This is so pretty! There is so much to experiment with. I feel that the balance would be improved if you had more space to put the buildings in, so that you could leave spaces to fill in later on. I think it would be also good to have some sort of unlocking system based on initial choices in the game to affect the later game.

A very nice game, i like how things get upgraded, it seemed a bit difficult to place things in good places as there wasn't maney available tiles

Could really imagine a payed version of this on steam, just every component felt awesome, from graphics to sound and gameplay.

Thanks a lot for the feedback ;)
The available tiles are delibarately limited to avoid mindless plays, but we can tweak it. This needs some more playtesting so be sure we will make a v2 :)
There's actually a lot we can, and will improve in the future!
Excellent game

Wow, what a polished game and very fun to play too. Nice work!
On a sidenote, I'd disable voting for Humor and Audio, since neither are applicable/attributable, which in turn might increase the overall score. Though most don't care about the score :)
Really professional! Amazing game. Not sure about the shape shifting, but truly a great game!

Great game! The options are limited but it's very polished and cute and I would definitely enjoy playing a bigger version of it in the future!

I just thing that it's very difficult to control how your city grows, because the player don't have enough place to plan the city pieces, but very nice idea of game, the graphics are gorgeous.

Very nice and polished game.
I'm not sure if it's possible to lose after those 55 days, (I admit I wasn't min-maxing very carefully, so I was expecting some failure condition eventually), but I found it a welcome detail. It makes for a more relaxed experience, fitting the aesthetics.
Great job!!
Lovely~ <3

Thank you, your comments make us want to keep on working on the game! We will definitely think of ways to make it better.
Oh, and feel free to post your score! I may also add a leaderboard in the future (hopefully this kind of thing is allowed? This is just to add a little competition!)
@Pantelis Petsopoulos: We didn't sleep... Should have, though :D
@eott: Good point, we'll look into this. Actually I would have liked to have some humor in the game :/
@pixelgriffin: We didn't want to take the theme to litteraly but yes, we were not so sure either actually.
@Hyoga-3D: That's more of a puzzle game than a city builder, but I get your point. That's something we'd like to work on :)
@Ithildin: Failure is not possible for now. A way to do it would be to prevent the island for expanding when you build something without leveling up any building; game over when running out of tiles to build on. That's another thing we may implement in future versions ;)
Excellent entry! Great quality in every aspect, really impressive for a jam. Respect!
My score is 4904 :)

I have no idea what am I doing. I think all the interactions of the buildings should clearer somehow. Maybe highlight which buildings synergy with the one I am about to place or something.
Great art and music - really well polished. Overall Very interesting tile placing game.

Absolutely stunning work for a game jam entry. It's more complete than many mobile games up for sale! Well done, I'm very impressed. Got 5590 for my first score :)
A really super polished game! I'm not sure if it fits well with the theme but so good regardless!

The theme was implemented in such an elegant way. I really liked this entry! Also, I really like building games, so you really got me with this one! :)

its a finished game and the concept is solid
improve the diff curve and sell it (more tile)
Amazing job

No use i am just happy to finish it
Wow! Great game for only 72 hours!

Wow. What a great game, so polished. You could maybe have more space available to place the buildings in, because it's sometimes hard to plan the next move but appart from that this is really good!
5232! I love the music and the atmosphere of this game, it is very calming and enjoyable. Cute and just challenging enough.
Really impressive graphics!
Best entry I've played so far. Amazing work.
Great game, like a casual gamers version of Sim city, cool mechanic with the circle of zone types. Was fun seeing the buildings evolve, kept me coming back to play one more round. Would love to see more of this. :)

I think this is a very interesting entry because of the polish factor. The game is very concentrated on one specific mechanic. If you are experienced and plan ahead I think the thought of doing this game in such a short amount of time gets very realistic. But I don't want to discount the amazing work done here. Wonderful work!
Clean design, super intuitive, and really beautiful art! Well done. 6550 happiness!
Feels like I'm constantly fighting with what little new land I have so you can never plan and therefore your score is random.

Nothing to say, great game.
Maybe some buildings could be hide, turn the view can be cool (but it's just an observation if you want to continue to work on the game)

Please make a mobile version of this, it's so relaxing and I feel it can be really deep. One thing I thought was missing was a better way to see the overall relationships, but it's not a fault at all. Loved your game, congrats =)
Very cool game, the art is amazing. I took a long time to figure how to play properly.

Nice work!
The graphics took awesome and the sound is very fitting. It sets a nice relaxed mood. I like that you always remind, which buildingtypes will be affected by the current building. Also, the upgrading feels really great.
Great concept! Love the idea of a randomly build sim city. Great work.

