I see the FNAF at work here... and I love it.
This is genius... with some mobile porting you have something that could be the next flappy bird!
hey Paperscraps, I do plan on exactly what you said, using a slightly improved LD version as a demo, and an overhauled one for paid
one hour left, quick update
Implemented suggestions
Cool! A lot of sandstorms... but other than that it is perfectly fun!
Fun! a lot of sandstorms, which are difficult, but otherwise it is very fun!
All it needs is a way to see where the heck you are hiding
I glanced at the stream from time to time and found it fun to finally play!
It was a great idea, and over time i feel I could have done more with it. A little to innovative for a game jam.
hmmmmmmm, im not sure why it went white.
This is awesome. Great art, good polish, humor, sound. Great entry, will be in the top 100 in one category at least. Only thing that could make it cooler is if you were a dinosaur, like a Utahraptor/Velociraptor! ;)
The art is beautiful. I really like it. I will follow in your footsteps next time and do something simple.
This is what I was going for. Now just if I had tried to keep it simpler.
I now see that I am a monster. Great idea. You are a philosophical genius with the theme.
You're gonna win!
You are going to win.
Only time I have ever given five stars on everything. ;)
What was that? I like it. Nice idea, and the gameplay is so weird that I may just go take a nap and hope I don't remember flirting with monsters...
I like this one a lot! The gameplay is good and smooth, music, well, I can't believe you fit it in! I am impressed by the music, especially compared to my own skill, which is to the point I just don't do Music. :)
I love randomly generating dungeons and worlds. I have such an addiction to them, all of my games have them!
I felt like I was being told what to do by a minion from Despicable Me. Which is great! Nice job!
#19 on leader-boards!
Nice art too. And all the people are awesome with all of their comments!
The bug about not being able to hit heroes is because the heroes regenerate health quickly, so in fact there is no bug. I hope this helps!
Wow. I'm not sleeping tonight.
Very good though. Thank you for not putting a screamer at the end. ;)
this game may make it to top 100!
Love the art!
I love all of these zombie infection games where you control all of the zombies. They can be so fun!
Wow? You should check that "not for kids" and "Possibly offensive" checkbox.
Still very funny with some of the monsters though! I love their profile descriptions!
I like your art a lot! I think it's better than mine by a little bit, mostly in the way of resolution. :)
Idea is good and with some better controls it could do very well!
That Sasquatch is awesome. I love how the people jump when they are startled. The Animation and Art is awesome though!
Nice job. You got the mechanics down before adding in too much new stuff, resulting in the game being solid. The cats are very accurate too ;)
I like how terrified the little people seem. And the soldiers just be all like "I got this!"
I enjoyed this, it was a bit laggy, but to be expected. I seemed to always be bleeding out of my butt, but that's okay 'cuz it's funny! ;)
Well done! Genius idea, of course, I always wonder how people come up with this stuff.
Creepy. Cool though! I do believe this is the most innovative compo game I've seen.
I know this was going to be the first game I played, and it was so worth it. You did amazing.
The art... WOW. Please do teach us how to do that. I would go on about the game, but that art...
Well made. The puzzles are very well done, the game itself is fun, the music is music, which is still a huge plus, and the art has quite a charm to it.
WOW. I still can't believe people make this stuff so well. And really, stop being so good at pixel art, you'll make the rest of us feel bad. XD
Well done! I saw you submit this on Alvaro_as's stream and decided to give it a go! The graphics were awesome, the music EXISTED, which isn't common in these games. I thought the worms themselves were particularly cool.
I think we have one of the top 100 in at least one category right here. ;) I agree with everyone else, the terminal was GREAT.
Well thought out game with pretty and somewhat minimalistic graphics, in a good way, and a VERY sentimental little tree. ;)
Nice job! It took but a minute to figure out, and the sizing up as you failed to get the pills in the container was a nice touch!
Well done, beautiful art, music, which is always a plus, and decent sound too. Gameplay was a bit funky though.
Well done! I truly do hope you win something!
Game was well implemented with some cool tactics, even though they took a minute to figure out.
Really cool idea!
Well done! I never made it past 50, but it has a cool difficulty curve as you get older and weaker. I murdered a chicken.
@blohod, I had some family playing the game last night, and it was working for all of us.
Cool game, I can't believe someone even managed to come up with such a simple and genius idea.
