@lloydcorfex you need to roll the dice to influence the fights.
@harry-alissavakis Glad you played it! Your game was really epic.
I wish I could've designed this game, I love minimalistic tower defense kinda thing with mouse interaction. The reward sound is WAY TOO LOUD. I had to mute the game to play it because I was actively trying to avoid shooting projectiles to avoid the sound. The difficulty curve is really interesting too.
The background is very soothing, I shot the turkey by accident so many times ahah. The reloading makes the game quite challenging as sometimes more than 3 enemies are coming for your turkey, so you have to be strategic with where the turkey is going.
Good job!
Extremely clever and innovative game. It's on point and fun to play around your own desktop windows, I made stairs with all the files of previous played ldjam build. The controls are a bit stiff gameplay wise and I really wish you went into an action oriented gameplay with those missiles that push the windows around, with wall climbing and jumping that could be a lot of cheap fun! But for a jam this was a very good experience and I wish this theme of using your own desktop as a playground was more common!
GIVE ME BACK MY HEART!! untitled.png
Amazing entry, the screenshots don't do it justice. It's really atmospheric and tense at the same time. There's really not much I would've changed, maybe switch the right click with escape so you can cancel your action and make the game faster, even though you would lose the ability to rotate the pattern. 5 stars game all the way.
An exceptional game and experience, I played again and again! Wonderful addition of an online leaderboard!
@bigdylann did you try downloading and playing the windows build? It is HIGHLY recommended to download the game.
@zettelkasten Try to download the windows build if you're experiencing input issues.
@nella The original rover movement was keyboard based but it was way too clunky, we figured mouse movement was the most intuitive solution. You need to stop the rover to look around which will also reduce the energy drain of the battery.
@doot Crumble life form detected on Mars!
Thanks everyone for playing our game and leaving feedbacks!
269! Wonderful game, so much juice
That is so creative, if I could put 10/5 in innovation I would. Thanks for creating a wonderful sharing experience guys!
This is the best looking game I've played thus far, crazy skills from the team.
So simple yet so effective! It's strangely addictive too
What an experience! the game lagged a bit on HTML so I downloaded it. The audio really stood out for me, the way you mixed the music with the sound fx of the dig is so smart.
What a game, it feels extremely satisfying and everything is on point. I realised you could use a controller to play and it feels 10 times better doing so. Game jams are designed for games like these and I'm really glad I got to play this one. I'll be looking forwards your next projects!
A bit too minimalistic...
cool little game, but don't put the goal of your game next to the frame for debug. Seems like this game is more fitting to the theme "it's spreading" than running out of space. Cool game though!
Eye pleasing game, couple things you could have done differently in my opinion, there is no delay to register inputs, so it's not a super slick. Put the help bigger because i couldn't read it. I didn't realise that you could actually repair the "hole" in the ground after much longer, maybe put the price in grey on the text ? It was an enjoyable game nontheless ^^
I didn't realise we have the same game name x)
I like the color palette.
Great mechanics for a small game, doesn't lag either on web, so that's a good point. I don't know how i feel about paid assets on a jam, i think you should have done the assets yourself since there's not much to be done in terms of background. But it's still a great entry ! Good job guys.
the voice acting (like everyone is pointing out) is a nice addition, it gets you right into the mood of the game. I can see you tried your best at almost every aspect of a game development and it shows !
The gameplay is a bit limited, there's few bug here and there. You shouldn't have put variation of color to the boxes, it doesn't serve the gameplay right.I can see you put effort into this, it's a great little game, especially for a first jam, nice job !
It looks like fun through the screen you share but once you play it quickly loses it's interest. The drawings are cartoony and fun, some ui button have some misplaced trigger, and you should consider letting the player put more than 1 building each time he clicks, so that we don't have to move the mouse that much. Great game !
The game is solid and it feels nice to jump. There is a little bug though when you jump once and then quickly press space when you hit the ground, the next jump is a very weak jump. Maybe you could have used physics for the platform ? Grea little game nontheless.
Fun little game, I really like the way the level names are C: and D:, the jump animation is a little weird at first now i kinda love it, it adds something definitely. You should tune down the SFX a bit, it's way too loud for me. And maybe rework the IA because it just falls to it's death. Cool entry for only one man.
Very cool game, the way you introduce the tutorial in the game is brilliant. I would pay to play a full version of this game! The controls feel great and the shooting too. Great job guys in so little time !
Great game but you should have work more on the UI !
It's a fun physic Game but if you don't read the control that you put in your post, there's no way of knowing that you have to press shift to increase height power. So maybe a pass on feedbacks could help a lot, or a more adequat input.
I like the idea for the menu to have everything pile up, because it's the core gameplay of your game.
Reverse tetris ok, Two things i found weird in your game; Why do you allow me to go outside of the playable zone just to kill me :(, and why are the tetris block outside of the zone that is clearly designed to kill me :((. The graphics are a bit too fuzzy i would suggest trying to do fewer assets but more cleaned, simpler etc...
