice. Especially on later levels you don't have the time to move your eyes all over the screen to aim for the buttons, click it and move your eye back to the front of the conveyor belt. It would help, it you wouldn't have to take your eyes off the conveyor belt at all ;)
All in all nice work!
Very nice take on football/pinball :)
Its quite hard, but if it was easy, it would be called football :P Once you get into the controls, its really fun.
The sounds were really great!
It seems to be quite resource intensive, since it was stuttering real hard, when my laptop was on bettery mode.
Great work!
I scored 5630 points :)
Very cute game!
The graphics are great and the audio is very fitting!
Its a bit tricky to turn, when moving at the edge of the playfield. I wanted to turn 180° by rapidly hitting a turn key, but bumped into the wall and was a bit irritated for a little moment.
Would it be possible to ship the game without installer? I don't really like to install LD games, since most of them dont stay on my computer for too long and its a bit awkward to install and uninstall games. I personly like to unzip an archive, toss the game folder on to my desktop, play the game and delete the folder afterwards. The process sround playing the game is very quick that way. But thats just a personal opinion, which I do not involve into the game rating! ;)
Very fun game. I liked how santa was riding the presents :'D
The block engine looks really nice!
The wall right in front on level 5 was a bit frustrating, because you loose ~3 lives before realizing what to do. That feels a bit unfair ;)
Unfortunately the program crashed on level 7, while sliding off the bottom left edge, while on a present and direction set to bottom right: http://imgur.com/8ArI3VP
Hope this helps ;)
All in all nice work!
I like this very much!
The gameplay is quite satisfying, once you get used to it.
Some random critique:
-I think there are more crops than needed, since I didnt use the ones in the range of 12-10$ at all and most of the other ones only once or twice
-Upgrading mechanic is great, it gives lots of strategic potential
-I think the time constraint is quite generic. I would have likes a relaxed endless game mode. (Maybe additional)
The game reminded me a lot of harvest moon, but I like your controlscheme more! I think this has quite some potential :)
Great work!
The game is super awesome! I liked the story, audio is perfect, gfx are nice, great story and it has this half-life-feeling!
Well, I have some points to mention:
-Screenscrolling could be better. Sometimes it feels like the screen would run behind the player.
-Sorry to say that, but aiming is a pain! It seems, that your aiming-algorithm uses the position ~1/2 tiles to the right and bottom as the player-position. This gif might explain, what I mean: http://imgur.com/Jg0q7hU
-The thing that buggs me the most is the fact, that my firewall told me, that your game was trying to access the internet. Why is that? Is it some unity data collection, I (the player) am not informed about? This may be a bit exaggeratedly, but I get quite mad, seeing programs trying to make a call home without any good reason, especially, when that happens in bg ;)
You have created a really awosome game with minor flaws! This is one of my favorite games this LD! Nice! :)
Weired but cool experience!
It would help, if you would provide some explanation of how the game works, so the player doesn't need to guess too much. My first atempt brought me to winter, but with only 12 food. After somewhat realizing what was going on, I managed to collect 118 food on my second try ;)
Some absolute values for food and colony size would be nice, so that you don't need to rely purely on gut feeling.
Nice work!
I managed to collect 118 food :)
The game looks really gream, but I cant quite get it going smoothly. Maybe a tutorial would be helpful ;)
Also I didn't get, why you should be selecting a card and then need to click a button, positioned half across the screen. I would recommend to work UI over, but thats just a suggestion ;)
Gfx look very beautiful (especially the cards!) and the audio is very fitting.
All in all awesome work!
To the graphics card issues: The game seems to not be compatible with certain gfx cards. My basic Intel chip didn't want to play it, while my nVidia card had no problems at all.
Nice work!
The audio is quite nice and relaxing. I really like the pixelarts of your buildings and tiles :) Didn't quite figure out, how to get the city going well, but it was fun anyway!
I played the LD version (not post-compo).
Random thoughts and bugs:
-Tutorial: If you press backscape on the first message, you can't go forward again
-If you zoom out, the bg does not fill the screen. All special tiles like trees are drawn, but grass tiles are only draw in the central screen area.
-Tile selection glitches on wide zoom level (wrong tiles selected)
-An alternative tile selection mode would be nice for people without mousewheel ;)
-The drawalgorithm seems to draw last placed buildings last, so buildings placed behind existing buildings are drawn on top
-I didn't really figure out, how to get resources...
-An explanation of what building is selected would be nice. "Selected Tile: Tile" seems to be a bug.
-Explanations of building effects would also help (Additional to the money cost: Impacts on population, food, etc.)
@Flygamer101: I appreciate self-criticism, but you don't not to be so harsh to say your game is bad ;) It actually is quite impressive, what you accomplished, it is just a bit rough around the edges, waht is totally ok for a LD game
This was really fun :D
A little more explanation about the scoring zone would have been nice ;)
The levels could be a bit harder, since running perfectly make them beatable in a "single run". If this is a joke about the challenge of the model "job", please ignore that comment :'D
Nice work :)
Nice game! It feels really arcady :)
Tbh, I think the loose condition could be a lot more strictly! After some time I had enough, so I ran into a wall. With only the head left, it took about 10 seconds until I lost.
The graphics and sounds are really fitting and its fun to play, but its "too hard to loose" ;)
Great work!
P.S. I got 1823745 points ;)
The graphics look really nice. Its a bit strange, that you can grow trees on the ocean ;)
It would be nice, if you could add some gameplay, because the look is nice. Oh and I would suggest to stop the constant movement, since it makes "aiming" a bit difficult ;)
The game itself is pretty fun, but the main problem is, that timing and gamelogic aren't just decoupled, but completely separated. Because of that, the program executes less cycles during day/night, when the load gets heavier. Tham means, that vampires and visitors move less spaces and interact with fewer plants. After some time the game basically comes to a full stop, because either the customers cant reach plants to give you money or plants die off, bacause vampires cant reach them.
If you could fix that issue, the game would be really fun. In fact the first days (before "lag" kicks in) are really fun!
Nice work!
Nice game!
The concept is very interesting, but quite hard to get your head around.
I quit on the "survive for 60 s" level with the rapitly moving suns, because each time a huge fast suns did eat me :( 60s may be a bit long.
All in all great work!
Great work!
I thought it would be nice, if this had a grouping feature and if you were able to jump to the troops with the number keys. Then I realized, you have implemented both. Awesome! :)
Very cute game!
It looks really nice and the audio is fitting. I found it quite hard to aim the lightning and didn't understand, why it would want to make it rain. A little bit of explanation would have been nice.
All in all great work!
Very fun game :D I like the idea!
Aiming was a bit tricky.
Nice work!
Great work!
Gfx look nice and sounds are fitting :)
It would be nice, if humans/tanks wouldnt run through "buildings" in the bg.
The game feels really nice, because the tentacles move in nice patterns ;)
I got 225292 points.
P.S.: Awesome game title :D
Nice work!
It was really fun to play, but I don't quite get, why you would want to buy upgrades or plant carrots. Once things were going, I harvested my tomatoes with the harvester and replanted immediately. With >3:30 on the clock I sold 175 tomatoes for >2k and won. I only bought the stall upgrade once and none of the seeds upgrades.
You wrote, that you have no art experience, but I think the gfx look quite decent ;)
I really liked playing your game. Good job!
The game looks quite fun from the screenshots. Unfortunately its not really playable... When I hit play, it says "defeat" and then starts a new game. Sometimes the oponent doesn't do anything, sometimes it tells me I've won without a visible reason and sometimes the screen stays blank.
Btw. the game doesn't scale if I scale the website in my browser (Firefox 42.0, Win 7).
I hope that you will be able to fix the bugs. I'll keep an eye on this site, to retry and give proper feedback :)
Unfortunately still unplayable on chrome and firefox :(
Nice game!
Gets a bit repetitive after some time, but the graphics look quite nice ;)
I think this was really great!
