I didn't really figure out what the screen on the right means.

I didn't really figure out what the screen on the right means.
Pretty nice. I think the gameplay is quite solid. A bit too long for an LD game maybe (not sure if that's a bad thing, ultimately) and the white color for the HUD font is not a very good choice since it can't be seen against the white boxes.
Nice little game, I like how the dragon changes after level ups. I would have preferred wasd/arrows to move + mouse to shoot better as a control scheme though.
Nice, but a bit confusing.
A bit too short, also not too much to do about evolution. Nice graphics though.
Really nice graphics, though a little slow on my old MBP :)
Could perhaps be a little more game-like.
I think the idea of videogame evolution was pretty good, but I'd also liked to see a bit more interaction between the sequences, eg. picking up a weapon in the 3rd level and being able to use it in the 4th.
Also, the controls were a bit wonky.
Nice idea, although I didn't really understand whether going through the 'doors' lead to a new room or just respawned things.
It took a bit too long to find the first enemy. And when it, it killed me immediately :D
Quite amazing, I love the atmosphere of the game. Very nice art too, and an extra point for the hidden level ;)
I really like the art style. I'm not much of a shmup player, but this was well made.
At one point my ship just flew out of the screen and didn't come back. No idea what happened.
@Tifu (and some others) I'm working on a balance update that should fix the issue. Also in the works better feedback in the early game to make it easier to get into.
Also, if you can win all the Horde ships with a single attack, you can consider yourself a winner, portals or no portals :)
It took me a while to understand the game, but I really liked it after that. I think the idea is good and the representation is clear enough.
I have to applaud for making such a complex game, great job! The learning curve is a bit steep and it's not very clear where the routes yield the best returns (and at which prices), but that's probably also because I didn't have that much time to play the game. I hope you develop this further, there's a lot of potential!
Very nice idea, I could see this developed further. The AI is killer though.
Also, right click opens the context menu in addition to cancelling a connection, I think that can be disabled somewhere in Unity.
I like the idea and the art style is nice, but the controls need more work.
Nice shadow effect. The colour of the portals was a bit confusing, as the portals where you needed the tokes were purple and the free portals were yellow as were the coins.
Really nice! Good mood and nice puzzles.
I think you use use lock cursor (in Screen class I think), now it's a bit annoying to constantly click out of the window.
(works fine on OS/X Maverics at least, btw)
"Connect the planets with trade routes" seems to be a genre of its own in this LD. Nice game nevertheless and very good work on the art and the mood.
The first three planets were invisible (except for their UI elements), I'm not sure if that was intentional.
Wow, really good. The art and sound fit the mood perfectly, and the gameplay ha nice twists.
A visual novel in LD? That's a nice change of pace :)
Really nice little shooter. The art is top notch and the gameplay works (even if it felt a bit confusing at times for me personally).
Quite a good little strategy game. The controls and the mechanics are clear and intuitive. I got swarmed by the enemies quite fast, though.
A poem game? Very well done in all respects, if a bit too short.
I like the idea and the puzzles were nice. Sometimes it was a bit confusing to though.
I guess I just wanted to ask how important play is in Ludum Dare?
I've never been very good at bullet hell shooter's, but I do like this one!
I like the idea, but I don't really see how it's connected (heh) to the theme. Also, the controls weren't very good, I managed to deduce the godfather, but when I pressed space there was another person already in the way.
Really nice puzzle game and a good use of the theme. With art I could see this becoming a great small indie puzzle game.
I really liked the art and the music, but the difficulty is just too much. It seems nearly impossible to get to the next world. Since the portal never opens twice, why not either kill the player immediately it shuts down or give another try?
While it's a nice little maze game, I think a little more variety would be welcome. Also, what's the function of the hearts in the top right corner? There wasn't anything that damages the player in the game.
The only thing missing is an AI. Good work!
Nice variation on Scorched Earth type of gameplay.
Nice to hear actual (non-electronic) music in an LD game! All in all, a pretty neat puzzle game (though I got stuck quite soon).
Nice platformer. I think the controls work quite well (except it's a bit hard to switch 'side' by jumping, it just keeps reverting back).
The game's visually quite nice, and the core idea works well. The levels get a bit daunting quite fast (I would have liked some more simple ones before going into the whole save 5 guys in one level).
Thematically it's rather light as the 'ghost' is little more than a cursor. I think it could be emphasised visually (e.g. make the levels look like mansions or other haunted places, etc).
There should be more games with these kind of text & choice -based random elements ;) I think the game is quite well done and ambitious for an LD game, and overall very well done.
I also used Unity 4.6, and found it quite capable on the UI side.
The art is top notch! I think the gameplay would benefit from some sort of collectibles.
Awesome twist on the theme! And the tomb is just as hard as it needs to be! :D
I think the use of theme here is quite ingenious, and the mood is spot on. The target area around the table is sometimes quite obscure, though.
+1 for snowmen ;) Nice little shooter game.
Multiplayer for LD is pretty damn impressive! (if it really works, couldn't really test it myself :D) Also, awesome art. Didn't really understand what to do, though. And for some reason there's no rating choices?
We did consider adding a better path finding / AI for the teddy, but to honest it would have made the game a bit too difficult. :)
Goats, the staple of game jams since... 2013? The game makes me wish I had a controller here :( Looks great and it probably makes an awesome party game.
Definitely one of the best looking games I've seen in the LD ever. The gameplay is also a good take on the theme. Very impressive!
For some reason, I've always had a weak spot for bomberman-like games! This one also has a really nice art style (reminded me of comics like Mutts etc).
Quite impressive! I don't think I've played a zombie RTS before (which is honestly quite surprising given the flood of zombie-themed games). It's not really single screen, though.
I think it's a good interpretation of the theme. The level changes but keeps within the same frame. Overall a nice little platformer (not too easy for me, though).
Simple, but fun :)
Hah, loved the quips at the beginning of the level! Also a nice twist on the common top down shooter formula, though it was a bit confusing at first. The music and sound were also spot on, even if you opted out for them :)
Nice art style! Technically a single room game rather than single screen, but I'll let it slide ;) It seems the bullets hit floor too early.
Lovely art style, pretty fun dialog as well. Made me feel happy and relaxed, even though pitching events are a bit tense moments in real life. A bit short though.
Loving the effects a lot, nice puzzle gameplay also. A bit too gloomy music for my taste, but fun stuff overall. I guess portal is heavily referenced? ;-)
I was entertained by how I always managed to somehow fly out of screen :P
Very smooth gameplay feel and controls. Very, very fun. But aesthetically a bit too simplistic for me, maybe lacks some visual personality.
Pretty bare bones gameplay, but likeable. When the style is wuite simple then even the tiniest details and flaws receive much huger attention. This somehow reminded me a bit of oldschool Zelda, which is good :)
Very nice concept! At first I didn't realize it was a turn-based game though! Good work :)
Quite.. absurd?
Nice mood, but the RenderTexture (?) you're probably using to draw the tablet was broken.
While RPGs (even lite ones) are always impressive during game jams, I really don't see what makes this a single screen game.
Had to download it because I'm all in for Visual Novels in ludum dare :) Well, it was a indeed a novel but hardly visual. But it was pretty well written at least :)
Cats and post-apocalypse never fail! :D Nice little shooter!
