Nice, especially how the music fits the story and how the story also fits very well into the theme.
An impressive amount of work you finished in 48 hours, gameplay is fun and quite challenging. Sadly i never got to the end so i wont be rating theme.
This was great! Chaos, nice music in the background and really nice driving mechanics. This is a winner right here
Great game that is enjoyable and well designed, requiring the player to know what he is doing to earn a profit, well worth playing
A nice game overall that has a ton of potential. But too little content too keep the game interesting.
A nice fun game with great artwork
A nice game overall, but its the polish that really makes me like it.
The game was nice and complimented the nice small story, it also has suberb sound effects and voice acting, great work!
Its a good concept alright. And im pretty sure if you make the graphics better, put in some nice sound effects and polish the hell out of it, it will be very impressive.
Quite a fun game that has an interesting take on the theme, nice and challenging overall
The game's story really fits the theme. The dialogs also add a touch of humor to the game and overall, its pretty good
A unique game that requires the player to have a powerful grasp on the games mechanics. The game also has nice graphics and sound effects
A nice challenging game to play that has nice graphics and good gameplay mechanics.
But, as above stated, it is also quite challenging to control the birds with keyboard controls, hopefully this can be fixed in the future. Good job!
A fun game that put an interesting twist to the classic leveling system. The controls are smooth and the game fits the theme quite nicely.
A fun game that puts your muiltitasking skills to the limit. Really fun to play
A fun game that puts your muiltitasking skills to the limit. Really fun to play
This hit home a lil too hard
The link has been changed to a public link, it should work now but just in case id like you to test it.
Please reply to this comment whether it works or not.
That is the source code, the game is the EXE. It also appears i messed up the links again, UGGGGGH.
Links are fixed now, sorry guys.
Hah, I already watch him, his tutorials are great, best of luck on your game.
Nice and fun with a smooth artwork. The game also really fits the theme as it really is hard to avoid falling crates the more cargo you have.
A nice game that was well put together, simple and meets the theme well. But you need to plan your route very carefully because, as above said, the high density of masses makes the game very hard late game. Music was great
A nice fun strategy game that needs the player to look ahead for his every move as masses can bunch up in the worst of locations. The music is nice and the game also fits the theme well.
Sorry for double posting, this was an accident, though the one ontop didnt register
Suberb, the music compliments the game great and those graphics are fantastic! And for making this much in just 48 hours im very impressed
A challenging game with great artwork and smooth animations, it also gets harder and harder as time progresses. Sound effects are also nice
Same problem as the above, which is a shame because of how nice it looks.
Damn, this was a hard game. But I really liked the concept and I was pretty well polished. Good job.
Untitled.png
Got smooshed :<
Welp
Welp.png
This was an interesting game that for me had great atmosphere, with the birds and the walking footsteps. The aesthetics were also great and the animations were smooth and nice.
The flood mechanics were a nice touch for the theme, but I think this game can be greatly expanded upon (maybe a building system and more enemies). A very nice game overall.
This game was very well polished and the tutorial for me was well executed. I also liked the simplistic music and sound effects, along with the solid gameplay.
Untitled.png
Is this intentional tho? I see it as a cool effect but just curious.
@pixelformedstudios The HTML version.
The idea was nice and well polished, although the jumping felt a little weird for me.
This game had an extremely impressive amount of polish, the controls were also smooth and nice.
The only problem I had is that if I messed up too much I would be forced to start over.
Overall, great job
A nice, sweet lil game I came across that I enjoyed quite alot, nice work.
I knew it! You were malware/a virus!
"Oh god damn what a typewriter" Was the impression of my first playthrough of this game, and it was fun
The graphics and music were fantastic, and it really takes on the theme in an interesting way.
Great job!
A nice, if not mind boggling game. The puzzles were fun, and I enjoyed the gameplay quite well.
My only complaint was that I repeatedly failed to find the answer to some of the puzzles (maybe im too dense), but overall, I had fun
I have the same problem as the person above, plz fix
Hah, I really liked this game, not only did it fit the theme well in its own way, but it was also simple and the art was very well done.
Great job
A creative and pretty bloody puzzle game that was quite interesting. Nice job.
Its pretty good, the controls feel smooth and the art for the game is amazing! Shame you didn't finish it for the Jam. But I feel this game has great potential and if expanded upon can be great. Good luck!
Huh, its so simple, yet so fun.
The music was nice and soothing, and overall, well, its simple ill give it that.
Maybe give it an end goal or something and maybe add more features.
Its just so simple, idk what to say.
Onwards my minions!
The game was quite nice, feeling somewhat like an actual miniature wargame, although some tiles could not be conquered even when not occupied. I was ok with the 3D view and I feel this game could be nicely expanded upon.
Good job with making this game.
Had a nice laugh, but other than clicking there wasn't much else to do, is this intentional or was there an end goal? (or was "everyone ded" the end goal?). Ether way I liked the art and the atmosphere was well done. GJ
A very simple polished game that I enjoyed quite nicely. Although I admit that there isint much to do than click. But other than that, nice game.
Thanos OP plz nerf
A very well made game. The gameplay felt smooth and solid, and the art, animations and sound just really gave me a great time.
A high score of 69!
The mood and atmosphere of this game was superb, nice and calm as you went through this guys life. The typing mechanic was also something new and interesting, which I liked. Although I really sucked at sorting those memories.
It was fun, and the graphics were nice, the gameplay could use some polish, but overall good job.
A jolly little game, I liked the tetris style building mechanic and how the theme was implemented. The music was also quite nice.
A nice little strategy game overall.
Quite a nice little game, I liked the small comic that explained the story, and the gameplay was quite nice. Got lost quite often but thats part of the game i guess.
As for complaints, nothing that hasn't been mentioned. Overall, good job
Untitled.png
"Shit......, that cant be good"
This game was quite more than met the eye for me, with the challenge slowly picking up, I must admit, it was quite fun. The only problem was that sometimes I click but the box doesn't enter my hands, but thats ok for me.
Overall, nicely made game that is quite nice.
Its a nice little platformer, but the collisions could be reworked abit (getting stuck on walls and really sensitive acid pits). Some background music and/or sound effects could also be added. But overall good job!
This was a funny and nicely done game. Good job.
A small tutorial of sorts could be nice tho.
Damn those hooligans! Overall I enjoyed this game quite nicely and it was quite nice. Good job.
A pretty nice game ,the concept was good, and it had just enough juice to keep me interested for quite awhile.
Good job
ITS SO CUTE
The game is nice and really fun, and except for the somewhat wacky physics the game was very polished. A very solid game overall.
This was a reaaally fun little game, the files and graphics were very very well done, and at first glance from the screenshots I really though this was actual malware.
Enjoyed it very much, with nothing much to complain about.
This was a very very fun game that I enjoyed alot, and although it didnt fit the theme super well, the concept and graphics, along with smooth gameplay made it a very nice experience.
Also, very very nice polish.
Test
Yay, it works, hope everyone rates honestly, even if it can hurt
@incinious @vfabien21 , gotcha guys! I have now tweaked it abit so that it only pops up once, hope this may improve the experience for you guys and future players.
I have removed the Fade-in-and-out effect! Because the satisfaction of my players trump all! (although the pace, I admit, is still damn slow)
@bloc97 @pnghasemi @my-sweet-whomp Listening to the feedback from you guys ,I have added a new "fullscreen" version of the game (although the graphic quality may drop abit). I have also added a quick pick up (hover mouse over item and Shift-Click) and a drop all button.
As for @boltkey, yes this was made in the paid version of Clickteam fusion, however I can make a cut down version that should be able to run on the free one (will need some time tho, and is uncertain whether is doable).
Enjoy!
Actually, worrying that I might be breaking the rules adding the quick pick up and drop feature (since you cant add new features), I removed them, sorry guys.
ill keep the fullscreen version tho.
Also added two bottles of water and a box of food.
Yeh :> @ahvulon-jun
@timbelion @hollandgeng @megalink @cristihkj @ganonwarrior @darenn @estudios-y-producciones-gusa @ventura Thank you guys for all the comments and feedback!
@derpyjish Yeah, I kinda implemented a quick pickup and drop feature after the 72 hours, but later removed it due to possible violation of the rules. Ill re-add it after the Jam tho. Thanks for the feedback.
@kr4ft3r I agree, it takes alot of time to get back to where you were if you died and had to replay. Unfortunately I was unable to think of a reliable way to save and reload checkpoints. I might try adding one after the Jam tho. Thanks for the feedback!
@max-cahill The dirt clumps were originally the same size as the hole you dug, and the smaller clumps were added at the last minute, unfortunately this meant I did not have enough time to implement the mechanic to re-dig these clumps (planned time needed to dig was 30 minutes). I will be adding the ability to re-dig these clumps after the Jam however. Thanks for the feedback!
@astralore The ticket, for some unfathomable reason, would vanish if you picked up and later dropped it. Why this happens I unfortunately don't know even after digging through the code. Will try fixing it but don't hope too much.
As for the collisions, yes, CF2.5's built in collision is pretty shitty, and this was made worse because of the massive amount of dirt blocks. I MIGHT redo the collisions, but also don't hope too much. (And I intentionally left in the wall glitch for those who wanted to finish the game faster.)
Yeah, text is smaaaaallll, which is why I added the "Fullscreen" version, unless it was still very small, to which I am at a loss.
The missing cursor is because I forgot to re-enable it after the ending screen, whoops, small quick fix added.
As for the glowsticks, the game was originally absurdly dark. In fact I might just make it absurdly dark for a new "hard mode".
Thanks for the feedback!
Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up, Thank you.
Its an interesting game, and the concept of running out of table space is not bad. I also liked the abundance of references. Overall, nicely done.
Heart Attack.png
"I assure you sir, that you will hopefully not get a heart attack."
Although at first I didn't get it, the game turned out to be fun and pleasant. I liked it
A very nice little game that fit the theme well, the graphics were also simple but to the job done. Ai was abit stupid, but still got the job done. Very nice.
“马超, 还不快一点上车?”
Not bad for a first jam game. It was a little confusing at first without a proper tutorial, but when I finally found out the controls the gameplay was relatively simple but fun. Good Job.
A very nice little game, but the randomness of the lava kinda ruined it abit for me, there could be small patches that tell you how long before the lava pops out, or maybe which direction it might come in, but it has quite some potential.
The game also crashes somewhat, and the lack of a tutorial meant I was abit confused with the controls (I was ok tho).
Overall, not bad and can be expanded upon, good job.
A fun , nice little game that I feel has some nice potential. I enjoyed the gameplay, but saw no winning goal, is there any?
Ah, ok, thanks for clearing that up @ratys
Very nice and simple game. I liked how the tutorial covered everything and how well done it was and the graphics were simple but easy to see. Good job
The game was really sweet, especially for something done in only 72 hours. The intro and atmosphere was very well set up, and the animations look sweet.
Unfortunately im reaaally bad with creepy stuff and chickened out halfway through, but that just shows how well this was done.
Very good job.
A very nice game that was very well polish, the art style and graphics were also nicely drawn. Great job.
Man, you guys managed to make quite some stuff within 3 days. I liked the survival aspect of the game and the music was quite fitting, expand on this and the game may very well stand up on its own.
The only complaint I have is that it would be nice that there was some sort of indication when your guy is hurt or loosing health.
Great job, and great potential.
It was pretty nice game that was well done, and managed to keep my interest for quite a long time.
For me this game was top notch, the gameplay was fun (albiet hard) and the graphics along with audio were suberb, I loved it.
Really great job
"No, you alien thingies go awwwaaaaaayyy"
A nice fun little game that was quite nice, however I encountered a problem in which halfway through the game would just freeze and stop working.
Nevertheless, enjoyed it.
The game was quite nice for me, I liked the music and sound and the art was very cute. 70% was abit too hard for me tho. Great job.
The game was quite nice, and I liked both the art style and the sound effects. I am not used to the movement however. I also hope the game can also be expanded upon (with, maybe, a menu and a tutorial) , since it has great potential.
Overall, good job.
A nice little game with a nice soundtrack, unfortunately I had, well, no idea what I was doing.
It would be nice if expanded upon tho.
An interesting and fun strategy game that I enjoyed quite well. My only complaint is that it takes awhile to read through the words, but overall, quite fun.
And damn those monsters ripped me apart.
A simple but nice game, at first it was abit confusing, but the gameplay was fun.
Kinda cant see after a bunch of boxes started stacking around the road pretty badly, but that didnt impend the game alot.
Overall, good job
The game was fun.At first I didnt know that clicking on the file would prompt the game. The colour game also seemed RNG based. But overall, its not bad.
The audio was hilarious, and the gameplay was quite smooth. I liked the strategy aspect of the game and overall it was quite fun.
You did quite a nice job with this game, I like it
The music plus the screen blur nicely set the mood (although it was abit too loud for me) and the graphics were well done. But the controls and the movement could be improved. But ether way, nice work.
Its a nice game idea, but the small display and the lack of a tutorial made the first few minutes a little confusing (rapid and randomly placing down mines and farms).
Nevertheless, when I got a hang of the game it was quite nice and addictive, and quite some potential.
Overall, good job.
Hmmm , not bad, add some polish and redo the shooting (maybe a few mechanics) and I betcha it could stand on its own 2 feet.
Not bad, especially for a first jam, and don't give up.
Untitled.png
Yep, this is fine.
Jokes aside, the game was really well done, you managed to fit the theme in well and originally. And the simplistic graphics and sound effects were quite nicely done.
Also, if you hit a car too hard it will go flying, and you can just drive cars right off the road.
But overall, nicely done.
It was pretty good, but like they said RNG is abit of a problem. However the big problem for me was not knowing where shit was as the board was quite large at the start and when reset.
However is pretty good, and if expanded upon may be quite interesting.
This game was very well done and the polish was great. The graphics and art style were simple but nice and the massive emptiness of dark blue gives a good feeling of space.
Very well done and has alot of potential.
Man that startscreen blinded me, and some of the files were abit confusing. The game however was quite fun and if polished more can be nicely taken up a step.
Why are there so many people, and why are they so nice to kill?!?!?
