Really nice and simple game. Had a lot of fun playing. Keep going.
How did you manage to do all this alone in such a quick amount of time? It's awesome and funny and i don t even know what to say. I made a game with the same mechanics but yours is so much better from the art style to the way the controls feel. Good job mate. You really did a fantastic job. Well done.
@etch-light-studios Thanks a lot for feedback, we tried our best work on all the parts of the game but graphics were our worst point. None of us is decent at drawing and we didn t know abut 2D Lighting and other things when we did the game. But thanks a lot for feedback and we will try our best to do even better next time.
Nice "Game Jam" you got here ( :krappa: ). I am saying it like this cus mate this sure is no game jam game. It feels too polished and really well made. The pixel art is on point, from the colour pallete to the sprites and the way the game looks. I really cannot believe this was made in such a short amount of time. I expect games like this on steam with a pricetag of 5-10$ not in a gameJam. It s not really my type of game but still got me hooked for quite some time. You really did a nice work and I am waiting now to see this in my recommanded games on steam. Go on, make more games like this, publish them, what you waiting for? A last thing i want to add because i saw someone else point this out. The difficulty of the game is beyond your average player to be honest. It s really hard. Even with that nice introduction tutorial in the start, it still feels hard. But, now this is quite a big but, it s not a flaw of the game. The difficulty of the game as long as it's not unfair hard because of some non-sense it's not a flaw. This is your vision of the game and the way it should feel so it s exactly as hard as it should be. Nice work mate and cheers. Have fun further into the jam and hope to see your game on some market, be it pc or mobile!
Tested the game and holy god it s something else. I really did not expect something like this and the way it worked with the theme. The souless HR worker that does the same few things for hours and hours without stopping. You really pushed the theme to another level and you hit so hard with this game. While i was playing i really started to feel like i'm an HR worker and at that point i was like " I need to stop! " Cheers mates, you really did your job really great and got yourself such a nice game in so little time. I am ready to see what you can do when you are not constrained to only a weekend!
Fitting the theme perfectly if i may say that. I will try to divide my opinion in 2 major aspects : gameplay and art. From the artistic aspect, the game is only lacking music to be honest, but it looks really nice and really creates the atmosphere you were going. The green color dominating, the pixelated and sharp movement, the computer output on the right side, the dim light. It really comes nice toghether to create this atmosphere that you really feel like you have no ideea what you are doing and hope you don t screw up. Gameplay wise the game is pretty straigth-foward but fits the theme really nice with the stuck in a command loop computer. I was really impressed by ( have no ideea if it is true or just my impression ) spawning of the enemies everytime the pc gets stuck on a line. Overall i really like the game and can say that you really did a superb job. Keep it up mate and go forth and create a full blown game out of this concept. Nice job.
Played it for quite some time and my god how hard did i try to win the game, but managed to do it in 370 seconds. Nice game, it really goes well with the theme and it does what it has to do, be fun. The core mechanic of the game really is well made, and the fact that there are so few questions makes it possible to answer them in such a quick fashion. You could have different levels, each with different questions and things like this. The few weird questions really took me by surprise like the one with the wall of china and the sun. They are funny, i guess you could add a lot of pop culture references here as well or just plain joke-questions. Really nice game and hope to see more of it! Cheers and good luck dude!
I liked the game but it felt a tad to frustrating. And i didn t understand at first what was happening. Sometimes i lost hp when i got hit, sometimes not. Sometimes i got hp for some reasons. Anyway, it really felt nice and really liked the "umbrealla" sound effect. The best part is the graphics and music. They really feel well made and polished. The gameplay could use some improvements. Also, the room with projectiles coming from the dudes in robes is not that fair. You spawn in the center but the dudes also instantly start shooting so you always take at least 1 damage everytime you enter the room. All around nice game and hope to see a more polished version of it in the near future.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. Indeed we did not have enough time to fully end the story like we wanted and we know about the order of interactions but we hope to fix all of these in a future update. We will try the Yarn Spinner once the jam is over. Hope you will check back the game when we will release a full version of it. Follow us on itch.io to get notified. Cheers!
@mihaiiii Thanks a lot for the feedback. We hope to continue the story further and fix all the bugs but after LD is over. You can always follow us and check the game again when it s fully fledge.
@fraxle thanks a lot for the input and that you chose to play our game. It means a lot for some starters like us. Thanks.
@toasteater Thanks a lot for trying our game and yes, we want to continue the story and maybe have a fully playable game after ld is over. Thanks.
@melon-spirit We didn t have enough time so the title screen was something we did as fast as we could so we compromised between the looks and time spend on it. About the fog, we first wanted to make some pixelated fog generator or something dynamic but after a few tries we just accepted the fact that we had not enough time so we went with just static sprites of smoke overlapped.
@theseusinabottle Nobody likes cliffhangers. We had the whole story planned out on our whiteboard but sadly the time was too short for our team to be able to make the whole game. We are happy that we managed to get a working build up and running with the first scene completed.
@nailuj29-gaming Thanks for the feedback dude. You rock!
