I like the way you expanded on typical idle mechanics, especially the part where you lead all your friends to build the world!

EXISTING WILL PREVAIL

xatulu 2019-10-07 07:19

Really fun Clicker Game. The "World" was a bit unintuitive for me at first, but once I understood it, it turned out to be a great addition and break from the typical Clicker/IDle convention!

notexplosive 2019-10-07 07:50

There were at least 2 moments where I thought "oh I get it, I understand what this game was about" only to be proven wrong a few minutes later. Nicely done!

n0ught234 2019-10-07 09:26

Longest i've played an LD game. Timing of each upgrade was actually pretty good. I found myself spam clicking to try to get the next upgrade, not noticing I've been doing that for for the past 10 minutes. Not terribly innovative but at least you followed the theme by incorporating it into a cookie clicker style game. Audio was nice as well. Well done!

tasakasama 2019-10-07 09:28

The sound is good, the theme is there and a clicker it still works well but the buttons are too big... But overall it works well done

congusbongus 2019-10-07 09:31

Oh man I did not expect nihilism! The agent behaviour is pretty neat! Amazing you got four phases in such a short amount of time. Great music too!

cornettheory 2019-10-07 09:44

I liked this a lot, and even if you didn't compose some of the music, I like the use of dynamic stems.

also, by the end, I had 600+ friends per minute, and the game didn't slow down or anything, so that was cool.

nestral 2019-10-07 09:49

It is a great game! I had a lot of fun playing it. I've managed to set all prices to 0, but it didn't really affect the game.(I don't know if that's a feature or a bug) Very good game anyway!

tarfield 2019-10-07 10:26

Really cool design, and one of the best clicker games I've played. Great work :)

adroitconceptions 2019-10-07 10:47

interesting clicker. good use of phases to mostly prevent the need to go backwords to do minor tasks..

stefanie-leitch 2019-10-07 11:15

Loved this game! Clicker games are one of my favorites but it's hard to find unique entries into the genre. This one definitely felt like something I hadn't seen before. Solid game, would have loved to have more, but I understand given there wasn't a whole lot of time. Great job!!!

tic 2019-10-07 11:25

Nicely done, I like the audio and the friend building phase. Good idle game.

hcursino 2019-10-07 12:14

Yaaay modern physics clicker! I could spend hours here just watching the world rebuild! Awesome work.

goldenevolution 2019-10-07 12:24

Amazing clicker game with cool graphics and sound effects. I only got stuck at the beginning for a while, as I didn't know that more options would unlock, the more things I got. But for the rest, I enjoyed this game

nodli 2019-10-07 12:27

Amazing game ! You got so much done in such a short amount of time ! I liked the fact that there are so many different ways you can play, even at the first stage.

legendaryhippo 2019-10-07 12:38

This is an amazing start to a incremental game. Would love to see you expand on the idea.

evannex 2019-10-07 12:38

10/10 would play again. I would love to see this expanded into a post compo version! Truly a well done game!

odeyalko 2019-10-07 12:59

I liked the style of the game, at first I did not understand the principle of the game.

toasteater 2019-10-07 13:34

Feels quite fresh for the idle format, and with a nice mood as well! The audio certainly is great, too!

kekkodude 2019-10-07 13:34

Loved it! it's simple, yet it has depth, and a story! and the soundtrack was awesome, love the ending track, Great job, truly!

