LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Grab Your Nutz by Budaniel 2020-10-13T20:02:30Z

DAMN this game is hard!!!

I love the cute-murder execution of the falling squirell. Poor guy, he died so many times.

As other have already said, the birds are crazy fast and there's almost no way to react to them. Hell, I have been saved twice by hitting a branch and slowing down, when suddenly Hawk appeared out of nowhere in the spot where I have just been!

My highscore was 20 and I wanted to play more. It's such demanding and hard, yet very addicting!

Good job!

Looper by jk5000 2020-10-05T17:38:09Z

Cool and addicting concept. The game can be blindly progressed by just clicking one combinaton at a time. Maybe a second or two of verification before accepting player's choice would prevent it.

Also, maybe it's just me, but would be nice to actually choose location from which you see and where you copy, let's say topdown.

Good music, vfx and sfx altoghether.

Other than that, solid entry and good job!

SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE by Sheepolution 2020-10-06T17:20:38Z

Solid reiteration of snake. Spot-on execution of the theme. Looks like easy entry on Switch for me! Well done!

Stuck In Paris by CocaPasteque 2020-10-07T22:22:47Z

Very similar to the other game I played on this Ludum Dare, but with different execution. Had much fun playing! Managed to get to level 8 and exploded with 7 buses... :D

Astronaut Plus Skateboard 2: Galactic Boogaloo by CliffracerX 2020-10-13T19:45:56Z

So basically this is a Silver Surfer simulator? Speed checks out, cause I had very hard time landing anywhere.

I like the generation of planets etc, unfortunately, all seeds I tried happened to have only black planets. The background image is too much to process against the solar system you're in.

You have a wide angle of possibilites to go with it. Keep up the good work!

Aberration by Megalink 2020-10-13T19:50:18Z

I adore the mood in this little piece of a game. The graphics are made spot-on for the atmosphere and I love the unique monotone color palette used here. I just wish it was longer...

Job well done! Keep it up!

SPร…RVAGN by Dustyroom 2020-10-08T12:32:28Z

@dustyroom Oslo / Stockholm / Copenhagen tram simulator? :smile: Will check it out on my stream today!

SPร…RVAGN by Dustyroom 2020-10-08T21:42:18Z

So the game is like another take on MiniMetro. At first I was thinking that the game will be about building tramways, but it's the other way around, which makes it also interesting! The visuals are gorgeous.

##### I honeslty think this is how IKEA Gaming department would look like if they make their games!

Colorful Memories by Ayxs 2020-10-10T21:37:18Z

It's a deep experience to play through. The visuals and post processing is stunning. The music elevated the overall mood of the came as the colors came to life back again in depressing moment... Very touchable story. I will be honest as I have not rated this game in 'fun' or 'humor' as for me it touches the very sensitive moments a parent can go through. Job well done nontheless!

Magmania by CameronPenner 2020-10-27T17:56:51Z

As I promised yesterday :)

So the gameplay loop is pretty functional and concept itself is really cool. The music (or rather notes) is just enough to keep the mood going throughout the gameplay. I played on normal mode and managed to get the end.

Resource management is very interesting and I found it quite intuitive to go by and utilize. What was not so intuitive for me though was the actual printer / selector interace. I would definitely prefer to get the menu on the printer itself and just confirm my choice. Maybe it's just me but I found the current interface iteration a bit confusing and I lost quite a lot every time when I tried utilizing arrows instinctively to select what I want to print and Space to confirm on Selector. There's a room for improvement here.

Other than that, the game felt a bit lacking in variety of what to do, but it's a game jam, there's always place to complain on that matter, for my game as well.

Visual-audio representation is solid nontheless and you did a good job!

Hack'n Loop by Darenn 2020-10-11T21:41:49Z

Solid entry. The twist of having downgrades and upgrades simultaneously is a unique idea to keep the user choose different strategies for every playthrough, and they're even randomized every time! I also liked the idea that enemies can kill eachother, giving you a subtle reward if you're god in movement and positioning. Apart form the small bug with the level-end doors (teleporting, trigger issues) I think I would like to see only upgrades version with timer to see how fast you can get to let's say level 50, so after 20 levels you become virus-god-slayer and your time now only depends on your movement. Job well done guys!

Escape the loop by Vivoubos 2020-10-11T00:29:23Z

Interesting execution and finally a puzzle/portal game **WITH A MINIMAP**. Got to the 'green' ending quite quickly and enjoyed tossing myself around portals and tinker the way to go forward. I also found the voice acting hilarious and keeping me smiling during the playthrough (for meeeeeeeeeeee). I think just need some polishing on jump a bit. Job well done!

WireTap by Dingbat 2020-10-05T01:21:57Z

Had much fun playing the game! Amazing job on levels and atmosphere!

Etracyte by bentglasstube 2020-10-05T15:39:18Z

Kudos to using your own Framework for the game! As for the gameplay, seems like 2d Version of No Man's Sky. Unfortunately, 3 of my first planets (all I played) were exactly the same, so maybe there's a bug in procedular generation system. The game seems to be lagging a bit (each 10-15 steps I take it freezes the player, move the background a bit backwards to where I am moving my player to). Also, on my first gameplay, I got stuck without any Crystals and no jetpack fuel, so being 'rougelike' I assume a game over screen would be cool :D

Rad Boar Rewind by alexrose 2020-10-08T21:44:31Z

DOOM meets Pigs in Space. Very good execution on the theme! Enjoyed the music as well! Job well done!

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-10T21:39:45Z

Snappy movement, very interesting looping mechanincs and intriguing level design! Reminds me a bit of Another World scenery and mood, which is of course a compliment. Would love for the difficulty spike to be less aggressive (or maybe I am just stupid haha). Job well done! Keep up the good work!

Troubled Mind: A Life of Torture by Flying Cat of the Pepes 2020-10-05T01:31:01Z

This game can be defined with simple equation : Fun x Humor x Audio^100000.

Choo Choo Circuit by Elemental Zeal Game Studios 2020-10-13T20:12:48Z

Finally I made it to the end! Such clever puzzle game! I like the children's tale kind of graphics, even though the gameplay is very serious. Sound effects are cute, it just longs for some more music rather than just blowing winter wind. Wish it had more levels, but it's a solid entry. Job well done!

Satelloop by diptoman 2020-10-07T22:23:43Z

Great game to play, addictive loop, solid concept. Job well done!

Cat's Delivery Service by uchiro 2020-10-14T19:54:59Z

A very beautiful piece of a game. I love the drawing-style graphics and all the cats hanging around, doing on their own. Audio is very pleasing to hear as well. The story is well narrated, even though the gameplay is very simple. Multiple choices makes you think about others. Unfortunately, I got stuck on the train because I couldn't place a new item after 5th day / loop (I think?). Wish there was a better objective or quest log. Job well done!

Knights of the Holy Loop by RenD 2020-10-10T21:09:06Z

##### Double Bard Stack IS OP / Crashes the game!

I got stuck in a lopp trying to double Bard my archer and I was stuck on the second bard forever :D You can see it on my stream! Nontheless, the game is very polished. I love the execution and will definitely play the full title! Sign me in for beta! Job well done guys!

A Ghost Party by lexi 2020-10-11T21:08:30Z

Very cute little game about making little ghosts happy! I loved the mood and overall visual design. The gameplay and mechanics were very simple to grasp and learn, and I finished the game in less than 5 minutes. I wish it was much longer than this! Please make more levels! Great job nontheless! :)

Stuck in a Portal by Dr_V 2020-10-05T17:28:30Z

Ambitious project for Compo Entry. Interesting gameplay loop, longs for better progression system at the beggining. I also encountered a glitch when jumping in the 'main' world and clicking space constantly, I got stuck into one of the 'ground' tiles and then teleported to random world without clicking 'E' :smile:

Improve on graphics department would be cool, otherwise very good entry! Good job!

Emile's Journey by qui 2020-10-12T21:40:47Z

I love the visual / audio in this short story of a game. Such a beautiful experience to play through. I just wish it was longer! Great job guys!

Re-Version by vlandemart 2020-10-07T20:34:05Z

You have a very solid foundation for a good title to be produced! I like the rewinding, I would like it to be maybe faster a bit. Don't give up and keep up the good work guys!

Oplo by Harry Alissavakis 2020-10-08T21:47:08Z

Cute platformer that resembles the Zelda titles itself! Beautiful visual-audio design. Really enjoyed playing it on stream. Job well done!

Hyperloop hell by Aterlamia 2020-10-05T15:00:30Z

Art style, gameplay suggestions and story are great for starters. As before stated, the font is too much for my eyes to get through sometimes. I think I have to agree with @john-gabriel on the scope of the project vs the reality of the time limit of the jam. The game can be expanded upon in a similar way to Darkside Detective, but with walking.

My only 'salt in the eye' was audio, which felt a bit out-of-space for the game pacing and the mood you were trying to create. Happy music with bomb / time situation seems comedy-ish a bit, but maybe it's just my opinion :)

Hyperloop hell by Aterlamia 2020-10-05T15:17:17Z

@aterlamia No problem! One more glitch I encountered. **SPOILER**, when trying to open doors with text "I have to go back to tell Diane what I found", the font color glitched and it was showing white text with Asteroid sprites. Probably the closing tag is missing in the text renderer :)

Loopomotive by Tamas Turi 2020-10-08T21:37:32Z

It was cool playing your game on stream. I wish the tracks were more polished when it comes to the direction where your train is going to go. You could also add a bit more levels, skins etc. but nontheless, the game is basically a ship-ready product for mobile especially. Well done!

Poppy's stuck in time by Xenation 2020-10-06T17:47:57Z

The artstyle is very appealing and makes for the game's mood overall in a good way. Unfortunately, the pause menu does not work at all (Web version). And I couldn't proceed to the other levels (if there are?) after freeing the buddy. Good job nontheless guys :)

The Red Twins Assassination by ErikU 2020-10-05T14:47:18Z

Good Entry! The Web version tested had a bug that I could not rethrow secondary dagger. Restarting via 'R' button solved the problem. I like the animations and the colors as well as they don't feel to dark, what happens in most assasin-style games.

GREY MILK by sunnray 2020-10-11T22:17:35Z

I love the cat, it's so funny and cute. The story was something I did not understood at first but I was able to cutely meow through it and get an 'undoing' ending :) Unfortunately there's little room to get cat into roller skating speed and the dialog is sometimes distracted me from moving. Try to separate story from gameplay a bit more and make more room for the cute cat to run as it should! Keep up the good work! :)

Spinnerets by Jeremy Ryan 2020-10-05T01:33:51Z

Great entry for Switch Title actually! Couch fun :v:

Spinnerets by Jeremy Ryan 2020-10-05T01:58:46Z

@jeremy-ryan don't worry. When I look at my game's code I want to call exterminatus cause it's full heresy.

Loop Frogs by GaryS 2020-10-11T00:23:49Z

Another take on ghost/follower entity platformer based on timeloops and another unique execution of it :) Found the jumping mechanics to be a little bit too tricky to my taste, but it may be just me. Level design executed very well and simple, so no big spikes in difficulty. Would love to see more variations of the levels itself (other backgronds etc) but de to Jam time it's understandable. Very good entry and the job well done!

(By)Cycle by tenshi42 2020-10-11T00:04:18Z

Maybe it's just me, but I did not find the control system wery suitable. My right hand fingers died after certain time of mashing buttons ( I didn't even know how fast should I mash actually ). Then we have 'gears' and other stuff :D Other than than, good job. Fun nontheless.

Roundabout Way by Quandtm 2020-10-06T13:19:07Z

Eyyy 45 secs!

Great entry, very easy to learn and a very good title for quick 5-minutes during Subway run to work. Would be very cool mobile title as well.

Well done guys!

BeatBoi by Delightfullymad 2020-10-05T00:06:03Z

oWo - Addicting! But seriously, the game is a gem on it's own. Love the graphics quality (Fallout Vibes).

Loopin'Space by Stracker 2020-10-07T20:25:31Z

Easy to learn, hard to master. Good execution. Well done!

You're A Loop by RIBOUT Horace 2020-10-05T17:51:27Z

An awedropping, stunning game both by sounds and graphics. I've had a very nice journey towards the end. Amazing entry and such an experience to play it. Well done!

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-07T22:01:28Z

Fun and addictive! Had great time playing it. Would be cool to see it as full-multiplayer mayhem. :D

OOO by Kultisti 2020-10-07T20:25:09Z

Very solid entry. Would be cool to go full screen (16:9 aspect ratio). Good for steam indie category! Well done!

Loopgun by Andreadbx 2020-10-08T21:54:50Z

Solid and well-executed foundation for the upcoming title. Had fun playing it on stream. Great job guys, keep it up!

A Night Around the Fire by arron-fowler 2020-10-09T21:03:47Z

Solid game when it comes to mood and gameplay. Very easy to grasp around and quickly learn how to play. Simple yet defining visuals making the game even more interesting. Job well done!

The Daily Grind by meadjix 2020-10-09T21:05:39Z

I honestly stopped at 2nd level because I couldn't grasp my head around the mayhem that was going on in the city hahahaha. Overall you guys have a solid foundation, just need better and more one-themed visual representation. :)

Phil Alone by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2020-10-09T21:44:48Z

Thank's for the warning. I did not find myself categorizing this game to depressed ones :) Definitely cool concept and good execution on the theme. I liked the simple visuals as well as audio. Tried thinking outside of the box which get me into 'good' ending ( I guess ? ). Job well done!

TRiXIT by tulipekoni 2020-10-05T00:45:04Z

Definitely something I've seen before as previous comments stated. Nontheless, easy to learn, hard to master. Good entry for 48hrs. Maybe it's just me, but for first 5-10 lifes I couldn't grep myself around the controls... If you turn 'right', you go counter-clockwise, so rotation is to the left? :sweat_smile:

Stuck on Loop by Britt Henderson 2020-10-06T20:05:53Z

Hey! Can't run it on Windows, says the Data folder is not found. Sad Times :(

Super Jump Guy by F1Krazy 2020-10-13T19:47:52Z

There seems no better place than caravan park to make an old-school 8-bit gameboy-like game. Such nostalgia!

I love the simplicity of the game, the snapping of controls, the monotone but in-place music and the very positive twist at the end of the game (kaaaaameeeeeeeeeee........)

I wish it was longer! Job well done!

The Loop by Jin9310 2020-10-04T22:44:50Z

Eyy good game my friend! Will be back to rate as well :)

The Loop by Jin9310 2020-10-05T17:34:25Z

Okay, back to review then. Pixelart on spot, gameplay loop is clear and learning curve is ok for beginner. Good music as well. More colorful backgrounds would be appreciated :)

Beyond Death by Trypants 2020-10-07T20:29:33Z

Let's start with bad things to get them out. Fix camera positioning a bit (maybe shaders fix for certain obstacles to increase opacity?) and based on camera the collision detection would be cool.

And now, this game is basically a ship-ready product for Switch, especially as CO-OP game... I adore the graphics and audio (especially the 4th iteration you wanted me to follow, will listen to it on youtube). Please include me for alpha testing when you guys will be more into production! Can't stress enough how priviledged I am to see this brilliant game.

Job well done guys. Hi 5!

Populatio by FabDynamic 2020-10-05T01:07:36Z

Very cool concept. Kinda resembles me of a Reddit's space joke. 'Doctor Jupiter... I think I'm having humans...'

Populatio by FabDynamic 2020-10-05T08:33:14Z

@fabdynamic http://molempire.com/2011/09/21/mankind-vs-earth-illustrated-jokes/

Grave Juice by Firebelley 2020-10-08T21:35:32Z

The game has very good concept and I love the execution. I would like to have a helper for throwing mechanics, but that's just me maybe :) Other than that, solid entry and well done!

MonkeyVM by abvadabra 2020-10-08T21:34:13Z

The game is a gem on it's own, it was a pleasure of mine to stream it live and try some of the levels. I will keep it on my disk! Please make it on Switch or other platform as well!

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-08T21:49:54Z

One of the most funniest games I played in terms of Theme/Humor execution. Dino-laser-spaceship shenanigans vs the asteroid! The only thing you could do is change the scale of weight from Kgs to Tonnes, as Thousands of tonnes are more realistic in terms of those kind of asteroids than asteroid that weights more less 10 SUV cars :D Job well done!

2020-10-08 (6).png

Hammy the Hamster by FlyingKiwi 2020-10-12T21:55:19Z

Very cute game about a fluffy hamster. I love the design and sweet home-like mood. Would be perfect for childrens game! The gameplay is not boring while being very simple to grasp around. Good job!

SUNSTYX by Jasper Hansen 2020-10-05T00:11:04Z

@jasper-hansen I actually thought you're playing some kind of ancient laser beam that have angels regenerating it before reading description. :D

Kinda hard to understand what's going on at first. By the way, can your laser damage the 'angels' or those lives you're given?

SUNSTYX by Jasper Hansen 2020-10-05T00:47:10Z

@jasper-hansen Nah it was cool. Figure it out after I lost 3 lives by accidentally incinerating them from existence :sweat_smile: . It's a feature they say!

Home Office Survivor by castrolol 2020-10-08T21:40:51Z

The game has solid foundation for a nice title. I wish the indication of the tasks (order) was more pointed to the Player, as I was confused at first. Or is there any order at all? I've also found a bug, basically I was able to wait in the game until money went to 0 while doing 'work' task and have money bar back but stil lost to Capitalism :D

Broken Dungeon by PurpledArtFrog 2020-10-11T00:14:12Z

Played the game on stream as well. Very cool and fun dungeon runner with Hotline Miami feel (instadeath). Managed to get to the main boss and failed miserably. I liked the concept of just having an item and proceeding to utilize it by movement instead of swinging or clicking use or anything, which made gameplay very smooth and enjoyable. Love the mood. Great Job! Keep up the good work!

