I really liked this game, it has great graphics and sound and I love the way the music builds as you go, really good work overall, right clicking to turn the camera is a little hard to use on a browser though

Wow pretty cool! Idea with the music really reminds me of Creaks! Thank you for that, play our game too please)
Really like the art style and the 2D on 3D. Nicely done
I liked the compilation of 2D and 3D graphics, but sometimes it wad difficult because of the camera view to see the door – but it adds charm to the game
Great idea! Didn't know which tile needed to be pressed first but the game was cool!
@mumaitron that is something I noticed as well, some visual feedback would probably be a good addition. The sounds that get added are notes from a single octave but there is no way to know which tile is what at the moment. I am planning to have a look into that though!
@satacat If you use the right mouse button you can rotate the camera, I have added this to the description since I don't want to reupload it after the deadline.
It s the kinda of game that you hear the concept and you are like " Why would anyone do that? " but then this dudes came and they were like " We would do that! ". And good thing they did. Really nice game and i really liked the background music and the 2D characther in a big 3D world. P.S : you fucked with my head hard at first when i did 4 lefts in a row and i didn t get to the starting room but instead got to another room. I was like wait what? is this some non-euclidian game? Nice job anyway. Good luck in future and hope to see an update to this game.
@zepimppotatoe Thank you for your feedback! There is an entire level generator that randomizes the level every time the next room is cleared. You can read all about it in the devlog: https://torbenv.itch.io/master-of-tiles/devlog/184567/the-writhing-of-the-code
Awesome little rhythm game. Fits the theme really nice and love the graphics! The tune also was catchy and nice. Well done!
Super cool game!! Art style and music fit really well, pretty solid entry!! congrats on your game! :D
Very interesting entry! I always have a soft spot for games revolving around audio and incrementing music, and the audio was definitely the strong point of the game. The art style mixing 2D and 3D was an interesting choice, I'm curious as to why it was made, but I do like how the monochromatic styling meant you naturally focussed less on visuals, forcing your ears to pay more attention and appreciate the music more.
Gameplay-wise I found it a little dull, as there was little challenge or variation between rooms, and I would have liked to have been able to tell what button I had to press next, and I didn't like having to hold down right click the whole time.
Overall though, a solid audio entry. Well done.
@pickens-inc the art style was chosen this way because our artist felt more comfortable with 2D, she had not made 3D before but we were also having a hard time figuring out a way to make a 2D level interesting without making it a platformer.
The gameplay I totally agree is a little dull, there is a lack of feedback to the player and figuring out the purpose of the game needs a bit of work to be more obvious.
About the right clicking I can possibly just lock the camera so it follows naturally instead of needing to hold right click :)
@protagonist-kun Oh! That's my fault then, and I withdraw that comment. :) Overall, well done. You guys have a lovely little entry.
Really dig the art, i would love if the character moved a bit faster. Also i think the game bugged out after i went through a couple of rooms, i didnt need to unlock the door in a specific way.
great game with a lot of potentiel, great work. love the 2d character in the 3D environnement
I think this project is very ambitious, graphics feels a bit boring, but pretty good, actually i'm not a fan of puzzle-games, so I didn't play it too much, however I hope others will rate it highly
I think I may have missed something here... I couldn't tell which order the buttons needed to be pressed in without trial and error, one way would open the door, the other way wouldn't. The music was nice, but the loop didn't seem to build very much for me and seemed to keep going back to the basic beat - which made me think I'd done something wrong, but the doors kept opening and I kept progressing. I like the look of it and I'd like to see how it builds, but I'm afraid I've just come away a little confused.
This game has an interesting idea with potential, but as others have mentioned the gameplay is lacking at the moment. I didn't understand why the doors would open after only touching one of the floor panels. More visual feedback would be helpful.
If you continue with this, it would be nice to see the walls light up or become more lively somehow as the music does. This is one of the more unique games on here, so it would be neat to see what else can be done with this.
Nice take on the theme, and nice presentation overall. It felt like I wasn't understanding something though, it feels more like a pretty proof of concept or something? Unless I really was missing something... the sort of puzzles felt really arbitrary to me, meaning to say I don't understand the point of one after completing it. Pleasant to play though, if that was your goal I can safely say you've done it quite well.
I'm not sure if I encountered a bug, but after completing a few rooms, the signs above the door started being inconsistent, where sometimes they lit up after a button press, and sometimes not. Eventually I reached a point where the music would reset, and I couldn't figure out why. The overall mood of the game is really nice, though.
Very nice mood. I like the Mix between 2D and 3D, and the simplicity of the black and white environment. The music is sweet, and it's interesting to work on the loop with the buttons, but there's a lack of feedbacks. I didn't understand very clearly what happen when I push a button. And I think the controls could be more smooth, without a camera to manage while moving. (And hide the walls when they are too close to the camera.) But it's a nice experience :-)
