LD45 — Start with nothing

NOTHING TO LOSE by Seththefirst 2019-10-07T08:18:51Z

I'm getting a 404 error on the link you provided. :( The game looks interesting in the screenshots, good luck I'm looking forward to playing it

Warden of Void by kessutinnu 2019-10-07T08:45:32Z

Nice work - I enjoyed this! I like the idea of planning out a route and a watching out for enemies. I feel like maybe more could be done with the void - like maybe it could suck up some items and spit them out in other places for example, giving you the option of say starting with nothing to cross a bridge, but taking blocks from somewhere else to build one yourself. Overall nice work! It's a good concept and clearly very polished.

Unlock Everything by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-10-09T08:58:55Z

Absolutely stunning! My game has a similar game style with starting with nothing and slowly unlocking other controls right down to the use of conveyor belts to move the character haha. However yours blows mine out of the water incredible work and you made all the music too. AH Thats genuinely amazing, For sure this one will do incredibly well. Nice work!

Outside the BOX by IcyLava 2019-10-08T14:28:34Z

Sound effects and music were great in this one really fit the mood. Controls felt super responsive and the subtle screenshake when you collided with walls was great. Loved that the colors would switch on restarts. It's a shame you didn't get to play my game earlier,

Pocketon Peak by bwalter 2019-10-07T22:09:56Z

Incredible work! Loved everything about this - I can't believe this was made in such a short time, it feels like a fully fleshed out game and I'm absolutly blown away by it! Awesome stuff!

#000000 by kevinworkman 2019-10-17T06:52:40Z

What a unique and interesting take on the theme - It took me 35 clicks to get white - Seeing the comments above it seems like it was on the lower end of attempts, I'm curious if theres a strategy to this and how the options react depending on your choices if they do at all - sometimes I felt like the game was helping me out which was nice.

Honestly I really enjoyed this, I've never played anything like it and the I love the fact you are able to share your color pallet in the end too. Good Job!

No.thing by adliberum 2019-10-08T16:30:10Z

You start with nothing and end with nothing - haha this was a fun read, nice work. I came across this because my games link was nothing-2 someone beat me to my super original name haha

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T08:19:35Z

@fictions Thanks! That means a lot I'm glad you enjoyed it

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T08:36:07Z

@kessutinnu AH!! I thought I had fixed that its an issue of the body changing it's hit box when ducking and clipping into the elevator - though hitting R will bring you back to your last check point. Sorry about that

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T08:38:17Z

@ajahks I had a few people mention this when I got them to play test it for me. I added in a moving camera but I guess I must have left out any instrutions on it, my bad. You can look up and down by holding up and down to extend your view, despite that I hope you enjoyed the game.

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T12:17:10Z

@n-one Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it! (Theres a little secret to the dodging part you can just duck underneath all the oncoming bullets - I was struggling with that part myself so I added that in)

@circleoflife Hey thanks thats quite the compliment - I made everything excepet the music myself and though this is my first Jam, I have been making games for the past couple years if you want to check out some of my other stuff my itch.io page is: https://joellikespigs.itch.io/ (I personally recommend Just passing a game I made last october for the #Devtober hashtag)

@ninjacatz Thanks! It's been really encouraging seeing peoples responses to everything. I mention it above but I think my best game is Just passing another game I made last october It was made in less than a month and can be played in the browser.

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T18:18:18Z

@gustav-andersson Thanks gustav that means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T19:01:02Z

@julien-kuhn thanks Julien I'm glad you liked it. The waiting animation was a last minute addition so I'm glad someone enjoyed it

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T20:28:34Z

@bredera Thanks! I was worried my sounds felt a little too goofy, I'm not much of a music guy so I'm glad they turned out well. Thanks for trying out the game and I'm glad you enjoyed it

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T20:55:04Z

@skalex thanks! Wow that's quite the compliment thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed it - I'm happy people are liking the character, the design was solely because I didn't want to animate any arms haha

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-07T22:17:56Z

@osbooter Ah! That bug is a huge pain, sorry you hit it. You can restart from each checkpoint using "R". Thanks for checking the game out though I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the bugs haha

@jane-pr It's crazy how removing something we've grown dependant on changes how we play platformers, when play testing this I would instinctively try and correct myself in the air, but it all comes down to slowly being patient with platforms instead. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for checking it out.

