I like the mood, but I hope we can change the direction of attack without moving. When an enemy appears in unexpected places, I can't attack them without approaching them.

I like the overall style of the game. The graphics were charming at the atmosphere was really well done. Swinging the wrench felt a bit off though and It was really finnicky to actually hit things. It also seemed like there were way too many security robots that spawned, not sure if thats because of anything that I was doing though. Overall I though it was pretty good.
I like the mood, but the attack system is weird.
Pretty much the same as what other people are saying: the mood is top notch and I really like the unique interpretation of the theme. It's just the attacking system that makes it difficult to play.
Atmosphere and art style are awesome. i agree with the others that attacking and enemy design would need some adjusting to make the gameplay more enjoyable instead of frustrating. Maybe less enemies? Nonetheless really good entry :)
Was nice to explore the rooms and maze, though same thing, what others say - weird attacking system.. Overall, had fun playing!
I liked the style and the mood. Same feedback though, the enemies were too aggressive too quick.
Concise and cool,but it's s a little bit difficult..
The mood of the game is good, I don't like that to change the attack direction, I have to move in that direction, I can't just press the key near the wall. Otherwise the game is a complex maze and I have to say that I think everyone got lost there :)
I was a bit lost, and the controls aren't very snappy, but I figured it out eventually!
I liked the scale of the artwork you used. I worked well. I really missed some audio. Good job though
Thank you for your review of our game, really enjoyed this. Quite tough, I died a few times, but really enjoy the visuals and restricted field of vision. On my end at least there was no audio, would have been nice to have some to know when you've been attacked/robots have been called.
@benslaney Thanks for the nice comment! Yeah, sound design was the last task on my list and I kinda rushed it... I didn't think about putting sfx for when you're attacked or if there were robot nearby. It would have been a nice addition.
Kind of confusing, I got stuck at the start after getting a hold of the wrench but with that being sad very good mood and the simple graphics really worked well with your game.
Mood was really good, attacking felt a little random since I could not foresee where I will attack, but I like the style and idea!
The graphics and mood were nice, and the controls were easy to grasp. My only issue is that you have to move to change the direction of the attack. Overall, great game!
First of all, custom game engine gang high five :hand_splayed:
The game reminds me more of Adventure than anything else, there is something about walking in quiet, dark rooms that make this game so fun to play, I didn't manage to finish it but I'm bad at video games (heck, I managed to beat our own game only once :) ).
The idea is really original too, keep it up!
Doesn't load under Firefox, I get a uniform dark gray image, and this error in the javascript console: ``` SyntaxError: missing ; after field definition sfx.js:36:1 SyntaxError: fields are not currently supported screen.js:3:4 TypeError: Illegal constructor.[Learn More] game.js:16:23 Game https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/html/2798569/game.js:16
It works under Chrome, though. The gameboy-zelda feeling is nice, here are two easy improvements that would IMHO bring a lot of value:
1) use a non-uniform picture pattern for wall tiles : otherwise, they can be hard to distinguish with a darkened floor tile.
2) add a (short) sound FX (a simple beep sound will do) on *any* interaction with an object : it wasn't clear if the messages were appearing on the console on the right as a consequence of me pressing the interact key, or if they were appearing on their own.
@ace17 That's a super weird error. Here, the game works on Firefox and Chrome. What OS do you use? Thanks for your comment anyway, I agree with what you said it would have been better for the game.
I like the general tone of the game and the stylistic choices. Controls were ok even though I had some problems moving around with distinct button presses instead of just holding the button down. Sometimes, inputs were ignored, but that's a minor issue. Other than that, I had problems knowing what to next. The randomly moving robots didn't really help in those enclosed spaces. It was way to hard to get by without getting damaged randomly. Would've been nice to have some way of avoiding damage other than pure luck.
All in all, an interesting entry that could use some improvements in regards of user guidance (at least a little and for me :)) Just running around aimlessly get's frustrating pretty fast. Especially when you die after a while by chance. The mood would also improvce from fitting music and more sound effects. But that's not something one can expect from a single person project! Keep it up
Fitting the theme perfectly if i may say that. I will try to divide my opinion in 2 major aspects : gameplay and art. From the artistic aspect, the game is only lacking music to be honest, but it looks really nice and really creates the atmosphere you were going. The green color dominating, the pixelated and sharp movement, the computer output on the right side, the dim light. It really comes nice toghether to create this atmosphere that you really feel like you have no ideea what you are doing and hope you don t screw up. Gameplay wise the game is pretty straigth-foward but fits the theme really nice with the stuck in a command loop computer. I was really impressed by ( have no ideea if it is true or just my impression ) spawning of the enemies everytime the pc gets stuck on a line. Overall i really like the game and can say that you really did a superb job. Keep it up mate and go forth and create a full blown game out of this concept. Nice job.
Very nice simple entry  it has a nice nostalgic feel to it :thumbsup_tone1: and it's a relatively simple idea that's well executed

