fictions 2019-10-07 08:15

That's an amazing game :D I love every bit of it <3

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 08:19

@fictions Thanks! That means a lot I'm glad you enjoyed it

ajahks 2019-10-07 08:20

Amazing concept! The art and the music were great. My biggest gripe would be with the very limiting camera view, as it makes it hard to time your falls when you cannot see the moving platforms

the-vecter 2019-10-07 08:21

Really fun game, I had a bit of trouble in the moving platforms section, but otherwise it was good. The graphics and sound effects were also great!

kessutinnu 2019-10-07 08:21

I think I'm not supposed to do that.

Oops.gif

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 08:36

@kessutinnu AH!! I thought I had fixed that its an issue of the body changing it's hit box when ducking and clipping into the elevator - though hitting R will bring you back to your last check point. Sorry about that

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 08:38

@ajahks I had a few people mention this when I got them to play test it for me. I added in a moving camera but I guess I must have left out any instrutions on it, my bad. You can look up and down by holding up and down to extend your view, despite that I hope you enjoyed the game.

n-one 2019-10-07 09:07

WOW! GOod game first of all! I stuck in one the part that i have to dodge but the games is really fun! I love the graphics with this litle guy and the music was great too! really enjoying game!

pantoufle 2019-10-07 10:50

Really good game. Congrats!

circleoflife 2019-10-07 11:36

Wow, that looks really cool. Despite the fact that this is your first LD, it is clear that you have already worked on games, since what you did cannot be done in 72 hours without a team. I would like to look at your other games if you laid them out somewhere, because this one looks unrealistically cool!

ninjacatz 2019-10-07 11:42

Interesting implementation! If there is time, I’ll go to your itch.io profile and play your other games!

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 12:17

@n-one Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it! (Theres a little secret to the dodging part you can just duck underneath all the oncoming bullets - I was struggling with that part myself so I added that in)

@circleoflife Hey thanks thats quite the compliment - I made everything excepet the music myself and though this is my first Jam, I have been making games for the past couple years if you want to check out some of my other stuff my itch.io page is: https://joellikespigs.itch.io/ (I personally recommend Just passing a game I made last october for the #Devtober hashtag)

@ninjacatz Thanks! It's been really encouraging seeing peoples responses to everything. I mention it above but I think my best game is Just passing another game I made last october It was made in less than a month and can be played in the browser.

gustav-andersson 2019-10-07 17:02

The art is amazing, I get inspired to learn how to draw pixel art like that :) Interesting to just have some move abillities in the beginning. It makes it more difficult because I have to think more about when to jump for example. I'm glad I played it, good work!

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 18:18

@gustav-andersson Thanks gustav that means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it

julien-kuhn 2019-10-07 18:57

That was really fun ! I liked a lot the waiting animation, the character is so cute. I would love to play an entire game like this ;)

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 19:01

@julien-kuhn thanks Julien I'm glad you liked it. The waiting animation was a last minute addition so I'm glad someone enjoyed it

bredera 2019-10-07 20:17

Awesome art style, the gameplay feels responsive, the sounds are great. Great job!

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 20:28

@bredera Thanks! I was worried my sounds felt a little too goofy, I'm not much of a music guy so I'm glad they turned out well. Thanks for trying out the game and I'm glad you enjoyed it

skalex 2019-10-07 20:30

This is an incredibly well made and well polished game that I would definately pay to see more of. The graphics and especially the animation is superb! THE CHARACTER IS SO CUTE! Nice take on start with nothing :)

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 20:55

@skalex thanks! Wow that's quite the compliment thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed it - I'm happy people are liking the character, the design was solely because I didn't want to animate any arms haha

fragment-games 2019-10-07 20:58

Love the art & animation!

jane-pr 2019-10-07 21:13

Hey that game taught me patience! Had a lot of fun, I love the art style, aaand that was pretty clever! Congrats!

osbooter 2019-10-07 22:09

Yeah I got that glitch where if you clip through the moving platform it changes it's movement math and I even got stuck in it, forcing a restart, but ahh I'm so glad I found your game after passing it on twitter :), real great job.

joellikespigs 2019-10-07 22:17

@osbooter Ah! That bug is a huge pain, sorry you hit it. You can restart from each checkpoint using "R". Thanks for checking the game out though I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the bugs haha

@jane-pr It's crazy how removing something we've grown dependant on changes how we play platformers, when play testing this I would instinctively try and correct myself in the air, but it all comes down to slowly being patient with platforms instead. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for checking it out.

