This is great
Could not open the mac app. Running Tiger 10.4.11
I liked the power ups. With cleaner graphics and a bit more speed this could be really great. worth continuing with. good work
The weirdest pinball game I think I have ever seen. For that you should be very proud!
I really like what you have done here. My favourite so far. Simple look hides the depth of the subtle gameplay. Really pleased to have played it.
Really liked playing this one
Looks great, plays great, is great.
Nice looking. I wanted to move faster. Light was great. Sound was good as well. Nice atmosphere
Had problems with the controls on the Original file on Kongregate. I have fixed it. There are power ups that make the gameplay easier as you go on. They are random so the gameplay changes quite dramatically for each time you play.
thanks pdyxs. I will try and get my head around this.
Got stuck on narrow path but would have played for longer. I count that as a good sign. I like the realisation of the sword.
Like it. Honestly
I like the text handling, the setting was good. Worth spending the time on it it would take to make it great I think.
I liked it enough to get to level 3
I really liked it and did not mind stepping on those spiders at all
I love the controls. I found you from your tweet and I thought I would check it out. Yes they are not what I was ready for. Yes I died quite quickly to start with. After a while I found the controls made for some "seat of my pants" game play. This is exactly what I like. Too many games do not challenge you to become skilled at using them. This one does and for that I beg you not to change the controls. I think your game is suffering from the fact that with so many entries it is difficult to invest time into any one game. I am keeping your file on my mac and plan to play it once this judging is all over. Please think about extending it I would be interested in beta testing. Please check out my equally difficult to control game "Anti Puck" good luck
Really liked this one. Simple but good. I like the vintage feel of the artwork and friendly sound. Good work.
Once I got my head around it it became a lot more enjoyable - I almost gave up. I would like more hot keys to equip and drop for example, having to use the mouse was a bit of a pain. Good innovation and well worth keeping on with.
Really solid effort. Everything works and feels solid in its execution. I am an asteroids hater, but this kept me playing way longer than most would. Pleasant experience all round. If you are still in the market for playing games I still need some ratings to get my 20. Run Guys could do with a little help! Thanks
With a bit more time this could be a solid multiplayer game. It was fluid and did exactly what it said on the tin. Taser!
What is not to like, it feels like a finished game ready to go.
Quality, stressful and sort of fun. Made me think of cat ladies in a new light. So much poo!
Not really much else to add to the other comments. Well handled, good looking easily playable and totally enjoyable. Top work.
A sweet and satisfying experience. Quality finish and left me wanting to know "what's next?" Great job
I feel like I could get lost in tweaking the variables in this. Such potential for depth. Interesting submission
It was very easy 2 get lots of cows and beat the game but I enjoyed the idea of it.
I enjoyed it enough to collect all the disks. I like how the disks added to the music and the collection was challenging enough. It could be extended in many ways and I think you should. Good work.
I love the look and sound of it. Very good and better than most. The game felt a bit haphazard and in the end I left it after glitching through a block and the soon after to glitch through the floor and remain trapped. Still work to be done, but worthwhile work non the less.
@king-kujito it was a little laggy and the web version. My macbook pro is a bit old and tired too...
@king-kujito FireFox 48.0.2 on OSX 10.7.5 so not much of a worry for you to fix. I am a bit stuck, my Mac wont die and also I use a piece of discontinued software for my work which I am yet to find an adequate replacement. LD40 has actually been the first heavy challenge to my acceptance of being out of date and I have been looking at new machines!
Pretty easy to review - EPIC. Solid take on an established model but with a cool twist. Nothing over done everything slick, great work.
Stylish, frustrating and slick. Good job. By keeping it simple it has ended up feeling well polished.
Best looking game I have played in LD40 so far. Nice music good humour. Nice job.
I like the look of it and the concept, but getting totally stuck and not being able to break free got a bit tiring. Worth developing
It was all a little slow for me, an interesting take on the theme that could totally benefit from development. Worth taking further I think.
So much quality work on show here, great job, challenging and satisfying. Reminded me a bit of playing Brothers: A tale of two sons, on the 360. I wish I had a controller to really get into the flow of it. Great job.
Pure class. A finished game no less. Nothing further to add
This is beautiful and left me wanting it to be more in so many ways. I hope to see this when it is fully developed.
Satisfyingly Dispelling stressful tension Beautifully
Wow not what I was ready for. The tension was epic. I was pleased to keep 6 alive but my wife was losing it in the background. Really captured the new born cry craziness. Great job.
Beautiful sights and sounds, slow and edgy! So much work I hope it gets developed further.
Simple fun game, polished and well delivered.
This game felt slick and well loved. The sound and graphics felt particularly refined. I enjoyed my 12 days in charge of the aquarium. Everything is now dead so in that respect pretty true to my real life attempts. If you fancy running your friends into trees then my game is just for you. Also I still need some ratings. I would love to get over the 20 mark. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/run-guys
Nice take on the theme, once I got over my confusion it had a nice build up of intensity - which seems to be the subtext of LD40. LD40 is STRESS!!!
Nice clean graphics, simple concept well made. The music is good, it ramps up the intensity nicely when the bullets start to fly!
I ended up playing for longer than I expected. A good sign that the gameplay was on point. Lots that needs refining but the potential is there. I ended up getting bored and that is what stopped me in the end. I needed a big boss or something.
Slick, nice graphics and controls work nicely once you get the gist. Not sure how to score points but I enjoyed the ramping up if critters and the mood of the lighting. Good job.
Huge effort, I liked the layers of building up a connection and then having to suddenly start avoiding the characters. Music was great, a lot of detail. Good job. Feel free to check out my game if you like running your friends into trees. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/run-guys
I enjoyed the game great graphics but I did not manage to save any cats :(
I get it run around and pick fights / pick up fish. That works well. But why? Lots of work put in here. If you like cooking cats and fish then this is the game for you.
Well done for getting all that done in the time. I got bored and stop playing. Never found this format particularly gripping. It's not you, it's me. LOL
At first glance I judged this badly. I was happy to be proven wrong. The gameplay was slick, the challenge was enjoyable and it kept me playing. It was a reminder of some of the games I played and loved as a kid. I enjoyed the music and the growing sense of tension. Good work.
@wheffle I think my initial response was the old school basic graphics, it is easy sometimes to lazily equate them to poor quality. It quickly became apparent that your use was celebratory and the game was quality, once I was enjoying the experience I could appreciate all the elements in a new light. Prejudice is something we have to overcome in all walks of life and I guess it is easier to overcome if you can back yourself up. I was happy to put my prejudices aside on this one.
Nice idea, Total blackness might be a bit overkill. I found it a bit dull after a while blindly wondering about. F12 does something else on my system so I would suggest a different key. Has legs though, be interesting to play with this concept and refine it. I enjoyed it.
I agree with the above. I started off curious and liked the feel of it and then I spent 5 minutes trying to turn a ball to the right angle. Solid concept and once it has a touch more satisfaction about solving the problem then it has legs. I knew the solution for a looooooong time before I solved the problem, what should have been fun quickly became annoyance.
good design on aeroplane but controls are hard. shame it was not finished
Defo worth moving forward with, I liked the idea more than I actually enjoyed playing it. It has legs.
Art style is crisp and well finished. I am so over tower defence games that I found it difficult to get on board with the game. Sorry others have ruined it for me. Lots of work, well done.
I think it is well worth finding the time to finish off. I like the race for loot mechanic.
Lots I really love about this game. The graphics are on point, it is nice to have a new idea that is simply played out. The artwork is nice to. I especially like the camera movement. It would be nice to see where it gets taken to next. If you fancy playing my game I shall casually leave the link here. Oh what's this (points) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/run-guys
Nice and simple, love the mood and look of it. Clean slick enjoyable.
I found it hard to care about saving the goo in the end. The controls slightly frustrated me, and by the time the timer ended I was relieved. That said I think there is potential to continue with it, It just lacks intensity. It seems like LD40 is all about growing intensity, whether that's a good thing I don't quite know. Maybe less time would be better.
I could see this being great fun with a few tweaks. Looks and feels quality.
@rohezal I have added a link to a windows export. I have no way of testing it, so if it works for you I would love to know.
@drtizzle can I ask which browser you used to make it work? I would like to invite you to contribute your own death message for run guys post ld40.
@fluffi @dekart @rohezal so it seems like Internet explorer or safari might still run the old unity webplayer, if you can be bothered. I would be very grateful if you went to the extra effort.
@drtizzle thanks for that. My mac is old and I have the most up to date unity that this os uses. This is the first time I have published anything from unity since ld21! I had not realised how out of date it was. Time to update for sure but this is the best I can do. For now.
@roaring-cat-games thanks for the feedback, already made lots of improvements post ld40. I am enjoying working on it. As a total hobbiest it is the first game I have properly shared (apart from ld21 and it didn't really function) so it has been great to get such positive feedback. I really loved making trees with your entry.
@saramartins thanks. Music is a must for sure. I was thinking of making it loop based where each friend has their own loop which would make a unique track with each grouping. I am 80% sure I know how to make that happen. What genre would you want? If you name an artist or track, I will use it as my inspiration
@rohezal thanks for coming back and giving it a go. I am working on Run Guys still and trying to strip out unnecessary processes to make it run smoother. It gets busy quick! It is much improved already.
@wheffle My little secret is that I am a total n00b all round. I have been playing with Unity as a hobby and never been able to spend the right amount of time to finish anything. The only other game I have got remotely finished and out into the world was for LD21. I love the problem solving, hate the finishing. I was drawn to this Jam because I work well with deadlines. I was very pleased to get this done at all. In terms of the 3d modelling I did none, all the artwork is made of cubes and spheres straight out of unity - not my original plan, but actually a constraint I learned to love. 3d modelling is on my list, but it will have to wait!
@starlin friends come and go, but death is eternal.
@saramartins Challenge accepted.
@indie-gaming thanks for playing. It is easier when you jump (and you can really make you friends go everywhere!) I really appreciate your review
@indie-gaming not just jump, but a double jump no less! In game instructions are on the same list as the music.
Got an arrow on the go now. @toboggan
I have come to the sad realisation that I have played and rated my last LD40 games. I am away with work and then Christmas fun and wont be sat in front of my computer before the deadline comes. Thanks so much for rating and commenting on Run Guys. I feel inspired to pursue this hobby and take it further. Peace and good tidings to y'all. Arron
I like the idea, it is pulled of pretty well and with more time could be quite solid. There was some genuine slow motion tension as I ran/walked to the van. Solid job.
Lo fi pirate fun. Really enjoyed it!
I loved the sounds and graphics of this game. It has class. I found the control system a bit frustrating and would have played for longer if this is made more fluid. I am sure with time I would have found a way, but I lost interest before I cracked it. I applaud your ambition though and the level of detail that was put into it. Want to rate another sort of first timer? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/run-guys
I proper love this game. Simple clean graphics, super slick controls and action. Top minimalism marks. I think possibly my fav LD40 so far in terms of experience. Cracking job
Its very hard but fun plus good graphics and a twist on the classic platformer
I loved the artwork, especially the walking. It made me laugh in a good way. Some of today's games are so good they are bland. We need more funny walks!
Interesting take on resource management game. I would like to see what a bit extra would do for it as it feels flat at the moment. Has potential though.
