LD30 — Connected Worlds

Pilgrimage by Follett 2014-08-26T19:13:00

Man - i wanted to play this game since i saw one of your ludum dare post on the mainsite. And the game is really no let down!
The concept is great, the game is beautiful and man... that animationquality sure is polished well. I was playing this game alone so i am sure i haven't even seen the true gameplay/fun potential yet. However the game has a real hard time starting and i can't seem to get the windows version running under any circumstances. Which is pretty sad because it's one of those games i would see myself starting and playing even after a month when ludum dare is not that present anymore in my mind. I experienced quite the framedrops during playing although i'm sure much of it was because i had to run the browser-version of the game. Anyways this game is pretty cool and I hope you'll get out a fixed version in due time - as of yet i wasn't able to reach any fragment - but when the game doesn't go to slideshowmode anymore when i face the mid of the map i am sure to give it a go again. great game.

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE by xk 2014-08-27T19:01:00

Cool game. I was starting like... alright this is pretty chill and then was like well this escalated quickly.
The graphics are cool and the gameplay is pretty fast. I like the different types of enemies - took me a while to understand that my guy couldn't be damaged by them. It was like BEING the last turret in a towerdefense game which was ultimately setup to lose. Well done. :)

Otherworld by Malapropos 2014-08-26T17:47:00

Nice game with great art. Especially the first boss looked really nice.
I played the webplayerversion and had a problem where when dashing via right-click it opened also the right click menu.
Also some kind of regeneration or healthpickups would be pretty appreciated. :D

Altrein's Portal by MacronCPP 2014-08-27T10:19:00

Nice take on a towerdefensegame. the theme felt a little shoe horned in - i guess you guys weren't a great fan of it.
The music was nice and the graphics pretty ok - all i really missed was the ability to build walls to create paths which is my favorite thing in TD-games. Was it a aware decision to strip that feature or was it that you didn't want to bother too much with pathing? Anyways - i made it through your game and saved the world. :D

Altrein's Portal by MacronCPP 2014-08-27T10:22:00

Oh yeah and i liked the UI to place the defenseplates a lot. It was cool that you could select lines and squares. And that it never added more costs if you boxselected over already placed towers.

InfiLoop by komjaur 2014-08-27T11:45:00

Well yeah - i like antichamber a lot myself - however i'd wish for a bit more diversity to the original. It feels more like a my bestof of antichamber. However - nice take on the theme in any way. And it IS pretty true to the original. :)

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-08-27T11:36:00

This is simply grande. I remember seeing some of your indev. posts on the ludum dare site about how you spend to much time on trees - and I already wanted to see more. :D
But hell the soundcomposition when the moon appeared was absolutely cool. I got stuck 'cause i didn't knew by east you meant west. xD However played through it twice in a row. Great experience.

IsoWorlds by ob6160 2014-08-27T12:42:00

Reminiscent of games like banished. I like the idea of setting up buildings and having AI take care of the task.
However after my builders build to bridges and said "yay found the portal" the game didnt advance to the second level. Dunno if i had to do something different... anyways could use a little more polish and more diverse buildings - but i like the concept. :)

I Think I Broke Something by Otrora Games 2014-08-26T10:16:00

The Art is nice, the difficulty is horror. :D
I averaged a survivaltime of about 20 seconds. The game does good with the fast respawn to get you in again - however starting with slightly easier levels may come a long way.
Also sometimes i got the feeling that the archer and mage didnt hit their respective enemies (spiders and ghosts)

Gods Tactics by eLLectron 2014-08-27T12:19:00

Man I'm a sucker for a game like this. Seriously - i would love to love this. But there are a few things that turn me slightly off. Firstof - this game NEEDS attackanimations. Or atleast have the text scroll faster. I like simulations like this and am a ok with having to plan my battles beforehand. I'd wish for some options like "when low on hp" use potion or "when enemy is charging" use defend. However nice gamedesign - the arena looks cool. I hope you'll finish this game or someone will ever come up with a similar design. Nice idea, really. :)

Gods Tactics by eLLectron 2014-08-27T14:20:00

Nice - i didnt notice. Well on my first battle two of my guys were still on randommode all around. I'll be happy if the UI does some work for me then. :)

Drink the Ink (Text Adventure) by TheExGenesis 2014-08-27T13:40:00

This was a nice experience. The soundtrack carried it well to the end. I died. After having a wank and not finding Narnja.
I like the game - it knows what it's strong at. It doesn't need me to tell.

...
Played it twice - hoping for a different ending. Nope. No Luck.

Zanlings Match - Connected Worlds by Franklin's Ghost 2014-08-26T18:34:00

Sweet game. And the most creative and fitting idea for the theme. i like it pretty much. The soundeffects in the beginning were disturbing and weird gave of the vibe of a saladfingers episode. Actually sounds and music for the mainpart of the game would have come a long way to making it more enjoyable. I didnt quite got to the characters though - guess that's why i ended up with froopal. But hey - good food is always nice. :)
Oh yeah and nice art also.

