LD42 — Running out of space

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-15T05:49:13Z

@sam-estep thanks a lot for your feebdack! The central pit was supposed to be a trap for those who don't want to take roundabout routs but want to get to the other side in just one turn. High risk - high reward thing. But yeah, maybe even then the game could probably be a bit more forgiving.

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-15T05:54:37Z

@ezra-lafleur thank you for playing and sharing your experience!

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-16T17:11:31Z

@paulo-augusto thanks man!

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-16T17:16:00Z

@gurkenlabs thanks a lot for playing and sharing your thoughts! Yeah, maybe something like a wall-jump would make a good addition to the game. From the feedback so far I can see that we really need to make the central pit trap more forgiving.

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-16T17:28:18Z

@aguahervida thank you so much for the extensive feedback! I'm really glad to hear that the game feels complete, even though there are still tones of improvements to be made. We did have the ideas of picking up and changing weapons and the random map generation but unfortunately didn't manage to get to them within the time limit. Thanks a lot for your kind words and healthy critics!

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-19T19:37:24Z

@marko thanks for the feedback! Since the two eyes had different weapons we had to make them look different. So the one with the canon-like weapon received a gun but lost its pupil, while the one with the laser-like weapon ended up shooting from the pupil but wasn't given a gun. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to add another character / weapon / appearance in time.

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-21T16:08:07Z

@cedric-fey @jern @bentekiller thanks a lot for playing and for your feedback guys! Really appreciate your thoughts and ideas about the game. There is definitely a huge space for improvement, so thanks for pointing out some particular directions for it.

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-21T16:09:09Z

@pnghasemi it was indeed! Just shoot your opponent during your turn and try not to die from acid.

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-23T16:41:52Z

@thsnr thanks a lot for your feedback and suggestions! And many thanks for mentioning the music, I did put my soul in it

Eye to Eye by Rydough 2018-08-24T18:35:42Z

@koala-squad thank you for playing and for sharing your opinion! I'm really glad that you liked it. Yeah, I guess some simple AI would make the game a bit more interesting. Thanks for mentioning the lifelessness of the SFX, that's actually something I need to think about.

GoIn- Behave or GET LOST! by gurkenlabs 2018-08-20T10:27:28Z

Great hilarious entry! I like the art a lot, and the overall idea is quite fun. But as it was pointed out, it gets a bit monotonic. A couple of features like different events or using the money to upgrade the club would be awesome. Other than that, you did a very good job for the short time provided!

Short Fuse Saloon by souperstrawer 2018-08-15T18:28:38Z

Lots of fun! The atmosphere is amazing. I really liked the guy playing piano in the corner. The fighting fellas are hilarious!

Seasaw by mikkpr 2018-08-24T18:59:15Z

Amazing game! The gameplay is great, it's polished and diverse enough. The graphics is top points, one of the best I've seen so far here. Together with really fitting music and sound effects they create a really natural immersive atmosphere. The soundtrack is great, I really like how the pace changes with the angle of the ship. One thing that might also be related to the ship's angle is the speed of the passing objects. They could go faster or slower in tact with the music to stress the connectivity of game elements even more and to diversify the gameplay a little bit. But overall, the game is one of the best I've played so far and deserves the highest points. Well done guys!

Crucifix and Tentacle by Cedric Fey 2018-08-22T16:34:53Z

Interesting idea, amazing graphics. The soundtrack could've been a bit more interesting to add to the dark mood of the game. Something in the style of Diablo would really work here. The scream after you die is just awesome. It's a pity I couldn't survive to see the final boss, I imagine it would be really beautiful. Good job, guys!

Trash Smash 2072 by 2games2easy 2018-08-15T05:37:03Z

The idea is so simple, but the game looks very nice and is really fun to play. I can already imagine all the cool stuff that could be built on top of that simple game mechanic. Can't wait to see how you're gonna develop it further. And yeah, nailed the theme pretty well!

Pirate's Greed by bbaf 2018-08-18T19:53:52Z

I really like the pirate-ish mood of the game. The graphics is great, the music is nice, the parrot's remarks are awesome, and what's important is that it all fits together really well! Talking about flaws, the walking animation is lagging, the ship's movements don't transit to the pirate and the parrot and I would probably expect a little bit more from the gameplay, maybe at least the ability to jump over the chests. The idea with the overload is really nice though. In any case, the game is complete and has a greate atmosphere. You've done a great job, guys!