The win xp gfx reminded me a bit of "emily is away" ;)
The ited, that you explore stories through a context menu is really great, but it has one major flaw: it closes, once the cursor leaves a menu. It made me rage quit, after accidentially closin a really long chain :D
The sound system is awesome! It sets the mood extremely well. It's a bit tediuos to read lots of text, but here I had the feeling of going on a real journey starting on the desktop and extending into interesting worlds. The soundsystem helps imagining this worlds quite well!
Well done, great work :)
I loved playing this! Its very fun, but in my eyes it has two substantial problems:
-Its quite hard to get the factory running in the beginning
-When you have 7 spawners, a monster goes through the portal on each step, so the game is basically over ;)
I think it would be even more fun, if you would add more factory components and maybe a smooth moving system. All in all great work so far!
Thats a nice game! It was very fun to play, but the controls sometimes bug out. Sometimes I wasn't able to move. I think it was after I was hit. The gfx look really nice and the audio is really fitting.
Nice work!
Nice game!
The viral video was fun ;)
Nice game. The graphics look great and the sound is quite fitting. I had a hard time to get started, but when I got how to play is was really fun. Well, it was fun for some time, because the game has one major flaw! The yellow color is way(!) overpowered. I stopped playing with 12500 points, because it was no longer fun to jump into the pit at the bottom with loads of the small crawlers and mow through them. First it was fun, but basically you can't get killed, because you get healed so fast, that the enemies can't hurt you at all.
Despite that, this is a very fun game! great work!
Awesome work!
I like the graphics and the audio is really great! Its hard as f*** to win, but that only makes it more satisfying.
Only critique I have is, that most of the form arent really needed. I only really used the dragon(?) and the jellyfish.
All in all very nice work :)
Nice entry!
The stretching/shrinking felt great, but unfortunately the speed-aspect worked against it. Maybe you could add bullettime-events, where the player would have to take specific shapes.
All in all great work
Nice work. The audio gets a quite repetitive after some time, but the gameplay is nice. The increasing speed feels good. I like your take on the theme :)
Nice game.
Tbh idk if I like the graphics... I think the art is beautiful, but the effects with the tiling makes it hard to predict, where to land. Please don't take this to serious, because it's a question of personal taste, but from a programmers perspective it looks a bit like a messed up tiling algorithm. After rereading the description I corrected my ratings upward, but at first glance I was a bit confused.
The gameplay is really nice! Some spots are hard to pass, but I like that. Also I like, that you get more abilities as you progress :)
Nice work!
Nice work!
The visuals are really great and the audio fits very nicely.
Tbh I had a hard time to play the game. At first I couldn't click the buttons in fullscreen mode (Windows version, Win7 64Bit). Then it feels great to shoot with a mech, but it's weird, that you can't move while shooting. The controls of the fighter jet are really hard, but that could be just for me.
I don't really like, that the enemy is undefeatable, while I'd say it would be ok, if he had a ton oh hp and would respawn after being defeated. I think defeating him would give the player a nice feeling of success, even if he would come back immediately (maybe after a huge explosion ;)
All in all great work!
nice idea :P
its really well executed. the controls feel a little bit clunky, but the visuals and sound are really nice. I like, that the robots pile up in the front :D
great work
I totally agree with @sbeif. The music is great and the models look nice.
The main think you should improve is gameplay. In general I like games, where you set the starting conditions and just watch the action happen, but during the first rounds I picked parts, I liked optically, after that I tried to get the crew stat as low as possible to get it as high as possible during simulation. I got 0 (in setup) resp. 98 (in combat) and at that point the game unfortunately turned into waiting until the random number generator would produce the 0/98 setup so my win-streak would end.
Please don't get me wrong, I don't want to rip your game into peaces, I just want to explain the weak point, so that you can improve ;) Some degrees of randomness would greatly improve gameplay. Either by letting the user interact or give the mechs more complex behaviours. Target should be, that it would not be possible for the player to work out and select THE PERFECT setup.
I hope you can get some useful info out of that.
Tbh, I kept a tab open to your account, since I saw your first post! The updates have shown, how much love you put in the project. Thats really great ;)
I really like the art style!
I was a little child, when I had my first cassettes and didn't have many, but the game really made me remember some moments of that time! Thx for that :)
Wow, I am really impressed by the graphics engine! It looks really nice to me.
It would be nice to be able to demolish buildings. After my first playthrough I wanted to squeeze in as many farms as possible and ended up with 2 or 3 pyramid workers, because there was no more room for houses.
Bugs:
-After you win the game, you are transported back to the credits. I assumed, that you could start a new game, but clicking shows the old game state with the workers cheering (maybe this isn't a bug at all :D )
-I maximized the game, won, closed it, startet again and it started maximized the second time. It also didn't resize back down (not an issue, but may be interesting in some way)
Everything refers to the windows version.
Nice work!
It was a bit awkward, that events like jumping and attacking are triggered on releasing its key. That made these moves feel really strange until I noticed said behaviour.
The powerups are a nice addition and I like the running animation ;)
I really liked playing this. It took me a moment to understand the map, but then it was really fun. Well, some ending mesage woud have been nice, after you slay the dragon. I actually would like to play more of this :)
Nice game! I really like the graphics style :)
On the first level i got the parachute and decided to play around with it, died in the lava pit to the right and after the game restartet, I suddenly hat two characters, while only one was controllable. The game seems to count them both as your main char, because picking up the parachute gave it to both of them. Hope this helps ;)
It is quite difficult, but fun to play!
+1 for java :P
This is really great!
The graphics and audio are awesome! Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the third ending. A hint would be nice ;)
@Four Quarters
Thx :D the third ending was a bit strange thou ;) Again, awesome work!
Nice little game :) I think mousecontrolls would make it more fun, but also harder
@IQAndreas
You probably know the (real world) marble maze games, you control by tilting the playfield. You could map the mouse position to to the x and y tilting angles of the playfield in sone reasonable way. Maybe capping the angles off, when mapping linearly or mapping by some kind of trigonometric aproach ;)
This game is so awesome!
I loved everything about it. The idea is great and nicely coupled with the backstory (the fact about how many punchcards were used to paint the mona lisa was funny ;).
The graphics are great and it controlls really good.
Nice game! I like the graphics and sounds. The bowling sound was really helpful, to understand the mechanics. At first I was confused, thet the fox would constantly run, but the sound made it obvious, that it is kind of a bowling game. Nice :)
This game is awesome! I really enjoyed playing it! Its very polished and the learning curve is exactly right. Its not too easy, but not too much of a challenge. The length is perfect for LD. While I like the graphics (especially the special effects), you could work on them, if you want to keep working on the game post LD. The sounds are very fitting. The music sets the mood just right and the sfx give the actions a nice sense of impact. One thing you may consider is making the attack action more important, since I charmed every enemy except the final boss ;) All in all really great work!
Nice idea! One of the moonies managed to glitch out of the window in the top right corner. The graphics look youte cute :)
Interesting idea. It was sometimes a bit strange, how the beer bounced at the top. Sometimes when you are unlucky, you throw a beer and another customer spawns right before the customer you wanted to serve and grabs the beer you just threw. In that case you often loose both customers, because the first one gets angry because he waited too long and the second one got a beer, he didn't want. It would be nice to solve this issue, but unfortunately I don't have an idea how it could be done. All in all nice work.
Nice game. Some thoughts on it:
-The graphics look qute nice
-The music sounds great
-The tapping mechanic is a bit flawed, because you can quite easily escape it, when you start tapping "s" rght when the window pops up. When you have a certain amount of coins and are not quick enough to close the window right when it pops up, you just don't need to try to tap, because it gets impossible at some point
All in all nice game :)
Nice concept! The controls are a bit hard, because the boxes feel like they are reacting very slowly. I managed to score 6 boxes :)
Very cute game :) once I got the canon, the delivery speed really ramped up. Well, that was the point, where it started to become real work, to deliver all remaining letters. Maybe you could add some upgrades for the late game. The car controls were a bit tedious, since you cant drive diagonally and need to stop, to turn a corner.
I really liked the sorting animation in the post office. Thats a nice detail :)
All in all great work!