Broken Dungeon by PurpledArtFrog 2020-10-12T07:53:37Z

@purpledartfrog wow that's a lot of notifications. Sure no problemo :)

Deja vu by Thomas Volpato 2020-10-10T21:26:10Z

Played it on stream. As I mentioned, I think is supposed to reward players by memorizing patterns, yet the game keep changing the rules of the pattern-to-value and the game becomes a guessing game rather than memorizing platformer. The foundation is good, just need switching from gameplay perspective. Keep up the good work and welcome to the gamedev community!

Hyper Racer by X_Pilot 2020-10-09T18:06:52Z

Wonderful game, addicting and enjoyful at the same time.

Well, played it on stream guys, got 735

##### Am I good enough?? I can go up to 800 probably :D

Hyper Racer by X_Pilot 2020-10-09T22:07:16Z

#### 785!

I have a video if you want to use it for promotion. I'm going to go puke hard somewhere now.

Hyperloop by very dark lord 2020-10-11T21:34:44Z

That's what you can expect from a team of very talented artists and developers. The graphics and especially characters reminds me a bit of Darkside Detective ( which is actually a great inspiration as I take from it myself !). The mood execution is spot-on with both visual / audio mix as well as decently crafted short moments. I wish it was longer though, but nontheless a gem on it's own and great experience to play. Fantastic work guys! looking forward for longer version!

The Ring Of Happiness by JulienLussiez 2020-10-05T21:45:47Z

Hi! There's no link for the game or source code :(

The Ring Of Happiness by JulienLussiez 2020-10-05T22:12:05Z

I love the unique graphics you came with the game. The concept is cool. And it's really tiny unless you want to 'let it go...' . Great job on the entry!

Robetrotter by Tyrael 2020-10-08T22:00:20Z

Great concept to the looping theme. The game is polished and kinda cute to be honest. The arrow key does not allow you to jump higher as others mentioned, but I have used space afterwards. Enjoyed it very much! Job well done!

Reactor Cycles by Dock Frankenstein 2020-10-08T21:43:35Z

I think it's a bit too overscoped for the jam in terms of complexity, yet it has a very interesting foundation. Keep up the good work and maybe introduce a longer tutorial in-game :)

DISTORT by SuperGamersGames 2020-10-08T21:46:18Z

The game is polished and beautiful audio-visually. Gameplay execution is spot-on. The theme I think is also there (re-iteration of same level, with more obstacles). Enjoyed playing it. Job well done!

Rainy Eternity in Limbo by pfs 2020-10-06T17:29:23Z

Nice game lads. The only thing I was missing was a cup-of-tea-barrier that will make you immortal for 5 seconds. Cause there's always time for some quality tea, isn't it? Umbrela?

LoopChan by Kaish 2020-10-09T21:16:19Z

I had exact same problem with 'beat-to-gameplay-rythm' as @marcmagus. I thought that I should be very tight with my movement to the nice and soft beat and should always push forward in the beat rythm, but eventually had to stop moveing to understand that it's the player moving to the 'beat' rather than my controls should.

I love the visual/audio execution which is spot-on for this game. I found the overall mood to be happy and didn't care much about destroying myself few times on the boxes :)

Job well done guys!

Goop Loop by jitspoe 2020-10-10T23:20:09Z

My brain almost melted and I almost managed to punch the screen to try to kill the narrator. But it should be taken as compliment hahaha :D . Liked the literal grim joke of loop inside the loop which was an Icing on the cake after tryharding so much... Interesting nontheless, good job!

Layers of time by Kaldrin 2020-10-10T21:33:29Z

Very cool concept that has been seen throughout the LD games (ghosty friend platformer). What your game takes advantage in is a very clear execution of the gameplay, great and very handy controls and almost spot-on level difficulty increase. Tutorial is also very cool. Played on Xbox controller without any issues. Work on some music and more levels. Job well done!

Need More Space by wheatleyscience 2020-10-09T21:08:54Z

Cute little planets exploration game with interesting death mechanics. Lacks a bit in objectives clarity as I did understood the context, but the objectives seemed to be written in a hurry, making it hard to immerse further (gramatically especially). Needs some polishing from visuals perspective in some areas, however I loved the way you guys made death-posters and the astronaut character itself. Keep up the good work!

The Daily Grind by Basileios 2020-10-05T17:13:46Z

Fine entry. Tried different way to get out of the loop. with no avail unfrotunately. Managed to get 6 points. I think the 'Paperology' could be done per click rather drag and drop, but maybe it's just me :)

Is The Paperology segment randomized?

In The Loop by TheGamerASD 2020-10-06T17:14:55Z

There's something addicting in the concept. Very simple time killer game for mobile or for Switch entry (multiplayer deathmatch coach?! - I take 20% equity for that! :smile: ) Good job!

HONK II by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2020-10-09T21:01:15Z

DOOM meets gooose game. You guys should go to Id Software to make this game into DOOM Eternal as minigame easter egg :D Great job, crisp shooting and visual execution. Not to mention outstanding soundtrack. Well done!

Guntasy by bigwhiteshogun 2020-10-12T21:39:20Z

Cool gameplay and very snappy controls. Like someone said above, it's another metroidvania style game. The game longs for minimap support. Some weapons and enemies felt unbalanced a bit. I've also seen that you randomize the loot, which is cool. Now, maybe it's just me, but I have found the animations very jaggy, lagging a bit and not being fluid (for playet). Dont know if it's the fluid offset of camera movement, maybe it's something with the animation. It's hard to explain but clearly visible.

Overall, very fun and polished entry!

A very unique way to looping. I just have looped the entire level with cursor and waited until my character returned to the starting point, clearing the entire level :D

Below you see my score going through first level only. Such fun!

Great entry with good visuals and mood. I was kinda stuck and had to restart game few times to understand the concept of day/night time between work and taking care of other facilities on the ship. Job well done nontheless!

Aboard by Chris Mulholland 2020-10-11T17:50:20Z

Very mooody and dark, perfect to play during wet/rainy evening. Very simple graphics elevating the character of the gameplay, which is a very interesting puzzle game on its own. Ending is a message on it's own... Nicely done and good job!

Altered Nexus by clemonades 2020-10-05T15:27:33Z

Very cool game, the visuals and orangeness is quite appealing. The difficulty ramp is a bit too harsh, but it's understandable given very short time for level design during Jam. As mentioned by @glaikunt, the hit registry is a bit flappy-bird-like, so it's rewarding when you make the pixel perfect jump but can also backfire on players who are less patient :sweat_smile:

Delivery Boy Forever by civmaniac 2020-10-09T21:02:22Z

Got the ending after 6-7th day (was not that focused on the game). Very interesting concept and clean execution on gameplay. The hints were solid and made me finish with 'good' ending :) Job well done!

Funk Side of the Moon by Twoscoops 2020-10-05T21:40:06Z

Aestetically pleasing dancing experience! My only comment would be that I may not quite understand the damage / HP system implemented. Do I need to be 'in-sync' with the alien, or should I jump on it to not loose life? Other than that, well done guys!

Paper Planes by SamDemaine 2020-10-05T01:15:16Z

One of the actual gems. Awesome job, very addicting gameplay.

Orbits by CaptainProton42 2020-10-08T21:55:58Z

Cute and fun game with nice increase of difficulty and clear mechanics. Solid and ejoyable entry. Job well done, would play on my iPad or Switch!

Vacuum Cleaner Simulator by Jasuse 2020-10-10T21:27:40Z

Very cool concept. Just needs a bit of polishing from various sides. The core is interesting. Would be better to have maybe more modern styled interior or even office space as Roombas and other robots seems to be common in such spaces :) Also maybe make the robot more modern (nice battery indicators on 3D Model and WiFi panel as well) and work around the bumpers as they are kinda defining in the cleaning bots. Good job nontheless! Keep it up!

So I ended up with positive ending, even though I am not married yet! I would love to see them hug though! Great and unexpected (in a good way) emotional experience. All pieces well put and executed, especially the animations and the cuteness of the couple. Well done!

Re:Live by Ciber_Turtle 2020-10-11T21:30:16Z

Cute and fun platformer. I love the great usage of Unity new 2D Lighting system togheter with post processing, which gived thee overall mood of the scene. And even thought we're in the dungeon, the colors and bloom seems to make the place actually cosy. Love the different iterations of character clothing each time you die and reset. Music is very simple and rather ambient, but there's no need for fanfares in this type of games. I enjoyed it and felt rellaxed trying to figure the puzzles out. Great job!

Never End by Finn_Tr 2020-10-10T21:30:45Z

This game is a sort of experience to live through. Very deep mood elevated with wonderful visual / audio execution keep the player occupied. Would love gamepad controls as with keyobard the jumping controls may feel a bit too much to handle. But it's a very minor con against multiple pros to this title. Job well done!

Don't Stress that Beat! by JoskerDu 2020-10-10T23:18:01Z

Very addictive and finger-breaking gameplay! I love the theme taken almost to the word of timeloop. Managed to get to Friday 13th, which is instadeath I guess (Kappa). Liked the music a lot and visuals only elevated a good execution of the title. Job well done!

AD NJOHHOSJNSLSZAM by Zik 2020-10-13T20:04:12Z

Slap the tap! Nice execution on gameplay. Cool graphics. I wish there was more levels (maybe randomized / procedural variations?).

Great entry for compo!

Any% Out of bounds! (Screenshot)

Like they say, the more bloom you have, the more A your game has!

I delivered 5 signals and got the endgame screen. The concept and the player character is very cool, however the gameplay could be a bit faster (we're talking electrical circtuits here).

Orbital Hostage by Meek Bits 2020-10-05T20:20:33Z

Solid and eastatically pleasing theme concept and great execution. Turns out my defence system hates asteroids as much as Doc (poor Doc, died 10+ times). I think it also has some room to expand ( more types of weapons etc ). Audio a bit monotone, but it's understandable to game jam limitations. Great job!

Bhoot && Toobh by pune007 2020-10-14T14:18:55Z

The game is cute and the gameplay is solid. I like double-braining puzzle games! I've unfortunately encountered a collision bug that if you have ghost hugging the top or the bottom wall, it may get stuck for some reason, breaking your solution as it's very placement-based puzzle. If you can fix/polish that a little, I think you have a solid game to expand upon. Good job!

Car Looper by Snotax 2020-10-07T20:32:44Z

Very solid entry. Entertaining and addictive levels. Definitely would see it as mobile / Switch title in the future. PLEASE INCLUDE SAWING MACHINE IN THE CREDITS PLEASE.

@ludumdaredevil Thanks! I was trying to get some sort of 'feedback' like Cinemachine shake, but didn't have time left, cause as always I ignored it and worked on 'good ending'. Only soundques at best. Will improve!

@fabdynamic Frankly I just used MacOS builder 'cAuSe iT sHoUlD wOrK'. I have MBP in my office and I can test it tommorow. I will try to make it work and will notify you asap!

Loopfield by MikoziQ 2020-10-05T00:35:00Z

@ratrat44 The speed of 'projectiles' is randomized. I have approx. 22 spawners and everything is a bit RNG. I think I should have put less range on 'entrySpeed' variable. Thanks for checking it out!

Loopfield by MikoziQ 2020-10-05T00:36:04Z

@tulipekoni Thanks! Will check your entry as well :)

Loopfield by MikoziQ 2020-10-05T00:38:31Z

@eriku Thanks for checking out! I have 'Spawners' situated mostly on the sides of the screen. Hence all the projectiles are instantly forced on your location, I thought it may got too hard too fast. I have plenty of features to apply to this game, but first I need to refactor it completely because my code is such BS I don't even know how it holds up haha :)

@jin9310 Thanks for playing! My audio creation skills are not yet on the level I would like, so I sticked to the main Theme for now :)

@mark-kelly That was my initial idea. However, due to my current barrier timing limitations, I decided to leave it and finish the mechanic. As one commenter ( @namidasai ) mentioned, that gives actually gameplay options when you can regenerate full shielding but you're low on health and see health block approaching. It's a tradeoff :)

@indivicivet The difficulty spike is randomized unfortunately, I will express it in Post LD game definitely. Same goes with more points gain with less shield :) Oh no, you almost finished the game and you quit :( Sad times.

@retrospecter Thanks, the concept of regenerating shield whenever is good concept, however I wanted to give player as little control as possible to focus on incoming projectiles. May think about it in post LD though!

@worblir Sfx is something I got feedback from other people as well. Thinking about 'fixing' it now but don't know whether that's a fix to bug or a feature :sweat_smile:

@nerdytopic Thanks for playing! Ah yes, another boolean to add haha. Will fix that :)

Glad you guys enjoyed :) It's very uplifting as I want to continue my hobby and seeing that my work makes people happy and hooked cannot be more heartwarming and motivating! I have taken a lot of feedback from all of you and others so you can check my changelog request I've added! There will be more coming changelog requests and I will make a devlog out of it either on Twitch or YT if possible after LD ends :)

@n8dev Probably the font is one of the lower priority changes, but I will keep that in mind! As some of the people respond to pitch difference, I will definitely make it so! Thank you for checking out :)

@cakii23 Thank you! This is indeed my first 'completed' game. I have started learning unity by the end of 2019 :)

@games-by-tom Thank you :) I will be making a complete overhaul to the tutorial (more graphic-wise, less wall of text). You can check my Changelog request I edited in to this page!

@renge Thank you! I have a bit other plans regarding the shield, you can check my changelog request!

@eduardo-yukio Thank you for playing! Rankings is something I intend to add in the future. Possible next changelog request :)

@brorenata Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I have tossed some of the points you mentioned into changelog request I will be attempting to make after LD :)

@tricky-fat-cat Thanks! I may introduce more linear RNGesus spikes later on!

@scidev Thank you for playing and yes, I am going to completely overhaul the barrier system as the current one was proof-of-concept :)

@duke You almost made it to the end! I should have mentioned about the times I didn't display unfortunately... but I will introduce it in different game modes (arcade / survival) :) Thank you for playing and for feedback!

@kaldrin Noted and edited :) Thank you for playing and for feedback!

@jitspoe first you need a shotgun :D Thank you for the feedback!

@antti-haavikko OH my god that is a wall of feedback. There's a lot of improvements I decided to put in to the changelog request based on your feedback as well as the others. Definitely separate game modes (highscore arcade vs fleet survival timer), refactor RNG (every spawn is RNG with specific weight of % of spawning chance basically), different sizes of asteroids with different hit damage values, quite possibly other enemy variations (gas clouds, electromagnetic charges etc) as well as complete overhaul of shielding as it's clunky but it was basically a proof-of-concept. Thank you for insigthful feedback!

@sharkwithlasers OH MY GOD I need to watch more of those. Thank you so much for that piece of advice and thank you for playing and giving feedback! :)

@seurimas Thank you! I tried exactly to scope it down do Compo (gameplay.zip.rar.zip + simplicity). I will consider making changes to the shielding system and spawners :) Thank you again for playing and feedback!

@darenn Thank you! I will keep widescreen, but I will introduce better spawning system and overhaul to shield's mechanics to make it more approachable :)

Dark mood sensing as the water droplets hit the ground. Unfortunately I got stuck at level 3 once without ability to reset the level, so some bugs / functionality is not there, but overall idea and execution is still good nontheless. Good job!

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-05T20:09:42Z

Very good theme conception materialized in form of innovative tower defense game. A bit short but understandable based on the compo time limit. Tons of room to expand (multiple bases, multiple rings, turret types etc). Great entry and a very good material for Post LD game! Great job!

Roll, Turn, Repeat by Akromaly 2020-10-13T21:02:26Z

Beautiful, simple design with easy yet clever puzzles to solve! Very smooth introduction to more difficult maps and nice twist on the second ball!

The gameplay is very satisfying and feels well polished. Music is subtle but keeps the mood going.

Would be very cool as mobile entry as well.

I've had smile as big as those small cute balls while playing. Job well done!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-12T22:09:14Z

The game has a unique potential. You have a solid foundation for the story and you're going in the good direction in terms of execution. As other people said, the game longs for longer story and possibly more puzzles, more interactions etc. I understand the graphics are quite sparse (even though the models are good looking), they need more polishing of course. I like the mood of the game that it's not a horror but rather a puzzle game, something similar to Turings Test. Please keep up the good work!

Linfinite by Notinatal 2020-10-08T22:01:53Z

The game is a gem visually and introduces a very cool concept only present on that high level as the other entry (MonkeyVM of course). Mechanically and logically I think suits even better in the genre! Job well done guys! Keep up the good work. And remember about my easter egg :D

Very good entry! Making UI interactable this way is a unique gameplay :) well done!

Binary Loop by Spiderhead20 2020-10-05T15:12:18Z

Simple game with really cool concept to design, especially the robot and it's animations! The controls are quite clunky though and the robot feels more slipping through than walking / running. The level design is cool, however the robot can jump through walls and sometimes do double jump mid-air when it's not supposed to (level 4). Also on level 4, I could go through wall next to the loop ending button, transporting me straight to the bottom right path next to player spawn. I think taking more care into "fluidness" of controls might have been a deal breaker here.

Millenniloop by nerdytopic 2020-10-06T17:56:30Z

Nice gameplay loop. Shame it does not have ending (now I am independent Millenials-thingy!). Managed to get +33333 and stopped there. You can actually play this game withouth firing a single shot, as when you dash diagonally you gain much more speed than bill that's pursuing you so you can circle them around no problem and just go for coins and extra jobs :)

Newster - A Fantasy Social Media Sim by NamidaSai 2020-10-05T14:42:10Z

The artwork and the social experiment core is very well done. This only proves a point of social feed addiction IG, FB and other apps make to us. Great work!