Very nice puzzle game! I think the difficulty is just right (didn't have time to play more than 7 levels though)
Great mood!
The game gets a little confusing due to the unintuitive controls, but the sprites are nice and it's certainly keeping in with the theme.
Intriguing art style! I love the idea (though it's not technically single screen), but would have liked subtitles (I'm playing in a noisy environment).
Very good puzzle game, although too difficult to be completed while rating games. I really like the concept, it would be a good idea to expand on this!
The concept actually works quite well, too bad you didn't have time to make a proper story (although the lady sleeping in the bed gave some clue to what may have happened ;)). Also, it's not really on one screen as the level is scrolling.
I think pinball is quite ingenious interpretation of the theme :) And a Ludum Dare themed pinball! I also like the idea how losing balls causes time to run down by sleeping. Excellent :)
It was a bit difficult to get into the game and after losing, new game just flashes the play mode and gets a game over immediately. Love the idea, though :)
Base building is my favourite thing in RTS games so I really liked this one. I'm not sure if I understood it totally, even though I was able to escape the planet :P
Probably the most difficult driving game I've played in a long time :)
I think the theme for this one should be Entire Screen On One Game ;) The enemies sure looked familiar...
Nice theme, the audio worked well :)
I guess Twine games are technically on one screen :) Nice one.
I like the idea and the art style, but the game felt overly difficult.
Haha, I've been tinkering around with DOS code (in Turbo-C) lately and also considered doing a DOS game for the LD. The theme is a good fit for that. Nice little game, and always a feat when you don't have a modern easy-to-use engine to work with :)
Great game! I just wish the dragon's health was visible somewhere (and maybe a knockout timer)
Somehow reminds me of Paperboy, although instead of delivering papers you wreak havoc on the neighborhood. Controls could have been a bit better, but otherwise a fun game.
Nails the mood! But it's a bit too dark, I had to close the curtains to be able to play.
Great art but not much to do in the game...
Great art! The gameplay was good, but it was a bit too difficult to hit the... eh, targets?
Ingenious! Very well done, all the aspects were pretty much spot on. Also +1 for a pantless hero.
There's no wrath like the wrath of drunken Zeus!
... So, where's the wine?
Not bad, I like the reverse-pokemon idea! The battles were a bit too difficult, though!
The mechanics work well and the game is actually quite fun. The minimalist art style works well with the gameplay, although it is a bit light on the theme.
Nice twist on the theme and good mechanics, but the game gets quite boring towards the end.
Aaaargh :D :D The best game in this LD! The zombies are so awesome! Really good *everything*.
Amazing!
I almost didn't play this until the end, but I'm glad I did. What a twist! :o
Love the music and the art! Great job!
I like the concept, but the bull was way too slow. Also would be good to have at least some animation in the bull.
Didn't accept any input on Win8/Firefox.
Really atmospheric game and the story worked well even though the theme kind of spoiled the ending. Well done!
Clever use of the theme. The monster was a bit too slow though.
Interesting concept, if a little sadistic! Poor monsters...
Awesome pixel art and a nice endless runner!
Really nice! Quite an imaginative take on the theme :)
Fun game! But was it possible to destroy those towers at all?
Awesome intro! The game was pretty fun although it was a bit easy to get stuck into an obstacle. Love the art style.
Really cute! Maybe a bit too easy, though.
Always +1 star for making an adventure game for LD :) It would have been nice if the the cursor would change when an item could be used on an object.
Also, I'm curious, why GameMaker and not Adventure Game Studio?
Werewolves, yay! o/
Great pixel art! Very well done, I just wish the whole game would have been similar point and click adventure as the first part. Part 3 was too hard :(
Interesting idea, although the game itself was a bit too confusing.
Being T-Rex is the bestest!
Very nice. The art style was well chosen and fit the atmosphere perfectly. It's a good stealth game although I got stuck in the ventilation shaft :(
Best. Sounds. Ever.
Really good puzzle design and you really nailed the difficulty curve!
Really good variation on the pinball mechanics!
Cool game! Nice use of the two button controls.
Quite an original idea and well executed!
Great idea!
I really liked the music :)
I think the idea is ok and it's a nice feature to be able to battle other players in an LD game, but the resource generation is way too slow. It also appears to be built on top of some other games, as energy and mineral generators say "wood collected" and "stone collected".
But in my opinion Star Wars is always a plus ;)
I really like the art style.
Looks really good, but insanely difficult :o
Good use of the theme! I like the controls :D The retro-3D art was also cool :)
Best use of the themes so far! Also, I like the chart at the end :)
Really fun game! Good difficulty curve too.
Really fun and great looking game!
It seemed that it occasionally misread my key presses though :/
Whoa, that looks really similar to our game!
.. but unfortunately the fps was so low (maybe 1-2) that it was completely unplayable on my 2013 macbook pro (windowed 1024x768, fastest quality setting), even in the menu.
I loved the music!
Whoa, quite impressive! I love the art and the controls felt really smooth.
I got stuck near the broken vase :(
A bit too difficult!
Fun game and a great idea! Surprisingly hard to remember which ones not to eat.
Nice! I think this could be a good start for a much larger game :)
Fun and really nice pixel art, but a bit difficult.
Nice controls, though a bit difficult with a touchpad :D
It's like a mini-Crusader Kings :o
Quite relaxing :)
Haha, great work mixing Zelda and snake :D
Nice game, but I think moving the camera away diminishes the grow effect a bit too much.
Cats is always a +1 star! Good work overall :)
Awesome art and actually quite a lot of content!
This is really impressive! I don't normally like block mechanisms like that, but in this case they were really well integrated into the two button gameplay. Great work!
Really good work! Nice, interesting visuals and style, although I did notice some z-fighting polygons but nothing really major. Great atmosphere and music, love the motorcycle's momentum when steering!
Hah, I loved the intro! Really nice shoot 'em up, too!
The LD window is too small for the game, which hurts the playability a lot. Also, you use the same key for shooting and skipping dialogs, so it's really easy to miss the tutorials.
The art somehow reminds me of the first Alone in the Dark game. Maybe the music too. Nice and pretty innovative game!
Pretty fun puzzle game. I like the relaxed mood, even though it required quite precise timing.
I really like the sounds too, and the game is pretty good also. Also bonus for including a level editor!
Really nice puzzle game. I'm not sure I entirely figured out the rules be the end though :)
BIG SWOOOOORD!!!!
Nice work with the pixel art and sprite animations! Looks very pretty with the consistent color palettes and art style.
Directional controls felt a bit too sensitive as the shapeshifted gorilla character really easily overshoots a tiny platform - I thought that the momentum felt a bit jerky. Overall really good effort with the art and nice level design. Shame that there were no sounds.
Amazing art, I have to say! Quite ambitious game for LD too.
The platforms in the second room were quite hard to notice. I wondered for a long time what to do and then just decided to jump and was surprised I didn't die :D
Impressive voice overs! Nice art too, too bad I hate these kind of platformers :D
It took me a while to figure it out, but after that it was pretty fun! Also, it seems I don't have that good a sense of rhythm :(
This was fun! Using the photos is a good idea and works well with the story. I always respect making a point and click adventure for LD :) The ending was a bit abrupt though.
Nice! Even though it wasn't very long (which is probably the best for LD), you managed to make a lot of art and story. Well done!
