I had a lot of fun playing this game!
Fantastic art! This is really fun to play and well designed. I'm not nuts about the sound.
this was a fun little game
Interesting, difficulty ramps up very quickly. The first sound was pretty loud, so maybe a background track to help people set their sound level would be nice. Otherwise, a fine litle game! well done
Nice little game! Super challenging but fun. I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxcULPo0hyk
fantastic art! had a lot of fun playing this game.
nice game, the only frustrating thing is that the player hide mines he's under and sometimes you die without visible reason. I didn't see how it fit to the theme, "the more coin you have the more enemies" is maybe not enough to be interesting. Great job though !
Really fun, maybe one of my favorite games I've played so far, except for one thing that hurts the gameplay an incredible amount.
The mine arrows need to both
a) Not show up under enemies b) Draw on top of everything else
It is very easy to run into a mine that you can't see.
Other than that, fantastic!
The idea is great, but the game gets difficult super fast. The best part of the game is the graphics and animations. The sounds in the game is okay, but I would also have liked some music. Overall a well made LD game. Well done
I enjoyed the game! One thing I would like is to be able to see the score when you lose so I can see if I'm beating myself. I think that'd make the replaying more enticing. Congratulations on making a game!
I like the little house-upgrades. They're hardly noticeable until I go the second house, so consider making them bigger, or have the first few happen with only a few coins.
Related: It would also be nice to have the total amount of coins displayed after you die
Love the chunky coin sound. Also: nice but minimalistic graphics/animation.
The very nice minimalist game with pretty simple control. It was fun to play it.
Great game! What I liked most was:
- Graphics: The pixel works great and the explosion effects, the tiny monster, etc. are awesome! - Gameplay: I liked it, it's simple but you can replay it as may times you want. The gamefeel it's great, with the cam-shakes, font animation and sounds.
I'd change some things:
- Warn more about the floor explosion. I think that was the main reason if my deaths, the fact that I couldn't see sometimes if I was over one or not. As that frog said, drawing them on top would be the best. Other option is to make the whole floor tile as a warning. - Score: Show it at the end, althought every 15 coins you send them, show the complete coins collected. Besides, the game says that the money you send is to upgrade my house... But I don't see any house, nor the upgrades. I'd rather let the score grow higher than 15, so the player gets more competitive and doesn't "lose" the coins won.
I think you did a great game, make sure you vote and give nice feedback to other games so they play yours!
This was pretty fun. A few problems I noticed, though: It's already been mentioned before but the sounds are a little rough sometimes. Lowering the coin pickup volume would help a good bit, I think. Music would have been great too but time constraints can make that difficult. I also had a number of deaths happen because I wasn't aware an explosion was going to spawn under me. Having those sprites draw on top of the player would have made things a whole lot more playable, if slightly less pretty.
Overall, though, that was a lot of fun! Keep up the good work!
You certainly have a good start to your game here. It's simple to get into and overall fun. The art also seems to be heading in a good direction, and the game feel you have so far is definitely a high point with the screenshake and whatnot.
As people have said before, audio is a bit of a low point, and perhaps a final score would be a nice addition.
However, this is definitely a pretty sweet entry overall. Congratulations on completing it!
Nice game! I really would've liked to see some music (and also a quieter coin sound, as those before me have already mentioned). The graphics were pretty good, but one thing I would've liked to see would be for the player to have smoother movements when moving between squares. This would've made the game look much more polished, although I understand the time restraints. Great job!
Easy to pick up and play, very polished graphics, and a great example of a jam game. Well done!
The game felt pretty intense with the tiny playing field. Good animations and screen shake make it feel alive. I agree with others that its easy to miss that you're standing on a soon-to-explode "X" field.