Very nice game! The gameplay is simple but fun. The graphics look really nice and the sfx are very fitting. Unfortunately the game got stuck at one point, where I had a monser in the arena, but clicking it, didn't show the dice. Maybe I clicked too fast. All in all very fun game!
Oh no, I totally ballsed it up... Concentration wasn't at its best, when I submitted the game -.-
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. It should be fixed now.
Thanks @aa4z for pointing out the solution!
Thanks @profan and @GameQuester for your feedback! The points you mentioned are very true and were planned at some point, but scrapped due to the time limit... Its my classic LD-problem :D maybe I should learn to better adjust the scope to the time available.
Thank you @rockhoppergames and @shivur. Special thanks to @huvaakoodia for giving such detailed feedback! Its not very common to see such elaborated comments, but thats what keeps the learningprocess going and the comunity alive. Please keep on with it :)
Thx for the feedback @thorneto
I love the game! The graphics are great, the animations are really cute and the sounds are very fitting.
One thing, that would be nice, would be the ability to peek through doors, because it happend way to often, that I would go through the door and instantly loose, because a guard would be in front of it in that exact moment. Jumping lets you look on the floor above, but is quite inconvenient.
I like, how polished the game is.
It took me way too long to figure out, that it would be a good idea to dump the collected stuff in front of the exit. At first I thought, you would have to collect everything in one go :D Finally I collected 260kg in 155 seconds, resulting in 104 points. I hope I got everything. :)
All in all really awesome work!
I'm a bit confused about the game. I didn't really understand what th goal was. It plays quite good and the models are nice, but some explanation about what to do would be nice. It was strange, that the gameplay got weirder, as you captured more demons. However it was an interestign experience :)
Nice game, I enjoyed playing it. However, the second to last level was really frustrating :( It took me many restarts and I lost there on my first run. Its because of two reasons: Once you picked up too much loot, you are doomed to restart the whole level and the slippery physics of the loot. On that level, I accidentially pushed the golden object down. The physics are quite strange, because sometimes objects glitch through the floor, when too many collide, making the level unwinnable and when you run up a slope, jumping makes you fly really high in the air.
Well, I like the graphics. The perspective is really great. The music is really fitting and makes the game quite enjoyable. Nice work :)
@Snowdrama No need to apologise. Its good to make mistakes, because they show us the difference between our abilities and the possible abilities, we could have. Therefor they make it possible for us, to improve and learn. You shouldn't worry too much about that level, because the comments above show, that people finished the game, nonetheless. Just keep the mentioned aspects in mind, when you work on your next (LD-)game ;)
Awosome game! I really like programing games and have never seen a game, where you program taxis :) The graphcs look good and the game is fun to play. Only thing I didn't like is the forward comand, because I need to type it twice to appear in the textbox and therefore have to delete one of them most of the time. All in all great work!
Nice work! The afro duck was great :D The game was really fun to play. One thing, you could improve is the info-window. For me, it was hard to open it reliably and therefore it was a bit inconvenient to find the item sizes.
All in all great work!
Very nice game! The music is great, but the program crashed when it seemd, that the music track reached its end. It was a bit strange, that I couldn't move to the flower cottage directly, while there was a crear path. It would be nice, if you could make the movement radius visible, somehow. However I really had fun playing the game. Great work!
This game is so great :) The graphics look awesome. I love the doge ;) However, the game is not that easy, because the cats seem to like to fight often and the game didn't let me pick up new cats sometimes. The music sets the mood really nice. Awesome work!
Very interesting story :D I never thought that one would have to hide pizzas from his friends. I got 976 points :)
Nice entry :) I like, how the music gets faster and faster, but it is a bit monotonous. I think the game would really benefit from some randimly generated levels. All in all nice work!
Very fun idea :) The aiming was quite hard at first, but I always fired a hand full of presents to make sure at least one would hit the chimney. At the end I thought it would be fun to fill the sleigh with presents, which actually was qute fun, before I realized that wasting presents would cost points. So my final score was -5780 :D
Maybe you could make the sleigh go slower so the player has more time to aim. I think the speed makes you quite franticly fire bursts of presents to not completely miss one chimney.
All in all nice work
The graphics look great! The sound gets a bit monotonous after sone time, but it was fun to play nonetheless. However, I didn't really get, how to win or lose.
All in all great work!
Awesome game! I really like the idea. It reminds me a lot of robocraft. The graphics are ok and the sound is really nice. One thing you could impove is the amount of avilable upgrades. I userd only forward pointing canons, sails and cargo. Maybe you could add rudders, which affect the turning speed. After a slow round with lots of cargo I was able to mount a quite large array of canons, which allowed me to chew even though the large enemies.
Maybe it could be fun, if you could replay levels but they were harder to beat. You could make levels where lots of small ships come from all sides and levels where only a hand full large ships with canons are fighting you. I'm thinking of very fast paced start -> get destroyed -> rearrange ship -> start again.
All in all very fun game! My final score was 51785 :)
Interesting game :D The first level was a bit hard, because of the slippery controls. The second level gave me a massive wtf-moment :D At first I thought it was a trippy winning screen, but then I realized, it was a second level. Nice work
Nice game! The ads are really funny und I like the graphics in general. However, the music gets a bit repetitive after some time. The lootcrates were great ;) Nice work
:D this game was great. The artstyle reminded me a lot of stardew valley. Really beautiful. I don't think, that the scrolling was beneficial. Since the whole level fits on the screen, the scrolling makes it harder, to find the next spot of a cat starting to do make a mess.
The cats really started to become dicks closer to christmas and so the sanity-meter was a quite good representation of my personal sanity :D Great work!
I like the idea, that you get slower, when you pick up gold. The collision detection is a bit buggy, because I would always stick to the wall after jumping the its with the giant spikes. All in all nice work
Great game! The graphics are very beautiful. I reallly like the distortion effects. One thing you could improve is the controls, because the sliding when you stop holding a directional key makes it a bit hard to control. While its quite fun to drift around some corners, the slippery controls work against you in areas that are heavily distorted, because you can fall off really easy. However the audio is great and it was a fun experience alltogether :)
Nice entry :) The game is a bit slow at the start but gets fun, when more bugs are around. Maybe it was just the case for me, but the number of bugs seemed to jump up quite fast at one point. It would be nice, if it would ramp up a bit more smooth. All in all nice game
Hi @adrien-dittrick , you need to have Java 8 (JRE or JDK doesn't matter) or higher installed on your machine. Then you should be able to start by double-clicking the .jar.
If you verified your Java-installation, you might try to start it from the command prompt by running "java -jar TheAsocialNetwork.jar". Please post the error message, if it still doesn't start.
Nice game! It was fun, figuring out, what to do :)
It seems that generating ideas is the bottlenck. I don't know, if it fits the game/genre, but I would have liked some form of automation.
Fun game!
It would have been nice, if swapping the ingredients would be more convenient. Especially removing something could be done easier.
Awesome idea! Never thought that multiplayer doodle god would be so fun :D
The collection mechanic was really fun :) It was a bit annoying to loose stuff due to accidential collision with drills or to shoot another gun that you actually wanted to attach to you. However, coping with that makes actually the game fun. Great work!
I like the game very much. The grahics are very beautiful.
I tried to max the stats once I figured out, you could increase them. On my second run I went for full melnacholia and found myself stuck on the boss. Is this intended? I wansn't sure, if this meant that the melancholic reaction would render you stuck with the count forever.
Very fun programming game! The interface felt a bit clunky. I would have like regular text input like in [TIS-100](http://www.zachtronics.com/tis-100/) or [SHENZHEN I/O](http://www.zachtronics.com/shenzhen-io/).
@bootak It seemed quite intuitive to try keyboard input, so I think people should find that out quite quickly. What I mean is that the game doesn't react like I anticipated.
Example: I wanted to change *43* to *42*, so I navigated to the respective field, hit bacscape and typed *2*. What I expected: *43 -> 4 -> 42*. What happened: *43 -> _ -> 2*.
Same point goes for removing lines. I expected that hitting bacscape on an empty line would delete it, rather than (re)clearing the selected field.
