LD45 — Start with nothing

Mad Mans Vengeance by Tommislav 2019-10-12T18:43:35Z

Looks like we both made games inspired by oldschool text adventure games (and we're both Swedish?)! I really wish I could play your game, but I'm on a Mac unfortunately. Was able to work out the broad strokes of the story by checking out the source though. Twisted indeed, great work!

The Legend of Sky Stones by Iluvatar 2019-10-06T23:51:48Z

On Mac so cannot play, but amazing graphics!

The Choice of Life: Middle Ages by Xakkar 2019-10-11T22:11:42Z

Super fun game! I kept restarting to explore different branches. Loved the humor. Only feedback is that some of the options felt like lose/lose, but I appreciate that you made the first few "levels" proceed, no matter what you picked. I struggled with this in my game as well (you can die in the first two minutes)

Thanks for Nothing by PhilStrahl 2019-10-06T23:48:43Z

That was fun! I liked the hand drawn graphics! Managed to get 2/3 easter eggs, too! :)

Homie The Homeless by KekkoDude 2019-10-12T18:36:06Z

I liked the aestethics of the game! Sadly couldn't play it myself as I'm on a mac, but was able to find a playthrough on YouTube.

Scope Creep by 2Demigods 2019-10-12T18:33:30Z

I really liked this game! Brings back old memories of Mega Man :)

Terminal by jaydubbyasee 2019-10-07T20:48:26Z

Fun game, but really hard!

There was something here by Adrien Dittrick 2019-10-11T22:41:22Z

This game was thoroughly enjoyable, ended up spending a ton of time in the end :) Also enjoyed the black/white gfx (but I'm biased since my game is also retro) Awesome work!

Slap the King by quin 2019-10-12T19:01:47Z

Super fun! Managed to get stuck inside a tree, but was able to reload. I like the large world!

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-11T22:04:47Z

Fantastic and very unique game. I really liked how it was so much based on reading (my game ended up being that as well). Great work!

MLHA by Zoya Volkova 2019-10-11T21:56:18Z

I also really liked the visual style of this game, great work!

Nothing is Everything by Yayiest 2019-10-12T18:51:49Z

Really great game, was fun to discover mechanisms over time

HONK by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2019-10-11T22:06:11Z

What an absolute slaughter fest! Reminded me of old Liero and Diablo games :)

Planet Z33 by LanaLux 2019-10-07T20:41:55Z

Great game!

Memoirs Found in a by Dane Tesla 2019-10-11T21:55:37Z

I also really liked the art style, a fresh take on first person IMHO. Ran out of time before completing it! As for minimalism, my game is even more minimalistic lol :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-07T00:24:05Z

Hey all, thanks for reviewing this game! You can check out a gif of the first minute of gameplay here: https://static.jam.vg/raw/09f/82/z/26af0.gif

Thanks for the feedback @iluvatar! Much appreciated!

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-11T22:42:35Z

@ryano Thank you so much! Getting the inputs correct took some time (guessing intent is hard), and this my first ever attempt at writing fiction so your feedback is much appreciated :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-11T23:27:46Z

@ciaranw Ouch, sorry about the bugs! I'll take a look! Glad you enjoyed the story, thanks so much for the review :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-12T18:31:13Z

Thank you @fictions and @redhermit! Really appreciate your feedback :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-12T19:35:09Z

@pkenney Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback! I definitely hear you about the input, both handling and abbreviations. (In the tavern, "go out" would have worked, but I recognize that it isn't clear).

If I try to make an actual game out of this (or at least use the engine for a new game), I'll make sure to address all of these issues

Again, thank you!

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-12T19:38:17Z

@chocolat-endive Thank you for the feedback! :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-12T20:48:59Z

@twinghosts Thank you! Request for abbreviations duly noted :) Did you manage to complete the game?

@fammy Thank you! Although I must ask if you meant for this comment to be for another game. This game doesn’t have audio or graphics :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-13T10:58:10Z

Thank you @dane-tesla, much appreciated! Great idea with ambience! I ran out of of time, will ensure to add next time :)

You remember nothing. by Milestone Games 2019-10-13T18:46:14Z

@yayiest Thanks for the detailed feedback, much appreciated! I definitely agree, that sounds like a good improvement!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Last Hope by Iluvatar 2020-04-20T10:31:09Z

This looks amazing! Any chance it could be made available for Mac or web?

Last Hope by Iluvatar 2020-04-20T11:57:34Z

@iluvatar Ah, good old AGS! :) I'll try installing it on my virtual PC then!

Your Inner Child (Keep It Alive!) by godsboss 2020-04-20T20:23:16Z

Fun twist on a classic genre! I like that there were several levels to choose from, and the text was spot on. If anything, an upgrade mechanism would have been a cool addition!