The movement is great, fluid and slinky. I cant wait to see what you did with the extra time
Slick well executed and stressful! Well done
Nice attention to detail, the sound was particularly good (Arh) and as far as pacman goes some nice little twists. I cant say I would play it often but this little voyage I did enjoy. Want to run your friends into trees and such? Try this (Please rate it!) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/run-guys
What is not to like?
I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Sometimes simple is best! Well done.
Solid little game. Loads of room for development and adventure. I liked it a lot.
God like powers kind of lacks fun in the end. I enjoyed the build up but the destination was not very engaging. I wonder where you could take it? The power was exciting for a moment.
Love it, the extra time for the Jam entry was well worth it.
Solid entry. It exudes class. Well done
I thought I was going to hate it. But I was pleasently suprised. Nice little twists and subtle challenges. Great work.
I thought this was a really good entry. Although I did not master it, it made me smile and I thought the look of it was spot on. Wall jump well implimented. Good job
This felt impressivly complete. Lots going on, all working as you would expect. Good work.
A really solid game. The amount of work is really impressive. Well done
I liked the feel and pace of this game. It was simple and opperated in a satisfying way. Good shift! Thanks again for your help on LD40 with Run Guys. It came for me at a time when the world was feeling like it was full of unkind people. You did me a solid and un asked for favour just when I need one most. Peace
Super good entry. I can see it being developed into something really successful. Beautiful, challenging and satisfying. Not much more to say.
I loved it. The look and feel was spot on. I would like some wall jumps and speed / commitment variables in there. The faster you run the longer your jump type thing. Any platformer lives or dies by the comparison to N+ for me. It is so perfect that anything less is always less for me. If you have not played N+ I recomend it in terms of how some of its core could aid in making this mechanic super awesome. Great job.
I enjoyed this game. It ran a bit clunky and that was a shame but I would enjoy playing a slick and faster paced version of this game. Defo worth continuing with.
I thought this was an interesting entry. I was compelled to get further each play and it certainly kept me gripped. The jump sound mad an unpleasent tweet each time it was used that ultimately stopped me playing. It became unbareable. Apart from that I thought it was great.
Solid but a bit dull. I have long gotten over Tetris as a challenge so all that was left to do was grind out the score. I got a little bored. But I did think : maybe my daughter would like this. She is 7 and a sucker for animals and a lover of a good pun!
Nice game. It started running a little slow once the action hotted up. I thought it was all implimented well and I enjoyed it. Well done
A really nice game. I love the art direction. The only draw back was it reminded me of N+ and so I could not help compare the physics unfavorably. If it played like N+ on this mechanic I would give it straight 5s. Good job.
The music is ace and it made me smile. I found the gameplay a bit confusing and would have appreciated a menu button so I could have gone back to check the instructions. I refreshed twice to double check the rules. over all great job.
Great entry. I really enjoyed it. It's clean and simple and fun. Totally worth putting a little extra time into it. It is full of potential. Well done indeed.
I liked the way it moved once I got the hang of it. Nice that it was all on the curve rather than hard turns. The bad mushrooms gave a good incentive to pick up mushrooms in a timely. Well done. Feel free to try mine out. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/clapbang
Pretty solid entry. I liked the challenge of it. It started to play a bit slow as the levels proceeded but that is probably more to do with my machine which is well thrashed at the moment. I had a lot of fun playing it. Good work.
I loved it. Clean, minimal and fun. Plenty of scope for development. Happy with my score too. Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 17.06.33.png
I also went for no language - to my detriment, as most people are a bit confused. If you want to try and work it out then I would appreciate your feedback.
I loved this. It is classy and humane. So simple yet deep and moving. Not much else to say really. Quality
I liked it. It is based on something real and is a good tool for undertanding the issue in a fun and simple way. Great work.
Once I got my head round it I found if interesting. It ran a little slow on my system (But it is quite old so might be more me than you) I think it is something that could grow into a really good game. Maybe if it was smaller but plays quicker you could nerf some of the slow down issues. Sometimes less is more!
Lots that is good here. I was left a little bored as it went on. Up the action and make moving more fun and I would be all over it.
Overall a good job. I especially liked the camera shake. At times I felt a bit disconnected from the controls. Often going the wrong way. I enjoyed the different enemies but found it easy to spam the firing. Maybe a delay between fire to up the skill level. Good job mind you.
@cheetah I agree multiplayer is where it has to go. It is pretty simple in terms of data so I will look at making it that way. Also It was designed to have 4 Mechs at the same time but time got the better of me. It was a case of finish or not. I am still working on it and will post a finished(ish) version when I can.
@historymaker118 thanks for playing it and the feedback. I have reedited the info on this page to explain it better. I could not really think straight when I submitted it. It was a case of overcome mind melt for this hobbiest. Good luck with the dare.
@lomikstik I totally agree. It is already much better having picked a few more jobs off of the list. The AI is much smarter for example. I will have a post jam version up in the coming days as I think it will be worth it. Thanks for playing
@kack3y thanks for playing. Health bar was the first thing I implimented post jam. Time got the better of me as I had to write a lot of code on this one. A lot for this hobbiest at any rate.
@my-sweet-whomp thanks for the comment. I had thought that the red Mech on the menu would be enough for people to know which one they were. It seems that it was too subtle and is being addressed. I also thought the controls were the easy bit and did not really put any effort into comunicating about it. All you can do is click on the floor and buildings or the weapons, other than that there is no controls to master. It has confused most regardless. But then I do enjoy being an awkward bastard so in that way I am satisfied. LOL
@tomg thanks for playing. I have continued to impliment my wish list as I ran out of time and grey matter. It is a much more satisfying play now that you can see how much life is had by each.
@sharks cheers for the comment. I am working on a post jam version which is considerably better. Life bars etc.
@superqgs thanks for sticking with it. I will impliment a proper tutorial at some point
@aayush Thanks for the feedback. Plans are afoot and it will happen. I am collaborating with a friend and are fully excited by the post jam potential. The weapons system we have in mind is going to be epic if we pull it off correctly. Exciting times.
@vfabien21 Cheers man. I am pleased you stuck with it. If I could turn back time I would have put some time aside for a tutorial. It would not take much to explain. I was a bit blind sided as the one thing I thought was straight forward that was the controls. You can literally only do 3 things and they all involve clicking and waiting. I have put things like health bar and ammo turns in and it does help to see that things are changing. Once the penny drops it becomes pure strategy, but I have learned a lot about people, through watching it be played a few times. If you click lots it creates the illusion that you are in control but that it is lagging or unresponsive, also that the weapons don't work properly. The turn based nature of it is hidden under a flurry of clicks that seem to imply that it is the way to go. It has been interesting.
@tigerj hello. Thanks for playing ClapBang. I kinda want you to play it again as you did not get it. My bad brother. It was really interesting to see how it could be attempted. I had got used to how it operates and so I never really thought about how people might try to use it. I get that you are busy, your twitch is really impressive. I enjoyed watching it whilst trying to track down ClapBang. Anyway if you felt like giving it 5 minutes and a go knowing how the turns work I would love your feedback on the mechanic. I could totally see that it seemed impossible. The Yellow dude is far too easy to beat once you don't accidentally take your turns. So my explanation of why it is turn based and novel is this: Your turns are based on you alone, the opponents turns have nothing to do with you. It is like playing chess but being able to take your moves as soon as you have finished the last. The further your Mech moves the longer your turn takes. In motion you can do nothing to change the game. When you arrive at the clicked on square the Mech fires any ready weapons directly at the opponent. When you played you kept on clicking and the turns sort of became invisible. For example when you are fired at, if you have not taken your turn the opponents weapons are easy to dodge. I understand if you don't want to spend your time going back to this. But I do now value your opinion based on the stellar job done on playing the long list of games on twitch. Peace and thanks
@nam-nguyen Thanks for your feedback. It was always my intention for this game to be 3 CPU vs 1 human. It is diminished as a result in terms of difficulty. I have been improving the AI of the Mech and it is now more of a challenge. I guess power up might not be the right word. The weapons are going to be card based going forward with lots of variables. Hopefully each round will have a touch of something unique weapon wise. I will put the post Jam version up once a get it to the stage I imagined for it. I will link you up and would love your feedback and feature requests.
@suve Cheers. Plans are afoot. It will be made and hopefully multiplayer. I think humans as opponents will make it very much more satisfying and tactical. Wish us luck.
@tigerj you are totally awesome dude. I so appreciate it. Your feedback is all spot on too. I have implemented most of it already on the post jam build. I did not have a playable version with an hour to go so lots did not make it into the submission. As a hobbiest LD is a real challenge. Although I was pretty pleased to only have to use google once this jam. That is big progress for me. Thanks again.
@drtizzle thanks dude. I do really value the LD community. It feels good to be a part of it.
@drums yes once you commit to moving you are commited. It is what makes you vulnerable. Small moves allow your weapons to cycle through their turns more quickly but make you more likely to be hit. I was hoping that it would be more tense but unfortunately I ran out of time to work on the AI. It is already much better and once I complete this last batch of ratings I will be focused on the post jam version which already has much more completeness about it. Ludum Dare is a rush to let go of what is less important, but important none the less! Saying that with more time I would just keep adding more difficult things to impliment. Thanks for playing.
@outlife thanks a bunch. I am working out a knock back on the weapons as we speak. It would be satisfying to bash them out of the area. As a solo effort I am particularly pleased you used guys as it did feel like I was doing a multi person shift as the deadline got closer! Lol
@syrapt0r thanks for streaming ClapBang. I have implimented a count down in the post jam version I am working on and it is so much improved. Many thanks for great feedback. I loved your game too.
@rytannic thanks for the feedback. AI post jam is already considerably more challenging. I am collaborating with a friend who is an amazing artist to move this forward. LD was always a coding exercise for me. Once he gets his hands on it, it will look stunning. Watch this space as we are moving forward on it.
@lekkel124 thanks for your comment. Yes I do want to improve. I had a bit of a strange LD41 which I was focused on not repeating. I did not finish last time and the potential of my last game never got realised. This time I learned lots of my lessons but still ran out of time. Not having a full 3 days hurt for sure. Anyway I feel ClapBang has got something special about it and the post jam version has not ruined it. It is not far away so watch this space!
Thanks for taking the time to write feedback for ClapBang. I have released a post jam version which is much improved from your comments. Still lots I would have liked to get done but I am now on holiday so I had to stop. I would love any feedback on this update you might have. Thanks in advance. Apart from a little more clarity on the combat I have no complaints. It MUST be developed as the potential is endless. Do it!
Solid entry. The start speed was too slow for me. It felt like I was waiting for the game to get interesting each time I started. I loved the music. Synthtastic baby!
I love how this looks. I found the playing of it mostly frustraiting. I wanted it to feel much easier. Altough I played it with a smile on my face.
I loved the style of this game. It took a simple mechanic and elevated it with a touch of class. Solid entry. I was happy with this score on my first try. Screen Shot 2018-08-16 at 12.13.54.png
I enjoyed it far more than I expected. The design was nice and minimal and the humor subtle and satisfying. Great work
Solid entry. I liked the music a lot. Not much to add to the above comments. Well done.