Point & Sin by Simanis 2018-08-15T17:17:35Z

The graphics is really amazing and the mood is perfect. Got that nostalgic feeling of playing Diablo back in the days. And yes, the story is touching. Very well done!

Floor killer by Bentekiller 2018-08-23T04:57:09Z

Not too entertaining I would say. But at least I've ascended eventually

Plant's Conquest by Sam Estep 2018-08-20T08:37:07Z

As it was already pointed out, the gameplay is a little bit confusing. I was stuck on the second scene for a while and could figure it out only by random clicking, dragging and dropping  But other than that, I really liked the story, the mood and the atmosphere. The art is amazing. The music is really awesome! The tune is beautiful and fits the game very well. I really like how it smoothly evolves and transitions from scene to scene or how it changes when you're running out of time. I tried doing something similar in our game, so I imagine how challenging it is.

Overall, very well done, guys!

The Junk's Games by Paulo Augusto 2018-08-20T10:35:43Z

Great graphics, funny idea, but couldn't restart because the buttons don't work. Good try though, keep it up!

Exhaustion by Koala Squad 2018-08-22T05:58:38Z

It's a great game, I had lots of fun playing it till the end! Audio is really good, while graphics is simple but really cute. The story behind each card adds to the mood tremendously, I could see that you did put your soul in it. So the game overall feels really atmospheric. The gameplay is very diverse compared to some other games here. So many various cards and enemies! I would definitely play it again trying to explore some other deck building strategies.

About the critics, I had a brief look at the other comments here. Yeah, the tutorial would better not be time-based but just clickable. As opposed to other guys I had hard time keeping up with text and missed a couple of important rules the first time I played. Plus every restart you need to go through it again which is a bit annoying. And in my first game I didn't realize that my hand is in the bottom because they were perfectly symmetric. It's just a minor thing though. I really wouldn't say that the game lacks complexity or strategy. Maybe I'm just too bad at card games but in my case it was quite challenging and it took me quite some time to come up with the right strategy for some big enemies. However, sometimes the hand size felt way too small to think ahead and keep some cards for later. Especially when the hand keeps getting smaller. I like the idea of running out of space but maybe it would make sense to start with more space initially. Finally, a restart button would be nice. Every time I died I had to reload the page which doesn't seem user-friendly. Oh yeah, and small thing about graphics, the little guy floating from table to table across walls and stuff was hilarious

In any case, you did an amazing job and the game definitely deserves a high grade!

Scrap book: A doodle quest! by PunisherXA 2018-08-16T18:16:41Z

First of all, the art is really original and atmospheric. Although the music seems a little bit monotonic, it fits the art style and the mood reasonably well. The game itself is very simple, but the diversity of enemies doesn't let you get bored, while the 'running out of space' implementation makes the game more challenging and balanced. I really like the way how you limit the shooting frequency of the player. On the other hand, the game gets a bit too difficult when there are a lot of enemies, a little space and you die just after 3 hits. Or maybe I'm just too bad at it. But one cool addition would be to have some power-ups to give the player shield or AOE shots. And I couldn't really figure out what the middle menu button screen is about, because it remained black no matter how many enemies I killed and no matter how much space I lost. All in all, it's a really funny and atmospheric little game you have here. Very well done!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Life Business by jk5000 2019-04-30T17:34:10Z

Couldn't quite figure the best strategy. But the game seems complete and well-polished. Music and voice acting adds a lot to the atmosphere. Awesome job!

Fancy Flying by superchihuahua 2019-05-01T11:01:12Z

Good game! Graphics is great, but I lack an explosion when the plane crashes. Other than that, complete and nice to play.

Your life is my money by squaredev 2019-05-01T17:51:11Z

Great game! Graphics is the best, the world is huge and the characters are awesome. Gameplay and sound are very good as well. Just a couple of things I found a bit annoying: - mouse pointer doesn't disappear; - found a breach in the level layout, walked for a minute or so until walked to a dead end with a river. Was to lazy to go back, so tried to drown. After that, my cattle stayed on the other side of the river and all the new animals behaved really weird stretching the chain across the whole island and going away from me; - after the sacrifice to the volcano, which was actually quite hilarious, the game behaved weirdly. The game over screen is on, but I could still interact with the volcano and hear the resulting sounds; - dialog and animal sounds were a bit unnatural, but maybe it's just me.