That was fun! It's a nice variation on a stealth game. I kind of wish there was more content, though :)
Funny death sprites :)
Had some troubles with clunky jumping as the chicken just stopped all of its upwards momentum when it collided to platform walls. Nice, cheerful game overall.
I like the idea of randomly generated puzzles. There's a lot more that could be done with these mechanics.
I really like the idea of the game, although I didn't fare very well :) Boardgame-likes are always nice, but the game take quite long to learn for an LD game!
Just awesome.
Great concept!
The concept is fun and original! Good work!
Thanks for your feedback!
The standalone versions now have an improved mouse look.
Great art style! The puzzles were just right too. Definitely one of my favourites in this LD!
Great art style and probably the music in this LD.
I like the visuals and the concept, but using directional controls in isometric perspective makes the character really hard to control.
The concept is fun and original! Good work!
Great take on the theme and really fun to play! Damn those customers though :D
I like the transition effects on the tiles.
I like the art.
Quite an achievement! I like the art style and the humour! Cool JRPG gameplay too.
Got stuck in the second level since I just walked through the blue cube and the green one was stuck to the wall.
Looks good visually, but the first level was way too large.
The pliers <3
Great art and that's a lot of content crammed into a LD game!
I wish I'd named the characters something else than random strings of characters though :D
This was good! The gameplay is fun and the twist works. The level design was also top notch, although there could have been at bit more save points.
I'd say you really nailed the mood. It was a bit annoying to have to watch the cutscene after losing, but otherwise the flow was really good and I liked the balance between different abilities and the enemy design made the gameplay interesting.
Great art and the gameplay was simple and fast enough. I agree with the previous commenters that the attacks should have had more feedback. Not sure if I completely understood the boons and sacrifices system either.
That's... wow. An actual GBA game during LD?
Loved the art, the gameplay and the fake ending, but the second level was a bit too confusing.
Nice game! The zoom effect was a bit weird, maybe because tilebased games like this don't really use one.
Very good work with the art in such a short time! Not even many jam games manage this much.
I found the gameplay a bit confusing and I think you should have opted for a bit smaller level.
I really liked the art style and the mood! It was a bit difficult, but otherwise a solid platformer.
Looks nice, plays nice and the constant jumping is a good twist. Bonus for including the change palette key!
Fun platformer and a lot of content for a Ludum Dare game!
It's a shame you can't rate on cute because I'd given you a 5/5!
Really nice story!
Loved the "make a game engine" task :D
The time could have ran a little faster, especially when sleeping. Other than that I really have no complaints, great work!
It was fun, but the game just suddenly returns to the main menu?
Really well done and definitely one of the most original LD games I've ever played!
- Kudos for having the instructions in the game so I didn't need to scroll down the page to read them (a small thing, but especially when your playing games in quick succession, really helps) - I like how it requires some honestly from the player as the game obviously can't tell which finger you're using.
So not the Dark Tower? ;)
The game was fun and the theme well implemented, though I was more than happy to sacrifice my youth since it was more trouble than it was worth :D
Fun twist on the endless runner genre, but the unfortunately controls made the game almost unplayable with a touchpad. I can imagine it could be fun on phone, though!
I have to say I absolutely loved the game but unfortunately wasn't able to complete it, because I couldn't figure out the code. The plaque above the cupboard didn't work after the first click, so I don't know if I missed some vital clue. I'm giving this overall 5/5 out of effort and because it's easily the best point and click adventure game I've seen in a Ludum Dare and adventure games are my favourite genre. I would have given a 5 for the story too, was there such a category. I think you probably should have left the code puzzle out, as it probably makes people quit an otherwise perfect game.
Also, there was no link to this page in the itch.io (latest version) page, which is probably costing you a ton of ratings.
The basic premise is simple and fun and the decisions are interesting enough, but using the mouse with the keyboard is clunky. I don't know if not having an actual mouse control is an engine limitation, but in that case I would have preferred a traditional menu approach. Also when selecting attack when there's only a single enemy left, it would be nice if it would automatically attack the only enemy.
Fun little game, although the controls were a bit wonky (the bridges could have been a little wider).
It seemed like the tank didn't really move to the direction I wanted it to.
This game made me wish I was better at platformers :D
Good art and execution and the slippery controls made sense for the ice cube. There was also enough different challenges with the mechanic and it felt it fit the theme well.
It's cute, the puzzles are nice and the challenge is enough. There's really nothing bad to say about this.
That was actually pretty fun couple of minutes. Not bad!
It was certainly a good use of the theme and the first two or three rooms were nice, but it's a bit too easy just get stuck because no one else is left.
Cats. Cats is always nice. And dogs. A card battle game is always very ambitious for LD, but I'd say you delivered well!
It's a bit complex for a LD game (don't have much time to learn everything), so I definitely didn't understand all the details.
Very Lemmings, which is not a bad thing, as Lemmings would have actually fit the theme too. Sure not the most innovative gameplay, but I actually haven't seen any other Lemmings type games so far in this LD. The execution was top notch in my opinion and even the difficulty curve felt good (which is rare in LD games).
Overall, a very solid game!
Making a roguelike for the compo is always commendable! Overall, very good work.
The levels were a bit too large and empty though, especially since in LD fast bite-size experiences tend to work the best. I also didn't encounter any other sacrifices than the go down a level.
Very nice mood. The concept is somewhat similar to our game!
You should probably remove the "/edit" from your LD link in itch.io.
It links to to the edit page.
Great concept, great execution. One of my favourites so far!
Thanks for reminding me how much I suck at rhyth games :D It was good though!
Umm, yeah. Why not?
The art and animation are simply amazing! I loved the idea and the execution is not certainly lagging behind. The only complaint I have are the controls, I'm playing on a laptop and mixing keys and touchpad is a tad bit inconvenient.
Probably the most innovative game in LD45! And also the most literal use of the theme. I love the idea, but find it a bit too random. Since you can't know which piece comes next, it's a bit too easy (and frustrating) to create impossible levels and have to reset constantly.
You really nailed down the Megaman feel in every aspects! Definitely one of the best games in this LD!
Thanks for the comments everyone! We're super excited and humbled you like the game so much
@nathan-wash Yeah, the defend was left out due to some miscommunication and then time running out. We're probably adding it as a bug fix.
@paude That's also my pet peeve, but we just didn't have time to do them in pixels. Now I did get an idea how that might be possible with relatively little effort
@barron Silvanna is the BEST :smile_cat:
@gregoire Galgatax will get you for that!! :cloud_lightning: (honestly Mordina probably was happier not to be involved in such puny measures)
And if you like the game, please rate it on Itch.io too :)
@cybersoftuk Odd. It seems to work for others. Can you tell me your browser/OS/resolution?
Thank you everyone!
@bendmorris We dropped out of Audio because we didn't do the music ourselves
@cybersoftuk There's actually nothing cut out of the game view, but it does look a bit odd, so I made the window on Itch a bit bigger. Should be better now :)
This is definitely one of my favourites so far. I love the idea and the gameplay was fun and entertaining. Also the fish we quite cute.
It was at first a bit hard to grasp what you were supposed to be doing (not reading the game descriptions ftw), but after that it was fun. I managed to get 3/3 uranium in the second level but it didn't complete for some reason.
Fun game!