Art work and concept were great, as is common with your games, but the controls and physics that went with them were a little off. Otherwise, you have yourself here a potential winner! Nice job!
This is a really cool game! I can see the Luftrausers inspiration, but just a little bit. The swarms of enemies are gratifying to kill once you learn how to, but I will say its a bit hard to learn how to control. Great job though!
Wow. This in 48 hours? I'm amazed. I hope you win. Darn snakes though... Killed me off.
The art is beautiful. Nice idea and great polish too.
I will say, I had no clue what I was doing. Maybe a bit more of instructions would be nice. But I'll come back to it tomorrow, and maybe then I'll figure it out. :)
Nice work! I liked the colorfulness of the scenery and Einar's comments at the beginning.
This is a very well built game, and the art and sound was amazing. Please do tell me this wasn't made by one person. ;)
Nice hair. It's kind of a cool game too. Kudos for adding music.
Really well made, with some genius ides. It's oddly fun too.
Wow. I have no clue how that procedural generation stuff works, but well done!
I got past 20 by the way. So, if you stop before the ramp, you can keep going after the lose screen. Then, you slowly go up the ramp, but not all the way to the top. After that, you slowly slide down said ramp, and occasionally push yourself back up a bit. Eventually you start to clip into the ramp, and as soon as it says you are going 10 speed and at the same time you are going down the top of the ramp while still near the top, spam 1 + 2 and then you shoot off the edge. Great game though. This is legit the most fun I've had so far, and not just because I broke it. ;)
Clever agar.io concept, but with ranged weapons. Nice job!
This is very impressive, and also the reason I don't do the jam, because I have to compete with stuff like this. :)
The controls are cleverly made, the game runs well, and, was I running from nazis? ;)
Very nice art and atmosphere, it probably could use some AI for when no one else is playing. But congrats on an online game in 48 hours!
This is really a cool concept. I would love to see it continued into a full game. And I got the weird sprite bug too, which I'll need to look into tomorrow.
I saw your progress posts and made sure this was the first game I rated. It's really innovative, and a cool idea. I will say though that platforming is really kinda difficult. Nice job with this one! I hope to see you on the leaderboards. ;)
Nice entry! The graphics and postprocessing effects were impressive.
A little more instruction would be great.
This is great. Really. By far the most fun game I've played of yet. Other than mine of course. ;)
Really not bad for a first game at all. Nice job! The animations are cool, with unconventional animation techniques.
This is really cool and innovative. I will say that your mouse controls are very buggy.
Well done! Having the poor player switch weapons each time you killed something has some of the forced-adaptation of Super Crate Box. I'd have to say the pentagon seemed to word the best of them all though.
This is really impressive. I'm willing to bet you'll hit the leaderboards. :D The art for the creatures was quite impressive I must say.
Nice, solid entry. Definitely more innovative than most. And Indiana Croft? That's awesome. :D
This is really cool. If anything, all I saw it was lacking was a visual indicator when you got hurt.
Very creative and pretty game. It is very hard to beat though.
Great entry. This is probably the game I've played the longest so far. So kudos for that! The cleverly placed hints were great. You really should make more content for this one.
Really cool graphics, albeit the headache. Either way it's a great idea, and is sure to hit the leaderboards in some category. :D
Nice job! I had seen in a post of yours somewhere that you were my age, so I made sure to come and check out whatever game you made soon. It's definitely a cool game. And far more thoughtful than anything I'd come up with for LD. :D
I really do like the concept of when you die, you not only lose health, but also turn into your enemy.
The atmosphere was very impressive. I really liked the octopus's animations and physics.
This is cool. Very innovative. It's games like these that reassure me about the value of this theme. :D
Very cool and surreal. Impressive.
I fell kinda bad for the human: he sees the dog, and happily runs out to meet it. :P
It's definitely a cool concept, but gets ridiculously hard. Or maybe I'm just bad at it. :D
If you fixed up the physics and removed the Mario art, this could be on Steam. Work more on the generation and maybe some cool stuff in space, and it could be exactly what people wanted in No Man's Sky. ;)
This was very, very fun to play. Nice job breaking away from cavemen (mostly) and pyramids and computers! If we still had ratings this round, then this one would definitely have won under Theme.