Contested Systems by JoshDBB 2014-08-27T13:02:00

Pretty cool concept - reminds me of the worms series. While it took some time to get to the basic strategy involved i can see this getting pretty deep - as even when playing only against myself I got to an stalemate which i then broke again. pretty interesting game - although i'm not convinced either side can ever win. hiding your units on the backside of planets is just to effective. I like the minimalistic appearance too. Solid entry + nice physics. :)

Don't Share! by Fumiko 2014-08-26T13:47:00

We'll be working on the multiplayer and release a new Version in the next few weeks. :) There's still a long way to go when the time was up, so we'll do a second release once ludum dare voting finished. So we can improve stability, add a chat log, real usernames and an ingame chat to actually see who's online.

Don't Share! by Fumiko 2014-08-26T19:17:00

Thanks man - i am glad to hear that you liked my character-designs. :)
Indeed everything seen in the game is handcrafted during the time of ludum dare - we didnt reuse any models or code - although that may have been a good idea. :D

Don't Share! by Fumiko 2014-08-26T19:19:00

Also some of the onlinefeatures seem to bug right now and we're unsure whether we're in our right to fix codesnippets after submitting our entry.

Don't Share! by Fumiko 2014-08-27T15:32:00

The Weblink is gonna get fixed rather soon (either by getting the build right or removing the weblink) - thanks for hinting it to us.
Hey Franklins Ghost - thanks for the nice words - glad you had a somewhat good time with our game. :)

Don't Share! by Fumiko 2014-08-27T21:41:00

Hey everyone! We figured out a way to get the webplayer working and we also fixed a few bugs which where disabling some of the online features. But alas now you can enjoy the full content of our game. Have fun. :)

Star Tycoons by MechanicMoon 2014-08-27T13:26:00

I played the game till i reach 25o k moneyunits and achieved all outposts. It's a solid experience. I miss some kind of enema or opponent though - I liked that the prices of buys and sells did vary quite a bit - but in the end my ships were always able to make profits. Graphics and Sound both were not AMAZING but fitted the game pretty well. However the game seems pretty finished and polished for an 72 hour competitiongame - i tap my hat. :)

The Vast by Unravel Games 2014-08-26T10:04:00

The game is rather selfplaying - I miss a little more Interaction/Control about what's happening.
The Narrationszenes were nice though - although I think I shot myself in the leg by reading them and not simply activating hyperdrive while I had this many settlers with me.

Link by hundredhundred 2014-08-27T11:53:00

Wow - awesome entry.
That gameplay is addicting. So simple - so good.
Nice graphics - although the map could have used some more different tiles. The characters looked pretty funny. I liked them + the soundtrack is ace. Nice job - well done.

Link by hundredhundred 2014-08-27T11:54:00

My Highscore was 56 btw. :)

Northlonde by Martins 2014-08-26T18:18:00

I like your game. Especially in gamejams most games are a little harder than it's fair - but in northlonde even if i was weary if i was doing the right thing the game didn't immediatly bit my arse. It may be due to the lack of sleep but something about the relaxed pace of this game really appealed to me. However now I have succesfully cluttered the screen with factories and are closing in on 2oo k profits. Well - when I read the description again I guess that makes me the loser then, right? Nice graphics and mood too!

Ex-Fraktion by Robotic 2014-08-26T09:49:00

pretty awesome

LD35 — Shapeshift

Infinity Access by Hyoga-3D 2016-04-19T13:29:00

i liked the basic idea of the game but the gameplay didnt applied to me, one time i was killed by protesting but i didnt understood why this happened

wolf and the moon by zillix 2016-04-20T07:57:00

Great title. As many commenters already said: the mood is astounding. The small little god-story is pretty neat and very well written. Graphics are on point and the music is amazing. I had some trouble figuring out how to get the pepper to wolfs tongue, because I was getting hit all the time and thus thought I was trying the wrong thing. Something like throwing the torch in an arc would've made things easier. However I liked that little puzzle-solving aspect. :)

LycanQuest by mactinite 2016-04-20T14:36:00

Nice graphics and solid platformer, the music reminded me on a game about robin hood i played on the nes back in the old days

Temple Shifters by sftrabbit 2016-04-20T08:50:00

Phew, I got to the end. The Phases I went through: "A Puzzler! Neato!"
"Man... I think this is to easy"
"Oh hey - that's a nice twist"
"HOW DO YOU SOLVE THIS?!"
"Alright I'm getting the hang of it"
"Oh no... will I be able to finish this? How could I dare to comment otherwise? ;__;"
"Wait... it's over? Kewl. :D"

The mechanics are simple, yet lead to complex puzzles - that's a nice feat to achieve. I liked your game very much. Although you probably spend too much time on the earlier levels and then lacked time for later ones. As the game ends after having introduced several new mechanics which where explorered only once or twice. It's an awesome game, but for it's length it would've probably been better to cut some of the early levels to get faster to the shapeshifting. However when the player get's there the shapeshifting-theme is quite present and imo very well interpreted. I liked it! Want more of it! :D

Amoebattles by LevelUpJordan 2016-04-20T14:43:00

Nice shooter, really cool playercharacter design and well matching the theme

Doodle Book Survival by CarlsonAndPeeters 2016-04-20T05:51:00

Liked the graphics and the concept of the game

CHORUS by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2016-04-19T11:59:00

Great song and the hard difficulty for me was really hard to master, would be nice to see the game with other tracks sometime.

