make a web version, it will spare peoples time and more people will play

komjaur 2014-08-24 17:29

made web version

myougahiroshi 2014-08-24 18:37

I've played antichamber, but can't get through the eye xD I played that game very long time ago, and I'm not patient yet, but seems nice game

geckoo1337 2014-08-24 21:31

It's your first contribution for LD. Bravo. But it seems to me you don't know the rules - my friend. If you share a "48 Hour Compo Entry" you MUST share the sources too. See the rules. It's not a criticisme - I like your game, but rules work for all of us ++

miziziziz 2014-08-24 21:35

pretty nice imitation of antichamber.
Is there more after the eye, though? like, I looked at it, then the passage opens behind me; i go in the passage and go around and end up at the eye again. I tried going counterclockwise and clockwise and still end up in the same spot.

phasebeta 2014-08-24 21:36

I found the ending.

lacaranian 2014-08-24 21:42

Got to the colored hallways - very nice use of Antichamber style logic, if a bit repetitive

sprawl 2014-08-24 22:07

Pretty good replication of some of the mecanics.

I dont see how someone would pass the eye part without having played antichamber since there's no animation on it.

Also, I suggest you try and give a better name to your game next Ludum Dare.

Good job again on your first LD!

komjaur 2014-08-24 23:29

Updated little bit and added source

myougahiroshi 2014-08-25 07:47

sprawl : thanks, you reminded me how to get through the eye :D really, it was easier in the antichamber, but this game is still very cool

yodamaster 2014-08-25 10:37

Nice basis for a maze-exploration game. I like the background sounds.

linuus 2014-08-25 10:37

Some fun, solid gameplay here. Well done.

xgeovanni 2014-08-25 10:39

So I read the name "Like Antichamber" and rushed to play it. Then I remembered I was on Linux.

I'll play it later.

ahmedmohi 2014-08-25 10:40

Good game like the similarity with anti chamber .
I would it if it's alittle bit more sensitive to the mouse it get's messy with me sometimes :D

gamedevextreme 2014-08-25 10:40

is the eye the end?

luismb55 2014-08-25 10:42

I like the Antichamber and also the Like the Antichamber. Good job!

tautnerve 2014-08-25 10:42

Possibly there is some sort of glitch in the web version, after the 'COME BACK' part when falling down the pit my screen tinted and the game was stuck. I enjoyed it while it lasted though, I really liked Antichamber and this is a nice tribute

gwa 2014-08-25 10:45

very nice dont know if the blue screen after solving the come back ridle is the end but I take it as the end :)

camilleh 2014-08-25 10:46

I haven't played Antichamber before, so I found this challenging and fun. It's a very cool concept. This does look quite similar to Antichamber though (and the name confirms that), would be even better if you added your own flavour to it :)

maek 2014-08-25 10:56

Intresting!!!

komjaur 2014-08-25 11:09

fixed bug

split82 2014-08-25 13:53

Definitely antichamber like feel :)

snooze82 2014-08-25 14:21

nice antichamber like game

slooowpoke 2014-08-25 14:25

Trippy game. I enjoyed the non euclidean (is that the word?) gameplay. Confused me several times and I'm not sure if it was because I was doing it wrong or whether it was bugging out. Good game, would go well with some music and more content. Congratulations on it being you're first LD entry, mine was so much worse than this. Nice one!

theexgenesis 2014-08-25 14:25

I can't get past the "come back", but the non euclidian room with the pillar in the middle is overused, I found it kinda repetitive

robinerd 2014-08-25 15:03

I adore antichamber and have played through it all. You did a really good job in capturing the fun from antichamber and putting a new touch. Well done implementing this, from a technical point of view, very non-trivial I would say.

Yes, I found the exit! The eye really had me for a long time, and to anyone how couldn't get past, my hint is to really consider what the sign on the wall says before rushing around. The other puzzles were clever and took some tries but I had them easier since I played antichamber a lot.

Graphics like antichamber. Some doors popping visible when in the view, but I can bear with you - even the original anti chamber sometimes had these problems.

Audio did it's job in a simplistic way. Kind of bad looping, but still good.

Theme connection was a bit weak, although you have the connections between "chambers" I wouldn't really call them worlds.