@fragment-games Thanks! Art is my strong point compared to my coding, so I'm glad people are enjoying that. Thanks again for checking out the game

mathemagician 2019-10-07 23:34

Aside from the elevator clip bug, this was a super entertaining and very funny play through. I'm always amazed at what other people are able to get done in so short a timeframe

torcado 2019-10-08 03:18

this is wonderful! love the humor, the game is visually beautiful. very good stuff couple of bugs and weird polish things (such as the music doubling up after the elevator) as already mentioned, but mostly inoffensive especially for a ludum dare game. also the music fits perfectly. nice, fun experience :)

joellikespigs 2019-10-08 08:34

@mathemagician Ah I could have sworn I fixed this bug before I released it thats unfortunate. I swear I'll never understand how sound works in gamemaker. Glad you enjoyed it though despite that, thanks for checking it out!

@torcado Wow! Torcardo thanks for checking out my game, your stuff is always super impressive so that means a lot, again sorry about the audio glitch, not entirely sure what causes it. But I'm super glad you enjoyed it thanks again

karanveer 2019-10-08 10:00

Looks Good. Gonna try it out! and then rate it! :D

karanveer 2019-10-08 10:08

okay i liked the sound unlock and i kept on pressing space bar and then i gave up and just moved around a little and then automatically jump was unlocked...and then i kept playing and forgot i had to go back o rate now. Good Work, but could have been shorter as it starts feeling a bit repetitively lengthy after a few minutes. Although, Good work.

cyrolis 2019-10-08 10:47

You're game was really cool ! controls are intuitive, sound are good and the concept is really cool :) ! And the graphics are top ! One of my favourite for currently <3

xenoxygene 2019-10-08 13:17

Amazing work! Definitely one of the best games i've encountered!

joellikespigs 2019-10-08 13:31

@xenoxygene && @cyrolis Wow big thank yous to you both, thats a big compliment, thank you for checking out the game I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@karanveer thanks for checking out the game. I'm a little confused on what must have happened on your playthrough. The sound unlock is the first unlock, and you can only move left for a large amount of the game, jump shouldnt unlock automatically either, its unlocked in the first real area at the beginning. Is there a chance you've rated my game by mistake?

clemonades 2019-10-08 14:00

Love the visuals, the art is really good. And wow player limitations really add a challenge, I never realized only being able to move left would be so stressful. Perfect entry, great job!

romibarbosa 2019-10-08 14:01

Music, art, mechanics, everything is perfect. good job! ♥

gord10ahmet 2019-10-08 14:17

I liked it! Humorous, fun. The only thing I didn't like is waiting too much when we die.

designernap 2019-10-08 14:19

Ok, this is excellent. This is my favourite entry so far. Top marks all round from me. Great entry!

joellikespigs 2019-10-08 14:33

@gord10ahmet Thanks for checking out the game! Yeah the pacing can be a little painful without the ability to move right, but I'm not sure how I could fix that without just giving you the full range of movement its a tough one. Maybe if I had time I would have had some of the abilties do more interesting stuff to pass the time. like maybe an ocarina you could play songs on or something

@designernap Oh man thanks! That means a lot I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@romibarbosa Thank you! Thats awesome I'm glad you liked it.