Rampage by PhilStrahl 2020-04-20T02:07:32Z

On a mac so can't play it unfortunately. Great graphics though! And the music I'm imagining this game has sounds great as well!

Quite Contrary by chelC 2020-04-20T22:31:53Z

Re-posting my comment on your blog post: This a game I didn’t know I needed. The ambience, music and playful exploration is so delightful. Thank you and the team for making it! I actually enjoyed trying to figure out what I could and could not do!

Firelighter by WoooWooo 2020-04-20T20:15:54Z

Fun twist to the theme! Haven't played Pico-8 games before so it took some time to understand the controls :)

Leap Of Faith by ryan123rudder 2020-04-22T09:40:09Z

I really liked the goofiness of this game, the level of detail in the houses and the skill level! Some shots were super hard and the timed life progress bar made it fun to try to survive. Great work!

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-04-20T20:35:42Z

This game deserves more ratings! I really liked the mood and music. Very nice touch with the animations as well! My only suggestion would be to consider rewarding the player even further for venturing far away from the fire :) Great work!

Lost by Btdyaya 2020-04-20T19:47:54Z

Cool game! It was fun running around chopping down stuff on the island. I wasn't able to figure out how to get food (pushing boars?) so I always ran out of it and had to restart. :)

Tobias mustn't die by psydack 2020-04-20T20:38:30Z

Fun and crazy hard! I had initial issues with keypresses not being detected, but it worked after a while. It would have been cool to see "Tobias" move on to more traps!

Save GANIMEDE by Crochar 2020-04-21T18:08:05Z

The graphics look great! Makes me with I had a PC so I could try it!

Flower Defense by Tyrael 2020-04-20T22:30:08Z

I really liked this game! The pixel art, the animations & effects and upgrades. the intro sequence with photos was a lovely touch! That guy really likes his plan :D Finally, the game title is a PUN(!) and who doesn't like puns?! It would be even cooler if the time of day changed as the game progressed.

Feed Your Starter!!! by Papabirb 2020-04-20T20:11:16Z

Super fun and simple game! :) I like how you designed it for mobile first!

souvenirs by SoarenDev 2020-04-20T20:42:09Z

Interesting concept! I liked the background music :)

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-20T12:54:58Z

THANK YOU ALL for all the lovely feedback! It means a lot!

Sorry for the game breaking storage bug, I'll fix it as soon as possible! :grimacing:

I took on too much scope and wasn't able to implement many of the [core gameplay elements](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BM-c2FeNGfj14TAdPRFJLr-lPJPiUHE5Dco57_Yk3uM/edit?usp=sharing) I had planned for this game such as budget, customer satisfaction, upgrades (new products & production efficiencies) as well as marketing!

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-20T15:48:29Z

@cptdustmite @zondarg @iluvatar The bug with products in storage not leaving production has (hopefully) been fixed now! Please give it a try if you want :)

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-20T22:35:35Z

@zondarg Thanks for verifying :pray:

@lone-wolf Thanks for playing! Unfortunately there is currently no end state, the orders just get more complicated over time. What do you think the end state should be?

@malai Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, that's definitely one thing I wish I changed before the deadline :smirk: Perhaps products expire after some time, or the queue is limited somehow.

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T06:59:30Z

@papabirb Thanks so much for the thorough review, I really appreciate that you took the time! Great point about navigation, it's not intuitive. I'll update the description with instructions! I completely agree that some SFX would have added to the ambience. I had 3-4 sound effects I really wanted to add, but wasn't able to get it done in time for the deadline

Like you, I'm a also a huge fan of building up to automation, there's something really fun about improving efficiencies to a point where suddenly you have more supply than demand, only for it to change again as new bottlenecks appear... and the process repeats all over again

Yes, I feel inspired to continue working on this game, especially after getting reviews like yours. Thank you!

@darkfire92 Thank you, that's great feedback. :raised_hands:

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T10:59:15Z

@circuitbree WHAT, you played for half an hour?!? That's amazing! Great idea, thanks for the feedback!

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T14:15:04Z

@tyrael Thank you for playing! Definitely agree on your feedback! :)

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T15:12:47Z

@ironygames Hey that's a great idea! Will definitely consider combinations :) Thanks for the review!

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T17:51:06Z

@lone-wolf Excellent idea! World domination

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T21:16:03Z

@mykola Thank you for the kind feedback, much appreciated!

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-22T09:38:34Z

Thanks for the feedback @ryan123rudder, that's a great point - this cost/revenue & supply/demand dynamic is something I would like to explore as I keep developing the game.