I'd like to see some more levels. :D
This is a great game! Nice job! I do agree with everyone else, the art style was really cool. You should definitely make it longer. I personally had no issue with the tilting, but that may just have been me.
Congratulations!
Is it bad that I enjoyed killing all of these foolish explorers so much? Anywho, the art was great. It'd be cool to see and expanded and maybe balanced version of the game in the next few weeks. :D
I really did think this was a fun game. With a few tweaks to speed up shooting a bit it would make a great real-time strategic version of worms. This is probably the most successfully innovative game I've played this round of LD. Have a trophy.
I did my best to reenact building the pyramids in the most accurate way possible: making a giant stack of single blocks. I got to the point where Ra decided it was worthy of being his tomb, and then it fell over. I *don't* think it crushed him, but who knows. At least now I know that the Egyptians never intended their pyramids to be tombs, it's just that their leaders would always have said tomb fall on them when they were viewing the finished project.
Nice job on the game! The art was very nice and polished, and wasn't pixel art! ;) (My game is, so no offense to pixel art lovers.) My only complaint is that the boulder can't jump far enough, because I just sorta ended up hitting most of the obstacles I passed. But other than that, you have yourself a nice solid entry!
Nice job so far on your game! The ancient stuff sticking out of the ground looked really cool, at least in my opinion. Before too long I gave up on taking the parts back to the ship and ran off to go blow more stuff up. If there's anything you could improve from what you have here, it would be to A: Not make the player have to tow the parts all the way back, and B: Make the player die more easily. :D
Well done!
This is a really well made game for only 3 days. With some more interesting terrain and a full campaign, this would be amazing.
Ps: Loved your comment on Chadwik
Hey Taha!
This game is really cool. I really did like the visual style, and the victory music was great. It'd be kinda cool if the blue lantern stayed there until you refilled, and then went away directly after, but otherwise, I have no complaints. :D
Pretty cool game! Nice job on the random terrain generation, it was pretty sweet. I'd love to see this added to and maybe given more of a goal than being a hate-letter to No Man's Sky. :D
I enjoyed this game. It's a really cool concept once you figure it out. It'd be kinda fun to see a further-expanded version. :D
@Pickens Inc. Thanks buddy! I look forward to the possibility of December. :D
@HuuvaKoodia Should I name them spiky poles? I just kinda called them pillars in Unity. :P
@komill Exactly what I've been thinking of doing. We plan on continuing with the game to make a full(er) version.
In the almost-done post-jam version I believe I've fixed the disappearing gem and a few other things too.
Okay, I finally managed to beat Waves 1 and 2. Nice job on the game, it's definitely a pretty unique concept for this Jam. I thought it was fun, and I liked the music too. My only suggestion is that wave 1 be made easier, because once I figured it out, it was fine, but that still took a little while.
New favorite game. This was super fun to play. Have a trophy.
What you have so far is already really cool. I'd love to see you guys take this all the way to being a full game. The art is beautiful as is too.
Wow. Really well done. The art was completely amazing. I wish I could do that. :D
Great game. The art is amazing. My suggestions: Bullets could go a bit farther, and lots of screenshake makes guns feel good. Well done this LD. :D
I like this. Well done.
It was oddly satisfying to throw stuff all over the place. :P
This game has a ton of potential. Definitely a favorite of mine this time around.
Stop being better than the rest of us at LD. ;)
Great game, congratulations.
Phenomenal game. The music is some of the best from this jam. :D
Am I the only one that noticed the cat in the back window that moved right before the cat paw swiped the top of the tank? Really nice touch there. Great game.
I like this game! The mood and art style was spot on!
This is a really fun game. Well done. :D
Amazing entry. The ability to sort rooms after building them is just about the only suggestion I have. :D
The voices are fantastic.
A bit clicky. Maybe that's because that's what doing freelance art is like. But the art and humor were spot on!
Different people's interpretation of this theme have really shocked me with how different they all are. Yours is one of those really cool interpretations that makes me wish I was as smart. :P
Amazing game!
Amazing work for a jam guys! I hope to see this score highly in at least one category.
Well this was entertaining. At times it was a little dull, but overall it was a good game. Well done! I like the cube moon. And the real-life anime. And the streaming. And the scarf. :no_mouth:
This is quite the bizarre game. :) There's something oddly amusing about how all the little planets will suddenly just zip around for no apparent reason. Congratulations on your entry!