I saw just one small draw error on one of the letters, but sorry i cant remember which one i got lost in rebuilding the world haha

twinturbodouche 2019-10-07 13:49

Good idle game with a story! I REALLY like the transition from void to body. I'm still playing!

justinooncx 2019-10-07 13:58

That was certainly an interesting experience... Took me a while to figure out what was going on and what to do, but (un)luckily I found the doomsday clock early and started things off for the end game. It was kinda cool to build the whole 'world' up with my friends, too! I don't quite get what happened in the end since I apparently died; seems it's some struggle between a creator and destroyer? All in all, cool game, would sacrifice friends for more friends again!

nachtwitch 2019-10-07 14:43

The name and game were both cool, it's very hard to come up with a name in my opinion

ekaterina 2019-10-07 16:00

This is just great! The best clicker in my life. It would be very interesting to see the continuation)

gold5games 2019-10-07 20:55

A bit abstract at first, but it pulled me in over time, and before I knew it 15 minutes had gone by. Well done. Great use of the theme.

paul-nadan 2019-10-08 03:50

This was an awesome game, I really enjoyed the storyline! It was easy to miss what was happening in the story by being in the wrong screen though, it would be nice if there was some kind of prompt to switch over.

daniel-alhadeff 2019-10-08 04:24

DOOM IS NEAR

khaotom 2019-10-08 04:56

This is one of my new favorite clicker games. Each new stage was really surprising. Thanks for tuning it to be playable in just a few minutes!

rosypenguin 2019-10-08 05:41

What a phenomenal interpretation of the theme. I love clickers so I had a blast playing this. It felt like just the right length and had just the right amount of story, great work!

joseph-yannessa 2019-10-08 06:34

Meta to another level, this is a fantastic game and just continually exceeded my expectations. Would have liked a way to zoom in from "outside"...couldn't see the whole base

velvetlobster 2019-10-08 07:40

it was quite interesting then i got stuck on this part ... am i supposed to just wait? either way i found the idea to be quite promissing

Screenshot Capture - 2019-10-08 - 04-39-06.png

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-08 08:12

@velvetlobster yes, I have an issue with the prompts, maybe I'll do a quickfix version that makes the next menu appear at 100 things instead of at 150. (It lets you buy a friend at 1000 things)

squimmy 2019-10-08 14:42

This is really cool.

I particularly like the way the scale, complexity and depth advances as the game progresses, not just in terms of gameplay, but the visuals and music, too.

It's impressive how almost every facet of the game works in harmony to support the story the game is trying to tell.

There's not much to criticize here. If I were to make one complaint, it's that it wasn't clear how anti-things and anti-converters worked. But this minor issue didn't really impact my ability to enjoy the game.

Great job.

arzi 2019-10-08 15:33

Loved it! And it even worked on my iPhone!

2019-10-08 19:50

Top job. Well planned out and well executed.

cybikitty 2019-10-08 22:41

Great job! I love the use of anti-things to prevent just spamming clicking (somewhat aha) - love it!

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-09 07:36

@cybikitty how far did you get? :)

annie-owl 2019-10-09 15:58

Interesting game. The rules were a little bit confusing, I've played through the game and still didn't get how the things\anti-things mechanics work in The Void section. Also, the void section lacks the BGM, that the other ones have  But besides that, it was a fun experience - rebuilding your world from the scratch, "buying" new "friends" for things

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-09 16:10

@annie-owl thanks a lot for playing this on stream :)

el-fideo-rubio 2019-10-09 18:09

You cannot trick me I know a Hideo Kojima game when I see one, Hello Kojima :)

andrea 2019-10-09 18:09

[EDIT] Wonderful game, such a smart use of zoom, even though "the world" may have benefited from a slight zoom out up. I loved it through and through, and spent hours (ok, maybe just the one) trying to break it. 10 000 friends might seem like lot, but it all makes sense once the sacrifice starts :smirk:

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-09 18:16

@andrea thanks a lot for playing my game :) yours was very enjoyable as well!

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-09 18:18

[edit] woops, doublepost

hare-software 2019-10-09 20:03

This was so much fun! The graphics are simple, yet consistent and good. The buildup over several stages feels amazing. To be able to ditch the void and solely focus on the world is great and the addition of something even greater is really cool. Cool to think Gamemaker could handel that many instances at once as well. Well done to you!

P.S. Great soundtrack! Actually left the browser window open for a bit to enjoy the epic ending music.