I assume, that you store the program or al least the lines as arrays, that contain control symbols. It has the advantage of making syntax errors impossible. However, I think that typing plain text reflects the programmer-experiance a bit better. Well, in the end it wil boil down to a question of taste and habituation.
The Music was great. It kept me from quitting early, so I played until wave 12 :)
I like the different movement patterns of the enemies. The orange ones and the ones spiraling in were really challenging.
Nice game :)
It wasn't really clear to me, what effect bees and cows had. As mentioned above, the rain is quite powerful.
P.S.: On firefox it prints the following errors to consone and won't play: - [UnityCache] 'https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/html/1695933/nature_garden_0.4_web/Build/nature_garden_0.4_web.data.unityweb' successfully downloaded but not stored in the indexedDB cache due to the error: Error: indexedDB access denied - Invoking error handler due to SecurityError: The operation is insecure.
Great job! I like the idea, that you need to collect ship parts, before the actual game starts.
- Left/richt movement seemed kind of useless, since it seems best, to stay at the left screen side and shoot satellites from there. - I would have appreciated if, if the difficulty would rise over time, making it impossible to play indefininetely. I like it, when arcade games just become too hard at some point, instead of forcing me to decide, when to quit.
It wasn't really obvious what to do in the beginning and the amount of people made it quite hard to figure it out. However, once you get what to do, the game is really fun. Great work!
Nice game :) I like the idea of trading mechanics, but I did not realize at first that the planets would give you the resources for free. The artstyle is really beautiful and sound are fitting. Unfortunately I ran into the same bug that has already been described here, so my score does not count ;)
This is really amazing. I really like the artstyle, the sfx are perfect and the world is very interesting. Awesome job!
Thanks to everyone for your feedback.
Special thanks to @jason-woerner for the details. I'm at the same time happy that you retried 5 times and a bit embarrassed that I made you wase that much time for something that should actually be explained better. Your detailed feedback is really valuable. I did not think that much about sfx volume and screen size and din not realize that thes could be potential issues. It is nice to hear that you played until winning :)
The game looks and feels really nice! Reminds me of classic flash games for some reason :) Great work!
The game was really fun. At first I did not realise that you can turn the patterns. And I managed to beat the game on the first try, so it might be made a bit harder. All in all great game :)
This was a really relaxing experience :) Staying alive in survival mode seems quite hard. Maybe I do not get the biting mechanig completely. Awesome work!
Nice game! I like the graphics :) It seems quite important to plan theroutes through the forest ahead of time in order to not freeze to death and also not leave behind single sticks. I hab the feeling that you need to collect all the sticks. However I am not sureif the fire burns faster if it is bigger. That might be an interesting mechanic. It would demand to find a trede-off between building time for collecting wood and conserving already collected fuel. All in all good work!
That was quite a relaxing experience :)
When I first read that the tree needs two years to grow, my first thought was that you did not really follow the tipp that the game should be beatable in about 5 Minutes :D Adding the LD-Modes was a very good idea ;) When the tree is fully grown, the framerate significantly dropped for me. All in all nice work.
Nice game. I like the graphcs, but the game is not very hard. It would be nice, if the difficukty would increase over time. The enemies could for example have more and more hitpoints.
I got the following error twice in the following situation: * I had a basic tower placed * That basic tower was selected * I was in build wizard mode * Mouse over the basic tower * Right clicked mouse
Unbenannt.png
Nice little game. I like the graphics :) Battling ghosts seems pointless, since they seem to always cost more than they give. It also seemed that the light will not go out if you keep moving. Finally an end goal would be nice. All in all nice work :)
Nice little game. I like the graphics :) Battling ghosts seems pointless, since they seem to always cost more than they give. It also seemed that the light will not go out if you keep moving. Finally an end goal would be nice. All in all nice work :)
Your game looks really nicely crafted. The ambient sounds are atmosperic (especially the crackling ofthe fire) and the graphics look very nice.
Gameplay is fun for some time. Once you collect a hand full of upgrades you become a machine that blazes through the forest smashing down trees and hurling a metric ton of wood to the fire, which is fun at first. Since it feels like a positive feedback loop, you seem to get more and more powerful without a real goal. It yould have been nice, if the fire would increase the burn rate over time or you had something like a final tree to chop down.
All in all great work!
P.S.: Is the typo in the title screen of the german version a joke I do not get? (L**o**gerfeuer)
I like your game. The graphics look nice, sounds are fitting and gameplay feels good. On my first try I ran out of water pretty quickly, but on the second one I grew a nice plant :) I do not exactly why I wanted to explore the borders of playing field, but I did so and discovered the ground water. I think at that pint the game broke in some way, because I knew I could pretty much do what i want at that point without thinking about water conservation. I am not sure if it would be more fun if there was no ground water. It might be interesting to test that ;)
I really enjoyed playing the game. Well... most of it. The last level was really hard, but also satisfying to finish at last :) The floaty controls are a bit hard to master, but I am not sure if they should be changed or not. All in all great game!
I really liked your game :) I think after reading the instrucions it is not that hard to understand. The only thing that may be a little bit tricky are the mixing recipes, since the color codings are not completely obvious. I also think that the game is balanced pretty on point. It leaves enough room in the first level to explore and find the dispensers, but keeps you busy on later stages. Unfortunately the mixer kept bugging out which did not let me finish the fifth level. On my first playthrough it gave me fire after inserting only iron. However after that it would not accept anything at all. On My second playthrough the same kept happening, but I always inserted sulfur, before taking out the fire. Though, at one point I forgot that and took the only-iron-fire. I somehow managed to make the mixer work again, but at that point I had lost so much time that I could not keep up with the demand on mixed materials. Nonetheless, I like how you need to plan a bit ahead on the last stages :) All in all great work :)
I really liked that the events were not hardcoded but would change on different playthroughs. Nice work!
This is realy nice. It reminds me of Tasty Planet, which I like very much. The artstyle is great and at some point it has this satisfying point, where growth seems to accelerate. However, unfortunately this stops at the last stage. It is really hard to burn houses, since you shrink quite fast at that stage. I would rather had grown indefinitely until everything would have been burned and the snowmen would have melted for good ;) All in all really awesome work :)
Nice game! I like the graphics a lot :) However it is quite difficult, since the fire goes out so quickly and flames hurt you, when you do not hold the torch. That was a bit frustrating, however it was really fun to play :)
This is really awesome!
The graphics look nice and clean. The music fits very well and does not get annoying. Sfx are nice as well.
I like how you designed the levels to teach you the mechanics without feeling like a tutorial. And making the credits page a level itself is a nice idea :D
It reminded me of the ice puzzle of the second Pokemon generation, but without being annoying. Great work :)
Thank you all for your feedback :)
@lisyarus It seems you used the graph based approach to find the solution. That is basically "hard mode" :D Well done. You could have right clicked the icons on the playing field to find the solution by elimination of impossible locations for certain items ;)
@kubbl You mentioned an important point with the identification of icons on late levels. Maybe I should have added a magnification feature.
Really cool game!
At first it was a bit confusing, but once I got my head around the rules, it was really fun. Well at least at first. TBH you could crank up the difficulty. I finished with -29% suspicion on red and something around -6% on blue. Maybe the cover identities should noit give defense points when you loose the minigame? Once my identities improved to around 20, suspicion went down each turn (on average).
All in all verry fun game :)
@liam Well balancing is something that I really dread since it seems to be quite hard. I think to get it right you either need to play lots and lots of times or come up with a way to compute (or at least estimate) the probability of winning. Or both :)
After some time I started to always draw exactly one additional card on story telling. If I had exactly the starting deck in the draw pile this strategy would give me ~80% chance to level up. (When the deck gets bloated with suspicion this number might go down) So in 4/5 cases it would increase defense by 2 and in 1/5 cases decrease by 1. So on average it will increase by 1.4 points each time you play that card with that strategy and deck. You could bring this average down to no increase by reducing the defence by 8 on each fail (or nerfing the gain by dividing by 8). In order to find a good factor I would try come up with a way to automatically simulate that mini game for a given card deck (and hand) and use this (obviously rough and flawed) calculation as a starting point.