@blobo We appreciate every input we get. We really wanted to make a dark rainy mood detective style game and we glad that we got that across. We got inspired by games like " The last door " and " Darkside Detective "
@rizekcajk Yeah, we had kinda a lot of bugs and quirks that we had not enough time to repair so we just said live it as it is and see what the public says. Thanks for trying our game.
@kharath Thanks a lot for pointing out the good and the bad things about it. Yeah, we didn t have enough time to complete it, and it was our first game we did as a team so we had to learn a lot from eachothers and how to cooperate. Thanks a lot anyway for the input and we hope to make somoething even better after and maybe release it somewhere.
@shubart No, thank you for playing the game and giving us a chance! You rock dude!
@indieronin Sorry, we are quite new to this and do not quite know how, i think it something to do with unity build?
@kaafirookie Thanks a lot for the input and indeed, we know some things can be improved, some things fixed and other such tasks but we did not manage to do it in the remaining time. Thanks for trying our game and hope you check our game when we will release a full version not just a demo like this. And about the story, i will say a sneak peak, when you enter the bar, the detective should have said "Hey, batman?", then batman would appear and the detective be like "Ah sorry, typo, i meant barman" and the batman would transform in a barman. Thanks dude and be sure to follow us!
@fachscahfttf Yes, the game is quite far from calling it finished. We did what we could to prove the ideas we had and the main mechanic of the game. Happy to see that you liked it anyway and try to follow us if you want more. We will upload a full version when all it s done. Thanks.
@gonzalol Yup, we hope we can finish it too! Be sure to check it out when you see it! Thanks for the feedback dude! Cheers!
Ok, i managed to get just under 60 seconds. My god was this game such a blast. I feel guilty for liking it but I cannot deny that it was fun. The first time you catch the rope with one hand and all the music starts blasting with the rainbows and fish everywhere makes you burst out in laughter. Nothing much to add. Perfect game as it is right now.
Really nice little game to start your children on the "GAME DEV CARRER". If they are so eager to do it now, i really think they will be such great devs later in life. Chears and help them become the next team cherry!
Given that you managed to create the game from scratch without any engine it's an achivment on it s own so you should pat yourself on the back and go on and create some more. I really think you should have put up a warning about the flashing of the screen cus it might be quite troublesome for others. As a sidenote i really don t like the fact that you just have to wait in that pit because i managed to get in that frame quite a few times and feels like it slows down the pace of the game a lot. Nonetheles, keep up the work and see you in the future man.
Played your game for some time and really liked it. It s impressive the artstyle you managed to get going in such a short time. You really did an awesome and quite enjoyable game. Good job mate. The core mechanic of the game, not just that it fits the theme perfectly, it s so fun and so satisfying to finish every level. The jump ability also is quite a nice addition that i have not seen in any other game that is like yours, so it kinda makes it pretty special. Seeing as there are already 20 levels in the game, i can just upload it anywhere and call it a full game. Pretty sure that if you put a 2-3$ price tag, people would pay it like it is now. Cheers and have fun making games like this, you really are doing something great. Hope to see your games on a market in the future.
It really is a nice game. It s really nice moody with the music and sounds. My only problem is the fact that once you die you restart the whole game and the collision boxes not being right perfect means you restart the game a lot. As a sidenote : i don't really understand how the doors works. You move between past and future. If you open the door in the past yeah i understand how it makes the door also stay open in the future. But if you open it in the future why all of the sudden does it also open in the past?
Overall really nice game and like it, but i think the death should be a little bit more forgiving.
Nice game, loved the artsyle, it suits perfectly the game. It s fun and the game makes you play more and more to see the mails you get. Would be nice a little bit more activities and a way for you to upgrade the way you move or something like that. I know it s a time loop but maybe you can remember between the loops and train yourself to move faster or something like that. Nice game overall, really keeps you on your toes on where is the next problem and how fast can i get there. Keep up the nice art style and gameplay and you might have a little gem on your hands. Cheers!
You made me pull out a pen and a piece of paper to be able to go further in the game. I started drawing the maps on my paper and doodle - ing where i go. Really nice game, really polished and really well made. The artstyle and the music is just spot on. It looks and sounds exactly like it should. You really did a great job in the artistic department of the game. Gameplay wise is just mind breaking. You really have to stop and think what you are doing, how did the map look and what should i do now? The best part i think is just how you die everytime the first time you play a level. You are like let s us see, do i go into another mob, do i just walk past the exit, do i just walk in a wall for 5 minutes straight or the classical spike pit? And should the moments where you stop mid-game and go like " Hmm, was it one more step to the left or am i too far? "
Really nice and you did a great great job. Hope to see a fully fledge game out of this demo and see it released on steam. Cheers and good luck / have fun.
Really loveed the game. The flow, the music, the shooting, all about it. I fiind it funny that if you move fast enough thru the rooms you can actually see the rooms spawning. I mananged to end my best run in : 02:22. I cannot say anything else besides really nice game. It feels amazing playing from music to movement with the dash to everything. The only thing i can recommend is make moooooore! It s awesome. I will follow you closely and will wait for an update. Keep up the work and go fourth.