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I also love this mechanic, but maybe that's cuz I came up with it(no clue how though.)
@homineludens and @devastus yes, I do plan on taking this game further past LD, but I'm not sure I'd want to do mobile. Steam would be the preferred platform.
Wow! Thanks everyone! This is definitely the most positive feedback I've gotten. It's like they say: 8th time's the charm. :no_mouth:
I really do enjoy games with tons of little characters all battling it out. This has some potential. The graphics were nice even though they were so minimalistic. Well done!
I love being in the jam because my ratings aren't compared to amazing games like this. I love it.
Well done! The art is phenominal, and the gameplay is smart and innovative. I'd expect this game could score very highly once the ratings are over.
This game could do very well on mobile. You definitely should give it a go. Well done on your game! The art and feel behind it were fantastic, even though they were minimalistic.
Your art is quite impressive. I'd suggest not insisting on an options menu in a jam, but oh well. While it was kinda hard, it was really quite fun, and just took a little to get used to. Maybe some more time before the level start would be nice. Nice job on your entry!
This is one of my favorite games so far. It's so much fun. My one suggestion is like @smeax, less collision with blood. I do really love the gratification when you finally take that enemy's limb off.
I first played this on a laptop and came back here to download it onto my main PC. It's that good. Welcome to my collection of favorite LD games.
I get a feeling this will score very highly in innovation. Congratulations on an amazing entry. My main suggestion would be to make the line for the jumping/shooting a little more bold. Otherwise, I was really impressed when I booted it up. Well done.
This is a well-made entry! The art in particular was very nice and had an appealing style to it. What program did you use? The game was definitely well-polished. For a suggestion, it did seem to take a little effort to die. Either that, or I didn't go long enough.
Amazing entry. :)
Well done on your LD entry! I rarely see games with dinosaurs, so that's very much going for your game in my opinion. The graphics were amazing, and built quite the mood for your game. Killing the enemies was pretty gratifying too. I seemed to get stuck at the end of the first level, because everything stopped and pressing e on the spaceship didn't work. Otherwise, you did a good job!
This is a really unique idea! (You can tell because it has nothing to do with space or planets.) All the poor little people who live in that village... at least they're willing to help each other out so freely. Well done with your entry!
Relaxing is definitely a good word for this. The controls on the spaceship were really nice to use for some reason. Congratulations on your game!
This is a very well-made and calming puzzle game. You could definitely pull this to mobile if you so wished.
A cute little game with great art. However, it got old a little quickly, and I seemed to bug some of them out a bit too.
This is actually really fun. I actually think it does pretty well even with only one enemy type, because it's LD. My suggestions would probably be more feedback for when you get hit (Screenshake is the best), and also trying to make the spikes have transparency or a ground tile behind them. Did you actually go through and code your own collision in a jam? That's quite impressive.
This game is awesome. :D The control scheme was very satisfying to interact with, so, the space bar had just enough lift. :P I'm impressed with your story, it's so gripping and I could really relate to most of the characters. The next Romeo and Juliet is in your hands.
Quite bizarre, not to mention fun and very well made! Downside of doing the jam as opposed to the compo is that I have to compete against games as good as this. This really did give me a few cool ideas for games. Well done!
This is an interesting game. I do really like it. My suggestions to make this even better would be -A different control scheme. Perhaps following the mouse or something. -Less projectiles. The screen was pretty much a sea of little dots.
However, you did quite well. I enjoyed it.
This is actually quite entertaining. I wonder how cops and soldiers could fit in?
Who knew you could conquer a planet with only a jetpack and your childhood trampoline skills? Or that the easiest way to defeat a tank is by jumping on it?
Nice game.
First of all, the art is very appealing. It makes me think of old arcade games, but with more screenshake. The contrast is very useful in helping to distinguish between sky and enemies. Next, the gameplay has a good feel to it, but the weapons aren't quite as powerful as they should be. It takes quite a few hits to kill something with the machine gun, which makes the gun feel a little under-powered. The mechanic with the planet's life was very nice though. It keeps the game centered in the small area. Overall, this is a very impressive game, especially for your first LD. Well done!
Well done on your game! I really did enjoy it. The art was awesome and you have some pretty solid mechanics here already. Though, due to lack of saving I could never get very far, but as far as I got it felt good. You could continue development on this, and you should. Nice game.