@fragment-games Thanks! Art is my strong point compared to my coding, so I'm glad people are enjoying that. Thanks again for checking out the game

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-08T08:34:16Z

@mathemagician Ah I could have sworn I fixed this bug before I released it thats unfortunate. I swear I'll never understand how sound works in gamemaker. Glad you enjoyed it though despite that, thanks for checking it out!

@torcado Wow! Torcardo thanks for checking out my game, your stuff is always super impressive so that means a lot, again sorry about the audio glitch, not entirely sure what causes it. But I'm super glad you enjoyed it thanks again

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-08T13:31:30Z

@xenoxygene && @cyrolis Wow big thank yous to you both, thats a big compliment, thank you for checking out the game I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@karanveer thanks for checking out the game. I'm a little confused on what must have happened on your playthrough. The sound unlock is the first unlock, and you can only move left for a large amount of the game, jump shouldnt unlock automatically either, its unlocked in the first real area at the beginning. Is there a chance you've rated my game by mistake?

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-08T14:33:49Z

@gord10ahmet Thanks for checking out the game! Yeah the pacing can be a little painful without the ability to move right, but I'm not sure how I could fix that without just giving you the full range of movement its a tough one. Maybe if I had time I would have had some of the abilties do more interesting stuff to pass the time. like maybe an ocarina you could play songs on or something

@designernap Oh man thanks! That means a lot I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@romibarbosa Thank you! Thats awesome I'm glad you liked it.

@clemonades thanks! And I know right? play testing this was a huge pain haha

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-08T16:19:11Z

@mkraw it's definitely because eyeball is a very sick and frail boy and not because I was rushed for time haha

It's a good critique though I should either make the stompy things have spikes on them or instead make them solid on the sides *EDIT* I just want back and added this in turned out quite easy to add - that being said the game is a million times easier with them, not sure if I enjoy it or not ...hmmm

@torfi thanks torfi glad you enjoyed it

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-08T21:57:06Z

@karanveer thanks for trying out the game I'm sorry youre struggling with that area it is quite difficult I agree - that being said the intention of that area was to try and enourage players to mess with the controls a little (pressing up or down shifts the camera to a better view) That being said because the game never explicitly tells you about this, what I thought was obvious has come off completely wrong - I'm working on a post jam version that makes these issues and some others a little more clear. I'll have it up in a few hours or so if you're willing to try it out again

@Tori thanks! I really appreciate it and the response has been very positive so far thank you so much for checking out the game I'm glad you enjoyed it

@mmatt-ugh the elusive blue mode is not for the faint of heart haha. Thanks for checking out the game I'm glad you enjoyed it

@morilia It seems I've found a true completionist for my little game here - I didn't think anyone would want to go through all that again and collect all the power ups I'll for sure add something in the future for people like yourself. Thanks again for playing the game, I love that someone was willing to go through and try and find everything haha

@veer Thanks! The fairy is my favorite power up too haha

@jjoeyay I'm so glad people are enjoying the humor I just put in stuff that makes me laugh so I'm glad other people are also appreciating it haha

@bearlikelion I've been told this area is quite difficult and after watching someone play it today I'm working ona revision to try and make it a little more accessible. Many people have noted they weren't aware you could move the camera, as its not explained in game anywhere, this tends to help make that area much easier - I'm working on some changes to make this more obvious though. Glad you tried it out though. Thanks again

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-09T08:39:49Z

@shieldgenerator7 Thanks! I'm happy people are recognising the elevator music, I never knew the name of it until the day of the jam and googled "that famous elevator music" and found out haha. As for the platform placement, that's my own misjudgment and no fault to your own sorry. You have the ability to move the camera up and down - in the revised version I made it a powerup thats explicitly explained because what I thought was obvious, obviously wasn't - my own fault for not getting some play testers to try it out before I submitted it haha. Anyway glad you enjoyed it despite that.