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-22T11:43:21Z

@ryan123rudder Yes, that's the plan! I've already started working on the features [I had planned in my game design doc](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BM-c2FeNGfj14TAdPRFJLr-lPJPiUHE5Dco57_Yk3uM/edit?usp=sharing) but wasn't able to complete in time, but I'm not releasing the updates publicly until LD46 is over :) To be honest I haven't thought about how to communicate updates. Perhaps follow me here on LD and I'll make a blog post once 2.0 is released! (Would love some play testing help as well) :)

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-22T14:58:27Z

@cybernetic Thank you for the kind words! :raised_hands:

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-23T05:46:52Z

@mateusboga Thank you so much for the playthrough and review! I added your playthrough to the top of the page so others can check it out!

@brndncn Thanks for the kind words, I'm developing this further, so thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree having some type of break dynamic would improve it( e.g opening hours or something). It would give the player time to focus on strategy, like research.

Man Need Fire by ABRDs 2020-04-21T18:34:44Z

What an amazing little game! The gfx, sfx and bgm (were the sequences randomized?) were all on point! You did a great job communicating detail in such a pixel constrained environment! Like miltage I got stuck on that same level, but my experience up to that point was great! I also appreciate the fact that you designed the first tutorial levels to teach the player the mechanics of the game. Overall, a great game! :raised_hands:

Coffeetalism by Neisha 2020-04-20T23:05:36Z

Yay, another coffeehouse game! Looks like we interpreted the theme in similar ways, but you got a lot further! I’ll give this a try tomorrow! :open_hands:

Deadly Afterquest by Cybernetic 2020-04-22T11:48:10Z

I really liked the graphics and music! I think this is a super strong first (?) entry, especially since you had to learn new things from scratch this week.

Keep Ye Alive by JoskerDu 2020-04-20T20:29:57Z

As many others I dove into the game without reading everything and struggled a bit with the controls initially. Very cool concept though. I really like the mood, great touch with the guitar.

Please! Keep me alive by Guntainment 2020-04-21T18:05:30Z

I really liked the perspective and the hand drawn icons, but I had a hard time figuring out what to do. A tutorial would have been amazing.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Rim of Zitra by Listonos 2020-10-06T22:04:45Z

I really liked this game. The story is interesting and the voice acting makes it very engaging. Great job!

LoopyDraw by sanojian 2020-10-06T21:58:38Z

Cool to see a multiplayer game, looks quite active still as well!

Rest In Peace by Somnium 2020-10-06T21:57:59Z

Fun game, it was nice to be able to run around and explore the place. I like your take on the theme as well. Good job!

Angriff by Literally Void 2020-10-05T00:51:17Z

I really liked this game, especially the fact that it kept updating. My only suggestion would be to make it a bit more clear how you can avoid taking damage, or perhaps drop some health packs. Great work !

Eleven by DeathStorm 2020-10-05T21:23:06Z

What an amazing game! Trying the same thing a few times before getting the "aha-this-is-how-it-works" epiphany was super rewarding. Well done both!

Hyperloop hell by Aterlamia 2020-10-05T22:05:23Z

What an interesting take on the theme and genre. Haven't been this stressed out from an adventure game before, well done on communicating that sense of risk. Like @blobo I ran into the alien character. I'm on a 64-bit Mac playing the WebGL version in Chrome, if that helps.

Great work!

a Damsel a Day by alec 2020-10-05T22:28:46Z

What a fantastic art style! I'm impressed by how much detail you managed to communicate in the limited resolution, something I've been struggling with in my own game.

All in all, fun, great idea!

Roundabout Way by Quandtm 2020-10-07T18:34:59Z

This is a really great game! Fun and a real challenge. After several failed attempts I managed to beat it in roughly a minute. It's already so polished, you should develop a few more levels (with roadblocks or something else) and release it! :rocket:

Hang on, Bill! by zanzavar 2020-10-07T13:14:03Z

What an amazing game! I especially like your pixel art style!

Under The Moon by Albuquerque 2020-10-06T21:34:41Z

Amazing artwork, I really liked the style. I liked how the moon got progressively more scary! If you were to develop it further I'd suggest adding some more interactive elements, perhaps traps? Great work!

Suburban Bus MAYHEM by joonamo 2020-10-05T21:18:25Z

I really liked how chaotic this game was, and the comments from the passengers were really fun!. Great work!

Habits by M8rix 2020-10-05T21:25:03Z

This game looks super interesting, I really like the graphics style! I'm not able to try it out yet since I only have a Mac. Will try to boot up windows and try later though.

