This is a strange game but a brilliant idea. The visuals are really nice and the controls are strange in that other-worldly type way. Brilliant start to a very cool concept!

This is a strange game but a brilliant idea. The visuals are really nice and the controls are strange in that other-worldly type way. Brilliant start to a very cool concept!
Quite a nice game. It's a little bit slow but graphically it is nice and if you like it, you'll sink a LOT of time into games like this. Brilliant effort from the developers here
Found that I really enjoyed the music. I kept singing "honnies got the monnies" etc. Great innovative gameplay mixed with a cute visual style. Overall a fantastic LD entry!
Love this game. I got stuck on stage 2 but I really love the power ups, especially the 'trippy trippy trippy party mode' I got when I ate the flower (don't know the item name but it was hilarious all the same)
The gameplay is a bit mindless but I've seen mobile games not as good as this selling for a few pounds, so having this as a free game is a pretty good deal. I do like the art style and the quirky sense of humour. One of the most fun LD games I've played
This game is a bit tricky to understand but is a lot of fun, could do with a few more instructions and a bigger gameplay area the characters can move around in.
Really clever and overall a very funny game. You did a good job of mixing your franchises together, a very eclectic mix!
Whoa. My jaw has hit the floor. The graphics are top notch, the audio is just one of the best pieces of game music I have ever heard. The concept has been done before but never this well executed on the Ludum Dare stage. Well done to you, superb work!
This game is so innovative. I love the fact that any mistakes you make on 1 and 2 have a big effect on stage 3. As far as I know, any asteroids on stage 3 will stay there so there's a really big incentive to not make any errors. Simply brilliant!
I loved this! It reminded me strongly of Swords and Soldiers. The unit selection was nice. The Golem creature was expensive but you can see why when you deploy it! The AI really ramps up so make sure you attack fast and hard! Great game and one of the most enjoyable LD games I have played
Incredible graphics, this is by far one of the best looking LD games. It's quite hard and challenging (like QWOP) but very very fun. More like this please
Very cool, especially the checkerboard 3D effect. Would be nice if it was a bit clearer on what you were meant to do and what items you need. Smashing idea!
Quite cool, I don't know why the guards shoot me when I'm disguised as a human and panicking. It was really fun to play and well made
The style was good but the collision detection was pretty harsh. You also could not flip in mid air which made it a bit trickier to navigate. Great idea though!
After reading what the game was about I understand the concept. It was pretty fun but can get boring while you wait for things to happen (the time fast-forwarding is a great feature!)
Pretty hard game to get your head around, but it plays well and looks quite nice!
I was very impressed with this. The concept is good and the business tactics come into force here. The only problem is once you get started it becomes a bit too easy. If there was a supply/demand function going on it would mean a lot for the long term quality of the game. Brilliant attempt at a strategy game, looking forward to more like this
Awesome graphics. The concept of the game is great and it really requires a lot of precision. It's pretty hard though and could do with a less steep difficulty curve. Amazing effort though
This game is brilliant. I love the biology lesson mixed with a fun concept. While it is quite easy and simple it does have some interesting mechanics that set it apart from most games. Would love to see an improved version of this!
I love it, very good use of the card game mechanic and overall a brilliant retro graphical style. Would love to see this as a finished game somewhere.
Quite tricky but it really does feel like an older game. Brilliant job and please do make more games like this in the future!
The dog is well animated and the graphics are nice. If it's a nice normal day, I don't know why there would be bombs dropping down but overall this is a good game and appealing in many ways.
Great visuals and interesting concept. The gameplay is good but it moves quite fast so it's hard to stay alive!
This game is entertaining and does a good job of replicating the movement of worms. It would be even better with other insects or some moving objects in the background. Brilliant entry to this ludum dare and matches the theme well
Interesting idea, reminds me a lot of MinerVGA. I think two player games can be unbelievably fun if you're got a competitive friend
A very clever game, I like the staged gameplay where you emerge gradually. It becomes pretty hard to avoid the hazards later but I like this game a lot.