@d1gital-cuts Hey thanks for checking it out! I'm interested in what you say about the checkpoint placement I tried to place them just before any new obstacles, was there one in particular you felt needed another one? I'm trying to revise the game a bit for a post jam version so I'd love to hear your feedback

@pablotitan Thanks Pablo, I'm really glad you enjoyed it you can't go wrong with black, white and red right? haha.

@taophoenix haha most of the upgrades are just there for humor, where as the rest are either little gibs at common game mechanics "hat unlocked" for example it's a neat thing to have in games, but when you only want to move right it becomes a little frustrating. I also needed them for a checkpoint system and figured it would be more fun than a generic flag point or something.

@raitozan Thanks! That means a lot, I realise now after I've seen some other submissions that my idea wasn't the most original, but I'm glad people are saying my interpretation is standing out, that's super positive and I'm happy about that.

@dummydojo Thanks! I didn't think I was all that good with level design so it's reasurring people are enjoying that aspect. Thanks for checking it out

@cybikitty haha squishy round characters are my Jam, glad you enjoyed it

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-10T21:26:37Z

@catie-jo Thanks! I tried to make the game as accessible as possible and not over stay it's welcome with the difficulty. I'm glad you enjoyed it - this is my first Ludum Dare but I've had some experience with game jams before so I tried to keep everything as simple as possible haha. Thanks again for trying it out it means a lot.

@moonroll Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@zepimppotatoe the trick is the limited color pallet - art and animation is pretty easy when you don't have to worry about getting the colors right - plus my character is a blob with legs solely because I didn't want to animate any arms too haha.

@t1a2z oh man thats some high praise! Thanks for checking it out that means a lot

@dmanzano101 super glad my humour is gelling with people nicely - I just put in stuff that makes me laugh and hope it hits haha. Thanks for checking it out

@bilalch213 Thanks I'm all about that squash and stretch so I'm glad people are enjoying it! Oh! also I just put up a tutorial on how to create the shading effect if you're interested in finding out how I made it.

@le-don Wow! Thanks! Thats some high praise thats awesome. Also thats great idea and something I should definitley put in - it seems so obvious now that I'm surprised I missed it I'll for sure stick that in the post jam version when I get chance.

@carsencraft thanks! I'm still a little worried that my platform placement could be better improved but it is what it is - something I could probably polish up in the post jam version when I get chance

@detectiveLosos haha! And ah! Thats a shame you found a bug with the platforms - seems like something I'll have to fix in the post jam version - it seems it's caused when a player gets lodged between two moving platforms - not too sure why it decides to fly off and place you back at a continue though - it looks super intended but it's straight up a bug...I mean feature haha. Thanks for letting me know I'll see what I can do.

@foolishfire That's such a nice comment thank you! I've had a lot of fun playing with other peoples LD entries so I'm glad people are interested in mine and genuinely enjoying it. Thanks again!

@joaop Thanks! I'm getting a lot of praise for the graphics and I feel super guilty, because it was mostly just a time saving keeping them down to 3 colors due to the LD time constraints - I'm glad people are liking them despite that though haha.