Overall, amazing job!

Robin by mahalis 2019-05-01T09:11:09Z

Couldn't launch the original version unfortunately, so only played the post-jam one.

First of all, I've got exactly the same piggy-bank-shooting-coins-reducing-health idea though with a much simpler setup and uglier graphics, so I was really excited to see your implementation of this idea

The graphics and animation are trully awesome, make it feel a lot like a real game. Gameplay is fun, although a bit monotonic. Dodging and shooting and going to the next level gets boring quite quickly, even though the variety of enemies make it more diverse. Losing all the coins and being unable to shoot anymore was quite disappointing. So some improvements would help: - being able to get more coins. For instance, in my game I implemented it in a way, that you can borrow more under some interest rate; - some powerups would be nice, like enemies dropping coins and leveling skills/stats in between levels; - dynamic difficulty adjustment: the game gets more challenging (more enemies, stronger enemies, higher damage, faster enemies etc.) the more money you get; - minor remark, I would start from the piramid-like mobs on the first levels, since they are easier to handle. The shooting ones were quite challenging in the beginning; - and of course, some sound would make it more atmospheric.

But overall, great job! Top points for graphics and I really like the idea.

Idle Idol by Daniel Moreno 2019-04-30T17:22:16Z

Amazing game! Great atmoshpere. But some hint at the winning condition would help.

99 Days To Earth by Shaolin Dave 2019-05-02T05:43:21Z

Great idea and good implementation! In my opinion, the game is really intuitive, the gameplay description makes it crystal clear. Liked the story and the dialogues in the beginning, adds a lot to the atmosphere. Some improvement suggestions: 1. As mentioned above, the game is way too long. And it would be okay if it was challenging so that you die after around 10 days. But the balance is a bit off. I reached day 67 with 89 crew members, a lot of guns and almost full resources, so there was no way I could lose. But it seems that you have a lot of parameters to play with (enemy damage, trade quantity etc.), so it shouldn't be a problem to fine-tune the difficulty a bit. 2. For some reason if I put it full screen it still shows the game with the original small size in the corner of the screen. 3. Sounds are generally good, but the new day sound was a bit annoying starting from day 10 or so  4. Of course some Star Wars-ish soundtrack would add to the mood a lot. Maybe the game wouldn't seem that long when you can listen to the music. But all in all, quite an original idea and solid implementation, I did enjoy playing it. So well done!

Meat Your Unmaker by freakoftheyear 2019-05-01T16:13:38Z

Awesome game, very weird, totally confusing, but that's the good thing about it. Got nameless misty in the end, greatly enjoyed it.

Murder of Crows by Cygnus 2019-05-01T11:51:24Z

Very good entry, played around 5 times until I could figure out how to kill the big guy. Very well-polished, but lacks some music. Everything else is awesome though, well done!

Dear Substance of Kin by Deconstructeam 2019-05-01T18:28:12Z

Amazing game, very immersive. Top scores for graphics and sound. Gameplay was really interesting, but a bit not so clear. Played it till the end with excitement and enjoyed it a lot!

CtrLiF3 by Radnyx 2019-05-01T07:45:24Z

Very original! Great atmosphere, liked the design, sound and gameplay. Is there any way to win this game?

Showdown Arena by aplite 2019-04-30T19:22:54Z

Good game, animations are nice, gameplay is quite straight forward and working, the environment is suitable, the theme is covered. A bit more sound diversity would be nice.

Life is Money by Mykola 2019-05-01T11:16:13Z

@eric-smith thanks for the feedback, glad that you could get to that point!

@kaleido, @rocketraccoons thanks! I tried to explain the game mechanics in the game description and in a short in-game manual when you press Esc button, but I guess it's not that clear. Basically, the more money you have, the faster you are and the more dynamic the game gets. So in the beginning a good strategy would be to borrow around 20 coins from the bank with the right mouse button or Alt button just to speed it up. But make sure not to take too much, since the interest deductions will kill you quick.

@cheebz thanks a lot, really glad that you liked it!