Good entry. I enjoyed playing it. Really missed some sound to create atmosphere.
What more is there to say other than: Budum budm buduum buduum!
Simple, good difficulty progression and it kept me playing for longer than I had to give. Great entry
I loved it. I could see this being a great mobile game with some work. Plenty of potential.
I was left feeling that it was too short. That is no bad thing. It totally has legs for being further developed. Well done. Feel free to try mine out. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/clapbang
A good challenge and plenty of variety. I like the way the arena shrinks. It is simpilar in many ways to my entry. Play it if you like. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/clapbang
A simple game on the surface that quickly becomes more challenging. It is well put together and held my attention for a while. Good job
I thought this was excellent. My favorite of the Jam so far and my highest score. Excellent work. Not really got anything to add. You asked about difficulty and I think it is spot on. It layers up nicely and tricks you into thinking it will be much simpler than it is. Top work.
It is a good challenge. I died many times before I got any progress on. I would have liked to hold fire rather than spam. Good job
Good entry. The theme was nailed. The changes you suggested are all worth doing. I would like the crabs to spawn in random places. I worked out how to handle them pretty quickly and then the challenge was gone. It is solid and everything works well. Well done. Screen Shot 2018-08-16 at 08.14.11.png
I really enjoyed this. Simple and challenging. I played for much longer than I expected and was left wanting more.
It took me a while to get it but once I did I was quite happy tracking down those bunnies! I felt the movemtent was a bit clunky at times and would benefit from more work. It looked great and the sounds worked well. A bit of music would defo lift the mood. Good entry.
Really slick entry. I liked the art style and the physics felt really good, I felt like every moment counted and that it did what I was asking it too. Very smooth game feel. If only my fingers were quicker! Nice to combine double jump and dash. Plenty to go on and take further. I liked the loading screens - bokeh like! Yes you should take your glasses off more often. Thanks for such a positive review on twitch, it has made all the hard graft worth while. See you at the next one.
I really enjoyed this entry. Solid take on the theme. It looks good, it plays well and the tension is real. I managed to save a single sheep and that was good enough for me. Well done again.
Really solid entry. I enjoyed the differnet sacrifices and their implications. Great work. I think opting to lose control was a big error lol
Really good take on the theme. So much work done here and it is really comendable. I found the combat a bit sluggish many presses missed action and would be much improved if the responsivness was fixed. Solid entry.
I like the art style and concept. The theme is bang on. I was frustrated by the physics, it was very varied and not in a fun way. I particularly liked the artwork when the eyes were sacrificed, it was really nice.
Theme well used. It all works well and feels good to play. It feels complete for its scale. It gets a bit samey but solid entry.
Good solid entry. All these lost limbs in this jam. All well thought out and put together. I liked the lighting effect esspecially. Great work
I really enjoyed this game and I thought the level design was really very good. They responded to the changing skills really well. Good work
My camera is constantly spinning and I cant work out how to stop it. Web version. Is there anything I can press to stop it? I tried for as long as I could but I actually got dizzy in real life. I would love to give it a propper go and a rating.
I will try again this evening but it was a constant effect no matter where I moved to. I had a second keyboard plugged in but that was all.
I will try again. My computer is updating atm but I will try again ASAP.
OK it is still spinning. I filmed a little clip with my phone. Nothing plugged in this time. https://youtu.be/Ci-udkldsHA I hope this helps.
Simple game well executed. It all worked slickly and it was responsive. Good work
Very calm and pleasant experience. It was a well thought out and considered game which I very much enjoyed playing through. Not really anything else to add.
I really like the vision of this game. I know the pain of not getting your game finished (See my entry!) and we are lucky to be able to put out postjam versions for those that are interested. Definitly a game worth continuing to work on. SO much potential. Good work
like people have already mentioned it was a little hard to know what to do regardning the alter. Once I got that I was fully into the run and retrieve mode of things. It all works well enough, but I did find myself getting a bit bored of it. Maybe some hazards to spice thngs up a bit. Otherwise solid effort.
i really liked the theme of it you nailed that. i think that you should of added a health bar so you know if you have won.good job
this game was really original and fun to play i really enjoyed it
I really enjoyed this game. With refinement I could see this being really epic. Defo something to continue with. Great job
So basically I am unfit to drive. The carnage! Really good and original take on the theme. I loved it. I comes from a Good Place!
Simple but in a good way. I like the art style and everything worked well together. TANKS! What is not to like?
I enjoyed this distraction. Nice to do something different. I thought the writting was pretty good and the options came thick and fast. Good work well excecuted.
What is to add really? Nice genuinly, nice in every way.
i really enjoyed playing it and i quite liked the graphics to it and the audio.it was a very good game
@vlad-dae Thanks for your comment. I have got it finished if you want to have a go again. Post jam has 1 player mode and instructions! I would love to hear what you think.
@ty-victorson thanks for your feedback.
@drtizzle I have finally got my game up and working properly. I would love to hear your take on it. 4 LD Jams in a row, I did not expect to keep it up! I loved your game
@xarona thanks. It was supposed to be a nice bonus, not the only options. I have had some pretty epic 2p games with my son so that is all good. Did you try the 1p mode on the post jam version?
@dob I seem to have a knack of making really simple games that are totally unintuative to play. Once the penny drops it is really straight forward, but until that moment it is all confusion. I had to talk a friend through it on the phone last night as he just was not able to grasp what was happening. I am a bit rubbish at making tutorials, that combined with my facination with not having text on screen seems to be a bit of a killer. I shall use the next LD to tackle that part of my offer. There is a life bar in the bottom conner which is a big white bokeh which shrinks and grows depending on your HP. Again subtle but once you know, you know. Did you try the 1p mode on the post Jam? Much has been remedied - but not so much the intuition required. I guess I am stuborn LOL. Thanks for playing.
@hannaesthetic thanks so much for your feedback. I get what you mean, maybe I should make a passive mode just for the fun of the music. I am really pleased to hear you liked it.
@drfallos thanks. It was one of the hardest things I have ever tried to draw (if draw is the right word) I am pleased you like it.
@gamepopper I like the rainbow too, all thanks to a moment of sunlight casting a rainbow through one of my good ladies crystals. Just at the right moment in my planing session. Sometimes the universe provides
@simonjamjam thanks for the feedback. I completely agree. I think I will give it some proper consideration once the dust has settled.
@wowbagger I will put in some alternative keys to use. You are the second person to mention sticky keys.
@yyz thanks so much for this feedback. I really appreciate the time you have put into it. I have put up a post jam version which has 1 player now. More importantly all the weapons are made (72 options) and each set has its own sounds to play. I am so much happier with it now as my jam entry was a bit disappointing compared to my vision. I knew I was in trouble on day 2 and then it was a race to the end to even get anything done that was working.
@derek-volker Thanks for giving it a go. I know it needs more of a tutorial - something I really need to work on. I only just got something that worked by the skin of my teeth, it was touch and go as the deadline approached. There is a 1 player mode in the post jame version if you want to have a go but obviously you cant rate that one. I would love feedback on that one though. I felt really bad about only having a 2 player entry but it was what it was - time runs out too quickly for my skills and ambition! I loved your entry.
@alysson-moraes I expect it shows my age lol. Thanks for playing
@justcamh Thanks for the feedback. I would love to hear your thoughts on the post jam version. The 2 player was always meant as a bonus, it was a last minute decision to do it as I knew I could pull it off quicker than 1 player. I did not have a functioning game with 30 minutes to go to deadline so it was all a bit of a rush. So I know that that list seems complicated, I get that it has lots going on but all of that works from pressing 1 button. It takes no effort just timing. I seem condemmed to make games that are simple to play, yet hard to grasp. All there is in this game is move and fire - the rest just sort of happens. One day I will work out how to communicate it in an easy way. So far when I have watched people playing it in the flesh or on streams it is a case of once the penny drops you understand the game and crack on. Getting the penny to drop easily is my challenge to overcome. I made a dear friend of mine actually angry wihilst attempting to play it. I am working on updating the menu as we speak and I agree. I would love to hear your feedback having had a 1 player go so you can see how little of the stuff in your list actually gets in the way. I am learning lots of lessons from the Jam as ever. I loved yours btw great concept.
@digitaldude555 you are not the only one my friend. One of my best friends and I will be doing the next LD jam together, he knows his stuff. He was totally baffled and I had to talk him through on the phone. I will attempt it again for you but I dont rate my chances. Think guitar hero - the weapons are fired to the beat. once you press fire you have to be on beat to select a weapon successfully. Timing is everything. The longer you wait to fire the more powerfull the weapon. By linking the weapons to timing bokeh has 72 different weapons all fired from the same button. If you miss time your fire then it wipes out your stance (colour) and you have to start again. Does that help at all? I am now very comfortable with c#now and that was my main goal from Ludum so in one way I am winning.
@digitaldude555 ok so other than that it is a straightforward fight to the death. Kill or be killed.
@pompi-pompi not in my jam entry. Long story short I had technical issues that ate up too much time and it was this or nothing at all. I have posted a post jam version with a vs cpu mode if you want to have a go. I no longer need ratings so try that one out. I would love feedback on it.
@pompi-pompi yes you are the one on the right. You can only move when you turn on your coloured stance. If you get hit or miss time your fire this gets wiped off and you have to turn it back on again. I added this feature to raise tension as both you and the AI automatically aim at each other. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for persevering.
@benjouille SFX is on my list of improvements. I think a few little tweeks to make it more reassuring will go a long way. Thanks for the feedback.
@owl-and-jackalope I had no idea what a Bokeh was called before Ludlum. It took ages to find it and I typed all sorts into Google before getting anywhere. That's what I love about the senses and our perception, they are experiences that are very hard to put into words. I have enjoyed reconnecting with my Bokeh and attempting to draw it was wild. Such an abstract thing. I am particularly enjoying looking at Christmas lights without my glasses on. A solid recommendation. Loved your game.
@hi-im-greg thanks for playing. It broke my heart to publish it with only Multiplayer. It did push me to get a post jam version up. If you wanted to get the full experience then it is on the page for your pleasure. I am much happier with it. 72 distinct weapons to hit.
@acaral thanks for the comparison to Tetsuya Mizuguchi. High praise indeed. I particularly love Rez and Child of Eden, both have left a mark on my vision for what makes a cool game. I feel very satisfied that that association has been made to something I have made. Made my ludum for me thanks
@firesplash-entertainment thanks so much for playing. It was very useful to watch you play. Sorry for your frustration, I think I assumed it was much easier to get than it is. It is a problem that comes from making it, you play it as you made it, not as someone who is working it out. I will get a better tutorial working on it ASAP. Thanks again it was super helpful.
@wfmg firstly thanks for playing. You are certainly not alone in finding it confusing. I am working on a better tutorial but it is something that is proving technically difficult. I need to write a load of new code.
It works just like a drum machine or sequencer you press fire to start it off and then the GUI displays on the side. A white Bokeh starts to move and this represents time passing, it passes by 6 coloured Bokeh each of which represents an available weapon. If you press fire again at the right time to select a weapon it fires and the time (white) Bokeh starts again at the begining. If you dont fire before 4 beats pass it counts as a missfire, if you press fire off beat it counts as a missfire and everything turns off and you cant move until you start it off again by pressing fire.