Fugitive Shift by PowerSpark 2016-04-20T08:31:00

I cry so much. I just have failed for about 10 minutes to get mirage to shapeshift into one of the guards. I found the one guard who got green highlights on mousehover however I clicked every mousebutton to no avail. Tried it with mirage selected and without. Guess there's a bug? Or he can't shapeshift if a wall is in the way? But how do I open the green door then? Wha! Anyways - super cool game. I'm kind of a sucker for cellshading-lowpoly games - so this entry really struck a note. :) Also the control theme was quite nice. Definetely a game which demands a little more time then your regular LD-Entry. I liked it and was sad to give up on completing it. Despite that quite the amazing amount of polish and content (I presume!)

Shapeshifting Sorcery by foxroxracer 2016-04-19T14:22:00

Liked the enemy designs

Aeons Rest by Fumiko 2016-04-19T12:41:00

You need to kill all the great blue spearwielding enemies of each level, after you killed them you have to return to the shrine in the center of the level so the next one can be spawned

Aeons Rest by Fumiko 2016-04-19T13:30:00

Wow, guys! Thank you so much for all the feedback!

We uploaded a bugfix version of the linux, mac and windows builds. Mainly because our credits scene wasn't shown because the scene was not linked properly. :D

Also I just added the WebGL build, so feel free to play on this page! The native versions have cloth simulation, though, so check them out as well. :)

best greetings

Aeons Rest by Fumiko 2016-04-24T17:34:00

Shapeshifter X - Ressurection - Return of Zyglox 4K by homeworld 2016-04-21T12:49:00

Wow really cool game, nice implementation of the theme and cool special effects. Like it.

Labyrinth by milgar 2016-04-19T11:51:00

Sorry to hear you couldnt finish the game.
I really liked the wall textures and would have liked to sneak through the rooms to avoid enemy horrors.

Shift that Shape! by Lagoe 2016-04-19T12:07:00

Made me think about my children while I was in the office =)
Really liked the visuals of the game

Really nice puzzles and matching the theme very well

Drift Shift by Bailman03 2016-04-19T13:19:00

nice graphics and the driving part felt good; didnt liked that changing the gears was only possible using the 1-4 keys as i steered using wasd and couldnt use both at the same time

Great idea concerning the theme, also liked the intro

Hart of the Forest by adsilcott 2016-04-19T08:52:00

The graphics are beautiful for a jam game. I really like the animal meshes. Even with the lack of gameplay the game gets its message through - I think it would've been a very enjoyable experience, if finished. Still well done. :)

Crush Your Friends by nextreality 2016-04-20T06:15:00

love the sprites and had a lot of fun playing the game with a friend

Rageshifter by Dread_Lord369 2016-04-20T07:41:00

Super fun game. Played it a couple of times and had a good time with it. The sword is really satisfying to use and in my opinion outshines the ragehammers completely ( I got my ass handed to me while enraged. :D) + It's kinda surprising how similar our concepts are and yet different the games turned out. Also choice in music and the graphics are QUITE solid. Good work!

DroneWatch by zzapp 2016-04-20T15:24:00

Liked the low poly town and basic idea of the game

Henkan Pachinko by AnaGF 2016-04-19T14:20:00

I like the background texture, really nice

Groad by saucygames 2016-04-20T09:04:00

Got two the second Boss and sadly gave up then. Superbuffs art was super buff. I liked that guy. I know ma Souls. I get this! However the unpredictable nature of the hitboxes really had me relying on spit like a mageuser scum. I guess you were going with Isaac-like transformations and a only boss-slaying gameplay. Which sounds super cool to me! If only the controls were a little tighter, the bosses HP a little lower I'd see me playing this til the last drop of content. As it stands I like the concept very much - and if it ever were to be a finished and polished game I'd spend some bucks on a steam version. :)

PacShifter by jcmonkey 2016-04-19T13:15:00

was some time since i played pacman, nice game, some funny levels.

FTWL by ooku 2016-04-19T13:40:00

I really liked the mood of this game and that you took both the LD Theme and the constraints of the low res jam.

Really nice artwork and music.
Liked the game play and feel also.
Really great result.

Exhuman by Arvydas 2016-04-19T12:50:00

Liked the graphics a lot but sadly i couldnt adjust to the player moving relative to himself instead of the camera

Bloodbearer by emielboven 2016-04-20T14:15:00

very moody title, had fun playing through the levels

Thinking with shapeshifts - altar boy rescuer by Paskal007r 2016-04-20T18:07:00

I liked the faces and how they changed based on your speed

Cult Quest by solkar 2016-04-20T07:27:00

Nice little game, with amazing work put into it to create a mood. I really dig the soundtrack and art. From a gamedesign standpoint I soley would wish for a way to win your game and have something like a progress-meter. Also I think I found a visual glitch. I was playing the 720p Version of the game and was chased by a giant blue square! D: http://imgur.com/R4z3Wj0