This game is one of the better Ludum Dare games this year. The graphics are very evocative of the Amiga/Commodore era and the sound effects bring you back in time. The mechanics work well and bar a few enemy AI issues the game is very well made indeed.
Funky controls, seem like an interesting idea
Pretty clever, you have to be careful where you put the platforms and which rocks you leave behind so they don't crush you
Needs a bit of extra work but the concept is good and I like the story behind it!
Quite simple but also a lot of fun. I like the coffee drinking animation and how it has an effect on the gameplay. Nice stuff!
Very fun. It reminds me of tremors. Remember players: If you walk without rhythm you won't attract the worm!
Great intro, the gameplay is nice and the hard work to break stone is a good metaphor for the real act of mining
Reminds me of Dexter. The camera is a bit too close so it's hard to see where the cops are. Pretty good concept
Lovely music. It's like a cool mix of Bubble Bobble and Proteus in terms of visuals... brilliant!
Very much like Hotline Miami but even more violent and rather raunchy at that. Pretty innovative and good effort considering the time restrictions of the contest!
Pretty cool, reminds me of the minigame in Mario Party where you dig for treasure
Interesting concept but the controls could use a bit of work. I do like the idea though and the gameplay is pretty cool!
This is a bit like brain training. I liked the letter one the most. The number ones are hard unless you have a calculated.
A bit too easy but a really fun game. I like the artwork, concept and characters. Any kind of puns just win me over really easily
Pretty hard and the jetpack is really ineffective. Great concept though and quite funny!
Strange game, took me a while to learn what the % was for. It's like % of encountering danger. Good concept though
A bit too easy and the pistol is very overpowered. Overall though good effort and nice use of pixel graphics
This game is really difficult. Interesting theme though and best of luck in future LD contests.
A bit too overly simple really. Decent concept and could work better with more practice and better graphics.
Quiet a sad game but well done. I often make games like this but it's good to see some interesting changes. The interface could be more helpful but overall a good effort.
Hah this is pretty fun. Great graphics and interesting plot. I liked it a lot.
Playing as the Cormano is way too easy. Playing as the Ninja is almost impossible due to the number of enemies. It's reasonably fun and I love the graphics.
Pretty clever. I actually enjoyed this a great deal despite the simple gameplay.
Could be fun but it's a bit unfinished in it's current state. Gameplay is pretty much trial and error
Pretty fun. I like the randomised levels and the enemies behave in funny ways. Great retro enjoyment!
A great idea, even if the combat is a bit wonky. Look forward to more like this in the future!
Pretty good concept. The game doesn't actually end when it says Wasted. Also you can get stuck on the edge of the screen, pretty fun though.
I managed to win by buying the cheapest poster even though I didn't have any money. Pretty interesting though, I like the idea this game is exploring. Keep it up!
Definitely an interesting start. The audio was pretty funny but overall the game could use a bit of polish to make it truly great
Overall seems well-made. The combat is fun although the control bindings aren't perfect (it set fire to being the start button on my 360 pad)
This is great. While the choices are limited and the linearity becomes very obvious during a second playthrough the story and dialogue is funny enough to carry it for that premise. Looking forward to more games like this.
The graphics in this game go along well with the game's story. It's one of the most compelling RTS examples on this site. I like that each unit has their own speed and way of moving. Pathfinding seems good and the mechanics are easy to pick up but allow for advanced tactics.
There are a few areas of the game that could be improved. You have to be extremely precise with the mouse cursor in order to deal with the wolves, if you're not clicking on their exact spot then they won't be destroyed. The flames seem more like what you expect in an oil tank rupture rather than a forest fire.
Other than that, this is a brilliant game and fits the theme pretty well! Good work
Unfortunately this would not launch on my computer. It attempts to run but then just closes itself.