Hah, this game gave me quite a laugh, and I enjoyed it quite well, good job. And because of how simple the controls were, along with with how solid the gameplay was, I got nothing to really complain about. Nice
Not a bad game. I like how it got more challenging as you go. The music was also fantastic.
A bit more polish and an end screen would have done wonders however.
Overall, nice job
Lovely little game. I loved the art style and the simple game play. The music was also very suiting.
Great job!
A simple, but understandable and fun game. I really liked it.
Nothing much I can really complain about. Maybe a bit more polish, can't give you much more help. Sorry.
Great Job!
The game was nice and fit the theme well, the only short coming was that it was rather short, but with such a time limit I guess it has to be expected.
2 more things, maybe a few more sound effects to flesh of the world better, and:
Untitled.png
In my opinion this could serve as a great story line for a fully made point-and-click adventure game, and I hope it get greatly expanded upon, nice work!
Very very very nice game! For me it perfectly captures the feel during a game jam. The feeling of trying to cram as much stuff as you can into your game while still struggling with rest, and the deadline. And the art and sound effects, along with music hold up this game up nicely.
Fantastic job!
"Cmooooooooon, you can do itttttt"
Untitled.png
I had fun playing the game, the 3D and texture work were great, I also like anesthetic you chose.
The flying-between-stations part was a really nice touch, although the difficultly ramps up quite steeply. Maybe some sort of checkpoint system? (one every say, 3-5 lvls? or maybe even a different gamemode all together!)
@falak Thank you! This is actually the fastest I've had someone play my game after posting it. Appreciate the praise and support!
@sockyman Cheers for liking it, and good luck!
@pandan The polish button is pretty much the same as the 'code game' and 'debug' buttons. In game deving terms its basically making the game more pretty, user friendly etc.
Just ment to add variety, nothing more. And the more polish the better your rank will be.
@folex70 I don't really know if clickteam fusion can port to the web, can try tho but don't hold high hopes.
@theseusinabottle Lest you are a god, those two would hold you back forever.
And lack of motivation, that too.
@glen-chang Well then thats atleast the 'humor' front settled, thanks for playing and sharing your experience!
@folex70 Sorry but the web thing is kinda outside of my skill level, since I've never dabbled in web design before.
Maybe next time.
@acoto87 Thank you for the opinion and the praise!
@codekim It can't be that bad, can it? Wish you good luck and a satisfactory life.
@squirmonkey Well its good to know this game is heading into the right direction.
'I wish it were possible to know a little more about what goes into deciding if I make progress or not'
Now that's an idea, a good one, might add a lil decision (or something) screen every time you finish something. Thanks!
And don't worry, it's the game that counts.
**Right?**
@erendelous Thanks for letting me know how you feel about the game, feedback is important.
@stepan-shabalin I can work on moving the game download to an Itch.io page, but it would take some time, gimme a few moments and ill get to work. I also apologize that I forgot to note that **to run the game on Mac and Linux, you would need something like Wine**.
@apace Thanks for the feedback!
@triplefox Yeah, the game was kinda built based towards the nightmare side of game jamming, there was some thought given to the other side, but out of worry for the project spiraling out of control was quickly dropped. As for more complex strategic decision making part, most of the ideas you pointed out are very good - including the last paragraph - but to properly incorporate these I would need to re-plan the entire game from the bottom, since the current version of the game wasn't made with such things in mind, and things can quickly get messy adding all these features without a proper plan. In fact, I might as well remake the entire game from stratch, not that im against it.
Nonetheless, thank you very much for honestly voicing your opinion, I appreciate it.
@stepan-shabalin Forgot to mention, there is in fact sound and music and everything, maybe its because of Wine?
**Download links have been moved to an Itch.io page!**
@teapoly Thanks, that means I nailed the 'feel'.
Although it would be kinda sad for LD in general if that was the case
@daniel-abeleira Thanks, im happy not only I was hyped about the game!
@pandan It does, atleast on my side, can you by chance send a screenshot or gif showing what you mean't?
@james-leib I'll see bout it :>
@james-leib Sorry James but... Clickteam Fusion is rly kinda old and I have no idea how to set up the Mac Exporter.
Sorry, but you're gonna need to stick to Wine for now.
@snakemuho Welp, I just ate and coded, so not much different here. Thanks for playing!
@sanyingli Thank you for the high star! I am thankful that you played my game, wish you good luck.
@pxlucasf Thanks for the feedback. The comments at the end were on of the favorite parts of the game for me, since it feels like people are somewhat actually kinda responding to you.
@gamers-blood-entertainment Thanks. The 'life intervenes' part is actually based on some of my previous jams were life got massively in the way (only the family reunion actually happened). Hopefully never again!
@august1413 Thanks for the high praise, promise I won't let you down!
@fullmontis I will need to investigate that 'polish and cut content' don't work part, since they really should. Thanks for letting me know!
@eldemarkki Ah, the cursor.... couldn't tell.... Well theres something to fix there, thanks for telling! Also, regarding the 'XXX doesn't do anything' problem, just keep clicking, for some reason sometime the clicks won't register, even after clicking for quite awhile. Sorry!
@eryph Those review at the end are the fav part of the game for me, they add a lil life you know?
Oof, a bug, although I kinda didn't plan for <> 1980p, im honored you played anyway.
@owen-davies Don't worry! You grind away hard enough with enough determinations along with high expectations, and I assure you will hit a mark higher than you planned for. Good luck!
**I need to go to bed now, will reply to comments after more than a coupla hours**
**I'm back!**
@iluvatar Thanks, maybe next jam you can do even better than mine! Who knows?
@racyrebel Well at least in real life you can have the best of both worlds!
If you're in a team that is.
If not well then good luck, im sure you can pull it off healthily. Thanks for the comment!
@apccr Thanks for telling me, ill make a larger version in the future.
@spidermonkeylord For the game, anything is worth it! Thx for playing!
Welp, at least your not the one suffering it.
@sargonius Thank you!
@dk5000p Hah, if that's what you think then that's what it is, even if it was not intended so. As for the coffee, no sleep and optimizing-your-game-development within the game (there isin't actually a way sadly), I'll see to it if there ever is a sequel. Appreciate the feedback!
@jeremy-ryan Shame, thanks for playing!
@artur-hawkwing Thank you for the praise, and about the coded / debugged text, I disagree..... I think their a great idea! And one that would not have over-done it.
Hell had I gotten the idea before I posted the game I would have added it for sure! Considering I still had about 2 hours left. Some more sound effects also can't hurt.
Thank you for playing! And say hi for me to all your friends as well.
@saoi-games Thank you! Live feedback or recorded feedback is always some of the most valuable. Also sorry to hear that you were sick over the weekend.
Theres is also a second Ludum Dare:The Game, of the same name that is very good, you should go try it as well, not mine of course: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/ludum-dare-the-game-1 . Im also sorry about all the 'didn't make progress' moments, its based on how high your necessities meters are, the higher they are the more likely you will prgress.
Unfortunately this is pretty RNG based, and luck is not always win one lose one.
Once again, thanks for playing, and good luck!
@kanacell, Thanks for conveying your feelings of the game, and I will gladly come and play to the game you guys made!
@joker-v,thanks for playing! As for the little bad ending, the more blocks (or tiles) you make by coding, the better the ending will be, which is kind of hard considering how RNG based progress is.
@madhumster Thank you!
@spigaru Yeah, and I think the tutorial just made it even more confusing, ill be sure to make gameplay more easy to understand in my future works. Thanks for telling us how you feel!
@fre I agree, game decisions, and to an extend the game itself are quite shallow. I hope to change this in the future. All the possible fixes were also great. Thank you for playing!
@maksym Yep, there are toooons of possibilities for expanding this game, which means I might just re-design and re-make the game in the future, who knows? And yeah, that is one incredibly simple but major glitch to fix, ill get to it! Thx for your feedback!
@vojtiman Thank you, hope you enjoyed!
@neowhoru Thanks for the praise! I guess they are in fact similar in some ways.
@fat-cat Ooof, the polish button vanished? I'll need a screenshot for that. Thanks for pointing that out for me.
@vlad-dae Welp, I hope you guys are still friends after that. Thank you for playing, and I hope you guys have a good friendship!
@spierek Yeah, I need to scale down the difficulty, at least now you actually pointed it out! Thanks!
@maksym Patched it up! Once again thanks for letting me know, hope you have fun rating games :>
@hexbit-josh **The greatest sacrifice of all!** hahaha, hope you had fun, GL in life!
@cr0wns Thanks for anticipating the game and im happy it lived up to expectations! Damn that debug/polish bug keeps coming back to haunt me. Also I've never heard or seen the boxes issue before, hmmmmm (or maybe its just me).
@torn Yeah, the pop-ups were added to kinda drag the theme into the game. I also whole heartedly agree with you that the game was just a bit too simple! (At least in my eyes and I assume yours too) Most of the actions you do have no meaning and overall its shallower than a puddle.
Something I hope to fix in this game's sequel I keep talking about, no guarantee it will appear tho.
Great thanks for the honest feedback!
@najmm Fair enough, thanks for playing!
@pantoufle Ah yes I noticed, hell I played your game as well, and in terms of executions yours was better than mine. Great job on it.
Also plan on lowering the difficulty a bit, thanks for the feedback!
@a333 Well, the time for team based game play will come when I get to be in one!
*I wanna join a team too dammit*
The anesthetic was based around games of about that era, and was mostly focused around dithering, glad you liked it! Also, health is important, not that I can say much with 5 hours of sleep!
Thanks for playing!
@nucleartide Thanks for the praise and playing!
**Need to sleep, will reply to any comments after I wake up**
**Oh god that's alot of comments to reply to**
@random-wizard Thanks!
@themarioga Thank you! I was hoping to capture the feeling of just life getting into the way of some things!
@arcus Thx!
@xcvzxc Well that's good new isn't it? Thank you for playing!
@anstabo Welp, some do, especially when they reaaaally hate the theme. Also, thanks for complementing the menu! Glad you had fun!
@craftlord Thank you!
@ravarion Some friend are just not worth having! Especially those. Or maybe hes just drunk who knows? Anyway, thanks for playing!
@toast-toaster Oof, you know, let me give you some advice on attracting players:
**One:** ***play*** **and rate games**
Im pretty sure you know this but by playing and rating other people's games, you earn "karma". This gives your game higher priority and places it higher up in the list, letting more people see and potentially play it.
**Two: leave feedback**
Leaving feedback gives you coolness points! This also gives your game higher priority, and a lot more than rating! Just please leave good, honest feedback, people appreciate it.
**Three: advertise via blogs**
At least 80% of my players were from my blog ad campaign. Advertise your game by posting blogs, and make your ads attractive. You want people to go "ooooooooooo", not ignore it. Some variation also helps.
Thats about all the advice I can give you. Wish you luck next time!
@ynneblack Art shall imitate whatever it's creator wants it to! Or at least mostly (cough cough NoManSky). Im sorry that the cut button wasn't immediately clear to you.
Sadly... no... there are no sekret rewards for accepting pop-ups, but I plan to make then have good benefits in the game's remake! Finally, I will change the buttons to make them better suit the player, because the customer is always right.
Thanks for the feedback!
@der-finski Thx for playin!
@jupiter-hadley OOOOOOOOO MY GAME IS IN A COMPILATION, YAY! Thank you! I really thank you for featuring the game in your compilation, I hope you had fun!
@jared-york I nailed everything but the nice side of game jamming! Something to which I hope to add in the game's remake. Thanks for playing!
***When I typed till here the first time I accidentally closed the tab, and had to re-type everything above this line..........FUU-***
@stu I sure hope so! Thx for the opinion!
@silvae And here comes the creator of LD simulator nbr 3! Yes! There are 3 LD simulators! In the same LD! ( https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/ludum-dare-the-game-1 ) And man were the results different. Anyway, thank you for playing! And yes, the real life jam was slightly less stressful, hope yours had none!
@velvetlobster I sure hope so! Thx for playing!
@potatoez Oh it is? Well you should try the real LD one day. I assure you it would be a looot better! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@rjhelms I can safely say the idea was from a real experience! Although yes, success was quite in fact too random, something I need to change in the game's re-make. I also agree on the pop-ups, it could really make the soup tastier! Thanks for playing!
@drevilbrain Thanks! That was kind of the effect I was going for. I also made the person view full colour in an attempt to mix art styles. Hope you had fun!
@kindred , thank you for playing the game on the stream and I greatly appreciate the live feedback. Im sorry I didn't stick around soon after my game was played. I had some stuff I really needed to do... sorry.
@nightvision65 I agree, the playability was baaaad. Thanks for complementing the others tho, and thanks for playing!
@catbutt Thx!
***Done, Jesus this reply list is longer than my post-mortem***
@martincohen Oooooh! That's a really beautiful game! Props to whoever did the art! Thanks for playing!
@arvejeitor Hah! True, but they say too many chefs spoil the... something (I think it was broth or soup, idk) Ether way Im glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
@crosenlund79 Yeah, this game got waaaaaaaay more players than I expected, so many I also think I don't deserve. Thanks for wanting to try my game however!
@gerardb Well if you got a laugh out of it then Im happy! Thx for playing!
@rattaspi Thank you!
@gamefive 고맙습니다! 나는 당신이 그럭저럭 내가 그것을 좋아하는 방법을 경험할 수 있었기 때문에 기쁘다. 그리고 나는 당신이 재미 있었기를 바란다!
@digitaldude555 I agree, I never got to implement a more important impact for the sacrifices sadly. Hope you enjoyed tho!
@sockyman Hope it goes better than ingame! Thx for playing!
@totalaj The phone wasn't worth it anyway! Thank you for playin1
@kitarraman Well thats an interesting experience. At least nothing really bad happened during the real life jam (I hope not at least). Thanks for playing! Hope you had fun!
@rumor That's a good idea! And I agree, nothing is more motivating than great progress. Thanks for playing!
@lexyvil You might not need to sacrifice everything for a game jam to be fun. In the end, it's the experience that matters. Thx for playin!
@myfriendtames Thank you for the praise! And thx for playing!
@gri-bel Thx!