Evo-loop-tion | Ludum Dare 47 by MrchickenBoy 2020-10-10T21:13:59Z

The core is layed down in a interesting way, however the game longs for polishing and better gameplay execution. I got lost on the 3rd level and couldn't accomplish it because I just didn't know what to do after labirynth stage and, because of probably wrong timing, I always only had 2-3 seconds after labirynth to do anything else. Apart from that rather easy bugs to fixes like non-blocking colliders on the edge of the screens or jumping and sliding collisions. I didn't know why you put maze-minigame in the game itself. It seemed out of place completely. Keep up the work though :)

Stuckgrade by N8Dev 2020-10-06T21:38:39Z

Okay, first things first. The gameplay and core mechanic is really good. My comments only would refer to slippery / over-responsive movement of the character. I think making the game not pause you to menu everytime you die if you don't have credits for any upgrade would be cool as well :) Good job nontheless!

Cycle Breakdown by TheJohnyFeeD 2020-10-08T21:52:41Z

Smooth and satisfying gameplay mechanics with clear goals and on-spot execution. My only comment is on the 'exit' doors to probably be closed before you make invalid moves or die or fullfill the objective in room, because I randomly got teleported to the level's start by accident.

Other than that, it looks like perfect Switch title for me!

Job well done!

Grabby - The Ultimate Grabbinator by rucksack 2020-10-08T21:54:04Z

The Infinite Parable by BenSlaney 2020-10-07T20:32:02Z

Loop's Way by Linetaru 2020-10-09T21:09:59Z

for egg in basket by indivicivet 2020-10-06T20:25:02Z

Definitely humorous game! Had to sweat a bit during late levels. Would improve graphics just a tiny bit but it's not a big deal at all anyway. Great job!

Endless Night on Galaxy Railway by cuoshen 2020-10-13T19:53:39Z

The gameplay is something I did not quite understand. I wish the game had a feeling from the intro artwork, which is such a beautiful piece!

I really liked the writing and a story. Having more time, assets and redone gameplay, this may be such a gem to play in the future!

Huge props for mr. Hawking. Keep up the good work!

Time Code by Oleksandr Shchavinskyi 2020-10-08T21:57:19Z

The game has cute little character and very solid foundation with mechanics and great level design. The only wish I have is to make some improvements to the jumping collisions and the jumping itself. Other than that, a very solid entry and great title! Job well done!

10 Seconds from Death by brads.space 2020-10-08T21:39:21Z

I totally love the mood, fast-pacing and the visuals of the game. Yet I think the 'grain' post process could be put a bit touch down. Also please make the jumping more responsive! Great job!

Stealth Line by HippolyteA 2020-10-13T19:59:29Z

I liked the idea and graphics that were quite cool ( maybe introduce a bit of zoom ? ). Unfortunately, it was only one map and I felt like zombies were not trying to catch me at all even when I got into their 'spot radius'. Apart from that, after drawing a line and making it for the first time, the second time the survivor went the completely different way than I have drawn before!

I like the execution of some mechanics, wish there was more wariation.

Nice job nontheless!

Looponaut by exopunk 2020-10-10T21:52:09Z

Visually cool, it resembles me a lot of Castelvania-like games. I liked the difficulty spike and the fact that you allowed speedrunning the last 2 levels especially. I would boost the meele attack or get rid of it completely as I only used ranged attack (infinite ammo, possible double damage etc). Good job! Keep it up!

Cycloop by Erlioniel 2020-10-10T21:47:27Z

The game is incredibly well polished. I love the graphics and have seen your take on 'differentiating' the same area with changing blocks of pixel art, which is a very subtle change which immediately removes the repetitiveness of the level design, smart! Would love to see fully working product with more puzzles, possible minimap(?) and maybe more elevation? Job well done! Keep it up guys!

Smells Like Chlorine by TheGreenWorm 2020-10-27T17:07:34Z

Such a great game, seen on many streams as well.

I enjoyed the visual-audio aspect as well as very clever way of implementing 'looping' into the game. Stanley Parable makers would be proud to see it! And this felt even more humane and real!

It's also the perfect example of why you should treat all of your empolyees with dignity, otherwise you can get mopped-up (get it? haha, I'll leave now).

Repeat Robot by Phi9009 2020-10-04T22:08:38Z

First LD maker here as well! Nice game!

Some quick feedback:

S key for loop repeat is in very bad position as I constantly think It's for making platform or hovering. Maybe other key would be an option?

Could not get past 2nd level as my 'ghosts' started their movement with slight offset, going in completely different directions than they were recorded at.

That's it!

Mouseherd by typeswitch 2020-10-05T00:27:14Z

A bit of feedback: Would be nice to be able to rotate in-spot to place arrow (or maybe it's just me), but I've figured out the controls quite fast anyway. Other than that, good job!

Rage Drift by Turubo Monkey 2020-10-06T17:37:49Z

Don't know if it's just me, but are the controls really off? I've driven Pandas before (hell, even turbocharged Uno!) and they didn't handle like this :smile: Jokes aside, I would like to see gameplay from devs to understand how to control the vehicle on the track properly.

Mike.cpp by shan.hsgames 2020-10-05T21:32:30Z

Had a very nice time playing this game. The pixel art synchronize well with the audio you made. A bit unclear start but I quickly managed to get the basic idea of what's going on. Q: Is there only one ending? Very well done for first entry. Great Job!

Donut Island by odedro987 2020-10-10T21:57:34Z

Okay, first things first. Plase introduce more visibility to the game. The background color does not resemble me the shiny donut icing you should stand upon, more like ... ( you know :D ). Maybe being on the icing would be much better to improve visuals and ** visibility ** as the bullets and the character and enemies would be more visible.

I like the gameplay loop and the fact you have to keep yourself on the donut. Maybe too keep the pace, you could just collect enemies into the donut center the similar way the trashcan does?

Also, SMG/Rifle should have better damage than pistol :D

Nontheless, very fun and addicting game. Job well done and keep up the good work!

SORO BORO by nethead 2020-10-05T00:02:54Z

Hi! The visuals are astounding. The only thing I would point out is the slippery movement of the character. Seems kinda non-responsive at times :)

Vicious Circle by CameronOtten 2020-10-05T20:33:49Z

Well done execution of the concept. Greatly combined designs aesthetics with audio experience. Beautiful game. I ascended fully with white holes. Great job!

Looped by Leo Red 2020-10-11T00:11:55Z

Cool concept with simple, yet effective execution on the theme. I found the game kinda hard though, as rate of fire vs amount of balls coming in might have been balanced better, as well as added more smoothness or speed to the character, so we can swing / utilize more space in the circle itself. Good job nontheless, I have enjoyed the game!

Stuck In a Hoard (While Looping) by WitekWitek 2020-10-11T00:19:28Z

Tried toying with the game for a while. Find the concept cool, however the gameplay seemed to me like game of 'balls' from Unity out-of-the-box projects with some features added. Would also enjoy bigger, more versatile map. As for the tutorial, for me (144Hz Screen) the tutorial passed so fast I couldn't grasp around all the information, but understood from context later on. It's also very easy to get out of bounds :) I think you have the foundation for your game and just need to polish it. Keep up the good work!

CoisuLoop by EssiJe 2020-10-05T17:19:45Z

Very simple game, nice graphics I must say. Longing for longer gameplay though, too simple for the comfort...

Got a good ending though!

PS: when you constantly tap 'R', you can see the map for split second which can be exploited I guess.

Purgatory Mechanic by Flawed 2020-10-10T21:49:07Z

Solid foundation for good game. Art and music is very cool and the gameplay is almost what it should be. Unfortunately, it gets really repetitive especially when you memorized the pattern. There should be more variation or changes to rooms or maybe another pair of souls introduced. Nontheless, it's a very good entry! Nice job!

Brace for Impact by worblir 2020-10-06T19:54:42Z

The Idea for the game is very good. It longs for a bit of improvements though. Most important thing is the fact that it's very hard for humans to distort vision between two lanes that are going apart from each other. Second thing is the actual perspective. I feel like I can't rely sometimes on my vision to make correct assumption on where in the 3D plane the red bar is supposed to hit. There's no clear indication whether I am about to be hit or will I dodge.

I may have an idea to solve this problem out though. How about making the plane a bit longer (but still not accesible) and make the flor with corresponding lanes to the loops, which will color when they're about to be hit? I think the best way to describe it is with screenshot concept I have drawn for you. There's an extra field plane that tells you the positioning of the blocks hitting your plane to level the field of perspective.

Perfect example of equation : humor^(fun) Would like to be more precise with audio based on movement. Other than that, good job and hilarious entry!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Space?Space!SPACE by Meta-link 2021-05-02T14:37:06Z

Had fun with this one!

Pros:

- Simple, clean, pleasing to eye graphics - Good UI - Like the arrows indicating your nearest powerup (health/fuel)

Cons:

- I think the background is maybe a little bit too dense with stars etc... maybe adding more 'whitespace' between could improve it. - I feel like there's not enough fuel economy to keep you going, especially after 7-8k+ - No sounds or any kind of music (but you opted out Audio anyway) - Not my type of 'deeper and deeper' (but again, I didn't follow theme much this time around) - Also, it feels like the game was intended to be played with controller and not keyboard (shooting movement style)

Overall a solid entry, with space to improvement. Good job!

MineWell by superpokeunicorn 2021-04-30T20:56:31Z

Managed to beat all levels!

Pros:

- NES nostalgia visual/audio-wise - Funky sounds - Game-feel - Levels properly scoped (not too long)\ - Funny main-character animations

Cons:

- Very short in terms of levels quantity - Only 1 extra mechanic apart from movement - A bit too less contrasty level / score font against the background. Very hard to see. - I think you spend a lot of time on the protagonist and less on the actual environment, like enemies (are those enemies a lightbulbs with legs? :smile: )

Overall:

Very simple mechanic and polished entry towards Compo. Definitely a good job!

HackDeck by Kerdelos 2021-05-06T10:06:38Z

I got to the end!

Pros:

- Clear objectives and gameplay - Variety of movement - Properly scoped difficulty - Variety of powerups-cards - Moody soundscape - Cool graphics

Cons:

- A slight better movement indication would be better, yet it's hard to say at the moment how exactly I would change it - Maybe a more aggressive enemy nodes would be cool (do they even move / expand?)

Overall, a job well done!

Le bateau ivre by thebmxeur 2021-04-30T21:05:21Z

Hmmm..

Pros:

- Mood and all it's weirdness - Love ASCII - style octopus

Cons:

- A bit confusing from the start, but you get a grasp of it after a short while - Kinda... short?? ( got through Octopus and repeated a cycle once ) - Music would improve a ton, but you opted out audio anyway

Overall:

As a non-coffe drinker, is that how people feel while drinking one cup? If so, I want to try it :smile: Definitely a room to improve, especially begging for any kind of audio. Good job nontheless :)

The Last Spores by pestodesign 2021-05-05T18:23:56Z

After loosing too many spores

Pros:

- Root-idea is very well executed - Love the simple graphics - Integrated tutorial - Easy and understandable mechanics - Quite good pathfinding - No more Cola caps

Cons:

- Too much RNG, especially with levels generation. I tried over 15 times and max I got was 11/20 spores. Sometimes you just don't get enough water, no matter how good your path prediction is. - Pathfinding sometimes went around obstacles, that were easily passable by root - Wish there was more variety in - Wish there was any audio :(

Actually, No More Cola Caps would make perfect in-game currency!

I see that game was scoped towards mobile, which I think is the best place to land. I would play it myself during toilet brakes (it's not an insult!!!!)

Good job!

Shook by SleepyStudios 2021-05-04T19:57:12Z

After getting beaten up by Minigun Sharks

Pros:

- Now I understand why my father loves fishing - Simple, yet wonderful graphics - Minigun Sharks with rocket launchers on top - AK-47 Sharks - Quite challenging gameplay - Good sound design - Quite addictive

Cons:

- Of course it's by design, but the guns movement is tiny bit too dependent on the basket - Wish there was rocket launcher

Can't really complain! Great job! I enjoyed it while being annoyed a bit. I'm going now to hunt some fish... with TOW System.

Saving Greg by LJFMX 2021-04-30T22:08:20Z

Saving Greg is the best thing to do at midnight!

Pros:

- Light, easy game - Humorous 3D Art - Interactive experience - Worth playing to the end! - I love personal voice acting in game jams! Delivers the best experience possible

Cons:

- I wanted to save Greg :(

Good Job! Now, let me save the Greg!!

Dynamite Depths by Peter Jonsson 2021-05-04T18:46:46Z

After all levels bombed

Pros:

- Simple and solid concept - TNT always rocks - Simple and effective graphics - Properly scoped difficulty - Gradual introduction to new mechanics - Multiple obstacles - Funny music - Good sound effects - Nice touch with skip

Cons:

- Wish it was longer - Don't know if the music really fit the game, but hey, at least it's there!

A fun game and solid compo entry, which would definitely be playable as mobile title! Great job!

LD48 - Operation Reconnaissance by Craig 2021-05-01T10:53:51Z

Had a blast, but couldn't finish 3rd level, because of pathfinding of my units :(

Pros:

- Commandos meets Gorrila-escape game (Ape Out) - Clear and well-done graphics - Variety of controls over the unit (dash, walk, aim, reset aim) - Easy to learn - hard to master type of game

Cons:

- Would love any more kind of sounds. Especially music when you're detected (Snake?? Snake!?) - Pathfinding of your unit around corners is quite random (janky?), got my unit wiped out few times because one the guys decided to stay on the other side of the wall - Better inication to when you're spotted (red vision cone instead of purple for enemy?)

Overall a great entry for Compo, lacking only music / sounds for othwerwise a well-executed game. Great job!

Meltdown, Down, Down by Cruise Elroy 2021-05-01T11:12:54Z

Had much fun playing this! Very addictive!

Pros:

- Kidna fast-paced, addictive gameplay - Requires you to think - Stunning graphics and animations for 48hrs - Polished gameloop - Got harder the deeper you go - Sound ques are very good and the item purchase is rewarding - Quite nice-though ecenomy system

Suggestions:

- Well, I couldn't bounce off walls of the screen, so got stuck once - Lacking any type of music - Maybe extend the time a bit or set it as difficulty levels - Someone suggested a teleport. Worth considering as upgrade.

Overall, insanely-polished compo entry, lacking only music. Job well done!

Mission: Descend by JuanJ7 2021-05-02T20:33:22Z

After bombing half the planet

Pros:

- Liked the graphics and animations of main character - Simple concept - Soothing music

Cons:

- Controls are not that responsive, but it maybe due to environment - Bombs spawning only on top of you does not sound like a good idea (lost some bombs trying to get out of them) - Wall climbing is impossible between 2 pieces of wall tiles on top of eachother. I tried moving my character up and it got stuck in the middle of the wall. Happened a lot of times - There should always be a way to come back to ship. Sometimes I was left behind without any wall to climb back - Running next to ship to loose all energy rewards me with next day and energy tank?

Overall, cool game that needs some QoL polish. Good Job!

Guardians of the Facility by cireneikual222464 2021-05-05T18:39:45Z

After reaching the reactor:

Pros:

- Good soundscape - Interesting monsters. Something of a mashup between Resident Evil and Tiberium bioblobs - Variety of levels - Simple gameplay and controls

Cons:

- Enemies are not really treathening - Lack of depth in levels - Can't run'n'gun

Decent job nontheless!

The Red Crystal by Bastienre4 2021-05-02T19:24:35Z

Quite spooky, had a good (yet short) time!

Pros:

- Me like story-driven games with some lore - Subtle, yet visible presence of monsters - Nice, well lit environment - Good soundques and ambient sounds with a bit of thrilling music - Quite engaging story, wish there was more - Actually, quite spooky

Cons:

- Wish it was longer

Overall, solid compo entry. Good job!

Me:Tree! - New Roots by Groggi 2021-05-02T22:10:19Z

After making tons of Bonzais in Creative mode.

Pros:

- Game is beautiful - Wonderful color-pallete - Tears-worthy piano music - Mood and relaxation is really there - Trying to catch how fragile the life can be - Love the root / tree mechanic as well as branching off in every direction - Creative mode is huge plus

Cons:

- Very subjective, but I found UI a bit too confusing. - As well as indicating a priority on resources... Maybe it's just me

Overall a gem that needs just a slight polish. Great Job!

Ski Trip by Rhoka 2021-05-04T18:19:54Z

Ok

Pros:

- Whatever you're smoking, it's working - Amazing level design - Amazing trip graphics - Great, subtle transition into madness - Music is a nice touch - I like skiing!

Cons:

- Movement is less fluid than I anticipated - I can see parts of levels overlapping - I felt like sometimes the hitbox of the world decided to go against me

The game is just an art to enjoy. Great work!

Gem Raiders by Hare Software 2021-04-30T21:36:33Z

Had a lot of fun! Unfortunately I died miserabely all the time :sweat_smile:

Pros:

- Someone above mentioned LEGO Rock Raiders. Yes, this is a spiritual successor to it, which I adore! - Beggining of the game reminded me of Incubation as well (very old game) - Graphic wise pretty solid (pixel-wise) - Polished and well-executed mechanics - Big +++ For Shift + LMB commands (multiple tasks) - Big plus for auto-behaviour of units - Scary and deadly enemies

Cons:

- Begs for music and other sound ques - Begs for more 'flashy' environment - maybe a bit darker with some glowing stones of power gems?

Overall though, pretty solid game for JAM. I liked it a lot. Great job!

Deep down the asteroid by FrauKauz 2021-05-02T19:56:56Z

After treating the asteroid with too many acid and finding green rectangle

Pros:

- simple concept - acid drilling ftw - funky graphics

Cons:

- Wish there was ANY sound! - kinda unpredictable enemy behaviour - A bit too short?? - Can still die after winning

Decent job nontheless. Congrats!

Blue Eye - Salvage & Rescue by PurpledArtFrog 2021-05-02T18:42:31Z

Yooo, wouldn't stream this edition, but decided to give this one a try!