Life is Money by Mykola 2019-05-02T05:12:07Z

@tamail, @allan-urique, @catangens thank you guys for pleasant comments, I'm really glad that you liked it!

@shaolin-dave, thanks for the detailed feedback. 1. Delay/cancellation of death. This behavior was rather intentional, since the point of the game is to always keep some cash in your pocket. But in case you lack some couple of coins, you can always borrow it from the bank, which would help in a situation like you described. 2. UI overflow. Good point, haven't really tested it on different resolutions, will try to fix it shortly. 3. Life as currency. You're totally right. Initially I planned to add a feature to increase your stats / skills for the money, but had to reject it due to the lack of time. Another feature I did implement was borrowing from / depositing to the bank account, which kind of gives another angle to look at the idea of currency. Anyway, thanks a lot for your comments, I'll definitely consider them during the next update!

Weasel Catcher by Juutis 2019-05-01T08:31:25Z

Got the gems! Awesome graphics and gameplay, reminds me of good old Ape Escape with catching animals and Spyro with all those gems. Very nostalgic. Red weasels were really challenging, especially when they start flying near walls, spent quite some time on them. I was so happy that blue ones were easy catch. The map is great, haven't expected it to be so large and well-designed. A little bit of sounds would make the game perfect. And I was hoping for some prank in the end, the grey weasel taking over the world or smth. Text about unrevaling the mystery was somehow not so rewarding.

Overall, really impressive work!

Lifeforms In Space by Eric Smith 2019-04-30T18:25:28Z

The best game I've played so far. Really impressive how you could do all that in just 72 hours! The gameplay is well-thought through, the graphics is amazing, animations are polished, music, sound FX and voice acting is awesome. Played it till the very end with excitement trying to find what could be improved. Here are some minor things: - not sure if it's a bug, but sometimes when a fleet is too close to a planet and you click on it, it doesn't go there but stays still, while the movement point is consumed; - I slightly lacked the "repair all" button; - fleet can freely fly through the sun; - would be great if enemies could capture your planets. The behavior of the enemy during their turn remained a mystery to me; - the ability to control the fleet during the fight would be nice;

But overall, really amazing. The most complete game with most features I've seen so far. Have put a lot of five-starts here.

Btw, the soundtrack is legendary! The fight theme reminds me of Final Fantasy motives.

Time Sucker by Nexusviper 2019-04-30T16:49:15Z

Great art and environment! Couldn't quite figure out how to use the objects, but killed a couple of running eyes. The game seems complete apart from the lack of sound, so well done!

Cellfish Power by AguaHervida 2019-04-30T04:55:26Z

Looks interesting, but couldn't really figure out how to play.

EZ GAME by LIMZIJIE 2019-05-01T07:55:36Z

Graphics and animation are awesome, very well-polished, top mark for that. Gameplay is a bit repetitive, but complete, which is really good. Sounds certainly add to the mood, a soundtrack would help even more though. Unfortunately, couldn't find how the theme is captured here. Overall, great job!

Robo Quest by Taximan981 2019-05-01T09:56:46Z

Great idea, replayed it a couple of times. Seems like jetpack is the key, but if I leave the level flying, I can't normally enter the next level - need to move back and forth or jump. Good job!

Pomidorko! by z0rlog 2019-05-02T06:15:12Z

Very beautiful game! And very sadistic, it was so sad to realize that you need to put your tomato on spikes to be able to move forward. But I enjoyed it anyway! Took me some attmepts to get on track with the movement and wall-jumping, but it worked smoothly in the end. The gameplay and level design are really polished. Awesome and very fitting sounds and graphics really add to the mood. It would be really nice to know what was developed during the jam though, to have some kind of credits section, since you opted out of some rating categories. But all in all, you did an amazing job putting it all together, definitely one of the most enjoyable games I've played so far! Capture.JPG

Life Path by kristinnes 2019-05-05T11:51:21Z

Good game! I don't quite understand the logic behind the three buttons (green, blue and red). They create a feeling that the first option is always correct and the last one is always wrong. Other than that, I enjoyed playing and somehow managed to finish with all the smiling faces.