It didn't show metal in the UI
Not the first game about homeless people I have played in this LD, but probably the best! Nice art, fun gameplay and the balancing was quite good for a jam game!
Wow, one of the best so far. Love the idea and great execution!
Very nice! The art style reminds me of Hitman/Lara Croft Go game, which is not a bad thing :) I think you used the lowpoly style quite efficiently!
The characters could probably move a bit faster and I thought it was a bit redundant that you had to select the character in the start of every turn when you had just one. Also some kind of highlight when targeting the enemies and others would have been nice.
Overall, pretty great game!
Certainly a feelgood game :)
Really nice art and mood!
I think the level could have used a bit more variety to help navigate and I also hit an invisible wall even though there seemed to be visible walls around the level.
@guitarbro Just the I was trying to go down.
Great mood and I like the subject, good use of the theme!
Loved it! And it even worked on my iPhone!
Nice idea and generally good execution, but the controls were a bit clunky, especially having to use mouse + space + e to put ingredients into the cauldron.
Edit: Nevermind, missed the double click.
Amazing art style!
Quite a nice idea and the gameplay was good, but it was way too hard for me :(
I love linguistic games! Great work and nice use of the theme :)
It was a bit hard to figure out how to fill in the words and what you needed to communicate to the aliens. It would have been nice if the player's text would have appeared below the sprite so it would not have overlapped with the aliens' text.
This game geniunely made me smile! Great work. I like the evolution of the snake gameplay, even if it was a bit hard to figure out that you're just supposed to go right at first.
Very impressive! Great writing and I love the visuals too!
The notebook should probably open automatically, since clicking it is the only thing you can do at that point.
Wow, awesome mechanics and quite an achievement to create such a polished game in the compo!
The only complaint I have that the canvas is too tall for a full HD display I have to scroll the page up and down constantly.
This was certainly quite SOMETHING.
I like the idea and I thought it was very fitting to the theme, but gameplay-wise just ended up randomly clicking on the screen. Good work overall though :)
Really nice puzzle game! The mirrors warped my brain though...
I love the art style and the mood. Reminds me of old black and white samurai movies! The game was pretty hard though.
This was pretty great! (and also quite pretty)
I like the interpretation of the theme where the level actually grows around you. The mechanics were good and the gameplay seemed balanced although at the end I didn't have to struggle at all.
The was also maybe a bug that I just didn't die even though the heart meter was at minimum for a long time before I figured out how to build the cauldron.
I'm not really into platformers and generally suck at them, so this one was a bit too hard for me. I loved the simple art style and the animation was really good though!
I love the quirky visuals, but didn't really get what I was supposed to be doing in the story mode.
Great little metroidvania!
The game was a bit too tall to fit on my screen though.
I absolutely adore the art style! The puzzles were mostly fun too, but I don't really like a time limit in a puzzle game, tends to make it more frustrating than fun.
Funnily enough, I did a very similar but top-down game as my first Ludum Dare way back in LD16
Your graphics are much cuter, though! I liked how the game looked and sounded, but I suck way too much in platformers to get very far
I kind of like this, even though I don't think I stil really figured it out :D
Cute! Somehow the design of the enemy ghosts (?) reminds my of Ghibli movies, especially Spirited Away!
Wow! Great use of the theme, really fun gameplay and amazing art! I also laughed out loud in the intro
I don't think I like dinomelette  Loved the sounds and the art, great work!
So pretty and meditative! Wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing after the beginning though :D
I got some strong Monty Python vibes here :D
Surprisingly addictive!
Dinosaurs!
This was really fun game and a great idea! Also, dinosaurs!
@wilhelmstein Yeah, didn't have the time to add any pop up notifications. Definitely should improve on those.
@bollwerk It should only throw you out if you're hacking a city that's taken over. Probably a bug! The rotation was something I just didn't have time to fix...
At first I wasn't impressed but now I'm glad I played it through!
Super cute! I'm an Anibun fan now  Simple but attractive game, I think controlling multiple characters worked pretty nicely and the game feel was spot on.
Love the art style! Making all the graphics must have been a Herculean effort  :sunglasses:
Looks great and plays great! I really like the simple puzzle idea that you found a lot of different uses for. If I were to nitpick, maybe just "don't die" is a bit lazy use of the theme :)
Isn't it super cute? It is super cute.
Love the physics based gameplay too!
Love the daytime samba! The art is amazing too, great job. It would be nice to have the attack button be different than the recharging one, as now if you're next to the glowy orb and there's an enemy, the cactus just tries to recharge.
I'll say this even before playing the game: the best name ever! Let's see how the game holds up...
**musical interlude**
Ok, nice! I love the retro art style and while simple the game was really fun! Took me a few tries to figure out how those eyes worked, but at least I got the right offering on the first try!
Great work!
Great interplay with a limited number of elements and ingenious level design! Overall awesome work!
I feel like it was a bit too difficult (a single mistake and you're done) and riding on a single joke, but on the other hand I'm not a big fan of path-based tower defense games in general :stuck_out_tongue: I did like simplicity of it all a lot and the art works great, as does the gameplay. Not saying anything about the music
Thanks for the link :) As I said on Itch, great work!
I love the idea, everything with words is always great! :) The mood was also perfect.
From the thumbnail I thought there'd be a wizard! But oh well, bartender's fine as well!
Really nice little adventure game. If something, maybe some sort of indication where to click if you want to exit a screen, sometimes I had to scan the whole screen with the mouse just to get back to the previous screen.
Anti-tower defense is a cool idea! I think it could be a bit more fast-paced, but good work!
Excellent art! I like how much you've done with such simple mechanics and just few tiles to build into. It is super hard though!
Nice use of the theme!
Really love the art and the mood here! So it's like snooker with a branching storyline? :D Some bits were quite difficult, though!
I love the artwork and the concept is great, but I feel it's a bit too difficult for how it feels otherwise (or I'm just a really bad at typing). Amazing work nonetheless!
Looks great, but for some reason the mouse seems to offset over the buttons so to click them I need to press above them.
I've always been fascinated with using chess mechanics in other games so this is really interesting! I think it's actually one of the best TD games I've played in a long while too! Great combination and excellent work!
Nice and somehow... relaxing. Maybe it's the chill music?
Why am I listening to a fish?
Love the idea and the art! Great work!
I really dig the art style and music was appropriately gloomy too! Was there a way to know which grave to dig or was it just down to luck?
Lovely art and nice idea for the game, but I felt like the stamina ran out a bit too quickly.
This was lovely! Great (hand drawn and scanned? looks like that) art and nice little puzzles. Sometimes it was a bit hard to interact with things, maybe too small hit boxes or something.
Took me ages to find the last item though!
It was a bit hard to figure out at first, but a fun little game nevertheless!
I though I had it all figured out but then I died (?) of loneliness
I really like the look of the tile map, but had trouble interacting with stuff.
I like the idea but playing with mouse was pretty hard.
The time limit seemed a bit generous? A fun game, still!
The amount of coins would have been nice to see on the screen. I didn't realise at first that the final game doesn't need coins.
@nablaz Yeah, I totally ran out of time with all the interactions and had to concentrate only on the ones essential to the storyline.
@wheybags I would have wanted to add the keybinds, but didn't have time. Not sure if that would count a 'port' though.
