Uh.
Well, is it a game? Does this fits the theme really? Don't know..
You should have wrote more theme, since there's like, just this in your game.. It's just always the same themes popping which makes it not really fun. Too bad cause the idea is funny.
It could have been cool if it was always a new theme for super long and it feels infinite (we'd stop playing before having 2 times the same theme)

Although, there's some good jokes ("I'm in", lol), but if you tell me "I'm in" 6 times, I won't laugh at the 6th time.

The thing in itself feels nice (I like the comments popping. Fun.), but it's not interactive so much (would need more stuff than just the basic generator) but it just, could have been way better, and.. does it fit the theme anyway? Aint sure.

That game is fun!
I like the distracted mechanics. It's annoying when the distracted guy like the program, but really useful when it's boring program.
Like, mom was distracted while there was football on tv and then all the other got distracted for Mom TV :D
Really nice idea.

It doesnt feel so intuitive that you have to touch the +/- buttons to change the channel (I first tried with number but it seems it was always the same channel)

It's cool, there's lot of good stuff in this. Good you didn't limited your game to the concept and try to put some "gameplay" in it with score and everything.

It's so difficult sometime, specially first phase I think (which is bad, cause it makes the goal less clear.)
I love how you got the theme. This is really interesting. The gameplay is really cool, it feels fun and the idea is so clever...

Good use of audio feedbacks too, that was important and you did it super well!!

Oh my god! Best entry I played so far!
The concept is great and fit the theme super good (+ with the ending it's perfect)
Music was super fun too, and the game is fun really
Also, making sure the player knows he can shoot at the begining was a good/clever detail, surprised to see this on a jam, good work with that

Although there's some less good stuff, like, this bug: sometime the guy just jump when you release space, but sometime the guy jump when you press it. Made me die several times, wasnt so bad but frustrating a bit.
Oh and the boss man, a bit too hard I would say, or, not really hard but the first phase is way too long, and since the other part is die and retry more or less, it's frustrating.
But anyway the ending worth it!
Oh and I would have like some audio feedbacks with the boss (like when he use the beam attack, or stuff like this)

Fun! My best score was 31! Might play it again after I rated some other games :)

Having to go through the door at least once to get the game started is good, it makes the player understand how the doors work, but it's a bit annoying that you have to do it again everytime after you died.

It wasnt so much intuitive what the guys with the lamp will do if I touched them also, and didn't want to try because it's long to re-do a party (because of what I just said), but anyway I had to touch them at some point^^

Ps: Face's experessions are wertle so much ._. Makes the game even funnier! I specially like the "worried ghost" when you're close to be eaten, he looks so much affraid of dying D:

Just the best use the them I've seen so far. Not best interpretation I would say, but I've seen nobody who used it as good as you.
how you used the theme for your menu is just too cool guys. Great job on that. Most people are just taking the theme as something they have to work with, you used it as an ispiration to make the game even better and that's great.

The game itself is supercool, reactive, nervous, super hard in a cool way. I love it.

Maybe a bit too much "die and retry", for 2 reasons:
The player don't know the mechanics at first, so basically everytime he retries, if there's something new happening he has to die and.. retry. And it can feel unfair so that can be a bad thing.
The game is clearly made to make the player learn the patterns as he plays. (that's kind of good, specially here for the jam. For a real game maybe it would have been cool to have shorter levels that asks more skill than memory).

Mh, even if I like the difficulty of the game, maybe a health system would have been cool?
I think it wouldnt affect the experience for the player, and would have make it easier to reach the end? (and it would fix the "new mechanic" problem I talked about earlier)

I've seen a little bug: I moved between two places while being "attacked" by two "beats" at those places, and the game considered I was nowhere so I didnt die while I should have.

I see your level design is even cooler after what I've played, there's some really clever things about "making the player understand where he has to go if he doesnt want to die", really cool.
Also, I see there's some kind of humor on some patterns (the smiley, and that moment when everything on the screen is filled and the last block start to get a thing on it.. Well, 2:10 on the video if you don't understand what I talk about.) and what I like about that humor is that it is based only on the gameplay. I'm really interrested with those things and those were clever.