Strange game, I like the visual style and the audio is nice. I also found it awesome that you could hit things during the period when the ball moves downwards. Kind of like a boomerang :D
I'm glad this game doesn't have smellovision. Quite innovative, nice graphical style and overall it's a fun quirky game! Show it off to your friends :D
Great concept. A little bit of polish on the graphical side would have made a lot of difference, along with some clear visual indicators and sound effects. This is pretty fun though and the missions and upgrades help keep it interesting.
This is a funny concept. The intro is a nice touch and overall the gameplay is fun. The animation on the character is a bit wonky and it starts off a bit too easy. The music doesn't quite loop properly and there's also the issue of burritos overlapping. This is a good attempt and I hope you keep up with these funny game concepts
The graphical style is really good and the idea for the game is great. I would say that it's quite a difficult game and there's a lot of trial and error. There is quite a lot of confusion and misdirection on the part of the suspects which keeps it interesting. Very fun and challenging game!
Very nice collaborative effort. Could be great if this was made into an arcade style game with a difficulty that increases after each victory. Great style, good music and sounds. Overall a fantastic idea (Brilliant game title too).
This is very innovative and creative. It's a bit tricky to tell what will happen, would be good if you could see a 'ghost' of what your dragon would be doing depending on your actions (or like a line which shows where your dragon will go). Good use of the theme and very different to all the other games here.
Great music. The actual gameplay is interesting. The AI patrols are a bit annoying but they do have a pattern. The slow motion ability didn't really have a lot of use, but it's definitely nice to have. Good attempt and nice use of the theme.
This is strangely addictive. I managed to get an army of 700+ soldiers by the end and wiped the map clean. Overall it's a brilliant idea and so far it's the best Risk type game I've played in quite a while. Great concept, would love to see this fleshed out into something even better!
I can see what you were aiming for in terms of gameplay, but there are certain things that hold it down. The lack of audio is noticeable and the movement of the character takes some getting used to. There's a small gap in time when holding forward/backward until you start moving. It's little things but they really do make a lot of difference. Overall though good effort and the idea is a good one.
Not bad for a start but could definitely use some work. The graphics are the weakest part of the game, but otherwise it's an idea that's executed fairly well. Good effort
It's really tough but this RTS is strangely addictive. With a bit of polish I could really see this game as something you'd find in a store. Brilliant game!
This is awesome. There's a great retro feel to the game and the artwork is really nice. It's definitely pretty tricky but a challenging game! Keep it up :)
Great excuse to get some friends to test a game with you. It's well done, has good graphics and is mostly lag-free. Brilliant idea, hope to see more multiplayer LD games in the future!
Pretty fun little game. With a bit of polish I could see this being on Steam or Android devices.
This game is like an interesting mix between Zelda and Metroid. I like the fact that you have to experiment for a while before you understand what you're meant to do. The 'bravery' bar was quite a good idea and I liked breaking down the walls with the gauntlet. Overall a great game and definitely a lot of fun
The randomised levels make it interesting and challenging. The impossible levels are bound to furiate some but it's quite an interesting concept and I'd like to see more games like this in the future!
Seems like a fairly enjoyable Tower Defense game. The way the creeps move is quite cool and I like the variety of things you can build. Overall a pretty good game
Overall the game was well made. It's interesting to make different choices and see what happens. A text-based game is a good idea and suits the story well. There could perhaps be more descriptions of things like the train itself and what the people looked like. Once you've played it once it becomes quite obvious to see what would happen if you made certain choices. The graphics and audio could do with some work in order to match the quality of the dialogue. A great piece of interactive fiction.
The game looks quite simple but actually has a lot of complexity buried within. The different upgrades offer the player different ways of building up their character and the enemies are quite varied in terms of AI and attacks.
I love the random facts and the 'ow' noise that the enemies make when they are shot. Definitely one of my favourite Ludum Dare games. Brilliant job!
Fantastic, there is a lot to see here and it's clearly a game that rewards the player for investing with time. Brilliant job with this, can't wait to see more!