@hkspadez A lot of people brought this up - there was actually a camera shifting mechanic in the game - you could shift it up and down by pressing the up and down keys, but because I didn't explain it in game a lot of players missed it which is unfortunate - I changed it into an upgrade in the post jam version though. Thanks for the feedback

@artyom-volkov same to you I saw a playthrough of HONk yesterday and you squeezed in all sorts of things in such a short amount of time - super impressed. Thanks for checking out my game and good luck on the results

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-11T07:49:41Z

@celdur shame you had that bug, moving platforms are a pain it turns out haha. And yeah I'm curious where this would go as a full game too, Maybe a boss on defeat removes all your abilities again - but I feel like that would get old too - perhaps this game may have to live it's life as just a short one off indefinitely

@Gauphastus wow that's quite the complimenet thank you - Yeah like I said above it would be a great thing to move this into a full game at some point - but I'm a bit lost on where to take it outside of an odd repetitive loop - or maybe taking it in a different direction entirely and turning it into a roguelite or something haha

Bartered by Aycan 2019-10-06T21:43:20Z

It's an interesting concept - I was a little confused at first but eventually the game sorta grew on me - I did feel I got stuck a few times though, either stuck with an item I couldn't trade for a profit, or with an item no one would accept

Gecko's Cabinet by JustMars 2019-10-08T15:01:21Z

Interesting concept - I played through it a few times trying to see different endings, was the "good" ending paying your debts though? I felt because it said I was lucky that perhaps I missed an option but most of the others resulted in me dying of depression or selling my soul.

Still had fun playing with it though and considering the time you had to make it its very impressive. Well done! The music really nailed the atmosphere too, nice work.

My Friends Abandoned Me by SaRNEh 2019-10-06T22:27:02Z

A lot to unpack here. First of all the graphics are great, I'm a little lost on how this is related to the topic but, it has nice atmosphere and it looks very polished for the short amount of time youve had to spend on it. That being said the main game loop of gathering boxes to stack higher is hugely flawed due to how janky the physics end up being. I was able to beat the game with 5 boxes by getting them to float in mid-air. And stacking boxes itself is can be a real pain, because pressing E picks up the box you're standing on instead of just dropping the one you're currently holding. But it is what it is. The enemies are creepy and are well animated, I love the foggy aspect and if the bugs where ironed out it would be the start of a fun short game.

Better than nothing by Fictions 2019-10-07T08:33:02Z

Really well made! Nice job man - incredible work with the leaderboards, thats a great idea and very impressive to get working for a Jam. I got around 2400 points, I was a little confused at first with what each item was doing and what I was supposed to be doing, but thats the nature of the design and after slowly unlocking upgrades it all became much more clear. Great work! You really nailed the theme

Sosig by Mors 2019-10-13T08:21:07Z

REally impressive game would love to know how you did the grey to color thing that happens after collecting pickups, solid controls, fun quirky graphics, absolutely bangin' music and the SFX felt great and fit the mood really well, this game feels super content complete - reminds me of that Noid 2 Indie game that too had great controls just like this.

That being said I sadly couldn't get past the 2nd level's starting area - I tried a quite a few things before giving up. I couldn't jump up over the wall facing me, the bun was behind me but obvilously way too far to reach so that wasn't it, there was a mushroom below me but I couldn't reach that because you die if you fall too low - there seemed to be an inactive object but because it was inactive it didn't do anything. No idea what I was doing wrong *shrug* This won't effect my review at all though because really all I wanted to do was play more which is a sign of a good game to me

Sosig by Mors 2019-10-14T09:43:38Z

@mors Thats's rad! And such a simple idea I would have never thought of, awesome stuff. Also duh I hadn't realised there was a dive move. I'll go back and play some omre this afternoon - thanks for replying

March of the Gladiators by FinalForeach 2019-10-07T07:55:19Z

This game was fun! It took me a while to get to grips with how to fight effectively but once I got rolling down and backing away while fighting, the game was genuinely quite fun. The hardest part was when you started with nothing, but once the bows and swords come into play it becomes a lot easier - Nice work. If I was to offer some criticism however, because the game essentially forces you to stick with the best gear it became a situation of dodging or walkking backwards instead of experimenting - if you could do something like the weapons break after a few uses, or armor pick ups for health, or you move faster / slower with certain weapons to give more variation and force you into another tactic that would, in my opinion, make the game more interesting. Either way nice work! I liked this one

HEARTSCAPE by ZakAmana 2019-10-09T08:19:56Z

Saw your blogpost and the was immediatly grabbed by the art style and overall aesthetic, this game oozes charm and plays incredibly well. Super impressed with how balanced it felt considering the short time frame. Though I did run into a situation where I got so many evil hearts that I was down to one card for a good chunk of the final round despite adding some crystal balls. I feel like the way this is handled good be looked into if you push it further, because with one card if I ended up with another evil heart, I'd have no luck ever getting more cards in my hand.