Tomb of Temptations by Hunter X 2019-05-01T07:31:46Z

Great idea to balance the difficulty with HP. I did pretty much the same in my game, but adjusting difficulty automatically as HP changes. But I like your way, since it gives the player some choice in between the levels. It gets really fun when you max number of enemies out. Chargers are quite challenging, especially when there are a lot. Overall, great setup, but some sound would make it even better. Awesome job anyway!

Life Is Time, Time Is Money by Kimynay 2019-05-01T11:08:18Z

Nice game! It lacks some sound and a game over screen. But overall, idea is good and all is working, so well done!

Blood and goods by selewi 2019-05-02T16:54:07Z

Awesome game in all senses, the best I've played here so far. Graphics is great, sound is amazing, gameplay is absorbing, the UX (manuals, explanations, details, game flow) is magnificent. It all combines into a breathtaking atmosphere at the level of Darkest Dungeon. Reached room 60-something trying to find some shortcomings (which weren't easy to find), so here they go: 1. Played the whole game without sacrificing even once on encounter. Not sure if it's just me or the balance is a bit off, but I would usually gain more than sacrifice. 2. Once I get a build with ~15 armor and ~4 damage, I only get weaker stuff in shops, which is a bit annoying. Technically, the build seems more than enough to cope with encounters, but the willing to grow is not satisfied. 3. To be honest, I did sacrifice once on the 60-something-th room. I had ~150 hp and the sacrifice was up to 10, but I was left with ~50 hp afterwards, which was pretty disappointing. No cheats or special action combinations were used during the game, so not even sure how to reproduce it. 4. I really played the whole time with excitement and didn't get bored for a second, but I would still appreciate some kind of goal or winning point. Or maybe the game getting so challenging that you have to lose and get some score. But maybe I just haven't gotten to that point.

Well, those are some minor things I could notice, but all in all, it's a great game. Really well done, enjoyed every second of it, thank you guys!

Ballsy Escape by GeneralAnimal 2019-04-30T20:01:31Z

Very simple yet very fun. Impressive number of different levels. One of the most complete games I've played so far. Everything is present and everything fits together: gameplay, graphics, sound, UX. Especially well done with the tutorial. Overall, great job!

Cash Clash by tomatenbrei 2019-05-04T07:49:06Z

That's the best interpretation of the theme I've seen so far! Very creative. And it really works, exchange rates affect the game quite a lot and it's hard to win without planning ahead. AI doesn't seem to care much about their exchange rate, that's why it was relatively easy to win. But other than that, AI is on a really high level, interesting to compete with. So in terms of gameplay features and theme you definitely deserve the top mark. Graphics and audio seemed a bit too minimalistic and prototype-ish, but sufficient to enjoy the great gameplay. The main thing is that the game is complete and the concept is awesome. I would definitely like to see how you develop it further. Great job!

D.R.I.E.D. by JasonD 2019-04-30T19:09:07Z

Great game! Very atmospheric, graphics, sound and story are really well done. The gameplay is interesting, I like this kind of games. Even though there was some emptiness in between encounters, I really enjoyed reading through the existing ones. Besides, original take on the theme. Very well done!

Tooth, Claw & Teacup by HenanBoy 2019-04-30T17:43:54Z

Awesome art! Nice gameplay, I like the upgrading feature. A bit of a soundtrack would help, but other than that great job!

World Collector by Joe Williamson 2019-10-11T04:52:42Z

Original idea, polished gameplay and game design, beautiful graphics and terrific soundtrack! Trully a masterpiece, very impressive! I only have one question. Why did you decide not to put any sound effects for character actions (running, jumping)? Was it intended or just due to the lack of time?

Unlock Everything by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-10-24T06:00:54Z

Awesome game, my favorite entry so far! Music is amazing, thank you so much for sharing your creative process in the jukebox, very interesting and inspiring.

Great game, well polished, enjoyed playing! Very simple concept, but very original and fun to play. Good job!

Better than nothing by Fictions 2019-10-10T05:56:00Z

I really like the idea, haven't seen anything like that before. However, it would be more interesting if you made waves of enemies that you can slash + some power-ups you can buy. Otherwise, exploring consmetical features is fun, but gets monotonic pretty quick. Great job anyway, I really enjoyed the game!

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-16T06:07:45Z

@adamdude, @cybikitty, @$162477, @gargoyle-g, @sefirost, @jerripo, thank you so much for playing our game and giving your feedback!