It would not be good for a first level if it was a real game, and I'd assume that's why it's hard. But omg this on a game jam!? You're insane guys.

The most fun game I played from this LD I think! :)
It feels really nice to play, nervous and fluid gameplay. The core gameplay feels finished, great for a jam game!

I think for most level there's a really nice lvl design, even if some could be a bit better (I think some are too difficult, too frustrating, with spikes sometimes for exemple), maybe it could be actually more simple lvl design, it would be fine. The room with lot of moving platform confused me a lot, there wasnt any enemy and I kept dying because of not having a lot of visibility(too many things on screen).
It's good that you added the thing with "the player moving backwards when you shoot". That's not really often seen in games and I love when there's something like this and when it's used in good way :)

The art is quite simple, but super cool. It feels good. Same for sound effects.

Gonna go with some real negative points:
Respawning on a screen the player already finished is bad. Really bad. Almost got me not finishing it. Specially because the player does not always spawn in front of the doors.
The point is, if I die, I want to retry super quickly (Super meat boy effect :D ), and If it makes me go in a room I've done already, I will want to quit that room super quickly, and not having to reach an enemy to kill myself (which is 50% of your gameplay at the end of the game.). It's not interesting for the player.

Hum, About the last level: YOU LIAR O_O
Seriously, you make the player expect things with that level, you put a crown above it. When I play I feel like "Omg the last lvl!! I have to unlock it! it's gonna be so awesome" and there's nothing. You're lying to your player. That is super nasty .-.


Also, I'm not sure you're really respecting the theme, cause it still feels like it's changing screen everytime you go through a door..


But anyway, I said lot of negative points here because I think that's what helps, you know what is good about your game. I loved this really, one of the best game of LD I played so far. And the funniest to play.

Replayed it and finished it.
As some other said, being in a cloud but physically touching the ground, pushing boxes and jump feels weird really.

I aint sure about your objective too. It's weird because there's no time limit, so no final score, and anyway do we care about the vehicules being in the middle?
But anyway I took it as it was a sandbox kind of game, I just played with the tool basically.
And it's fun I have to say.

I feel super weird about how you took the game.
I've seen this kind of game with a fix 2D screen a lot of time, but here you made it in 3D.
So.. The thing is, instead of taking a multi screen kind of game and make it one screen, you more or less did the opposite. (well it depends on what you call "one screen" but I don't feel like your game is on "one screen", it's on one scene, but it's not a fixed camera, like in for exemple. Maybe it should have been a fixed camera angle to be more coherent with the theme?)

Nice experimentation here. I like it.

Well actually I don't know, I had real problems because of being an azerty user I think. The ZXCV keys might not be the best ones.

But I managed to go to the day 5 and had fun!
Reminds a lot of Paper please, which is still good.
Music was supercool, I dunno if it's adapted to the theme of your game but it's super nice :)
graphics are nice, too.
I dunno about the shut up mechanic, doesnt seems meaningful enough to me, so I barely used it, prefer heal the soldier than losing time look at his health

Theme of the jam was respected but nothing more really I think.

Oh and, the message that says to put the cursor over the wound when the player doesnt understand is not appearing long enough, it took me time to success reading it (I'm not english so It takes me a couple of seconds to concentrate on the words)

It was fun anyway! Congratulation for doing this!

But it's so hard!
Played it for like 30 minutes, almost rage quitted lot of times, but I've just beaten the 4th round and died, I guess I won't success in going further than that.

Maybe it would be cool to allow 2 dashes instead of 1 + 1 at each enemy killed? Or at least something that's makes you not dying if you missed an enemy? It was very frustrating! But at the same time I really liked that!
Learning how to kill the differents ennemies is really cool, but it takes so much time because you start from the beggining everytime..
The audio is cool also! Goes well with your graphics.
It fits the ludum dare's theme fine, but nothing more.

Really relaxing to watch, and frustrating (but still fun!) to play at the same time. Ahah, don't know what to think!!

