Thanks, fixed it.
I'm not having this problem...You're supposed to move them to the right, BTW.
It was decent. I have to say, though, that the game needs a little more feedback. Like, have something flash when you repair a barrier, stuff like that, so the player knows if he/she's doing anything.
It was an interesting game. A nice concept, it greatly resembles Joust. However, I find the controls to be very stiff, and it's difficult to really change directions. I'm not sure if this was the intention. The graphics were pretty nice, if a little stiff.
I read 'avoid shooting sheep' as if there were going to be sheep holding guns. I was wrong, but the game's pretty fun.
I say, it's quite addictive and very innovative. I do, however, have trouble knowing what's going on sometimes. That's probably just me being stupid.
The macguffins appear when the boss' health gets to a multiple of 50. They look like muffins.
My only complaint is that it didn't last longer. If only you had more time...
It's got solid gameplay. I was a little confused as to how to play at first, but I'm kind of slow.
I like the idea. The city is detailed and beautiful as well. However, I found the controls to be very delayed and slippery, and for some reason it looked like the screen was constantly coming in and out of blurryness. Maybe the anti-aliasing is goofing up?
I was Billy.
I ate the sun.
10/10
Seriously though, the game was pretty nice. My complaint is that the non-food items aren't distinct enough. I feel the red outlines blend in too well, if they were white it might have worked. Also, I found everything blinking in and out of visibility every so often. Not sure if that's a glitch or just the game trolling me.
The gameplay is really good, but it's kind of soiled by technical problems. You already know about the lag, but attacking is kind of...clunky. Graphics are nice and polished, however!
Controls are a bit finnicky, but there was not much you could do about that. The art and sound design are splendid, and you really nailed that effect when the island rises out of the ocean.
The art style was pretty nice (I'm a bit of a sucker for Wolfenstein clones, tho.) Unfortunately, I found the combat to be a bit lacking. I was never really sure if I was hitting anyone or not, and since I could only move forward there really wasn't much to do other than spam the attack button. It'd be nice if you could, say, hold down the button and then release to push the enemies back or something. Also, I ran into a glitch where the audio engine went nuts. No idea what's going on there. Nice effort though, I personally understand what a pain in a butt games in this style can be (especially with something as low-level as LWJGL).
Yep, I suck at this game, but I kept playing somehow.
Also, those messages outside of the tower are pretty amusing.
"Donald Trump." Yep. That's a good word to put there.
The swinging physics are fun, if a little unnecessary. The music was cool, but I found it a little unfitting. (Not sure what WOULD fit for this game, really.)
Don't have much to say other than what has already been said. However, I found the music to be a bit jarring. It's not bad once you get used to it, but it felt like my ears almost burst out of my head when I opened the game.
I could do with clearer instructions and maybe a sharper difficulty curve, but overall it was a fine game. Also, when you export your game, in the "save as type" menu you can set it so that everything is packed into a single .exe file and you don't have to go through the installer.
At first I was confused, because I thought that my player was walking on top of a cube...I'm just kinda dumb sometimes. Once I realized that I was INSIDE the room the game was fine.
The graphics were great, though maybe a bit too bright for a "spooky" game. I have to say, though, that it was a bit too on the easy side.
Like everyone else said, the graphics are good and the controls need work. Mainly, the animations for the attack and the block need to be much faster. I appreciate, though, that you took the time to make the game have such a unique art style.
A very confusing game. However, the graphics and the cinematography was quite charming.
'Twas a nice game! My sole complaint is that it's hard to see when the crops are done (Perhaps they should have a more drastic change in color).
I did enjoy the general art style of the game. It had some good humor to it. However, the game's biggest flaw is that the camera does not move until you move to the very edge of the screen. This can be frustrating because there is not much room to react if an enemy happens to be in your way just off-screen. Also, if you want this game to be played more, you should really consider making an executable out of it. Here's an article that will tell you how: https://love2d.org/wiki/Game_Distribution#Creating_a_Windows_Executable
I'm afraid this game isn't really finished. It lasts about a minute and you cannot lose at all. Perhaps you were a bit short on time? I see that you emulate Notch's coding style very closely; that may present troubles if you aren't as familiar with Java as he is. I hope you'll have better luck next time!
Very polished; I especially like the reflections!
Bonus points for the Genesis music!
I can't really say what hasn't already been said. This might actually be the best game I've played so far...
It was good! Though, when the screen began to fade in and out, I was confused and thought the level was restarting.
A nice, charming game. It took me a while to realize that those Darknuts couldn't be killed, though. If they CAN be killed, it takes way too long.
I'm sorry, but there's really not much to this game at all. It's clear that multiplayer is supposed to be the real meat of the game, and you didn't have time to finish that. You made a solid attempt, though. The graphics were fine, indeed.
The graphics were excellent. I love how trippy the edges of the screen look when you look closely. The gameplay was a bit easy, as the ghosts were easily avoidable. Also, the "Kill Them All" powerup was kinda hard to look at. May want to put a seizure warning there. Mood and audio was spot on, as the others have said.
@Xwilarg DOH!!! That was entirely my fault. The down key should be "X".