Ok, by luck i managed to get to 7 laps while just running without shooting anything but couldn't make it past that after. Would really be nice some kind of evolution? Like maybe being able to upgrade your weapon like fire faster or fire 2 shots at once or more efficient power wise. Nice, simple game that got the theme right and managed to do it quite simple. Not the biggest fan of the artstyle but i guess it get s the job done. Good luck further down your carrer as a side jam game dev, you might become one if you really like it cus it seems like you are able to do it. Anyway, cheers and hope to see games like this on mobile with lots of different hats and colors. I believe you can do it. Cheers mate!
The game is just the perfect representation of one funny ideea everybody had when we heard the theme. "Can we just do while(true){ print("Stuck") }?" Everybody laughed, we all took it in as a joke and then this guys shows up and he s like " Wait? What s wrong? I can actually make a game from that! ". And the dude did it. It really nice and the game feels fun to play. When we had this idea we also thought about being able to add brakes, add returns, change conditions and stuff like that, but the core mechanic is really nicely done. Good job dude and hope to see more levels, a little bit more polish and who knows, maybe make a mobile game out of it? I mean i would play the heck out of it. Cheers and keep up the work, you doing super great!
Really nice clicker game i must admit. My only complains are that : 1 . The graphics are really kinda bad. If you did manage to get some free assets or pixel draw some cows or something like that i would be sure the game would have been a lot more pleasant. 2 . I know this is just a bug and that is no way your fault, it s mostly the time in which you are forced to complete the game but i got a weird bug in the latest version i found on itch.io that would made the upgrades not work properly. I couldn t bring thru the portal any cows, any farmers anything. And my timer would almost everytime dissapear when it went below 1 minute.
But in rest, the game is really great and enjoyable. I found it very funny and you got the theme really on point. Good job man for this. You can just make some assets and publish it on Android store and i am pretty sure you can get a lot of people to play it. Nothing more to add only that you did a superb job gameplay wise. Really nice, you deserve a pat on your back. Cheers and hope to see a version for mobile sometimes in the future.
Really nice picture but i just cannot open the game. I think some files are missing or something got corrupted when you did the build. Try to do another build, zip it up then upload it again. Hope I can try your game. Will check again tommorrow to see if it works. Goodluck in trying to make it.
It s the kinda of game that you hear the concept and you are like " Why would anyone do that? " but then this dudes came and they were like " We would do that! ". And good thing they did. Really nice game and i really liked the background music and the 2D characther in a big 3D world. P.S : you fucked with my head hard at first when i did 4 lefts in a row and i didn t get to the starting room but instead got to another room. I was like wait what? is this some non-euclidian game? Nice job anyway. Good luck in future and hope to see an update to this game.
After a few tries, i managed to escape but to be honest i didn't even know you can escape. I must admit i feel like it's more of a walking simulator and i thought that your job was just to walk thru the castle and light the fires. I cannot deny that it's not enjoyable. The artstyle combined with the confusing map and background music really create a mood in which you get sucked in quite easy. The artistic side of the game is top notch. From the pixel art to the sounds and the feel of the game. Feeling permantly lost and not being sure if you should go up or down or go more to the right to find another staircase. I thought the game was randomly generated but i am not quite sure about it. The only downside that i can think of is that there needs to be something more dynamic into the game, not just the time. If you replaced the time with a map that you can draw on, like you start with a blank paper and draw on it as you go further, or some kind of run, or who knows even an occasional hint i think the game would be even better. Anyway, splendid game and hope the best for you. Really nice game, nice atmosphere and enjoyable sim. Cheers and good luck in your hobby!
Ok, i must admit that playing this game gave me a weird portal vibe. You are in a lab and do the same thing over and over and over but all of a sudden you find a bug in the room and somehow you escape and destroy the lab. Really liked the game and it feels nice and fresh. You went hardcore for the theme which is quite nice and the fact that it makes you go like " Hmm, i wonder how many lines did he write for boxes? " You really did an awesome job and it feels liked a finnished game, not a game jam one. Short one indeed but an end product. I hope to see a part 2 or something along those lines. Will follow you closely dude. Cheers and have fun further in your game dev hobby.
Really nice game you mananged to get working in such a short amount of time. To be honest, horror games are not really my type but it got me a little bit hooked due to the mood it managed to create. My criticism would be that i feel like the movement speed of the character could have been a little bit faster but i guess it might ruin the atmosphere. The music and the art are really on point and really do make the game feel polished. I was not a big fan of the mirror scary jump but i guess that s just the way most scary games are now. Keep up working on games and hope to see you at a indie convention with the sequel!
I played this game and yeah, there are some bugs or things like that but it s a gamejam so those are to be expected, but man was this game a refreshing. Art wise, the game has almost basic 3d structures, the colors are on point for the game but not something to write home about, but the music, the music is just the cherry on top of the cherry. It s really on point and it s so nice and feels like it fits the game somehow so good. It s really nice game with a really nice mood and atmosphere. I repeat, the music really made the game feel a lot better. Cheers and have fun creating games. You really did something nice here.
Really short. It's a nice game but the movement seems really slugish. The fact that is just one level with no ending or something like that feels like it s more like a project that you started but felt to tired to finish it. At least you got the theme right so like to that!