Magical Marissas Troubles with Time by TheseusInABottle 2020-10-06T21:37:14Z

What a fun soundtrack and different gameplay. Like the other reviewers, I think the style was and lent itself well to this type of game.

Kosmosrunda by patetfisk 2020-10-05T19:13:13Z

Fun and very different game!

10 Stories by MarcBurner 2020-10-05T00:55:41Z

Interesting take on the theme! I thought it was fun to try to discover ways to break the loop!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-05T11:59:01Z

@rex64 Thank you so much, your feedback means a lot!

@hydrasil Thank you for the kind words! If the game concept shows enough promise, I would love to continue working on it :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:07:57Z

@hydrasil Thanks for the great feedback, definitely agree that that would get tedious after a while :) My original concetpt actually had the player go *back* in time after a while, but sadly I ran out of time.

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:03Z

@lanalux Thanks for playing this on the stream Lana! Few things are as fun (or scary) as seeing someone else play your game. Live nonetheless! I really appreciate the kind words! Heading over to play Spaced Out now :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:09Z

@patetfisk That's great feedback, thanks! If I continue working on this game I'll definitely keep this in mind!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:14Z

@schraf Thank you for the kind feedback! Hope the amount of re-used sprites weren't too obvious :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:20Z

@nethead It makes me really happy that you appreciated the atmosphere! I planned out the plot before writing a single line of code, but didn't actually implement any of it until the last few hours, which is painfully obvious when looking at the amount of typos :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:23Z

@elbapotsnugg Thanks for the nice feedback! This is my second pixel art LD game, and I managed to double the amount of resolution for the character sprites, adding more detail :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:28Z

@magnusfurcifer Thank you for the detailed feedback comment! Appreciate the kind words on the story. Definitely agree that the time loop could get annoying after a while, originally I planned to make the loop a bit more random rather than return to the same point every time.

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:31Z

@toasterwerewolf Appreciate the comment, happy you found it fun :) Yeah, I'm also not a huge fan of games where the player realizes something, but the game character that represent them doesn't understand the same fact, it kinda breaks the illusion. Something to improve for future versions!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:34Z

@kunonooni Very happy to hear this gave a dose of nostalgia! :) I hope to be able to continue the story some day. What was covered in this first chapter is only the beginning...

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:40Z

@week-of-the-agents Thank you for the kind feedback! I hope to continue the story as well!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:44Z

@koemeterion Yes, definitely agree that it was very short. I was contenplating to add another loop but did not have any good reason to, and it would only have made the game feel artificially longer. Appareicate the kind words!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:47Z

@endurion Thank you! I'm very happy that you like it, and actually a bit surprised you are the first review to mention the lack of sound. This was something I was kicking myself over as I had a lot of ideas about how it could contribute to the atmosphere, but sadly I ran out of time. Next time!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:50Z

@thecakeconsortium Much appreciated, thanks for the feedback! Yes, I'd like to develop the story further!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:08:54Z

@yngvarr Thank you for the detailed feedback! :) Yes, the "can't go left" was definitely a bit of a workaround to solve for the lack of rooms. I definitely hear you about the control scheme. Interact was E early on, but I switched it out last minute. In the last hour, I tried using Enter for both Actions and Continuing Text Boxes, but it ended creating an endless loop (!!) of actions and text boxes, so I had to abandon that idea. Very glad you liked the game regardless :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T21:09:47Z

@preda Happy to hear you liked it! I tried adding interaction comments for as many objects as possible :) Thanks for the comment

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-07T07:57:22Z

@listonos Thank you for the kind words! I am a fan of the adventure game genre as well, hoping to give the genre another try when the theme allows for it! :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-07T07:59:21Z

@vlad-mgc Thank you for the playthrough, that was super fun to watch! Thanks for your feedback!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-07T13:04:43Z

@zimny11 Thanks for your feedback! Yeah, that's a great suggestion. Interact was E early on, but I switched it out last minute. I should've experimented with interaction a bit more :)

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-07T13:07:10Z

@bereg Thank you for the kind words! Definitely agree that it's a bit short & straightforward. :) I initially outlined a much larger plot, but in the end I only managed to implement a fraction of it. Hopefully I can expand on it in the future. Appreciate the feedback!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-07T15:50:31Z

Looped by zimny11 2020-10-06T22:01:47Z

Unique take and fun even in this basic form, great job for such a short sprint!

Paper Planes by SamDemaine 2020-10-05T22:11:26Z

I'm really impressed by how you were able to take such a simple concept, limited resolution and color palette, and made a game that feels so rich. I really agree with @squimmy's comment on depth.

Also, that explosion animation is really great!

Eloi's Adventure by Convg 2020-10-07T17:54:47Z

This was a fun game to play! I liked the shadow mechanic, great work!