Pros:

- Simple mechanics - Sound effects are cool - Music is ok - Moody, relaxing graphics

Cons:

- A bit messy UI, had to spend few tries to understand what am i doing and what am I gaining / losing each meter - Confusing 'obstacles'. The 'platforms' obstacles deriving from the walls especially. I thought there were repair stations or something and I got screwed over few times because of it. Are those suppose to give you plating?? - I assume battery level was something that allow you to keep moving? Hard to say - Battery Level: Sometimes I got to negative values and could not regain controls, even with catching fish that are supposed to give me battery back. Happened 7/10 times. - Development build: I was able to slow down or even push back up using *Space* button. Not sure whether that's intentional (not mentioned in controls) - Development build: I was able to speed-up or slow down time using 3 and 4 keys. Not sure whether that's intentional (not mentioned in controls) - There should be a better way to avoid debris, as it's a tiny bit too fast, but only IMO.

Decent job nontheless!

Rogue Elevator by Danga 2021-05-01T11:28:35Z

Almost got to the bottom after few tries!

Pros:

- Appealing graphics - Auto-rifle has 'oompf' kind-of feeling - Variety of enemies - Random spawns - Strafing and controls

Cons:

- Complete lack of indication with sounds or anything else where next wave is spawning. You could take an inspiration from DOOM series, where not only you have a clear sound on where enemy is spawning, but also the visual "entering the arena" effect. That killed my run few times, because I was not aware that 2 suicide enemies spawned behind me and just exploded randomly... - Once you got auto-rifle, all other guns become obsolete. - Rocket launcher (I think?) projectile is too slow. - Auto-reload feature is a must in that kind of games. Player don't want to think whether his next gun has any ammo in it while doing andrenaline-based shooting at multiple targets - Better indication about entering lower levels would be cool. Changing color of tiles or even background would suffice, telling the player that real shit is happening.

Don't get discouraged by the cons. For 48hr it's a decent job! Good work!

Deepwater Settlement by Pincushion 2021-05-03T19:32:14Z

After launching million harpoons on poor sea flora

Pros:

- Underwater tower-defense-ish-survival game! - Like the fish models - Easy to understand mechanics and controls - Fishing gives you plastic, *heh, ironic*

Cons:

- I feel like the game needs a bit more of: - Weapons - Sounds - Feeling of progression (it's there, just make it more rewarding)

Other than that, keep up the good work!

Dive To China by SoarenDev 2021-05-01T12:05:25Z

Didn't make it to the China, but it was worth trying!

Pros:

- Dead-easy idea with good execution - Funny story behind the game - Like the simple graphics (apart from obstacles, but it's fine!)

Cons:

- Can I really reach China though? - After 400+ score, the game becoes to dense - Missing a healthbar - Hard to determine, what exactly is your hitbox. Ended up hitting stuff I though I would not hit.

Good job nontheless!

Unholy Hole by RafaBriet 2021-05-02T21:48:57Z

Managed to finish the game

Pros:

- Good graphics - Clear level-design - Nice and pleasing to eye color palette - Intuitive controls

Cons:

- No coyote time to help player with jumping puzzles - No animations - Skeletons can shoot while being backwards to you - No health / damage indication - No more of lava-effects (any particle system would do) - Lacking checkpoint system (damn the 3rd level put me into pain) - Confusing change of pace between 3rd and 4th stage (falling down arcade)

Keep up the work, add some animations and effects and maybe intro to the actual game. Good job nontheless!

Deep Hunting by LudumDareDevil 2021-05-03T17:29:21Z

After going out of the woods for other games

Pros

- hey, you didn't use the game engine, hipster! - looks like cardridge game, which could actually be fun - like the main character - didn't need to install Java (always a +)

Cons

- well, that's what you get when trying a no game engine game on game jam :sweat_smile:

But jokes aside, it's a nice try! Good job!

Penguin Paradise by LucaVazz 2021-05-01T17:44:30Z

OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS SO ADDICTING WHYYY.

Pros:

- Factor.io had a baby with Satisfactory in Isometric dimension, creating this - Penguins are instalike - There are different kinds of Penguins, - Actually, there's lots of them! - It's kinda balanced to a certain point, which is still pretty impressive - I spent too much time playing it - I adore Voxel art! - Music is a nice touch - Economy / Base building and complexity is deep and very well done for that short amount of time

Cons:

- The game does not allow quick menuing (esc, click, esc, click etc) - The game does not allow multiple building spawning (have to go to menu (wait for menu?!) and build and then select again etc) - You have to be REALLY Consistent in your building behaviour, otherwise you will have no clue what building produces what Penguin type (Tents / houses). Would love any icon or indication above - Above points applies to utility buildings. Would love to see what I am actually given at time being - The timing on spawning penguins is strange, seems a bit random - When clicking on any building menu, clicking 'close' while menu is on the other buldings may trigger menu for the building which is under the button. Got quite annoyed after few times - Adding more penguins to do the same job SHOULD NOT reset the progres!

Overall a very addicting and promising title, which just begs for QoL features and more music and extras. Would love to see an actual product out of this. Great Job so far!

We Must Go Deeper by Vederant 2021-05-03T19:44:21Z

Had a blast through mines!

Pros:

- I love the graphics with Borderland's style shader on top of it! - Fancy UI - Challenging mechanics - Easy to grasp, definitely hard to master

Cons:

- Music, please? - Wish I was able to type down with keyboard any type enter instead of clicking, but hey, it's your choice of controls - Maybe it's just me, but I would not mind having the cart view bigger (half-half even)

Other than that, solid entry. Great job!

The Lift by Nuanda79 2021-05-05T21:03:14Z

After saving my ass at -200 Floors

Pros:

- Funky graphics - Actually quite adrenaline-based gameplay - Nice soundscape - It's cool to see your mistakes making the cables go random - I like Italian accent!

Cons:

- I actually didn't know what to do with the cables at the first glance, had to give it few tries

One thing I saw is that, you guys seem not to rate other games. I think playing other people games and rating them not only would be a nice way to checkout how others solve problems, but also to get more attention to your creation, giving you ability to reach more reviews and valuable feedback through Smart system.

Hard to say more, but you guys did a good job nontheless! Mamma mia!

The little abnormality by airwaffle 2021-04-30T21:18:45Z

** Deep breath **

Okay!

Pros:

- What in the actual **** is that? - Don't approach without a beer, two and some other injections to your body - Living in Norway as immigrant, I immediately sensed Norwegian/Finnish humor there :sweat_smile: - Experience on it's own - Funky sounds - Main character is... unique

I won't write cons. This game is 'a piece of art' and art can be very subjective to score. Would post it at Munch Museum in Oslo.

Just maybe a bit better controls.

Thank you for having nightmares today :joy:

Deep Mind by JRevel 2021-05-02T18:56:04Z

My thoughts after getting fired:

Pros:

- Unique concept, - Enough complexity - Variety of cards - Good / Bad / Normal decision making tree

Cons:

- I just used cards when they popped out in yellow instead of even reading the tasks - Because of that, I never really felt connected to the story - The concept is cool, but there seems to be more negative than positive output. Makes me less motivated - The ??? Cards are a tight too fast with debufs - After certain amount of time, there's too much going on on the screen - To my taste, too much dramatic music. It's not a dungeon crawler.

Overall, a good concept that needs polishing and balancing to make it more playable. Decent job!

Deep Mind by JRevel 2021-05-03T15:11:41Z

@jrevel I got the point with overworking or depression in terms of black cards. Hence my very subjective opinion about me not liking the gameplay, hence it reminded me times where I was on a brink of depression (fully recovered though). No offense of course! ๐Ÿ˜Š

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-04-26T08:50:16Z

@listonos thanks for playing! This is my first time trying economy/strategy game so I didn't know the depth would grow exponentially as well as getting a proper economy calculation.

Currently, I have following formula

Houses owned X singlehousereward(10) + cows happiness - cows unhappiness - cows owned X singlecowmaintenenace(5) - connectionsLength X 1.

Cows happines is just cows X 0.5, so after 5 cows were getting more than 1 point extra.

Cows unhappiness is only given if we have more houses than cows so (houses connected - cows owned). If its 0 or less, don't give points, otherwise substract.

I wanted to introduce some stages like more expenses or connections of different type.

Of course coming up with working formula the first time is almost impossible :rofl: , but I will try to correct it!

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-04-26T09:40:34Z

@listonos yes. I think, In the end, happy/unhappy should be one factor only. I also think that I need some factor to grow in a way that it produces constant challenge, but that I will think of later this week (can't change it now ayway, only tweaking the current values of formula is allowed I think)

@effarek thanks for playing! Glad you liked ithe moo moos๐Ÿ˜…

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-04-26T19:34:18Z

@magus77 Thanks! Considering late arrival to compo, I haven't scoped this one pretty well. Yes I did all the MOO's myself at 2:25 AM (30 minutes before deadline), trying not to wake my girlfriend :rofl:

Also I wanted something out of the box so I completely understand not meeting exactly the theme. Wish I could go with my other plan, but my gut told me to go all the way with moo-moo's. NO REGRETS! :cow:

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-04-27T10:24:55Z

@kuro Thanks for deep feedback! This is actually extremely accurate to what I would self-review this game as of now, so It's good to see someone looking at this the same way :)

As for the theme. I work professionally in oil/gas drilling industry, so oilrig sim or similar was my first thought of course, but I decided to go outside of the box a bit. Therefore, it's completely understandable that I haven't fit the theme much once I went with my gut feeling, but the moo-moos behind my head gave me no regrets! :sweat_smile:

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-05-03T07:20:34Z

@retrome @soarendev @michaelyount @lucavazz @viperux @bastienre4 @timo-gass @retrome @mak6 @ludumdaredevil @pincushion @vederant @rhoka @thejohnyfeed

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the moo-moo-xperience!

I am well aware that economy is completely disbalanced, but in a positive way!

The leftover house bug is, well, my brain problem that forgot at 1AM in the morning, that Arrays starts at index 0 :sweat_smile:

Tons of stuff to improve nontheless. I already have plenty of ideas, but will wait until Play + Rate is over :)

And yes, as I mentioned before, the game went it's own way instead of following strictly the theme. :cow2:

Thanks again! I will try to rate back games I have left to rate soon! And later off to Danger Zone!

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-05-03T10:00:44Z

@purpledartfrog Thanks!

Static game was supposed to be a thing for only houses as I inteded moo moo-s to move around. Of course had time only to select between movement and sounds... Guess what I picked? :cow:

Same with the spawning mechanic. It's a pure luck of space that houses did not touch each other :D

Can you provide me more info on when the game froze??

MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-05-03T10:02:51Z

@verygenuinecraze Thanks!

