LD45 — Start with nothing

SOMtHINGa from NoThINGa by Jimbly 2019-10-07T16:28:53Z

This is a fantastic puzzle game, complimented with multiple audio cues so they never wear on the listener. The addition of highscores amongst players leaves you wanting to cut down on moves to get that top spot. I lost a lot of time playing this :)

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-09T16:05:30Z

An absolutely amazing game full of charm and humor, I hope that lots of people get the chance to try this.

Terra Nil - Reclaim the Wasteland by vfqd 2019-10-07T15:50:58Z

This is beautiful, the graphics, the art, the gameplay, they all come together wonderfully. The only major snag is that generating smaller levels sometimes does not make a rock, taking several restarts to get a map with one. But seeing it all bloom with green on a job well done is an amazing experience.

Idle Office Inc. by 0xkalle 2019-10-07T07:08:46Z

Very nice job! Definitely unique and I love the sound and visuals, especially with the camera panning around the office. Typing out each word feels a bit much for the what you get in return.

Blank Page Syndrome by okkolobr 2019-10-07T08:45:43Z

I enjoyed this, thought moving seemed to be a bit chaotic, which is hard when you're trying to get that last word guarded by the anxiety monsters.

@jimbly Thank you for the review. Your thoughts on it mirror my own. I would have definitely liked to have put in a way for the player to track their discoveries mid game, but I'm not sure on what the best approach would have been without taking away from whats onscreen. And morning triggering morning was an oversight on my part. The music was there to drive the player towards muting it with blocks. I debated putting it so no audio is played after the mute, but if the player finds that first they won't hear the secret.

@corrade Progression is based on making a certain word from it's group. Words are read from left to right, and must stand alone, away from other blocks. As for the dictionary, the game is only as smart as I am right now.

Hi @toasteater the music doesn't play until it has a reason to play. But certainly, if theres something that could definitely be improved, it would be keeping track of correct words and providing more of a hint to them.

Hi @corentin-sabiaux, the music seems to be working in the zipped version, it just does not play at the start of the game.

little BEETLE bottle BATTLE by AP Thomson 2019-10-08T09:01:02Z

Fantastic game. I love how it shifts from getting resources from matching in earlier rounds and getting resources during the actual battle due to lack of time, as well as planning out your map so that you hopefully avoid getting overrun with beetles. Very well done.