Enough math lessons for now. The game is fun after all :D
Nice game! It was fun to play :)
The graphics look really good and the music as well as soundeffects are very fitting. At first I did not really understand adverture mode. Took me quite some time to understand that I had to interact with the gold veins. It also was a bit confusing that they kept randomly appearing and disappearing. Besides that the puzzles were quite fun. Great work! :)
Very cute exploration game ^^ I like the graphics very much and am amazed how a two frame swim animation can look so good :)
The game could become more interesting if the pufferfish (or maybe another type) would swim around.
Nice work!
Great looking game! I really like the low-poly graphics.
It would have been nice to have auto fire and auto feed for the drilling since it was a bit tedious to click a total of 1000+ times ;) Especially for the feeding a hold down function would be really good.
The ending was... well... unexpected :D
Nice game. In general it was fun to play, however it was extremely repetitive. I was hoping that at least the second layer would act as a checkpoint so that I would not have to dig through the first layers. Especially since the first layers took the most time on each run. after finding the bone I wanted to know if there was something hidden on the deeper levels, so I started again and discovered that the level below the bone was a dead end. I think making the goal missable is one thing but suggesting to the player to give up is on another level. I think you should not do that to players that just have put much effort and patience to reach that point. Besides that the game was fun to play and the animations were really cute. Nice work :)
Nice game! Was quite fun to play :)
Once I got to 6 sauces, the difficulty seemed to stay the same. Maybe you could allow for more sauces or reduce the time limit slightly with each correct round. Another poossibility would be to make patterns more complicated (QQQPPP is rather easy while QPWOOQP is harder).
All in all nice work :)
Nice little game!
It is quite easy, since you can just clear out a tunnel im the middle of the right screen edge. You could make it more interesting by making the asteroids fly in random directions. Then the player would need to pay more attention to potential hazards.
All in all nice work :)
Very nice game! At first I did not understand that you need to be upright to dig. After realizing that the game was really fun to play :)
Unfortunately it always glitches out after the point where you have to choose between the orange and brown potion. After I get one of them and start digging 3 or 4 spaces down, I get a glitched out title screen and can start a new game. I lets me play from the start but displays the board from some levels down.
However it was fun to play until that point. Great work :)
Nice game! It was quite fun to play.
Once I started to basically only go down and not bother too much about getting gold, I started to recognize some patterns and use the bomb stretegically. That way I managed to keep the darkness away and accumulate 110 gold at the same time. At that point it felt like I could go on indefinetely. Maybe you could generate obstacles randomly and increase the chance to spawn stone over time. That way the game would definetely come to an end at some point.
Nice work :)
I made it to -17,93 :) The game was very fun to play. The graphics took really nice and I like the music and sfx!
At first it was not obvious to me that I got damaged and had a health bar. Maybe you could make that a bit more obvious. Also I did not like that i hat to use the mouse to restart. It would be more comfortable if you could quickly restart by pressing a key on the keyboard without having to reach for the mouse and point & click on the restart button.
All in all great entry!
Nice game :) At first I was a bit confused why I would always throw to 50 meters while the display featured 43 digits. Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun.
Nice game :) I like the idea. The music sets a nice melancholic mood. However it is a bit annoying that it restarts on each comparison.
P.S.: There is what appears to be degug info at the beginning of each comparison that breaks the game once you notice it. You may want to remove that ;)
Very nice mood and sound design! It would be nice to add some constant landmarks, because I had the feeling I was running in circles. Maybe some kind of beacon in the center of the game world. All in all good work.
Really nice game and cute graphics ^^ the sounds are great too and create a really nice atmosphere. I had the feeling that the bodybuilder cats were really impatient :D Great work
Hi @actuallythemoon , I'm sorry to hear that you cannot play the game. Sounds like the game crashed silently. Could you run it again from command line (java -jar 10SecondShmup.jar) and check whether any error messages get displayed on the console? They might pop up when you click on the button.
Hi @linus-lindberg , thank you so much for your encouraging feedback! Its nice to hear your thoughts and get ideas on how to improve :)
@simplepotential , @skleembof , @oleg20111511 , thank you all so much. I really appreciate for your feedback. TBH I was thinking about the grid vs. free movement a lot, so it really helps to read your perspectives on the topic. I decided on the latter mostly because I wanted to lean towards the real time (or planned real time) style rather that a turn based game. I fear that a grid might remove much of the time aspect and therefore compromise the 10-second-theme. I think the best solution would be the mentioned ghost / prewiew system, maybe coupled with the possibility to lock onto a lane. It might also help to introduce enemies that steer onto a collision course and introduce the aforementioned systems as uprades for harder enemies.
The hint towards the difficulty of scrap collection is also very useful. During development I lost the perspective on that., but I have some ideas on how to improve on that end :)
@oleg20111511 , it's funny that you mention the lack of an engine, since we recently discussed exactly that with a group of fellow gamedevs :D One of them put in into nice words: Admiration of software minimalism. The approach usually produces very basic games, but it's very pleasing to see how the tiny filesize of a few hundered KB packs enough content to be considered a proper game :)
So thanks again everybody for your feedback :)
Great idea! I liked how the game plays and especially how you included a tutorial on building types at the beginning. I wasn't really sure about the simulation, since food seemd to fluctuate no matter which buildings I installed. At one point I thought that energy surplus would generate food, but that turned out to be false. I think you could improve by teaching the player how the buildings and stats influence each other. Once the player understands the consequences of his actions it would be more fun to make decisions on buildings. The graphics look nice and the audio sounds great. I really likey the "Yummy" when you choose farm :D
@yanrishatum , the LEDs are in fact a good addition and work well if you know what they mean / what to do :) I would just change the white explanatory text to something that transports more urgency and is faster to read. I think of a flashing bright red warning sign next to "O2 broken! Pump manually!" or "Pressure leaking! Turn wheel!". But that's just an idea ;)
Nice concept! On my first run I collected 4 treasures and escaped without encountering the wizard, so I did not really get what could be hard about it. On the second run I explored more, got chased by the wizard and escaped with all five treasures. Maybe you could add a mechanic that does not allow to revisit rooms. Probably by giving each room a countdown that does not reset when going to another one. the aesthetics are quite nice and the sound is fitting. Nice entry :)
Great game! I was about to give up once the enemy blew up most of my base, but I managed to recover and win :D
The graphics are fitting and the sound design is nice. The start was a bit rough and I did restart once I figured out what I was supposed to do and how that would work. What I did not like was the frantic running around and hitting space. It might be interesting to try a system where you switch on and off buildings permanentely. That might turn out to be less engaging for the player, though. I would give it a shot and expand the economy system. That would shift the game fron action towards strategy / base building, so it probably depends on personal preferrence.
All in all great entry. It was fun to play and the project was nicely executed. good job!
This was a fun game :D The graphics look nice and the sfx are fitting. Gives off the feeling of a stressful cashier job :D nice work
Nice idea! The low-poly style looks quite fitting for a strategy game like this. The gameplay was a bit strange though. At first I wasn't sure what to do, but figured that out quite quickly. The AI seemed way too overpowered and conquered the map without me having a chance. Strangely it stopped at some point. That gave me the opportunity to retake the places that were not destroyed and kill all enemy armies. The process of srmy creation was quite tedious, because it required lots of clicking. Some hotkeys or autoproduction would be nice. I liked the different sounds, which reminded me of classic RTS games like C&C :) All in all good work!
Interesting concept. The graphics look really nice. I like the aesthetic :) Unfortunately I did not make if very far into the game. I think it yould be nice to make the regular conditions a bit more clear. I was not sure when to add coal, because the lowest level was indicated as green, but no temperature does not seem to be right. All in all nice entry :)
Btw.: The game crashed when I right-clicked while mopping up the water.