Looping Condor 3000 by Quinn_Patrick 2020-10-05T18:54:01Z

What a fun and tough game! I really liked how the game got progressively harder over time. The background music was on point and looped really well! Great job

Extended Loop Green by Voidsay 2020-10-05T19:11:52Z

The was very relaxing to play! I also managed to jump out of the train and started walking around the tunnel. Great start and I hope you continue!

Danger Beat by rhoff95 2020-10-05T22:28:18Z

This was so fun to play! Desperately trying to avoid getting hit while activating more layers of the song was so challenging! I only got to the "hey" part and then I started losing bad. Great work!

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-06T21:23:04Z

I liked this different take on this genre, and who can say no to a tower defence game? I really liked it, just wish it was longer! Great job!

Hudson by Dharby 2020-10-05T21:47:14Z

This game looks really interesting, huge fan of the 1-bit style. Sadly it doesn't seem to work on my Mac, I'm getting this popup: Screen Shot 2020-10-05 at 23.45.41.png

I will have access to Windows later this week so will definitely try it then!

In The Loop by Luc-creationallabs 2020-10-05T21:54:10Z

This was super fun to play, and so tricky to figure out exactly when to hit space! I really like your concept can scale further and further as levels get progressively harder. Great work!

Looped Fellas by BukkakeTears 2020-10-06T21:14:05Z

This game was hard at first, but after a few rounds I got the hang of it. Really liked the weird art style! Great job!

SORO BORO by nethead 2020-10-05T21:43:31Z

What an amazing game. The level of polish was clear from the get go - I was especially impressed how you managed to communicate so much detail with such a low resolution and limited color palette, something I struggled a bit with my own game for this LD. The particle/smoke effect animation from the rockets were just right.

The soundtrack looped well and the sfx fit in really well, all without becoming repetitive.

I think you also nailed the difficulty level. After dying five times in a row on the first level it finally clicked, and I was able to progress further. The only suggestion I might add is allowing the rockets to also be able to loop around just like the character.

All in all a solid entry!

Collateral Damage by Michael Parrish 2020-10-05T19:08:22Z

Great execution! This game is very easy to try, but incredibly hard to master. I really liked the sound effects.

The Climb by BigLob420 2020-10-05T22:37:36Z

Having watched this absolute unit of a game being built for the last two+ days I can't say anything other than that it's an absolute masterpiece. The artwork is amazing and could be the perfect wallpaper - I wish I applied the same polish to my LD game's backgrounds this time around.

Verdict: People should play this day and night, whenever they are able to. Pro tip: Put a coffee cup on the A key when you need to leave your desk (but you would be a cheater)

10/10 would play in the shower.

Push Stack by stevenjmiller 2021-04-28T16:03:12Z

Very innovative take on the theme! This is definitely the type of game that gets stuck on your brain :) Great work!

improbability engine by Aurel300 2021-04-27T10:59:14Z

Catching this game from Kylazaur's stream. The graphics are really intense, I'm impressed by how you combined pixel graphics, 3D, and on-screen puzzles. Great job!

Dwarven Surveyor by Jimbly 2021-04-26T19:40:27Z

I really liked the mood of this game. The way random music notes played and particle effects while digging was such a nice touch. I got to level 4 and 60-ish gems before using up all my tools. The fact that there's a highscore list makes me want to try again! Great job!

Press Space To Jump The Gap by foolmoron 2021-04-28T15:54:02Z

This was a blast to play! It was really fun to try to figure out how to break the game in different ways. I didn't manage to complete it, but I definitely think you should keep developing this!

Deep in hell by katamary 2021-04-26T22:49:17Z

The art is stunning! What an interesting concept and story! This would make a great mobile game as well1

Mandahlia by MicroChasm 2021-04-28T16:34:01Z

What a delightful game! I really like how peaceful it was, and the music was a great fit as well. Would definitely like to play more levels!

Leaky Faucet by Astavie 2021-04-26T23:34:10Z

As an old web dev it was a fun to try to find ways to access content. Innovative interpretation of the theme!

This was a nice entry! I liked the acceleration factor and sound effects!

Category Purgatory by Hedgy 2021-05-02T18:43:28Z

Nice game! It helped me practice US states, while listening to a nice electronic loop :) Good job!

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-26T20:05:08Z

Really really nice! Looks super polished. Took me a while to understand what each tile did (eg monster), but that just made it more rewarding to explore. Great job, and I hope you release this, seems to me like the perfect mobile game :)

The Icarus by PowerAnze 2021-04-28T16:27:46Z

Extremely well done. I especially appreciate the lore pages that keep popping in. Having delayed visual feedback also meant that I was way more careful than I typically am in games (even though hitting a wall didn't seem to damage the hull) so great way simulating "reality" in that way. I hope you continue building on this!