I realise that I am quite comfortable with playing with sequencers. Having watched a few people play it now it is a case of it "clicking". Once you get it there is not much to get - until that point total confusion. A successful selection keeps you looping through the weapons. I wanted to do a one button game that accessed multiple options through code breaking. In the post jam version I have got 72 different weapon options all working off of a single button press. It seems I have a knack for making simple things that are really hard to understand - but once you get it, it is really simple. Also the longer you wait the more powerful the weapon you fire - just dont wait for longer than 4 seconds!
If you have time to play the post jam and manage to get it from this additional explanation I would love to hear if it has clicked for you. I am trying to perfect my explaination. It is actually fun once the confusion ends.
@fmdkdd thanks for the review. I had not thought about co-op mode interesting idea. I shall have a play with the idea. The post jam version has a 1 player mode on it and a full rosta of weapons to play with. 72 in total.
I've updated the post jam. Added some feedback and better movement. Still no tutorial, but I am working on it.
Thanks @keppu the post jam has a single player mode if you are curious, it is much improved.
@sorlok if you fancy a solo game the post jam has a one player mode. Thanks for playing
@outlife thanks for playing. The sacrifice is that every time you fire you sacrifice some of your hp. It hurts to fire.
It totally boggled my brain - in a good way. So much potential to realise in this game and I hope you do take it forward. Great work.
I had a very pleasant time drifting about. It looks great, it sounds great and it felt nice. Other than that I did lack a bit of meanining, I never got a sense of winning or losing and there was a lack of gameplay tension. All things to play with because it could be a really great game.
So much work in this game to appreciate. I really liked the art style and sound. I found it a little frustraiting to play but with a bit more work it could b a very good game. Well done
Simple, funny and tense. Whats not to like?
I really enjoyed this entry. Peaceful and frustraiting in equal measure. The look and feel of it spot on and soooo much potential to build on if you take it further. Great work
Nice to have an android option, which is what I have rated. I am going to keep it on my phone even though I am running out of memory. That is my review, high praise indeed! Great work.
Pretty solid game. It took a few moments to get into the flow of it but it had tension and it worked well. I could see with a bit of polish it could be very enjoyable. Good work.
A really slick entry. Everything well considered and executed. Solid game. Kudos on your splash, something I definitly need to work on!
@firesplash-entertainment If I did I probably put it down to my mall co-ordination
Excelent entry. Nicely thought out and the art and sound is great. I really enjoyed it.
Took me straight back to Golden Axe days with my little bro. Epic music and graphics. Really solid entry. Kudos
Serious kudos on the asset creation. Good work
I enjoyed this game. I played it for longer than I had given myself for each game so that tells you something. I found the jump controls a little frustraiting but that could be fixed with a little work. I liked the art style a lot too. Solid work.
Loved the twist, genuinly made me chortle. Beam me up! Really great entry, simple but enjoyable!
I never really felt I got this game, although I did get to the end. It worked well enough but sort of lacked any tension. I liked the look of it.
I actually really like the art style, I was ready to hate this game and I was totally turned round. It was hard to know what was going on but it was interesting and I played it for longer than I was expecting. Good replay value. Good job
Whilst being very simple, it does work well and has good replay value.
Really love the art style and would have been happy to play for longer. Totally solid entry. Much fun
I found it a generally frustraiting experience. I can see it has potential with a bit of refinement. Once I got the concept I had a much better time.
For all of its simplicity I really enjoyed it. I love a good board game and this would be a good game to make in a physical way. I could imagine playing this on a chess board for real. Good work
@lilou-cormic or maybe a little cup that you could put tiny little gems in. It would be nice to pour one into another and get a sence of them building up.
I really enjoyed this game. My first to play and rate. I have been busy fixing mine with a post jam version. Finally done. I would have carried on playing this, I hope you take it further. It was fun.
Lots of work in this game, I really enjoyed it. Lots to tweek and change the experience. I really liked the art style. Pretty solid entry.
This was funny. Poor little workers. For what it is I enjoyed it and it was a good challenge
Hello. I found this game a bit frustrating,i never felt totally in control of what was happening. Maybe some more visual components to show when you are doing things right or wrong. I sort of felt like I was flailing about until I gave up. I like how it looked and it would be nice to see it with a bit more of development.
Nice concept and it looks great. I found it a bit frustrating in the later waves. The action just got a bit chaotic. I really enjoyed it.
Loved it. Simple and challenging and genuinly fun. The polish was all here too. Very well done.
I enjoyed this far more than I tought I would at first. It is a good mechanic and the different enimies were well designed. It would have really benefited from audio. Great job.
Really good take on the theme and certainly lots to think about. I think a bit more time to start with would help with the learning curve. Also I found it hard to orientate myself. I could see this being a good multiplayer game. Throw stuff onto each others area could be fun. Great work.
My favorite game so far. I wish it was massive and went on for hours I would play it endlessly. Let me know if you plan on taking it further. Lots could be inproved, the movement could be slicker but the art is perfect as it is. Great great work.
I thought the art was top notch. I don't really like these kind of games but found myself wanting to explore all the options to see the animations. It's great visually.
Excellent and a genuinely refreshing game to encounter. Nothing else to say.
Hello LD friend. Pleased you got your ratings. I can't really play it on my track pad and I can't find my mouse for love nor money. I will give it a go once I find it. Thanks for your comments on my game. See you at the next one.
Beautiful, upgrade system simple and nice. What is not to like?
Great entry. I feel slightly unsettled now. Reminded me of being with my first girlfriend. I can see the work that was put in and I thought the voice work was great.
Great nostalgia hit. It was particularly good on my android device. Something about holding it in my hands was especially satisfying. Good job
@franciszek-pyrc thanks bro. Much appreciated.
Extremely epic. I am keeping it on my phone
Fun game, looks great and was a good challenge.
Intense! I enjoyed it in a seat of your pants kind of way. Simple and well excecuted. Well done.
Lovely and reflective game. Original and well made. I wish it was not spread over multiple screens as it felt a bit disconnected. Solid entry though.
I enjoyed this. I thought the puzzle element grew in complexity nicely. The swiping got a bit tedious after a while on my phone. Great job
Well made solid entry. Funny at times. Worked well on my device. Good job
It was nice to see a maze and the theme is here. I did not find myself gripped by it and I think it was in part down to the movement mechanic. It felt a bit slow and laboured. I was on my phone so maybe some swiping might have helped.
@vjmunhoz time is both our enemy and our friend. So much of mine was left out because of time. I honestly did not even have a single proper play through of mine before the deadline. Luckily it worked well enough. But it was luck.
Loved it. Simple clean and quick. Nothing negative to report. Maybe the winner being clearer at the end, podium maybe? Great work
Suprisingly tricky. I love the take on the theme. If I had to criticise it I would have liked the movement to be a bit more slinky and loose. Good job
I just had a good go on your post jam. I enjoyed the challenges just as much and was left wanting more. It is still an interesting challenge and I love the code breaking nature of it. It did not strike me as massively different from the last time I played it which is a good thing. If it's not broke don't fix it. If I had to give any constructive feedback and this is not based on any problems, more a potential opportunity I felt like I was looking at a wave form and I think the music being distorted based on the parameters could be an interesting aditional tuning effect. You could play with tone or reverb to make the connection to what you see and here more full. I think I would get a big kick out of something like that. Just an idea it is still solid as it is.
Lovely. I liked the crash animation a lot. I like a well done death mechanic. The sound was great too.
Not at all like Tetris. I could have played for ages and it was a nice nostalgia hit
Come to the Nice Island to have a nice time. It was really nice
Same as above in the most part. The mouse thang got in the way of the enjoyment. I liked the art
@eptwalabha I played it an hour and a half ago. It would get to the screen edge and that would be my maximum range.
@eptwalabha no I didn't that might be worth clarification. I left it on to try and work out what was going on
Really nice entry. It was slick and satisfiying.
Hey buddy. Another great entry. Once I got in the zone of fighting rather than fleeing I started to progress. Love the style, the camera set up is great and the music is a great mood setter. Great work.
I fear I might have beep bod yar who stuck in my head for a while now. Great entry
Nice to play something totally different. The dice animation was a highlight
Good work. Nice perspective on the walls and a fun twist
I really enjoyed this game. Totallyu worth taking further as I was left wanting more. Constructive feedback is it would have read better if the colour of the gems was further away from the track colour. Minor but I found my eyes lost the prize on occasion. Great job
Looks good, sounds good, plays good. Tick tick tick. The twist on the turn based game mechanic is where the gold star is at! Great job
Loved it. Simple clean and most importantly it made my brain feel nice. I imagine thats what ASMR feels like.
Wow I loved it. I want it on my phone now! Please make this fully fledged. Its epic
I like this idea and who does not like being a good boy for a while. Audio is the biggest hole here.
I am stuck on the second level and the moving wall is moving erratically. Question am I really bad at Parkour or is this not meant to be so hard? I will come back and review after I get a bit further into it.
I liked the scale of the artwork you used. I worked well. I really missed some audio. Good job though
There was fun in this idea but not in the actual playing of it. I found it hard to judge distance and could have done with an impact animation. Maybe some shading on the blocks nearest would help with distance. I did think it was funny.
I loved the art and sound track. It was an alround good experience. Just a shame about the text, but you know that already.
Looks lovely, plays lovely is lovely
And you asked me if I was camp? LOL great game really tickled me. I have no really faults to point out. It was a slick and enjoyable experience. Those dudes never stood a chance.
Interesting take on loops. This kinda game never appeals but it was interesting enough to hold my attention for a few deaths. Good work
Wow I feel like I have just had a proper good workout. Simple game well executed. Played great, looked great, sounded great. What more is there to say?
A really good game. I like the tenstion between speed and care. Not really anything to add other than well worth pushing on and developing it further. Lots of potential here. Great job
Oh what can I say. Near perfection in terms of feel. So very very satisfying. Its great. I hope you continue to develop it. It could be really special. Loved it
@ynk "SPOILER ALERT" You are running in circles as you keep returning to the campsite where it all Began.
@pete-valeo thanks man. I had a game breaking issue which took most of the last day to fix. It took out the extra features on my list. I will carry on with it for sure
@digitaldude555 I am sad about the theme seeming weak. I did it too subtly it seems. Endlessly running in circles seemed like a good fit but you're not the first to pick it up. Thanks for trying it out
@bauke-regnerus @nikolay-zapolnov @tangomango Thanks for your comments.
@darkmax14 yes its different each time. The only thing that is fixed is how far you run before returning to the camp (sad face for the lost boy) Each time you get to the camp the frequency of squid things ramps up.
@javasaurus thanks man it was a genuine thrill to watch you play it. So pleased you liked it
@fabula-rasa good to hear the android version passed the test. The score was part of the list that got wiped out trying to fix it before the deadline. Jam fun stuff like that, it was very broken right up to the end
@donamougou so the death mechanic is if the beam from them is not obscured by a game object you are dead. No beam pointed at you then you are safe to move. Thanks for playing I really appreciate it.