@crosenlund79 Thank you for playing the game! Glad you did in fact played it.
@martincohen Niiiicccceeeeeeeee!
@watdowtal That's good news. I feel that mood within a game is extremely important. And this can be hard to nail because of all the different things that can effect it (scene, music, sound effects etc...). And I admit there were quite a few aspects of game jamming I didn't catch sadly. As for the balancing, I'm glad you liked it! Tho I need to make it less RNG based. Thanks for playing!
**Sorry for the late replies, I was on a long holiday. And I wasn't comfortable typing them on my phone. Anyway:**
@drikdrok Oh, that bug... I though I fixed it actually, oh well. Thx for pointing it out though! And thx for playing!
@wdebowicz Thank you! The visuals was the main focus for me for this jam. Although this slightly sacrificed sound and gameplay. As for gaming, welp, one round before back to programming right? Just one round.
@kszaku Yeah there were balancing issues. Something I need to fix next jam. Thanks for playing!
@franciszek-pyrc Thank you! My next target is 320 ratings next LD! Also, great job on your game, I like the concept behind it.
@flashviper Good job, its always a good idea to let people know when events like these are going to happen. And thanks for playing!
*More polish? No....waaayy......*
@aim Thanks for the constructive criticism! Because I mostly focused on the visuals, the other two aspects (sound and feel) kind of suffered, sound especially, which is sad which I think every game deserves a good range of sound effects and music. As for the 'Why-you-no-get-shet-done-no-feedback' part, it was, for better or for worse, not intentional.
And sleeping on problems do fix them sometimes surprisingly. :>
@ratherjolly A "Spouse and kid" addition... mmmm theres an idea right there. If I ever make a sim of the sort again I assure you ill try to add one! Thanks for playing! Happy LDing!
@jusw85 Well, some themes just want to make you go that way tbh! And I'll admit, that's basically what happened to me.
As for the art style, I wanted to try out dithering, which I used *alot* of. What resulted wasn't so bad, although there can be some improvements. This also gave it an old 'retro' like effect, looking like something that originated from a time where there were just so few colours to work with.
As for the gameplay, it is in fact quite random, and the problem is that you don't get to see how random, which can lead to some frustrating moments unfortunately.
Thanks for playing nonetheless!
@firebug Is that so? I like nicely done pixel games as well, along with simplistic art styles in game jam games (not that I don't like complicated things). Im also kinda sorry about the click bug since I was unable to fix it (I seriously have no clue why it happens). As for the family part, it was more or less intended as a joke. Mainly about a not-very-big situation blown way out of proportion. Thanks for playing!

Bit late but uh, **wish you guys a Merry Christmas!**
And a happy new year.
I played with headphones on, Jesus Christ my ears. Would also be nice if there was a bit more polish (perhaps smoother animations).
Also didn't know space was jump and you could double jump, atleast not immediately.
Other than that however, its a good game with a solid core. Hope it gets expanded upon.
Untitled.png
Pls fix, this looks like it has potential.
Might wanna reply to me if you fix it
@themadprogramer mhm, srry for getting back to you so late.
@themadprogramer Same error :/
Oof, I can't do horror games, I always chicken out.
I really like how the atmosphere was done, and how the tension was built up, along with the intro.
It was a bit loud however, a volume setting would be nice.
@albuquerque I joined the last 4. :>
A nice game, but it would be nicer if the play area was a little bigger, and the border would act like asteroids, bouncing you back with a health penalty, instead of just letting you pass through and die.
The ship was also somewhat hard to control. Not bad for a game jam game tho.
A small, simple, and very polished game. The music really sets the mood: urgent, without time to lose! It also fits the theme very well. The art is neat.
Overall it's a very solid and robust game, I like it.
The game was reaaally fun, simple, but fun. The sound and graphics worked nicely together and the music was very good.
One critique I have for this game is that it was a little too loud for me since I was wearing headphones, a volume setting would be nice. I also don't really see how the theme was incorporated except for the slime killing and I don't really know how you get level up points.
A nice lil sound effect or something when you get one of those level up points would also be fantastic.
Finally, during the only time I died outside of the first room, I was met with this error, it was in the very long room with all the red blobs.
Untitled.png
Nonetheless, considering the time limit and just how fun the game was, I'd say it was a success.
Fun little game with a silly concept, nonetheless I liked it. I also like the challenge that was moving the entire squad and not accidentally driving half of them into one of those spinny red boxes.
"This is a problem"
Untitled.png
The game has some nice sound and music and the graphics were neat.
A 'speed up' button or 'skip' button would be nice however, so I might not need to wait the full 30 seconds sometimes (I know I know patience, but its the 21st century).
Also took me a couple of rounds before I was comfortable with the game.
Overall, a sweet little game, not bad.
Not bad. The idea was solid and the music was really nice, models were also great.
2 things: the sound was really very loud for me (was wearing headphones). And 8 people in my opinion is a little too many for a game jam.
Nonetheless, good job!
That atmosphere was nothing short of impressive, especially at the halfway mark.
Voice was a little hard to hear because of all the distortion (or fuzzy-ness, whatever you call them). But nonetheless you pulled off something really nice.
This was a very nicely made, if brutal game. And although I did not see it at first it did evolve into a trench like battle.
The audio was suberb, and enforced the nature of the game. Overall, very very well done.
Fun game, was a bit short however.
My complaints have already been voiced by those above. Although maybe have the consequences of losing money and/or people greater.
Nice.
Very well polished game. The music and sound effects were good and the art was stellar.
The only problem I ran into was that once, it was the enemy's turn but nothing happened, and I had to exit the game because nothing kept happening.
Overall, great job!
Interesting game. I like how it was well polished and simple. However it gets repetitive after awhile.
Its a little frustrating for me, mainly because every time I die most of the strategically placed dead bodies also go flying, and ill need to start all over.
Really great game. I loved the grim anesthetic and the animations and such were good. I also like that you had an assortment of weapons with different strengths.
It was also quite challenging, and although I feel it might... just need a checkpoint, I won't force it on you.
Music was also good, nice job!
Very well polished for a game jam, nice job. I like the concept as well.
^^
The game was interesting. I liked how the strategy was involved, and how you needed to carefully plan your moves.
However is it possible for you to allow players to undo (or turn off) certain decisions after selecting them? Some sound and music would also be great.
Honestly, I think this has a lot of potential, and if further expanded and polished can turn into a really great game.
Untitled.png
"The last stand"
Extremely fun
I love the Hotline Miami vibes and the whole experience is just exhilarating. Maybe add some more humanoid models, some ragdoll physics, and this game would easily be one of my, if not my most favorite game jam game ever!
"What a massacre"
Untitled.png
Great game! It was fun and funny. I love the art style and how the music fits in. I also like the idea behind some of your humor. Especially the slot machine.
Does the volume setting do anything tho? It was loud for me and it wasn't getting softer.
Needs a tutorial, took me awhile to figure out the left and right click thing.
Overall it's a nice little game that can stand up on its own feet, but it lacks polish.
Not bad for your first entry, better luck next time.
It was a pretty nice game. The idea behind it was solid and the execution was good. The only thing I would ask for is more variety, and maybe some more sound effects (turn-into-tree sound, turn-into-fire sound etc).
Overall, as your first LD compo entry it was a good one.
Uhhhh, lil problem.
I like the idea, but google has disabled it for "security reasons".
Untitled.png
Any idea on how to get it working, it won't allow me to turn it on, maybe im missing something.
Use reply please, thank you.
@eric-miller There was some progress! Unfortunately not all the way.
Untitled.png
Buuuuuuuuuuuuut! I manually unzipped it, had google install the result, and boom, it worked!.
Still playing it so far and the experience has been great, I feel thats its a really creative idea and I like it.
Nice
^^ sadly
Very fun and polished game! I like the premise behind it and the cutesy artstyle suited it well. The music was also nice and it was really fun to play with.
Great job!
This was fantastic. The destruction was a nice break from the other games and I really enjoyed the sfx, music and art style! Great work!
A nice game with a solid concept. I especially liked the music and the art style, well done!
This game was really really fun. A little too luck based for my taste (got arrested the first time I touched a piece of gym equipment. Nonetheless, it was funny, and the voice acting was icing on the cake.
Untitled.png hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I loved the game! The amount of polish was stunning, and you nailed the old gameboy vibe. The puzzles were also simple but nonetheless quite fun to solve. Plot was great, fantastic job!
Untitled.png
NO, DONT YOU DARE, DONT YOU F--KING DARE.
I like the game! It was interesting and the mechanic of swapping body parts is really cool. The only problem I ran into was not knowing the coal-turns-into-diamonds part, because I didn't get the "legends" dialog part when I first interacted with it.
Otherwise, fantastic entry!
@no-grapes-games Thx for the comment and rating!
@halfmule Really? Geezzz, thats going to need to be fixed, thanks for the feedback and letting me know!
EDIT @halfmule: There was pretty much no lag on my and some other peoples parts, so this may take awhile (may be a hardware issue), will get back to you when its solved.
@volatile-dove Thank you, im glad those effects were worth it!
@dobbermann2 Thanks for giving me feedback on the fly! Every comment counts.
@bojkott Thx for the feedback, the SFX in the game is one of the things Im most proud of, as for the cursor however, ill see to it after rating ends!
@didigameboy Thank you, and im glad you enjoyed!
@borys Im happy you liked it, however since you are the 2nd one to report the lag issue, I gotta something to ask you 2 (@borys and @halfmule)
*Did the lag happen after you restart the level (if you did) or begin since the very first (and whether it was late into the round).*
and
*What are your computer specs? (IK it should not matter, but I wanna know just in case)*
If you two answer, thank you, and sorry for the trouble.
**EDIT:** Reuploaded a new version that *should* fix it, bon voyage!
@fleoh Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
@borys Thanks for the quick response, I just uploaded a potentially fixed version.
You see, due to a small thing I overlooked, dead bodies just kept spawning blood puddles, and altho this wasn't very bad at first, it gets worst tenfold as they pile up.
Nonetheless, should be fixed!
@halfmule That maybe the case, my deepest apologies.
@iagorigel Im happy you did, thx for playing.
@lurkinmcclerkin Thank you for playing the game on stream! All feedback is important, but those on video are the most valuable. Glad you had fun, and ill tune the time down when LD44 is over!
@lola Merci!
@sholyu Merci.
@sockyman Thank you, I unfortunately couldn't fix the 'walk thru walls' bug, but nonetheless glad you had fun!
@ryan-wine OOOOOOH NOOOOO, call me an idiot, there is an win screen, fully set up and everything, but I forgot to connect it to the timer! Fixed now.
As for the troops, their search pattern is randomised so... ideally I would give em a checklist but time was short.
Thank for playing btw, and rly happy you actually managed to finish the game, thx for playing!.
@shaner421 Thank you, glad you like how the enemies moved, for how simple they are im quite surprised how effective they were. Kinda like the ghost in Pac-man.
@justuspan Thank you for playing!
@jkazuk Thats a joke im never gonna give up, and im never gonna let you down. Thanks for the praise!
@trevor-shoe Movement was done with a tiny bit of acceleration and deceleration, I guess that might be it. The SFX are also agreeably loud, i should add a volume slider. Thank for playing and for the feedback!
@unplugred IM SORRY. There has been an accident, its been fixed now, please give the game another try. Pls
@unplugred Mark my words... RUSSIAN SCREAMING IS BEST SCREAMING! Hahaha, anyway, glad you liked it!
@justuspan Thanks, im happy you managed to find your own way of playing, great job on completing it!
@drearyplane8 Thank you, nice you had fun!
@banzi Thx for playing!
@oscar-onix i now agree, after LD44 is over I will reduce it from 3 to 2 mins :>
@gaming-night Thx for playing and the praise!
@jandourek Im happy you enjoyed it! The casings are actually kinda optimised, they are pasted into the background after awhile. but the sheer amount of em are just..... lol.
Thx for playing!
@shunaky I actually wanted to do more detail, but its easier said than done. After doing what you see in the game it was just a massive pain to think of stuff to put, since there can only be so many plates and papers. (also lack of time)
its also an apartment, which also doesn't really sense unless you consider you are a 5 star russian minister.
But realisim was not the point, and in my opinion realism is overated! thx for playing, glad you liked it!
@fidrik Thank you! it was made with that game in mind.
@palsina Guns, even if on a monitor, should always feel both heavy in the hand and powerful in the sound! thx for playin, glad you liked it!
@quagga Thank you for playing! Its the hardcore part of Moscow.
@dodormeur Thx! Im proud of them.
@falak *Now I just need to make heads bashable*
Thx for trying my game!
@luis-j-benitez Its on the first screen, where you click to begin
"Trade national secrets for 100,000,000?" the transfer is halted if you die.
That aside, glad you enjoyed it!
@blacklambert and @mza , Thank you for trying out the game! I agree about the crosshair problem, will change after LD44!
btw MZA, I used Clickteam Fusion 2.5 .
@nerzal Thats a relief, did you ever finish it? I feel the time was too long.
@tozzo4316 Thx for playing1 Unfortunately the "friction" is not a feature but a bug with the game engine (CF2.5 is bad at handling collisions). Glad you liked it either way.
@pseudobytes Yep, Russia, where KGB breaking down door is average day. Glad you liked it!
@cozmic Thats good to know!
@jofersgames Just what I hoped to accomplish. Thx for playin!
@flayerwolf Thank you, glad you took the time to try!
@pusheeneiro Dont worry! Their just there to *"dis-persuade you"*. Thx for playin btw!
@bakenshake Thanks for the feedback! I'll see to it!
@eclahn Fair enough, the obstacles sometimes arent infact very obvious, especially against the wood flooring. As for the AI walking thru walls, thx for letting me know!
@mrschlag2 The AI was actually surprisingly simple. Along the lines of:
"If hear gunshot - go to gunshot until there is LoS between AI and gunshot location" "If player is seen but no LoS - change mode to 'chase' and go to last known location of player until LoS is established" "If not see player for X time - change mode to 'search', pick random place to go on map every 3 seconds" "If LoS between player is established - fire burst with SMG"
And yet, with those 5 rules, they turned out to be way better than I had ever hoped! Thx for playing btw!