Deeper in the Void by LadyMistLeaf 2021-05-02T18:34:42Z

Nice entry, the voice acting was an unexpected nice detail! Mysterious cliffhanger there at the end as well :)

Bus Crawl by Valid 2021-04-26T20:28:53Z

This was really fun, especially trying to learn how to plan the routes to be as cheap as possible while providing most value. It'd be cool to see you develop this further.

The Long Walk by SquareBoxCompany 2021-04-26T19:42:53Z

This game looks really cool (and the art style is matching my own LD48 game), if you don't mind me asking, what was your canvas size for each room? I really wish I had access to a Windows machine so I could try it! Any chance you would consider publishing for the web if your engine supports it?

T-Minus by michaelaranda 2021-04-27T22:51:27Z

What an amazing game! Like others wrote, the graphics and smooth controls were my favorite parts! Hope you continue developing this!

Just Dig by TwoWolf 2021-04-28T16:00:29Z

Fun game! The background music was great and I liked the pixel art! I struggled a bit to dig properly sometimes, eg only moving X and not X + Y at the same time. Great submission!

@andidebob Hey, thanks for the the review and suggestion, that's definitely something I'd like to include if I continue working on this. Act II and III are already planned out, I just ran out of time and wasn't able to implement them :) I'll go check out Descendants now!

The Bothnia Trench by Milestone Games 2021-04-27T14:07:17Z

@gendgi Thank you for the kind words! The music was made in the last hour, I'm happy I was able to get it done on time

@mab-cat Thank you, I agree - there should be more point & click games! Too bad you got stuck. My only hit would be to talk with each person and ask what they need to be ready to descend.

The Bothnia Trench by Milestone Games 2021-04-28T21:11:19Z

@2bitcrook Thank you so much! I had more content planned but managed to re-scope the work halfway through, otherwise I probably wouldn't have finished :)

@commanderstitch Thank you Mr.Stitch 🙏 Yeah the vial was definitely something I should've thought over a bit more, looking back I should've given the Chief Researcher a bit more lines hinting about potential substitutes :) Thanks again for the kind words!

@ezgoodnight Thank you, that makes me super happy to hear as indeed the Adventure games of the 90s were the inspiration :)

@shadowdev Thanks for the nice feedback, I hope to be able to revisit this game in the future :)

@dxk2294 Much appreciated, and I agree! I wish there was a whole week of Ludum Dare jamming so I could finish act 2 and 3 :) Thanks for the kind words!

@darkshadow Thanks for taking the time to write such a length review! Your feedback is spot on, these issues are things I would've wanted to fix, but sadly I ran out of time. Next time though! And yes - gotta have a Rubber Chicken with Pulley In the Middle, never know when you need it! :D

@freamdev Yeah, sadly only act 1 was implemented, I ran out of time - but both act 2 and 3 are fully mapped out so if there's a lot of interest I might finish them between now and the next LD jam :)

@todward Thank you and I agree! I have an idea of the end-to-end plot and overall hurdles the player would have to overcome. Makes me super happy to hear you're reminded of the old great Lucas Arts games :) Yes, I really wanted to implement responses to every single object, but unfortunately I ran out of time. In my next adventure game I won't miss a single item though! :)

@steelax Thanks, that's really nice to hear :) Yeah next time around I'll keep the item hunting less random :)

@john Hah, yeah that vial replacement was a bit harder to find than it should've been. Thanks for the great feedback :)

@fractal-flower-girl Thank you, that's great to hear!

@valeth2124 Much appreciated! I totally agree that the game would have benefited from some more reactions for when things don't work. I built a system that allows for those type of overrides, I just wasn't able to get it done :)

@joror Thanks for the kind feedback! And you are spot on about the "exit" issue. In my placeholder graphics I had a diagonal orange/black line that could've hinted at the exit, but I wasn't able to redraw it in the final background graphics. Haha, I great MI reference :D

@sebbernery Thx! I wish I had been been able to complete more of the content I had planned. Yes, the camera position was something I really wanted to fix (I think it would have just been 5 lines of code or something) but sadly I ran out of time.

@mad Thanks for the epic feedback and encouragement, that's amazing to hear! :)

@dergamer Thank you! If it happens I'll certainly post about it here :)

@jake-marks Thanks for the kind feedback, and thanks for capturing the vod!

@microchasm Thanks! I really agree about sound effects! I had a few recorded but ran out of time.

@thatmanrobin Thanks for the kind feedback, and I'll certainly revisit the font for the future!