Great soundtrack and great game. The story doesn't really match the game though in my opinion, but very addictive gameplay!
Very short but an interesting idea. Please make a longer game next time!
Very good game but it's so hard. The collision detection is pixel by pixel and that can be very frustrating. Nice animation and good graphics overall.
Good game but really hard. Takes some practice but overall is a very fun game.
Very interesting concept, looks fantastic. Difficulty seems to have been tested well. Was expecting something shocking when the heart's health was zero but overall a very good entry.
The game has some great ideals but the implementation is a bit flunky. Good job for making the randomness important.
I can see what you were trying to do, but it's not quite as fun as I thought it would be. It's a too basic but also the zombies are too smart and can see through your invisibility too fast.
It's an interesting game since it focuses on these "Hoarder" programs that are on the television now. It's not very fun though, looks great but is a bit tough to move through the menus etc.
Nice graphics, 'easy' mode still seems hard to me.
This is great. It's like a mix between Guitar Hero and Alter Ego. It's a bit unclear what you're meant to do at first but I like the idea of choice and juggling life's problems.
The music was pretty good. The graphics were nice and the overall gameplay is definitely thought provoking. I thought it was maybe a little bit too simple and if it had a few extra gameplay mechanics it would be even better. Also the game didn't seem to get more difficult while you were playing, usually games start out easy and then get harder. Good work though.
Great game. I especially like the graphics and the humour. It's great to shoot potatoes and then collect them. It's a little hard, I only managed to survive to Wave 2. Great way of sticking to the theme and using the development tool to the best of your ability.
It was pretty fun but it wasn't clear enough which things you're meant to pick up and what you're meant to run away from
Didn't work for me. Ran it in Windows 7 but it kept crashing
I've also noticed the audio bug, overall the graphics are great and the sound is pretty nice. Killing enemies with K seems to be exceptionally hard. Would be better if it had an area of effect like Link's sword in Legend of Zelda.
I liked the music. The graphics were alright but more work could have been done on the backdrop to make it fit in better. Not sure if it was intentional but there's a gap of a few seconds when switching between normal and disco modes, it's a bit irritating since it stops the gameplay and interrupts the player. Overall though this is pretty fun.
It's a really hard game but it's also very fun. The graphics are great and the animations are nice for when the survivors start to get stressed. Would have liked a few more hints and tips but overall it's quite fun!
I like the use of multi-touch, it sets this game apart from the other Ludum Dare entries. The swapping of the axis was a clever feature and the flying collectables were randomised well. One issue I had was that it was tough to move my fingers too quickly or I would inadvertently let go and lose the game. I experienced some lag in the game but that is probably due to my phone's weedy processing power. Overall this is an enjoyable game that fits the theme well.
This is a great game but is held down by a few flaws. The placement of the buildings can be very troublesome at times, particularly if they are blocking the mothership. If humans stay in the buildings, then it's impossible to grab them, making the game a bit harder than it should be. There is some kind of bug where you hold down the space bar while on a building, it sounds like it's trying to activate the pickup script way too often.
The timer is strange, sometimes I have hardly any time, but other times, I have way too much time and end up just picking up everyone purely because I have nothing else to do.
I have to admit, I love the retro theme to this. If someone told me this was an arcade game I would believe them. If the claw was more flexible, that would be nice. But this is a fantastic game, brilliant work!
The animation of the arrows is great, and I like the way the units move. My main criticisms are the lack of instructions, no option to speed up the game or call waves early. It's a great little game though, good job :)
This is a fun game, but has a few little issues, when you reach the edge of the map you just go right through the side. It may not be entirely clear to the player what to do, such as 'kill the main enemy captain' rather than 'kill everything'. The graphics are nice but there is something missing overall, but otherwise this is an excellent game considering the time limit of the contest.