Wow can't believe you had times to make this. Despite being 4 working on it you achieved coherence in every way. The game is consistent and intuitive. I'm not a huge fan of the artistic direction you went for but i can understand it. You had special attention to both gameplay and feedback, i feel like this is a true game with a solid core gameplay. Very good job guys, i'm a fan now ! One thing though, you could have made the game restart once finishing a level is no longer possible.
Elegant concept for a jam, the gameplay is very engaging, if i were you i would add more feedback to the send shuttle action. great little game !
It's a bit hard to understand how it should be played but it's fun and a refreshing new style of game. Keep it up !!!
Really pleasing game to look at and play, mac exe version is working btw. You should map the wasd key to movement too because it's weird to be using directionnal key and the mouse at the same time.
The visual is what is the most interesting to me in this game, job well done.
The game looks fun with pleasant graphism. I don't know if it was that of a great idea to gave multiple gameplay and not one strong and dependant gameplay. The diffuclty between games is unbalanced and sometimes the way to play differs too much that it doesn't fit with what the text is saying.
an innovative game that is simple and yet can be extremely difficult. I appreciate the sound ramp and the tutorial at the beginning, we understand on the go how to play your game it's very intuitive. It doesn't look like much but it's a gem.
alright i played it without reading the gameplay and i got it after 1 minute of playing it, maybe add some Fx Feedback to the ennemies so that we know we can interact with them. the concept is more interesting than the realisation of it.
I felt like the game would benefit from being free movement instead of grid. The shark looks dangerous !
Good avoid platformer type of game ! The text at the beginning is too long, you should put something to skip it. Nice entry !
The idea is interesting and should be worked on more, the combat feels great so kudos for that ! The fact that the flame is physically blocking me is a little bit weird in my opinion, lava wall would be more fitting ?
It's a bit rushed but you get your point acrossed, was a bit weird to rotate the map with arrow key (because i didn't understand the reason of it). Great chara design though !
Finally i can use my mouse and space bar at the SAME time !!!
You are right to continue developping the game, you'll only get stronger and stronger, kudos to you man.
The special Fx are really pretty, i suppose you did some neat shaders as well great job man !
I dig the artstyle, although the menu screen doesn't feel like it's in the same universe.
The concept is to be explored, it's obvious you didn't have time to balance the gameplay, but it's a good try.
Great game guys, i know how hard it can be to be working on a small team with big ambitions ;)
The concept is not that bad but there is so much in the way of understanding the way to play... Flashlight is useless and if i run out of ammo i can't refill because i need ammo to get ammo... There are some little features that seems cool though.
Too slow and with no clear goal. The technic behind it is interesting though !
I feel like that way you attack doesn't fit the way the game is playing, you attack like in a combat game but you have notes that come vertically. The animation and color are good ! zgezgez.jpg
i didn't think i would enjoy playing this, but i did ! Really innovative, wonder what it would look like with 3D graphics
I feel like it was more an audio remixer software than an actual game. The sounds are well done considering the gameplay.
I think it's pretty hard to get a good pace of jumping, there are several bugs, there is a line or grid floating in front of the scene which is scrolling. And you can actually fall under the platforms and jump inside of them.
You should make a MAC version for a larger audience, i tried your web version but it was a bit laggy on my computer but i'm sure the PC version doesn't lag. It was really fun but too much difficult of a FPS for me. Great effort on the graphism side, it's way above average for a jam to have modeled and textured gun and ennemies. The gameplay could be developped more, maybe in a real game who knows ;).
It's the most humoristic simplistic moody feel good game i've played in the jam, it's like we don't even feel the pain behind the development, playing this game made me happy. Solid 5, that's all.
9 people making this, amazing ! Animations were cute, and well polished. It was very hard though, i barely made it.
Really intersting mechanics, sometimes i felt like the game was playing too much without me, well done man !
When i went to the web version on itchio i thought the banner was the game x), got confused for a minute. Thank god you didn't do a movement based on the grid, there is another game that did this, it wasn't as much fun as this one. My only regret after playing it, it's not nervous enough and there is too much upgrades (in quantity). Great graphism (very dramatic intro) for a great entry !
Beyond the very basic graphic of the game, there's something in the concept that is very clever. I am very curious on how you managed to pull that off in a homemade C++ engine, that's a lot of effort man ! Thinking about the upgrades the player could have to destroy gigantic blob of color expand the whole game mechanics to a new level
It was really interesting to get to know your way of thinking through this game, Best graphism and investement in it i've seen so far, Great 5. I always feel uncomfortable when i want to do this type of game but i know it will be a miss everytime, so i'm here making sure to let you know it's not a miss, not on me anyway !
what's with the voice acting xD that's crazy man.
It took me some death to finish your game but it was worth it. I think you should put way more checkpoint than that, i don't think a lot of people are experienced platformer player, and i almost quitted at the saw section. There is also a death at spawn during the last saw checkpoint.
Great visual aswell as a fitting sound for your game. The character reminds me a lot of super meat boy and when i first saw the saw (pun not intended) i remembered the pain.
I didn't really understood the link between the theme and your game though.
Congratz for this game man.