I added a walkthrough PDF to the Itch's Downloads section if you want to just experience the story without getting bogged by the puzzles.
@arad-hamidsamiee I remembered it when doing one of the final builds and could have just removed it, but decided to leave it as an easter egg.
@nyubi I did the art with GraphicsGame, it's a free sprite editor.
Yeah, might be that the keys would be ok to add, it's more of an accessibility feature anyway. I was also considering full old school Ultima style controls with keys to open doors etc, but didn't have time for that either (and it might have been a bit tedious).
I love it when people make roguelikes for LD! (I guess one day, I should too...) Nice art and smooth gameplay EXCEPT for the controls!
Definitely one of the most innovative games I've played so far! The art style fits the game perfectly too, great job!
First, the art is great, love the style! Also the story was pretty endearing and used the theme well enough.
I think it would have been cool if you could have gone from the last screen to the first one, effectively creating another loop. Also it took me a while to realise I can combine items, as it was not said anymore, even if it is quite standard point and click fare, it's not present in all games of the genre. It would have also been nice if there had been some acknowledgement when using items on hotspots they're not working with.
All in all, very good!
Very fun game, though the web version crashed in the boss. I think you should limit the maximum amount of screenshake.
Wow, a lot of content! The art is really nice and the gameplay is definitely unique and fits the theme.
After a couple of worlds the fights start to get a bit long though and I couldn't figure out how most of the abilities complement each other, or was it just the couple of obvious one?
I really liked it! And it fits the theme and especially the name very well!
Wow, this is splendid indeed! Best use of the theme I've seen so far and good job figuring out how to make Red November a single player game!
Well done, good sirs!
This was great! Really fun and polished game. I have really vague recollection I used to have somehow similar physical game as a kid.
Haha, wow!
I like the level transition effect, though the screen shake is a bit much! Overall nice little game!
Simple but idea works well!
Wow, love the idea! You also got a lot out of a relatively simple mechanic, great work!
I loved it! Nice and challenging but not hard.
I found a way to get stuck though, if the crow flies away with the hat, there's no game over even when the time runs out.
Great art style and fun gameplay, though I think the best option was to just ignore the enemies and run? I got the balloon upgrade but didn't figure out what to do with the balloons.
Wow that was ... stressful. Certainly a unique game and the idea worked very well!
Nice mood, but dragging the circles felt a bit clunky, maybe add more feedback to that?
I always applaud anyone who manages to make an RPG for LD (especially for compo!). Overall, quite a good game, though I feel the village area could have been a bit smaller, as it was getting a bit exhausting walking back and forth (the boots helped a bit though!)
Wow, a proper roguelike! Props for that! I also like that there's a leaderboard.
Pretty good platforming controls, but having to start over after game over was a tad bit too punishing for an LD game in my mind.
I needed to restart once to really get going (i.e. read the tutorial again after I had played a bit), but I had fun! I don't know how it's infinite though since I won with the first dynasty on the second game :D
I like how the new character spawns right to the same point where you die. Other than somewhat annoying camera, a very good entry! Not sure what was supposed to happen in the end though.
I really liked it! The art is great and there's a really good mood in the game. It might have benefited from a slightly larger font and less text per screen.
I love the old school Sierra aesthetic!
The links don't work?
Simple, yet brilliant idea!
You really nailed the mood there! I don't know if it was on purpose, but when it was dark, the 'E' was impossible to see. Great artwork too!
Great art style! Fun gameplay too, though super difficult for me at least :D
A lot of cool stuff here with the procedural generation and all! I did not survive for long so probably best that I stay out of forest fires in the future
Really neat little puzzle game! The difficulty curve was pretty good, though it got a bit too hard in the end and having to replay all the puzzles was a bit too much. Overall, well designed puzzles and a good use of simple elements.
@woahitsjeff @saryah There were some bugs and we added a couple of more messages giving more instructions, hopefully it's more playable now :)
@goat Yeah, we should definitely have an indicator when the demons are closing in! Thanks for the feedback!
@very-bad-bunny-studio Art is made by @cheezegami and music by @danae!
@boaromayox Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! We would have liked to have a minimap, but just didn't have time to implement it, or figure out another way of tracking the demons. We changed the concept quite a bit during the jam, which lead to some things being not as optimal, one of them being the way too frontloaded dialogue and another the healing mechanic. Originally, you could use all the petals to heal the tree, but as we did the rites, it would have made the game incompletable if you could use the same petals as you used for the shrines, so only the ones used for the towers were applicable.
@yulotomorrow Yeah, we started off as a tower defense game, but then slowly drifted more towards a puzzle game.
I like the idea, it's quite original and having to balance between protecting earth and saving people is cool!
Cool idea, but at least in the web version clicking on most of the distractions didn't seem to do anything (the cursor changed so I assume I was clicking in the right place).
OMG this is the cutest ever! And very nice puzzle mechanics to boot too! I don't really have anything to add, it's pretty perfect as it is. Amazing job!
That was a cool little shooter! I didn't really notice the adapting AI, but it's a cool idea. Loved that the place is New Babylon and the AI Innana!
Simple gameplay, but it works and the art and the mood were top notch!
Really nice art and good mood! Also I will not be put in charge of anyone's plants, ever
This is quite an achievement for a Ludum Dare game, even for a large team. The game looks amazing and the gameplay works well, even if it takes a bit of time to learn everything. My only gripe really is that it's pretty time consuming to play, which becomes a problem when you want to rate several entries a day.
Great work!
This one's really well polished. I do suspect that it's a tad bit harder in Finnish than in English  Where did you get the dictionaries? I'm not used to seeing word definitions popping up on word games, so that was a cool feature.
This is the cutest ever! Really nice mix of hack'n'slash and building mechanics. The tutorial messages were a really nice addition, though I think I missed some trying to juggle so many things at once. Definitely one of my favourites so far!
Really nice idea, though I struggled to get very far with my very clunky drawings! Great job!
I like the idea of streamlining a RTS game to a small grid, but those enemies multiply fast! Also, it's a bit too easy to accidentally spend too much money before buying a settlement, which means you get stuck immediately and can't do anything.
Short and sweet! This was a cute lil' game!
The game is just a load of crab, the art is so crabby it feels like a cash crab.
Can I just say wow? The art is excellent and the gameplay evolves from simple clicker to a more narrative experience so fluently. I loved every second of it, right down to the bitter end! Amazing job!
The art style is really nice and fits the setting. Nice use of the theme too. The game was quite difficult though!
Impressive amount of art for just one artist! You really nailed the mood too here. I'm not sure if the monsters in the forest were meant to do something or if the magical symbols had some meaning?
Wow that was hard! Nice little shooter!
Looks great and plays pretty well! Took me a while to realise you were not supposed to actually attack the chicken and it gets way too hard after the first set of towers is destroyed, but I had fun! Bonus points for the isekai title!
Cool little management (?) game! The art is really nice too. I managed to basically completely evade the inevitable though!
Took me a couple of tries to figure out everything, but in the end I did managed to build a completely balanced town with a healthy economy and maxed out happiness! It's a really nice town builder and quite an accomplishment for Ludum Dare! The mood is peaceful and I enjoyed playing it. It would be nice to have a bit more information on the costs over time, especially the roads really got me on the first tries since it wasn't super obvious and I didn't read the text carefully. Maybe have an icon on the building that have a cost over time? Also, it would be nice to be able to start new roads from building, now I think it's possible to accidentally dead end yourself.
