Cute music and graphics! Bonus points for caravan game jam!
Nice work!
At first I thought this was just a generic platformer, but I enjoyed the ending - and it wa a good use of the theme.
Super cute platformer! Only issue I ran into was that the dialogue towards the ending segment was a bit slow/glitchy. Otherwise, nice use of the theme.
@joellikespigs That's just what I wanted you to think, so that the part at the end would be a surprise. I'm glad people seem to have caught on to the fact that you need to play it repeatedly, I thought I might have been too vague about it.
Excellent! The narration is a good touch, otherwise I wouldn't have replayed the level a sufficient number of times ;)
Spoilers ahead: I was really enthusiastic when I broke the loop, I was a bit disappointed that it ended so quickly after, but I understand that in a jam setting that's all one has time for.
This game deserves more ratings - try to rate more games yourself, FYI, that will make it more likely that your game is recommended to others by the website!
Haha, it was great, I almost missed the full game!
Very nice entry :thumbsup_tone1: seems well polished and the graphics absolutely suit the look and feel of the pico engine - at least IMHO
Haha, we need to be patient before the end :p
That was a funny game.
Another pico8 game! The graphics are really nice given the limitations, and I really enjoyed the music and SFX. Seemed nice and polished (I like the score pop ups). The game itself was nice, if a little short, but it got the theme across. Nice job!
Great stuff man, was worth playing this one through to the end. Don’t wanna post spoilers but was a very satisfying ending, albeit maybe ended a bit sooner than I hoped :p
Wow, a lot of replies suddenly! Thanks for all the positive feedback! :D
@ditam I know how the rating system works, but I was busy until earlier today and didn't have a chance to play other people's games. I'm currently reviewing the games of everyone who's commented here, and I'll keep reviewing for the rest of the rating period.
There seems no better place than caravan park to make an old-school 8-bit gameboy-like game. Such nostalgia!
I love the simplicity of the game, the snapping of controls, the monotone but in-place music and the very positive twist at the end of the game (kaaaaameeeeeeeeeee........)
I wish it was longer! Job well done!
Very cool... played well and I always like a twist. ;)
Super cute platformer! The controls felt nice and a very satisfying ending ;)
This so awesome. I hope you flush it out and include a whole bunch of different genres every time he gets bored of one. Keep it up this is really cool
@coryru That is, in fact, the plan. I won't be able to do it in PICO-8, as its limitations don't give me much room for expansion, but I could definitely try creating a full-length version of the game in something like Unity or GameMaker Studio.
Cool game, I played for a while and the game is beautiful, even though it is simple, I liked the soundtrack too. I loved the ending! It was unexpected. Really the only flaw is that the game is too short. Great job!
Cool idea, and very polished, great job!
That was a ton of fun! I definitely second the request for an expansion, I'd totally play that. A fun platformer with a nice little message to be sure. It feels so polished for a jam game! Excellent work.
Nicely done! The dialogue could be a bit more out of the way though, and the dialogue popped up at weird points. (Like, I was right at the end and the player was like "poor zombie..." even though there were exactly 0.)
@peace-of-cake-games The dialogue is random; every now and then, the game pulls a random line from an array and displays it. Connecting the dialogue to your actions, and writing multiple lines per action per loop, would have taken more time than I had. It would definitely enhance the experience, though, so thanks for pointing it out!
how do i play ???
@can123ten The controls are listed above.
i mean how do i start the game
@can123ten You have to click the white "Play" button inside the window, that initialises the game.
Short and sweet! Was hoping for even more "levels" but ahh, I guess that's too much to expect for a jam game :)