I wanted to give elaborate feedback because I liked the game vibe a lot but then I read @zepimppotatoe comment and it is 100% what I had in mind. I will just add it would be even better with a bit more event feedback sounds (for exemple when being hit by a robot). Overall super cool entry, especially knowing you were alone on this project. Really really good work.
I like 2d puzzle games like this one a lot, and you really did land on a great mood for the theme. It was a bit difficult to understand what to do, and the randomly spawning robots were extremely difficult to deal with. I figured out that you can hit them with the wrench, however I never really got the hang of it since I couldn't control which direction the wrench shot. I didn't manage to finish the game, I tried 3-4 times, but kept dying from all the robots in the enclosed spaces (as previously mentioned)
I thought the sound effects were ok, and I liked the aspect with the map and figuring out where to go, for a 2d puzzle game made by one person in such a short time I actually think this is great. However, some more help with what to do and maybe dialing back the robots (or changing from random spawning to placing them out) might have helped some with the experience :)
Solid game, I felt very tense trying to get back to the supercomputer for the last step with only a couple of lives left!
Found it a bit tricky to begin with but got the hang of it eventually!
I didn't figure out how to continue after inserting the data disc... I like the idea, but couldn't play to the end. Combat is sloppy and I think the game would work without it.
Nice game, but I do agree with a lot of other players that the wrench swinging could be better.
A pretty fine game with vibes of old classic games.
Aight, lets start with some spell check!

**1st try** Completely missed the map prompt and ran up until got the wrench. Then I started wondering what the first item was and how to use it. First restart...
**2nd try** Oh yeah, now I can use the map. Cool! Run up to the wrench again and then completely forget that pressing space was a thing. Run around the first few rooms desperately trying to hit everything with the wrench. Then by some fluke hit space on the supercomputer and remember that oh yeah, space exists. Back to the switch and continue on. Oh cool, those enemy bots the intro warned me about. :scream: Psh, no problem at all, my wrench is op as heck hitting through walls/corners and so on. :wrench: Got to the room with black squiggly line walls and it was absolutely filled with bots. Met my end there, these bots are no joke when encountering them on closed spaces because you can't really control your swing direction that well.
**3rd try** Do a full loop. Heck, no punch card. Oh here again, lets investigate the map. Boss room and archive are the target. But can't access them.
**nth try** Just repeating the same stuff over and over again with no luck on finding the punch card or getting to either boss room or the archive. Getting really frustrated about the combat too. The room with the computers that can be turned off seem to hold some significance but no luck with it really. Some doors (I think mainly the starting room ones) were also acting weird, not always being open even though I think I was doing the same thing each time. And here is where I need to give up!

Really digged the visuals. Super simple yet charming. Color palette was pretty eye pleasing to look at. The sounds were also fine but just too few effects. And obviously the lack of music didn't really help in that department either. Sound is one thing that really could have sold the scariness of the enemy bots too. Also some visual feedback would have been needed to emphasise getting hit and hitting enemies. Something like color flashes, particle effects, screen shake and so on.
Anyways, good job! Too bad I didn't get to finish it...
A solid game with a neat conecpt. The graphics are suitable and fit together.
general works pretty good. Well Done
So, it turns out this game has some bugs when you restart after dying. In particular, the door to the Archive remains closed, which is probably why people have been getting stuck after the data disk. Less critically, this also results in being able to turn off the computers early, and while the door from the Data Room to the Computer Room opens, the doors within the Computer Room remain closed (including the one back to the Data Room) depriving you of shortcuts.
Once I figured that out and started reloading the page every time I died, I was able to progress further and eventually beat the game.