Overall, most fun game I played so far, and I really hope you will find the passion to develop more puzzles for this.

robinerd 2014-08-25 15:19

@TheExGenesis I also thought the euclidian room was overused, until I realized it's because I'm running around in circles. The comeback puzzle is different.

@komjaur I would really support you if you would extend this with more types of puzzles. If you can think of puzzles which are different from antichamber but still keeps the same feeling, it would be a great way of making this game more unique. That would be legendary!

komjaur 2014-08-25 15:29

euclidian room is like death in games, when you die you start over but here you go back to the beginning.

dadman 2014-08-25 15:34

... Kind of just makes me want to go play antichamber. It is impressive you managed to do all the things they did though, I still have no idea how that works!

techblogogy 2014-08-25 15:41

Pretty good. Does feel a bit like antichamber.

makio 2014-08-25 16:07

Nice ! remember me a lot a friend game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G08WP2EUvU0 with some difference in the universe / mecanic and more step by step instruction, i love it :)

drmelon 2014-08-25 16:13

A little rough around the edges, but a very good Antichamber-like game! Non-euclidean puzzlers are the best!

jsmars 2014-08-25 16:16

Abit too much like antichamber, would be fun if there was something new

berail 2014-08-25 16:19

I remember other game like this but don't remeber name :D (Probably that antichamber:D) Still really hard and tricky i like it :D!

andreblyth 2014-08-25 16:43

Good on ya for an ambitious 3d project.

crneumre 2014-08-25 17:07

Awesome work i enjoyed antichamber and enjoyed this too.
Got to the end : )

laralyn 2014-08-25 17:25

Fun game! For the web version, it would help if you locked the cursor. Good work for such a short time period!

naytron 2014-08-25 17:30

Would be nice if there was a restart button so you didn't have to refresh the web page when you got to a dead end.

Found the end and enjoyed exploring. Short but satisfying.

donar 2014-08-25 17:40

The Mouse won't stay in the game window ... made it horrible to play. Even on fullscreen I was fucked by my dual monitor setup.

The game pretty much looks like AntiChamber but I don't think it feels like AntiChamber. Maybe I was too stupid to progress but I always ended up in similar rooms with different colors and went then back the the eye. Turning around just cought me in an infinite loop.

I wasn't able to finish and after like 8 colors I stopped, because of the mouse cursor issue. Looks fine but isn't really innovative, since it's an attempt to rebuild another game (on a smaller scale).

kyyrma 2014-08-25 18:03

I ended up doing a lot of loops before I stopped. Really cool stuff, although the part with having to stare at the eye gets a bit annoying. Haven't played Antichamber, but having seen screens of it you seem to have gotten the name right for this game ;-)

Seconding the problem with cursor not locking in the game screen in the webplayer.

komjaur 2014-08-25 18:43

fixed mouse issue and eye is not end

fonserbc 2014-08-25 19:53

I wouldn't have waited long enough never If I hadn't read the instructions :P

Nice recreation of antichamber!

superpokeunicorn 2014-08-25 21:43

Found the ending. Very tricky.

Nacho 2014-08-25 21:54

Controls were clunky and slow. Puzzles were basically ripped straight from Antichamber. There was a washing machine going in the background the whole time, for... some reason.

"Like Antchamber", but less charming, less clever, less mind-bending, and less original.

off 2014-08-25 21:57

The ending was tricky!

Great copy of a game that i loved there is still some visual bug, but the transition are mostly perfect. It's not original but your level could be passed like that inside AntiChamber.

Thanks for the hint! ;)

owyoow 2014-08-25 22:35

Nicely done. I found the ending. Took me a while tho. Fun game

haveric 2014-08-25 22:45

Definitely seems like a less polished version of antichamber at first, but seemed to get repetitive with no guidance on how to solve a few things. Not bad for 48 hours though.

onlyslightly 2014-08-25 23:15

I really liked how the puzzles were riddles. And the minimalist style. Great job!

trickfishpie 2014-08-25 23:23

Liked the idea...felt a bit too trial and error rather than being driven by riddles. Top effort though

powerspark 2014-08-26 00:46

I want to kill that freaking EYE

imdigitaljim 2014-08-26 00:59

I did something around the eye and it broke! I like the start though!