@annie-owl Well it was made with the intent of emulating the bloody game (not that it's a bad one, quite fun infact). As for the russian voices... ill let you in on a secret:
They were ripped from a meme video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMqx2CUSjiA.
Glad you played and enjoyed!
@teemu-pulkkinen So they only appeared when they shot at you? hmmmmmmmmm.... thats a very important clue! Thanks for playing and letting me know!
@flamus Yeah the crosshair does need fixing abit, hope you enjoyed it!
@ludwici The only 3 things you need! Thanks for playing!
@designernap Mhm, when I thought of soldiers rappeling, the first thing I thought of was 'ziptie'. Thank you for playing!
@vlad-dae Thank you, glad you played!
@robowarrior1982 thats... very strange. What monitor are you using?
@mdwade Thanks for playing! What monitor are you using?
@mdwade Huh, maybe it's an opinion thing then, because in my opinion its ok, but ok. Ill see if I can make it bigger without damaging the image quality
@robowarrior1982 Added a version with the menu bar so you can minimise it!
@robowarrior1982 Fantastic! Is that the whole screen tho? There should be more
@darylsteak Alright. thats something to fix, thx for telling.
This is really confusing tho.I have absolutely no idea what could cause this.
@fiiction Thx, glad you tried the game!
**Sorry for the late replies!** @biebras Ah yeah, gotta fix the enemies and the lag, I got a hunch what may be causing it, we'll see. Thx for playing!
@ashtrail Thank you for playing! I agree with the sound and music, with the latter being not very good... (I need to work on my music making skills), as for the blood particles, I think that's a better a good idea! Although I'll make them more splatter shaped than round.
The enemies die in 2 hits! The HP bar is also at the bottom (sadly did not draw attention to it). And a reloading mechanic was one I never got to due to time constraints. Will add tho!
Thx for the detailed feedback!
@bartosz Aye aye, the lag is an issue, and the crosshair could be better, will try to fix!
The music was suppose to be Russian style, missed by half a continent.
Thank you for trying out!
Will do the other replies in a moment.
@stark Annnnnd as the vote goes thru the final decisionnnnnn isssssss, reduced time! Thanks for the feedback!
@geckoo1337 Ok then, I'll try to add more stuff and details and improve the timer. Thanks for letting me know! Спасибо!
@hadi-danial Bullets should always feel powerful in such games! As for the crosshair, i will try my best to design a better one. Thank you for trying out Enemy Of The State!
@dxk2294 Performance is infact something that can be improved, thx for playin!
@florian93 Hmmmm, some people like the camera shake some don't..... time to make it an option then! Thx for the feedback and playing!
@oddsocks Thank you, may the same results come to you as well!
LOL
**Sorry for the late replies, rip modem**
@simplepotential Thank you for playing! Gotta fix the performance issues, lotsa people have been getting them lately.
@garys Ah yeah, there is a health bar on the bottom, but it's not very noticable, something which I will fix in the post jam version, thx for trying out the game!
@wolf-neon There was originally a grenade attack for the AI, but I in the end disabled it for reasons I do not remember. In the post jam version I will try to add throwable objects (such as table lamps and other stuff) along with melee.
As for the music, I tried going for a soviet theme but that quickly turned into an identity crisis, in hindsight your suggestion for something 'more hardcore and energetic' is way better, and to which i will try to make.
Thank you for playing and giving such helpful feedback! (also glad you liked the sfx)
@feips There is one at the bottom, but it's hard to notice at first, will try to fix this in the post-jam version. Thx for playin!
@ransom Yep, guns are loud, volume slider to be added! As for the movement, I will try making them more fluid and smooth. Thank you for trying out!
@mika-la-grand Thanks for the feedback. I might as well address them one by one.
When the game first starts, you can make a deal where you trade national secrets for a whole lot of money, however, should you die, the money transfer is cancelled. Bit on the nose, but too late for that now.
As for the apartment, the level was first designed gameplay wise and then the furniture and decorations placed around it. I also don't know what a soviet high class apartment looks like as there are very few images online, therefore instead of strictly sticking to the theme of the level I just focused on making it look good (or atleast, tried).
Enemies don't really telegraph when they are going to attack because, well, it's sometimes kinda obvious. It's also pretty hard to think up an animation or something when the gun is already raised and aimed. I can however add an animation to show when they have line of sight with whatever they are aiming at (be it last known location of the player).
Finally, I only had time to add blood splatters when enemies are hit and a speed slow-down when they are damaged (they are 2 shot kill, being hit once cuts speed in half), as I was already rushing to finish the game (scope got a bit too large, and I was stepping in certain unfamiliar territories).
@ddrkirbyisq Yep! After making the mistake of only designing for 1980 x 1080 for so long, the lesson has been learn't! The frame dropping has been addressed in the newly uploaded Post-Jam version by lowering the fps from 100 to 80 followed by tons of optimization, and the bullets have been blackened (cursor still needs fixing tho)!
Audio slider is on the way, and thanks for the wish for good luck! And thanks for playing as well!
@ildfuglen Aye, sound needs some work, its not bad, but it needs polish. As for the weapons.. im considering a submachine gun or a double barrel, both could be fun to play with and can pop up halfway thru the match. Thank you for playing and the feedback, and good luck on Venatio!
@webox Thank you, this is actually the very first LD entry im seriously extending past the jam, and I hope it does well. Thanks for the encouragement and kind words, and nice game of yours btw.
**To everyone above, even extending past this comment, a new post-jam version has been released with many more expected, thank you all for playing, rating, and leaving feedback!**
@pl4typus thank you! I hope to keep the hiding aspect, and glad you liked the meme-y voices!
@simanis Mhm, glad you played even after dying. I also worked out the difficulty according to the other feedback, and implemented it in the post jam version. Thank you for playing!
@asfdfdfd Thanks, as long as you don't get hooked like gambling I will take that as a complement! Thx for playin!
@alext-design I apologize even more for my even later reply! Thanks for playing and thanks for the video feedback!
It was hard, with not much leeway at all, but it wasn't too bad nonetheless. I also love the simple art style and sound effects. Nice job!
A tricky little game, but fun nonetheless! It actually has quite some potential. Wasn't sure what to do with the grapes at first however, maybe some words on the bottom or something to tell players what does what.
Nice music and models btw.
I felt it was great, I like the game over system, where your mana and lvls will carry forward, and the red slime mechanic was really really good for farming mana. The art and music also fit well
Never actually beat the boss tho, even with everything maxed out, tough guy.
For a game made in 9 hours, im really impressed. The simple art style looked really good, yet was still very effective. The sound effects were also nice, and the gameplay was solid, albiet easy to max out.
The greatest thing however, was that unlike your previous game, it was *fun*.
Great job.
Nice idea, and the music was nice.
Dat difficult curve tho, and are the upper 2 branches even needed?
That aside, with some polish I feel that it would make a great game for mobile devices and the sort, good job.
*and y u lewd tree*
Not bad, the game was pretty nice and the idea was ok. In my opinion however, the black was a little too much, maybe a little more vision would be better, and the movement felt a bit slippery.
I also sadly don't see the theme in the game, maybe you can point it out to me.
Other than those however, it was nice, the art was consistent and looked nice, even if simple. GJ!
@xkyl Ahhhhhhhhhhh, I didnt notice the number up there, and its ok! As long as you improve, mistakes are fine!
Not bad! I like the idea behind the gameplay and the level design was pretty nicely done. My only complaint is that boxes sometimes tilt and fall of boxes, which is kinda annoying. Other than that, nice game!
The music was nice and I like how the theme was implemented, the controls also suited the game well on phones.
It was a little confusing on my computer however, especially at the game over screen where I was slightly confused on what to do after typing my name.
Another thing was that I was never really sure which direction the enemy was coming from, since I would run away and wait until my HP replenished before going to fight them, perhaps you can add a 'radar' of some sort that would show you which direction they were.
Overall tho, not a bad game, with some decent potential. GJ
Not bad, I liked simplistic art style and sound. In my opinion however, the game was just a little too easy, and was easily finished on my first try. Furthermore, once you got a solid system laid down , it was pretty much just wait, drag slave for money, drag slave to make love for more slave , and repeat until I got 200$.
Perhaps try to up the difficulty a little by making buildings have higher energy consumption, for random events? Either way, and your first LD game, nice job!
I must say, the graphics where genius! Making your game look smooth and good looking while managing to cut down on animation by keeping with the old timey look, genius!
I also really like the idea, and although it isn't really 'currency', it was still put to good use!
Overall, great game!
I like the game, its simple but nonetheless fun. Also quite addictive. Nice graphics btw.
I feel like a completely top down view would suit it better than the current isometric one tho, and a bit of sound and some BGM would suit it well.
Overall, noice.
Its an interesting concept that fits the theme nicely, other than that I unfortunately don't have much more to say.
I think it has potential tho, and it would be quite fun with a large group of people, try advertising certain times for playing.
Dat sound tho
I was rescued! This was easily one of the most atmospheric game jam entries I've played yet, both the audio and the graphics were superb, really giving the effect of trying to survive. As for the roping mechanic, It was simple enough that I triggered it by accident and quickly figured it out, in the end making a decently sized makeshift raft.
Originally also tried my best to save the teddy bears until seas started getting very rough, and the raft was starting to get pulled apart.
Wasnt sure if the game was gonna end really, until thankfully a heli flew over head. Overall, great atmospheric game.
What can I say? Really simple, pretty fun.
And because it's so simple, nothing to complain about!
Wish you happy LDing.
As a person who has done chinese calligraphy in school, the results were kinda embarrassing (maybe it's because this is japanese). Writing with the brush feels more wobbly around than crisp and sharp.
The sound and art design was great however, and the mood was definitely there.
Not bad really
Not a bad game, the way the theme was done was interesting alright. The gameplay was smooth, although I would not have figured out how to progress if you didnt add the starter tips! I also like the simplistic models.
Considering the conditions you were under, not really much to complain about, except it being rather quiet.
Welcome back after a year and a half! Hope to see you next LD.
Not bad. I like the way the theme was used, and the gameplay was smooth and bug free. It was reeeeaaaaally hard for me though, I could not get past Drowsy, even with the help of google.
@snufkinshat Thanks, don't do it yet though, still play testing it a lil.
@snufkinshat Alright, I have tested most of it, hope most bugs are gone!
Go right ahead!
I'll reply to all comments tomorrow, seriously need some shut eye. Gnite!
@findoff Glad you liked it! @0xkalle Yeah, the controls were kinda messy, and twas a bit late when I realized that :/ Thanks for the praise!
@foxfx Thanks for playing then! @snufkinshat Sadly that is the case, still, thanks for liking the concept and art and for playing!
@kazatan Thanks for playing and the detailed feedback! I didnt actually think of using the scroll wheel, and in my opinion that is a great idea. As for the bug you mentioned, fix it I will try!
@nachtwitch You betcha partner!
@tygrak Glad you liked the art and sound design, I seriously messed up my sleep cycle busting my ass making those, so Im glad it paid off. As for the controls and such (including the bug), already noted!
Thx for playing!
@laegoose Sorry to hear that, I'll try to fix it soon. As for the guards, that is both hilarious and concerning. Glad you liked the world though, and thanks for playing!
@tasakasama Thank you! Im glad the pixel art worked out. Thx for playing.
@carpin Discord sound? Oh dear, if there was no one has really realized it yet but you, sharp ears you got there. Thanks for the praise and thanks for playing!
@chad-cable Fair point about the controls, I never got around to streamlining them. Thanks for playing!
@johnnysix If there's one word to describe my game jam games, it's ambitious, and sometimes it pays off! Unfortunately the fullscreen button doesnt work, resulting in the image being badly stretched out and such, and being unplayable. Glad you liked the art and mechanics, and I'll see what I can do about the duck/roll suggestion!
@theseusinabottle Thank you! And thanks for playing, will try to make the controls easier and better!
@romes The champ! Proof that someone actually finished the game! WOOHOOO. Thanks for liking and playing. BTW, I fixed the guard thing, thanks for pointing that out.
@enver-arco I agree with the bugs, with a game of that size rushed in such short time, they tend to pop up and im trying to fix em. As for the controls, may or may not revamp post jam. Thanks for playing!
@artyom-volkov Thank you and thanks for the follow, too bad the LD theme didnt work out for you, wish you the best!
@brallex Yeah the tutorial was kinda needed considering the not-very-good-controls. Thanks for playing and liking!
@xedur Got shot right away? Damn, must be an old bug that resurfaced, I'll fix it as fast as i can. The sirens thing is probably the same as well
@xedur Should be fixed, I hope you will give the game another try, as it was seriously my fault, my apologies
@emty Twitching? Interesting. Thx for playing and the feedback!
@eryph Thank you, and thx for playing!
@mikethehuman Glad you liked it, and TQ for playing.
@yohsk13 Thanks for the great and detailed feedback, and im happy that I impressed. Will fix the discord thing, along with all the other problems, and thx for playing!
@moechen Got it! Better controls on the way. Thx for playing!
@mathemagician Mhm, controls are not really good, 100% agree! Thx for playing!
@shigor Thanks for the feedback, the controls, well, everyone's said that already. Have not met the shooting one however, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for playing!
@trmrddr Thank you, I tried to keep the pixels down so I wouldn't get overwhelmed, and it kinda worked!
@dwam Yeah, maybe I should have lowered the pricing a wee bit. As for a run button.. sure! It would give you an actual chance to escape now that I think about it. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for playing!
@yomissmar An in game shop? In hindsight that is a good idea, it would really help streamline the gameplay. Thanks for you thoughts and thx for playing!
Oh and as for the guards, I tried my best making them dark and the background lighter, but when the building is that elaborate... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ tried I did.
@furano Is that so? Maybe I need to give the play a bit of direction. Thank you for playing!
@jaypay No guards? Thats... strange to say the least considering how the tutorial was designed. I also cannot reproduce the bug, did you use the web version or the windows version? As for the controls, will work on it. Thx for playing!