The actual economy balance is defined somewhere above, but I'll put it there

``` Currently, I have following formula
housesConnected X singleHouseReward(10) + cowsHappiness - cowsUnhappiness - cowsOwned X singlecowmaintenenace(5) - connectionsLength X 1.
Cows happines is just cows X 0.5, so after 5 cows were getting more than 1 point extra. ```
I actually added super cows and uber cows to the game, but decided not to include them in the shop. A random event would be that cows.. just decided to go their way :cow2:
MilCo. by MikoziQ 2021-05-03T15:14:35Z
@purpledartfrog seems like menu bug I mentioned in known issues. Will investigate after jam! Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š
โ€‹Nyctophobia by TheJohnyFeeD 2021-05-03T20:04:32Z
Had an absolute blast shooting my way through! (Played patched version)
Pros:
- Love the pseudo-horror aspects - Very good graphic-wise - Soundscape adds to the mood massively - It's kind of reverse 'deeper and deeper' theme game - Guns have actual 'ompf' feeling - Mood is very much there
Cons:
- Melee combat sucks to be completely honest, took me a bit of time to understand timings to not get grabbed - Wish there was any boss fight - Enemy AI gets stuck on corners - It does not really fit in a 'humor' grading, but I don't remember whether you could opt it out or not
I also think you took a bit of inspiration from your previous entry, which was a blast to play as well. Solid work here as well, congratz!
Deep End by SubMan 2021-05-01T16:38:20Z
Actually I decided to go upwards. Managed to get -700-ish before hitting dead-end :smile:
Pros:
- Game is very difficult, yet rewarding, - Wonderful, calm audio sound and backgroung music. Felt like depths of Europa's ocean! - Graphic wise very simple, yet beautiful with the sonar effect - Damn the gameplay is actually addicting
Cons:
- No room for error, even if the Hitboxes don't like you. I felt like i was still few dozen centimeters away from the rock but I crashed nontheless, - Definitely a gamepad only game if you wanna move with the engines mechanics. On keyboard it felt really confusing for couple of tries - Not really a Con per se but... is there any end to the game?
Overall a very polished game, lacking a bit of adjustment to difficulty. Great Job!
Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-05-01T16:49:39Z
Finished the game with 11805!
Pros:
- Deadspace with rouge AI and not aliens - Simple and effective mechanic - Correct controls - Not to difficult, easy to grasp by anyone - Appealing graphics (even though it's probably 3rd party as you opted out graphics?) - Level Design is cool!
Cons:
- Monotone music - Sound: Laser from character does not have this 'ompf' kind of feeling. Not gonna tell anything to lasers from turrets as the sound is space does not exist per say. - Lasers might have been more shiny - I could go outside of the view with my character, loosing it for a brief of time before I managed to comeback. 1440p screen, probably camera viewpoint issues. - A bit more animation to turrets would've been nice (then just open/close instantly or change their appearance completely)
@viperux They opted out graphics voting, probably because they used 3rd party asset pack.
Overall a good job done!
Pokefish : Gotta flash em' all ! by Legolula 2021-05-01T10:22:28Z
Had a nice journey to the bottom and collected all poke-poke!
Pros:
- Audio-visuals makes the mood appropriate at certain depths. Overwhelming darkness below is a big + - My first encounter with the big squid / octopus was terryfing as it was pointing legs towards me, so insta DeadSpace moments there - Easy to control - Properly scoped (not too long), good places to put in the oxygen support. - Like the coral reef effect you tried there at certain ground levels! - Exploration atmosphere is very much within the gameplay
Cons:
- Tutorial seems out-of-space graphic-wise and is overwhelming with information to the user. Perhaps in-game tutorial would be better!
Overall a great, properly-scoped entry. Had an enjoyable experience!
LumenBrink by mrawde 2021-05-04T19:47:46Z
Completed all levels!
Pros:
- Simple and cool graphics - Enjoying and enganging gameplay - Smooth introduction to harder puzzles - Actually well-scoped difficulty - Great, that you can select different machines and dig without any order to complete the task - Multiple controllers support +++
Cons:
- The 'music' got into my head, it's still 'ding donging'
Overall can't say anything other than solid job for Compo! Great and well-scoped puzzle game!
Cave Expedition by ABplayz 2021-04-30T21:11:40Z
@abplayz don't remember honestly. I'll try it later this week.
That Sinking Feeling by MorePixels 2021-05-04T18:35:25Z
After reaching bottom and hitting button
Pros:
- Cute, hand-drawn graphics! - Fish in a tank is a humorous touch - Funky animation of main character - Good soundscape for mood building
Cons:
- I'm not exactly sure what the goal is - Only 3 screens were ok to activate - VERY JANKY ladder controls: sometimes you climb, sometimes you drop, you slide on it like on ice. - Because of ladders, I got stuck in a metal wall (screenshot attached) - Some arrows indicating 'event' were broken in place - Kitchen, first aid, bombs and electric plant events - I had no clue whether I should go check the are or click some buttons. Kitchen told me to press E, so I pressed it multiple times and nothing happened - Wish there was other sounds - No HTML5 Version (only link to downloadable)
A nice try nontheless, especially graphic-wise! Keep up the good work!
2021-05-04 (2).png
A Dungeon by PxlDev 2021-05-04T19:27:02Z
I found the treasure!
Pros:
- Simple and good graphics - Good level design - Fun mechanics and traps - Simple soundscape - Thank you for the checkpoint system - Cute Miner character
Cons:
- Cinemachine setup you used is very janky and makes everything played like without V-sync (stuttering character) - Camera does not follow movement correctly. Probably cinemachine setup has too wide offset of character follow - No coyote-time for ridges to allow player late jumping - I think air-winds are a bit too random - Floor, for stone'y one, felt a bit icy?
Good work nontheless!
RECONDITE by Re-Lo 2021-05-02T19:48:15Z
After so many SHINDEIRU
Pros:
- well polished design graphic wise - well picked color palette - love protagonist animations - spooky ambient soundtrack - sheer difficulty - good and simple controls
Cons:
- Those kind of games are tricky to make when you need to introduce player to a new obstacle / mechanic. You did it well first 3 levels, but the 4th one was just exponentially complex than all previous combined... - I could not really grasp the point of height at which my player would die. That means, there were part in the level I was sure I would die, yet I did not. However, there were parts of the level, where jumping instead of just moving down was killing me. Kinda counter-intuitive. - The camera movement could not keep up with my character sometimes (whether it was running or falling)
A solid entry nontheless. Good work!
Ludum Dare 48 - Deep trouble in Little town? by Geo3D 2021-05-05T20:52:50Z
I like getting into trouble!
Pros:
- Wonderful town and aesthetics - Cute characters - Easy and relaxing gameplay - Certainly, the big time went into level design and the town seems authentic - Good lightning / Ambient occlusion
Cons:
- Oh I wish it was longer - ANY Kind of music would improve a ton... - Hard to find more due to shortness of the game
Decent job! Had a small, relaxing experience with some background italian music!
By the way, what rule made you switch to JAM?
Delve Deeper by the__baldur 2021-05-02T20:14:51Z
Oi, pour me some Ale!
Pros:
- Dwarf adventurer... - That heals himself with Ale! - lovely graphics - nice soundscape - variety of enemies - Challenging enough level design and mechanics - Animations!
Cons:
- No drinking Ale animation! ( I thought that would be the first thing!) - Don't know if you introduced coyote time, but I sometimes felt reaching the platform in my mind, but game told me nope - Once enemy pin you down (goblin), there's no way of recovering... - No ending? (got to last room with all others) - Gold would be useful to something (open secret doors etc.)
Overall, a definitely solid entry, especially to Compo. Well done!
Deep Sea by Phlebas 2021-05-01T10:38:18Z
Very relaxing, yet a bit saddening story. Decided to cut the rope :)
Pros:
- As a JS dev myself, I love how easily you put everything toghether code-wise! - Love the simple pixel art and graduate color / mood change - Actually, overall monotone color pallete is spot-on - Blue whale is a nice touch - Simple audio ques - Liked the narrative, even though a bit sad one
Cons:
- Maybe a bit too simple audio, but it may make sense in long-term - Maybe a bit more animation into the character - Lacking other types of 'obstacles'
Overall a well-executed entry. Love that you used JS. Great Job!
The Last Place by sebirit 2021-05-04T21:00:05Z
Had an emotional moment
Pros:
- Deep, yet relaxing atmosphere - There's a beauty in the graphical settings and minimalism there. Especially on the beach - Piano makes everything better - Very good soundscape - Kinda dreamy feel
Cons:
- Wish you could tweak to less blur just a tiny bit (but just tiny!) - Wish it was longer... - Could increase shadows rendering size, cause I could see some shadows dissapearing on the beach, breaking immersion jsut a bit
Overall, a great and relaxing entry. Good job!
Space Cave by Timo Gass 2021-05-02T14:55:08Z
Okay, got to 700m
Pros:
- Simple idea - Good, a bit floaty controls (intended) - Good that you can bounce out of surfaces and not crash - Good that enemies follow you and not despawn, making it a bit harder - Adding to the point above, it's nice that you can try 'skipping' a level, but it's a short reward only
Cons:
- Would love more variety in the levels - A bit better ques whether you're hit or not would be nice. The red aura is subtle and sometimes hard to read when you're trying to fight back - Lack of extra enemies (multiple-shot guy? dashing-guy?) - Ligthing is off, seems like it's half-baked, half-realtime and the walls are not getting correct light from your character flashlights.
Overall a decent job for first Ludum Dare game!
Blobby Da Blobfish by somestufz 2021-04-30T21:58:57Z
Had some fun playing the game!
Pros:
- quite.. charming! - pixelart in it's most programming-art form - fun and light - #loveTheHashtagTurtle
Cons:
- damn those controls (wsad + mouse to aim would be much better) - music gets really into your head, which is both good and bad for me at least - apart from music, nothing else in terms of sounds
Overall a light and enjoyable experience. Good job!
Taaanks! by Squerf 2021-04-30T21:48:01Z
Eyyy, managed to win!
Pros:
- Arcade'y old-school look nostalgia (reminds me of Pegasus Contra color-wise) - Like the background colors and overall color pallete used - Clear, dead-easy mechanics and controls - Destructible terrain
Cons:
- As someone pointed out, there's no really much theme in there (don't worry, it kinda hit my game as well this time haha) - Game begs for any type of music - VERY LOUD SOUNDS
Overall a good game for Compo, not for this theme though :sweat_smile: Great job nontheless!
LD49 — Unstable
Girl in a red car by Listonos 2021-10-04T18:58:12Z
After getting done with the tasks
Pros:
- I loved the storytelling - The variety of objectives and items is a nice touch - Liked the color palette and contrast design - React used, a man of culture I see - Imagination works wonders here - I actually wondered if repairing specific item might have... **unforseen consequences** :smirk:
Cons:
- Storing people progress could be super easily achieveable by using LocalStorage (until cache is dumped) - Missed opportunity on Easter Egg (Can't say due to spoilers)
Great entry overall! I enjoyed it very much!
Serene Stability by jharler 2021-10-04T01:33:46Z
I got to the 8th level, then the Unity crashed for me (webGL), couldn't get past it.
Nevertheless!
Pros:
- I'm always a fan of such 'clicky' games. Especially, when you get your mind out after achiving 'stability' - Speaking of which, hard-on theme reading. I like it! - Great usage of simple graphics - Music is very relaxing. Wish I had time to make my games sound like this. - Easy to grasp, hard to master - Different 'items' makes the challenge more fun!
Cons:
- Unfortunately, the exact area-of-effect of each item is very hard to read. For example, I am not sure when attractor actually pulls the stabilizer. This makes the experience less fun. The effect is multiplied by the 'bouncy' animations of each helper item (like changing radius back and forth)... I would suggest indicating a bit harder approach here. - Encountered few crashes here and there, and the 3-4th level would not reset on it's own.
Overall, a great entry and a must-play. I was watching this one a bit closer, and I'm glad you finished!
A Crumbly Planet by kumber 2021-10-04T15:58:18Z
After making it to the rocket:
Pros:
- cute main character - easy controls - quite clear goal - plottwist is a nice touch - I don't really wanna know how you made 'earthquake' sound probably :joy:
Cons:
- There's no indication to which tile is good and which is not. I understand difficulty and such, but there's a very thin line between being it an enjoyable challenge, and boring "try-until-I-force-my-way-out" type of game. It does unfortunately lean towards the latter, especially on the second part of the story - I'm not exactly sure if earthquake should kill me or not. I couldn't tell
Good effort!
Unstable Marbles by Marc Grabow 2021-10-04T19:09:44Z
After splashing people with paint:
Pros:
- It's kawaii, - Cute graphics and audio - So glad to see kids enjoying gamedev with their parents! - Actually quite challenging gameplay - Fun in it's simplicity
Cons:
- Wish there were more to level design - My truck got stuck sometimes (especially on second level)
Great job!
EKHEM.... technically, you used daugher to record sounds! You havent made them yourself! That's against COMPO rules :joy: JK
Sir BaLancelot by FabDynamic 2021-10-04T16:38:10Z
238.69 seconds of *Balance A LOT*
Pros:
- It's so abstract I can't even - Yet it's so funny - Don't have time to read text, gotta go fast - I liked the music!
Cons:
- Balancelot should've been a cube :see_no_evil:
Cool game!
Unstable Working Conditions by J0ye 2021-10-21T19:55:10Z
Just managed to rate the game as promised, few minutes before rate deadline :D
Pros:
- Clever puzzles! - Fun physics - Easy to grasp gameplay - Fitting graphics - Nice small music - Hard to master (lol)
Cons:
- Don't know if it was just me, but game sounds in my instance were verrrryy hissssyy, which made me turn the volume way down (was the hissing comning from the lights?)
Good job!
Meowgician by Paul-Maxime 2021-10-07T15:13:23Z
I have made the kittengician restore his powers!
Pros:
- Cute graphics, I love the little cat! - Very good interactions with items and other characters - Clear visuals on the goal - Funky shakes of the screen are cool as well - A nice variety of recipies - Properly scoped difficulty, enough challenge but no to rushy - Good addition to music changing with the pace of the game
Cons:
- Would be nice to have a tutorial in-game instead of reading stuff from the page - The 'screen shake' seems like an ad-hoc thing rather than actual gameplay braker. It has no clear connection to why is it happening. I kinda assume it's due to the potions 'mixing' in the pot.
Great job! I had much fun! Meow!
Aimless Wizard by pvp 2021-10-04T01:59:54Z
After casting blind armageddon on 3/4 of the screen by mashing spacebar.
Pros:
- This is actually quite fun! - I like that you can get yourself killed. - Super easy controls - Funky Wizard animation - The old geezer is unstable indeed
Cons:
- Wish there was a bit more to it, but noone expects an aimless wizard to have more power, especially after 48hrs :tophat:
Good job!
HONK III by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2021-10-08T21:46:14Z
Alright, honkduckers
Pros:
- Honk goes 3D - And it's hongry - Has a honk of guns - And honk of enemies - Honk 64 graphics - With honk-on music
Cons:
- 6/9 not enough honk / RGB
Honestly though. An old-school visuals and good music. A bit too much in what's going on, but hey. It's a doom-like, right? It is supposed to take your attention!
A very good entry for the series finale. We can now honk peacefully. Great job guys!
An oddly SATISFYING game by Duck Reaction 2021-10-04T19:30:11Z
After making stuff oddly satisfying:
Pros:
- Clever use of simple graphics taken into visually pleasing image - Great soundscape! - Dead-easy mechanics - A bit of variety in the levels, partially introducing into more 'advanced' concepts - Some say it was too easy. I say it was proof-of-concept!
Cons (or rather a very personal opinion):
- Okay, I'm gonna be very straight and something I immediately though out loud while reading the description. This game does not sound 'unstable' to me at all. It would fit perfectly in a 'stuck in a loop' Theme of Ludum Dare 47. Here, I am not sure.
Gratz to entry and good job!
Totally Stable Docking Simulator by mlkvr 2021-10-04T01:15:25Z
Joe is trying to get docked while drinking!
After crashing the platform twice and breaking the game ( I managed to get a module without collisions, so it could jusy fly through stuff lol )
Pros:
- Easy to grasp controls - Relaxing gameplay - You know exactly what to do from the beginning - Nice speed indicator
Cons:
- Wish there were any sound effect, but I understand the struggle of Compo - Maybe it's just my screen, but the game is really dark for me. Any starlight background would give it a nice touch. Or a sun shining on the modules (that 'space' look)
Good job nontheless, welcome to the COMPO-league!
Totally Stable Docking Simulator by mlkvr 2021-10-04T15:46:36Z
@mlkvr If you're looking for inspiration, you can check out my first LD entry (47), in which I have made the starlight background: [Entry LD47 - Loopfield](https://tinyurl.com/7r299mm6)
Alchemy Courier by Paroxysmal 2021-10-04T16:20:30Z
Yes! I managed to **SPOILER** , heheheh.
Pros:
- Pixel art is my jam - And it has cool little fluid animations! - Good sound-ques - I liked the story! - Good use of space in level design - Good use of stability level, so even with few tries you can still deliver the potions without restrting a level. I actually did not need to at all! - Simple, yet satisfying mechanic - Pleasant to eye color palette
Cons:
- Wish there was maybe a tiny bit of pixel'y music, but I get that it's 'meant' for old hardware - Wish there was more obstacles or moving enemies
Great entry, good job!
Unstable Vampire: A Text based Infinite Runner by Dobryn 2021-10-04T16:29:53Z
Haha!
After getting 8 walls in a row:
Pros:
- I see this is built on React, a man of culture. - Like the pleasant to eye color palette and clear event indicators - Damn my fingers had extra excersise - The game likes to be brutal to you sometimes - I actually enjoyed text-based concept!
Cons:
- I am not sure about the theme connection, but the more I look at it... - I am missing this scenario - - You're approaching street (runjump) - - You ran-jumped through the street - - Vampire behind you got hit by a truck (haha) - - You laugh at the misery of a vampire
Great entry!
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-03T23:35:58Z
I have found a nasty bug that manipulated all of my UI outside of the scope, making it unresponsive for lower resolution, making the game unplayable on HTML5. I have deployed the fix, but for no avail. Enjoy Win10 and Linux Versions :cat:
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-04T01:56:35Z
@devparty @dobryn @paroxysmal Thanks for playing!
@mausimus @kumber Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I actually did know about the bug. It's actually quite simple to solve, but per Compo-rules, I decided to leave it be. Everyone should have 'Gamejam-feature' :)
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-04T02:05:33Z
@parafactual Hey! I actually intended to have a 'highlight' option available when you have a magnet over container... But I ran out of time trying to fix the actual 'grabbing' ( which I fixed 2 hours before deadline )
The Crane will only be able to catch anything if the 'raycast' hits the container directly below. That's why I went for stacking stuff close to each other, so you can easily grab it regardless.
But having 'highlight' would definitely be the first thing to add.
Thanks for playing!
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-04T12:55:58Z
@minidavid Thanks for playing!
@listonos Thanks for the feedback! I will probably include a fixed version in the end, as separate build :)
@marc-grabow Unfortunately, html5 is still not cooperating at all with me. Game works, but the UI is deep in space for some reason. I can try building desktop MacOS Version, if you're interested?
@jupiter-hadley Thanks for playing! Now I understand more, why highlight feature should be included. V1.1. will have that!
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-04T14:04:38Z
@marc-grabow I'll notify you in the comments section then. I should have today or tomorrow then :)
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-04T21:44:35Z
@kyboon Thanks for playing! Does the UI 'stretch' to the screen edges? Can you show me full screen screenshot?
Unshippable by MikoziQ 2021-10-04T22:16:10Z
@kyboon Thank you so much, that helps me a lot. I need to understand why this happened. It looks like camera does not like me this Ludum Dare as well :shrug:
AIROBICS by mausimus 2021-10-04T01:05:01Z