@leorid Haha, thank you - yeah, I forgot to add tricky timing puzzles. :)

@halogen Thank you! :)

@yngvarr Thanks for playing! Haha, and great job catching the references :)

@wizard-sino Thanks! Hopefully one day...

@fpeg Heh, great to hear the Swedish nuances were appreciated. Thanks!

@razorwolf I'm just gonna hit back with aw, thanks! :)

@justinmullin Thanks for the detailed review. I originally planned to make all objects also have an interaction, but sadly ran out of time. Appreciate the kind words!

@bajtix Yes, I ideally wanted to animate the characters a bit more, especially a talking animation for the "avatar". Thanks for playing and reviewing!

@666savior Thanks, yeah it wasn't the most intuitive puzzle :) I might revisit the story one day! Thanks!

@g12345 Thanks for the very nice feedback!

@thomasward Thank you! Hope to be able to return to part 2 one day.

@frank-gevaerts Thanks fgeva! :) Yeah I was able to fix a last minute typo on the intro screen with a few minutes to spare. Appreciate the kind feedback!

@deathstorm Thank you so much, I promise you that if LD49 comes around and I haven't made any progress I'll whisper the story of Act 2 & 3 on Discord ;)

@west Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! I definitely agree that it could be more clear what objects were interactive. And yes, those types of interactive puzzles are interesting. I had planned for a few of them for Act 2, but unfortunately ran out of time. Thanks for playing!

@rocktavious Thanks a lot for the very detailed review! All your suggestions are spot on, being relatively new to Unity I struggled a bit with with some of the user interface elements. Definitely agree that sound and visual effects would make the game more user friendly. And yes, the rooms without a door was a bit of a mishap. I originally planned some type of marking in the floor to signify an exit, but ended up not coming up with a good way to solve for that. My next adventure game will definitely have a walking character. :) Again, thanks for playing!

@ladymistleaf Thanks so much for the kind feedback! :)

@birdwards Great, thank you for playing it!

@laurari Thanks so much, that's really great to hear! I hope to revisit part 2 in a not too distant future :)

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-04-26T23:49:09Z

Fascinating interpretation of the theme. It was really fun trying to figure out what you could and couldn't say. I wasn't able to come up with what else to write in this comment so I just ran everyone else's comments through a summary tool. Here you go: `Good poetry execution and a great superb at humor. I had a really best time playing It.`

Third Dimension by JuliusCube Arcade 2021-04-26T19:53:23Z

I'm glad I was able to get this game to play because WOW! I really like how the game got progressively more complex over time, and the background music was catchy enough to lodge itself deep in my brain (thanks!). I really hope you develop this into a full game!

TrollDoom by Milestone Games 2024-04-18T12:44:42Z

@svenerik Thanks! We're really happy the theme resonated with you!

@malte Thank you for the nice feedback! "Running for my life and dragging for my life" could be a great tagline :D

@westeaststudio Thanks! The casting mechanic took a lot of tweaking to get right (with room for further improvement, especially on web). :)

@dekisenpaitm Haha, that's exactly the reaction we were hoping for :) Thank you for playing and the kind feedback!

@catnap Thank you! We really appreciate hearing that! We look to improve it futher in future versions.

@letssnack Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it! We introduced a last minute setting to tweak mouse sensitivity but we've updated this page to make it more clear. We hear you on being able to undo moves, definitely a consideration for future versions...

@kingstone426 Thanks for the kind feedback!

@manabreak Thank you! Slowing down while casting went through a few iterations, glad you appreciated it!

@jbisnee Thanks for the kind words! We also like running-from-the-swarm thing :D

@hvox We really appreciate the feedback! We had 3x the spells planned but we weren't able to add them all in time for the deadline. Consideration for the future...

@ian Thanks! The fire breath spell is one of our favorites as well, especially when combined with narrow choke points... :)

@fredrik Thanks for the kind words! :)

@jejkobb Thank you, we definitely appreciate the constructive feedback. The mouse casting beavior and and user effort balancing casting and running has been a recurring pain point we would want to revisit in future iterations. Your suggestions are spot on and something we've discussed.

@incd021 Thank you, and we appreciate the feedback on the Linux version. We'll take a look but great to hear the web version worked as a fallback

@tudvari Thanks for the kind words and sharing your stats, surviving for 10 minutes is great progress, and you're right about the number of spells. Good feedback around the ergonomic nature of casting, definitely something we're taking into account for future versions!

@jiri Thank you! We completely agree regarding the feedback you shared about casting, and we're taking that into account for future iterations... And "The forest always gets me" is a great quote :)

@kirsybuu Thank you! We appreciate you sharing the feedback on the mouse casting and lag, definitely something we'd want to address in future iterations.