@space-wumpus Well I hope you continue to enjoy it! I didnt notice the missing control instructions actually! Good eye. As for the elevator thing... well..... that's a limitation of the movement system I use that I sadly cannot get around :<
Still, tq for playing!
Oh yeah, and I didn't notice the source code thing as well, you really have a sharp eye.
@archimagus Technically, no I did not, since the sounds were free ones online that I had modified and spliced together. For example the exhibition hall sound effects was a playing of a violin song over the sound of a crowd of people. Thank you for the praise and for playing!
@kunonooni Thank you! Im glad you liked it. And thx for playing!
@ruud-cremers Did you use the windows or browser version? And can you describe what you did during the tutorial? I cannot reproduce the 'no guards' bug no matter what. As for the controls, I'll try to stream line them with the help of the scroll wheel. Thanks for playing!
@tommyflower Thank you for the praise! Got it about the climbing trouble, I'll see what I can do. Thank you for playing!
@frederikh Yeah, 8 pixels were a bit of a challenge tbh. There was also a slight plan for a run button, but alas! Priorities shifted and it got shoved downwards. Thanks for playing anyhow!
@ruud-cremers It's alright then, I'll try my best to find the problem!
@purpledartfrog Got it! Take your time then.
@lonewolfdev Gotcha, I'll see if I can make them more noticable, thx for playing!
@wolfrug yeah didnt exactly think the Space part through :P , as for the controls, in hindsight, yeah they're terrible. Thanks for playing and the feedback though!
@rroni Thank you for playing! I may or may not consider it.
@richnou Yeah im planning to replace all the stuff with a general key, or a scroll selection, considering they are pretty far apart. It would be better than a sign in my opinion. Thanks for the feedback!
@owc Thank you, and thx for playing!
@caberu Thank you, recently my games have been mostly pretty minimalist in terms of art, be it size or colour. As for the guards, I went with a nice, metal baseball bat ping! Glad you liked it.
In regards to the keys though, will try to make them easier! Thx for playing and the feedback!
@ohismile2801 Im sorry as me and the people I know do not understand Vietnamese, however based on Google translate I will try to fix the problems you post, thx for playing!
@mattwagar Yeah, the button problem was discovered a lil too late, I see what I can do post jam. Thanks for playing!
@cg-fred Thank you and Im glad you liked it!
@akronsus Thank you for the praise and im happy you enjoyed it. I really tried to cut down the pixels so I wouldn't get mowed down by a massive work load
@coffeedrinkers No I have not, but this game was actually inspired by it! Of course I wasnt going to do the whole start over thing so I settled with this instead. Tq for playing!
@jusw85 It was actually kinda planned to have you be able to take out everyone without any upgrades, but this proved too challenging to accomplish within the jam. May or may not try post jam though...
And levels, I've actually kinda planned one with a ocean liner as the level, but we'll see!
Glad you liked it, and thx for playing!
@mr-bold Thank you for playing! I'll try to make the controls better!
@m-dam I agree with the controls now, after not playing it for a few days, sadly I did not have the blessing of hindsight tho. Nonetheless, I'll try to simplify it in a post jam version!
As for gamepad support.. mmmmmmmmm... I've never done that before, can try though! Thx for playing!
@brokenmirrormedia Interesting, maybe I could have it temporary, maybe have it cut off access to certain areas... who knows? Im on board with the idea though. Thanks for the suggestion and thank you for playing!
@pedro-miranda Nice work getting the gem! Glad you liked it and thx for playing!
@jam373 You should try one day, maybe you will learn new things, I certainly did. Thanks for playing and Im glad you liked it.
Oh and uh, if you do and need some pointers in terms of design or playtesting, email me and I may or may not be able to help: Darylsteak@gmail.com
@maximbegunov Thank you and thanks for trying my game out!
@coatline I actually slightly disagree with the gameplay part, as new abilities unlock new ways to play around the level, but if that's what you think, can't really complain! As for the door, I'll see if I can fit one! 3 or 4 pixels aint much to work with.
Nonetheless, TQ for playing!
@thecakeflavor Thank you for playing and the praise!
@stark I guess the heli is pretty overpowered, maybe I can scale it back abit. As for the controls, I'll try to simplify them down to one button! Thx for playing!
@p-r Button removing in the works! Thank you for playing
@netmute The roll was originally for rolling under bullets, sadly couldn't find space for it in the tutorial, and honestly the chances of escaping after being caught is slim anyway. Tq for playing!
@wansou Glad you liked it! I more or less have the idea on how to reduce the controls now, and thanks for playing!
@ithildin Well I don't like holding back alot during game jams, they are a place where I feel it is appropriate to 'go big or go home' and experiment. The full screen unfortunately breaks the game :<, which is why I didn't keep it. As for the controllers, it's really because I have never done controller support before, although I do plan on trying it out! In terms of the controls, I will indeed be cutting alot of it down to one key, which is something I somehow didn't think of.
Thank you for the detailed feedback and playing!
@danilo-freire The controls problem, like everyone else's, has been noted! Thanks for playing!
@frenchie The gold thing is not a bad idea really now that I think of it, and im sure I can make it work somethow, thanks for the idea! As for the controls, they were, in hindsight, an obvious solution that neither myself or my friends playtesting pointed out, and I will add post jam. Thank you for playing!
@invader Thank you for the praise and playing!
@rebtf Thank you for playing! I will cut down the controls in the post jam version!
@baturinsky Thanks for the control suggestions, they are actually pretty good. I'll test them out and see how it goes. As for the guards problem, finally realized what was the problem and fixed it, thanks for pointing it out!
@derek-volker Never thought I could fit a character into 10 pixels! Im glad you liked the mechanics, which were all designed with a core mechanic in mind so they would all work together.
As for the gold bars, dont think about them to much, just imagine them vanishing into a magic bag which will be magically retrieved after being released, realism is overated in my opinion anyhow.
@weeping-rupee Thank you for streaming my game! Video feedback is always appreciated!
@franciszek-pyrc I hope not too badly, I'll see if I can tone it down post jam.
Not a bad idea, damn shame it was never completed though. Hope you get well soon!
If you want me to list bugs anyway, the enemy robot doesn't appear to cause damage, and placing a turret causes the game to freeze shortly thereafter.
Best of luck next time!
Both bloody and brilliant in terms of concept. And overall, really simple.
Nothing to complain about, and like Igoreshka, would make quite a nice mobile game.
Nice work!
And nice lil puzzle game! Overall, the art was good and the music was suitable, really nothing to complain about.
Nice , solid entry!
The art was really nice and consistent. I like how the gameplay was also very simple. It got slightly repetitive after awhile however, but for a click game it was ok.
Great work!
The art style and sound were suberb, and the gameplay was quite engaging. Didnt realize you could stand on rocks and such at first though, and I never really found out how to properly get past the lazers in stage 2.
Still, great game!
The game was certainly interesting, especially the use of the theme. Shame the game wasn't completed though. I liked the art, but it was quite hard to tell apart at times.
Also, rubberband effect Corrade mentioned above.
Other than those two, it would be nice to see all 7 days done and the levels (levels?) more fleshed out. GJ!
A nice lil game. I really like the concept and how it was done, and the music was relaxing.
After watching my planet grow a lil though, I just kept getting biology going up cards, idk if this is intentional or not, but my population sure as hell spiraled out of control.
Nice work!
This was really interesting. I really liked how it was a game done in Twitch of all things! The fact that it is multiplayer also gave me a slight sense of teamwork and unity when I looked at the 'LD45 earned' counter.
The audio was also pretty good, nicely capturing an office atmosphere.
Not much gameplay, but as expected of an idle game. Great job!
I'll be honest, until I read the comments, I thought the falling pits were long large pots for potted plants for some reason! The models are nice and simple and the controls are nice.
Sound, admittedly, was a lil jarring though. As for the enemies, I mostly just ran past alla em.
Still nice game! And great work making it
A simple game that was for some reason slightly addicting. I like the art style and the sort of 3d ish effect it has.
It also took me a little bit of time to figure out how to kill the dragons though, if it was mentioned somewhere I missed it. The movement, although smooth, was also a little hard in terms of moving small distances.
Still, pretty solid entry, nice!
Untitled.png
Not to shabby!
I really like the concept and how well the game was done. The models were good and the sound effects were awesome. Shame there aren't more levels though!
No real complaints
Jolly nice game you got here. I like how nicely done the characters are, and the theme is somewhat well incorporated, although slightly on the nose in my opinion.
Really really well polished, and great art. Bit lacking in the sound department though, but it was fun nonetheless.
Great work!
For being your first game jam, I'd say this is an extremely solid entry. The gameplay was smooth and well polished, and the theme well used. After publishing I felt slightly left hanging however, as if all was for naught.
The only problem I encountered was I could not select the spikes I had put down, :/
Other than that, fantastic job
This was a really fun game. I was blown away by the fact that you guys had live acting. Like, live acting! The humor was great as well, and overall it was pretty darn sweet.
My only complaint though, the fact that I messed up halfway through and had to start all over was a lil off putting.
Other than that, utterly fantastic
I actually kinda liked it. I enjoyed the pixel art, even though they weren't sharp I rather liked them, and the gameplay as a whole wasn't bad.
Movement was a lil strange in my opinion though, especially since it didn't look or feel grid based. As for the minigames, I liked all but one, the up-the-stairs one, where I just spammed my keys to pass it.
Other than that, pretty nice! GJ
Considering the 24 hr thing and the bug, eh, not bad. Like Tommy tho, those bricks took awhile to land.
And damn is that alot of text on your page.
An RPG looking game! I happened to be in the mood for one! I spent waaay too much time playing this and it was quite nice actually. I liked the art and the music was good enough to keep the mood going.
Finally killing the dragon was reaaaaally underwhelming though, when I only got a dinky lil knife, after I finally managed to kill one :/
Me playing this game finally stopped when, after firing 2 sales assistants, the game crashed as well!
Nice game, and nice work though!
I did it! First try! My finger hurts!
Everything in this entry came together nicely, the mood was great, the art was good, the sound was terrific.
But god damn my finger hurts
Pretty neat idea, and I liked the voxel style of the game. Audio was also very well done.
The grave digging and lemming burying mechanic was a lil buggy for me though, although only during one playthrough (others were fine), where it kept saying I needed to drop stuff, while I stood there lemming in hand, above a freshly dug hole.
Other than that though, sweet.
Cool little game. I like how over time the lamp consumes more and more oil, and the continuously changing level means that you need to pick where to go carefully, which I also like. Sounds and visuals were also neat.
Nice job!
I like the artstyle alot, and I really like the respawn system. Only wish it was a little longer.
Also, question: are you suppose to be able to relight the match at previous campfires? Because I would run back sometimes and then just idly stand beside it hoping it would lol.
Nonetheless, nice game!
I like how this was to an extent, a strategy game, where you have to plan who gets teh ventilator, the person almost about to recover, or the one that really needs it? The art style and music also fit well, and overall this was a pretty solid entry
@franciszeknowotniak @mooman-monk @fukusplutus Thank you!
@elq Thanks for the feedback and playing the game, can you mention which ladders?
@natethegreat By the ladder puzzle which are you refering to? Im willing to give hints.
@franciszeknowotniak @mooman-monk @fukusplutus Thank you!
@elq Thanks for the feedback and playing the game, can you mention which ladders?
@natethegreat By the ladder puzzle which are you refering to? Im willing to give hints.
@asemic Thank you for playing, I'll see what I can do to make it more obvious!
@x-c Thank you! Glad you liked it
@mmason Would or wouldn't? Either way i'll put up a walk through as fast as I can. As for music, I would add some, if I were not so bad at making it :p Thx for the feedback
@tulipekoni Walkthrough, coming soon! Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate you guys.
@raeya How'd you do it? Im curious.
@tulipekoni @mmason @natethegreat Walkthroughs have been made and are above!
@sai-vivek-amirishetty Thank you for the compliment and for playing, the text animation was actually a simple animation playing! I just made an animation, set it to play at 1 frame per second, have the text appear as frames, then have the button appear after the animation was finished.
@matootsy Well I made you go up ladders really fast because I felt it was a pain to make it so slow. As for the puzzle, there are walkthroughs below the links you can go watch. Thank you for playing, and the feedback!
@jenny-bourke Thank you, and thx for playing.
@santriptasharma It initially wasn't, even after the idea was finalized. Instead it was the artstyle that was influenced by The Final Station (which I really liked) later on. Thanks for playing!
@connie-liu @randomlb Thx for playing and the feedback
@hastro Thank you, seriously, thank you. The bug explains some of the earlier comments and it was a stupid mistake ( I accidentally set it to E instead of F). Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@gal-afik Thank you! tq for playing too
@ryan-ackermann Thank you, glad you liked the feel and art!
@vivek-sharma20 there is ingame audio, are your settings set right? As for the death animation, I'll put it in the pipeline. Thx for playing!
@krebzor Im not sure how I can make the first few puzzles easier, but if I decide to continue the game I can try. Thanks for playing, and the feedback!
@randdir What browser are you using? I'll go test it out, thx for letting me know!
@a-312 Are you pressing shift to run? Maybe you missed the text in the first scene
@ladmiester Thank you! Your right with the ladder part, but thankfully it wasnt major enough to be a huge fuss. Thx for playing!
@sami I never realized Snowpiercer was originally a french Sci Fi comic! Being that I love trains, I have to read it. As for the puzzles, it might be too hard for some, just right for others, and to others more, too easy. So dont push yourself, and if you really cant solve one use the walkthrough listed under the downloads. Thank you for trying it out, and the feedback!
@a-312 Oh shoot, good catch, I didnt put it for the game page, thx for catching that.
@winslow Thank you for the video! Visual feedback is some of the most useful for me. Tq for playing.
@remus-rain Dont worry, that's what the walkthroughs are for, they are there incase you get stuck (go watch it, it's under the downloads). Go check it out. Thanks for the feedback and playing!
@tuesi Thank you! And thx for playing.
@daniel-velitskiy THX!
@joekinglake Thank you for the praise, and thank you for enjoying it so much. Im really happy with how people are receiving it.
@zen Thank you! And thank you for playing, I appreciate it!
@chromaphase Thx!