Okay! Time for my first review this Ludum Dare!
So, after getting fired on San Francisco, here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- This how I imagined an airtraffic control tycoon as a kid! - Spot-on graphics - Easy to get controls and goals - Multiple random events - Beep boop beep, I'm gonna crash! - I hate military bois - Speaking of military, I wish there was a game like this but with managing fligh patterns in a warzone! Oh the dreams.
Cons:
- Maybe I played too short, but I am not sure how 'no fly zones' and 'storms' could make me loose the game? - I wish there was a possible to make more reroutes, but I understand time vs feature challenge on COMPO. - Not really catching the 'unstable' vibe here, but the more I played, the more I got into the 'mind' of it I suppose.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a must-play. Great job!
Going Home by lb01 2021-10-04T01:50:51Z
I have found my way home.
Pros:
- Astounding use of graphics and audio. I have instant reminescence of the Journey and Abzu - Clever use of 'enemies on a budget'. You know immediately who you're fighting with by looking at the footsteps. The rest is left to your imagination. - You immediately know where to go, but the game still gives you a helping hand - Good use of lock-on camera during fights - Very good and subtle audio-ques - The journey makes you feel 'accomplished'
Cons:
- Minor pathing bug I encountered, nothing major - I just wish it was longer...
I've had a very relaxing journey. This game is a gem and a must-play. Great job!
Shipwreck! by astrochili 2021-10-08T21:03:17Z
After getting drowned too many times:
Pros:
- Cool mix between 2D and 3D - Very pleasant colour palette - Nice use of simple shapes - Quite clever physics - Easy to grasp mechanics - A bunch of levels is a plus
Cons:
- Wishing for any kind of sound / music - It's a very thin line of getting a mix of dimensional graphics good. While it works sometimes here, sometimes you loose the perspective of where you kinda are. Perhaps a different graphic perspective could work?
A good entry, I had fun! Good job!
Mars Contractor by Chameth 2021-10-08T22:30:19Z
Listening to the chillout music while sending my entire crew out of airlock!
Pros: - Simple graphics - Simple concept - Different puzzles - Nicely put hints - I'm allergic to apples, but I like when thing goes bananas - Nicely put, chillout music - Having a different failure endings is a nice touch
Cons: - A one-time-pony - Wish it was a tiny bit longer
Good job!
Bear Ferry Simulator by guntrip 2021-10-05T16:12:41Z
After ferrying a lot of plushy bois
Pros:
- The bears are super cute - Easy to grasp mechanic - Good gameplay loop - Ferrying bears feels somewhat satisfying - Actually quite good pchysics of the boat
Cons:
- I wish the music was a bit more... cheerful? - A bit lacking in the other graphics department
Good effort and good job!
ecosystem except there is no equilibrium and everyone dies probably by parafactual 2021-10-04T16:12:42Z
holy shit, I am either stupid, or can't properly play this game or both :joy:
Anyway, Pros:
- I think I actually understand the concept behind it, which is quite clever - This game is a perfect representation of a programmers life. Do some shit you don't understand in the console and get paid for it :joy: - I like the simple visuals - Quite bold to get a Python in Ludum Dare. Rare to see! - Not really catching a theme here... wait a minute...
Cons:
- My code works, I have no idea why :joy:
Clever concept!
LD50 — Delay the inevitable
Oops, I'm Sinking! by Criobite 2022-04-21T12:49:27Z
I've definitely got stuck in a loop of getting the water out (wrong LD hehe)
Pros:
- Good usage of simple forms to achieve the visuals - Good initial idea - Easy controls - Clear goal - Music and sound effects on +
Cons:
- Way too easy, - Not sure if icebergs do anything. I crashed into multiple and haven't gotten punished in any shape or form - You essentially visit only 2 places on the ship. No incentive is provided to dive deeper under the deck to maybe repair the damage or anything
A good effort with lacking late game. Keep up the good work tho!
Farming until bankruptcy by atomicptr 2022-04-04T21:56:02Z
After farming to the 1000 turn...
Pros: - Like the graphics. Immediate GB Pokemon vibes - Clear objectives* - Entertaining gameplay. I like that - Difficult just enough for the player - Rewarding for being cosistent (as farming should be)
Cons: - Audio is nothing to write poems about. Actually, it's just the effects (was there any music at all here?) - *Unfortunately, not clear what your next payment is going to be in terms of actual money. You can't prepare for the payment by paying strategically - Not sure how Pokemon-like graphic come with the idea of having to create something 'on your own' for COMPO, but I believe there's a thin line between what's good and not.
Overall, a great MVP for farming game! I enjoyed playing it. Great job!
Soak 'Em Out by Cruise Elroy 2022-04-04T21:43:37Z
Got almost to 100 droplets!
Pros:
- Great and addictive gameplay loop - Clear objectives that you learn from try and error (not in a bad way!) - Great design for the level and the actual idea behind it (Meow!) - That being said, I'm a sucker for pixel art anyway... - Color palette feels really warm and enjoying, even though the game is about a very rainy day. Great achievement here - Nicely done difficulty steepness - Great visual/audio sound ques for incoming danger - Soundtrack and music greatly complements the gameplay
Cons:
- I believe the car hitbox is rather unfair, but maybe it's just me not understanding the flow of it fully. Sometimes, I put the umbrella when car is already on screen and then it's 50/50 whether I get a penalty or not.
I loved it overall. A very solid and well-scoped entry. Excellent job!
Ludare OS by foxwater 2022-04-05T10:09:38Z
After watching too much tutorial on microcontrollers:
Pros:
- I love the design. The colour palette is exactly what I would thought of when launching it on Gameboy system - Interesting mechanics, yet easy to understand - I like how simple maths can get tricky very quick - Demanding gameplay (on a + side ofc) - Good difficulty scoping - Tutorial is a plus - Nice soundques
Const:
- I think it should have been divided into two levels. One to grasp the actual concept of connectors (with maybe 2 magistrates), so the user can get along with the mechanics before being thrown into the bigger map - I think the character design is great, but I don't like the idea that you're missing the context of the character when your'e moving left right and up. I believe a better design would be for the character to have 'around screen' face, so player always sees the context of the information regardless of the sprite positioning. I hope you understand what you mean
But those small caveats cannot overshadow the fact that this It's an excellent entry and definitely a one to look at for the high spots. Great job!
I Reincarnated as a Knight to defeat a demonic Chicken! by NightmaresDev 2022-04-19T22:33:39Z
Oh hey, a bullet hell
Pros: - Great art, love dem Chicken - Easy to understand mechanic - Good game feel - Hey! There are sound effects and music! - Bullet hells are kind of a second name behind inevitable suffering - Animations on point
Cons: - I'm just terrible at those kind of games - Latest Chrome version -> Encountered super FPS drops and stuttering after big spawn happened*
*: I believe that looks like a problem with your spawning system. If I understand correctly, you're essentially instatianting every bullet as game object, right? You guys should try using particle effects instead as they're more efficient for that sort of use, and you can make millions of them.
A great effort nontheless. Keep up the good work guys!
Run Little Zombie by Tellyhead 2022-04-06T16:27:08Z
Crash Bandicoot Zombie edition!
Pros:
- Funky design and graphics, reminds me of old PS1 / Xbox games - Dead easy gameplay - Additional enemies and obstacles on + - Color palette also a + - Glad you included soundcues and a bit of music in Compo - Death animation is kinda cute - Good take on theme - Randomization*
Cons:
- Wish there was any menuing (WebGL version) - Jumps are ok, but implementing coyote time would improve it massively. And maybe make a bit tighter gaps - *Randomization is cool, until you get obstacles that are not good in any shape or form.
A fun experience nontheless. Good job!
IGNA by Bozarre 2022-04-10T19:32:42Z
I nearly made it to the rocket, because I tried to rescue all of them.
Pros:
- PICO8 is great - Great, simple art corresponding to the retro style - Clear and simple gameplay - Variations of potential endings - Like the music and sound effects as well!
Can't really pickup any cons there, apart from initial confusion of controls / mechanics
it's a well-scoped title. Great job!
Estrella by Xiris 2022-04-05T17:58:06Z
Gotta get those words typin, otherwise we packin'!
Pros:
- Good take on the theme - Clean graphics, I like the miniworld designed Earth and lighly purpleish space. The background reminds me the same colors I put in my space game on my first LD Jam :) - Simple, yet effective gameplay - Music is a plus - Demanding difficulty - Trivia about space is also a plus ( I love r/space )
Cons:
- No possibility to lower volume in music / effects, which makes my ears go kaboom with every hit on asteroid - WebGL indeed has a problem with multiwords (Lost a damn century to it!) - Not quite sure whether you're able to target asteroids in any shape or form, but it looks like that's not the case. I think I understand the mechanic behind finding an object that fits the name. I just can't pinpoint this small issue I have with loosing the context of the asteroid I want to shot down. Or you can Ignore me on that one
Overall, a very well scoped and polished entry with just small caveats. But we all know, that COMPO is inevitably brutal (haha, I'll see myself off..)
Can I Win as a Lv. 1 Slime? -underdog rising- by johjoh 2022-04-05T20:41:36Z
That time I got reincarnated as a lvl.1 slime and got blasted
Pros:
- Cute, pleasant color palette - Funky combat - Damn, you even have a quest! - Light, moody music to lighten up the day (except for dead bodiess of your brethen) - I totally thought you couldn't move during the fight (FF like), but you got me there, senpai.
Cons:
- A lack of checkpoint after completeing a sword quests makes the game a struggle for replaying
verdict:
My slime is
Shindeiru.
But great job!
Unknowable by Briibot 2022-04-05T21:00:00Z
Hey! I made a new friend! :heart:
Pros:
- Love the pixel art shown here - Great character design - Funky animations - Quite interesting gameplay mechanic* - A fresh take on the theme - Music is a plus - 'Spotting range' and 'Pathing' variations
Cons:
- Wish there was more to the interactions with objects etc. Not sure what they kinda do (except the one distracting) - *While the gameplay and mechanics are definitely something else, they get to be quite confusing at the beggining - I wish there was arrow controls. But I understand the limitations + that would be OP for the player I believe
A great entry nontheless. Good job!
Baggy & Maggy by Revetoon 2022-04-19T22:10:47Z
I loved Teabagging the Maggy into space :fire:
Pros:
- Amazing art, love the style - Great animations and effects - Multiple levels - Clever puzzles, and multiple mechanics to be thrown at the player - Minimalistic UI for tutorial is a + - Great controls feel, including physics - Characters are just adorable (for a Typical Tea enjoyer like me) - Going back to the Maggy is actually such a cool idea, makes you feel... warm - Hey! There's music! - The game even has achievements - SPAAAAAAACEEEEE
Cons:
- I just wish it was longer - Speaking of controls, I believe a keyboard-only layout could be achieveable with some clever targeting, but hey, it works just fine with mouse as well
A superb work made by you guys. Excellent job!
Etiquette by MikoziQ 2022-04-04T21:10:45Z
@nicorm @jyumonji Thanks! I'll check your games right away :)
Update: I have found indeed, that spawning packages a bit too close to each other will cause this bug. I've tweaked it (they spawn within 5 meters from each other and not 4) and re-uploaded, cause it's breaking the actual gameplay.
Etiquette by MikoziQ 2022-04-04T22:25:05Z
@frib Trust me, there are worse nations that this one here :joy:
@ambrits Thanks for feedback! Indeed, you don't need to Enter the input. I am not able to change the description of the game ATM though, so I have to wait until JAM is done I believe to be able to modifiy the controlss subsection
When it comes to waiting, it was supposed to be a processing part where package is getting ready, but it got confusing yes. Thanks again!
@eli-haun Thanks for playing! Well, for a total of 15-20 hours spent from 48 hours available, I had to pick my poison. It's essentially a Minimum Viable Product, which I would personally expand toward Isometric space instead (like some of my previous entries). I wanted to try something new though :)
Probee by Harmadillo 2022-04-11T19:56:42Z
Managed to hover a little bit!
Pros:
- Easy controls - Clear objective - Any music / sounds in Compo is always a + - Options for settings on + - A bit of enemies variation
Cons:
- The 'science' scoring system is a miss here. No particular objective or incentive towards leaning to the ground or staying in the atmosphere - The controls are ok, but unfortunately not designed for keyboard. I also believe that using horizontal controls burns much more fuel for some reason - The geysers on the surface are not efficient enough to power your rover and the actual trigger system for them is kinda confusing (not sure when I'm actually in the geyser factor)
A cool concept for a probe to collect as much data as possible before crashing, but should have been done in a more slow-paced fashion. Good effort nontheless :)
Captain Starforce by extar 2022-04-04T21:34:07Z
Time to bail out before the asteroid hits!
Pros: - Great gameplay loop - Clear objectives - Love the aesthetics department here - Clean color palette. I'm always a sucker for minimalistic and pixel-art games - Good model designs (crew is actually crew and not just random debris) - Multiple levels is a plus - Music makes me go back to retro-times
Cons: - Hard to point out one, as the game feels complete - Ah yes, base icon to give you an idea of space would be cool! - Encountered a 'god mode' bug. Essentially, I could not be killed, no matter how big the asteroid I smashed into :)
Very solid entry. Excellent job!
Trash Panic! by Defrag 2022-04-06T17:24:53Z
Don't mind me, I just like to break things:
2022-04-06 (6).png
Pros:
- Simple and enjoyful gameplay - Cool graphics - Sounds... umm... yeah :D - Multiple points of context to understand - Chaotic controls, in a good way
Cons:
- S button was broken for me - Easy to get your stuff stuck for insta points - Not sure I understood the color mechanic
Good job! :D
Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-04T22:09:00Z
The eggs are everywhere :egg: :egg: :egg:
Pros: - Clear objective. Kill mixer egggs*, prioritize Black Eggs and run! - I love the enemy design. Now I need to boil my eggs extra hard when doing breakfast - Good animations and quite ok weapon feel - Always glad to have control options - Hey, it's some nice music you got there
Cons: - Recipe to win: Just outrun regular eggs, kill Black ones. Rinse repeat - Sound ques or eggs / spawn / danger would be beneficial - Force density clear: Eggs should have a bit of range weaponry, that can fire at lest one time each couple of seconds - Exhaustion meter for the player, so you can't outrun everything in the end would be nice a well - Not sure about grenade AoE range. Thrown it into the flock of Eggs, killed 2. Next time, killed 7.
A good entry for Compo nontheless. Great job!
Boing & Bonk by Mistafixxa069 2022-04-06T16:44:17Z
Oh hey, it's one of those ball platform bouncy games!
Pros:
- I like the simplicity of the colors - Love the animations and actual expression of the platform - Enemy design is a + - Super simple, yet catching gameplay - Music and Sounds in Compo is always a +
Cons:
- Wish there was any more variation to be honest
Other than that, a polished and well-scoped compo entry. Great job!
Great Escape by Martinek 2022-04-07T12:29:54Z
I'll just leave it as pure cuteness and so real life related. Waiting for proper 3D hide-n-seek simulator on Socks Engine :D
Losing Your Sheet by rickylee 2022-04-05T18:12:11Z
Well... Someone has to do it...
kkkk.png
Pros:
- Clean and warm color palette - Overall a great and simple design - Clear mechanics and indications on what's going on - Music pleasant to your ears - Crips controls and feel!
Cons:
- Quite tricky to understand at first - I just don't like loosing my sheeeet
A great entry with a small humorous twists. Great Job!
Race Fighter by redsti 2022-04-05T20:51:36Z
Got 1380 on Level 1
Pros:
- Dead easy to play - Clear objective - Enemy variation (static and dynamic) - Multiple interesting buffs - Nicely paced gameplay - Multiple levels - Good controls feel
Cons:
- Wish there was a bullet spread powerup - I wish there was a bit more of... something. But I really can't pinpoint that out
It's essentially a properly scoped microgame with Arcade style. Keep up the good work!
ProTip: Drop in some screenshots of anything on the page here, so people can see a glimpse of your work :)
Peter and the Pesky Puppets by agushmar 2022-04-04T21:12:30Z
Hey! Same here, give me an at(@) when you have the linked game on your page! I will gladly play it :)
Delay Dragon by dindotjs 2022-04-04T22:20:04Z
Is that essentially a Tabaluga The Dragon simulator? :dragon:
tabaluga.jpg
Pros:
- Simple, clean, warm graphics. - Good level design and catchy traps - Good that you actually start the run after moving the dragon - Neat 'fireball-jump' mechanics - Simple, yet effective soundscape - tutorial at 1st level is a plus
Const:
- Oh god the wall-fireball-jumping controls. They break the flow to a point you become frustrated. A big miss on that part - The actual controls mapping keys are very close to each other. Rather unintuitive to use, at least from my part
A pleasant and enjoyable experience. Excellent job!
Distract The Cat by danashrulez 2022-04-05T17:44:38Z
Managed to sustain the cat for 48 Seconds!
Pros:
- Flappy bird in the sheep's skin - Predictable gameplay, which gives room for improving the skill of the player - Pixel art in this mobile format work nice together - Extra Meow for the cat! - Good difficulty steep - Little bit of music in Compo is always a plus (and tells you how brutal 48hr is)
Cons:
- Unfortunately, with that kind of aspect of the screen, it is very hard to keep your eyes on the distraction meter to understand how well / bad you're doing. I think one of the solution would be to put a meter in a frame around each mirror, so you're not only focused on the laser, but have your eyes on the context. - Subjective: Color palette could be a bit better, as the green and yellow seems a bit distracting each other
Nontheless, great first submission! Take my :cat: of appreciacion and keep up the good work!
By The Fire by Ani 2022-04-10T15:36:22Z
Lasted for almost 3 minutes
Pros:
- Adorable main character - Great minimalistic visual on isometric scene - Good game feel, so the gameplay itself - Clear and responsive controls - Nice take on the theme - Music in Compo is always a +
Cons:
- I believe leaving a tree or stone away and coming back to it resets it's ATK (actions-to-kill) counter. Would be nice if each individual object had them, but I believe that was to prevent insta bashing (focus out and in on the object to rapidly take it down)
Solid, properly scoped entry and excellent job!
SOURCE CODE ISSUE
I believe you have only provided the actual `source code` instead of the entire project to check it out. As per compo rules, it would be nice to see all of it (placement, scenes, graphical materials etc) and not just script codes.
LOOP by jyumonji 2022-04-04T21:24:08Z
Hey! Finally had time to ditch into the tunes!
Pros:
- I like the simple pixel art, very clear animation and design - Love the casette detail and it's low-key purpose - Nice tonnage with colors - Since it's a music-related game, music sounds exactly like you would expect for simple pixel-like art
Const:
- Oh my god don't even get me started with controls. So unintuitive. Not to mention the A and B didn't work for me - Repetitive music - Hard to understand objective. Essentially you would need someone to show you how to play it before putting you on it.
Plus: I'm not exactly sure how it fits the theme, but it would fit perfectly the `Stuck in the loop` theme
Howver, it's a very nice attempt, especially for your first time. Good job and keep up the good work!
Fire Punch by Stefan Funke 2022-04-10T15:50:56Z
After making it to the impossible 2 monsters
Pros:
- Quite good level design - Enemy variation (at least 1 extra ) - Intuitive controls*** - Hellscape-ish visuals - Definitely liked the 2-attack mode for the demons (CQC and range), so you can't exploit it too much
Cons:
- Not sure how it scopes to the theme. Some narration would be nice (no escape from hell or something) - ***Lack of jump-attack (veeery annoying) - ***Lack of coyote time for platforms (reduces game feel) - A bit confusing logic behind enemy fireballs. I didn't know if I could step on them after they hit the ground or not. I think that faster after-hit animation would help - Any sort of health regen (even a hidden pickup) would be appreciated
The game has some foundation, but falls short in the mid game right away, as any lack of health management gives you instant restart. It's a good effort though, so keep up the good work!