This idea is super original and very innovative. It is also simple, and well-developed, which are necessary for a successful jam game. Well done on your submission!
On a side note, the haxorman dude that talks to you is hilarious. "We could corrupt his family photos or something. Nah, I'd feel too bad."
This is quite genius. It would fare very well as a mobile game. You should continue the game past LD and maybe even monetize it. Fantastic entry.
Puppies = Cereal
"People generally agree that eating puppies sounds worse than eating cereal"
This game is hilarious. Well done!
Well, I wasn't expecting the horror aspect. O_o
I'm sending a link to my musician buddy... :D
Mood is 5/5.
The random generation of this game is really awesome, and I'd like to try a mechanic like it at some point. The game definitely has a neat idea, but it's a little difficult to control. Overall it's a great entry! Well done.
This is a great little game! The atmosphere was fantastic, and while the ship bounced just a little too much, it felt very good to control. Congratulations on an entry well done!
This is a neat little game! The gameplay stands out from the rest of LD because I have yet to see someone else use this concept. It was fun to play, and I really liked the player's design and animation. Somebody please high-five your artist.
My dad got a good laugh out of this... :D Fun(ny) little game!
The movement mechanics are amazing. It makes the game very fun to navigate around, and if you can get the movement of a game to be fun, it makes the finished product that much more impressive. Congratulations on a fantastic entry!
A little hard, but overall a fun game. As has been mentioned before, a bit more wiggle room would have been nice. But 2 hours? Wow!
For you intending them to be bad, they're pretty good. :D
This game has some fantastic polish, even with how simple it is. The animations were so smooth, and the general feel of controlling the character and shooting things was awesome. Congratulations on a solid entry!
@merrol it's actually 42, but that was before the addition of cats with guns. ;) Now? 28 or so.
@x-budsterized_x I usually focus on hitting the gun-cats first, and make sure to toss the toy/flare into a place where I can easily swing back through and pick it up again later.
@nivbeth Bunnies?
The level of polish present here is awesome. I'm amazed at how good it feels to move around the little square. You have done quite a good job with this little game.
It's a nice game, for sure. The gameplay was a bit difficult, but I think that could've been fixed with a slower, but still just as low, jump. The graphics were quite appealing and set up a nice mood for the game. Congratulations on your entry!
A fantastic little game. The art was very good for PICO-8's restrictive palette, and the gameplay was great and innovative.
By the end of my playthrough, both my coffers, and coffin, were full. ;)
A wonderful little game. I saw it in the LDJAM feed a few times, and was looking forward to play it. And the thing is, I wasn't disappointed. :D It's super fun.
Not a bad little story. Who doesn't like a Bitsy game?
Nice job on your entry this jam @bwalter! It took a minute to get into, but once I did I enjoyed it.
Also, you're enemy design is fantastic. I love the sly boulders. :D
Poor Walter Cox watched all of his friends die before encountering some enemies he couldn't escape, and dying. :( The feels are coming through the screen.
You definitely nailed the theme. I got overwhelmed pretty quickly. ;) However, it was super innovative, and generally a cool concept. An amazing entry.
You certainly have a good start to your game here. It's simple to get into and overall fun. The art also seems to be heading in a good direction, and the game feel you have so far is definitely a high point with the screenshake and whatnot.
As people have said before, audio is a bit of a low point, and perhaps a final score would be a nice addition.
However, this is definitely a pretty sweet entry overall. Congratulations on completing it!
A super fun game. It was honestly a bit hard, but once you got used to it you could usually make it a good ways. The biggest thing I can think of that would improve the game, is making it so that hitting an enemy doesn't instantly kill you, but perhaps instead partially fill your heat.
The art was fantastic, the art style you built is simple, but looks good, and you seem to have been able to pull it off really well in the limited time.
This is definitely a very solid entry, congratulations.
This game is beautiful in both how it looks, and in its execution. Exactly what Flappy Bird should have been. Congratulations on a VERY solid entry!
This is a fun little game. I think it's awesome that all of the old ladies like visiting the house of their one friend who lets their cats poop all over the floor. Wouldn't it be a lame party for her if she spends her whole time picking up poop? What exactly are her guests doing at he party?