Really cool game! I could play it much longer if you decide to continue the dev. ;)
This game is so nice and calming, it's just a fun and nice little game to play with, and one you can play over and over thanks to the scoring system. The art style is nice and cute, and fits the mood of the game very well.
I love how you integrated the upgrade/boost circle into the top right corner, making it much easier to be able to plan ahead. Overall incredibly fun, will definetly play it again and again.

Man, this is incredibly polished!
If I had to criticize, I'd say that at times it felt that too much of my success (or lack of) was down to chance - that my highest scoring games were based around the random draws working out for me rather than my planning.
All the same, there's a good bit of depth here for an LD game - great job!
I really enjoyed playing this game. The only thing is I felt like I didn't have too many options of where to place the buildings.

Very pretty one of the best I've played so far.
The audio is very soothing and breaths peace and rest to the game.
The gameplay is well executed but resembles concrete jungle a bit too much.
The art is very well done.
Very simple looking game with great depth and lot a lot of fun.
I'd say expand a bit more and put it on the AppStore ;)
I love those graphics! The concept is also pretty nice.
Nice. Would be cool if you had the ability to rotate, and maybe a few additional game mechanics (like event cards or something), but this is a great start. I even enjoyed playing it as is.
Really great work!

Really nice game. Would be awesome if there was chain reaction by plcing new itmes near older ones, little bit like grow games.
Good job ;)
Very fun and relaxing game with stellar graphics and great music. I will probably play this one through a few more times, and I'd be interested to see if you keep working on it what it could become. Great fun.
PS. 5694 was my score. I felt good about that.

Really, really excellent game, had a lot of fun to watch the building growing.
I'm not sure about the fitting to the theme ^^, but still had a lot of fun :)
If I had to make a little change I would increse island growing to reduce rng dependancy ^^
Excellent work overall !

Really cool! Lovely assets and cool gameplay!
Maybe too difficult at the end to see the building on the background but not very inconvenient
For my second try I made 5176!

Love the art, the music is complementary to the mood and doesn't get in the way. A few more sound effects would have made it perfect.
Overall, great work!

Thank you again!
We now the game is not so easy to understand prior to actually playing (I had a hard time writing the tutorial). This needs a real in-game tutorial to get you started.
Again, the number of tiles you can work on may change in a future version (post LD).
Same for the player feedback and sound effects (I was actually just experimented a few things minutes ago).
On a side note, I am thinking of a little twist to the formula, must discuss it between us. Wait and see :)
Nice to see your scores by the way, they are quite good! I myself hardly event went past 5000-5500 points during testing :p
How does this shape shift? I don't understand, sorry.

nice game!
The game is interesting. Music and graphics on top!
I'm play this game again and again and again... I love it =D
Very cute game! Really enjoyed it!
But please opt out of audio rating.
The game looks really good and the soundtrack was excellent. However it had a bit to much randomness over strategy for my taste. But it was still fun and I would definitely play this on my phone.
6296 :)
That was fun! A little limiting, seems like space needs to be just a little more abundant. But this would make a great mobile game.
I liked the little arrows showing what would be affected by placement, as well as the descriptions always showing the effect relationships. That helped a ton, as I wouldn't have remembered the chart.
This is excellent. High marks across the board :)

very solid entry, the game has great potential!
I really liked the graphics and the music.
Just one remark: it would be nice to have somme feedback in the end to know if the score is decent or not

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description

Thanks for the feedback!
@MayMakeGame: During development the theme actually seemed less and less obvious... But this is something I would definitely like to talk about in a post mortem.
@LostViking & HoldMeImScared: That is something we will improve in post-LD versions: giving more space to the player (but not too much! ;)). We are actually thinking of a many ways to add depth to the game!
@axoona: I wanted to make a leaderboard (post-LD) but I'm afraid it's too late now :/

Would make a great mobile game, already has the graphics and UI to match. I think more choices for land placement would make it a bit better.

Pretty graphics, really fun gameplay! Overall nice game!
It's hard to plan if the buildings are given to you in a specific order :) and the space too small to really have any options.
You clearly spent a lot of time on the presentation, which is lovely!
I rated this game some days ago and didn't comment so here it goes. I found it really interesting to make it into a little puzzle where buildings affect eachother, i had a few times where the random buildings came up to 5 times the same building and it was too negative for the one free space per turn. Other than that, it was really fun, the art and sound was great, and i'd love to play an extended version of it, thanks!

@lightsoda: Think of it as more of a puzzle game than a city builder :) But we don't want player to get frustrated and actually I already have a few ideas to solve this problem!
@Sabina Lis: Currently it's 100% random so yeah, sometimes you get the same building again and again. That's something we are working on in the improved version.
Thanks for the feedback :)