@teto I am going to carry on. So much left on my list not done. The difficulty does ramp up with each return to the camp and the distance between each is larger. I am yet to get to camp 4. I have plans for different enemy types and hiding spots. Plenty to fix first
@ondy1985 hey thanks for playing. Interesting feedback. I ran out of time to put in the run/walk mechanic I had planned, which was a tap to switch between them with a stamina bar which would deminish and recharge. The thought of frantically taping fills me with dread, in many ways my pull in game design is usually about things in games I dislike and there are lots of mobile conventions I am fighting against. Frantic taps and virtual joysticks are both on the list. I could see the tapping machanic working well, I just wouldn't make it or play it myself. Feel free to have it for yourself with my blessing
@tad I am pleased I made you laugh. I have always ignored the humour section so I wanted to put some quirky bits in. I did not plan for it to be so tense and it overshadowed any funny bits
@eptwalabha I like the no going backwards idea. I will play test that and see if it adds more than it takes
@tom-a I made this with mobile in mind but as I built it I had mapped the down arrow for hide. I knew I needed mouse for mobile to work and by the time I had finally fixed the nasty game breaking elements I had to change the controls in a mad sprint before submission. I agree a space option would have been good.
@drtizzle thanks brother. Pleased you liked it. I found myself thinking about run guys a lot whilst planning it. I have come a long way since then
@sharks the dimming is a mist issue they are just planes and I did a 5 mins till deadline hack on the camera to move it closer when hiding to reduce trees blocking out the view. It was a fixed distance before that so I did not notice it in time to fix. It's on the post jam list of fixes, which is quite long lol
@thiago-nascimento I'll take that as a massive compliment, it was in the bag of thoughts for sure. I love inside
@shaolin-dave Thanks man. I have been working on the post jam today. It's been really helpful getting all the feedback. There is lots of gameplay elements to iron out. The hiding is already much improved and it will always select the closest one eventially it is about 95% of the time in the jame version and I don't yet know why it picks any other. Its all fun. So much was left on my list at submission time it's been a really nice day of working through it and moving it incrimentally towards its real potential. I have plans for the music and its going to do nothing to relieve the tension!
@kultisti Thanks for this. I had a ton of problems trying to get them to work in all scenarios. I ran out of time to go back to them as they fitted into the good enough for box. I am working on the Post Jam version now and the Aliens are getting a deep overhaul. Slightly smoother, slightly smarter but just as scary. I appreciate the image.
@mikoziq TheSoulSelelectorCollector approves this message. Really enjoyed your stream keep at it.
@kassjak thanks for the feedback. Nice score. My highest score was part skill and part kind procedural gen. It varies quite a lot depending of the spec of the aliens when they spawn. Slow ones are great to run past but bad if they get in range etc. I am looking forward to working out how to stop the aliens ever getting stuck. They do get out eventually but they become a bit less scary when they are outfoxed by a tree. lol
Hey @fupi thanks for the feedback. Its easy to get trapped if you hide too long. The Jam ran out of time before I could finish the features I had hope for. Just so you know it is procedural, no play through is the same twice. Each time the Camp is revisited the frequency of the aliens spawning is ramped up. It gets pretty intense by lap 5 and I have not got much further than that myself. I am not sure if it's even possible to get to the 10th one!
@marcmagus Thanks for the feedback. It's all going into the Post Jam version which I am working on at the moment. Already lots of improvements and some of the extra variety I had to leave out is being implimented. It's funny I just took a break from redesigning the hiding response time. It is all being tweeked and watching your stream and others has given me plenty to go on. I am very grateful to you guys for all the time you have put in. It's a real gift.
@vivien-fargette that's a pretty good run. I have plans for the music which will make it much more dynamic. Thanks for playing
@jk5000 sometimes it is impossible. Unfortunately I spent most of my last day trying to fix a game breaking bug. By the time that was done submission was rapidly approaching. Death is inevitable. Post Jam much improved and the feedback you get from LD is so useful.
@vphyre Thanks. I have been pushing hard to get the Post Jam version in shape. I am refining mostly and adding the things I had planned originally and tweeking based on the feedback I have had. It is still the same game, but with extra polish! I will get it out before ratings end. Its been a good Jam this one. Standards high games pretty good all round. What's not to like?
@pete-valeo I have been working my socks of to fix this game before results day was over. Your comments were all spot on. I have added some of the game mechanics in that I was noble to do in the time and it is much improved. You can keep track of you score too. I hope you find a moment to have a look at it fleshed out a bit. Good luck with your scores. Until the next one... P.S Windows version is much better than web. Let me know what you think.
@ynk I have just made public the Pst Jam version. Hopefully the loop part has been made a little clearer. It is a much better experience. Good luck with the results and thanks for playing this one.
@digitaldude555 Hi. I have done a post jam update. I have mad a procedurally generated soundtrack now, still moody but less of a stuck in just one loop vibe. I'd be super happy if you fancied giving it a spin.
@bauke-regnerus Thanks for playing this one.I have made a post jam version and all this feedback was super helpful. I am slightly broken now as it has been a lot of work. You can now see the edges of the aliens detection zone which helps a lot. If you feel so inclined I love to hear your feedback.
@nikolay-zapolnov The bones the bones. I have just released a post jam version. The bones are still doing their thing but I am super happy with how you come back to life now. If you want to see how I used the bones to make extra lives I would love to hear your thoughts.
@tangomango the Post Jam version is no less wierd. In fact I was deliberatly wierder but the fun is way up too. I have redesigned the movement and hiding from scratch. It all feels much slicker. If you can be bothered to have another spin and let me know your thoughts then that would be grand. Good luck with the results.
@kidbiti I have added a few new game mechanics into it to confuse you even more. You can jump over trip hazards now by clicking rather than holding. If you trip then nearby aliens come to investigate. There are a lot of deaths for this poor boy. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Good luck with the results
@baran I have just publisheded the post jam. I have added a lot of sounds to the aliens to help with the tension. Also the soundtrack is a lot more dynamic and no less frightening. If you want I would love to hear your thoughts. I am going to be developing this for some time I think. Here is to good scores for us all.
@darkmax14 I loved the fact you called them squids and it stuck with me so they are now extra squid like. Check out the squids in the postjam version. I hope you approve, it is because of you. Good luck with the scores
@haustgeirr I have made the satisfaction of getting zap all the more tollerable in the post jam. Helped by the fact you can gain extra lives. Coming back from the dead is particularly violent. If you have a go let me know your thoughts and good luck with the scores
@javasaurus Thanks for playing it on your stream. I learned so much from seeing people play it and I have put lots of it into the post jam version. If you fancy giving it the once over I would really value your feedback. Post Jam Stream maybe?
@fabula-rasa Hello I have added loads of extra stuff into the post jam version and have put an updated android build in the downloads. If you fancy having a go I would love to hear what you think. Good luck with the results
@timbeaudet Thanks for streaming this. It was very useful for the post Jam and inspired me to push hard to get it as far as possible. Check it out if you are so inclined. I appreciate all you did
@darylsteak loads more to do in the post jam if I can tempt you? See above link
@toulou I have made a post jam version. You can now help him avoid trip hazards all still one button... Its even more moody now
@netmute I hope the post jam version is more fantastic because I know its more scary. The red aliens are the worst...
@donamougou I have added a post jam version and took your advice. There is a lot more sound help in the game including a lock on and lock off sound. It does really help timing when to flee or wait. let me know if you try it out
@justcamh Hey great results for your game. Well deserved I thought it was fantastic. I have done a post jam version of A nNight Around The Fire. Watching you play on stream really helped to see how and what needed to change. If you have the time an feel so inclined I would love to hear your thoughts. Congrats
@ellladee hopefully you will love the post jam just as much or maybe more. Solid scores on your game I see Well done.
@ar-borno I ran out of time to give him a backpack in the post Jam game but the idea came when playing yours. It is something I will work out how and why to add. There is plenty else that is new if you fancy giving it a try.
@jonah the guy with the guitar still does not do well in the post jam version and if anyhting it has gotten worse for the boy. Fancy giving it a go and letting me know what you thought?
@teto Your wish is my comand. Post Jam version is packed with as much as I could do before the results. I will pick it up again but I am going to sleep for like a week now. I would love to hear your thoughts on what I have done these last 3 weeks. It's been emotional
@avatargreggles I have done a post jam. Lots of added features. I have made a randomly generated soundtrack which I hope adds to the mood. If you feel like checking it out I would love to have it played
@tad I have added a few extra easter eggs into the post jam. I expect a couple of extra chuckles maybe and a bit of grossness. If you fancied giving it a spin that would be grand
@mauricioscherer Hello I have done a post jam version. I have entirely rebuilt the movement mechanic and made the hiding much more consistent and rewarding. Thanks for your feedback all of it went into my planning for the post jam so I hope you give it a try and leave me a comment
@julienlussiez great results for your game. Voxel for the win. I have done a post jam version. I particularly enjoyed the challenge of making the voxel trees. Lots to learn still but I am satisfied with the results. I would love to hear your thoughts if you try it
@eptwalabha hello I have published the post jam version and takeninto consideration your feedback. The hiding animations are much more refined and you can only go back a short distance now. The movement has been rebuilt from the bottom up and whilst not yet perfect, much improved. If you want to give it a go then I would love to hear your thoughts.
@stormcat I have added a few new features in the post jam. There are now obsticles to avoid which you tap to allow the boy to see. A new alien type also clears bushes leaving you more exposed. If you fancy taking a look that would be great all of the fedback here was so helpful in clarifying what needed to be done to help realise more of its potential. The first steps have been taken and there is a long way to go. It's going to be fun I think to develop this one
@jk5000 thanks the story is coming. I am thinking about chance encounters and locations whilst still coming back to the camp. Maybe possible salvation? I have updated the soundtrack it is randomly curated so it should be subtly different each run. Thanks for your thoughts
A good little game. It's hard to judge but thats no bad thing. It does the job and was pretty solid
Once I got into the swing of things I enjoyed this game. It had its frustrations and they were frustrating because they were easy fixes. So the delayed movement of the camera was nice but it was too loose, I should not go out of view so I would reduce the slack. My player speed would have been more fun if it was faster, it just felt too sluggish. I would have like a quicker access to my upgrades too, it felt needlessly slow. That being said it did not get in the way of this being a fun little game
Thats a really interesting concept and I feel out of the context of this rate a review phase I would have given myself more time to grapple with it. It hurt my nogging in a good way. Like you mention above a bit more hand holding in the first place required. I hope you continue to work on it it has loads of potential
Nicely put together. The art was strong and although the story is not really my kinda thing I was happy to continue through it. Good Job.
Hey thats an interesting concept. I found myself losing interest waiting for the timer. If you can skip it I could not see, so I only got through a few loops in my 10 minutes I give to games. A skip when ready option would be a winner. Top originality though.
Viva the Voxel. Lots of work here and a good use of the theme. I felt the difficulty went the wrong way as the tasks were completed, but I expect that was a time thing. Really solid effort.
This is really nicely put together game. I enjoyed it and fairs well against all the other train games I seem to be playing :)
This is excelent. Not much else to say. Great work
Really solid game. I particularly enjoyed the lo res pixel art. You managed a lot in a little space. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would at first glance.
Funny as always. Lots in this for a compo game.