Life Finds a Way by Mopifish 2022-04-10T15:27:53Z
Totrial subtitles: *POP** **POP** **POP** **POP** (Lasted 83 years)
Pros: - Great and unique take on the theme. Very positive one nontheless - Demanding gameplay - Good difficulty steps - The pop-pop tutorial is hilarious - Great variety of 'life-enemies' and tools to use
Cons:
- I just wish there was a key shortcut to select tools instead of clicking them back and fort. I believe it would not hurt the gameplay in any shape or form - Any 'recharging' meter on the bushes or any other re-growable elements would be nice to get a better game feel and make priorities straight on what to focus on.
Great entry nontheless. Good job!
LD51 — Every 10 seconds
Power Surge 51 by vidarn 2022-10-03T00:22:21Z
I've found this to be quite relaxing!
I've also found a bug with infinite platforms, especially making it too easy on the last level.
Nonehteless:
Pros:
- I love the cat on comms - Pretty subtle and interesting graphics - Like the narration - Calming color palette - Easy to learn puzzle mechanics - Music in Compo is always a plus, especially this subtle one
Cons:
- Would love a better font usage for text(Did my eyes decieve me, or was I constantly missing an 'i' letter in the text? Was it even there?) - Not really a con, but minor bugs with infinite platforms and inifinite energy I've found :smile:
Great job!
WindBots by alexhonor 2022-10-11T23:05:34Z
Had a couple of tries!
Pros:
- Pleasant graphics, straight in the mood - The bots are insanely adorable, especially with those little legs - Funky mechanics related to the theme
Cons:
- Is it really just me, or did only got completely bugged mechanics? Randomly respawning characters, randomly running bots etc? Maybe I completely misunderstood their movement? :) - Wish there was any sort of sfx for Jam entry
A good job nonetheless!
Iridesert by homeworld 2022-10-19T20:54:53Z
A certainly good experience indeed.
Pros:
- The graphics, considered the time limit, are very good - The amount of complexity put in is commendable - Relaxing gameplay - Quite good soundscape as well, sfx on point to the game-style - Well done UI elements
Cons:
- This needs a proper tutorial. It feels like Total War: Warhammer-level of complexity (even though I read the description after playing the game) - A bit laggy HTML5 build (understandably so considering the game)
A titanic work must have been done there. Well done guys!
Sushi Panic by Delightfullymad 2022-10-03T13:13:39Z
I would never asked anyone to work in a restaurant like this lol, but at least I unlocked all tables :smile:
Pros:
- 2D Overcooked: sushi explosion edition - Funky graphics and animations - I like the difficulty of meals and it's repetitiveness, so you can memorize it - Speaking of prepping meals, that essentially feels like preparing a Tekken Combo lol - Music in a compo is always a +
Cons:
- Probably mentioned here already, but the game feels more like repairing than fighting to get orders out. Would tone down the frequency of breakdowns a bit - After getting more chairs filled, my order list bugged out and I couldn't see any arrows to follow (image below)
2022-10-03 (15).png
A nicely scoped game for the Compo! Great job!
MMO Minesweeper by Lex 2022-10-11T23:17:16Z
I've never thought I would have so much fun playing minesweeper with friend
Pros:
- It's a minesweeper - It's an ONLINE minesweeper - So you can f*** up your friends with random decisions, by tring to be a smart-ass
Cons(JK):
- It's a minesweeper - And I always sucked at it :D
It's a unique twist on a timeless classic. A job well done!
Curse Of Infinity by Sky 2022-10-03T12:55:25Z
I got to 274 score!
Pros:
- A good attempt to voxel art - Simple mechanics - Good character controls - A fun take on curses and their difficulty spikes - DoTween usage (I have to learn to use it myself finally) - Music for Compo is always appreciated. Plus it's actually a nice tune!
Cons:
- Maybe I haven't reached the proper point, but getting more 'positive curses' sometimes would be nice - Standing on the fountain and getting out for only pickups makes the game considerably easier (not sure if that's a con though) - Not sure about the auto-aim, but I struggled with shooting a bit. Glad I'm fps player lol.
A good compo entry nonetheless, keep it up!
_ I strive to leave a detailed feedback which takes timeโ€ฆ if you liked it, please consider giving a feedback back :heart: _
The Landfill by Naemis 2022-10-11T21:38:37Z
Got 1277 First try!
Pros:
- I like the simple graphics fidelity you went with - Scalability of the difficulty seems pretty good as well, however I believe it's pure RNG? - Love the powerups and ways to keep you occuppied with constant explosions and chain reactions - Like the variety of boulders - And the variety and scale of power-ups! - Glad you don't need to think about blowing yourself up - Quite Addictive gameplay! - Audio in a compo is always a +
Cons:
- Ummm... there's no good ending? - I believe the score depends too much on the RNG, unless there's a specific mechanic to spawn powerups for you
Overall, a great entry and a job well done!
10 Snekonds by YogurtTheHorse 2022-10-04T18:43:47Z
Okay, after a couple of tries
Pros:
- Guacameelee meets snake - Great visuals, I'm sucker for pixel-art - Nice color palette - Cool Animations - Good Variety of 'difficulty' - Glad to see a nice amount of upgrades as well - Music is :pineapple: - Good attempt on the theme itself
Cons:
The actual only con I can say is that, at least for me, the controls of the 'snake' felt really clunky. I would swear I have made a proper input motion, but the snake would not more around or would end up doing a turn in 2-3 tiles later than I originally anticipated. The game is quite catchy on its own, but this was a dealbreaker I couldn't go with for too long.
Yet, the game feels and looks polished as it could be for JAM entry. Great job guys!
The Goose Bureau by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2022-10-11T22:07:04Z
Ahhh... the G team strikes again!
Pros:
- Old Console aestethics hit hard there, in a good way - Of course, really portal-esque level design - The movement is pretty cool! - Lots and lots of puzzles ideas - And also lots of Easter Eggs - Music and sfx are very pleasant to the ear - The Difficulty is brutal
Cons:
- Speaking of difficulty, any sort of checkpoint would be a godsent - When it comes to movement, I've managet to 'trip-over' the edge of the platform sometimes. Any coyote-time introduced there or a little bit of help towards the player would be a great addition
Now, this is not a con, but I feel for people that did not play puzzle games like me and may have not understood the idea behind the 'find the clue yourself' type of puzzles you guys put in game. Level 2 was rather easy to grasp around but on every step I had a feeling that 'smart-ass' me would have struggled there for a loong time haha.
I love the entries from you guys in every LD. Keeps me entertained. Great job!
Sergeant "Giles de la Turret" by CoOz 2022-10-12T21:40:10Z
Quite a funky experience!
Pros:
- I really like the 'realism' you tried going for with the firing mechanism and the tracers, including bullet drop - SFX is a blast - Easy to learn - I actually liked the graphics used here
Cons:
- The actual aiming is a tight strange, seems like it does not belong to this type of game (kinda arcade-ish vs realism discussion here) - Wish the targets were a bit larger - Hard to do anything from the beggining until the enemies starts pouring some mid-range
A good effort overall!
Fall Girl by civmaniac 2022-10-19T20:47:43Z
Power(hand)washer-window simulator 2D!
Pros:
- Quite nice music! - Funky animations and a likeable character (even though she's silent) - Multiple obstacles and 'enemies' - Color scheme is pleasant to the eye - Good take on the theme in mechanics
I don't really have much of cons, and considering time limitations, you guys went beyond of what's expected. Excellent job!
Ezekiel by Austin Sierra 2022-10-04T22:31:03Z
- TempleOs :european_castle: :ballot_box_with_check: - Biblical meaning :pray: :ballot_box_with_check: - Provided Demo for non TempleOS infidels :church: :ballot_box_with_check: - Fits the theme :ballot_box_with_check:
A piece of art
My rating is ** Holy_Grenade / 5 **
Fight The Darkness by Ryan Ackermann 2022-10-04T17:35:27Z
Got a 83 score!
Pros:
- Really good mechanic with the light system! - Like the enemies variety (at least not just a single one) - Music in compo is always a + - Actually liked the visuals
Cons:
- The music feels... a bit too melancholic for me here, but maybe it is what's supposed to be - There's little incentive to move player around the map, you can just stand in the center and shoot stuff until score is 75+
However, it is indeed a good job!
Satellite commander by Henrik Ganard 2022-10-03T21:13:53Z
I would never like to be a satellite when Tesla launches Starlink lol
Pros:
- This is quite addictive game! - I love the 'just put stuff together' earth model, it's adorable! - The graphical fidelity It takes me back to the 90's (which is of course a positive!) - The game gets quite tricky pretty fast - I like that you went honest with the music opt-out - Oh my the scoring is brutal (but hey, it's at least honest, because I couldn't even transfer half of a modern game these days haha)
Cons:
- The controls are quite challenging at first to get around, especially down-up movement - Is it me or is the spawner not every 10 seconds, but every 4-5? Therefore I just find it fard to get it around the theme a bit (however, my screen is 165hz refresh rate, would that affect unity Update method or Coroutines?)
Good Job nonetheless!
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-03T00:19:24Z
@prologi haha! Probably my bad on the placing of the modelling (ProBuilder is not very keen to mesh collisions sometimes)
I also believe the Pause was not working properly, but refreshing the page (html) or just restarting should be fine. This was actually frustrating for me with the pausing menu. Thanks for playing! Although I see we cannot give ratings yet, I'll wait until tomorrow to check again :)
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-03T00:24:11Z
@aryaman sure thing. I can see that we cannot rate games yet, so I'll wait until then and rate back.
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-03T01:12:23Z
@prologi @aryaman - since ratings are back, mind if I kindly ask you guys to rate the game? I will gladly check yours tomorrow (it's 3AM here)
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-03T12:46:46Z
@delightfullymad Thanks for playing! I'll check your game soon :)
@drunkardwolf Thanks for the feedback! By the 'keep going' you mean keep the pickups count or reset everything? Currently, the game just resets everything. The solar flares are tied to a timer, so nothing bad happens if they're still in motion while you respawn. I was thinking of using `solar flare levels` but ditched the idea in the end :)
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-03T12:59:47Z
@drunkardwolf Ah yes, that sounds indeed like a thing to fix then I believe :smile: It's an easy fix but I will leave it though as to stay per rules :)
@naemis Thanks for playing! I first wanted to make a flare last a bit shorter (around 5 seconds), but just went with keeping it at 10:10 ratio. Should have gone with a gut feeling :D
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-04T21:35:09Z
@geniko @henrik-ganard @civmaniac (Don't worry, my girlfriend also flipped over haha) @tricky-fat-cat @kostas-nik @vykri @serxiolas @vidarn
Thanks for playing guys! I really appreciate all the feedback, which I would like to actually address.
I realized that there is indeed lighting bug that indeed makes the shadows not visible after solar flare sometime. Because of that, some of you would have hard time getting from one post to another.
The reason of the shadows bug is actually concering the gameplay as you can hide in any shadow that seems bigger than the ATV, which is around 20+ places on the map, not mentioning bases and pickup points. I have tried making it so you can safely traverse between points using around 5-7 seconds. Yet, I totally understand the concern and the fact that people may have been discouraged by the difficulty and the flare rotation span.
May I ask, have any of you actually finished? It took me around 5-6 minutes to go through playing safely, but I know it can be done within 4 minutes as well (Almost made it within 300 seconds but got blasted on my way back)
๐ŸŒ‹ FlareScape by MikoziQ 2022-10-04T21:59:22Z
@civmaniac OMG I'm so happy you actually made it :smile: :red_car:
@cooz Thanks for the feedback! I usually don't stick for too long with LD projects, but this one is giving me a vibe to at least finish the audio part :) Yet, if it was a narrative experience then maybe it would actually be a good one indeed!
Tower of Time 2 by CodeRaurus 2022-10-04T17:27:14Z
Quite a nice platformer and managed to get through some hard levels
Pros:
- Like graphics fidelity - Cool color palette - Like the character animations - Variety of puzzles - Music in compo is always a +
Cons:
- Glitching on Chrome (known issue) - The jumping is a bit... clunky. I couldn't land consistent jumps on keypress - The colors make the player sometimes blend with environment
A polished entry nontheless. Good job!
Needy Pixel Kitties by Aaron Smith 2022-10-04T16:39:27Z
Okay, this is adorable
Pros:
- The VA is brilliant! - Cool cats designs - Cute graphics - You get a lot of kittens in later stages - The mechanics are easy to grasp around
Cons:
- Wish it was a bit more demanding, but I understand the scope for this game as a kids' playground
A really nice entry. Good job!
Squirrel Time by Finn Pickart 2022-10-04T19:00:54Z
A quite emotional road along with the squirel life!
Pros:
- Adorable main character - Cute animations - I love the foxes design. They look so innocent, until they catch you - Great way of getting through the 10 seconds theme - Music actually makes me quite sad in a good way, thinking of the squirrel life - Pleasure to look at color palette
Cons:
- As mentioned by some before, the music and feel of the game should make the game a touch slower, yet I feel like I'm jolting through the map - Could not find all the acorns and ended up... in the clouds? :D
A pleasurable experience to get through. Great job!
Whack-a-troll by Ezekyuhl 2022-10-04T17:16:19Z
Hey! At least you gave it a try!
Pros:
- I like the Final Fantasy - vibe graphics you went for - Characters are actually quite cool! - The spam of abilities is kinda hilarious - Enemies variety
Cons:
- Well, hard to say what exactly am I supposed to do apart from spamming abilities like a madman - as @coderaurus mentioned, the loop is only noticeable because of the fact that music changes - Is there actually a loose/win condition?
I'm glad you tried and finished your first entry. It can only go up from there. Welcome to the Ludum Dare and keep up the good work! :)
Groovy Wars by Aryaman 2022-10-03T20:50:10Z
Played a couple of times with my friend
Pros:
- Easy to grasp - Simple graphics - Music is always a + on compo (But unfortunately, more on that later)
Cons:
- The bloom is a bit too much - Without reading on how to play, it was very hard for us to understand the concept of 'beating' other played, which resulted in us just crashing into each other and waiting on RNG to pick a winner
I don't mind that you take inspiration from someone, but one things that is boggling me is...
With all due respect, but I do not believe you made that music yourself within COMPO time for such a game
https://youtu.be/-7qnOdpPSvA
As per rules stating that YOU are supposed to make the music yourself, I would consider you changing the game to be a JAM, not COMPO entry.
[rules here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules)
Groovy Wars by Aryaman 2022-10-03T20:52:53Z
@sky @moebiusmeow @dfyzet @henrik-ganard - Sorry to bring this up to the commenters before me, as you guys commented on the music part.
Groovy Wars by Aryaman 2022-10-04T07:18:27Z
@aryaman sorry if I sounded a bit too harsh on the matter, but I need to point it out. In the end it's just for yourself since there are no winners here or prizes, but the community tends to be more strict on the compo/jam rules โ˜บ๏ธ I'm glad you've seen the error and I changed the rating accordingly ๐Ÿ‘
Another LAST 10 seconds by Serxiolas 2022-10-04T21:54:35Z
I'm an IdiOooOoOOooott!
Pros:
- This is suprisingly addictive game! - I like the color palette used - As well as psychological methods put upon the player - SFX is top noth :ok_hand: - 3 Endings - It's actually a great take on a theme
Cons:
- I really wish there was some RNG mechanic that tells you which wire to cut within any point in time or even through some secret text on the bomb
Nice to have:
- I wish there were different bombs rotating - More Wires would be cool (cause why not, we're already pretty sadistic)
I can't wait to play this with my colleagues at work during lunch break, they're IDIOOOOOTs.
Press me...or die by Vykri 2022-10-04T22:05:47Z
Oh my word, this was such a hilarious experience!
Pros:
- Excellent dialogue - Multiple 'quests' to do - Graphical fidelity really matches the game feeling - SFX on point - Humor out of the roof - Funny as hell
Cons:
- Someone already said that, but I wish there was an immediate ending where your throw the bomb out of the window with a casual dialogue like 'I don't need this shieeeet' and someone screaming outside.
That sort of games really defines the spirit of Ludum Dare. Excellent job!
Run, Slime, Run ! by Dahut 2022-10-03T12:39:58Z
Okay! I've managed to beat the game in around 3:40 (minutes ofc haha)
Pros:
- I adore the color scheme used, very pleasant to the eye - Good level design with a nice mechanic of jumping - Also liked diffent tiles for levels (dungeon vs forest) - Nice transitions between puzzles - The chivarly-style music fits this game in a way I was not expecting it - The ending caught me by surprise :smile: :musical_note:
Cons:
- Wish there was more variety of puzzles except jump / spikes - Speaking of spikes, I found their trigger points to be a touch too sensitive, but It may just be me - I had to get a brief idea of understanding every 10 seconds here, so I kinda consider putting it there
#### A great job nonetheless and congrats on the first Jam Game! :muscle:
_ I strive to leave a detailed feedback which takes time... if you liked it, please consider giving a feedback back :heart: _
Blobbbert: 10 Second Navigator by Xorel 2022-10-04T18:30:05Z
Hey! I won!
Pros:
- Cute main character - Simple old-school graphics - Well executed mechanics - Glad that crashing on a trap does not reset the level - Sfx and music in Compo is always a plus
Cons
- Last level is a bit too random, especially that on earlier level you do show the goal mark - Wish there was a tiny bit more variety of the puzzling
Good job nonetheless!
Timeslime by asbjorn 2022-10-04T13:45:13Z
Okay! I reached the score of 204 and promised to get my strategy out :)
My strat was (turns):
1. Shot in enemy direction, start moving towards top right corner 2. Reach top right corner 3. don't move, only shoot up or right 4. Pray to RNG that, using probability, it will take a very long time for enemies to spawn on the top or right edges 5. If enemy is encountered and manages to shoot in your direction, try heading one tile and then immediately back to corner 6. Profit
Okay, now for the game itself:
Pros:
- Well executed, simple graphics - Simple to grasp mechanics - Scalability of the difficulty - this looks like a nice game I would play on a Switch
Cons:
- The actual RNG of enemy spawns makes it either into high scores or not - Once you get into certain level, it's nearly impossible to control the player in any shape or form apart from trying to override the movement you made
A well-scoped and polished entry nonetheless. Great job guys!
LD53 — Delivery
Deliver or Die by Imphenzia 2023-05-01T13:41:37Z
I like the polished feel this game has. Nice low poly as well!
I found myself being comfortable with 4 items at the same time, 5 already felt a bit too much. Yet again, it's hard to say gemplay wise how would that change the difficulty of the game.
Not sure if a bug or not but you can get shot and survive. Maybe you have a hidden health system in place, so I wouldn't count this as a bug but rather a lack of UI to showcase that you have more chances than 1.
I would prefer old timers have shotguns instead :smirk:
Astroxite by MAT4DOR 2023-05-01T11:00:24Z
I liked the game overall, but found the resuorce vs missions and controls pretty confusing. Once you grasp around the context, everything was more smoother. I always stress on playtesting, especially when you have someone else who doesn't know your mechanics to test your game :)
Parcel Blaster 2099 by graebor 2023-05-01T13:58:50Z
I believe the UPS and other guys already have delivery guys throw the packages in astonishing force, so this is naturally the next step of evolution :package:
- Graphics are great - Like the effects and animations of motion - Gameplay feels rewarding - The Difficulty is scoped more for a FPS kinda player rather than someone with strategic mind, hence the arcade feeling. I play a lot of FPS games so didn't have that much of an issue - Music is cool!
Overall feels polished and have a nice replayable factor. Great job!
On the other note:
``` Team was just myself, but this is a Jam entry since I repurposed a couple of sound effects and scripts from some of my previous games. ```