@pandepic Got it, ill write it down as one of the things to fix in the post jam version. Thank for the feedback and playing!
@historymaker118 Got it, if I ever continue this game I'll be sure to redesign the puzzles to make the difficultly be more of a ramp than a jagged mountain range. Thanks for playing the game, and leaving feedback!
@nightjolt Thank you.
@jamesolivermusic I never really though of a climbing animation, although in hindsight I should have and probably could have squished one in. As for an actual scene, we'll see! It depends on whether I continue this. Thx for playing and the feedback!
@gregoire-d An x position lock, why didnt I think of that? that's a brilliant idea. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@bluecalx can you explain the events leading up to that along with which version of the game you used (web/exe)? First I've heard of this bug. That aside, thank you for playing, and thx for the valuable feedback!
@jiri-holzel Planning to release a version with all the collisions fixed! Thanks for letting me know about that one, and thx for playing.
@arbex an hour? That is some serious dedication. Im actually pretty touched. As for how? Practice makes perfect, this is basically a combination of all my muscle memory and skills gained over the past 2 years. Thanks for playing, especially for that long!
@igoreshka @danilshekarev @reiqy @lockness Thank you!
@eryph Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@sami Really? Thanks alot! You really didnt need to do this but I really appreciate it!
@effarek Interesting.... I'll fix it in a version with improved collisions, thanks for letting me know!
, that was a careless mistake that was nonetheless uploaded for a small 15 min window. If you were unfortunate enough to download the bugged version, im sorry, it's fixed
@vulgaris added a version where the collisions are mostly fixed! Thank you for playing and the feedback.
@victor-reiner @neowhoru @simply @toby-klauder Thx for playing!
@sockyman Well I hope you can finish it one day, glad you liked it.
@kasalooo GLAD YOU THOUGHT THAT BRO
@death-is-cold @motley @fidrik @digitaldude555 @han-cholito @levi @forgeronstudio Thanks for the feedback, and playing!
@digitaldude555 Top 5? I really do hope so, thanks for the feedbacks and for playing the game!
@nathalia-hohl I will try should I ever continue this to make the difficulty a better curve, since this is actually the first time i've tried designing puzzles haha. Thanks for playing, and the feedback!
@shaolin-dave Yeah, the loading issues, im actually going to blame the engine I used (Clickteam Fusion 2.5) because it never really seemed very good at porting to HTML5, which is why I advised people to use the exe. The exe also has higher res compared to the web browser version.
Thank you for giving it another shot though, along with leaving detailed feedback, really appreciate it!
@sid-fish-games Im sure you got it eventually, thanks for playing!
@prof-suarez Well I can't promise anything about music (im absolutely horrible at making it), but I can make the tone darker. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@marvalgames Thank you, no guarantees on whether this will be continued (the code is helllllaaaa ugly), but im glad you enjoyed it enough to say it's worth an upgrade!
@splitpainter Well you may be slightly disappointed, this game is basically my magnum opus thus far. Glad you liked it though, and I'll try to keep up the good work! Thank you for playing.
@rrsmtz Thank you!
@emperor-eagle I already did! You can find walkthroughs under the downloads and links. Thx for the feedback!
@lintfordpickle Thx!
@lapisraider Don't worry, I did the same thing a few times as well, probably will change it to something else. Thanks for playing and providing feedback!
@johnnysix That changing the walk key to shift idea is a good one, if I ever do a post jam version i'll implement it. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@saucygames Indeed it did.
@rexent-games @flamus @maytch Thank you, and thx for playing
@gmaanicus Thank you alot for the very detailed feedback, and for playing! I may make a post jam version and if so hope to get everything you mentioned fixed. Also, about that zombie levitating, *absolutely no bloody idea how it does that, it just does!* Either way I added a small system that basically forces it back to the ground if it does that again.
Naughty zombo
As for the ladders, the version with fixed collisions should have it fixed.
@dxk2294 Yeah, of all the things it had to be the ladder to be the weakest link. Nonetheless, thank you for playing!
@meskaline @doritolord Thank you!
@majadroid @noirdrive Got it, will try to improve, thx!
@sir-magic The elevator sounds cant be too hard to fix, literally just slightly tuning it down in audacity and maybe add a small start up and shut off effect, nonetheless I'll get to it. Thank you for playing and leaving the feedback, I appreciate it!
@scott-steffes Well when you really think about it, there were really only 5 puzzles (3 in train depot, 1 in the pumping station and 1 in the fuel silo, dont consider the 1st one in silo to be a puzzle, more a tutorial on the lifts, and getting the key was just teaching that zombies are not good). Furthermore I also spent several hours agonizing on designing those 5 because this is the first time i've done a puzzle game.
Thank god I decided to do something useful while agonizing and program some systems unrelated to the puzzles while I was at it, so when I finally did come up with the puzzles I wasnt horribly behind schedule.
Still, thank you for playing, and im glad you were impressed! I hope to make even better games than this in the future.
@lamossus I agree, movement was the weakest part of the game, and I'll try to fix it in a post jam version should I ever make one. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@mehrdadsh @devparty @gonzo13 @the1 @docgeraud @helloitsjiwon @ldf-productions @wassim Thank you!
@unept Thank you! And thanks for playing.
@fat-cat i actually forgot LD had a server, havent been there in a loooong loooong time. As for music, I'll try to get my hands on some, Im horrific at making it after all. Thanks for playing and the suggestion!
@yorisfresh I'll try to make them less so, thanks for playing!
@chocolat-endive After seeing all the suggestions for music, I might just start learning how to do so, because im very very bad at making music. Thanks for feedback and for playing!
@laaph Things got slower and slower? That's strange, Ive never had such a bug in my life, not that im suggesting it doesnt exist. As for the skipping the cutscene part, it's a good idea! I'll see to it. Thanks for playing and giving feedback!
@inzombiak I'll try to make the puzzles feel a lil more fun, maybe have a easy-medium-hard mode? Either way, thanks for playing!
@lawnchair-society Thank you! I'll try to take the space bar into account next time. Thx for playing!
@cvetk0 I actually had a small plan after the jam ended, where there was a 50% chance you got a bad ending and just got shot, and if you played the game for too long before getting to the ending, the guy just says "apocalypse? you spent so long getting here it ended 2 years ago!". Never came to be though, or atleast, hasn't.
As for the side stories part, im onboard tbh, I'll see what I can do should I make a post jam version, or even a full game.
And finally, I'll try with the music, Im really bad at making music, but no time to learn like now! Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@ryzy27 You didnt use the box? interesting, maybe there is more than one solution, not that im complaining. Thx for the feedback and for playing!
@jusw85 It appears the fixed collision version still has some problems them, I'll try to iron them out. Thanks for telling me and for playing!
@kate90 Which version of the game did you use? It's probably a minor bug I didnt notice. Thank you for telling and for playing the game!
@acoto87 Thank you! I'll try to polish it even more
@stefanie-leitch Did you try running off the ladder? I didnt notice until now but apparently walking off is not enough. Ive added a small text telling people about this after your comment. Thank you for telling me and trying out the game!
@zzox I'll try to further improve movement, thx for playing!
Sorry for the late replies.
@toffanim @black-flag @coatline @julienlussiez @hjalte @llewellyn-and-michael @unimaginable-code-studios @terry Thank you!
@endytroll The artstyle certainly was, Thanks for playing!
@andre-fremaux I'll try to deal with them should I ever get back to working on this little game, and will keep in mind. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@patricio Noted, thx for playing!
@matt-greenbury And thank you for trying it out!
@taran-unraveler Thank you for the feedback, I'll try to make the puzzles more enjoyable in the future should I ever get to it!
@tomssuli Thank you for playing and glad you liked it! I didn't actually expect and plan for someone to run straight through that particular wall, well there's something to note.
@recursor I'll try to smooth out the rough edges when I get to it, thank you for telling and for playing!
@theqiwiboy Really? I'll write it down somewhere as one of the things to fix when I eventually get back to fixing this game (slight bit of a mess really, alot of spaghetti code). Thank you for enjoying the game and for playing!
@geegaz What was the last part you were at? If it was the part where you were congratulated for finishing the game, then yes, otherwise, bit of a problem. As for the collisions, I'll try to find a solution, thx for playing!
@mika-la-grand Seems like most of the problems were movement based along with the zombies, sorry for that, I'll try my best to iron them out. Also, thanks for telling me about the un-fixed version on itch! I didn't notice that. Overall, thanks for the feedback, and taking time for trying the game out!
@guille Higher jumps and fullscreen, I can guarantee the first, but fullscreen in my past experiences actually messes stuff up, hopefully I can figure it out one day. Nonetheless, I'll make the person jump higher, thanks for playing and the feedback!
@babyking Maybe this game will get music one day, I'm horrendously bad at making it. I can fine tune the movement however! So thank you for the feedback and for playing the game!
@sharks I was careless! I didn't realize you could do that! Oh well, might just leave that in for those fortunate enough to find it to be honest. As for the itch download link, I'll swap it out, Thanks for leaving feedback and for playing!
@disthron Clickteam fusion! I knew eventually someone would notice, oh Clickteam gave me alooooooot of pain in terms of collisions and physics this time, thankfully I pulled through.
Overall, thank you for playing and for telling about the part where you skipped a large part of the game, I'll try to fix that along with the jumping!
Oh and the snow, I'll let you in on a secret... you forgot to bring a bucket!
@thebreakfast Many people are suggesting music, but im really bad at making music! O no! Oh well, i'll try learning how to make a little as this whole pandemic blows over I guess. As for the levels, I might continue the game in the future, but I'll be honest, no promises. Thank you playing, and the feedback!
@g-a-gamestudio I'll try to fix them. Thanks for playing!
I finally got around to playing this game, and I don't feel like I did it justice. The art style and mood were absolutely great, always felt like there was going to be something right around the next corner, and it cant be helped by the fact that im not very good with horror.
What I also really like is how simple the gameplay is, and yet both how relevant it was to the theme and how well it was implemented. Im not sure how it was on the original jam version, but on the updated version the controls and movement felt solid.
Sadly I never managed to finish the game, getting lost in this deep, creepy labyrinth, but overall I can say it was a fantastic entry, and underated!
Considering it was made in around 7-8 hours, that's some pretty sweet art. Also really like the sound
Nada bad
Very nice entry! I loved the art style and the music is top notch. The gameplay was also very nice and smooth. Especially liked the way player deaths and respawns are handled.
My only one slight complaint is that you stop when ever you shoot a bullet, which slightly messes up the game feel because im used to running and gunning in top down shooters, but this is a very minor complaint.
Overall, very very good.
Somewhat figured out the game worked, made some money, did some stuff, got uber stressed. I don't see a foreseeable goal however, so it kinda just felt like me clicking on buttons for the hell of it.
Maybe some instructions would be nice.
Gotta give it though, the game looks good, and in my opinion Nick pacing around the room was well done.
The graphics looked good, and the sounds were nice. The theme was also well implemented
Gameplay got repetitive rather quickly though, and the turning was a bit finiky (kept over shooting).
**Sorry, accidentally commented on the wrong game**
The island was pretty big! Got kinda lost a little navigating it, maybe a minimap would fix that. Also, like the other players mentioned, some instructions wouldn't be bad.
Other than that though, not bad, the music was pretty nice
The simplistic graphics are very well done! I also like the music. It would have been nice to have a way to combat viruses however, maybe a pill you can get from somewhere that can stop you from taking damage once?
Played on PC and it had a bit of a learning curve, controls were a little less intuitive (traditional Space for jump and/or up arrow key would have been better in my opinion), but nonetheless im pretty sure had I played it awhile more I would have gotten the hang of it.
Other than that, artstyle is simple but good and consistent; audio is nice; level design could have been better, and if the entire game was polished and improved it would make a very nice coop game, as hacksawunit mentioned.
Overall, not a bad game that has potential.
A very interesting concept. Learning how to properly serve ( i think that's how it's called, never played volleyball ) was a bit of a learning curve, but I eventually got the hang of it. The sound effects and visuals were neat.
Honestly, I like the idea so much I want to see an actual game made out of it.
The graphics looked good, and the sounds were nice. The theme was also well implemented
Gameplay got repetitive rather quickly though, and the turning was a bit finiky (kept over shooting).
Very nice game. I really liked the artstyle, sound and mood, they gave the game a fantastic atmosphere. The dialog was also well done, albiet sometimes a lil hard to read.
Took me quite awhile to figure out you could throw the president through the fence though. Really hope to see more levels!
I like the idea and the game , and it was pretty nicely executed. It took me some fiddling around to figure out how the game worked but after that, it was pretty much smooth sailing.
Art and sound were also nice
That was nice. The style of the models was nice and simple to me, and I like the concept behind the game. Also, Ivan's voice acting is 10/10, props to whoever did it.
Also found one slight bug ( I think, maybe? ), it being that if you launch a duck at a wall and then quickly rotate the level before it hits, there is a chance it will just fly off the map (I assume because wall aint there no more).
Other than that, nicely done
The graphics and style are really nice, and it's easy to learn how to play.
It's a little frustrating when doctors /nurses/surgeons finish their actions and you dont notice because of how many people crowded in the room, but with time I got used to it.
As hiisileiri pointed out, switching between them could have also been better, since sometimes I would accidentally send the wrong person while assuming I selected the right one, especially when I first started playing.
The fox is really cute! The graphics and sound were also very nice and it gave a nice mood.
It's a bit frustrating needing to restart all the way back when the fire dies, and I need to do whole sections again because I cant time it right. Checkpoints maybe?
Other than that, it was a pretty nice game
I tried it for about 10 minutes, still not really sure how the game works.
Got to space and figured out the food and oxygen and everything, but still dont know how to gather resources.
Great nice idea, and nicely made, I like it!
I enjoyed this game quite well, since I like zeppelins and absolutely loved the art style. The SFX were also quite nice and gave a good atmosphere.
My only complaint is that I wish the level was longer and slightly more detailed.
Overall, nice work!
A very simple yet very well executed game, the art and sounds created a nice lil mood, and the gameplay was pretty smooth. One detail I like is how the screen slightly shifts when you change lanes, which in my opinion really adds to the feel of the game.