For those who got stuck. (**Spoiler alert**)

Regarding getting stuck under the platform with arms, you can smash the wooden box by pressing 'B'. There are other smashable objects in the game, some of them might reveal secrets

Regarding being shot by the dog - it's the end of the game. However, there is an alternative ending, see if you can find it!

Return to Civilization by Dave Anders 2019-10-09T05:56:21Z

The game reminds me of Don't Starve, which I like a lot. I really like the art, but I miss a bit of diversity in the gameplay and I think a looping soundtrack would add a lot to the mood. The sounds of nature are great though! Voice acting is a good idea, but you could do more there and randomize it a bit. Overall, the game is complete, I could lose and win, and enjoyed playing it, so you've done a great job!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Twitch Feeds by StaNov 2020-04-28T19:03:27Z

Original idea! You got me hooked for a bit there. I would really like to see how you could diversify it a bit more using more game mechanics like obstacles, power ups, enemies, PvP etc. It's a good base for a fun game but in its current state it gets monotonic quite quickly. The art is cute and I love the music and sound effects! So the mood is pretty good. And I really like that it's complete and playable. Great job for a compo game!

Candle in the rain by Erkberg 2020-04-26T20:16:03Z

It was a really touching experience! Your game definitely deserves more ratings. It has one of the best stories I've in game jams. Puzzles make it even more exciting. Took me some time and viewing your comment above to figure out the last one. But it was totally worth it. The models are great, it's a pity you couldn't add the texture but the graphics does its magic anyway given the dark mood. Music is beautiful, you have my highest appreciation for it. It adds to the mood tremendously. You've done an amazing job for a 48 hour jam and I truly hope you will polish it even more adding the textures and nice UI elements. Good luck!

Keep her alive, please.. by Sublustris 2020-05-12T19:27:32Z

The art is really good, I loved it! The gameplay is promising but challenging as hell. The game speed felt way to fast. Maybe if you slow it down two times and make the red blocks more rare, it would be more doable. Especially in the beginning, when the player doesn't really know what to do. You could still increase the speed as the game progresses or add several difficulty levels. And yes, a tutorial would be very helpful. I had to look through the comments to understand what exectly is killing me every time I start the game =D

Overall, I really liked the feel of it and with some minor gameplay tweeks it would an enjoyable little game. Great job!

Defend the Keep! by omaskery 2020-04-24T20:57:22Z

It was fun to shoot around! Very nice missile and explosion visuals. A good base for a more complete game. It's a pity that it's not finished but you've done a great job to get that far nevertheless! The main thing that is not so hard to do and which was missing was the rules of the game: win, lose, score. It would a lot more fun and complete if those were present.

Will of the Wisp by johnfn 2020-05-11T18:36:35Z

Tried Chrome, Edge and Firefox but the furtherst I could is the black screen with three white dots, after I enter my name. It's really sad after all the positive comments I've read here. Please let me know if there is any other way to play your game.

Will of the Wisp by johnfn 2020-05-11T19:53:26Z

@fawnblue good point and thank you so much. Silly me.

It's one of the best games I've played in this jam. Definitely the best when it comes to audio and music. I'm really impressed that you managed to create so many legendary soundtracks in just 72 hours. I love the instrumentals. Is there any way I can listen to the whole soundtrack of the game?

Art is great, I loved the details like different flower animations as you walk by. The story-telling was great, very immersive plot, very funny dialogues at times and fourth-wall-breaking and reference phrases were on point. Whoever did the writing - huge respect and well done. All in all, amazing audio, great art and beautiful story create a perfect mood.

When it comes to the gameplay and programming, it did the job as the game was playable and felt complete. There is still some polishing to be done though. It was probably mentioned already, but I'll just recap: 1) for a milisec I could see the previous dialogue message when switching to the next one; 2) the last frame of the vines animation was stuck after it was over; 3) when activating the shroom while standing on top of it, the character animation glitches; 4) The first level soundtrack did loop smoothly as far as I remember. Overall, it didn't bug me much and the game was still really enjoyable. But it might be something to address if you decide to move on with the further development.

Overall, you've done an amazing job putting it all together. Top mark.