Thanks for making the Webgl version, i've been playing this game two times now and it's the most fun game i've played in this jam because of it's simplicity and the comedic gameplay. It could have been simplier in my opinion with automatic grastic liquid thing, spontaneous vomiting etc... Great entry (thanks for the coop too)
Great visuals overall, really consistent all the way. I had some hard time picking up one specific box but other than that played for a couple of time, i'm really interested in what you can do next !
intersting way to make a character move, a couple things though that you could change: -i wasn't really feeling like i was in control of the character movement, i know that's what you were going for but when i started looking at the character's feet i played much better, so maybe add a ring or effect there. -i died during stage transition because you don't reset the transform of the player each stage.
Really nice game there, it's a common idea in this game jam but you added your spin to it, Since everything is black i've had a hard time identifying what could kill me or not, like the bounds. Good job man!
It's simple but fun, nice use of the physics with restrained axis. You maybe should have put a higher poly model for the wall behind (that's nitpicking) It's hard but it's the main drive of this ame (like all physics game made). You should have spent more time on the music i think. The box look great !
@htmichael we're aware the controls aren't as precise as it should be, but we're trying to balance it out with the gameplay so that it doesn't become too easy to not fall down, for the frame rate i suggest you try the Exe version as the webgl isn't optimized for everyone. Thanks for the feedbacks.
@tuism Thanks for the detail critic, the mac build is on the way, sadly the two of us are working today so we can't be on this right now. The web build as mentioned is a preview version of our game, it is really not optimized to be played on low end pc or mac through WebGL, the executable version is way more stable both in frames and physics, hope you'll check back when we update our project.
We thought that the goal of our game was pretty self explanatory but you're right that we should be more specific inside the game feedbacks, maybe we'll add a score if we have time after our daily job.
@mormert Hey, thanks for playing and enjoying our game.
For the physic we approached it with multiple iterations, we needed the graphism to be on par with the physic gameplay. So what we did was using vertex color with very low poly meshes so that we could batch them together, and then we mainly used primitive colliders for all objects then we set the mass value of all rigidbodies according to their size and density. So when a small rigidbody is on top of a bigger one it doesn't wobble that much. we also simplified the unity physics to have less steps and to prevent passive colliders to be updated.
It did the job for the main game (exe version) as we had no frame dropping due to physic and no low fps due to rendering that much props, but for the webgl version it is still a bit too much for low end pc.
@araklaj , @beard-or-die , the tongue tip is semi joke semi real tip, you can actually jump with your tongue (it wasn't intended) but after playing our game for a long time (for debugging purpose of course) we started using this technique of jumping with the tongue to get crazy height and speed.
@nyunesu Thanks for the well thought feedbacks. Unfortunately we can't remove the Webgl version as it is the only way some people can play this game, I trust people to chose the most optimal way to play our game.
I'll be glad to give you feedbacks on your game !
@bismark We are french developpers so we have AZERTY keyboards too, but there is so much way you can play a qwerty game with an azerty keyboard that we didn't bother:
you can either Shift alt to switch from azerty to qwerty or you can download the build and reconfigure it yourself.
Thanks for enjoying our game.
@jesus-gonzalez Thanks for the kind comment, we actually did it in 48 hours since we had work on monday ^^.
@rend Thanks, we did a little tilt but we now realize that we should have putted more offset.
@unitedfailures The starting platform was made after our first release, but people were struggling to just stay on it to learn the control. So we made a very solid platform for you to get to know the game first. We have a lots of comments suggesting different solutions for that exact problem you mentioned for the gameplay and we will apply them if we ever do a game based on this jam.
We are so much proud of what we did, thanks to all the kind comment and constructive ones as well, it's really a learning experience to have so much feedback all at once !
The idea could be exploited more in my opinion, the movement of the character should be more nervous and less floaty !
Cool game, simple gameplay, I wish i could throw some big ass monolithic SSD into my computer...
The driving of the car feels good and squashing people too ;) good job !
The start of the game is really gorgeous, you really pushed yourself there, and it's kinda disapointing when you start the game to see that the quality isn't the same. The music is great although it gets messy at the beginning. The control of the ship is cool and limited. The idea could be awesome in a larger scaled game. Nice work man !
First off, the graphics in the menu doesn't do justice to the graphics in game, i kinda like it in way. The controls are too complicated, there is too much variations of metrics in the jumps, for instance the second jump is so much different than the first one, which makes the game harder than it needs to be. Also is wall jump a bug or intended ? The game has a clear visual indentity, so well done !
First off, turning the camera at each rotation is a BIG nono, this will lead only frustration to the player and disorientation. Maybe add some theme sound even a free one on the web to add some peps to the game.
I had a hard time playing at first because i didn't read any thing about it, but once i figured it out i started to think that it's a great innovative game with a VERY fitting gameplay for the theme, good job !
I'm a fan of the old school tetris, so this game really seems to fit my style, kinda puzzle game. I really appreciate (visually speaking) the fact that you took time even in a jam to make some visual feedback in the game. The character looks surprisingly realistic from afar and there's a great vibe going on with the colors of the room, the character and the feedback. A lot of work there man, great job!
Really fun game with physics, i think it could be even simpler, you could just throw away the items you receive. Very cool !
I think what could help the game would be to add torque and inertia to the boat.