Too bad the programming of the "find the object thing" doesnt work really

The trick to fit the theme is a bit easy, too, I think.

I liked the mechanic of the "if you hold space you're moving faster and attacking" thing, you used it well with the rooms where there's a lot of boxes.

But I'm not sure about the die and retry stuff, well could be fun and there's some great ideas (like the room where there is 2 keys and if you found one and think "well I have one key I can run now", you're gonna die. this is great), but the game is really too slow for this. If we could just run and get the keys that would be fine, but we're always waiting for the screen to move..

Oh and talking of the screen...
Yes, you COULD say that there's just one screen and it's moving.. But.. for me it doesnt fit the theme well.
Because we can't always see the entire game on the screen..
But there's just one level, I agree on that :p

It's nice!
I couldn't defeat the boss because the game is a bit hard (but I liked that) and mostly because I didn't know really if I was hurting him, there's no visual feedback or health bar, so I didn't know and quit after dying several times against him.
Audio is simple but nice and fits the game.
Maybe it could be more in relation with the theme? The options are in the game, and the scrolling is coming back when the player die, so the screen doesnt change, but.. Well it's hard to be really in the theme with this one.^^

I liked the idea that everything that is used by the game is on-screen even if it's not used, it fits the theme quite well I think. (Although it could have been cool if the object were just moving to make the level, like disapearing from the right to go in the level. I think I'm not clear when I say that.. Well. )

Oh and just sayin: Shiftleft and ShiftRight is so much not intuitive, and the game doesnt say anything about it!! Be careful with that next time :)

Your mechanic and concept are fine, but you need to make them more meaningful.
On the third lvl you tried to put something that look like a labyrinth, but it doesnt work because the wrong ways are really obvious, since we can see the whole screen. The thing you could have done to make this more meaningful would be to put everything in the dark, and a light on the ball, in that way the player will not know what's next (and your game would still be on one screen.. You know, the theme.)

talking about the theme, I'm not sure I'm super good with how you took it. There's several scrrens on your game, so that's kinda bad.
Missed some audio effects/music. specially since it's a jam entry, you could have used something made by someone.

Oh and the game over art made me think of sunset overdrive logo! Ahah

Mechanics could have been more meaningful, you mostly don't have the time to see the bombs coming so it makes you die dumbly, for that reason I couldnt beat the game;

going with family doesnt seem useful (except for being safe but you have to pick up the boxes so..), maybe there could be a thing like, you need to bring the food to the family

But it's cool anyway, I kinda like the concept and the theme, it need to be inproved but enjoyed it. :)

is it normal that the ball bounce when it touches the border of the screen? Not intuitive and feel like it's wrong.

In the 2 first levels we can just shoot the guy, with, on the 2nd level the possibility of killing him with a bounce, so that's good
The third level, you have to make the ball bounce. Good.
I'm not sure about the fouth level, it's all about accurate but your shooting system is not accurate at all, so it feels like "I'm losing because of the game". If you wanna go that way, maybe you should add like,a dotted line to make the player see where the ball is gonna go.
I didnt like the last level. I think I would have prefer something complex with lot of bounces.


Maybe it would have been good that the player keep his position when he fails. In that way the player could be like "well, a little more on the left this time".

I like the animation when the guy dies too!

I find interesting the fact that you remade an ++old game.

It need to be superimproved, there's no winning message (except when you kill youself ._. probably a metaphore about life..); AI needs to be improved a lot because right now it's just super easy (in both the games)
What about the AI can't fall by itself (cause it's clever) and you have to push it with traps or stuff like that? Or if they touch you but are in front of a hole, you can push them?
Would be more meaningful gameplay I think.

I like the fact that it looks like a board game too.

That was not really inovative, basically just a sokoban clone. I guess/hope it made you learn lot of stuff though, so that's cool for you really, but playing a clone is never interesting so much!
Next game jam, try to add something from you! an unusual level design or game mechanic that we don't expect to see in a sokoban type of game!

Too bad, 'cause I like the idea of making a sokoban-like for this game jam, it goes well with the theme! (and I don't think I've seen any other?)