@salier, oh, I see! If the gauge is actually blue-green-red, it's clear what you have to do :)
That was a fun game :) The graphics look nice, especially the portraits in the cutscenes. The music fits the actions well. Its funny how the bad guys seem to bring away the moonshine by driving on a race track :D Something that could be improved is the aiming, since it is quite hard to hit the enemies. All in all fun entry.
This is such a nice idea :D The graphics and sound are really fitting and the gameplay is fun. Great job!
Really nice game! It was fun to learn the machanic, get the feeling that I got it and then fail :D The graphics and sounds work really nice and the gameplay is fun. The theme is also integrates into the game in a thoughtful way. Great work!
This was a really nice game! One thing that drove me mad was that the view kept slowly turning to the right, while the game was focussed, so after each klick I hit escape. That mede it playable as long as the mousecursor was in the screen area of the game. Once it left, I obviously lost control. I hope this is a problem only I encounter. If the turning was intended, please remove it, since it is only annoying and drove just short of quitting. Besides that, it is quite fun and until the end I could not predict if there really wasn't anything scary in the dark or if there would be a jumpscare at the end. But I will not spoil it for the other people here ;) Nice job!
@harksa Don't worry about it. It seems that other people have the same problem and I noticed it on multiple other games now. It seems to be a problem with either Firefox or the web player. I suspect that you wont be able to solve that. Just so you know it: I did not let that influence my rating of your game, anyway ;)
Thic is a nice game. The graphics and sounds are really nice. What I did not like was the level with the large holes. The problem with that is that you hav to just wait a long time to get a chance to try to jump over them. Since that is coupled with a barely makeable jump, that level created a lot of frustration and I was about to quit several times. I wanted to give the game a fair chance though, so I pushed through and managed to make that level. There would have been a lot less frustration if you would give the player a faster opportunity to retry certain elements. You could accomplish that for example by checkpoints or a manual battery change (and with that the time skip). I would also have liked some more levels because the concept is fun and has a some potential :) All in all nice wirk.
I died beacuse the gun blew up in my face :D The game was fun and the graphics as well as sounds work nicely. I think it would be nice to keep the green circle after the weapon has spawned to make it more visible. Also an indication where the weapon lies if it is off screen would be nice. The idea that you can use the weapon only a limited time is nice, because it makes you use different typed of weapons. Nice work!
Really funny game :D The twist in the word "seconds" made me laugh out loud :D great work!
Neat game :) The graphics and sounds are awesome! I found it pretty hard to brew anything. By the time I made out a recipe that could be made with available ingredients, I had only seconds left to put them into the cauldron. Some progressive difficulty would have been nice, but I do not have an idea how to make it easier without compromising central mechanics... The whole concept is nice anyway and you did a good job on the project :) Nice!
This a really great game! The graphics and sound are awesome. Gameplay is mostly nice. One thing that I would change is the dash mechanic. It felt a bit awkward sometimes. I would prefer a dash towards the nearest enemy (or enemies if you have the chain-dash upgrade). Also the camera was sometimes not ideal. Maybe a fixed camera for the room would work better (like in The Binding of Isaac). Other than that it works really well. It took me some time to understand that I can buy upgrades any time, but then I liked that pay with time mechanic a lot. Also the boss fight is nice.
I would not mind if the pope would learn about Count down Dracula and send some more bishops towards him ;) I hope you keep developing this one further!
This was quite fun. I like the simple art style and the sounds. The game is a bit hard though. I got quickly overrun. The idea is nice anyway :) good job
The graphics look really cute. Especially the cat and it's walking animation ^^ Maybe you could also add some loose condition by introducing obstacles or things you should not collect. The latter could also be colored. All in all nice work.
Really nice game! It reminds me a bit of McPixel :) I did not really understand the ending, but figuring out the solution was really fun. The mechanic where you keep one item is really nice and works well. The graphics look really nice and the sond fits well. I actually would have liked to play some more rooms! I hope you keep working on this and add some more content, since it has a lot of potential! Great job!
The art style and mood are really nice on this one. Unfortunately the web version does only show cyrillic, which I cannot read, and the downloadable version seems bugged as @steinuil already mentioned. It seems that there is a riddle in the childrens room on the bear to the left in the web version which is not present in the downloadable one. All in all you made a nice looking game :)
Interesting concept. I like the idea of the journal unlocking dialogue options, but I did not figure out how to acomplish that. The whole premise seems quite promising and I would like to see the game developed further. and maybe some hints would be nice to figure out how to progress. All in all nice work :)
Nice work! The graphics look nice and the sounds produce a really dense atmosphere. I wasn't sure about the enemies, because they kept attacking and did not give me much time to explore. that might need some tweaking. The sonar pulses look really great. Especially the different colores it shows when it hits different things. Good work!
This was quite a fun game. The graphics and sound were really nice and fitting. I found it a bit tediuos after a while. Constantly checking the personal needs is quite stressful, when you do not know when it ends. I would have liked a level system where you have to moderate X amount of posts. That would give the player some breathing room from time to time. However, the amount of content ist quite impressive. So, all in all very solid entry :)
This is quite a fun game once you understand what you are doing! The graphics and sound are really nice. I'm not sure about how the states influence gameplay. My strategy was to just maximize attacking, which led to winning the game. Maybe you could slow the progression a bit down and show the effects of the different states. Also I would suggest to enlarge the state bars, since they are the area that is looked at most of the time. And I would change the font color on the rules screen, since the contrast with the background is quite low. All in all you made a game that is pretty, works nicely and feels quite polished. Good job!
Fun turn on the Match-3 genre :) The graphics look clean and fitting. I think a possible improvement could be to implement some kind of progression system to combat the repetitivity. All in all nice and fun game :)
P. S.: I encountered a bug, where wrong pieces would form a bond and another where a piece of a bond could be moved. I think it happened when I selected a piece before the laser shot and moved it afterwards.
Unbenannt.png
Nice idea! The controls are a bit hard, since you sometimes seem to not point in the direction you are going. It was hard to understand how to play, but I managed to find it out :) The time limit is really hard in this famous restaurant ;)
This reminded me of some webgames I played some time ago. I think in those you had to stack tetrominoes. Anyway... The concept is nice! As someone else said, you can cheese the levels, so either the win condition should be adjusted or you could introduce a rule that you can only place blocks a little above the highest block that is in contack with other blocks. It might also be interesting to add a mechanic that asks you to place amount X of blocks every 10 seconds. that would change the game towards a puzzle-dexteritx game. Your game looks and feels very polished. The aesthetics look very clean and fitting. Good job on that. So, all in all great entry, especialls as you first game jam project :)
Really nice game! The graphics are nice and the cat slime looks really cute ^^ I would make the slime stop more instantaneously. Also the last level had a very different flow that the others. I pushed through to see if there would be something else, but it was not that fun compared to the other levels. You could also add a ceiling to the first level, since you can scale the walls andjump out of bounds ;) All in all you did a really good job on thins one :)
Fun game! The graphics look cute. I like how the radishes are too large for the boxes :) The matching mechanic is also really fun.
My score was 507
I have the same problem as @balimaarthebassfish
On Windows 10 it says that "VCRUNTIME140D.dll" and "ucrtbased.dll" cannot be found
@vknauss Thx for fixing the windows version and replying :) I was now able to start the game and make some deliveries. Unfortunately the game crashed two times while I was in the deliveries menu. The first time it might have been caused by me clicking on multiple deliveries. The second time I tried to close the window by hitting ESC. That put me into pause mode, which I was not able to leave. In both cases the program crashed. Maybe you can reproduce and fix those issues somehow.
I know how frustrating it is when people report system dependent problems. During my first LD I also had problems with mac support, which was really annoying. I hope that it does not frustrate you too much and you keep up the work! Therefore some thoughts on the game itself:
* The idea and story re really nice. It's fun to play a postman that is so dedicated to his work that even the zombie apocalypse does not stop him from elivering mail ^^
* I like that you can choose from different assignments. Maybe you could add some kind of minimap to help judge the risk of the assignement.
* The upgrade system is a good idea too. Maybe more powerful optins like firearms would be fun too.