(ok after writing this I realised I completely forgot about the goal! I got everything else except the 500 inhabitants. Oh, well...)
I will never look at Socrates the same now.
Really cool to see a NES game in LD! Looks great, but I couldn't even finish the first level because I didn't figure out how placing the blocks works.
This game is so much my jam! The simple visuals fit the game perfectly and the UI was very clear, although the text box on the left could have been a bit smaller or the font bigger, as the text next filled more than a quarter of the area.
It took me a bit to figure out how it works, but a really cool little puzzle game! Great art too!
Oh wow, the production values are amazing for an LD game! Great job! Loved the style and the humour too! Definitely one of my favourites so far!
Love it! I would think something more modern like a mall would have fit better as an environment.
I loved the story but died before I could finish (at least I think so?) and unfortunately the gameplay was a bit too repetitive to replay all the way from the beginning again. With a continue option this would be GOTY for me!
The game looks really great, the mix of 2D and 3D works really well! I think it would have been cool if the boss regained at least a bit of health between battles, though.
Ultimately quite simple core gameplay, but really nicely done with the cards and the art and everything. And the ending was pure gold too!
I didn't expect a superhot style time mechanic, but that was a cool surprise! I really dug the art style too and everything flowed well and felt polished with a lot of juicy effects. Only criticism I have is that the movement was maybe a bit too fast and slippery, with the character going a lot further than I wanted. Great work, nonetheless!
Amazing art! Boss fight extravaganza! I think the fights were really well designed, great job!
Love the old school comic art style! Also great work with the different endings, the dialogue/dodge gameplay is a nice touch!
This is definitely one of the more original ones! I actually tried playing it last night already, but was way too tired to make heads or tails of it. Today, I managed to grasp it better and it was a lot of fun to play, if quite hectic. I think the pace could be a bit slower so you'd have more time to pay attention to all the funny things happening to those people and changing the remote head feels of a bit unnecessary complication.
Herding cats amirite? Chaotic, but clearly by design!
Love the artwork and the whole concept is funny as hell! Would be nice to have different events too.
Nice use of the theme! I liked the game after I figured it out, but some ingame instructions might help.
An RPG for the compo is always super impressive! It was quite fun too, reminded me of old BBS games like Legend of Red Dragon and Usurper! Great work!
Why is the neighbour throwing bricks on my lawn  Cool use of the theme!
I think this is the first 'serious' game I've seen for LD, really cool! The mechanics work pretty well too, even if the game is quite hard with so many poaches coming in all the time! Great job!
That was indeed that quickest dungeon crawler I've ever played! The spikes were a bit annoying and always got me in the end though. Great little game with plenty of details to like!
Thanks for the feedback @teddyreid !
We certainly ran out of time, so the onboarding could have been better and the spawn points were a bit wonky in the last battle, as it was originally designed to be multiple small battles, but I couldn't get that to work reliably enough.
There isn't really much to say in terms of constructive criticism, it's an innovative use of the theme, the animations are super fluid and everything looks great. The big boss fight with the guy with the gun was a bit too much for me, but I'm not exactly good with these sort of games anyway!
It's a nice puzzle game and you integrated the theme really well!
The difficulty escalates quite quickly though, and I wasn't able to complete all the levels. Also I wasn't always 100% sure about the door logic.
Really nice and relaxing game! It could have used a bit more sounds and it was a bit light on the theme (I assume the day changed every 10 seconds), but I enjoyed it a lot!
I think the timeline is a great idea, though it took a bit of getting used to!
Really well done for just 12 hours! Now I wish I had gone the turn-based route too
I was also thinking about a turn-based game where one turn would be one second, but didn't figure out what it would be. This on the other hand is quite ingenious! Really nice puzzles too, only the sounds I didn't care much for. It feels a bit like cheating when you don't plot the whole path in advance, though clearly it's how it's supposed to be played!
I think the idea is solid, but the puzzles are way too hard to complete in 10 seconds.
I have to admit, not exactly what I expected when I saw the chess pieces in the thumbnail! A cool game nevertheless and I liked the visuals! For some reason, it always told me to pick 3 weapons but I never had more than two to choose from.
Really nicely done! The art is great and the animation on Citry was a great touch! I didn't really understand how it fits the theme though.
Hey Itch.io LD page neighbour
Really cool cyberpunk aesthetic and the game was fun too! On my second run I mostly got more speed and more spawns so things got pretty hectic pretty fast!
I love the mood and it's a very clever use of the theme! I'm not too keen on being on a timer while reading though, I feel like I'm being punished for being a slow reader
Started great with the story, but even the first fight was too difficult for me. It's quite disheartening that your damage is only a small fraction of the enemy's health bar, while the other way it's a huge chunk.
Haha, quite a clever idea! I bit hard for my meager platforming skills, but very well done in all respects and definitely one of the most innovative ones!
It's definitely a unique game! At least in the beginning the edible and poisonous mushrooms were maybe too distinguishable by color, i.e. the poisonous ones were always black and white, so it became a bit mechanical.
Nice! Simple gameplay, but enough to do for a jam game, and the mana rifts managed to keep everything from getting too tedious.
Oh, wow. First game I played this LD and I have to say quite an impressive start that is! Very well crafted game where everything just fits together perfectly. The story reminded me of Pratchett's Reaper Man, but I don't think it's possible to make a game about Death without some echoes of Discworld
I'm not sure if there was any actual gameplay in Happy Lala, though. Didn't seem like pressing the button changed anything.
@scidev many of the particles were my placeholder coder art that we just never had time to replace, so that probably explains why they were a bit out of place
@lenan There's full audio, I think you hit a bug. Reloading the page usually works + there's the audio on/off button on the bottom right.
Overall a nice and polished entry with a solid core! I liked how the game was turn-based even though this kind of wave survival gameplay is usual very action-oriented. The item prices were maybe a bit high, which made the pacing quite slow, at least in the beginning.
As a fan of point and click adventure, I can hardly not love this game! The art and writing are excellent and the alchemy mechanic was fun. The only complaint is that it could have a been a bit longer!
Oh wow, the amount of art including fully animated 3D characters is pretty astounding, as even though it's not my genre, the fact that falling off only teleported you to the beginning was nicely forgiving! This is a great entry!
Really nice work! Quite an expansive game for Ludum Dare and takes a bit more time than your average entry.
As much as I commend your dedication to making word games, this one was a bit light on the theme  Otherwise very good and polished typing game!
Clever and cute! And gets quite difficult very fast, but still an excellent puzzle game, great work!
Ooh, very serious topic, but well executed and a great fit to the theme! Simple, but captivating. My biggest gripe is that the game only teaches you how to play after you've made several potentially devastating decisions due to just not knowing how it works, and especially with subject matter like this, it's a serious bummer.
Wow that shotgun is loud
Cool game with a nice twist on the theme and lovely pixel art!
Really nice puzzler with a clever mechanic, though the levels get a bit tedious when you have to make a lot of moves before even being able to try and see what happens.
I really like the cover art! And nice to see another zelda-like too :) Unfortunately I couldn't get very far, because I kept dying in middle point the second dungeon room without any visible reason.