@clemonades thanks! And I know right? play testing this was a huge pain haha

mkraw 2019-10-08 15:03

I don't think you should die if not crushed by the thing, like why do i die when I run into it

torfi 2019-10-08 15:06

This was great! Lovely art an animations especially.

joellikespigs 2019-10-08 16:19

@mkraw it's definitely because eyeball is a very sick and frail boy and not because I was rushed for time haha

It's a good critique though I should either make the stompy things have spikes on them or instead make them solid on the sides *EDIT* I just want back and added this in turned out quite easy to add - that being said the game is a million times easier with them, not sure if I enjoy it or not ...hmmm

@torfi thanks torfi glad you enjoyed it

veer 2019-10-08 16:48

Although, when I first got in, I thought it'd be boring because such control restriction games have been made before. But as I started playing I realized, that it's actually more fun than one would imagine, loved the fairy thing too haha, Graphics are well done with good polish. Overall a fun game

bearlikelion 2019-10-08 16:54

Outstanding style and feel. Got stuck on the "Careful Now" platforms, was never able to time the jump correctly.

taffyko 2019-10-08 17:05

awesome work! solid and enjoyable platformer with things shaken up with the control restrictions— and overall your graphical work was really pleasing throughout and the game clearly has a good amusing sense of humor about itself— gotta give credit where it's due, you did a good job

s-yanik 2019-10-08 17:12

Nothing to say. Really nothing nothing and nothing of nothing, but GREAT.

morilia 2019-10-08 17:30

One of the best game Imo awesome graphics, nice ld, controls are <3, cool music and sound effects BUT as I redo all over 3 times to get every "upgrade" the elevator didn't come pick me up at the 3rd "run" so I didn't get to see the end with every upgrade. Also I dodged the elevator music the first time so when I picked up the "back to normal" I got the main music played twice at the same time (after that I took the elevator music for the rest of the run, it was great XD).

dr4g0nsoul 2019-10-08 18:03

Outstanding game. Really funny and entertaining. One of the best games I played!

mmatt-ugh 2019-10-08 18:03

I love the animation and graphics, wonderful graphic design on the title aswell! It seemed to be pretty difficult immediately but not overly (only 12 deaths). Interesting level design with the restriction of only being able to move left. I really like the wide range of emotions I had in this experience (I was pretty excited to be blue, then for you to just to rip my heart out). Overall awesome work and great idea for the theme.

karanveer 2019-10-08 18:46

i've played twice, one in mooringing anad another in eve, and i die on the pinned levels always :(

karanveer 2019-10-08 19:22

and in those two sittings i kept on dying on this particular spot, in first sitting i went around 5 re tries and and second sitting i crossed approx 8 times, when you make the "leap of faith" you can't see if the bar is below you, kind of a blind spot, i know there's probability of me making it, but it's too low, :(. Perhaps you can maybe zoom out a bit at some spots like these? CAPTURELDNOTHINGGAME.PNG

tori 2019-10-08 19:40

I loved your game, the graphism are neat, the music and sound are great, so much work done in such a short time, impressive I had fun and loved the humor, and the hidden message, one of my fav game in the jam so far, well done !!

joellikespigs 2019-10-08 21:57

@karanveer thanks for trying out the game I'm sorry youre struggling with that area it is quite difficult I agree - that being said the intention of that area was to try and enourage players to mess with the controls a little (pressing up or down shifts the camera to a better view) That being said because the game never explicitly tells you about this, what I thought was obvious has come off completely wrong - I'm working on a post jam version that makes these issues and some others a little more clear. I'll have it up in a few hours or so if you're willing to try it out again

@Tori thanks! I really appreciate it and the response has been very positive so far thank you so much for checking out the game I'm glad you enjoyed it

@mmatt-ugh the elusive blue mode is not for the faint of heart haha. Thanks for checking out the game I'm glad you enjoyed it

@morilia It seems I've found a true completionist for my little game here - I didn't think anyone would want to go through all that again and collect all the power ups I'll for sure add something in the future for people like yourself. Thanks again for playing the game, I love that someone was willing to go through and try and find everything haha

@veer Thanks! The fairy is my favorite power up too haha

@jjoeyay I'm so glad people are enjoying the humor I just put in stuff that makes me laugh so I'm glad other people are also appreciating it haha

@bearlikelion I've been told this area is quite difficult and after watching someone play it today I'm working ona revision to try and make it a little more accessible. Many people have noted they weren't aware you could move the camera, as its not explained in game anywhere, this tends to help make that area much easier - I'm working on some changes to make this more obvious though. Glad you tried it out though. Thanks again

cybikitty 2019-10-08 22:23

The art style & animations are making me so happy - great work! :D

dummydojo 2019-10-08 22:38

Very fun and quirky game! Humor throughout the game is on point. The art and animation is very simple yet detailed. Extremely well put together and designed to guide the player easily. Great work! :)

raitozan 2019-10-09 00:07

I really loved your game, sure, the interpretation of the theme is pretty straight forward but this is done really perfectly, the awesome arts, cute animations (crouch <3), good level design with your restricted controls mechanic, the music is awesome too, and you all did it yourself ! Overall it felt very professional, and i really think you could go further and transform this into a whole game !