Despite that though I genuinely loved it, I played a good few rounds picking up different cards to see how they all handled

Space Office by Celdur 2019-10-10T22:04:57Z

I'm blown away by this I've never felt so lost and confused and had so much fun whilst being so. I managed to figure out how to play galaga and check the weather and time, but never how to fix the flashing yellow light. Day 3 murdered me and I'll never know how haha, great use of the theme, super unique idea. I loved it!

The Lucky Nugget by Julien Kuhn 2019-10-07T18:17:35Z

This was a fun 10 minute clicker game, kept me playing until I got that diamond pickaxe - Though I originally thought the INN was a little overpowered but without it I wouldn't have reached the billion gold to get the pickaxe. Nice little ending, Nice work.

The nhon-nhon millionaire by Eranot 2019-10-09T20:45:11Z

I like this kind of game, it took me a couple times to win, but boy when you start winning the numbers really do increase exponentially if only real life was as easy haha. Nice work I could see this game being expanded further with more upgrades and different time limits.

Little Guardian by JUSTCAMH 2019-10-09T13:42:48Z

Super intense and pretty damn fun! Though I did feel a bit lost for a while because I wasn't aware I could jump over the central lasers I feel like this could be signafied better by having a sorta canopy or something that the lasers are attached to instead with a gap above them or something. Other than though the boss fight was super intense and took me a few tries to finish but kept me wanting to come back for more. Nice job

バクラウBloodless by Danilo Freire 2019-10-13T08:57:39Z

Great aesthetics and mood, quality gameplay that had me engaged and the game was content complete - well done! I particularly loved the transitions, the death screen was awesome! The only improvement I can think of is maybe increasing the player speed just a tad sometimes I felt a little sluggish

Also out of curiosity what does バクラウ mean? It's Katakana so I don't recognise it as something Japanese, Is it like a way of saying Background?

Either way well done, I enjuyed the game and you created a great product.

バクラウBloodless by Danilo Freire 2019-10-14T17:33:53Z

@caio-rmota That's awesome and love this little bit of Bloodless trivia. Thanks for sharing - I'll see if I can find an English sub of the movie

Ritual by Unicorn Studios 2019-10-13T08:13:31Z

Oh man! I hadn't realised you had entered! This game was great! Super moody and love your "disintergrate" effect when you destroy trees and things. The music really nailed the atmosphere - I could for sure see this being developed into a full game well done!

0-Skies : A Minute's Adventure by Karanveer 2019-10-07T20:12:18Z

I genuinely really enjoyed this - took me a few tries to get the controls down, but I had a lot of fun trying to piece together plane, I thought the sound effects could use a little more work, but the graphics were really nice, it baffles me that people can make nice 3D in such a short time. Well done.

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-10T21:00:36Z

beautiful game that's positively oozing with charm, great work and adorable character design. It's just a shame I felt like I was wrestling with the controls to actually play it. I did manage to free the crab but I never did feel like I learnt how use the climbing mechanic - but with a bit more time I feel like this game could lead into a really fun platformer / adventure game and I was fully immersed the moment the game started straight from the crab turning away from the camera on the start menu.

Also did one of the rocks have a face? I was playing this in the dark and it spooked me haha. crab scare.png

Dream of Quantum String by Ydoc124 2019-10-07T19:27:45Z

Nice little clicker game, but this one compared to others really embraces the theme and genuinly had me captivated. What was next? What was after that? I can't lie though I was a little disappointed at the ending. But then again I would have probably done the same thing. The game does become a little repetitive, but the fact you made unique music for each section was very impressive. Nice work!