@oddballdave Good point about the food balance! I'm thinking of maybe not having the game over so abrupt when the food runs out. It would actually be more consistent, if without food the survivors started slowly dying and then when there's none left, the game would end.
@hierarch Thanks for the detailed feedback! You're right that the game becomes just about waiting for good colonists easily, but I decided it's better to have it too easy than too hard, and just didn't have time to balance it any better.
The adjacency doesn't matter but it definitely should!
Also you really don't want to see the cultists any closer
zoom.png
Though I was thinking of making them walk around etc in the future, but as of yet I'm not sure if that's worth the trouble or not. On the other hand, the abstract nature does lend to the more mysterious atmosphere.
Oh, wow, my favourite music genre combined with my favourite game genre! And with top-notch execution to boot! I only wish the game would have been longer, but obviously, it's understandable there's only so much time with production quality like that. A longer game with more nuanced guitar playing mechanics (support for those old Guitar Hero plastic toys gathering dust in everyone's closets?) would be METAL :metal:
Very unique mechanics! It took me a bit to get into it, but great fun afterwards! Would be nice to start with a bit smaller levels maybe.
I love that everything can be a hat! Very ambitious game, and deftly executed! I didn't notice any hitches or bugs!
It took me a while to understand what was happening and I'm not sure if I still entirely do, but there is a definite sense of discovery there! One of the most unique games so far! I love the mood and the art!
Very solid entry! You do a great job of introducing new element without the flood complicating things!
Really strong art style and right up me alley! The idea of using parallax-scrolling as a gameplay mechanic is super innovative, though I can't really see that much connection to the theme. Overall, great work!
Also, I think I've watched some of your videos recently
The tutorial made it sound more complicated than it was - more like a management game. But definitely a great little puzzle with amazing art and, well, can't say no to steampunk!
Can you add some instructions how to actually play? In plain English, preferably. I tried the web version and wasn't able to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing.
This reminded me of the late 90s/early 00s one room top down shooters! Very well made and for once the character moves fast enough
Couple of improvement suggestions: * The waves could come faster because there's no powerups or pickups to collect between them * You could have either autoshoot or some kind of reload mechanic, right now I didn't see any reason to not press shoot. * You should have those pickups!
With a bit of metagame, new weapons etc, this could be a pretty fun hyper hardcore game for Steam!
Given that there hasn't been a good FPS for 30 years, I liked this one! I'm not sure what the point of all those super long corridors was, though, and I ended up in a dead end, which I guess was not supposed to happen?
I loved the idea, but the minigames were a bit too much for me :D
This was really fun! It's a unique idea and executed very well, with a super cute art style!
The only complaint I have that it's a bit tricky to get the number of creatures to the rocket correctly, as it keeps changing and as the situation gets chaotic, it feels like you're losing because of the controls. Maybe consider at least pausing the game while the player launches the rocket? Also as mentioned above, # of current inhabitants + planetary max would be nice information in the UI.
Definitely one of my faves so far!
Very neat game with everything fitting together perfectly! I like the idea of one bad thing and one good thing after each level.
Suggestions: * I didn't immediately notice when the time ran out and it was jarring that the game just stops, maybe add an effect on the actual playing field or an different animation for the character to signal the player better? * I never managed to collect more than 8 coins. Since the game was getting more difficult with each level, I was mostly collecting less coins. Maybe spawn more of them or add more valuable collectables?
Great work!
Absolutely gorgeous art and great story too! The simple gameplay also worked well with the narrative driven experience. If something, maybe it would have been nice to get some kind of a hint where to go next and not just circle the place until I found the next interactable spot.
Well done! You could very well expand this to a great adventure game!
Took me a while to get in, but after I did, it was very fun! I'm not sure if there's a bug or if the font is just unclear, but in the beginning it seemed like the cost and the number of space left didn't correspond, which made everything very confusing.
The art is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! With the voiceover, the game feels super polished! Great work!
I noticed the typewriter effect was a bit buggy, as it kept flashing and only changed the red words to the correct one after it was shown. When the time ended, the selected item stayed floating on top of the grid.
The time felt short, especially in the beginning, so maybe ease in the player a bit more? And add some tooltips to the items, I wasn't sure what counted as a ration.
Damn assassin wand!
Very polished, excellent scoping, great art!
This game is so much up my alley you wouldn't believe. It took me over half an hour to complete and I rarely spend more than ten minutes on a single game. The writing and the art are top notch and the puzzles were excellent with a couple of exceptions.
I agree with @foolmoron that it would be useful to have the book visible while you draw the symbols and that it was a bit daunting in the beginning. As much I enjoyed solving the riddles, the mechanic started to get a bit stale towards the end. Also, some times it wouldn't register the signs correctly and some words were a bit too similar (hate and wrath are essentially the same thing, for example).
I don't know if it was intentional that the last symbol covered all the dots, but if so, nice touch :)
This is a very polished entry, even the very intro is perfection! The sword "throwing" gameplay is cool, though I ended up accidentally selecting some updates while clicking frantically to attack the enemies.
*ahem*
I'm here to present to you the most elegant game of this Ludum Dare award!
Great entry, short and sweet, excellent visuals that play perfectly together with the audio, and a rare LD puzzle that doesn't get infuriatingly difficult suddenly.. A bit light on the theme, maybe.
The music reminds me of Shadowgate, somehow!
Overall, theme well used and the game is a fun puzzle and has some genuine a-ha moments, and the main mechanic is pretty clever, but at some point it become bit of a chore to make all the "ingredients".
I really liked the art and the simple core gameplay works well, though I did wish I was able to summon some other imps too! I think there's actually a bigger (if still relatively small) game here.
Getting reset to level 1 after losing level 5 felt a bit too punishing though!
I love the idea, but I only got the second one by accident and I'm completely stumped on the third one.
Oh wow, that's a lot of content for a Ludum Dare game! The idea is fun and the gameplay reminds me of Darkest Dungeon. It was a bit light on the theme, but I would seriously consider continuing to work on this, since I think it has a lot of potential as a standalone game.

I somehow managed to move that smaller platform to the other side of the bigger one  I spent a long while trying to figure it out, but fortunately your gameplay video had that room so I could see that something is amiss with mine. Reloading the game fixed it.
This is a very solid puzzle game and you get a lot out of a simple core mechanic. The level design and pacing works well, too!
It's as you this is not your first puzzle game ;)
You really nailed the zelda-style level and puzzle design here!
What a lovely adventure game! I see you had maybe played Day of the Tentacle before  Looks and sounds great, and the writing is good too! I wouldn't have minded if it were a bit longer, but a lot of fun this way too.
Comments/small nitpicks: - In the beginning, I think moving "she is dead" to the next dialogue would have a bit more punch. - Would be good to have a different cursor or a highlight with the change room arrows. - Why doesn't the rubber chicken have a pulley in the middle?
I am somewhat a loss for words, but also determined to stay rigidly on the path of not making any cupcakes. Original and didn't outstay its welcome, well done!
Whoa! You really nailed the game feel here. For an LD entry, this feels really polished and smooth to play. i also like how the game get organically more difficult as you progress. Definitely one of the best ones in this LD!
This was really good. It didn't seem anything was missing or even unpolished, so very well scoped game. The music was a bit too repetitive, but other than that everything was really spot on!