The only two things I can nitpick on for me was that the game was a little easy, and there are too few powerups in the web version, although I see the latter was fixed in the mobile version.
All in all, i'd say it's a simple yet good entry.
Very original! I really like the simplistic art style and the music.
After a while though the game kind of gets repetitive.
Surprisingly addictive, the concept behind it is interesting. The mood created by the artstyle and the music was very good, and the gameplay is simple but nonetheless pretty good.
Only suggestion is menu sounds, but im basically nit picking at that point.
got to level 18 and diiiiiied! Damn Parisians and their driving skills (car drove into my lane and hit me side on, twice, even after honking) Overall, neat lil game, nice sounds, and a decent challenge
I loved this game. The cards felt fair and fun, and it always felt great to plan ahead and think of what cards to use in what order. The enemies were also interesting, especially the fact that they did different things each turn. Aesthetic is pleasing and the audio feedback responsive, no to mention the good polish. In the end I dont have any critiques tbh (except for the itch game page, the shade of purple is a lil too extreme for me).
Ended up Omae wa mou shindeiru-ing the final boss after it suddenly spawned more enemies at 2 health but I had a golden 4 dmg to all enemies.
Great game overall, really enjoyed it.
Another nice and moody game. Although I agree with Pete Valeo on the gameplay aspect, the particularly impressive part to me was the hiding system. It seemed very versatile, even moving you around trees away from enemies. Art and sound was also nice.
If only there was a bit more to do, not that I didnt enjoy it. Nice work!
Right, replying time.
@fpoli Thanks for playing! I feel that alot of people had the time-loop-and-then-some idea. In my case I tried to go with a simple and simplistic one. Hope your game goes well too.
@kazatan Yeah, muddling through was kind of the idea. Partially because I felt the mechanics were simple enough that a few play throughs was all that was needed, and partially because the game is just really, really short once you get the hang of it. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
@bukkaketears Yep! The codes for both the doors and the bomb are randomized each time so as to provide some replay ability. Also glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
@zimny11 I agree, originally the pressure plate for the door was gonna be an axe instead, where you had to grab it and smash a door down. But after considering that the player had to run to, then back, and the very tight time constraint, I felt a pressure plate was more logical.
If I continue the game in the future there will defo be more mechanics, but for now, this is all I could fit. Thank you for playing and the feedback!
@infraxion Never did that until now, enjoyed the impromptu flashbang. Thank you for playing!
@probeprob Glad I could destroy a few ears by accident. Thx for playing and leaving a comment!
@toby1645 Thanks for playing and for telling. I never realized the 2's looked like Z's until now, but now that I look at it I definitely agree. As for the just-defuse-at-start part, I didn't know how to fix that. Maybe I could force the player to go get a plier instead of a code.
@wtfree Thank you! and thanks for playing.
@bicheste Glad you liked it, and thx for playing!
@ondy1985 That was a problem I didnt end up managing to fix. I could have rigged up a system where the colour changed but I wasnt sure if that would help, and I was under real life time restraints (not just LD, have exams) so I ended up not doing anything bout it, sorry. Still, thanks for playing and the feedback!
@shubart I was gonna add the reboot key and I forgot! As for the keyboard, wasnt sure how and unfortunately I was out of time. Nonetheless thanks for giving feedback, and thank *you*, for playing!
@fingamer The slider was based on an idea I had awhile ago (and still plan to use in it's original form some day in the future), and im glad you liked it! TQ for playing and the comment.
@rinish Thank you, and thanks for playing!
@gonzalol TQ for playing and leaving a comment!
@xedur Glad to hear that, I honestly wasnt too sure how the game was gonna turn out but im happy you liked it! Thanks for playing and commenting about it!
@lady-stardust Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it!
@lexi Keyboard code input was an idea but sadly time constraints meant it was one of the few things that got cut short. Thxs for telling about it and for playing!
@iak That's an interesting bug, never had it before, probably very rare. May or may not look into it. Thanks for reporting it and for playing the game!
@3mpty What the fu-. How the hell? Even using the same technique I cant get that score, props to you. Tq for playing and the comment! (srlys tho how da hell)
@perpetuareality Thanks for the feedback! My last LD game was long, reaaaaaaaaally long even tho it was somewhat well polished. Reception was generally alright but it came 300 or so (players didnt have the patience to get through it). Thus this LD I set out to do the opposite, a really short, solid game.
From the comments atleast, it appears to have worked out. Also glad you liked the formula bit. Thanks for playing!
@spacecadet Thank you! Thx for playing and the comment.
@rrawrr TQ for playing!
@dodidouda Happy you liked it, thx for playing!
@jima Indeed, as it turned out later on Construct 2 was a liiiiil slow in terms of counting.
Eh, better more than less, keeps up the tension. Thanks for playing, and the comment!
@beavergames Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the game and thank you for playing!
@m0dsat And thank you for playing, and for leaving a comment!
@javicepa Where exactly did you get stuck? I forgot to add a abort button to send you back to the menu so reloading would be the best option I guess. Thanks for playing and for telling!
@vollfeiw Thank you!
@tamail Tried to nail the controls this time since they were a major pain in my last LD + this was a time based game. Glad you liked it and thanks for playing!
@croxel-studios A laptop? Christ I didn't think of that, maybe I really should have tried harder to add a keypad thingy. Thanks for telling about it and for playin!
@badpiggy Thanks for playing and the feedback piggy! I'll probably start rating and playing other games tomorrow (exams, still in the middle of). Gl with your entry too.
@suchista I think so! Jesus people are better at this than I thought. yeah, the guessing the code problem was a thing, and I couldnt think of a way to fix it without blocking the possibility (I actually kinda didnt wanna, but looking back at it, I should have). In the future I might add such a block though.
Thank you for the feedback and for playing!
@pndaa People are starting to bring up the '2' problem, at first I didnt think this was a problem but it obviously is one, after the jam ill probably end up fixing it.
As for the 'e', agree, should have made it something like space, probably will after the jam.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@superunknown TQ and thanks for playing!
@garys Yeah, ideally there would be more variation but real life stuff cut down my jam time, so here's what came out. As for the keypad, also didnt have time to implement :<. Thank you very much for following the posts, and thanks for both playing and feedback!
@vaulkhar-alexis You can actually change the time of the loop! At the starting menu there is a slider below the title, that changes the how long you have until the bomb explodes. Less time will also give you a higher score! TQ for playing.
@fishmasterino Thank you for the comment and for playing!
@glayson Well im happy you played my game alot, although be careful not to get addicted! lmao, jokes aside thanks for playing and for leaving a comment!
@tricky-fat-cat Thank you! ill be sure to get to your team's game tomorrow, wish you well!
@ree-rolph 2 seconds is actually pretty good! I even I struggled at 2.5. Also barely remember McPixel, it's somewhat old now isnt it?. Thx for playing!
@malai Hah, sometimes my past ghost even screw me over as well. There were times i see my ghosts standing on a pressure pad, then the moment I walk on a platform over spikes they walk off! I originally intended to have better level generation but in the end most was hard coded :<. Nonetheless thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
@vodkhard You can always turn the slider to the right to give you more time! If you dont know where it is it's under the title in the starting menu, below the numbers. Thanks for playing and for telling!
@zrepa Yeah that is a problem, when you have so many clones you cant tell where you are. Maybe in the future ill make the colours different. Thank you for playing!
@neontropics Im so sorry for not considering laptop users! This was never a problem before so I slightly overlooked and didnt get to implement a keypad system in time. In the future ill defo also be working with laptops in mind. Thanks for playing and for telling me about it!
@jonah Thx! and thx for playin!
@holyperceval That's strange, probably a slight bug. Ill try to fix it post jam. Thanks for playing!
@thomas-carey Thank you! I really hoped everything would come together nicely, and in terms of bugs, this one has the least thankfully.https://ldjam.com/markdown TQ for playing and for commenting here!
@stadoblech Thanks, and thank you for playing!
@int "Not sure if some levels can be completed on lower times" That was a bit of a problem, and in the end I couldnt fix it because the scoring system was added post level gen system and it was pretty late in the jam. /shrug .Nonetheless thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@gamedev-and-architecture Thank you for playing! I wanted a fast short game, and so 5 seconds was the limit!
@mog13 As with all the other laptop users, im extremely sorry for not considering touch pads might be used and not adding a keypad system as a priority. Wont happen again I promise. Thanks for playing the game and leaving a coment!
@geryon-games Thank you! Both for playing and the feedback!
@kohcepba True, absolutely true. But in the end I just left that in. Partially because I wasnt sure how to block it until the end and partially because I was ok with players just cheezing it, because if they like it, then sure, why not?. Thanks for playing!
@watermelonandme Basically: player movement and animation was recorded every tick and then added to an array. When player dies, make them semi transparent, turn off movement + collisions and make them follow the array. Make a new player at spawn location and respective array then have the player control that instead.
Rinse, repeat.
Most of the code was borrowed and modded from here: https://www.construct.net/en/forum/construct-2/how-do-i-18/replay-meatboy-55099
GL!
Jesus, right, reply wall round 2
@hardscore Yeah, I wanted to have 4 wires but I didnt know how to randomly shuffle letters, so I ended up sticking with 3 even though it could be brute forced (better than confusing the player). Thanks for playing!
@pikachurian I think you can actually, even though it was not intended. Might actually be a slight bug. Also, thanks for telling me about the bug at the end there, and thanks for playing!
@esseisso TQ for playing and glad you liked it!
@karin-g Thank you and thanks for playing!
@krg It felt it was simple enough to not need some and I just didnt add one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Thank you for playing!
@azsteak I miiiiiight continue in the future, although havent yet with any of my previous jam games (maybe after I get the hang of Unity) Nonetheless thanks for playing and for leaving a comment!
@hoolop Thank you, and thanks for playing!
@zero-ichi Thx! TQ for playing as well and for leaving a comment!
@steventus Steve! Will try to get to your game soon as possible. Im glad you liked it and thanks for leaving the detailed feedback!
@yeti-kid Thank you! Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!
@clode I see, guess I really do need to work on added a "send back to menu" button. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@frankarlovic Thank you for playing! Some people are suggesting tutorials, but honestly im leaning more towards hinting at stuff then letting the player go wild.
@archock34 Thank you, and thx for playin!
@keldy TQ! and thank you for playing.
@guilhermesouza I might or might not! depends on the future (and after I learn to properly use Unity). TQ for playing and for leaving a comment here.
@jcourt Yeah, that was a tactic some people figured out and honestly I was alright with it (though in the future I miiiiight prevent this by only allowing this after getting the bomb code). As for the setting the bomb to 0, didnt think of that and well, if you like flashbangs have fun I guess. Thx for playing!
@theseusinabottle Thank you! Thx for playing as well.
@heyllopotato Yeah, the key codes are randomly generated each time so you cant use the same one. This is meant for more replayability of sorts. Thanks for playing!
@sirred Ah, I guess the animations could be changed or made faster then. Thanks for leaving feedback and for playing!
@matchaflavor The "set timer to 0" thing was absolutely an accident! (though I probably would have left it in anyhow). Still, thanks for playing and the comment!
@victor-vk If I ever continue this game in the future ill definitely give it better level generation! Although I cannot guarantee that will happen :/ . Thank you for playing!
@indivicivet I absolutely agree with the last paragraph, in the end I didnt manage to get enough things for the player to do in a single run, and in hindsight there were things I could have added for this. As for the 4th wire, the only reason I didnt add it is because I didnt know how to shuffle letters instead of numbers for the sequence generation, and I didnt wanna confuse the player between the code and the bomb wire sequence.
As for level generation, if I get back to this than yes, but that would probably be a while off since im currently still getting the hang of unity. Thanks for playing and the nice feedback!
@samdwester Glad you liked it, thanks for playing!
@snowinn Only if I continue this in the future sadly, bogged down with both studies and learning unity. Nontheless thanks for playing!
@sean-holloway Dont worry this was a problem for a good portion of the players. In hindsight this was a bit of an oversight and I should have prioritised adding keypad support than leaving it out. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@marbles What exactly did you do? Because the codes are randomized each time, although maybe there is a glitch somewhere. Thanks for telling about it and for playing!
@coderaurus Glad you still enjoyed playing through it normally even after cheezing it! TQ for playing!
@cliffracerx Agree with the "more rooms" part, ideally most of this would have been randomly generated, but in the end I hard coded most of it since I was worried about it kinda bugging out and giving impossible levels. Still, thanks for the comment with all the feedback and thanks for playing!
@saurterrs Happy you liked it and thanks for playing!
@crazi456 Maybe in the future when I have time ill remake this game in unity with better level generation. Thanks for playing!
@neithr Yeah, lots of people tried that surprisingly. Hell I wonder why I didnt think of setting it to 0 myself. Either way, thanks for playing!
@arad-hamidsamiee Maybe, currently I have exams and afterwards I need to both get the hand of Unity and prepare for further studies. But if I ever get the chance I might make it into a proper game! Thanks for playing and the kind words!
@karolina-lewszyk Thank you for trying out the game and for planning to come back! I used a colour palette I found online: https://lospec.com/palette-list/slso8, credits to Luis Miguel Maldonado.
@shyrro Thank you, and TQ for playing!
@hengen Happy you thought so, and thx for playing!
@meskaline Yeah, the lack of levels is really a limiting factor for this game. Might fix this in the future with proper level gen depending on the situation. Also, it really is a nice colour palette isnt it? Glad to know you used it too. Thank you for playing!
@julienlussiez Thank you for playing, im glad you liked it and thank you so much for noticing the blog posts!
@tipyx Im happy you though so. One of the goals of this game was to be as small a package as possible while packing the biggest punch. More is less, if you will. And although I didnt quite achieve this im still happy people liked it.
Oh yeah, and the levels, no absolutely it needs more levels, hell they were suppose to be randomly generated but I never got to it.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@pradhuman Yeah, I really regret not adding a reset button at this point since some people as it turns out need to reload the page a few times. Tq for playing and the comment!
@gudner You can actually increase the difficulty somewhat by decreasing the time limit via the slider. As for the levels and a full release, if I ever get to it. Thank you for playing!