* The "bonk" sound effekt really made me laugh :D It came quite unexpected
@simmo Thx so much. It's nice to hear your appreciation ^^
@random-ideation-studios Thx for your enthusiasm. Feels good to read your encouragement. I'll definitely play more games to get visibility as soon as I find time :)
@mastoast Thank you for the suggestion. It is a really good idea to include descriptions!
@zhiteng-chen Thx, I surely will come over to your game :)
@blazerdom Nice to hear that. It's exactly what I was aiming for. Thx ^^
@bullex Thank your for taking the time to leave the suggestions. I like all of them! Especially the second and third since I also found later levels tediousduring testung. "Remove all" is obviously useful once you try to get the bonus stars. And maybe it would be useful to be able to add instructions to the "hand" and carry a while list around. Thx again :)
@veralos Thank you too for the detailed feedback :) I also like your suggestion on how to improve. As mentioned above, I would like to make it possible to carry a list, to which one could add instructions anddrop them at once. Thank you so much ^^
@schrimpsmitreis Thx and <3 for getting 100% ^^ I'm not sure what other game you mean, but I would like to take a look, since I'm working in education. Could you leave a link to it? Do you maybe mean "Nicky der Roboter"? That one is often used in school (at least in Germany).
@justine-d and @smoky01 Thank you both so much ^^ It feels nice to read those words!
@bullex Sorry, I forgot to answer your question... I just used plain java without any non-standard libraries. Over the years I packaged some standard code sniplets (like for gfx setup, mail loop, etc.) and use them as a base for my games. However it would be a stretch to call it a library :D
@yuriscat , @apoly , @binroot , @wobbleblocks Thank you very much for your encouraging words :)
@pndaa Thank you too for your lovely feedback! The red instructions are most important for the memory and speed stars, as well as the later levels ;)
@kristinamay I am sorry to hear that you cannot run it right now. Can I do something to help?
The game is fun :) The jump mechanic is really fun to use. It reminded me of Jump King, but with mouse controls and a boost option. It was quite hard to get a hang of it, since sometimes the launch angle seems off (when having a lot uf upward force and little sideways force, it launched too much sideways). Once I understood the handling it was fun to jump around :)
Fun little game ^^ I really liked the graphics and the art style! The different obstacles are really funny and made me laugh :D
It took me some time to figure out that I could scroll to the right. That also made it hard to understand why my bees were disappearing.
However the game was quite fun. The graphics and sound are really great. Nice work!
Quite a nice game. However I do not understand what to do as soon as I deliver the packet to the cat at the end. It just seems that at that point the collision detection stops working. The pixel art is nice :)
@natirlich Oh, I see! It was the old problem of the ticking clock... I'm pretty sure every LD participant ever can relate to that situation. Well, I take your answer as notification of me winning ;P Thx for replying :)
Fun concept. It is quite hard to find good spots, but that is ok. It would be nice if the game would tell you clearly when it will end.
The music is quite nice :)
Very fun idea! It was quite fun to bring different chacters to the different levels and see what you could do there :)
Nice take on the theme! The sound effects of the trucks were nice :D
Wow, this was the most awesome experience since the rick and morty episode where they went to atlantis! I cannot decide which one is better...
There was so much tension from the beginning until the final twist. The character development was also on a different level that usual LD games.
Awesome work!
Nice game! The graphics are great and together with the sounds they create an awesome atmosphere.
I wasn't really sure what my role and goal were. Maybe it was just me, but it was a bit hard to understand what the consequences of sending and not sending letters to the people were.
However I like the idea and had fun playing :)
Really fun game!
The music was really catchy ^^ I also like the graphics a lot. The level looks really great and the ingredient splashing effect after jums was fun.
Only thing I would like to see gradual increasing difficulty. It's quite hard to get a hang of the game, since you are running quite fast from the beginning. Maybe you could slowly increase speed. Another option would be to start with only few obstacles that increase in frequency.
All in all great entry :)
Really fun game! The graphics look awesome and the mechanics are fun. Really well executed idea :)
What a pretty game! The graphics look really awesome and the sound effects and music fit really good. I also like the jumping and throwing mechanics. It reminds me a little bit about Jump King.
Unfortunately I got stuck right after the third checkpoint, because there were some platforms to the right and a smoll one to the left. I was not able to jump that far to the right and the platforms above were too far away.
However I had a lot of fun until that point, so all in all you made a really awesome game! Congratulations :)
Funtake on the TD genre. As @leking noted, sprinklers are OP :D After level 1 I invested all my money in spriklers and put them in the first hairpin curve. Even the oncle sams could barely make it to the second turn. Also the mouse input was way off. Maybe the reason was my resolution, but it seemed that the x and y coordinates were devided by 2 or 3.
However, the voiced lines were quite funny. All in all nice entry.
The graphics look really great and I like the sfx. However I cannot deliver the hamburger. I pick it up and fly to the destination, but regardless of where I stop, I cannot activate the delivery zone with E or Space.
This game was great! The graphics looked good and sfx were fitting. Especially the music was great, since it conveyed a relaxed mood, which was perfect for puzzling.
However, what bothered me was the difficulty curve. The first levels were really easy, but then it started to get really tricky. I was about to give up multiple times, but pushed through. It would be nice if you could make the steps a bit easier. Maybe by providing only the parts that are needed for the current stage.
I started to notice, how some parts came together really nicely, which was really rewarding. I was hoping that in the end all of the parts would come together into one complete design, but was diappointed when I solved the second last level with rather messy wiring and quite a lot of spare parts. That's just too bad, since I really like the concept of incremental additions to the machine. I would love to see an extended version where you build a machine (or rather multiple machines) that uses all parts that get delivered. It would be fun if the player needs to use the parts in different spots throughout the stages. However, what I want to see the most is that in the end all parts come together and nothing is left over.
This is one of my favorite games this LD and I would love to see it being developed into something bigger :) Provided that *HE* approves of it.
!> :crab::crab::crab: Hail to the almighty lobster! :crab::crab::crab: May he pinch those who did not enable the lobster emoji in the comment section :crab::crab::crab:
What a pretty game! The graphics look really awesome and the sound effects and music fit really good. I also like the jumping and throwing mechanics. It reminds me a little bit about Jump King.

However I had a lot of fun until that point, so all in all you made a really awesome game! Congratulations :)
@dominikam33 Oh no, how embarassing :[ I was in the wrong browser tab.
Unfortunately I was not able to start your game since I do not use LÖVE. Is there a possibility for you to compile it into a standalone executable?
@dominikam33 Sure, take your time :) Please write a comment here and mention me when you are done, so I get a notification. I will play the game then :)
This is a nice take on game of life. It looks like only cells that are drawn to in the beginning are able come alive. Makes for funny animations :)
The game has such a nice artstyle! It sets a really awesome mood :)
Unfortunately I had super low FPS. Are there any specifiq requirements to get it running smoothly?
Really beautiful and fun entry :) It was nice to explore the dialogue choices. This could have a lot of potential as a story driven game, if the group visites you regularly and you could influence their behaviour. Maybe they could bring sacrifices or so.
Nice work!
This is a really fun automation game! I did like the animations and pixel art. The sounds and music were fitting, however I was about to have enough of them after my playthrough. Speaking of it, the mission system was nice, since it acted like a progression system and slowly made me try the different systems.
A small annoyance was the misplaced blocking of mining demons (they block the space above them, instead of the one where they are placed). It felt a bit cheaty to stack them up, but it sped up the pace a little.
All in all very fun and satisfying game :)
This was really fun! I linke how the movement is used to cast spells. Makes you consider the terrain when you go into a fight. Might be even more interesting if the paterns were bigger.
Nice work :)
Shooting the skully was eally fun. The controls feel really smooth.
I really liked the teleportation mechanic. The first ledge was quite hard to get onto, but it was nice once it worked.
Nice job!
Really fun idea :D The ending was unexpected ;)
Also, that must have been hell of a party!
This was so nice! I even replayed it to get the second ending. However, I am missing one soul. Is there a list of all souls?