@dk5000p time is our enemy and our friend. I spend the last 6 hours of the Jam trying to fix a game breaking bug. Just cracked it by the skin of my teeth. It was close and it took all the time for the extra features I wanted to add. Happy with what I got done, but there is always so much you wished you had added.
I love the art style and whilst this kind of game is not my kind of thing I did enjoy the time I spent on it
Such fun, such chaos. I love a bit of ragdoll mayhem
Wow you got loads of content packed into this. It was challenging and fun. I liked the little touches. Looking at his watch etc. Lots to like here.
Pretty slick and challenging. The pace of it I really liked.
Nice concept. It hurt my brain in a good way. If i had a criticism it would be that the turning control was a strain on the brain. Not sure quit what the right solution would be but it was an annoyance rather than a delight. Other than that a challenging and interesting game
Who knew that hiccups had such potential. Very interesting and slightly annoying (but in a good way) mechanic. Loved the art style. It is a solid entry.
Wow this is ace. Love the art and the action is thick and fast. Kinda feels like a finished gaem already. Kudos
Great entry. I really needed that. Would genuinly play this for fun. The tension mounts nicely and gets proper frantic. Only complaint and its minor would be the explosion sound is a bit crunhie and seems a bit delayed. It would feel better is it hit earlier soundwise. Thats all everything else was great
I really liked the way the lap ends, very nice touch. The physics was really nice and smooth too. Simple and satisfying. Only thing I noticed was when we zoomed into the next lap if I had a key held down still it went a bit janky.
A really solid entry. It plays great. It looks great. I missed audio cause without it the drama is a little flat. Good work though
Hey. I really like this take on the theme and the mixing up styles. The text is great too. I enjoyed my time loading
Simple but effective. I really enjoyed the pleasure pain balance of the game loop. It was an interesting ride.
Wow that is confusing but in a good way. Nicely put together and plenty to give. Great entry
It got much more interesting once the secret mechanic came in. It was a nice touch. Good work.
Nice simple game. I enjoyed it for it's limited scope. More levels would be fun
I would have liked more to do, but what I could do I liked.
A nice concept an with more time I think this could turn into something great. The tutorial was a bit too long. I enjoyed my time in the kitchen
Nicely put together and wow it gets tense quick. Lovely work
Great game. Sound the only thing I missed. I would say it was a bit too wordy for me, but its a great game.
Just Great
I could have done with a little more hand holding going into the mechanic, but I got there and it was fun. Loving the lofi pixel style.
So wow I regret trying this out with a headache. What was I thinking? The screams, the music all perfect for getting me in a hellish mood. It made me smile tho.
I loved it. It reminded me of many a happy day playing Super Skidmarks. Great work
I really licked playing this one. It had the right mix of challenge and reward. I would have liked the level to reset on a click anywhere rather than having to move to the reset button. It will speed up the game loop. Good job
Love the art style, the humour and feel is spot on. A simple entry but everything is as it should be. Nice work
This is a really class entry. The art style is perfect. I really enjoyed it. Nice to play as a non Hamster rodent too.
I found the control layout a bit offputting. Started to avoid features and just spam. Other than that I got through it all.
I really enjoyed this one. It was clean, simple and challenging. So many ways it could go and I was left wanting more
This is a class entry. Simple, well done. The sound and art are great. I really enjoyed getting my spook on
Great artstyle, funny and interesting take on the theme. What's not to like?
Its a really good game for such a short amount of time. I feels like its going to be easy at first and soon snaps you out of that once you realise the tension of a full bucket. The game loop is really good.
I found the aiming a little annoying. I wanted it to feel a little snappier I guess. It was a nice conept and I did have fun overall. Good job
This is a really classy entry. I love the way it was rendered and you extracted a lot of band for buck out of a block. I really enjoyed the sinister aspect too. Great
Simple clean game. I enjoyed it once I got the mechanic. For its limited scope a good job was done.
Throwing a loop midjump and landing on it was very satisfying
@peace-of-cake-games So I have played your game again and have gathered some thoughts. So putting aside the graphics audio and lack of tutorial my thoughts are these: Playing again without a time limit enabled me to explore your game with less pressure. When I first played it I was trying to get through as many entries as I could. So I took my time this time. So first and foremost I am so over side scrolling 2d platform games, I am 40 years old and have been exposed to then for 35 years of my life. It takes a lot to get my attention with this genre so I am pretty hard on them. I would say as a point of refference the only few that have caught my attention have been Exit Path and N+. Why I reference these is the movement and more specifically the movement feel. They are very satisfying. Your game does not compare well against those two and already that makes me not want to play it. If you develop this game further then that is where I would concentrate your energy first of all. It's what I tackled first in my post jam and I had to start from scratch to start getting it right. I am still not there yet but it is better. If the player is not liking the way they move then the drive to explore the deeper parts of the game is already inhibited. Without going on about the graphics too much the visual story telling would be where I would work next. Because the blocks were all the same it was not clear what my objective was and because I was left to work it out there was no real satisfaction is finding the right action to move on. It was a meh rather than a yes! The transition from one level to the next is where the theatre of the game comes in and I was left very flat from it. I would work out something more celebratory for those transitions from one world to the next. In terms or power ups etc I would work out how to expand the function of the loop you cast. At the moment it is a static platform. If you could cast it in a more flexible way then it could add some interesting functionality. Longer holds for bigger loops, long thin ones, moving ones, whips, ropes etc. the casting of the loop could give you many options to extend the interest and I doubt it would need much more than that.
I hope that's useful and good luck until next time
Get back you horrible birds!
A lovely little loop this is too. The individual elements are greater as being part of the whole. If I had to pick anything out to fault I thought it was a bit of a shame the music used whilst the seed was dropping was not the same length as the level, seeing as this was a fixed time it would have been good to do that. Other than that I had a really nice time. Thanks
@etrealjunior thanks for the plug and kind words. I am really enjoying this LD so many good entries to enjoy.
NIce use of story telling and simple but useful graphics. I liked it
It was fun whilst it lasted. I liked the simple but effective art style
Wow I was baffled for a minute there, but once the game loop fell into place it was an interesting challenge. Good work
I love the artstyle and the game loop is a real challenge. So much joyous death. A very fun experience.
Nice art and smooth mechanic. I got a little zoned out once I got the mechanic. It lacked variety. But what is done here is well done. Good job.
@jedemac I had spotted it and updated it. Hopefully it is working now. It all looks like it should.
Hello @astavie It wouldn't be a Ludum Dare if I hadn't made a game people don't get. I don't really know how to say it without it sounding like I am taking the piss but here it is. You pick a circle by clicking on it, if it lands on a platform you carry on, if it falls off the screen it's game over. There is not much more to it than that. If you fancy trying again I don't mind revealing that on the first drip the red one will drop onto a platform. A white arrow shows you which Circle you have selected. That's all there is to it.
@astavie no worries. I have a track record of making games I think are simple, that confuse and infuriate people. I am working on it. I have updated my description so hopefully that helps a bit. I didn't really have any time this LD so it was always going to be a light entry for me. Tutorials not my strong point! In terms of the algorythm each circle dictates where the platforms are. So they are never the same for each circle. It's always a guessing game of trial and error. A blind guess and then retracing your steps. It's not going to appeal to everyone. I was thinking about rubix cubes and how long I spent trying to work them out. Drip is in that vein.
@rolly you have it about right. There is no way to get good. It's about breaking the code and seeing how far you can get. There is no pattern
@rolly I am up to 28. I am working out how you would put checkpoints into something procedurally generated like this. It's making my brain hurt.

It's a really interesting take on the theme. I liked the challenge and thought it was well thought through. The 3d highlight was a bit off at times and made me click and place the wrong tile. A bit more clarity would go a long way I think. Awesome though, kudos
As I expect from you a thoughtful and interesting game. It flowed nicely and I liked the voice acting. Not what I was expecting mood wise, but I liked the way it revealed itself alot. The 'echos' were fantastic. I would have liked a countdown so I knew how many were left to collect in the dark, but thats my only feedback. Great work.
@jk5000 well done. Top 25% in everything is a great success in my eyes. Well done you beat most. Until next time my friend
Yeah sorry my bad. I was talking to my daughter about how strange it is to get the ratings. It's good to get feedback and there is an urge to see where you fit in the greater scheme of things. The thing is the scores are so subjective, the scales are so personal that it does not mean much. For example one streamer played my game and showed the ratings they gave. Pretty much 5s across the board. It was a buzz and unexpected but it definitely got my hopes up. Different people have different instincts on how to score the ratings, it makes the actual comparison of scores between games almost meaningless. I now am happy with 3.5 and over. It means a good enough job was done. I think like you I don't deliberately make my submissions with a goal of winning. I like to challenge myself first and foremost. Part of that is knowing that my submission is not ever going to be 'finished' and that it won't be everyone's cup of tea. Art should not be easy, but in a competition it can work against you. Who wants to be bland any way? I think we can both be comfortable that no other games quite like ours were made. I did not play anything else like yours for sure. Being able to be original should be reward enough in it's self. Kudos to you my friend
@jk5000 Thanks for trying it. There is still lots to do. The way the cards come out is on the to do list. Lots still to add before getting to balancing. I am going to try and commit to this one for a while. I will try swapping the standard to the top. I am planning a series of 'levels' which will act as a soft tutorial. Mobile is in the back of my mind as well. Time to roll my sleeves up and push on.
I really enjoyed the game loop. Particularly once I started to bump. The art style is great too. Generally I had a nice time
Lovely stuff. I enjoyed it. Sometimes the lack of music made it feel a bit stark against the nice juice you had in the visuals. It was frustrating and rewarding in equal measure to get my harvest on. Nice ideas worth a bit of extra time I'd say. Kudos
Really interesting take on the theme and game loop. I liked it when it got going. I think if I had to pick up one thing is that it feels a bit messy visually. A lot of work went in but some of the pre amble just felt a bit rushed and not worth it. Once the game loop got going it was really cool. Good work
I thought the overall game system was really well thought out. The rats were annoying but in a good way and the balance overall was pretty good. Everything worked well with the level progression etc. I found the control layaout pretty counter intuative and that was the only real thing that frustrated me. Good work
It was a bit confusing at first but once I got it I really liked the game loop. It created an interesting tension. The art and music was great too. Over all I really liked this one. Kudos
A simple enough idea put together well. I found the camera a bit zippy and would have liked the controls to have felt different somehow. I think a bit more juice in the pounce mechanic would have been good. It ended up feeling a bit flat when killing. But for the time you had it is a solid game and no bugs to report.
Interesting, confusing and pretty. My kind of entry!
Well that was all very nice. What is not to like? Kudos
A pretty solid game. I could have done with a bit more hand holding. I stopped when guessing became not fun. I would have played longer with some clear targets to aim for. I really liked the art and I could see it becoming a game worth playing.
@snowdrama yeah I know that pain. I did better this time at realising what was sensible or not. Still lots got cut on the last day. Some pretty important bits had to go. That is the jam way of life.