Well, it's a fidget alright, you should try putting it on phone i felt like using the mouse was a bit weird.
Hard game, the post effect glitchy effect is frustrating ^^', it is well done graphycally and is very simple. I've already seen 2 other games doing the same core gameplay, you did it best. Good job comrade o7 !
Okay i may not be objective on this one because i love golf game. The Fx looks great, technically the scripts behind it are flawless. BUT (you can stop reading after this it's nitpicking) You can't see where the moon will launch at first try, the game resets after you collide planets ???, the moon is too slow. It kinda reminds me of the theme you control the environment not the player kind of deal. Solid little game.
It's a very cute game both in graphism and gameplay.
great voice acting x), there is a cruel lack of feedbacks when you hit ennemies. You could add some red Fx to show that indeed you hit the spooky skeleton with your chainsaw. You also have 2 main Core gameplay here: platformer and killing skeleton, maybe make a priority on one of them. Cool graphism !
The reading part was a bit too long i think, would have been nice to have pictures of the story (i know it's hard with the time constraint). The fish is awesome really dig the style. The cat boss fight appearance and the dramatic music was gold.
This is a very hard game, the fact that you put spike above the spawn at the very first level shows intents...
The art is a very strong point of your game. It's very likable. You should have put more visual feedbacks so the player doesn't get lost, trying to move the giraffe on the boat like i did on the first level.
I get that Machine learning is beginning to be the trend etc... but in this case i really don't see the point, since you only show us the end point of this technique and not the process which is far more process intensive. If you had made some funky move based on sin wave or other mathematical formula you would have far more control over their behavior and you would have invested more time on mood, Endgoal, Core mechanics.
But, the result is rather comical and i did look at your twitter and it's really funny. So from a technical point of view i really like your experiences and the result you got. Good job guys !
I really dig the style and makes me want to see them with animation. the shaking is too much, maybe smooth it out. I don't really have anything to add that other people pointed out, it's a cool and simple game, job well done, with very pleasing graphics and design.
Real gameplay hidden in this game. It's very oppressing when you play it and you know it's gonna fallen, i wish there was a way to tell if a tile is gonna fall (maybe i missed it ?), the buildings type are limited but that's a good thing for this game as it is self explanatory ! The mood of this game is particulary well done, great job for a jam !
The game is a short bundle of fun, special mention to the audio and the programmer !
The core mechanics works very well with the graphic style you chose, it's a bit hard for me but to play (i'm not very bright) but i enjoyed it nontheless. The most interesting part is that you retain informations you've learned about the level design upon death, you should have exploited that more and go 100% with the core gameplay.
I had to turn off the music, it's way louder than the rest of the SFX.
I wonder where you got the idea of taking a chinese man and send him to space with his hat and his rocket chair going down.
Past the barebone graphism, the game is fun for the first minute, although it's incredibly easy to cheat and spam click. There's a nice feeling when you click and you get ejected then propulsed. Nice job !
Boom hihi whoop, those sound effect ! It's a cute little game that doesn't require to be focused on it, very relaxing, but, because there's always a but, i didn't understand the difference between levels and sometimes some corn was stuck behind another pop corn. Cool game !
Graphism is definitly a strong point in this game, it's really nice to move in this background. Tere is a problem in the ui when you scroll through buttons, you need to wait longer before scrolling automatically while the button is pressed.
It's a very neat game, good job guys !
It's that type of games that makes me want to do a Jam. I really have nothing to say that could potentially improve the game apart from graphism and Game design. Well done !
Very cute and enjoyable game (even relaxing with the music even though you're trying to squish me to death), there's a couple MINOR bug like if i reset a level then go back to the menu the SFX sound will reset for some reason. And i passed through a wall at level 2.
I really like the way you killed me in level 3, slowly etc... really funny. :)
At first i thought it was procedural, i had to retry to see it. I think it would add a lot if you has SOME (not all) procedural elements that are not primordial, i now it's hard to balance etc...
Great entry !
Really interesting and zen gameplay. I once made a growing garden gameplay 1 year ago and couldn't figure out how i wanted the to grow, seeing this impressed me because you got it done in 48 hrs, well done. It's really beautifully done, we don't even know it's 3D (it is right ?). Couple UI problem both technically and design, the input seems off, you should make it more Mouse click friendly for more zen attitude points !
Impressive but too short, it looks like the mechanics of my game but reversed ^^ and in 2D. I'm a big fan of the contrast in black and white and the banned you put doesn't do it justice maybe choose another one more clear ? (because the page has a white background so maybe put a frame around it).
zzzzz.jpg
that's as far as i can go. The game is surprisingly trippy and chill. The intro is very cute. AAAYYAAAAAAa ;)
The mood, the music, the pixel art and even the barebone animatic at the beginning were fantastic but the gameplay suffers in comparison, it's flat and there is no variations. And i don't seem to understand where the theme relates (is it because the light is shrinking). Don't take my critics to seriously, there is a lot of work in this and i can see it, you did a very good job ! very well done.