Golden Retriever by Gone3001 2019-10-07T20:22:49Z

The games humor was on point and really took me off guard nice job.

itemless by NachtWitch 2019-10-09T21:19:27Z

interesting concept, the map could be clearer - I oftenfound myself getting iron instead of stone but trees stood out on the map. I was confused what the player was and what I was fighting - aliens? That being said, witha bit more polish this game looks promising. Keep at it. It's well made considering the time limit

MerchantQuest by ItsBamboo 2019-10-07T18:48:52Z

Interesting mechanic but I felt like I wasn't entirely sure of if I was playing correctly - I bought the stall at the end half expecting this was where the game would truly begin and the stuff I stole I would sell for big profit. But as a intimidation / pick pocketing game it was actually quite fun, clean graphics and music, nice work. You have the option here to expand it too, what with the "rich" area being blocked by the guards and so on.

Mr.Grind by iozsaygi 2019-10-06T21:26:41Z

Seems like the start to a fun clicker game - It needs an ultimate end goal though. However if I was to give some criticism I would say you should work on the graphics a little more. You have the tendency to mix and match pixel sizes and it comes off looking jarring. The truck for example is using pixels that are maybe 3 times larger than the orc. That being said the upgrades scaled nicely and I liked the idea that the gold had to be sold at the truckto be worth anything

The Legend of Nüdacus by dummydojo 2019-10-07T22:30:25Z

Incredible sprite work and fun gameplay - I felt sometimes I could just wait in a corner and cheese the enemies, but despite that it had me hooked. Long live Nudacus

Charly the orphan by Jaypay 2019-10-07T19:45:04Z

I want to rate this fairly but I don't want to come off sounding too harsh. Theres quite a few bugs, such as walkking animations jittering and after collecting all the items mr J asked for, the game didn't end or continue, and I wasn't given any option to do anything else. I found the family portrait but that also didn't do anything. That being said you mention you're a team thats new to game design and compared to some my early work this is a good start, and I think if you continue to work hard at it you'll go on to produce some good stuff.

It's an interesting take on the theme, and I liked your text scrolling effect. Keep doing your best.

However I'm a little concerned Mr J. is ok with me collecting street lemons surrounded by rabid dogs haha.

Night Lights by archfan7411 2019-10-13T08:39:31Z

Interesting idea - good controls, I couldn't see any game breaking issues so the final product works really well. There was an odd issue were if you collided with the fireflies at certain angles the player would collide with them as if they were solid - however this barely effected anything so not a real big issue. I'm a little confused on the connection to the theme - however, though the game offers a basic gameplay loop it's engaging and works well. Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare nice work.

Farm for your life by Cindynator 2019-10-07T08:11:54Z

Interesting idea, I liked the voice acting and the graphics where very clean. I felt like there was a flaw in the game loop though. Tomatoes would sell for 5 gold and give 5 energy, but it would cost 5 energy to pick them, so due to losing energy throughout the day they would end up as an energy deficit. I found the only way to win was to never pick tomatoes unless I had to, and instead skip them entirely and hope for eggplants and carrots. Theres a fun idle in here if you continue to explore it. More upgrades, maybe you can hire a farm hand to help for exampple. Nice work

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

¡Puzzle in Time! by hadesfury 2020-10-18T10:27:49Z

A really solid puzzle game - I like the dino character, and the difficulty was just the right level to keep me coming back and trying.

Nice work

The Infinite Ark by SaraJS 2020-10-18T11:22:21Z

Incredibly polished - but blimey, is it hard. I feel like food and fuel resources run out so quickly with few chances to get them back - I've never managed to get beyond the first planet I encounter simply because my Fuel or Food runs dry.

But it kept me coming back and it's a genuinely good game especially considering the time contraints

General Phantom by terryg 2020-10-17T21:03:44Z

Interesting concept,

And nice work getting a full 3D game made for the LDJam - though I could not get past the 2nd level at all.