nikki93 2014-08-26 01:42

Nice game! Some times unclear what to do but I guess that's part of it. Also often the puzzle is given away cuz of seams in the walls.

meganopteryx 2014-08-26 01:54

AAAAA I can't escape the infinite loops! Nice tribute to Antichamber.

kunonooni 2014-08-26 01:57

never played Antichamber. interesting game.

fortyseven 2014-08-26 03:38

Found the ending! ;) Damned fine replica of Anitchamber. Great work. :D

mramaizng 2014-08-26 04:05

Great recreatation of Antichamber.

resonious 2014-08-26 04:24

Pretty neat.

r0x0r 2014-08-26 07:06

could you make a build for linux?

hazzahazzam 2014-08-26 07:47

Eye needed an animation, good imitation of antichamber though.

technowolf99 2014-08-26 14:52

Not bad! It took me a while to find the ending though. lol

syawqy 2014-08-26 16:32

I'm confused...

last-man-standing 2014-08-26 16:37

Pretty cool. Definitely like antichamber

xgeovanni 2014-08-26 17:36

I said I would be back, so here I am.

I got to the ending. Pretty nice game, really captures the ambiance of the original Antichamber. Breaking out of the "Unity look" is always great.

But damn it, that last comment was supposed to be a hint to make a Linux build.

komjaur 2014-08-26 18:02

Made linux and mac build but i have no idea if they work.
if anyone can confirm if they work please comment.

lissar 2014-08-26 20:00

I clicked because I thought it looked rather like Antichamber, though I think maybe this was a bit TOO much like Antichamber! Still, nice effort.

capitals 2014-08-26 20:24

Fun and enjoyable. But it seems like I am not patient enough. I enjoyed anti-chamber a lot, btw.

aortastudios 2014-08-26 20:40

very interesting! I love antichamber and using it as your inspiration has definitely helped! Nice entry

raysandlazors 2014-08-26 22:48

Found the spinning ending thing, just saying :P

randomnamegenerator 2014-08-27 05:20

I have no idea how I found the ending but I did. Very cool. Reminds me of myst or something.

ob6160 2014-08-27 09:27

Good game, a little repetitive.

fumiko 2014-08-27 11:45

Well yeah - i like antichamber a lot myself - however i'd wish for a bit more diversity to the original. It feels more like a my bestof of antichamber. However - nice take on the theme in any way. And it IS pretty true to the original. :)

mekuri 2014-08-27 12:20

I didn't get through to the end, but I did get through a lot of different colored hallways.
I like the idea, it was a bit repetitive though (But I might have been doing something wrong) - I loved the background sound it added a nice feel to the game.

jaucheman 2014-08-27 13:06

Nice game, but should it be possible to walk trough the wall in front of the eye? Because if you look straight at the eye and keep walking backwards you will glitch trough the wall

komjaur 2014-08-27 13:24

komjaur 2014-08-27 13:25

if you look eye long enough the eye will just disappear

bytegrove 2014-08-27 15:33

Interseting concept, but I don't think I really "got" it. I kept getting stuck in the blue room and got back to the white eye all the time. Nice work on the mood though, quite creepy!

43iscoding 2014-08-27 22:23

Interesting yet veeery creepy game!

akirassasin 2014-08-27 23:42

I don't understand the "come back" part... haha I got caught up in the loop. W seems buggy because after I go through the eye a few times I automatically go forward even when I'm not pressing W.

mechanicmoon 2014-08-28 00:30

Wow! Really nice the gameplay and the ''logic'' way

troyatkinson 2014-08-28 00:55

Nice little puzzle game, couldn't get very far but I'm gonna try again tomorrow when I'm not so tired. Enjoying it so far!

makatak 2014-08-28 02:44

Kinda creepy (good thing), but it was always hard to figure out how to progress and I got stuck :(

georgebroussard 2014-08-28 05:46

Liked it. Got to the ending. Pretty good puzzles, overall. Nice job for 48 hours for sure.

rhy3756547 2014-08-28 16:02

Reminds me a lot of antichamber - but I feel the eye puzzle was a bit more confusing than it should have been. Nice work though - would have been great to see the game become a bit longer!

lokarunith 2014-08-28 21:37

Very cool, I got to the ending, how? I was playing while chatting on facebook, one time I changed tabs and I moved the camera randomly, when I came back I was looking at sign I've never seen before, the rest was easy.