2019-10-09 05:06

A grand game indeed! A few people have done the Platformer with Missing Abilities. I'm terrible at platformers, so it was nice I was able to actually finish this one! \ Interestingly, I started with the Easy version, so I knew about the camera shift.

- I didn't see anything fancy to do with Blue Mode, and I was hoping that Elevator "bug" was a Mario type secret passage (but you can still only go right there to a point!)

- if it's humor, I get it, but I was confused by not seeing any effect from the Fairy, or Squeaky Shoes.

- Really generous checkpointing - it could have been far worse with the 3-5 lives then back to way back!

- Clever use of Left Only. I'm trying to remember if I've seen t hat again yet after playing a bunch. So the rotating platforms are simple enough in reg platforms, but then you discover you botched the angle going too far left and can't fix it!

pablotitan 2019-10-09 06:13

Really beautiful art, minimalist, yet so enjoyable to watch - nice color pallete I guess ;) Also great abilities and a well designed platformer with great controls ;)

d1gital-cuts 2019-10-09 06:33

Great game! It was fun to play, had a nice, consistent artstyle and just the right amount of content. The only problem I had in the jam version was the checkpoint placement, as they were a bit rare, which lead to some frustration.

shieldgenerator7 2019-10-09 07:25

this game was so clever!

reminded me a lot of DLC quest, but this game felt unique enough with its own style of humor.

i recognized the elevator music! "the girl from iponema" or something

the only thing i didnt like was the blind pit jumps you had to make. srsly man, im not psychic!

the permanent squeaky shoes had me laughing out loud. most hilarious "upgrade" I've ever seen in a game!

congrats on first ludum dare!

joellikespigs 2019-10-09 08:39

@shieldgenerator7 Thanks! I'm happy people are recognising the elevator music, I never knew the name of it until the day of the jam and googled "that famous elevator music" and found out haha. As for the platform placement, that's my own misjudgment and no fault to your own sorry. You have the ability to move the camera up and down - in the revised version I made it a powerup thats explicitly explained because what I thought was obvious, obviously wasn't - my own fault for not getting some play testers to try it out before I submitted it haha. Anyway glad you enjoyed it despite that.

@d1gital-cuts Hey thanks for checking it out! I'm interested in what you say about the checkpoint placement I tried to place them just before any new obstacles, was there one in particular you felt needed another one? I'm trying to revise the game a bit for a post jam version so I'd love to hear your feedback

@pablotitan Thanks Pablo, I'm really glad you enjoyed it you can't go wrong with black, white and red right? haha.

@taophoenix haha most of the upgrades are just there for humor, where as the rest are either little gibs at common game mechanics "hat unlocked" for example it's a neat thing to have in games, but when you only want to move right it becomes a little frustrating. I also needed them for a checkpoint system and figured it would be more fun than a generic flag point or something.

@raitozan Thanks! That means a lot, I realise now after I've seen some other submissions that my idea wasn't the most original, but I'm glad people are saying my interpretation is standing out, that's super positive and I'm happy about that.

@dummydojo Thanks! I didn't think I was all that good with level design so it's reasurring people are enjoying that aspect. Thanks for checking it out

@cybikitty haha squishy round characters are my Jam, glad you enjoyed it

karanveer 2019-10-09 10:30

@joellikespigs okay cool !

nightvision65 2019-10-09 13:18

Finished the game after 7 death. The level design is really cool and professional. I like it that at the end of the game you go back to the beginning and move to the right to win. I encountered a bug that when you move left in the elevator as well as crouch will make the character automaticly move to the right and get stuck in the wall. Beside that, the game is really awesome.