@konstantinreed Thanks, and great achievement! Winning in less than 5 minutes is quite the feat! We definitely agree with your feedback, will take it into account for the future.

ONE MILLION MICROSCOPIC KITTENS by Milestone Games 2024-10-11T19:38:52Z

@tuism Thanks for the detailed feedback, very much appreciated! - The Doombas need more tweaking for sure, and would probably benefit from additional interaction mechanics that rewards skills like careful planning or quick reactions. - Agree re: the scanner as well - originally it had an energy meter that was only being spent while active, but it got too tedious to recharge it _and_ the spray so we decided quite late in the process to make it not require energy but we did not revisit how/when it was activated.

Pretty fun, despite being quite simple. I agree with another commenter who compared it to pong!

Pogo Dwarf by NTMalichi 2025-04-09T23:22:13Z

Ughh, very fun but very tricky. Good one!

Hireblades by quasilyte 2025-04-09T23:27:10Z

I really liked this one! Was interesting trying to outflank enemies. As I mentioned in my blog post comment the Warhammer soundtrack fits really well :)

BURIED by meylish 2025-04-11T21:23:05Z

Great atmosphere and mood! Got very stressful trying to avoid falling rocks after some time. Got about 2 mins down before getting crushed by a boulder though! Funnily, our game also has falling rocks, but quite a different mechanic.

Devour by ScoobySnacks 2025-04-11T21:31:15Z

I enjoyed this one! Like others mentioned, playing as the villain was a nice twist. I found I could go out of bounds and avoid all the spikes by just moving the tongue all the way to the right, offscreen. Fun game!

Ad Light by jtap 2025-04-11T21:27:21Z

Like others, I also really liked the art style! The player turning into bones when dying was a fun touch! Nice difficulty ramp-up as well

Down The Rabbit Hole by Doppler Affect 2025-04-09T23:11:33Z

Nice mood and great writing!

To The Core by izzqz 2025-04-11T21:16:27Z

Fun and mega frustrating! Took a lot of tries to get anywhere. Really well executed, can see this being quite successful on mobile!

WIN WIN WIN by terryg 2025-10-23T01:27:58Z

Good work on this one! I think perhaps the shop items could be a bit cheaper to preserve momentum, but nice job nevertheless!

Mechmories by Shess 2025-10-24T16:50:21Z

Wow, this game needs a lot more recognition. Love the atmosphere and the art! Well done! Minor bug: For some reason music and sfx were at 0% when I started, but they came back after I turned them up. Edit: Oh wait, I must have accidentally clicked "play without sound"

Recollections by benskca 2025-10-23T01:17:49Z

What a nice game! Great to hear some voice over narrative as well!

AstroHaul by Milestone Games 2025-10-20T13:20:37Z

@sevansevan Thanks for the feedback! I'll release a new version in the next few days (4 days left of "Extra" Jam Category) that will make mid-late game less stale

AstroHaul by Milestone Games 2025-10-23T01:04:17Z

@sevansevan @7uc4s @praccen @kahztein @sangheli @fivecyclops @weirdbitgames Thanks for playing and leaving comments! Since the EXTRA jam is not yet over I've made a first patch that hopefully addresses some of the concerns above. Please check out the changelog.

Wow, thanks @treenut @tetrapteryx @eaglez @pixel-greg @snowdrama @yibirabbit007 for sharing your experiences and score! I'll see if I can make a few final tweaks before the deadline to adress your feedback: Shield, Mouse, RNG etc. Thanks!

AstroHaul by Milestone Games 2025-10-24T17:35:59Z

@frank-gevaerts Thank you so much for the kind words! @xsangyhix thank you as well! compared to the rest of you I had all of 3 weeks to develop and playtest this game :) I can recommend trying the EXTRA Game Jam category next time for a less stressful experience.

White Noise Protocol by Picster 2025-10-23T01:21:48Z

I'm baffled how on earth can this game have so few reviews! Really solid work on this one @picster!

10/10 mood and gameplay, hope you turn it into a full game!

A bit off topic, but this game really reminds me of the scripted horror podcast The White Vault. If you're into scripted podcasts I'd definitely recommend it!

Table Lord by noagard 2025-10-23T01:16:18Z

Nice game, really nailed the oldschool strategy game style. It took some time to understand how resource draining works, but the game kept me engaged.

Show Me Your ITA! ( by hanarioi 2025-10-23T01:29:35Z

Very nice entry. I hope you continue to develop it!

Mountain food collector by Doughseller 2025-10-23T01:24:14Z

Nice one! I'd recommend uploading screenshots on the game page, I think more people are likely to try it out that way