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-09 20:07

@hare-software thanks for playing :) BTW if you liked the soundtrack, you can listen to more of my musical work here: https://soundcloud.com/adrien-dittrick

namnam 2019-10-09 21:20

This game requires a lot of patience :) Not the biggest fan of idle game and I still don't understand how to turn anti-thing in things (is that random ?) which was kinda frustrating but I manage to finish the game. I liked the audio and I always like minimalist graphics (got a bug by switching to full screen, background became gray). I Also liked how friends were managed and how it give us the feeling of not being alone anymore.

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-09 21:27

hey @namnam thanks for playing :) about the anti-things, they disappear when you mouse-hover them, which means the things can escape the screen to stay permanent

xarras 2019-10-09 21:30

Keeps getting better, bigger, faster, stronger, beyond anything I could have expected. This is a solid 10 and I won't say much else!

namnam 2019-10-09 21:37

@adrien-dittrick haha ok this information would have made the game so much easier! (and more interesting)

foursay 2019-10-10 04:39

It was really fun to play! the thing and anti-thing idea is really interesting, and it reminds me of some farming system in some game. Good work dude!

envy-softworks 2019-10-10 07:28

A very interesting take to an idle game. You made a lot of content and that is impressive. Some times it got unintuitive and a bit complicated but it was very solid especially for a compo entry. Good job

kuviman 2019-10-10 14:56

Affording friends takes a lot of work

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-10 14:56

@kuviman friends are expensive!

rubixnoob13 2019-10-11 02:39

Solid entry! Like a lot of the other comments above, I was a little confused at first, but when I figured it out, I ended up sitting here way longer than I anticipated! Great job!

milestone-games 2019-10-11 22:41

This game was thoroughly enjoyable, ended up spending a ton of time in the end :) Also enjoyed the black/white gfx (but I'm biased since my game is also retro) Awesome work!

alphish 2019-10-12 10:31

It was an entry so entertaining it made me check out the prequel. I love how well these two work together.

The game's definite strong points are variety and uniqueness of gameplay mechanics and sense of progression. The void and body are kinda generic, but when we enter the world is when real fun begins, watching the world being rebuilt with armies of friends. There's some beautiful chaos to it, yet still there's some pretty simple logic to it. Entering the last phase, while it didn't really add much to the gameplay, felt epic with all these worlds around. The sense of progression is reinforced with progressively rich soundtrack, which makes advancement all the more satisfying.

There are some minor complaints, like the purchase buttons covering the gameplay area; I would rather have them separate instead, I guess. Also, it wasn't clear how anti-things work at first - I only figured it out long after purchasing some anti-thing converters, wondering what these do (though when you know how to use these, anti-things are super-profitable).

Despite being an incremental game, it doesn't take much time, which I appreciate from the perspective of the Jam reviewing. Also, repeatedly halving the prices down to 0, which would break an ordinary incremental game, works here because it happens at the endgame stage, anyway.

Great entry overall, my favourite thus far.

adrien-dittrick 2019-10-12 17:50

@alphish thanks a lot for your kind review, it means the world to me :)

rhymar 2019-10-24 19:44

ok iam speechless, this was an experience that i will never forget thanks for that^^

johnnysix 2019-10-24 22:24

Wow, I thought I was unfinished whenever I hit a wall, but keep nooldling aroun! Amazing work tying it all together - was not excpecting the depth of gameplay for a compo game!

Congratulations and good luck. This was immense!

This was #75 of all the games I've been testing, and probably the longest I've played!

johnnysix 2019-10-24 22:29

I rated for music as there was still most of all the music except the ending which nicely ties all the themes together..

It reminded me of this - where it breaks down to different styles / levels of instrumentation.. !

ryjcio 2019-10-24 22:52

It's somehow fun, but I find it a little bit pointless... It's a metaphor for life, isn't it? ;)

elysiagriffin 2019-10-30 02:32