This is one of those LD games that don't really need any extra work.
Most fun I've had with a soccer game in a while!
Whoa, really cool! As a fan of Bloodbowl I really appreciate this :) Very well made too, impressive for a Ludum Dare game.
Not sure if I missed something, but it would be nice if you could tackle or attack opponents. Now many characters are often too far from the ball and have little to do.
I love all sorts of word games so this one was definitely for me. The biggest problem is the one with all games that have to rely on a dictionary: sometimes it just doesn't recognise the word.
This is probably the best use of the theme so far, as it takes it down to the story level. Controls and gameplay were also very good, but the levels where you have to make platforms for Twodee were way too annoying since you had to reconstruct them after each missed jump.
@ZuhairGhias Thank you! That's nice to hear :)
Yes, the map is generated with Perlin noise. Each value is translated to a tile type and then it generates the foliage like the bushes and the rocks. The forests are generated by selecting a random grass tile and then adding a random number of trees to each grass tile within a certain radius.
We used just Unity, no extra assets except Post Processing Stack for the post processing effects.
Great voice acting! Especially the narrator nailed it 100%. Fun game too, if a bit repetitive.
Great art and music!
Although it was way too difficult for me, I enjoyed the idea.
This is one of those games that's pretty much perfect as it is.
For some reason the key 4 didn't do anything for me (Chrome on Windows 10).
I think this is a great idea, but the spelling the words is so difficult it gets frustrating very fast.
Great mood!
Great art and the game feel polished, but I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing in the surgeon part, which very much killed the fun for me. I understand that the feeling of chaos is what the surgeon genre is all about, but now the lack of instruction just made it frustrating.
@ponywolf Yeah, gauging how much to explain is always hard and in Ludum Dare where you have very limited time for iteration and testing even doubly so. Good work anyway :)
I'm not much into the speedrunning stuff, but it also worked well as an rpg deconstruction/parody :)
There's a lot to like here! The concept is good and I think could actually be expanded to a full game.
The part that needs the most work in my opinion is hitting the ball, it seems very hard to get even remotely anywhere you'd want.
The GameBoy style art is nice, but gameplay feels just like any endless runner and not a genre mashup.
Really great work! The art and music are top-notch, and the gameplay works well.
There was a bit too much time between the puzzles (I never got to the second one), and especially in the beginning; it's a bit confusing since you have no idea what the 'solve puzzles' means.
Couldn't catch a single fish :(
Wow. Just wow.
That was a nice little game. I think the worlds should take more than one shot to conquer, as now it quickly changes into kind of a cat and mouse game.
Really cute, but I have no idea how you're supposed to clear the second level :o
Really nice and polished. The levels (?) were way too long though, so it made this feel only like a rhythm game, leaving the time management and cooking parts out.
Nice work!
Only complaint I have is that the dialogues started repeating too soon.
Took me a while to catch on, but after that it was quite fun. The really slow attack was a bit annoying, though. I would have liked if different weapons would have had different attack speeds, reach, etc.
Bonus points of the excellent punny title!
Feels only like a match3 game, not like a genre hybrid. It's a nice match3 though :)
Very nice and polished game. I like simple turn based strategy games so this really hit my nerve.
I love the art style, I love the gameplay. Bonus points for the cyberpunk aesthetic.
Great work!

Really well done! The gameplay was fun and intuitive, though getting the right cards to hit any enemy was quite difficult. One of my favourites so far!
This is quite an ingenious puzzle game and very well polished. Well done ja torilla tavataan :D
This was really good! I like the art style and the gameplay was fun. I think there's potential in this concept for more.
Procedurally generated music? Whoa :D I love the art style! Gameplay was also fun and easy to get into. Those darn crows tho...
Not the first Metroidvania I've played in Ludum Dares, but definitely one of the best ones. Pixel art seems to be the go-to art style for the genre, so it was refreshing to seems something more 'hi def'. Jumping was a bit too slidey, but otherwise the gameplay was really good and I enjoyed the level design. A lot of content for a Ludum Dare game too!
That was a lot of fun!
I really like how the two genres blended together, playing was fun and never frustrating and there was enough variety for such a small game.
Selecting weapons was a bit difficult at times, maybe add keyboard shortcuts for them?
Also, was it just me or was the tomato (?) shotgun a bit OP?
Defninitely learned not to text and drive!
In addition to ours, this is the only game I've seen so far with a trivia mechanic :)
Very cool game, I like the atmosphere and the fps horror/trivia mashup. Great work!
Nice work overall, but some levels felt a bit too much like a chore.
I think there's a lot of potential in this kind of rogue/rpg/bomberman mashup. Good work!
Good mood, but it's not very clear what you're supposed to do in the game.
This is a top-notch game in terms of art and music and the concepts fits the theme very well. My biggest criticism is the difficult and having to restart the whole level all the time, which gets really annoying quickly.
I admit that I had my doubts at first, but this turned out to be a really fun game!
That whale, man!
Very good use of the theme! Overall, the dungeon crawling was quite fun and the combination works well.
It might have divided the dungeon building and crawling into phases, so you first build a dungeon and then crawl through it.
This really hit the right nerves for me! The gameplay is really good and though I first felt it's a bit too random and difficult, it proved to be just right. Excellent job!
You managed to cram a lot of content in the game and the graphics were nice, but the controls made the game way too difficult.
Also, you should opt out of audio category if you purchased the music somewhere.
Suddenly a metroidvania cycling game seems like a natural combination :D
I liked the puzzles, but the platforming was just frustrating.
This was really good! The difficulty was just right and the puzzles were fun. I think a programming game fits the audience here pretty well too :)
Cute and quite fun, but gets difficult fast. Controlling two characters at once is always so mind bending!
This was fun!
Took me a while to get a hang of it, but after that I really liked the gameplay.
I like the art style, but can't play the game because it's multiplayer only :( So no rating.
I like the idea, but the game was way too difficult to be enjoyable. 1 vs 5 doesn't seem very fair?
Well executed genre combination!
This was definitely one of the best ones in this LD so far. The only criticisms I have are that it's too easy to accidentally build a tower where the dough can was and that the difficulty curve is pretty steep with the second level being very difficult.
Unless I missed something, healing is way too expensive and since there isn't much you can do to avoid damage, it makes the game very frustrating.
Other than that, the art is really nice and the overall feel works very well.
The core gameplay was quite unique! And difficult! Didn't get far :D
It's a bit too confusing to play (no idea what I *should* be doing), but I had fun just shooting the ingredients!
Best music in an LD game ever.
Couldn't get further than the second level though.
There's something really fun here, but the controls were a bit off (the blocks maybe moved a bit too fast) and it was hard to tell what was going on.
Definitely very good work for a first jam game!
Who knew a turn-based snake game would work so well? Great work!
I don't really have anything to criticize :)
Nice and polished, but I felt it was way too long for a Ludum Dare game.
I like the idea and it suits the theme very well, but playing the game was just way too frustrating.
Nice one. The obstacles could have been a bit closer to each other straight from the beginning though.
Also worked well with PS4 controller :)
This was quite fun, but I think the autoclickers are an important part of the clicker genre, so this felt a bit lacking in that sense. Also the balancing (which is very important in this kind of a game) was quite off.
I think the idea is good and could be expanded into a pretty good clicker.