It took me a mo to get my head round it but once I did it was pretty fun. The faking it that the crows sometimes do is a good tension raiser. Over all really nice job
So so good. I could have played this for hours and it was genuinly hard to stop. Push this on and make it a real thing. There is an audience for this game. KUDOS
A really solid entry and pretty vast. I found the combat to be a bit confusing / overwhelming at times and would have liked some more visual feedback. The art was cool the systems were great and overall this is a really ambitious game that was well pulled off. KUDOS
I liked the vibe here a lot. I enjoyed feeding the lil peeps bubbles. I never really got a sense of collecting beans or the return to base loop really doing much. The bubbles were fun whilst they lasted
Moo. I won
Loved it. No faults to find. Kudos
Not much to add that hasn't already been said. It was nice, has potential and was well made. Good work
It was interesting to balance staying away and getting close. I think the flames were a bit op but the waves got more challenging and for a compo this is lots of good work.
A nice little game. It all seem to work pretty nicely. I liked the challenge of trying to be selective about what I collected. It was challenging in an easy to understand way. I would have liked a lifebar or something to know how close to the end I was. Other than that solid work. Kudos
DONK! Loved it. I found it very satisfying indeed. If I had to comment on anything I would have liked the camera to be a little wider / smarter. Maybe the faster you go the wider the view? Anyway a really neat and complete entry. Kudos
A pretty simple pleasure. I really liked the art and sound. The game loop was pretty straightforward but challenging none the less. Neat entry.
Thanks @sharks. Yeah card info was broken as well as other stuff. I've been doing 7 day jams more recently. I knew 72 was going to be a shock! I am pleased you are my first play
@sharks before the great overscope cull took place water had a greater roll. You can place ducks on grass water blocks but thats about it
@rolly sorry about the lack of bugs. Having done virtually zero play testing I assumed there would be more. Damn my ambition. Thanks for the shortcut suggestion I hadn't considered that. This is my nod to Idle click, I was told people love a bit of clicking. I have started work on post jam whilst watching some streams. So many improvements were really easy to do, it's annoying. I got my plans right just needed a few more days lol
Thanks @chompdev I've been doing a bit of post dev whilst watching streams and it's already come on a long way. So much that was on the list was actually super simple to add. Hard not to kick yourself for prioritising other things. That's jams for you. I will let you know when it's updated.
Thanks @tosmaster just watching yours on stream. Can't wait to play. Post jam is coming along nicely
@his-the-unknown-painter I am planning an Easter egg for the post jam in your honor
@pcmaster technically yes but it's unlikely once you get food in the system. I am finishing off the list in a post jam which has difficulty settings. The people will die but not likely in the submission
@pcmaster thanks for the encouragement. I think I shall
@jk5000 thanks buddy. Here is to the results. May the ratings be kind.

Thanks so much for being along for the ride. I am really happy with my ratings. I hope you are to. Top half and I am happy.
I have made a Post Jam Work In Progress. If you want to check it out then I'd love feedback. My aim is Steam. Watch this space.
If any of you want feedback on Post Jam versions tag me and I am there.
I hope 2023 is the year that all our dreams come true. Peace out TheSoulSelector AKA Arron
https://thesoulselector.itch.io/mustered
A simple pleasure. Considering it is so text heavy it never felt too cumbersome, you could get the gist, weight up the impact and zip along. No bugs that I noticed, solid work nicely done.
Solid TD. I liked the art. Could have done with a start next wave button. It was good. Kudos
Really fun and solid. Not much to add. I thought it was great. Kudos
I really like the feel of this one generally. It was nice to play, everything felt pretty solid and slick. If I had to pick up on anything it was that it ended up feeling a bit dull and safe to play. It had tension but never felt like I was in peril. Great job though I liked it a lot
So much going on here! It was at times a bit overwhelming and this game deserves more time than I could give it for sure. I appreciate the complexity and systems in place and could see many folk like myself loosing lots of time to this. I hope you are thinking about post jam and would love to play any updates. Kudos
I Win! Short and simple. I was asked to collect corn and I did just that. Nice work. I could learn a thing or two from you about scope!
Pretty big idea to pull off in a short space of time. I did feel like I was just waiting for the boss after a while. When the bosses came I beat them but it felt more of a chore than a reward. I am sure there were bigger plans. The work that has been done here and the writing was good, if not a little too much at times. Good work.
Pretty impressed you got this done within the time. The lack of sound was an issue for me as it just made it feel very empty. I really liked your sprites and the system for new attacks was nice too. Overall really good work. Kudos
Pretty solid. Once I got the hang of the game loop it was pretty fun and challenging. Lots going on here that was done well. Kudos
Wow it is actually more challenging than first meets the eye. Strong Pac Man vibes and that's no bad thing. I liked the 3d elements and the art style. It's solid
The scale of your ambition here is epic. As a fellow 'make it a big challenge' or go home Jammer, I like that kind of thing. I imagine there are things on your list that did not make it into the game that would improve it no end. My experience was a bit aim less and long. I found a village and a cave and after a few suprise visits from the locals I finally found some wood and then I died and here we are. I think a little area at the beginning where you could see what you are looking for and how to collect it would have made it easier to explore further, safe in the knowledge you knew what was expected of you. The world is pretty vast and that is a credit to you.
@ty-victorson yeah mine is totally the same. I have to remind myself that I do choose to cram it in and I could do a simple game if I choose. I think I will always choose crazy mission
This is really challenging. An interesting use of the theme and athe kind of game that probably requires a deeper dive. Good work
I really like the art style. I could have done with some extra hand holding to get me started. I think it just required more time and headspace than I currently have to give it a full play. What I saw I liked.
So I would have had a much nicer time with a bit less of a time punishment. I was not getting it for quite a few game overs and that was putting me off of trying. That being said the concept was a really interesting take on the theme and the art style was great. In terms of Jams it is always better to start easy and ramp the difficulty up slowly. Good work
I really liked this. I can see the systems and patterns forming underneath and I could see this becoming a really deep and challenging game if you pushed those elements. Right now it's perfectly pleasing. Kudos
This is awesome. Where it might lack a little juice here and there. Flapping wings is a must in any post jam. The loop was great. I will come back to play this again. Super work. KUDOS
Really solid entry. I started with the controller but that is a bit broken. I am pleased I checked back and tried again with keys. The use of the them is really interesting although at times made the game loop feel a little slow and laboured. I really liked the art style you went with and the visuals had plenty of juice. That was time well spent. Good game. Kudos
I really loved it. The low pixel style was really fitting and it was remarkably compelling. Spot on, kudos.
Super slinky game feel. I loved it and building your city was a nice contrast. No complaints, just wanted more! KUDOS
Solid entry. It was nice to play and there was enough variety in the cards to keep it interesting. Definitly worth working on further I think. Great take on the theme. kudos
@teto welcome to my back catalogue lol
Super solid entry. Gets quite full on but the game loop is solid and compelling. Really good work. kudos
I really loved the end scene! It was a simple and well put together game loop that I enjoyed. What more can I ask? Kudos
Top quality. I really loved everything about it. Awesome work.
Really interesting mix of styles. It was fun and had enough of a challenge as you jumped up the levels of intensity. I would have liked the movement to have a bit more juice, but that was only because there was so much good juice elsewhere. I loved the voice stuff too. Impressive work. Kudos
Damn bro how did you get your florrets so tight? Great art, weird experience. Whilst I like punching stuff and explosions and all that the game loop was not that compelling after a while. The juice and style was spot on. Overall this submission was tight as a Brocolli's ass.
A simple game well put together. It was nice to play and had a good level of challenge. Nice work
Great effort. Every thing works as intended, no bugs that I noticed. Lots could be added to make it clearer what to do next. I got over 60 water and then was unclear what to do with it next. maybe a prompt would have been helpful? Anyway I had fun and that's all that matters.
Cool game. Fair play adding multiplayer in a 3 day Jam. Kudos for the ambition. I would make the wait time a little shorter for the refresh just so play rate can move along quicker. Good work
Pleased you got your 20
Simple loop made me curious to see what it could become. It's a good start for sure
It took a while to understand the game loop. I missed that you have to manually prompt attacks. The look of it is great and with a little more juice and handholding in the mechanics side of things would really elevate the experience. Solid entry. Kudos
This is great. Great idea, great theme use, great graphics. No fault, all admiration. Full on KUDOS
Wow tricky dual function but pleasing. I found it a little distressing just how much I could not avoid hitting. Lot's of sausages for dinner. Other than that a really cool entry. Good job
Lovely entry. Super art style and nice gameloop that was compelling and satisfying. I could not pick up radishes towards the end but other than that it was pretty awesome. KUDOS
It's a great little entry. I loved the art and the attention to detail. Very good work indeed
It was a bit confusing at first but I soon got the hang of it. It all seems to work as intended and feels quite well rounded. It was a bit of a struggle to manage everything so it was more intense than fun to play. Considering the time you had this is a great accomplishment.
Great voice work. I genuinely had a good time playing this game. The simple game loop was satisfying and not too safe. The power for the throw was nicely balanced. If I had to ask for improvement maybe the bike could have moved with a bit more fluidity. Minor thing. Really solid entry
I loved the way this looked. A simple game loop made very challenging with the controls! I can't say I found it much fun. I spent most of my time correcting the things I had done by accident. Mind Blown. It sounded great too and I was pleased to finally return to base. It was a messy flight!

Hello friend. Hope you are well. Nice to see you back here. I really enjoyed playing this. I was suprised at how happy it made me just to very carefully drive. I had no desire to go fast at all. Just bumbled along vibing. The level progression was just about right and honestly I would have played for hours. The only thing missing was traffic. I think having slow and awkward traffic to avoid would raise the tension a lit bit. Great job
Also the game did not want to load in Firefox, but was happy in Edge. I wonder why that would be?
As said before lots of good stuff pulled of well. The movement lets it down a little. It needed more juice so that navigating the levels felt more fun. What you did do well was make the levels feel thought through and I did enjoy it.
Lots to like. It was challenging and an interesting game loop. I wish you bounced off the walls. I did get stuck a few times and had to restart. It was a good effort and I liked playing it. Good work
Super clever and well done. Not much to add. Very impressive. KUDOS
Soooo much work here. Most of it real good. I liked the vibes a lot. The options for the Ute excellent. Radio was awesome. It's so big and that is maybe a blessing and a curse on a jam game. It requires a lot of time to start getting into the game. Collecting stuff up was fun and I liked trying to get it to fit and stay in the back. I found the camera/steering combo a bit of a head fry but it also felt appropriate. Super work KUDOS
Nice Crazy taxi vibes. The game loop was simple and clean. Map was awesome and fun to explore. It looks good and sounds good. The movement was the only thing I would critique. I would have loved it to have flowed and slinked more. It felt to fast/ crispy to really enjoy. It was not bad but it could have compelled me to just ride for pleasure instead I was just riding for disks. I could get lost in a game like this if the feels are right. So much great work here. KUDOS
@quanta-studios thanks. I was pleased with how it all came together. I didn't really have time to think about anything so I was pleased to get everything done on my list. Just. I got my scope right for a change!
@chesschaser thanks. I was really suprised it worked so well. It kinda fell into place very quickly. More luck than judgment
@3mpty I never do anything simple it seams. I am pleased you like it. I will get a post jam out that is more balanced I think.
@andreadbx I really enjoyed watching you play it
@zimonitrome I will put an option for inverting controls for sure
@chucks-feed-and-seed I love cubes!