The blob is actually really fluid even with hand drawn animation, we made a blob too and it's not as jelly as this one <3. The game is simple and fun, but there's a couple thing that could have been done differently, the spawning of objects shouldn't be directly on the player it causes too much case of softlock, stuck inside mesh etc... The game feel is pretty nice to be fair, good job !
I would suggest to build a version for Web, it will get you more play and wouldn't be a problem for this kind of game.
The game is fun and cute, I'll point out one thing though, white cat on white windows isn't very visually clear. Good job man !
It's a solid gameplay with pretty graphics, it's well done technically but has some design issues. The jump doesn't have to be manual, the broken tile and the more solid one isn't that much different visually. those are minor issues compared to what you actually achieved in terms of game and product. I'm surprised not a lot of people are reviewing this.
There are some optimization issues but the intent is good
It's cute but could be cuter with correct lighting. It's not super process intensive so great job for that ! Few things you could improve to have a fun gameplay: I didn't know where i was until my second try, maybe add a little Fx so we know where the lion is at the start. And maybe show with a visual feedback the cooldown to get shot? by the military men, because i don't know how they kill me but it can't be with those tiny swords x). Great entry for a jam !
Cool game! You should put a Web version as your graphism isn't demanding at all. You would get more people playing your game. Couple things that you could change; the buttons to select building are too small and there's too many of them. I didn't understand how ressources worked because never in the game have i needed them ? Your screenshots are awesome that's what made me want to play the game !
The gameplay isn't very clear for 1 or 2 games. I guess don't press space bar because it will kill everyone. Art style is kinda cute. Nice job !
The theme is well interpreted, quite literally in fact. Tell me one good reason why can't we cut the bullets in half :( ? Cool little game ! You would gain in quality if you took time to polish the graphism.
At least you made an AI !
Didn't expect much when downloading the game, i was happily surprised with the core mechanics of the game, the graphics are the black spots on the white screen of gameplay. It could be a great adventure game !
Very nice concept.
Really had fun playing it, got affraid by the scream at the end x). You should keep working on the game even post-jam as it has a lot of potential and can be very ambitious ! It lacks a bit of feedback but it's not a big deal
@rasmus-clausen Thanks a lot, we simply put 3D mesh on cast shadow only on top of their sprites and voilà :french_bread: .
I really don't know what to say after playing it, really relaxing and "kino" pure graphism and design at its best. Now i want to make something like that :) I played the game twice since there's no ending.
This game is a good example of the type of game that made me want to work on video games. Making a jam with a lot of people can be difficult sometimes especially in 3D so congrats for making it ! You nailed every aspect of slime rancher that makes it good. Your game is a bundle of fun with cherry on top :cherries: Could use a little bit more feedback(other than sound which is amazing btw) and a bit of shader work :surfer:
Very nice Concept, The mood is well put even if simplistically done. I had a hard time attacking ennemies, would have be nice to have an auto-attack triggering with proximity !
Nice twist for the theme, congrats on the game.
I liked the seamless mennu you made it's very effective. It took me a while to figure out that "game" meant play video games, who plays during a jam x)
VERY funny game !
Small game but a hard one, i still can't find out how to solve that last one
It feels surreal and sci-fiesque at the same time. Very interesting mood, is it the sacrifice we're going to make in the future ???
It plays very well, good game feel too! A bit slugish at time but i guess you intended it :smirk_cat:
cigarette shop in prison x)
Nice compo, would love to see a more complete version of this, also you can perform twice the same action if you click very fast.
Cool game with good lighting. Got stuck, I had to restart it :/ stuck.JPG
Maybe open the doors so player don't instinctively jump over it :D
The pixels look very big on my 4K monitor x). Great nostaligic game !
I killed thounsands, to save 3...
The character models are very good. The camera is not in the best angle imo, the animation of hitting is very heavy(maybe a layer mask animation would be better ?)Very nice polished entry.
Why are people shooting at god ?
The ring level is a nice touch, the only criticism i can give is for the asteroids poping behind the UI
Aside from the obvious mouse switch input problem, very great game, i found that the best strategy was to idle and spam units.
Great camera work at the beginning. Can be frustrating at time because of enemies being pure evil and the camera.
Story of my life
Harder than it seems ! Especially with the view offset ^^. Really great graphism and variety in customers.
The music fits the mood so perfectly. Best first Compo in this ludum dare i've seen. Welcome, great job, and keep making great stuff.
Where are the parents ? rofl
When i installed it and saw the first screenshots, i thought to myself, one of those games again. Then i was stunned by the gameplay, the music sells it so well. Great content for a compo, i would've loved a rogue-like mechanic.
@lieropart I did took time to make a rig for the character in Blender and used an IK system to make it easier for me to animate, you can see the rig on my twitter: https://twitter.com/BruteForceGame/status/1122555136205885441 The noodle arms and legs are just the product of a lot of vertex loops and bones with a surf modifier at the end to smooth it all.
I've played the original game, so I don't see the point for players like me to play your game, only for comparison i guess :s. It's technically good, even though i would like more contrast on the stripes.
Nice cookie clicker and voice acting, would've loved to be able to put many people on one mine.
Great darkest dungeon style visuals, you've clearly made the combat system with QWERTY keyboard in mind, because it's a bit hard to play on an AZERTY one, maybe arrow keys would be better ?