When I finally summoned the girlfriends ghost and he mentioned her needing a body I expected to get another decision about finding a body 😅 luckily it did not get that gruesome ;)
Also I hope that it is not too annoying to be summoned by your players all the time ;) keep up the candle-rific work!
Really fun game! The graphics are really beautiful!
The second level was quite challenging. At first I was not sure how to be successful, since I tried killing all enemy zombies. In the third level I noticed, that it oftenc comes down to be lucky because killing the enemy necromancer instantly kills his zombies.
Really nice entry :)
The mood in this town is really nice. It was fun to see the towners pouring whole buckets du extinguish the downers' candles :D Nice work
This looks like a nice idea! It took me a moment to realize that summopned monsters also can attack your character. This twist has a lot of potential.
At least on the windows version there is a weird grafical bug, where creatures seem to disappear. Only the shadow can be seen. Looks a bit like the masking of the images goes wrong.
Is there a way to survive for more than a couple of seconds? The enemies usually overrun me pretty quickly.
You might want to change the category of your main Link. I was about to close the tab since I'm not on Linux. Then I decided to at least look at the source and finally found the windows build ;)
It was fun summoning the differend creatures. It might be a bit more challenging if inputs had to be done during the countdown. Queueing them up before the timer starts makes it rather easy. Anyway, nice game.
Nice idea! It reminds me a lot of Papers Please :) Some more info on how to find the murder pixel would be nice. Maybe it would also good to introduce the mechanics one by one and make finding the pixel more difficult over time. The graphics look really nice and polished :)
@kirlosev Yes, missing explanations are also always a problem for my games. I understand how hard it is to cut that part when the deadline approaches -.- I hope that you develop the game further :) Cheers
@tofi123 , @crozzy , as @alextagtal mentioned, you need Java installed. If you have it installed, you may need to unpack the zip-file for the game to access the assets. Sorry for the inconvenience :(
@alextagtal thank you for the feedback :) Unfortunately I was not able to include a tutorial, but I will add information on your questions to the description. Also thanks for clarifying the Java-problem for the other users :)
And congratulations on finishing scenario 1. Nice to hear that someone elso was also able to do it :)
@neoleg thanks for the feedback! Yes, I figure, the puzzles are especially hard since the are not self explanatory... Next time I'll focus on including explanations ingame. For now the description has to step in :D
@zoeagxn Sorry to hear that the game crashed :( If you got an error message I would love to see it. Otherwise i hope, you had fun until that point :) Nice to hear that you solved scenario 1!
@plasticsword Thanks for clarifying the java command! I'll add it to the description.
And thank you for your feedback. If you would like a hint: You need to figure out the right moment to jump and apply a positive value to the putput neuron only then.
Nice game! I like how polished it is. the bunnies look really cute and the music creates a nice atmosphere :) Maybe you could include an overall time limit or some other form of increasing difficulty. Perhaps the bunnies could become more and more impatient. All in all great game :)
Very fun game! The low movement speed annoyed me at first but later I realized that the skins give you more :D I found two things you might want to improve: First, disable shooting while reloading. In theory you could shoot indefinitely when you always reload after the first bullet. Second, you should reset mechanics on reload. The speed-up on the AK persisted afer reloading automatically. That made the boss rather easy, because I just overwhelmed him :) Nonetheless the game was really fun to play. It's nice to see that you managed to finish such a well-made game in the time available :) Keep up the good work!
Super fun game! It is really hard since the cards you get are very luck-dependent. I hat a classic Mario Kart moment where I was overtaken right before the finish line :D It's really nice how you combined the card mechanics with a racing game. Awesome work!
@alexrak2 Thank you :)
@sayeg Thanks :) Do you mean the board game, where you move around a mall? I'm not aware of another Magic Maze.
@sicosiber Well, you might just have found the inspiration for our game :D Here im Germany it is called *Das verrückte Labyrinth*, but there seem to be localized versions in other countries. I loved that game as a child and am glad that it did not have those dead end tiles :D
@googlefrog , I'm sorry to hear about the problem. The game is actually compiled for Version 21. TBH, I have been confused about Java versions for a long time. As I understand it now, there are currently multiple versions with long term support, 1.8 being one of them. However it seems to be recommended to switch to the latest LTS version, which currently is 21. I actually wanted to compile it for 1.8, but I used some more recent features. Unfortunately, my IDE does not show errors when selecting a lower compliance level. If I'll be able to quickly configure that and the work on the code is not too extensive, I might provide a version for Java 1.8. Until then, please consider switching to Java 21 (I use the JDK from Oracle).
@lisek-gagatek I'm sorry to hear that, but I won't be able to revert to 1.8 in the near future. Until then, Java version 21 is required, unfortunately.
@team-9tailed Thank you so much. It's always nice to meet fellow Labyrinth players :)
@athospap It happens rather rarely, but your comment make me actually laugh out loud :D I really appreciate your respect for our daring seeker of rather decent excitement. We will definitely take your suggestion for the next adventure into account. Tanks :)
@darklumo Tanks for the suggestions! Some ambient music would really make the audio experience more pleasant. I also like the idea of prices to transmit the feeling of progression. We will try to work towards those aspects next time :)
@googlefrog Awesome! Happy to hear that you managed to make it work. And tanks for playing that long! There actually is some difficulty progression (over time, new tiles will more and more often be dead ends), but the difficulty ramps up way too slow. We'll take that into account next time :)
@fenix131113 Thank you so much. Happy to hear, that you like the character :)
@kaspjej @kveg Thank you so much :)
@2009yasha2009 Thanks a lot for the kind words :) To clarify: The top-left tile is the one that you push into the playfield. And Saboteur is super fun! Especially, if you are playing with people who ignore their roles and play as a saboteur all the time 🙈
@tod-semple I'm sorry to see the error. It indeed comes from running Java version 8. The game requires at least version 21. I was hesitating on updating for a long time, but recently found out that it is easy to have two versions in parallel. I am now running a JDK version 21 for modern software and development, and version 8 for legacy software (tbh, only a single program :D). I would suggest to maybe consider a similar setup.
The game looks very nice. I did not really understand what to do, especially an the beginning. Once I looked at the inputs in the video, I got the ship started and encountered the shark. I was even able to escpe it :) However, the second dot did not give me an encounter and I was not able to use the lever to surface. Nonetheless, I really like the concept. With a bit more time, it could be a really fun and tense game. Nice work!
@2009yasha2009 you do not need to appologise. Game jams always come with a lot of time pressure and that forces us to abandon features and cut the scope. It is still nice to see, what you have accomplished :)
What a fun game! Some spots were really infuriating, but the checkpoints are set perfectly for making the player give it another go :) Awesome work!
Unbenannt.png
The game is super nice! I was expecting to also pull out some dangerous old munitions like in those videos on Youtube :D
The graphics look awesome. They hae a realy nice tone and pallet and the animations are great. The overall gameplay loop is great. I liked the combination of collecting treasure with the mechanic from Stardew Valley and then inspecting them Papers Please style! Some random ideas for improvements: I wasn't sure what impact throwing strength had, if any at all. Are the larger treasures farther out? Also I was not sure when a treasure counted as caught. Did I have to stay in the red/green zone for some time or be there at a certain point in time? Switching back and forth between the view of the treasures and the drawing was a bit annoying, but it still felt like an important mechanic. It might work to make the indicators for fakes even more subtle and show the drawing besides them. If the indicators are subtle enough, you might even get rid of the time limit and derive the excitement completely out of the uncertainty of the player. Maybe even give them information that is partly unreliable or distributed (stained drawing + verbal statements from experts).
In any case, the game is a really solid LD entry. I would like to see a follow-up version :) Great work!
@yoav-kagan thank you for clarifying! Keep up the good work :)
Very fun game! It reminded me of some classic flash games. There were some similar ones where you got different brain teasers and I enjoyed all of them as much as your game :)
Super fun game! Reminds ma a lot of Dorfromantik :) Awesome work!
Unbenannt.png
Super fun game! Graphics and audio are nice too. It feels a lot like those old-school flash game in which I can sink an unspeakable amout of time :D