Overall, I had a good laugh while playing this. Congratulations on your entry!
This is definitely a fun little game, with a very cool concept. Well done on your entry!
It was a pretty enjoyable little adventure. The art looks great, and it's pretty simple to get into. However, it was kinda difficult to aim the cat's head, and the camera controls seems to jump around like crazy for me.
This game is oddly fascinating. I love it.
A fun little game. I'd suggest explaining it a bit more at the bottom of the page, but other than that, you did well. The art was pretty great, and the music too. Congratulations on a solid entry!
This is awesome. The idea is amazing. Once you figure out what's happening, it's a really fun idea. I think it one potential change you should consider is making it so that you don't HAVE to kill all of the enemies, so you have the option of just hitting them with some fat and then running. Overall, congratulations on a unique entry!
@icxon thanks so much for recording your playthrough! It's not often that happens, and is also super useful for seeing what people do when I'm not in the room with them.
@posho is it cool if I post this to my twitter? (I'll @ you) Also thanks so much, I'm glad you liked the game!
@shell-pirate & @kokonaught yeah, I have no idea why I didn't do that. It's really simple to do too.
@trevor-hayes thanks so much for finding this!
I'd have to say my biggest suggestion would be to map the firing to a different control scheme. Otherwise, it was really fun, and the shaders, in addition to the particle effects (like the darkness enemies) made it look super cool and unique. It took a few tries to get the gameplay down, but otherwise, it's a fantastic entry!
Hey Egor! Great job on your entry yet again! I'll admit I'm not entirely sure how it fits the theme, it was fun to play, and had a unique mechanic. (I also love that the timelapse starts with you drawing a spaceship) On a side note, as you got farther in the game, the corruption regenerating itself got kinda annoying, but I was usually able to keep up with it. Either way, congratulations on a successful LD!
Congratulations on a fantastic entry! Like I've seen others have said, the first level was tougher than it should have been, but after that it was manageable and made for quite an enjoyable experience!
I really enjoyed this. It was simple but really fun, and with a great deal of variety. As soon as you introduced the shadow character, I was like "Whoa this is great" and it really helped make the gameplay fresh again. Congrats on a fantastic entry!
I won, and I was like "Heyayayayay" and my friend said "Hey! What's goin on?"
Hey, congratulations on a fantastic entry @nyunesu ! The aesthetic was nice, the music reminded me of my childhood for some reason, the gameplay was fun, and it was overall an enjoyable experience. My only complaint would be that it didn't really fit the theme, but the ever-shrinking levels were cool, so I think that made up for it.
@mertios that one's just a preview of sorts.
I honestly had a blast playing this with my friend. Just for kicks, I might find a way to get some people to bet candy on it, just for kicks.
Fantastic entry this time around!
Beyond the fact that I didn't really see the theme, it's amazing.
I'd have to say it's the second-best little metroidvania this jam.
You really did a fantastic job with your entry Steven! I'm impressed you built an entire visual programming system in 2 days! Congratulations, and I can't wait to see your entry up in the winners!
@ooku what trouble did you have with the controls? If there's anything specific I can fix, I'd love to know.
Hey @bwalter! You did a really great job on your game this time around. I can easily see you ranking in overall or graphics. As you've said some people complained about, the screenshake was a little much, but only really needs to be lessened whenever you successfully attack things, so that you can distinguish between dying and breaking a wall. Also, I beat it. Love the ending! And congratulations on your entry!
This is great Egor! Loved seeing how fast you whipped it up, (and the fact that you kept sending us procedural effects on Discord even during the jam) and I'm glad it's taken off so well.
Congratulations on a fantastic entry Ben! The gamefeel and general aesthetic were both fantastic, and as usual the character art was great.
This was, in short, amazing! Probably one of the best uses of the theme I've seen so far. I had no clue that you could make card games like this, and it makes me want to see what other kind of games you can make using a similar hand system. While the audio was a bit of a low point, it's still an amazing entry for this LD!
This is certainly an excellent game! I kinda feel bad that I wasn't paying that much attention to poor Harper, and was just hitting whatever option was at the top. But, the platforming and shooting gameplay is fantastic, and feel great to control as you run around and shoot people. While some of the enemy AI could have used some work, the shape of the levels made up for it, as they were quite fun to traverse.
Congratulations on a fantastic entry!