EDIT: I see you addressed all the issues in the post-ld version. Well done, feel much better now! I found just two issues: 1. a collider is missing from the left part of the very first ground obstacle. 2. I can't perform the mushroom jump in the crossroads screen, right after I teleport there after getting the fifth soul.

Original idea, I would really like to see how you develop it further to add more game elements. The idea to base game mechanics of game of life rules is really good.

Tamagotchi Mastermind by Khud0 2020-04-27T20:16:23Z

Very nice and polished game! Loved the art and the music was amazing. I'm not sure if the music fitted the mood though. Great job!

Keep I.T. Alive! by UncleChris 2020-04-20T19:39:35Z

It's hilarious! I really like the voicing and the art style. I think it has a good base to develop into a complete game. I still lacked the rules, the ability to lose / win and some kind of gameplay progression. Nevertheless, I had fun trying it out.

Great job for a compo entry!

Morose by 100th_Coin 2020-05-12T19:22:44Z

Awesome Undertaly touch! Really impressive amount of work done in just 48 hours. Art, sound, music, story and mood made it really immersive. I enjoyed the plot and would really like to see even more of it. The gameplay was very original and and I liked it a lot. There were a couple of weird things but they were already mentioned in the comments above, so I won't repeat. Super well done!

Pumpkin Keeper by gurkenlabs 2020-04-24T21:15:41Z

Very nice game! Gameplay is clean, art is awesome, sounds and music fit well, the story and dialogues are great creating a very good mood. And it's feels complete. I enjoyed playing it, well done!

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-05-03T18:15:47Z

Amazing graphics and UI! Probably the best visuals I've encountered in this jam. Really impressive. Music and sounds fit really well. The story and humor are great, made me giggle quite a bit. Gamepay is fun and gets quite challenging. What adds to the challenge is a bit weird behavior of fish babies. I played both version of the game but in both they follow you with some time lag and it happens quite frequently that you lose them on the way and have to go back to pick them up. Not sure if it was intended but it felt quite frustrating. That was one of the reasons why I couldn't finish the third level. Or maybe I'm just that bad. =D I did like the original AI more though, it looked smoother and more natural.

Overall, really great game, I enjoyed it a lot. If you polish the gameplay a bit and diversify it to make more interesting it's gonna be a production-ready game. Well done!

Recursion by Finn Truman 2020-04-24T20:05:07Z

This game deserves a lot more ratings! Maybe you should put more screenshots? Or maybe you should rate more other games to get the balance up? It hurts me to see so little feedback on such a masterpiece.

The art, music, sound and voice acting are awesome, creating amazing post-apocalyptic mood. At the same time narrator's comments were on point and made me giggle while dying dozens of times. The gameplay is polished. But what is really incredible is game and level design. At first I was frustrated that I couldn't reach some platforms but after reading some comments here I went back and did finish the game. The complexity is crazy by the way, I was so lucky to finish the final part with the first try.

What you could do better is to put some instructions to the game. I haven't carefully read the game description initially and had no idea that I should hold space to jump higher and that I could double jump. Also drop jump came as a big surprise. It was probably intended, but all the platforms are put so that you can barely make it with double-long-jumps. I've wasted lots of time to figure them out. There is complexity progression but it feels like it starts from super-hard and ends with impossible. No medium and no time to take a break. It is amazingly rewarding to complete this hell though. Unfortunately, not many players enjoy these kinds of challenges. How I wanted to approach it in my game (didn't have time to implement though) was to have two difficulties: one with relaxed jump force, speed and health parameters for those who prefer easy games and another with parameters that are barely enough to make it through the game for those who like challenge.

Overall, one of the best games I've played so far in this jam. Great job!

PostCat by Number6406 2020-04-26T19:09:11Z

Amazing game, it definitely deserves more ratings!

I loved the mood. Art was awesome and music and sound effects fitted right in. I really appreciate the UI animations and transitions, they make the menu alive. The way you present the tutorial to the player is great, there are little number of games in this jam that have a tutorial at all, but you're the first team to use such an immersive way to present it. Helps a lot to understand the rules. The game and level design are very good, it starts simple but I did spend sime time to get through the last level. The only thing I would comment is that you seemed to focus more on the speed challenge while I would expect more of a puzzle challenge in such a game. Overall, I believe it's a solid base for a very fun game! Great job making it in just three days, you deserve the highest ratings!