@food-lovers There are actually different levels, but the level random generation thingy is waaaay too stiff so I might rework it in the future. Thank you for the feedback and for playing!
@jusw85 Got it, if I ever get back to this game id definitely add it. Thx for playing!
@mrsilverhelmet Thank you and thx for playing!
@keylime TQ, and thx for leaving a comment and playing!
@yword Thanks! And I appreciate it for playing!
@momo-hunter Thank you, thanks for playing!
@unicornfrog And thank you for playing and for leaving a comment!
@rangoiv Yeah, game is a bit limited as of now. If I ever get the time and finish getting the hang of unity ill probably come back to add better level generation and obstacles. Thx for playing and the feedback!
@wormholegames Agree, game needs more levels. It was gonna have random level generation but it didnt quite work out. Thanks for playing!
@merpui Thank you, and thx for playing!
@gale-swift Thank you for playing and leaving a comment! might check your game out later if I have the time.
@finn-tr Thx for playing and for the feedback!
@nareh I hoped to implement some solid random level generation into the game but that didnt happen. I might still do that in the future along with some other stuff if I get the time and get the hang of unity to remake the game in. Thanks for playing!
@cyphyrgriffon It's a really nice colour palette and im glad other people are using it too. Thanks for playing!
@mr-developer What explosion bugs were there? Was it exploding infinitely? I didnt encounter many bugs regarding explosions so any detail helps. Thanks for playing and for leaving a comment!
@blaster391 Thanks for playing! Yeah, I decided to allow the player to guess and let them know what would happen if they messed up :3
@daniel-whittaker Thank you, and thanks for playing!
@majadroid Thank you and thx for leaving feedback!
@wizard-sino Nah it's fine, some people even liked it surprisingly. Thx for playing!
@sirkovitch Thank you for leaving a comment about those points and thank you for playing!
@fragileannihilator Glad you figured it out eventually. If you're wondering how the ghosts were made you can look here: https://www.construct.net/en/forum/construct-2/how-do-i-18/replay-meatboy-55099 where most of the code was borrowed and modified. but to sum it up (copied from my reply to someone else also asking the same question):
player movement and animation was recorded every tick and then added to an array. When player dies, make them semi transparent, turn off movement + collisions and make them follow the array. Make a new player at spawn location and respective array then have the player control that instead.
Rinse, repeat.
Thank you for playing!
that was a looooooong session of typing and an even longer wall of text. ***Ctrl + F to find the reply to you if needed***
I really like this one. The minimalistic look is really well done and I like how simple but solid the mechanic is. Also, nicely polished, didnt get any bugs or anything at all.
Only 2 things: 1, I wish there were more levels, although I get that time was limited and it probably wasnt easy to get the physics and stuff working (gj).
2, Perhaps making the view area larger, or for allowing zooming in and out, since it's a lil hard to keep track when planets get far from the sun and fly off somewhere only to come plowing into another planet when it comes back.
Other than that, great stuff, really hope this gets continued in the future.
This is a reaaaaally cool idea. I like the concept and the execution, although it was hard getting used to where to look and figure out where to go sometimes.
On the last level it took me awhile before I realized where the portal was, and because of this I got lost alot since I was using the portal as an anchor point to find out where I was.
Still, solid game with some nice models as well, this could work really nicely as a full game.
Man this must have been reaaaaaaally rushed, considering there are not even walls and you can just walk off into the void lmao. That aside, atleast you did finish something.
GL on your exams!
I quite liked the sound effects and the movement felt smooth. I also like the easy mode for guys that cant beat it at normal difficulty. Even the art during gameplay was very neat.
I kinda wish the looping concept was used a lil more though, since it just came down to dodging alot, and not creatively using the mechanic to kill the boss.
Also, boost was a really nice addition. Overall, nice game!
Agree with PixelMoose, really moody game. I especially liked the art style, it works for both the mood and the goal of the game. Gameplay was also simple enough to figure out quickly ( the hallways acting as a nice tutorial ). Overall, neat game!
Untitled.png
job well done
Right, promise is a promise. For how simple it looks at first glance the game is surprisingly solid. I like how enemies follow your movement and how simplistic but effective the art style is. It's also really easy to pick up since it's so simple.
If there's is anything to add... maybe a grace period when enemy drones spawn I guess, since a few times I would pass by the spawn point and then get rammed immediately out of nowhere by a spawning drone. But other than that I cant think of anything else to critique really.
Overall, solid game, I can see why it's so high up now.
Finally got to this. The mood and art is superb, some of the best ive seen so far, as per the audio. At first I didnt realize dash was 8 directions (didnt read the last part) but after I did everything was smooth sailing as well. Overall, pretty nice platformer!
Really interesting take on the theme, although in the end I didnt quite manage to figure out how to properly use the sextant to find the various angles and locations I needed and resorted (like Pizzasgood) to purely using angles instead. Maybe in a future version this can be fixed with a more interactive tutorial to hammer home the basics and mechanics of it
Nonetheless the graphics are pretty good and honestly I want to go back and properly work out how to use the sextant. Nice entry that I hope get's taken further!
I really like the aesthetics, the legs being a very nice touch. The wand picking up mechanic was interesting as well and hits felt nice and meaty. It took me 3 tries to beat the game and the final boss was a bit tough, but enough spamming did the trick.
Overall, a neat little game with some great art.
I like how the level literally loops around! The ability to create platforms was a nice touch.
At first I didnt know what to do, kinda just walking around and such and quickly learning not to touch le red portals. It wasnt until I jumped into one of the circle go-to-next-level things(?) for shits and giggles that I realized how to proceed. Perhaps a bit more info or maybe making it more obvious where to go in the future. Still, nice lil game
Congratz on your first jam as well! Hope you continue in the future.
@nicolas-kroupensky There actually is an objective, just gimme a moment to place it on the page! Thx for trying btw
@nicolas-kroupensky Alrite, stuff is up.
@candlebird Essentially there was something in the previous large chamber you gotta kill.
Unless you did that, which then I gotta fix game breaking bug
@morr Aight, sounds like a bug gimme a bit to fix
@pandalk Huh, small world. Ill defo go check it out later. Thx for checking out btw!
@candlebird So essentially there is a decent sized beast in the 2nd to final chamber which you need to kill in order to finish. Altho admittedly it is somewhat easy to miss since the space is quite large. Thanks for the feedback and playing!
@morr Basically the same as the reply above, there's a final monster to fight which is slightly easy to miss . Other than that thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@flatgub I tried to make the deadends not too punishing but guess I still made em slightly too large. Thanks for the praise, feedback and playing!
@twowolf They were infact part of the game's design, but I was worried they were malfunctioning so I did some stuff just incase.(You were suppose to find out how to kill the boss using the keypad, which would tell you the static contacts were sea-mines) As for the pacing ill probably slightly increase post jam.
Thanks for the feedback and playing!
@constantine-pallas Now that you mention it, it does look slightly like Lunar Lander in terms of art style! I also didnt wanna use audio jumpscares because I wanted the tension to build up over time, and finally release at the boss.
As for the message system you honestly make a good point, as it can probably help clear up alot of points. Other than that thanks for reporting the M bug and thanks for playing!
@rainysolar Thank you for the kind words and thx for playing!
@briibot Originally contact type was through the message system, until I though maybe I should give the player a database thing instead and let them spook themselves. Also glad that the suspense thing worked out for you.
Really sad the boss kinda broke at the end, ill try and see what causes it. That aside, thank you for the very detailed comment, feedback and for playing!
@franciszek-pyrc I semi-disagree. I disagree because aggressive fish only attack you after they get pinged by sonar, so by not using it you essentially become invisible. Combine this with the decoy and you can escape sticky situations where you need to create some distance between you and an adversary. I agree because this case is kinda rare. (still trying to find a better way to discourage spamming sonar)
Other than that, thanks for playing!
@morr The mines! Littered all over the place. Maybe I should make it more obvious somehow
@sebbernery Thank you for the congratz. In regards to the database: yeah, I did try to somewhat explain it in the message but it's clear images would be better.
32m and 5m intentionally dont give results to build suspense. Overall I kinda just need to better explain the game in general. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@phobos001 Numpad is not very well explained, but essentially if you key in and search the size of the contact (ie: 1m), it would return what the contact was (ie: Tuna). This plays a somewhat significant role at the end of the game since it let's you know that there are mines you can use to kill enemies. Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
@quantumseagull Yeah the stutteri-ness is a side effect of the game's pixel art design. Maybe I can somehow fix it in the future. Nonetheless thank you for bringing it up and thanks alot for playing!
@jeremia The points are sonar contacts, essentially fish, sharks etc. The measurements correspond to the size of the contact (which can be used in conjuction with the numpad to the right). Probably could have explained better. Thanks for bringing it up and for playing!
@grena Thank you for playing, to address your points:
- How slow and what browser were you using? On chrome it runs fine for most but there has been one case where it lagged significantly and resulted in very slow movement - Those are sonar contacts, essentially fish, sharks etc. The keypad is a database that tells you what the fish is. - That is intentional, if I made every single creature bee-line it would be waaaaaaay too easy. - There are mines which damage the worm, basically all the 2m contacts. As for fleeing they will still keep attacking you unless you use a decoy and stop using sonar immediately after.
@kinart @poetril Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@jimmothysanchez Yeah, ideally I would have added a tutorial but sadly ran out of time. Thx for playing and the feedback!
@superpokeunicorn Mhm, I wanted make a game where the thing happening simply wasnt the end of it. Sadly I wasnt able to add a proper tutorial before the deadline so had to settle with the current help system. Might try developing a proper game from this in the future. Thx for the feedback and for playing!
@witherk I was worried I wouldn't make the deadline haha. Unfortunately couldnt add a tutorial in time, the coup time jumps up in the event you manage to sabotage a rebel general. Thanks for trying out and for playing!
@vorpalsnark Thank you and thx for the feedback!
@boxedmeatrevolution I wanted to add the troop movement idea! This game idea kinda was sitting in the back of my head for a bit and this is basically a lite version of that. Perhaps in the future if I do decide to go ahead with a relatively large game that will probably be added. Thanks for the valuable feedback and for playing!
@toastertot Dammit, figured there were gonna be a coup of bugs. I'll go work it out and pop up a patched version. Thx for the bug report!
Didn't get the warning, so I guess it does work now. It's honestly a pretty neat simple game that's quite intuitive.
1 slight knit pick I have is that turning on the music was a lil jarring, but it faded into the BG by the end. Nice work!
The concept was good, but, as the comment stated above, it would be better to change the card placing mechanic. The game was quite good, and I enjoyed it fairly, just a lil confused at first.
This was a great experience. The combination between the two genres were interesting, and adding in the explosive zombies made it quite a chaotic one late game.
Very well done for such a short amount of time and one man team, the animations were great and the mechanics were simple but engaging. Great Job!
The concept was interesting and the game was quite fun, however after I ran out of plasteel I also ran out of options. This game has potential and I hope it can further expanded upon
A creative and fun game that I greatly enjoyed, albiet didnt really strategize.
The game was quite fun and challenging, and I sad to see that you did not have enough time to add more levels, along with an ending. Hope it get expanded on
The game was quite interesting, and the backstory was pretty well done, especially for a Ludum dare entry.
It was (altho the player sometimes blocking the test was annoying) fun, and I quite like the 2 themes used in the game. Good job
The game too me is solid. The gameplay is smooth, and the music really gets you into the mood. Overall, a good game
An interesting game, but except for the breaking boulder quest there is not much else to do. It has potential however, and I hope it can be expanded upon
A simple but surprisingly addictive and fun game, I liked it There was also a small glitch where I think my car fell through the world or something, but the game didnt end
The art is very nicely done and the game was quite polished. However I could barely see infront of me so id often hit walls. Nevertheless it was a fun experience and I enjoyed it.
It was fun and I enjoyed it very well, good job
Currently working on fixing the above issues, 1 second ladies and gentlemen.
@tthe @niksorvari @pavel-smejkal
Alrighttttt. I tried my best to fix the issues above and I hope that you guys can actually play the game now.
Id like to thank you guys for telling me what problems there are so I can work on them. (special one to tthe)
Id also like to apologize to anyone who has tried but could not play the game because of the previously stated problems.
Enjoy!
@Yetman Hey presto! I have changed the empty locations into "-", sadly clickteam fusion does not allow (or atleast I think so) individual letters have their colours changed without affecting the whole screen. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy it better with the new map.
Huh, Ai might be buggier than I though.
Ok, fixed (fine, disabled, never rly was important) what I think as causing this to occur, hopefully wont happen again.
Thx @Yetman for letting me know
After this is over I might just do a major AI overhaul on a later date
Noted, will be done, will also take some time
PS: Uh, few months since I got another main project, I will gladly pass on the code and permission to anyone wanting to further push this game tho. Sorry.
This was really fun and I enjoyed it very much, the only trouble was other cars crashing into each other, but that only adds to the experience. I also like that you had to plan ahead and anticipate how your car was going to move during each turn.
Overall, loved it
At first I was a bit confused as to what to do, and when I eventually got the hang of it I kept getting stuck, unable to move. Nevertheless I feel like the concept was good, and that if further polished, would prove to be a great game.
A very nicely done game that has nice, simple graphics and great gameplay . It was very nicely polished and I had quite the fun.
The idea was interesting and the game was well made and polished. But I would also like the ideas above possible added to the game, nevertheless I enjoyed it well.
Hah, the game was quite fun and I enjoyed it well. It felt well polished, and the gameplay was solid. Also come and play my aswell: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/the-iron-front .
Weeeeeeeell ill admit im not very good at this game, but it sure was fun. It was well polished and the only problem I ran into was the input delay, like the guy stated above.
i very well enjoyed it, and props to the guys who made it
This is pretty good. The gameplay was simple but straightforward, and it was pretty fun. However I feel like there should be a small minimap of sorts, where the location of the bikers are shown. This gives somewhat of an idea of when they will arrive, and prepare for it. Good job, keep going.
It was fun but after a short while its over. Graphics were pretty good and the gameplay was nice, it would be better if expanded upon tho.