I tried it a second time and managed to understand what I was supposed to do, but if it wasn't for chance, i'd still be running in loops right now.

mechabit 2014-08-28 22:19

cool game

ninjascript 2014-08-29 14:53

Interesting concept! I never played antichamber but after this I might have to check it out. I like you use of environmental sounds.

Also, I found the ending.

jukimv1986 2014-08-29 18:23

I have played Antichamber before until its end and this game really remind me of the experience. Very well done, I am really interested in knowing how you achieved it. Maybe try to lower the amount of time it takes for the eye thing, you know ;) but very well done! amazing considering that was your first entry ever!!

sftrabbit 2014-08-30 13:14

It was interesting, but yes, very similar to antichamber. I have a couple of notes: sometimes the trick you're using to reveal the exist is very noticable (I'm pretty sure in antichamber they actually use world portals to the different areas); and I still didn't figure out what the meaning of the eye puzzle was, but just by looking back and forth I got it to work.

dickpoelen 2014-08-30 15:37

Cool. Never played antichamber, so this was new.

dancingmad 2014-08-31 21:30

I found the ending :p

Nice game, very like Antichamber.

tchem 2014-09-01 00:32

nice!!!

andymar 2014-09-01 15:19

Congrats on your first LD... It's always the trickiest.

komjaur 2014-09-01 16:44

:D

swich 2014-09-02 10:32

Nice Antichamber clone! Is there any connection to the "connected worlds" theme?

nesis 2014-09-02 12:32

Crazy mind-bending game. Good imitation of Antichamber.

maesk 2014-09-02 13:18

Great concept and visuals. I found myself getting lost, and going back to the beginning :D

komjaur 2014-09-02 15:02

swich
yes there is.

entropyofchaos 2014-09-03 06:55

Finally beat it... cool little game.

flannelvindicate 2014-09-04 16:03

You are in todays episode of Ludum Dare to Believe! Check it out! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6HuW2Ag0sA

jedi 2014-09-04 17:39

I found the end! If I didn't see the comments here first though, I'd have assumed I'd seen all there was too see. Pretty cool puzzle game! Unfortunately I don't know how much of it was original and how much was inspired by Antichamber because I've never played it.

Staring at that eye sucked a lot of the fun out.

I believe you could fix some of the graphical glitches by moving vertices of walls instead of changing the visibility of wall sections. Still, it was cool to see that you made Unity behave as if it was non-Euclidean! Kudos!

klianc09 2014-09-07 10:01

I'm posting a comment, because the game told me to.

It really is a lot like antichamber, that is good, because antichamber is good, but it is also bad, because it doesn't feel original. Still, judged on its own merit it isn't bad.

The ambient music is not really fitting, but it also doesn't distract too much so it's okay.

Walking backwards helped a lot with most of the puzzles (and I think caused some glitches).

komjaur 2014-09-07 19:34

@klianc09 if didnt fell into the endless void then everything went alright. :D

dohan 2014-09-09 16:49

It's always interesting to explore a non-euclidean labyrinth. The Antichamber vibe is very obvious, but I'm not sure what triggers the eye here, I just kept pushing the wall with my back until it allowed me to pass through.

Also, http://i.imgur.com/rA31vSU.png

komjaur 2014-09-10 01:54

Little secrets:
*eye is not like it was in antichamber. If u look it 5 second then loop room door opens and if u look it 10 second then other door opens.
* Don't go to colored rooms

apiotrw 2014-09-13 15:59

Could be more

kirbytails7 2014-09-15 04:59

Pretty nice, if just a subset of Antichamber concepts/puzzles.

macocco 2014-09-15 16:39

Nice game! You can clearly see where you took the idea from. Also there where a few graphical bugs. I found the eye thing to be breaking the pace a lot (Half of the time would have been enough. Btw I got to the ending.

alexfili 2014-09-15 18:41

While the game is a bit confusing it is actually very fun and has some great uses of the first person camera angle. A very enjoyable game through and through
