This is a nice and polished game! The mechanics are fluid, and puzzles are well made. The floating soul is a nice way to explore the map ahead of any move too.
I felt that the crackle effect, while it looks nice, becomes hard to look at after a while. The story screens when the game starts could benefit from a "next screen" button (instead of only the option to skip). The tutorial was also well done and easy to follow.
Oh, the link is described as "source code", but it's the actual game.

Outstanding presentation! The graphics, music and the whole mood might be among the best in the jam. Congrats!
Regarding the gameplay: Everything is a bit slow. The first level was fun, however almost a tutorial. Then the second level was very convoluted already. A little map, or at least an arrow pointing to the goal door, would have gone a long way.
After I solved level 2 I felt like I finally understood the mechanics well enough. Sadly, the game was over already. I did not opt to hunt for the good ending due to the low walking speed of the character.
So, I think you invested your time quite well in the presentation, which left you short on level design time. If you add more levels in a post-jam version, please let me know.
This is one fantastic looking game! The grainy effect really helped sell the old-timey cartoon aesthetic. I also thought the suicide animation was hilariously graphic. There are a lot of little details to appreciate here, well done!
I did feel as though the difficulty spiked up pretty fast though. The first level was a great intro/tutorial to the mechanics. But the level after that was fairly sprawling and maze-like. I found myself getting soft-locked a lot, because my main character (who could jump the highest) fell into a pit that was inescapable. The restart button helped alleviate a lot of the frustration though. This almost feels more like a puzzle game than a platformer, and I'm a fan!
This is some awesome work!

This game looks really good. The animation was just on point and the film grain effect really added to the final result.
The gameplay was interesting but the controls were sluggish and the character moved too slowly, which meant that restarting a level took forever. I also wish there was some indicator that showed what there is when you jump down some random hole because it took like 5-10 tries more to complete the second level just because I jumped into water and died. This could also have been solved using some platforms the player could jump down to (so there is a reaction time factor).
All in all, the idea of this game is incredible and this game has potential if you improve the controls.
I must say, the graphics where genius! Making your game look smooth and good looking while managing to cut down on animation by keeping with the old timey look, genius!
I also really like the idea, and although it isn't really 'currency', it was still put to good use!
Overall, great game!

Great graphics, really hope you will fix bug with drowning :)
A bit dark game play but well executed probably everybody will say this but i love this style. I do feel waling is a bit slowish that i think if i would play it a lot it would get a bit irritating but for the little bit i played it did not mater that much

Insane graphics with awesome take on the whole theme. Downing and movement are still not perfect and you know that but the game itself is awesome and keep on working on it because you got a great game in your hands :)

Great graphics, it's mind-blowing to think that you've made this in such a little time! I just think that the karma ends too fast compared to the general speed of the game, but besides that, great entry!

It's not letting me rate your game because I'm not... a participant? Even though we literally shared a room? But Y'ALL KNOW I LOVE THIS!!!
@laurie I think the problem is that you didn't publish your game onto this website or you wasn't added as a contributor. Talk with your team about it :D I dont think you can upload it anymore buuuuuut maybe :b

Nah dude, it's all there, including my name - in fact, you can see it by clicking my name and then going to "Games". I've messaged the fellow in charge via twitter, hopefully he'll sort it - otherwise how's our game supposed to get those reciprocal boosts?

And, of course, how the heck am I supposed to shout in numbers about how much I love your game?!

The game is super cool. The idea and gameplay is great. The presentation is simply amazing. The music is amazing. Artstyle, animation, old cartoony look, all this make this game super unique! Awesome job!
It's beautiful, I'm not going to deny the audio. Okay, it's a game. Congratulations.
