I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but I must admit the dialogue was pretty hilarious! You should share on Twitter so more people get to experience it too :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD40 → Gina's Bed & Breakfast

I like the different perspective switches. There was a lot of pushing the right key, and I was wondering why the character wouldn't just walk past the hamburgers instead of eating everything he comes across.
@lks1990, the excessive pushing of the keys is meant to happen. It fits the theme: the more calories you gain, the more tired you get, the more stopping and catching breath you do. The forcing of eating burgers was so it could keep the dialog showing and the reason for eating every time was that he kept getting exhausted.
The game's story really fits the theme. The dialogs also add a touch of humor to the game and overall, its pretty good
That motel experince sounds hellish. Burgers for breaskfast!
If you think about it, the story is pretty dark... The poor guy is stuck in a time loop, eating unhealthy and disgusting burgers for the rest of his life... But I'd eat burgers for breakfast!
What a clever art style and the game is really funny! I started laughing at the "ending", but I don't want to spoil anything for anybody. At the beginning the visuals seemed a bit confusing but by the end they seem intuitive and have really grown on me, great game!
Thank you, @be3n2. Yeah I love the ending.
I have noticed from other people I have shown the game to, one also said that the first room was a bit confusing. I might improve the upstairs room to solve these problems.
Also, thanks everyone for commenting great things!
Gordon Ramsay approves! :D
Well ... it definitely fits the theme. :hamburger:
It is an interesting idea to give the player a similar miserable experience to the character. Every time I approached a hamburger I wanted to go around so I wouldn't get stopped by text again.
I'd like to see more things like this.
The dialogues were hilarious, I had a great time playinf this game !
Thanks for your wonderful feedback, @wujood, @move127 and @cocapasteque! I'm glad you like it.
Ha, I liked the ending. I'm not going to rate; I'm actually surprised that's an option. I thought only compo people could rate other compo people. So, I'm not rating because as a jammer (not compoer) I don't feel qualified to rate.
I can see why I shouldn't eat so many burgers now.
One good point for using bitsy ! Surprisingly, the dialogs did not work that well for me... Event if I've got the idea, I felt that it was not evolving that much, and that it was lacking progression. The various scenes work well for me though.
A very creative approach on the theme! The dialog was funny and I liked the text effects in it. Although the game aimed to make me think about my diet, it kind of made me crave burgers now :D
This was great! I loved all the different locations and that ending. I wish it had a bit of sound. Good job!
Creamy post processing, looks good. Funny and creative. :)
One criticism: As I was spamming the arrow keys to move, I couldn't stop myself in time to read the dialog and accidentally dismissed it too early. Very good for a game jam though!
Great game! I wish it had lasted a bit longer.
Thanks guys for the great feedback!
Also, @tvance, I hope you did not rate it badly for that reason.
Story fits the theme. I kept skipping over the dialogue boxes when trying to progress.
This is one of my favorites. Love the art style. Fun and funny writing. Nice short looping experience. Just a delightful little LD experience.
@cameronjsamuels no worries, I'm not a nitpicker when it comes to rating the compo. I just appreciate it when people leave me constructive criticism :)
Fun fact : I made my first bitsy game during ludum dare, but for another game jam (happening in the same time as Ludum dare)
Your game is good, there's some clever uses of bitsy (the bus in side view for example.) although, be careful about putting invisible objects: it can be nice, but also, if the player is pressing the arrow key several times in a row to move faster, the dialogue might not be seen, especially since it's not a dialogue you can hear again.
Appart from that the game is pretty cool; the fact that the player can't do anything else than eating the things in front of him/her because of the level design is funny.
Thank you @oldpeculier, @tvance, and @regisrquoi for your terrific feedback! I'm glad you liked it!
It's a cool adventure game. I love the dialogue, it's pretty funny and nice to just look at. It would be nice though if it had a way of not getting the burgers, but I understand that it would be even more lines of dialogue and dialogue branching to do, so I understand. At first glance I had some difficulty discerning everything in the map, but as I moved between tiles the picture got very clear. Great job!
I love this type of humour! The burger a mile in the other direction? What's Gina's burger doing a mile away from her kitchen in the first place, haha. Great work on your compo entry!
I didn't mind it not having any music, I think it works quite well without any. I do however think it could benefit from some sound fx for the dialogue and the characters actions. Btw, since I'm not sure if it's on purpose, I did manage to go on the table without eating the burger and have Gina move to the side. I was then able to exit the B&B. That saved me from one disgusting burger at least!
Thanks @victor-sette and @youbestrong, I am glad you liked it!
@youbestrong, yeah, it is really humorous. But the funny thing is, the motel this game was based off of, had another building to stay in a few miles down the road (which is even more awkward).
And for the music, I might add that post jam because it would be cool to have.
Thanks everyone for your great feedback!
Haha, an artistic little story with a couple of chuckles in there. Liked the looping of the game, and the effects on the text was a nice touch! Thanks for the shoutout and review of our game!
Really nice game ! I liked the gameboy/atari style graphics, they added a little touch :)
The story was really cool and fits well the theme ^^
(also, a small bug, you can stand on the stair, going up and down every frame, making the screen alternate between the scenes, but nothing dangerous or annoying :p )
This was an interesting take on the Jam concept. The idea of narratively talking about junkfood and unhealthy diets. I think this could work for a larger game that illustrates how it can often be difficult in life to stick to a diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I think my only gripe was that the reasoning behind why you need to constantly eat the burgers felt a little flimsy. If you built upon that more I think you'd be golden.

Thanks @maakep, @dodormeur, and @larrychupacabra for you great feedback!
@larrychupacabra, great video!
Interesting game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBdKV67omDA