I like this game a lot, while it rates high in all the respective categories, there are some things I would change:
- It seems somewhat strange that you never see a pistol, I think you should at least be able to see a little black stick, or a the very least some kind of hidden blade like in Assassin's Creed
- The killer is a bit too trigger happy, as soon as one crowd disperses, he just kills someone else straight away. A little too unrealistic, he should hide a bit more.
- The crowd doesn't feel too real, maybe if some people were faster/slower or if some went clockwise and others went anti-clockwise.
Overall though, fantastic game. Definitely makes me want to make my next Ludum Dare project a Unity one.
I like the idea of playing against the hero, it's quite clever and matches the contest's theme well. It's a highly enjoyable game and equally as good as some of those anti-hero type games. Great job!
This game is very fun. The retro feel of it definitely suits it very well. Graphically it is very nice, wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being one of the most popular Ludum Dare 25 games, in terms of graphics. Gameplay-wise, it's not amazingly innovative but does things in a funny way. I like that at the end of each stage you get a stock market graph. Well done!
Funny little game. Good job with the music, the gameplay itself is what's letting the game down a bit.
Great game, a little short but still very fun. I like the graphics especially
This game is incredible. Nothing has made me laugh this much in a long time. Just the idea of throwing a bag over a bride and then the physics fun makes me chuckle every time. One of the best games I've played this year!
Wow, I like this very much. The only problem is that it gets a bit too easy later on when you've got the hang of it. If the enemy difficulty scaled more then it would be more of a challenge. Also need more monster types. But the system is great, please make a sequel!
Graphically it is nice, but the mechanics are a bit too predictable. Pretty fun though.
Seems okay, but this kind of game has been done a bit too much in the past. I like the concept and the goats, although I seem to get a 2 second delay where the game freezes while it loads the goat sound effect. Good attempt though!
Can't remember how far I managed to get, but I got a score of 57k. Overall this is a fun little game. It gets really hectic later on which is good, since people can't complain about the challenge. Shame about the lack of music but overall, it's fun!
Good game. If anything it's a little bit too hard, and it would be nice if there were multiple enemies, multiple levels etc. Overall though, it's fun and I like the audio.
Great little game. Seems a bit quiet though, lovely graphics and really fun and enjoyable!
Not sure if something's wrong, but I can't seem to do anything. There's no audio and I can't make zombies appear.
Rather fun game, but is pretty strict with the time limit. The level is hard to move around without ending up wasting time slowing down and turning etc. Overall though, great idea!
Seems like a decent game, the graphics and music are great. It takes quite a while for the laser to travel, and the target can be missed easily. The lack of explosion sound effects is a bit strange too. Overall though, fantastic idea!
LD33 — You are the Monster (21)
Dis-o-rder by squirrelbot 2015-09-05T12:05:00
While the quality of the writing is good the vocal quality needs to be slightly better, I also heard some microphone noises that should have been sorted out in the editing process. The gameplay itself is decent enough and I like the graphical style.
Embizzle by Norgg 2015-09-05T12:01:00
Quite a clever little game. This one definitely takes time for you to fully understand and get good at it. I like micro management and with a few more options and clearer goals this could be really good. I didn't feel like much of a villain though :)
I'm Just a Squid by kalthose 2015-09-05T11:58:00
Interesting idea that suits the theme well. It is quite repetitive and there should be an animation of the ship being destroyed rather than just vanishing. Not sure the tentacle design matches up with the design of the monster. Good idea though overall.
n8b cthulhu fhtagn by n8b 2015-09-05T11:56:00
A really good idea but the overall quality is a bit so-so. With sound and some in-game instructions I honestly think this could be quite good. The concept alone is worth a lot and you clearly care a lot about the backstory for this creation.
Beware the Kraken by HellBlazer 2015-09-05T11:53:00
Interesting tactical take on the whole 'monster attack' idea. I liked the idea of planning moves carefully but the soldiers always seemed to have the advantage. A great concept and one of the best this LD. Note: Play the non-web version or you will wince at the music getting corrupted (this shouldn't happen normally for web games!)