@ruruie yeah I know it's a bit punishing. I was thinking like a fish and how it would actually be. I know it's a bit rediculous but I wanted it to be both just cubes and ultra realistic at the same time. I might do a peaceful / nightmare difficulty moving forward
@kuviman I loved watching you play for so long. Mind blowing really. You are a crab in my eyes
@jk5000 howdy buddy. I am pleased you got to take it for a spin. Happy play testing
@daivyishere the power of fog! I am pleased you had a nice time in my little pond
@lomby It was a pleasure to watch you play it on the stream. Thanks for your critique all very useful
@amarokczukay I do love a trail renderer!
@0x-void-x0 if i'd realised I was making a simulation I probably wouldn't have started! Thanks for playing
@drtizzle So nice to touch base. I loved your game
@raffe thanks for the detailed feedback. It's all really useful
@rolly I was really happy with how it all felt. I went with cubes to save time, not really thinking it would be a good idea. It turned out to be much more of an asset than I thought. Got lucky there. I could send you the code I guess but it is all a bit of a mess. I think I can explain it well enough without it so if you really want it we can sort that.
So the weeds are spawned in at random at Start of each level. They are prefabs with a very simple code on each.
The fish don't follow a path think of them as little heat seeking missiles, except they seek cover instead. Every second or so they check for cover. Cover is any block on a weed, or the blocks of the player. It heads to the closest one. They have a wiggle rotation which is applied after they target the desired rotation so that creates the illusion of swimming and stops them heading directly to the cover they target. It's pretty heavy performance wise so I will have to look at refining that.
The big fish are pretty much the same as the little ones except they target the fish instead of the cover. If a fish is in the open they speed up and the chase is on. The fish are in cover if they are close to the cover they target.
Thats pretty much it. Currently simple but a tad expensive
@jupiter-hadley thanks for playing. Good luck on your LD mission!
@remco thanks for all the feedback. It's much appreciated. Lots of people have had the floor smash experience lol
@thesmellofoxygen yeah optimisation was pretty hit and hope lol. Quality settings is on my list for the post jam version
I got it complete at least. I think there is something really cool that has been set up here but it fells like it needed more time. I was very confused and just needed to be helped with it more. A tutorial would have gone a long way. I never full felt like I understood what was going to happen and why, thus I could not really develop my strategy beyond blind guess work. Robots are cool though
It is a thing and you got it done. Kudos. The loop quickly became a bit dull and maybe having less would have kept the tension up a bit. Like 3 shots and you have to make them all type of thing. It quickly became a grind with such a high number.
I found the controls a bit punishing, but after a while got into the swing of things. The art was nice and the flow of the levels design was good. I would have liked slighly more fluid movement but hey I had a nice time innit
I really missed a bit more of a tutorial. It took a long time for things to feel like they had fallen into place in my mind. It was more frustrating than fun to work it out. Can't fault the ambition here though. It looked and sounded great and lots of good work was on show here.
I enjoyed this for a good amount of time. The car moved well and it was mostly fun to drive around and deliver stuff. I think the controls were a bit odd. I kept rolling myself accidentally. The map played well but was a bit dull after a while. The stacking boxes was a nice element and I thought the overall game was well but together. Good job
Same kinda thing as said above really. It was a good idea and would have been more fun if it felt fairer. As soon as people start teleporting about it feels like you are being cheated a bit. I would have liked for a bit more clarity on the hits and pick ups too. It felt a bit hit and hope at times. All minor things. Good job
Left wanting more so that is a good thing. Keeping it short is always a kind move for play and rate. I found the movement a bit jerky but nothing too bad and soon got into the swing of things. I really liked the colour drain on collection. Nice touch. Solid neat entry
Solid entry. I liked the loop a lot and the arts was great. Like others have said the choice for followinging the rhythm was especially punishing. It was not intuitive to know when to aim and a more straightforward music scafolding would have vastly improved the feeling of this game. It ended up feeling like I was being tricked by the audio rather than encouraged. It was the only negative though. Good work
Good vibes. Once I got the hang of it I had a jolly nice time. It was smooth and enjoyable to play. If I were to suggest improvements I would say putting your foot down when stopped could allow you to turn your bike around before setting off again. Also I would make the breaks more effective. All round though an impressive amount achieved. KUDOS
Is this an Extra Game? Or should it be a Jam? Just checking. Look forward to playing it after some sleep.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, oh well. Loved it
The art style and mechanic are all nicely polished with the right amount of juice applied. That being said I found myself thinking am I playing or am I working? Kudos on getting the authentic vibes going but I am on my holiday now so I quit!
Can't fault the ambition here. The map was large and had lots of interest, I am sure there was more planned along the way to. It was a great take on the theme and has some real potential. I found the controls were ok but the movement really could have done with more juice. I wanted to feel like I was flying for real and that was not the case here. The pick up and drop off could have been a bit more generous. I spent a lot of time nearly dropping it off but not quite getting in the right position. This was especially hard when the walls etc started to obscure my view of what was going on. It made it all a bit frantic and confused. Lots great here though and I would play the post jam if you carried on working on it for sure. Great work
I thought it was way too slow at the beginning but soon ate my words as the deliveries became more and more complicated. It was well put together and I liked the art you used. I think it would have benefited from a bit more juice in the interactions as after a time it felt a bit flat. Other than that not much to add. Good work
Lot's got done well in that day! It all worked pretty solidly. Occasionally the collision got a bit janky but generally all good. I liked the art style and the game loop was satisfying. Good work
Nice simple game that is also challenging. It took a few goes to get the hang of it, but once I did it was pretty satisfying. Nice work
It was good. I'd have liked to play your original submission to compare and would suggest keeping it available even with the bugs. I still rated but it feels a bit odd to rate the post jam version.
I liked the look of this and although I found the controls a bit baffling to start with I got into the flow. I think a bit of a hint early on as to where things needed to go might have got me into it a bit quicker. I had a nice mellow time playing it though. Good work
It was a nice twist on an established game loop. It was not always clear if I had successfully delivered a new life at times. The dificulty ramped up nicely and it was well thought out. It lacked a little juice in the interaction and that left it feeling a bit flat as an experience. Good work none the less
Awesome result for you guys. Very pleased for you.
Was not expecting that! So much in this. The mini games all worked well. There was the right mix of confusion, revelation and reward. The cut scenes where great and generally I was horrified in the right way. In terms of the video it might have been better to deiterlace the footage, but it also had it's charm as it was. Great work
Simple, beautiful and classy. It's a really well pulled of concept. Made my brain feel nice up until it didn't. Got Metro vibes in a good way. Audio is excellent. Nothing bad to say. KUDOS
Congrats on your place. Well deserved
Simple enough and well put together. It felt a little flat to play. Maybe a bit of juice in the movement so that it swings a little. I found it very tricky to do much about being shot. Kinda just had to take it. The alignment for dropping and picking up stuff did not quite feel in the natural place. I intuitivly put myself where it felt right but it was wrong. All that aside it was well put together and explained and I had fun. Good work.
It's great. Informative, simple and direct. I am pleased you made it and I thought it was sensitivly handled. KUDOS
the loop worked pretty well. There are some frustrations. It took ages for the first items to appear, long enough to start thinking it had broken. The hit box felt a bit punnishing. I was 'missing' pick up quite often and it was enough to break the spell. That quickly meant that it felt more of a chore than it needed to be. I packed pleanty of boxes and got some spice delivered so that's a win!
Loved it. Really great art style. It felt very complete. The challenges were difficult and nicely balanced. Had a bit of everything. KUDOS
I liked the idea and the bouncing felt good. My big frustration was the lack of feedback when you have got hold of a box or not. It did not grab always when I thought I had and this started to get annoying. A simple animation / colour change to show a box was grabbed would have helped a lot. The various levels and how they changed was great. Lots of good work here.
I loved the little touches, dancing cow etc. It was a nice map and artstyle. The controls where fine but the general flow of the game was a bit jumpy. Maybe it was the camera I am not sure. With a little bit of refinement it would have made this entry feel slicker. Minor really. Lots good here and I was very pleased to have played this one.
I really enjoyed the balance of the game loop. It was simple but challenging. Everything worked as intended. I thought it played great and looked great. What more could I ask for?
This was a nice take on the theme. The tension was really cool, get off and back on again. It was a fter a time a little too punishing. I think a wider view so that you had a little more room for error would have been worth it. A nice game loop with lots of potential for development. Good work
@tetracold thanks. Don't worry the ratings will come. Work has been hectic. Turns out a 72 hour jam was really bad prep for the week I've had. I will hit it hard over the weekend
@schwede thanks for the tips and feedback. I really enjoyed your stream
Very clean mix of the 2 genres. I thought everything worked well and was polished enough. It could have been frustrating but actually felt nice and slick. Good job.
Lots going on here and handled well. I enjoyed and played it for much longer than I thought I would when I first got started. Solid effort.
Really solid as ever. I enjoyed the challenge of it. Plenty of room to develop it further and totally worth doing. Solid entry. When I had lots of towers on screen at once the sound started glitching but I expect that's an easy fix.
MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BRRRRRAAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNN HHHHHURRRRTTTTSSSSS! I really liked it for being original and well put together. Good entry and well done for tackling something hard to access!
Excellent. It kept me gripped for a long time. Congratulations
As a collector of dice, or a dice gangster as I prefer it termed this game ticked all of my boxes. Genuinly challenging and fun. Good job.
Great, frustrating, flap
Once I got my head around the shield mechanic it was really well implemented. Good entry well done.
I really enjoyed it, defo worth taking to the next level.
I love a bit of personal maze time, as it grows so does the challenge. Simple idea made well. I think it would benefit from being sexed up a bit.
Made me play more than once! I thought it was a pretty slick effort and the pop was indeed satisfying
Complicated honest fun. I thought it was a well rounded and finished entry. I like the monochrome treatment too. Good job
@adsilcott Thanks for your comment. I will continue to make it, there is so much on my list still to do. I am intending to make all thrusters switchable and for the weapons to be fired manually - time got the better of me. I am continuing to work on it and will post something closer to my intention when it gets done. Most of the work is done, it's just the correct implementation to do. Should the craft have limited steering when the Rudder is off in addition to the thrusters? I am on the fence as to whether to give some minor control and would value your opinion. Ta
@gonutz All fair points. I ran out of time to do so much of what was intended and just had to put it out as it is. Flawed it is. I am working on finishing what I had intended and will post a post comp version when I can. It will make sense by then.
I feel your pain of not being able to fix the problems. My own had such potential and so much not done in time. I enjoyed this so far and hope you continue to work on it.
I liked it, it worked well. It would be interesting to expand it as I think there is potential.
Simple blood sucking, paper delivering fun.
Polish and publish, this is a winner. I would add 2 player competitive climbing into the mix. The possibilities are endless!
Sliiiiiiiick. Loved the styling, music was great. Solid solid game.
Well done. Really solid. I liked the brush strokes and the complexity build up. Sounds good too. I wish I had got mine to this level of completeness!
Gooooooooaaaaaal
I loved the music and the art direction. I found the camera control really frustrating and would have preferred a simple following camera. Plenty of potential in it though.
I really enjoyed this entry. I really enjoyed the transfer of the letters onto the targets. I thought it was slick and satisfying well done.