I love the concept, really really a lot. This is innovative. Great.

But yea. Lot of things that are breaking the fun by making the game so much harder than what it's supposed to be.

When the "character" does the "slide" (well, let say it like this: Down arrow.), it should keep doing it while the player didn't released the arrow. sometimes it makes it so hard and not understandable..

Sometime the blocs are not placed well And you're forced to die. .-.

Maybe there should be more than one thing to pick at the time? Would make this easier? (I don't know, but that's something to test)

Also, Maybe, since you was inspired by snake, it would have been cool to have that thing, like, when you touch the bottom of the screen, you apear on the top of screen, same for right and left. Like in pacman too.
Cause that's like, 60% of my deaths. and it's VERY frustrating.


I really think you should do a real version of this. I would play it.

If ever you create something better with that concept, could you like, send a message on twitter or something? I'm really interrested by something like this that would be really playable! :)

I think you did something wrong with the theme. Well, the Idea is cool, but the resizing of the image is completely looking bad, and it's not good for your game. Theme is supposed to help your game, not the opposite! Anyway, I still felt like the game was changing the screen everytime I go through a door.. Maybe you would have need a transition effect between two rooms?

Maybe rotating the scene could have visually rotated the tv screen too? Did you try and it wasn't loonking good maybe? Would have been a tiny bit more coherent eventually. But that's game jam, polishing is often not there!

This is great interpretation of the theme, one of the best I've seen so far!

Although it's a bit frustrating for some shitty reason I guess.
Maybe you should have give the player some health?
And also, right now killing the ennemies is an option, too bad. Locking the rooms while the player don't kill the ennemies would have been more interesting I think (harder but it would be fine with some health!)

appart from that, it's good lvl design I think, with a great idea that fits the theme so well!

Aaaaaaw, I feel like your game had so much potential and now it's just too hard for stupiiid reasooons D:
It's still fun though !

Here's my (useful, I hope ?) feedbacks, in random order:

First thing first, The background. Why is it so uniform ? It feels like you're not moving at all ! It took my a while to realize I was actually doing something with the arrow keys. At the beggining it's just your cube and this uniform background, there's no enemies. You can't really know if you're moving really.

The camera unzooming when you're moving: Great idea, works just fine ! (maybe it could unzoom a bit more? I dunno. :) )

Because of the enemies following you only if you're near of them, sometimes I was just like, looking for them, and it felt broken, like : "there's no enemies left, what the fuck ?!"

If the enemy is already looking at you before you gets near, it's almost impossible to avoid him. Feels unfair.

The "screenshaking effect" (I guess?) when you attack kinda feels weird, I was thinking it was slowing/stopping me to attack.

Visual feedbacks are great in general. Great work on those :)

Oh and also there a bug sometimes, and the game doesnt stop when you die. Frustrating 'cause it feels like you didn't die, but you did. But it's jam anyway.

Too bad there's no sounds // music. At least for audio feedbacks. It would add a lot to the feeling of your game :/

The difficulty curve feels super nice. It's super hard at the beggining (because of some stuff I may have said earlier), but I made my way to the 8th wave :)
It feels super good to learn the new paterns. Makes the player feel like he learned by himself and stuff.



Anyway this was fun to play really. By the way I wanna say that your stream seemed really cool. Couldn't be there the whole time but I think you are good at streaming dev' :)

The phrases that appears when you fails are good, there's lot of them and it makes failure not frustrating. You have a huge perspective problem I think. It took me long to notice that when I throw my ballon too far away, it's hitting the goal and going back to me. The camera is like, 90° rotated from the goal and it make the thing a bit unclear for the player ! =)

The idea is really good : It feels like a juggling game and i've never seen something like that, it's clever.

But there's a few design problem, especially with difficulty: it's actually really difficult to get to the part where it becomes interresting (the "juggling part"), I'm dying before it happens.

It fits the theme really good though. Maybe you should update it with an easier difficulty !!