If the stuff from the other games you made was made by yourself, then there's no problem in putting the game into COMPO. All the stuff you made before can be use to your advantage, as long as you can prove that you actually did it yourself before :smile: . A lot of COMPO folks use their old code and assets from previous entries to boost their effectiveness. You don't want to create the same UI system over and over again for example :muscle:

LD53: House Delivery! by burnedkirby 2023-05-01T13:32:23Z

Fun little game.

I wish I had the delivery service to build my house while playing an ice cream truck song, haha!

There's not much to say there. The mechanics and controls are simple. I like that you have multiple actions to take. The audio slowdown caught me off by surprise in a good way :musical_note:

A well scoped entry, would enjoy it on the gameboy, had I one. Good job!

Pineapple Police by tomrijnbeek 2023-05-01T10:35:44Z

Delivered a couple of pizzas!

What I liked

- pleasant graphics - the actual difficulty of the game is ok - the map is not too large, so you get the context of what's going on - I like that you though about the pathing for police, so you can actually avoid it

The sound department left the chat (so did in my game partially lol), but hey. I liked it! I wish I could've understood more of the Police behaviour. Is it strictly random?

Good job!

PACKAGES by Linus Lindberg 2023-05-01T11:12:37Z

Completed all the puzzles and got a snake-heart!

- A simple approach to the theme - Good puzzles - Chill vibes all over - Music is always a + in Compo title - Animations and visual ques for placing objects are great - Amount of levels - Snake box is cute! :snake:

It's just simple, rewarding puzzle game, well scoped for the LD. Excellent job!

10 Minutes Guaranteed! by Kwiper 2023-05-01T10:26:28Z

Eyy! I made it through all levels in couple of minutes

What I liked - simplistic design - nice animations - easy, yet rewarding puzzles - nice touch with addition of a booster

Found a bug in level 9 where a car would go in different direction and crash into pizza man from the start, so it took 3-4 retries until it reset itself lol.

I enjoyed it. It's indeed a well-scoped game. Good job!

Deliver Us From Evil by F1Krazy 2023-05-01T22:29:53Z

Had a nice blast delivering justice!

- I'm a sucker for graphics like this and low poly - Music / SFX is on point for this type of game - Multiple levels and nice level design - Quite nimble controls

Maybe its just me, but this one feels like it's playing with `delivery` theme more on a word-like manner, which is fine and dandy but wouldn't been my first pick definitely :sweat_smile:

Good job overall!

Plus, I've found a bug on Level3 I believe. When you constantly push a box, after a short while you will go Out of Bounds :see_no_evil:

STL: Last mile by TinySalad 2023-05-01T14:14:26Z

@tinysalad Hey! I would like to play your game, but not sure which build to use. What's the difference between WIN and WindowsB version?

Pizza Slingshot by waffleworksgames 2023-05-01T13:23:35Z

Never have I thought that someone will make Angry Birds like game with pizza throwing!

- Delivery theme is strong with this one - Graphics and animations are very good - Music in compo is always a + - Like the puzzle and level designs! - Different pizza flavours only adds to the gameplay depth and loop - I like the first slingshot hint, so you know what you're dealing with

Like some other players here, I had a problem with my cursor going out of bounds of the game and the slingshot automatically loosing the grip or firing because of that. Not a big deal.

I now have to ask Dominos to introduce pizza catapult for delivery... :pizza: Great job!

Deliver Us Peace by tadeocore 2023-05-01T14:23:31Z

I've managed to deliver one post :(

I liked the graphics you went for and a simple ambience.

I believe the take on the theme is very good and gets into the topic of showing how important communication was to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Therefore, I'm not rating this game in `humor` category.

I've unfortunately encountered a bug. The plane won't steer properly, it will just sit in the middle and do animations back and forth, but nothing will happen or it will steer at abysmal rate. This makes it next to impossible to steer, let alone deliver the messages.

One thing that is lacking as well is the next objective marker on the compass.

A good effort nonetheless, but you need to fix the controls asap! :slight_smile: :video_game:

Drone Delivery Service by jclardy 2023-05-02T22:17:44Z

Little game about a cute drone trying it's best to deliver boxes. What's more to add here? :package:

Not sure why you put in the gametime in the top left corner, is that some extra score?

I wish the controls were just tiny bit smoother. However, I understand that we don't all play on gamepads :video_game:

Good job!

SMTP by InitialPosition 2023-05-01T10:56:09Z

As a software engineer myself, I approve this game with my whole heart.

What I liked: - The visuals are fantastic for such simple design - The audio effects are so chill I didn't ever felt a need for a rush - The difficulty is nicely scoped - The visual ques about filling the servers and that you cannot send accidentally a mail to other server is a very good touch - The `delivery` theme is so out-of-the-box here. I know that it feels so rewarding when someone says that (it happened to my entry), so you'll have your moment!

I actually thought that maybe this is how SMTPs work IRL haha :joy:

I don't really have much to say here. It's a really great and properly scoped entry. Great job!

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-01T01:31:29Z

@kwiper Glad you liked it and I hope you will come back to leave the rating as well :)

As for the collissions, it's actually a bit intended, so it does not force the player out completely, but makes some funny moments as well. I've been thinking about smoothing the obstacles out, but the moment I got my van 720 into abyss I've decided to just leave it as a feature :joy:

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-01T19:25:43Z

Holy moly I just went outside and got million comments, thank you so much! Straight to the answers!

#### Regarding movement

This is NOT a bug, and once you turned full 90 Degrees to the left or right, you cannot move more left or right. This is by design to limit the input and the complexity to appeal more like a mobile game, where you only tap the screen to move left or right.

I wanted to avoid pressing multiple times left to avoid the player vehicle to do a U turn as well :sweat_smile:

However!

I believe some of you, like @jclardy suggested, were right that usually the infinite runners do not provide such flexibility of the actual ride on the platforms and are more like arcade on-rails type of game, where you have Quick Time Events to move just left or Right on the corners. I have thought about it and decided to leave it as experiment for now :slight_smile:

#### Ramps, jumps

@cinterre - I thought about ramps, but the Player GameObject is not proppeled by any physics, therefore it would be hard for me to adapt to jumping. Probably Gaps instead of Ramps would work (great idea!)

#### Lack of 'HowTo'

@pianoman373 @unfinished632 Have you guys tried fullscreen mode? I swear there are some simple rules attached in the Main Menu (see attached Screenshot). But Maybe it wasn't too clear :sweat_smile: Thank you for pointing it out!

2023-05-01 (34).png

Thank you so much for the feedback so far!

Once I got another batch of reviews, I'll check who I haven't rated back from you guys :)

On a late note... Have any of you beaten a Dev Score? :point_down: :smirk:

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-01T19:49:49Z

@kirkami Thanks for playing! Well... Eeach level is automatically generated and tiles have specific % chance to spawn as collectible tile. Sometimes you get 5 in a row, sometimes you're stuck for 15 seconds chillin :smile:

Actual percentage to spawn on a straight (either left or right):

1. Straight tile - ~52% 2. Pickup tile (blue)- ~18% 3. Obstacle_1 - ~12% 4. Obstacle_2 - ~12% 5. Drop-point (green) - ~6%

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-01T22:00:03Z

@drunkardwolf Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

@thetatautau Thanks! HAve you managed to get to more difficulty levels? There is 5 with 2-5 being significantly more 'speedy' than initial level. Based on how random level is generated, you may have been unlucky to not get collectibles that fast :) You're also another person to say that obstacles are bad. Should I consider just pushing the player into the track once encounter the obstacle (smooth the collider)? That's very easy to do.

@daniel-gelband Thanks for playing! Which set was it? I may have remember it :id:

@synthol Glad you liked it!

@floke I have already mentioned my movement decision in the biggest comment just somewhere above yours. It's deliberate and was supposed to be more rails-like and mobile-like. However, giving a bit too much of movement freedom instantly gave the issue of colliding. I am not able to change it now, but I am happy that I took this turn and learned a lesson :slight_smile:

@asasin56 Wow! A perfect example of `there's as many opinions as people`, and I say it in a good way! I like downright critisism rather than candy eye comments. May I ask how many retries you did? TBH, the scoring UI came as last-minute decision as I was never good in doing UI/UX. I should have probably put on what the numbers actually mean in the description :slight_smile: Glad you enjoyed the aesthetics tho!

So just to satisfy the semi-question here: The number on the top of the Vehicle tells you the **difficulty level** you're currently on. The number on the back doors is the **amount of crystals deposited overall**, whereas the **DPS-XXX** thing on the bumper is the crystals that you currently have on you, but not deposited yet

Hi guys!

My sincere apologies for not rating many of your games (yet). The birch pollen allergy is taking a heavy toll on me and I can barely think. I will rate back as many games as possible during next 2 weeks :heart:

Thank you for the bottom of my heart that I got so many reviews. It feels like I'm on a good track.

I'll catch you later this weekend :video_game:

Drone Delivery by chesschaser 2023-05-01T22:37:28Z

Had some rought time with hooligans

- Are they shooting rockets at you? That's some Chicago-level neighbourhood :sweat_smile: - I like that you can actually recharge the drone! - Comprehensive tutorial is a plus - Multiple levels is cool - The drone itself is actually quite cool!

I Wish the levels were more... diverse in terms of different worlds / cities. Also, it seemed like Enemy density was unequal and there were no-go zones, were you get bombed instantly. I didn't know if I can hide on the buildings as well to avoid damage...

A good effort nontheless!

Deliverz by Kongo 2023-05-01T23:01:51Z

Well, someone has to do it...

kekW.png

My GTA2 nostalgia hits too much with this one. I really enjoyed the design and feel of the gameplay. The music, dialogues etc. are on point. Great entry guys!

The Silver Fleet by KyleTheCoder 2023-05-01T23:44:30Z

Not gonna lie, when I saw the title and the miniature picture I thought about 'pirate fighting the pensioners' (as the silver flood or something lol)

I liked it overall. The controls are easy to learn, there's not much of a difficulty spike and the gameplay is exactly how you would expect. I liked the main character animation! (reminds me of a Looney Tunes a bit)

I actually managed to not get the rope and still get to the other side without dying, probably a framerate bug or something.

Good entry! Wish it was a bit more towards `delivery` side of things though, but maybe it's just me :)

Don't Stranding by nekowei 2023-05-01T13:51:13Z

I managed to deliver almost all the boxes!

Is the ending timed by actual gametime or by boxes amount?

The graphics are simple but you had a nice idea around it. I wish there was a bit more physics going on like simple waves etc. Crashing into the ground didn't seem to do much expect make the cargo loose a bit. Didn't get stranded though to a point of no return,

I found that sometimes the cargo won't fit 6 boxes even if there is a space for it. I believe making the hull a bit wider would solve the problem of clipping.

A good effort nontheless. Keep it up!

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-01T13:04:36Z

I killed the monster... I'm definitely a monster!

- This game is actually quite scary until you don't know what you're fighting with - I like the eery feeling of the neighbourhood - The dialouge is okay - The monster is... interesting haha (is that an old monkey on cocaine? :joy: ) - not sure if that was intended, but is the red stuff with hook supposed to be a crowbar? Nice nod towards Half-life then :smirk:

Fun little game, good job!

POSTMAN by arya-s 2023-05-01T12:27:34Z

Got till the end! :slight_smile:

2023-05-01 (28).png

- Charming little postman slime! - Music and SFX in compo is always a + - I like the simple graphics you went there for - Animations are also a big plus - As other folks mentioned, climbing should happen automatically. Not sure which engine you used so can't help out with that immediately - I actually liked the last puzzle, clever design! - Liked the chilled atmosphere

A good entry! Great Job!

wizard path by slimetrash 2023-05-01T22:45:53Z

I've had the same issue as @stefan-funke, but managed to play on Itch.

So, I like the graphics. It reminds me of couple of other games that I played in Past LDs with that color palette. It's dark and ominous, but not scary per se. Good for puzzle game like this.

For puzzles themselves, I found them quite okay in difficulty. The 'what to do' though... It took me couple of tries to understand what to do with the arrows in the top left sections. I thought you needed arrows or WSAD to control the character. After a bit of tinkering it all went well though.

It's not really a humoristic game, so I'm not gonna rate it here.

Music is very on point here, good taste!

I wish it was more onto hmm... the actual `delivery` theme? Maybe I'm not seeing enough there.

A good entry nontheless!

Special Delivery! by cobrajs 2023-05-01T11:04:22Z

0 poops dropped, 0 hats collected - GREAT JOB :joy:

Funny thing is that whenever I thought about delivery, my second though were pooping birds. 1st world's problems right?

- Pico entry is always cool - Really dig the design, especially that the bird is quite detailed! - A music in compo entry is always a + - Cool, fun and quick with more than 1 objective

A bit confusing controls at first (especially the gravity), but I enjoyed it overall. Good pooping job!

Winter Factory by Jul._.li 2023-05-02T22:14:30Z

I didn't expect Christmas early this year! :gift:

- The visuals are absolutely adorable - Which are complemented with cute music - I like the actuall chill vibe going on. You're making some kid happy! - The gradual difficulty is a big + - There's actually quite a lot of complexity for such small amount of inputs!

Great job, especially for a COMPO game :blue_heart:

The Mailman by Castitatis 2023-05-01T19:11:32Z

Had a blast punching stupid hooligans!

- I like the aesthetics, I'm always a sucker for low poly / pixel art games - Colors are chill to the eye, I like it as well - Variety of enemies - Variety of smack ass possibilities (wish there was a AOE letter throw) - Actual difficulty is quite good - Audio / SFX in Compo is always a +

Not sure if I've found it anywhere but would be cool to have any sort of healing aid, or maybe I missed it completely?

Anyway, great entry. Enjoyed it a lot!

Reincarnation Express by Xlores Liang 2023-05-01T12:12:02Z

I'm not really a fan of visual novels as games, but I gotta say you have a nice narration! I've also went back to your previous entry and saw that you sort-of specialize in this. It's good that you try to get better and things you're already good at :heart:

Curiosity question: can you be more specific to what was made by Stable Diffusion? I believe there will be people asking you on why you used AI-generated tools for COMPO entry. :slight_smile: I honestly don't mind, but just giving a headsup :sweat_smile:

Reincarnation Express by Xlores Liang 2023-05-01T13:03:07Z

Thanks for clarifying!

And True to that, I am still a bit novice in SD stuff though, but I'll probably use a bit more in my personal projects as well now.

Dungeon Delivery by Krynxx 2023-05-02T21:22:49Z

What an idea you had there! I delivered 4 times!

- I like the minecraft graphics for this - the memory game about remembering a map layout is great, but can be a bit rough at the beggining - the SFX is great, so is the ambient sound - There's more than enough time to make the objective, which is nice

I bet you put the guy in a random pre-defined spot at the beginning. It would be nice if the last check was remembered, so I don't end up running to the same place 3-4 times in a row (I never managed to get to the left side of the dungeon)

Also, the controls are quite clunky, especially jumping. I believe you wanted something to add to difficulty, but the jumping killed me in a rather annoying way unfortunately.

A good job nontheless!

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-01T12:19:35Z

I managed to climb to around half the distance

- Good visual design - I like the skeleton animation used here - multiple ways of handling the climbing problem - Nice height / progress indicator - Not sure if there's any music or did I have a bug? The SFX is there though - You can spam the clicks to go insanely fast :joy: - Are the climbable objects randomized or are they set in pieces? I had an issue where I couldn't find a way forward 2 or 3 times - As others pointed out, the rocks collapsing is a bit too often to my liking.

A good job nontheless! Please list what each folk did in the description. It's always rewarding :)

Bag Stranding by danmerey 2023-05-01T10:48:53Z

What if death stranding was 2D...

What I liked - Multiple items incentive - The actual forces applied to the boxes are cool - Graphics are spot on for Death Stranding spinoff - I love developer voiceover in effects, shows dedication - I like that, in the end, I could move almost everywhere even when overencumbered by jumping

Of course you could fit as much as possible in a single box until it starts popping out. It's a little bit too long IMO but hey, it's the Death Stranding magic :sparkles: Great job!

Question: where did you get the rain effect? Have you recorded it actually?

Rocket Car Delivery by TumblingPuffin 2023-05-01T11:54:33Z

Nice take on some GTA-themes RC car mission.

I like the simplistic, industrial design you went with (grey and orange as in engineering).

The model of the truck is incredibly detailed for a low-poly model! What software did you use for that?

I believe though that the controlls are a bit off. You would need to check if you have correct weight of the truck. They should usually be a bit more on the heavier side. The suspension was on the sturdier side, hence the game feels unnecessarily difficult for what it is supposed to be.

Same with the cargo you carry. It feels too light IMO and sometimes I got to reset even that I thought that my cargo was in place, but touches the air for a split second.

What I did like was the actual propellers system, quite neat design!

Nevertheless, it's a fun little project you got there and hey! It looks like it's you first LD game, so CONGRATS! You did it, and that's what matters :ok_hand:

Keep up the good work!

Isles Express by Cinterre 2023-05-01T23:26:05Z

I enjoyed delivering the stuff by the boat!

The graphics and SFX are spot on. especially for PICO-8, which is a nice addition (I've seen so many games made on it lately... I think I need to take a look myself)

I really like this game but Holy Moly this steering is difficult at first! Of course being on a father's boat I quite understood and I know you wanted to go for something extra and not just simple go from A to B.

Good entry!

PAPERCUT by moonsheep 2023-05-01T23:15:52Z

Got some old espionage / pink panther vibes!

The visuals are absolutely fantastic. You nailed the feel of the game like in the old criminal / detective comic book. Music is a really good touch there as well.

I found the controls a bit clunky, but it's about the experience and feels here, not a perfect gameplay.

Definitely a time well spent, great job guys!

Dลผi Dลผi

I hereby welcome you to the Ludum Dare community! Hope that your entry will spark another attendance of yours next time :)

There is not much more I can tell about the game itself than others have already said. I treat and rate it as your process and time taken to participate in your first Game Jam.

A couple of things that you may take a look into:

- Jumping when standing on the box does not allow you to move in the air while jumping (quite weird bug) - Maybe 2-3 levels design (introduction to mechanic > simple puzzle > advanced puzzle) could give you a nice setting stone for further development!

That being said, making and completing **your first game**, with actual logic and mechanics is a **priceless feeling**, so enjoy it! :video_game:

And hey! I liked the cute graphics :heart:

slow input, slow input, slow input... **hold up arrow 0.5 second longer** YEEEEEET.

I remember programming a lander to land on a moon in MatLab couple of years ago, that seems so similar. Wish I could use gamepad here instead of -1 to 1 instant thrust input. I also like the fragility of the ship. Reminds me of the building bridges game, where points can whistand certain amount of force applied.

At least I liked crashing with nice impact and listen to a good piece of music!