squeele 2019-10-09 15:04

Amazing game! Responsive gameplay, great items (except that fairy :p ), and beautiful art! Congrats!

hkspadez 2019-10-09 16:02

well done!! feels great and responsive. Though the 2nd area kind of sucks where you have to figure out the platform timing to fall down to

tricky-fat-cat 2019-10-09 16:02

I adore people who can make such thoroughly polished games like your game in 48 hours! So much little details in animations, great movement systems and nice idea, well done!

joaop 2019-10-09 16:04

Fun platformer with interesting mechanics, the graphics clearly standout, it's a very good looking game! Congrats!

foolishfire 2019-10-09 16:05

An absolutely amazing game full of charm and humor, I hope that lots of people get the chance to try this.

detectivelosos 2019-10-09 21:36

Oh god, I stated typing this comment, misspelled a word moved my cursor to fix it and for a moment felt like I have no ability to move it right. That's what your game did to me! :D

I played the postjam version and found the part with that moving platform on a chain to be extremely buggy and hard to get through. One time I even got bitten(because it kinda has a face) by a horizontally moving platform and it carried me all the way through the wall and back to the checkpoint! At first I thought that was intended, but the platform never came back through the wall to it's original trajectory until the restart.

Overall this is a quite fun game with a sense of humor. The color palette is very pleasing and that squash and stretch on the character looks really satisfying.

carsencraft 2019-10-10 04:11

Really really tight and well made. Pretty challenging, but with thoughtfully placed checkpoints it was not TOO frustrating. A well executed take on a clever interpretation of the theme into a game mechanic

le-don 2019-10-10 11:04

Well, that's the first game I played that I would call a 5 out of 5 game. Not only are music and art great, but also the controls are also very nice. Love the idea and how it adds some replay-value in a smart way.

Maybe one thing: When looking up/down, the eye could also move up/down.

bilalch213 2019-10-10 14:46

Lovely pixel art and cool shading effect. I really liked the bouncy animations of the ball character. Checkpoints are nicely placed and puzzles are decent. Overall, the game is just really good! :D

dmanzano101 2019-10-10 15:49

One of the entries with most humor this Ludum has. Amazing graphics, theme approach and game design. Great Job!

t1a2z 2019-10-10 19:18

Damn it is solid and well done! Awesome twist on the theme (I had a similar idea, but decided I don't want to do a platformer). Easily one of the best games I've seen at this jam (if not the best)! You've done a wonderful job!

zepimppotatoe 2019-10-10 20:27

How did you manage to do all this alone in such a quick amount of time? It's awesome and funny and i don t even know what to say. I made a game with the same mechanics but yours is so much better from the art style to the way the controls feel. Good job mate. You really did a fantastic job. Well done.

moonroll 2019-10-10 20:42

Very good game, thanks, rly fun to play :D

catie-jo 2019-10-10 21:05

Holy polish batman! I suck at these sorts of games, but the art was enough to make me keep going :) I can't believe this is your first jam entry--super well done! The only feedback I'd have for future games is to draw more attention to the text hints, maybe through animating their appearance and/or different placement. It took me forever to notice the "try ducking" part with the red blobs  Love love love it though; definitely one of the best I've seen so far!

joellikespigs 2019-10-10 21:26

@catie-jo Thanks! I tried to make the game as accessible as possible and not over stay it's welcome with the difficulty. I'm glad you enjoyed it - this is my first Ludum Dare but I've had some experience with game jams before so I tried to keep everything as simple as possible haha. Thanks again for trying it out it means a lot.

@moonroll Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@zepimppotatoe the trick is the limited color pallet - art and animation is pretty easy when you don't have to worry about getting the colors right - plus my character is a blob with legs solely because I didn't want to animate any arms too haha.

@t1a2z oh man thats some high praise! Thanks for checking it out that means a lot

@dmanzano101 super glad my humour is gelling with people nicely - I just put in stuff that makes me laugh and hope it hits haha. Thanks for checking it out

@bilalch213 Thanks I'm all about that squash and stretch so I'm glad people are enjoying it! Oh! also I just put up a tutorial on how to create the shading effect if you're interested in finding out how I made it.