I love me some doom like gameplay, I tested a streak of puzzle jam, then i found this game, you get bonus point for fun ^^. Would kill to have a speed boost in slow-mo !
Watching the dollars form a ring around the earth is mesmerizing, really solid physics there !
How did you manage to get this visual ? The pig looks 3D and the drop shadows look amazing !
Thanks for the AZERTY support.
Muhehe, coin life is a sad life.
I think this coin is bugged, it keeps giving me money. Great game otherwise ! qadfawa.JPG
Loved the story, I connected well with it. Even though i got some duplicates, mayube you could had some procedural words like "brigand" "thief" or else ^^
The story is bloody evil x), great little game, the story is really appreciated. Took time to understand what was the feedback for neurons going to red.
5/5 for everything. This is a good game with a lot of work put in it.
Truly brilliant for a compo, I found it difficult to understand at first, but then it gets easier.
A bit confusing at first, you have to put a lot of time to understand what items to gather. Didn't finish it, was too hard for me x). I really don't like FPS with jump animation for the camera ;s, still a nice entry for a compo, i know how hard it can be !
Nice camera shots at the beginning. The way the ambulance just smash away the vehicles cracks me up. The night time is a it annoying since i can't see anything in front of me :/
Nice spin to the Theme, looks obvious but you were the one to think about it !
Love the ink paper style, it works great with the gameplay, it took me 1 minute even after reading the instruction how to fully play it, would be nice to have objectives more than just stay alive, great concept though !
Remember kids, selfies can take lives
Great game, too bad the rock stops you if you stay on top, and the parallax effect is very off.
Very solid graphics, the game is hard to control but it feels great once you understand it. A bit annoying that you can't roll and look at the same time :s, I would love to see this game as a finished product.
Amazing art direction, lots of visual content for a jam. Too bad you didn't have time to implement some feedbacks on the spell buttons, like you did for the menu. Other than that it can be very addictive ^^
Beautiful game, intersting concept, 5 stars for everything, even though the difficulty seems inconsistent from time to time and some pathfinding problem.
Amazing visuals; upgrading is a bit confusing but i think that's just me being dumb x). I get a conan the barbarian and doom vibe from this game.
Why did i die again ?
Jump button was broken for me :(. Also i managed to get up, but you put an invisible ceiling, good call ^^ Screen01.png
A bit too much information for a simple game, the concept is interesting !
I love cookie clicker, this one is great and short, could use a bit more work on the progression curve, but it's a compo so who cares. I think the game over is a bit too harsh, maybe remove half the population like thanos ?
Firing magic balls feels great, I don't think you intended to make the speed potions cumulative.
Amazing compo game, i didn't like the grind part but you made it fast so it didn't bother me that much. The boss fight is certainly the better aspect of this game, so are the visuals.
I love the idea of a sim job mixed with typying gameplay, it was very hard though, one time i got a game over randomly :/
Visual and audio feedbacks are really great in this game !
Roaaarrrr... That took me by surprise
I like dota auto chess too ^^, too bad you don't keep your dead pawns after you win.
GTA, the old time, thanks for the memories.
Finally you can play the bad guys. It's very interesting when you start the game, having to throw bone and construct at the same time, it gets way too easier once you have a finished line of crossbow.
Nice FTL inspired game, amazing graphics and contents for a 2 man jam. Well done !
Now i can open my stocks portoflio and just press space to the beat of the song and avoid obvious red obstacles !
Nice choice of music
Fun and simple
Well, you're really breaking the 4th wall there. Got very much spooked playing this. I stopped moving at some point since it was triggering too much cuts.
You took the theme quite literally ^^. There should be an option to sell all blood :o
The game is cool and all, and i get the game boy theme but it's really hard to know which object to pick up and which to avoid, maaybe add an aura, or just change color.
I want to be able to make more trees ! desgseg.JPG
Felt like samuraï jack for a minute. Don't think the left click attack is necessary to the gameplay, the dash is just so much more fun. I ran in some issue where i tried shashing enemies close to me just to miss them completly.
Why can't i eat the carrots ?
Make it in English as well !
Cool game, reminds me of old flash addictive games I used to play! The concept and drawings are neat
Beautiful sprites and animations everything is so readable. It was a bit hard for me, I couldn't manage to get bullets when coming from a diagonal. Would love to play it again on a controller. Anyway the game is fun and it's a nice idea to have the player dash/attack with bullets.
Thanks for the headphone warning, I got clubbed by a giant pink dude
/!\ Warning, intense feedback ahead /!\ Game was great, short and delightful
Cool execution for a compo game, the music is awesome and hypes you up, but the gameplay is a bit dull in comparison. The major issue for me is the camera which too zoomed in the action, the room are too big and you can go through 10 rooms in a row without an enemy.
Very relaxing and simple game after the jam stress 🙏
@theomaniacal I'm afraid I did 🤡
**WWWWWWEEEEEeeeeeeeee... Ouch**
The drawing transitions/animations were breath-taking.
