its realy best game when i view in game jam 51,very good, looks too gud
Wow, I wasn't expecting a game like this from the jam. Good job!
A smooth and relaxing experience with some GREAT visuals to boot. A minor thing, but it could be better at communicating when you're "failing" since I suddenly got a game over and didn't notice. Might be a me thing, though, and wasn't paying a whole lot of attention (for good a reason, as I was just playing and being relaxed seeing my lil town grow!)
Hi, I love the mood and the music fits perfectly. The game looks nice, great job! It would be great to add support for AZERTY keyboards to move around easily. Also, I did not understand it, how does a stream dry up?
I enjoyed the calm atmosphere. Your game looks, feels and plays very nice. Great work!
Very cool and unique game, felt very polished. I struggled to figure out the combinations on my own so i had to read the description. I did feel like i got cities more often in some runs and in others not. I don't know if this was random or if i did something wrong. Other than that i had a lot of fun :)
Whoa. This is incredible.
At the beginning, I was a little bit confused as to what each card did (ig im a little blind cause i didn't notice the cards on the bottom left lol). But once I got the gist of it, it was quite intuitive!
The SFX choice really made the mood, along with the water lighting effects, animations, cloud shadows, all of those REALLY contributed to the mood. Definitely felt the most peaceful and atmospheric game I've played so far! Really cool spin on the 10 seconds theme, adding the element of choice and civilization building to it. I do think that the upgraded structure recipes should maybe be accessible in like an in-game "info" tab or something, if you plan to make a post-jam version. Also, the wood mechanic/lumber mill, along with the water channel moving rate was hard to grasp until like ~10 minutes or so for me.
Really smooth, SUPER high quality, and having to choose quickly between what you need or don't need at the moment makes the gameplay quite fun. Played for like half an hour. Honestly just LOVE the civ-style take on the theme :)
minor note: I don't know if it was intended, but you can wait every 10 seconds to get a new batch of cards without decreasing "cards left", and food production doesn't stop either.
A very impressive game. The core gameplay loop is solid; all this needs is more content to keep it interesting for longer. The time limit per hand of cards really pushes up the tension, creating an urgency that's interestingly juxtaposed against the city builder element.
I would have liked to see some more obvious feedback for tiles being upgraded different kinds of synergy situations. Most of those look pretty similar, so it's not necessarily obvious that something has happened, or if it is, it's not necessarily obvious what did. Ergo, having some kind of icon indicating what the building is, even if just for a moment after its upgraded, might have been helpful?
Anyway, good job with this. I liked it a lot.
@kiririn51 Thanks for playing ! Yes, you are right, the cards you get are random besides the starting ones so you can just run out of cities at some point - not ideal we had some discussion around being able to trade out cards to make sure you can get more cities but ran out of time.
@martinboue Thanks ! The water flow gets weaker the further you are from the starting oasis, you can use fast channels to help water flow more
@kuami6 Thanks for playing ! Yeah the city cards are random besides the first ones - so you can get unlucky sometimes.
@bxyzzz Thanks so much ! Yes we wanted to do an in game info menu for the recipes at some point but ran out of time. Yeah not the most intuitive to figure out the lumber mill mechanics straight away - ideally there would be some in game tutorial to show this as well. Also yes, there should be some penalty for not picking a card so you can't just hoard food :D
@jaco-van-hemert Thanks ! Yes definitely - the initial setup took most of the time so we did not get to do many building combinations, but that would be what the game needs most to stay interesting. As for upgrades - most of them have new building models but they do not always look the most unique and for the Borough we didn't have time to make a new model sadly so that's a bit confusing.
You made a realy impressive solid game in the short time of a game jam! It has almost all neccesary features for a complete minigame :). For constructive feedback, it was a bit confusing for me how to generate wood in the first run. The descriptions helped me out in the end, but a tutorial without timer would be helpful. I am also not quiet sure about the lose condition. Because of the ten seconds timer I didn't looked constantly on the counter how many cards I have left, so I mostly lost with surprise. Once I had 4 cards left after I lost, maybe a bug? Besides that it was lot of fun exploring and populate Titan.
@a-d-chaos The lose condition just happens when there are no more cards you can place, so if you have no wood and all require wood, the game ends. Although it doesn't take production into account  Thanks for playing, absolutely right it's confusing to get some of the layouts and wood in particular.
Impressive graphics and polish. Love the entry! I feel like I'm playing one of my boardgames
Such a relaxing game! Loved the music and the visuals. I wished there were a little more visual feedbacks, especially for the towns that generate lumber (maybe a forest on the nearby tiles?) I'm also not sure why but my channels stopped bringing the water at some point... Other than that I really liked it!
Edit : The forest showed up after I played another game, I just needed to be patient. I assumed they weren't working so I always ended up putting another tile near the town
solid jam game here! i wasn't able to figure out at first how to use windmill and fast channel cards. but the overall atmosphere is really relaxing (even with the 10 sec timer). i like this kind of games!
The game felt so good and polished, but it was also quite complex. I think a Tutorial would be nice, where the cards are gradually unlocked and everytime the game pauses and explains how to use the card. Took me quite a while to understand how to get wood. Your Tutorial on the page was very helpful, but having it in the game and splitting it up to make it more digestible would be even better.
Besides that, I had a blast playing your game, thank you ;)
Really nice card game/builder! Great work on the art too! It was quite complex for an LD game and I would probably have liked it more without the pesky 10 seconds rule  (seems to happen to me a lot this time!)
A really nice and soothing building game! Although difficult at the beginning the higher complexity is very welcome and adds a nice depth to the game. And the pretty tutorial on this paged helped getting into it too.
Incredibly nice graphics, and a pretty cool concept. I did never quite figure out how to build windmills and watermills, though, but overall, nice job!
A certainly good experience indeed.
Pros:
- The graphics, considered the time limit, are very good - The amount of complexity put in is commendable - Relaxing gameplay - Quite good soundscape as well, sfx on point to the game-style - Well done UI elements
Cons:
- This needs a proper tutorial. It feels like Total War: Warhammer-level of complexity (even though I read the description after playing the game) - A bit laggy HTML5 build (understandably so considering the game)
A titanic work must have been done there. Well done guys!