@le-don Wow! Thanks! Thats some high praise thats awesome. Also thats great idea and something I should definitley put in - it seems so obvious now that I'm surprised I missed it I'll for sure stick that in the post jam version when I get chance.

@carsencraft thanks! I'm still a little worried that my platform placement could be better improved but it is what it is - something I could probably polish up in the post jam version when I get chance

@detectiveLosos haha! And ah! Thats a shame you found a bug with the platforms - seems like something I'll have to fix in the post jam version - it seems it's caused when a player gets lodged between two moving platforms - not too sure why it decides to fly off and place you back at a continue though - it looks super intended but it's straight up a bug...I mean feature haha. Thanks for letting me know I'll see what I can do.

@foolishfire That's such a nice comment thank you! I've had a lot of fun playing with other peoples LD entries so I'm glad people are interested in mine and genuinely enjoying it. Thanks again!

@joaop Thanks! I'm getting a lot of praise for the graphics and I feel super guilty, because it was mostly just a time saving keeping them down to 3 colors due to the LD time constraints - I'm glad people are liking them despite that though haha.

@hkspadez A lot of people brought this up - there was actually a camera shifting mechanic in the game - you could shift it up and down by pressing the up and down keys, but because I didn't explain it in game a lot of players missed it which is unfortunate - I changed it into an upgrade in the post jam version though. Thanks for the feedback

@artyom-volkov same to you I saw a playthrough of HONk yesterday and you squeezed in all sorts of things in such a short amount of time - super impressed. Thanks for checking out my game and good luck on the results

tricky-fat-cat 2019-10-10 21:36

@joellikespigs hope, you will post more interesting guides on your twitter.

gauphastus 2019-10-11 05:29

Very competently done, all around. As it is it's practically a demo for something you'd see for sale. Quality work.

jusw85 2019-10-11 06:19

Amazing entry! One of the best I've played this LD. Still can't believe you managed to design a level where you're only able to move left most of the time. Also, some of the respawn points seem to stop working after a second runthrough. Made getting all the upgrades slightly harder.

Screenshot from 2019-10-11 14-17-28.png

celdur 2019-10-11 06:34

Love the tile fade-in effect. And I too fell prey to the elevator slide. Guess I should've checked the comments.

This is a neat idea though, but I wonder how well it would work on a full scale game. After the intro, it'd probably just turn into a metroidvania of sorts. Real neat intro either way.

joellikespigs 2019-10-11 07:49

@celdur shame you had that bug, moving platforms are a pain it turns out haha. And yeah I'm curious where this would go as a full game too, Maybe a boss on defeat removes all your abilities again - but I feel like that would get old too - perhaps this game may have to live it's life as just a short one off indefinitely

@Gauphastus wow that's quite the complimenet thank you - Yeah like I said above it would be a great thing to move this into a full game at some point - but I'm a bit lost on where to take it outside of an odd repetitive loop - or maybe taking it in a different direction entirely and turning it into a roguelite or something haha

luc-dercourt 2019-10-11 07:57

A really clean entry ! Congrats !

ferdi 2019-10-11 11:59

I would totally pay to play this. The ability to move left only is disturbing at the beginning and becomes in a way super satisfying to master. Solid and fun game to play. There is no word to describe what you did here sir. Hats off !

shabbyrtist 2019-10-11 18:35

Incredibly well!

Great use of the theme! Felt very polished. Not being able to move right for a good portion of the game was harder than I would have expected. The pixel art and animation was well done and reminded me of an old NES game. Well done!

Wow! I will be honest, i am not a big fan of platformers (because i suck at them!) but this game was awesome, really creative, fits perfectly with the theme, i'm not sure what it was about the graphics but the simplicity and the desaturated coloring felt relaxing, the music was top notch, it was actually pretty funny and i was able to get to the end!

Awesome entry! Well Done!

harksa 2019-10-13 08:58

Well I have to admit that this game was really well made. The audio and graphics are adorable, and the level design is impressively well done for a game where you only move left most of the time.

I hope to see more in the future ! Keep up the good work !!

jihem 2019-10-13 12:26

I don't believe how good this game is. This is professional skill: gameplay, graphics, animation, level design... one word: perfect!

yaen 2019-10-13 15:20

12 deaths. One of my favourites so far! Blue mode is the best!!