A clever idea coupled with a masterful execution, this is on par with a Steam quality game. All of this in only 72 hours and alone. The game and its creator deserve our attention and respect, will play again tomorrow!
the game works really well as a game and not just a gimmicky jam game. Can be a bit frustrating at first when not utilizing the slam efficiently but then it gets quickly addicting. I hope you give thoughts to continue working on it after!
**Hats off to you.**
The first minutes are hard but then it gets easier once you get used to the precise control, I learned to go very fast and rotate before hitting walls so that the helicopter has less chance of crashing. I couldn't beat your record though!
What an experience! Very immersive photography game, every effect and little features are perfectly executed. 5 stars all around, would photography again!
@ollieoa Thanks! You can use the horizontal compass to see planets location relative to your position, you also see your velocity direction and planet forward vector.
@bernard-bumblebutt Thanks! There are soundtracks and a lot of SFX, it may be a little too low volume so maybe crank the volume up.
@mitjmcc Thank you, having skippable dialogues or a paused tutorial for the buildings would have helped a long way I think. Originally I went with only 3 buildings and added the 3 others and the converts on the last day. If I develop the project more into a prototype I would develop the strategic part way more and turn it into a CIV or a 4x slow building type of game.
@kyboon Ah yea I feel you, holding W is a bit of an inconvenience if you want to go always straight forward but it was necessary to allow the player to have control on the navigation and ability to stop near planets to refuel quickly without bumping into them.
As for the Hex tiling system I did it the dirtiest way imaginable: earthTile.PNG
Each tile is actually an hex sphere I quickly made in blender and separated into different transforms, then added a sphere collider on each to detect mouse click (this was a real pain to deal with when the planet was going at high velocity) I wouldn't know how to do it properly with only codes though.
@ninjacreeper47 Thank you for taking the time to play and write so much about my game! Like I said in a previous comment I will definitely go for a more strategic type of game rather than an arcady game when I polish the project into a full prototype. It just wasn't feasible for me to do a well balanced and in-depth strategic game for the jam and I quickly decided to add those navigation and scavenging mechanics. And you're right about doing the placement bonus/malus mechanics that would add so much to the strategic side + it would add long term decision making while having to deal with urgent events.
@sharks thanks! You are right about it being a bad decision but to be fair if I had known it was a bad decision I wouldn't have made it. It's just one of those things you learn with experience, how to achieve the desired outcome faster and more efficiently! The ideal mechanics would look like a bonus/malus placement system and very limited placement option but for a 2-3 hours gameplay.
@darthwaxus That's actually a great idea! I originally thought about having asteroids hitting earth if you're going too fast, it would be interesting to have to build defensive structures to protect earth.
This game is the essence of what a jam game dreams to be, short and sweet. It is worth downloading and playing **many many** times!
Best game I've played so far, I was able to understand the mechanics without even reading the description. Every visual feedbacks are on point and the difficulty curve is perfect.
A charming game, very simple and straightforward. It surprises you by the clever use of 2D physics for the water, it certainly does get unstable!
I don't care how much time I fall, I **want** those coins and backflip points!
Very fun game with intuitive rules and control, I got stuck right before the long ramp with a lot of boosters (I got stuck behind the boosters)
Beautifully made game, I really enjoyed the backflip jump addition. It felt like a super mario game. I got filtered by the long distance jump.
For a 6 hours game this is a 5 stars all around, aggressively fun little game. My strategy was to only use one direction and tap very rapidly.
This reminds me a lot of those old flash games I used to be, specifically the one with the stickman that could lose parts of his limbs to stalactites. +5 stars for nostalgia!
I am financially ruined!

Best jam game and also best laugh I've ever had playing in a while.
Really outstanding game for COMPO, the score is striking and the visuals simple but efficient. Your concept art for this game is impressive I'm gonna repost the full image that you posted in a post here for others to appreciate: 50220.png
Masterful entry, Only feedback I have is the same as in the comments, the letter dragging mechanics was not precise enough.
Wow this game goes fast and hard, you guys must have had a very fun time developing this project together. Special mention to the box art and music! It reminds me of those flash games I used to play when I was a kid.
delte.PNG
I successfully broke the game and ran faster than light while jumping around! Music is god-tier as always.
I agree with every positive comments, this game is a masterpiece of a jam and a charming experience. I didn't have the "home" key on my keyboard so I had to google what it was on AZERTY keyboards. I really dig the idea of having all the tools to finish the game at the beginning but you don't know about it.
The game gets more interesting as you play it, it has a strong and clever mechanics as well as beautiful visual art combined to make a great experience. Also multiplication is OP.
Wow, it's so much fun trying to get a highscore in this! The best strategies I have come up with is shooting a fireball before entering a room and going close to the gate when there's 1 enemy left. The animation of the match dying in the water pool is the saddest death I've seen in video games. Masterful entry!
@vhalenn @hengen @grif-in @charliemrl @la-bread @david-stevenson @simex @trusty @cedric86 @eoshadows Thank you guys for playing and enjoying my game.
@amythyst @ace17 I originally went the real-time texture way but that was not optimized enough to let me draw a full level worth of texture. So instead I did the most intuitive thing and used custom particle systems. Everytime you scan you generate only 1 particle system that will batch with the nearest other particle systems. If a particle detects a moving object then it becomes another particle system that will attach itself to the moving object. And finally the water moving particle are simply the same ones but with shader trickery inside them.