Wow, this is incredibly fun. There's lots of clever things in term of Game Design. I loved the "blue circle" projectile. Sometimes (when you have to much amunition on you) it's a really bad thing that it's here, because you only shoot small projectiles as you get everything you throw back on you. And sometime it's super positive to see it because you can shoot big projectiles as you have no amunition and get back your big projectiles. Love this. This is genius and elegant. It doesnt add much to your mechanics but a lot of depth to the gameplay. Having the possibility not to take the bonuses right away is quite a good idea as well. (died that way, didnt want to take nor the life /superpower I had because i wanted to keep them for the boss. Died at 60 000 points.)

The only bad points are the lack of epic music and some ergonomics problems: some stuff are a bit unclear on the screen, such as the enemy spawn: it looks good but you don't really know where the player is, sometime you shoot an enemy but he's not spawned yet, he's on another z-axis and it's confusing.

But it's pretty impressive that you have a mostly clear and not confusing gameplay,considering what the gameplay is.

Great job, great game. Will play again and link to my friends.

'-' I'm not sure it fits the theme that well: for most levels, the more objects you have the better it is cause it's easier to climb that way. But some levels use this to fit the theme too (the more objects you have, the easier it is to make them fall and loose)

good effort with the music, too, it can gets annoying but i'm glad it's there. I wish there was some changes over the levels.

Also the number of levels is pretty impressive !

Fun fact : I made my first bitsy game during ludum dare, but for another game jam (happening in the same time as Ludum dare)

Your game is good, there's some clever uses of bitsy (the bus in side view for example.) although, be careful about putting invisible objects: it can be nice, but also, if the player is pressing the arrow key several times in a row to move faster, the dialogue might not be seen, especially since it's not a dialogue you can hear again.

Appart from that the game is pretty cool; the fact that the player can't do anything else than eating the things in front of him/her because of the level design is funny.

Woh! I just had a really singular experience with your game, I have to tell you !!! :) :)

as the number of cat keep getting bigger, I thought I should tap everykey on my keyboard, so I startedpushing my keys 3 by 3, from right to left and left to right. And it felt like petting a cat ! Haha !! And the sound of my fingers going on the keyboard actually sounded just like a cat Purring. Was amazing.

Well, I still had 53 Cat Angels at the end :( :(

It's really hard !! haha, or maybe there's something I'm not getting. Maybe (even though it gave me a beautiful experience with the purring sound thing), it would have been nice to avoid having the player pressing every keys, using other mechanics for example. Like maybe "if you press a key on your keyboard the number of cats spawning grows !", that could be more interresting in term of gameplay and less random, too =)

It's a really cute game anyway and the cat art is way too cute. I loved it !

I pretty much broke the game I think, most of the last levels, I just jumped 1 or 2 times and did the whole level that way, because of the velocity being the high. So actually, maybe it's "the more there is, the easier it is". The idea could be pretty good if you had more time to think about that kind of things, and do a bit more specific level design to fix those issues.

The animations are pretty good and the whole game (when you're not dying) feels pretty cool in hands

My best score was 1000 with a group of 14 ! It's pretty fun and I had a good time, I've already seen this kind of mechanic (here for example https://wimpykid456.itch.io/pepe-jump-land ) but never like this: usually you fail when all your group died, here you still have a single character and other people just make you less focused and unsure where you are. It can be a bit frustrating but actually i think it's a pretty good idea !

graphics do the job, it's not the reason why we play but they make the player understand the situation and are pretty ergonomics in term of game design: the player know what is an obstacle and what is not.

Just played, it's really a cool idea ! I love the fact that you can also avoid beers. The game doesn't just get more difficult as time goes, it gets difficult as you drink, and it gets harder not to drink when you're drunk. A bit like in real life I guess. It's hard to say no to a "final beer" when you already had some.

Loved it. It fits the theme wells and is really simple. I love the fact that you don't always start with the same character, (I'm wondering if it makes the game less ballanced but I didn't play enough to know that =3 ) it makes it less repetitive to try again, and i imediately started jumping again to make a better score.

The speed of the rope is a bit high, which makes it a bit confusing (+ it's small, kinda hard to see but really important in the gameplay) but that's okay, i don't think i would have ideas to make it better ! :)