Monster System by freaknarf 2015-09-05T11:50:00
Enjoyable game. The only negatives I have to say are the repetitive gameplay and poor smoke effects. Everything else is really well done!
McTremson Bar by collaboration 2015-09-05T11:48:00
The art style was nice and in particular, the music was of high quality. I think the game world seems developed and the characters are interesting. Some parts are a bit repetitive perhaps but it is a very well made game.
Ewan Cowhig Croft by Wokeg 2015-09-05T11:07:00
Game ain't working!
Dario vs Bewzer by Njinwezen 2015-09-05T11:07:00
I know that AI is a bit awkward to program, but to be honest there isn't anything here that would be too demanding in terms of getting the game working with just one player. In fact you could even just let the AI try to beat each other. I like the style of the game and it's clearly trying to be just like a certain franchise (the mustache guy from that thing).
Oliver Knight by O.A.K 2015-09-05T11:03:00
A bit bare bones (pardon the pun) but I think the concept is a good one. It needs to have things like delays and combos in order to really get anywhere.
Tentacle Rescue : Summer of Love by Casper 2015-09-05T11:01:00
Not sure if it was just me but the controls seemed a bit buggy. I think the concept is interesting but the execution definitely needs work to get it polished for a public release
Competition Inside Monsterous Inc by MarelisGameDev 2015-09-05T10:58:00
Overall a fun little game, I liked the dialogue and the graphics. Could use a little work to make it more exciting but good attempt I thought.
No Credit, No Problem! by Razoric 2015-09-05T10:54:00
A very fun game. I got bored so started accepting everybody and then we had a run in with Mr Hugh... Overall really good game, clearly inspired by someone with a similar ideology and well executed!
Feed the Beast by klams 2015-09-05T10:48:00
Doesn't work now. Can anyone get a hold of the dev?
Fright Night by Grouflon 2015-09-05T10:45:00
The subject matter fits the theme quite well. The core mechanics are simple but the gameplay is fun enough to balance it out. I like the graphical style and overall this has potential to be a really great polished game.
Motherflipin' T-Rex! by mantis 2015-09-05T10:40:00
Easily one of the funniest (and brutal) games I've played on LD. The graphics are nice and the audio is pretty darned funny. I like the gameplay and the combo counter particularly makes it stand out from the crowd. Very well done indeed.
Meet the Monsta by Schrodinger Games 2015-09-05T10:37:00
Wow, incredible graphics... particularly good use of 2.5D style and the home-grown sound effects are pretty funny. Overall this is a fantastic game and easily one of the best this competition.
Free Hugs Kraken by crucknuk 2015-09-05T10:33:00
The overall theme is great and I particularly like the music. The graphics are serviceable besides the octopus but to be honest it doesn't look out of place. The core gameplay is funny but it's not that engaging to play. It gets repetitive very quickly as well. Great concept though!
The Cauldron of Humanity by Lashiz121 2015-09-05T10:27:00
This game reminds me of Swords and Soldiers. Overall it is a fun game but in my opinion it is not balanced very well. Certain purchases are relatively useless and you end up using the same ones time and time again. The enemy army difficulty ramps up quite quickly and it's a slow burner... but definitely a fun game!
Monster Chips by derugin.s 2015-09-05T10:21:00
While the game is far from finished, it does have some nice features to it. The animation isn't a full cycle so it does jump from one keyframe to the start of the animation which isn't smooth. The lightning effects are decent enough and with some effort this could be great. Didn't notice any of the garbage or other characters.
I'm a Monster Rawr! by bakakyo 2015-09-05T09:58:00
The art in this game is fantastic. I'm not quite sure if the concept is fully explained to the player before you start, maybe a little flashing arrow pointing to the citizens and the ambulance would help. I think the citizens should probably follow your last known position, so they don't get stuck between buildings. OVerall the gameplay is nice and the music is very cheerful and happy.