@juss Haha we even had the same idea with batteries! Your entry was very masterfully done and it made me really think about the choices I made in mine about the scan.
@alex-de-la-cour @p-r @juss @razor-zorax Thank you!
@mr-rice Yes it was heavily inspired by that game. I used Unity.
@honest-dan Thanks! Also thanks a lot to the players who experienced my game!
@kuviman door number 4 is a lie
@jusw85 Yea unfortunately some walls are glitched if you force them, I realised that specific bug right after the end of the jam :[
Everything in this jam game is on point, the graphics being the most impressive. I saw your post on the main page during the jam and couldn't wait to see the finished project, you guys did not disappoint! 5/5
That was a nice strategy game entry, I could lose so much time trying to optimize the ressources. I agree a bit with the RNG comments saying it plays a big part in the game outcomes. Overall a very satisfying game when it clicks right, I played the downloadable executable and the game was running super fine and has good looking graphics! great job from you two!
What an interesting play, I have a sweet spot for visual novels-type games and this one definitely scratch that spot. I wish there was a secret ending of successfully joining the cult, trying to find the end of the game by leaving the house was fun!
Wow wow wow.. What a beautiful entry, the art is as good as the unique concept. Having to make sure your abomination stay alive as well as your own player is a good puzzle/platformer concept. I had to alt-tab out of the game because I knew there was a "turn-around" command but couldn't remember the the input for it. Masterful entry!
Oh wow I didn't expect this idea from the theme! Very lovely narrative and hand drawn art AND it's a compo entry!! I'm super glad to have come across and played this game, such a good gem.
Hot damn that was FUN! Homemade voice acting is an automatic 5/5 on all aspects in my book and it was well done + super funny. The tutorial incorporated to the narration was a good move and it felt very flowy. That second farmer jesse got me scared to audit accurately
That was a nice factorio-like game! I don't understand the first comment about performance, it ran like butter on my end and there's also a downloadable executable. The first minutes of gameplay is a bit rough to grasp, but then when I understood that the little blobs are the workers and that there are ressources and factories I knew what to do. Great job guys, this is very on par with the theme!
I knew the moment I saw the gifs that I would love this game! And indeed, I did! From the funny title to the core gameplay this is a gem most jammers should play. Very intuitive and you can clearly see a lot of hard work has been put into it to make sure it is a smooth and joyful experience. And I wholeheartedly agree with the gamepad option comment, that would be sick! Great job guys, you should be proud of this one!
@emaigualmc2-art @m0zrat @hmrpf @duke-ua @yaroslav-kravtsov @teadrinker Thanks for playing our game ❤!
@exilon Cheers for playing, we definitely had an amazing team!
WOW! You outdid yourself in graphics on this one, really dig the visuals and overall mood. I had to play it on full screen for the controls to behave as intended. Best LD53 jam game by far ✨
Fun and addicting game as always! Great job man 😊
Nightmare fuel, loved it! Thank you Mr. Simex for spending your money for my enjoyment 😁
Stellar game, incredible for a compo! I made a stickman rocket :^) stick.png
I would have LOVED to control the pogo stick jump with space, but mouse click is also quite good, it does require a bit of getting used to it. Very rewarding
@slow-chaz Cheers! 💗
When I saw the intro art I knew it was gonna be kino, I love your art style
The gamefeel is very addictive and you would think that not having an indication on the killing height threshold would be a bad thing, but it's not! I would love to play a full game like this that would explore it more with speed momentum platforming segments. Amazing job!
Best example of music elevating a game, what a gem
This reminds me of a pong game that was talked about at a Ted talk and it was about juicing up a very simple game to a game oozing with visual feedbacks and feel good mechanics, this is that game!
Like @littlegamer mentioned AZERTY keyboards are the unofficial HARD mode. I love the feel and the overall animation polish of each segments, it feels like a well-made mini game that you would find in a mario party game, love it!
I expected the plot twist to be you're a monster smashing people on the ground to fill up your rage or something, very well done in terms of linear progression and vibes
The initial twist that you are a portrait yourself was quite good
Another one of your 5/5 game, really in-depth management game with very clear graphics and descriptions, like others pointed out I hated the event of items going back to the stash and I would have loved to have the tooltip show instantly rather than waiting a full second each time to read what the family the item belongs to, I also kept forgetting about getting the items before the timer runs out during expeditions, which to be honest was very counter intuitive even though it's written clearly that you must get the items before the timer runs out.
@hexela @bearcage @jo-bettaque @rionisse @lil-chyn @kayrum @awanami @leo115 @accardo @dullai @korzhik @nextnoon @ghpxi @umc049 Thank you for playing, I appreciate the kind words and feedbacks!
@umc049 The game is heavily RNG-based and so there is a chance of getting bad luck even with all the luck modifiers, for instance the chance of getting an additional tool is 1% and the chance of obtaining the rarest stone is 2% so you were extremely unlucky. And sorry about the crash, I didn't have time to optimize it