I feel like shooting was unresponsive and no matter what I did the soldier I had would die before I had any chance

That being said I think the concept is genuinely really cool - nice work

Dungeon Simulator by Yeti Kid 2020-10-05T20:50:02Z

A nice take on the classic tower defense game - though I was't a fan of the controls, the camera being tied to the mouse meant I would misplace some turrets and the speed to cycle through the towers was a little on the slow side, and because it was tied to the up and down arrow keys I felt it was more designed for a left handed play style?

That being said, I liked the art style and It kept me invested for several rounds - though I could never see a use for the skeletons or bats - Turrets seemed like the pro strat move

Good work on the Jam!

Wow! just straight up incredible - excellent art and solid platforming. I loved the tail animation on the cat and the ending was silly but solid.

Nice one - I can see this one doing very well

I keep finding myself coming back to this

Do you folks have a twitter or other place you post about game development? I'd love to keep my eye on your work

4 Minute Work Week by JoelLikesPigs 2020-10-05T22:33:46Z

@sarafilipa Thank you - a few people have reported getting stuck in walls and stuff, and one time one of the interactable prop just flew around the room when testing - I could never recreate them though, so I can only assume my game is haunted - thank you for checking out the game and I'm glad you enjoyed it

@jasper-hansen Thanks, that means a lot - I appreciate the feedback - I originally thought that by having the timer continue to countdown it sorta forced you to hate your co-workers haha - I dunno, you're probably right that it should pause though - thanks for trying out my game :)

@yeti-kid Thank you - I'm more so an art guy than a dev guy in my own eyes so I appreciate the critique

@sli Thanks! Seems theres a couple bugs with my hit detection which causes the character to get lodged in the ground - Hitting R does restart the game if this ever happens, but obviously it's not ideal...Maybe it's in game lore- the worker just gave up haha

thanks for checking out the game :)

Super Jump Guy by F1Krazy 2020-10-05T21:08:06Z

Nice work!

At first I thought this was just a generic platformer, but I enjoyed the ending - and it wa a good use of the theme.

Interesting idea, I love the sound effects and the simple graphics has a sort of charm to it - nice job

Remember your actions by Sli 2020-10-06T21:45:58Z

It's a nice take on the whol Simon Says thing, and admittedly I totally forgot the first time playing - nice work

Amusement Shark by No Grapes Games 2020-10-08T18:21:38Z

A nice puzzle action game with cute graphics and interesting gameplay - nice use of the theme and a surprising number of levels. Nice work!

Tuxedo, watch out for the rock! by Gumemura 2020-10-05T20:13:27Z

Not bad for a first jam entry - It would be nice to have some sort of score meter or something to judge how well I'm doing outside of the colored background.

Well done

Hellish Job by Ray Himmel 2020-10-18T10:47:16Z

Nice concept - I'm curious if there is more to it though - I found a key and a..watering can? And a "Wrong Door" but couldn't proceed.

I feel like this game may actually be a trick and it doesn't have anything more to it, it just is a game about rolling a rock up a mountain both ways - if that's the case touché and great use of the theme

Blazzy's Big Breakout by Dreamarch 2020-10-17T22:00:12Z

I loved the cloning effect - though unfortunately the game crasshed for me when I got to (what I assume is the last section) the area with the 3 buttons

Still nice concept and good graphics - always blows me away when someone can make a full 3D game in such a short amount of time.

Stuck on the Train by Conneli 2020-10-08T18:32:35Z

I genuinely enjoyed this! I like the race against the clock and learning the steps required in subequent play throughs - it sorta reminds me of that movie Sourcecode - similar idea where a guy has to defuse a bomb but gets to groundhog day his back when he fails

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER by grand_machin 2020-10-17T20:41:45Z

Nice take on the paper's please mechanic.

Well polished for a LD game and just that right level of frustrating.

Nice work