It's really nice to see what interesting stuff can be done if your options of movement are limited in a platformer.

yazara 2019-10-13 15:43

Wow, great interpretation of the theme and great humor! Also a nice visual style :) The one thing I didn't enjoy that much was the choice of standard music (elevator music was good). And a fullscreen for WebGL would be nice!

fear-games 2019-10-13 23:32

Great game, really strong visual theme. good challenging game

frenchie 2019-10-14 01:18

Amazing game! The fact that you see the exit at the beginning and loop all the way back is so awesome  Really well done all around. If you ever make an "all unlocks" alternate ending I'll come back for another playthrough!

karlipoppins 2019-10-14 02:29

I just played your post-jam entry, what an awesome little game! nailed down every aspect of what could be a really solid platformer! With a bit more time it would have been awesome to see a bit more difficult platformer once you've unlocked all the abilities. Otherwise pretty much perfect in my book. Awesome job!

asfdfdfd 2019-10-14 20:40

I love humor and how responsive controls are. Great game. One of the best on this LD. Thanks!

danilo-freire 2019-10-15 22:55

One of the few 5stars on everything that i rated on this LD45. Your game is fu@#$ awesome! Congrats! I

silkworm-sweatshop 2019-10-16 21:12

This was sick! Feels good, looks good, sounds good, excellent theme use, perfectly paced, even got the humor down. The only complaint I have is that the respawn time is a bit lengthy. Best entry I've played so far.

pranjalbisht 2019-10-17 07:50

Ah, that was so nice and polished! Controls, movement and the camera felt really great and fluid! All the little details in the animations, oh man! Incredible work! Difficulty was a bit on the higher side but I kept trying, just to see what I unlock next(and get the damn right movement). Really wanted to go back after getting the right movement to see what things I skipped by lack of checkpoints in the area from where that's possible really discouraged me from doing that. So I just went to the exit :s

But still, this is the best platformer I've played this LD!

awesomealliterationalliance 2019-10-17 14:52

On of the best and most creative entrys I've played in any Ludum Dare event. Its extremely rare for me to give 5/5 in every category, but your game earned it! Everything is spot on! Congratz!

miu 2019-10-22 17:06

This game is awesome, but I'm really bad at it

strega 2019-10-25 06:32

Great job on your first ludum dare! Very polished platformer. Nice graphics and animations, funny upgrades, good sounds, I like that you kept moving right until late in the game, made it feel more limited longer.

jeremy-daffix 2019-10-25 21:13

I don't know how you managed to make such a beautiful, enjoyable, juicy and funny game in such little time. Genius. I have to admit I am a little jealous ;) Congratulations !

virimine 2019-10-27 13:39

This is truly magnificent! I am speechless! Gameplay is purely smart and fun, graphics are on point and beautifully made! The way you implemented the theme of the jam and your humor is also unique! I wanted to get all the upgrades but even the fact that I had to choose one and go for it (or play the game from scratch), made me want to play the game again and again! Very clever! Amazing job! Keep it up! I really want to see more of it!

aj-jones 2019-10-27 21:45

Favorite game I played this jam, felt extremely polished and fun to play!

anion-z 2019-10-28 00:34

Very nice game design, everything is responsive and animations are quick, music fits the game very well, good entry! Only problem I had is that I wished to go back to collect all the other upgrades but checkpoint did not work on the last stage

brokenmirrormedia 2019-10-28 06:36

Haha I really liked this one, it felt very polished, and the meta elements were nice, but honestly, the gameplay and the challenge of only being able to move left was pretty solid gameplay, I was really enjoying that. Great work making something both humourous, challenging, and super fun!

Screen Shot 2019-11-20 at 9.05.38 PM.png Started with nothing, finished with everything!

Honestly, this is such a great game! I wish the game went on for a little longer, but nonetheless awesome! I can't wait to see what you come up with in your next game!

It's a good game, however at one point, I got very frustrated at the moving platforms. I got to the last platform before dying and raging, I have figured out a speedrun strat, at the moving platforms you can press space to walk right a little bit.