Great game!

Angst by Silas Reinagel 2020-05-01T20:19:52Z

Awesome idea but needs some polishing. Very nice story and monologues, art and music are very atmospheric. However, gameplay was a bit too simplistic and incomplete. I played till day 6 and stopped because dialogues were repeating every day and no office mini-games happened anymore, so I got an impression that there is no end to it. Plus there were some small annoying bugs and performance problems, for instance character's sprite displayed on top of a table and object, lagging in the forest, a bit weird character's animation.

That being said, I really liked the idea and could definitely relate. Very original and fun to play, great job!

Squirrel Saver by Likirus 2020-04-28T20:21:43Z

On the first level I thought that the physics are a bit weird and game and level design are a bit too simplistic. On the third level I got used to the physics and thought that the game and level design are not so bad actually. On the tenth level I became fully addicted to the game and thought that game and level design are amazing and you have to be a genius to come up with all these puzzle levels in such a short period of time! Really impressive piece of work. Art, sound and music fit very well and I'm really amazed thinking how you managed to put it all together in just 48 hours. Tremendous job, I enjoyed playing it a lot!

Burndown by Symnel 2020-04-22T19:18:50Z

The game is good. I like that it has all the components, gameplay is there, art is nice and music and audio are fitting as well. You could improve the game rules a bit though by adding a win condition / instructions. Otherwise, it gets monotonic rather quickly. It's pretty good for the first game jam though, I think you've done a great job. Keep it up!

MR BUZZ'S FANCY-ASS PICNIC by MrLeePerry 2020-04-26T19:36:47Z

It's amazing, one of the best games in this jam for sure! Art and voice acting is so great. Simple idea but extremely well implemented. I had a lot of fun playing it, well done!

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-22T19:58:38Z

Awesome art, sound and mood. Really polished and pleasant to play. Gameplay is good implementing usual clicker concepts but as any clicker gets monotonic quite quickly. The story line, decisions and voice acting helps to devirsify the gaming experience quite well though. Great job!

Companion by Akadream 2020-05-03T16:47:34Z

Graphics is really nice! I really like the pixel art and animations. Music and sounds are also quite fitting. The idea is very interesting and original. Quite uncommon that in a game you care about HP of another character rather than yours. I do feel that there could be a lot more to it. For instance, I was really lacking healing pickups. Couldn't really make it further than the third room. I think with some pickups, power-ups and abilities it would be a lot of fun. Right now it's a bit repetitive, even though it does look and sounds good. Overall, I should admit that you've done a really good job!

Oh, I also noticed one weird thing that sometimes when the friend is attacked, it stays on spot and doesn't follow the knight.

Firelighter by WoooWooo 2020-04-20T20:21:03Z

I have never played a Pico-8 game and I found this game really interesting. I loved the oldschool feel behind the gamplay, graphics and audio. I did lack the rules explanation and ability to win or score some points. But overall, it's been fun, great job!

Yeah, I saw this problem but unfortunately didn't have time to fix before the submission. Thank you for the hint, I will check discrete/continuous collisions out. It was the first time I used tilemaps in Unity so wasn't so confident in the collisions part. I'll try to fix it in the next version though.

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-04-22T17:08:03Z

@aguahervida thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback!

You're right, I need to decrease the respawn time so that it barely makes up for the normal fire decay, then the player would be forced to take more risk. Yeah, I tried to make it rather challenging but still achievable, also giving more points if logs are hard to get. High risk high reward kind of thing.

Thanks a lot for the kind words!

Thanks a lot for playing and for all the feedback shared about the game, it's really invaluable! You motivated me to invest more time and effort in the game and improve it. I fixed the mentioned bugs and did some small improvements to the game difficulty. Archives with a post-jam version of the game are available on itch.io. The following things were changed:

- Fixed instructions in the Pause screen to be correct. - Fixed the issue of being able to run through tiles. - Fixed the issue of spawning inside the tilemap. - Log respawn rates were adjusted to avoid player collecting only logs near the bonfire. - The level design and game parameters were adjusted to make the game more interesting. - Chill difficulty mode was added for those who don’t like to die and just want to go through the experience in a calm way. - Challenging difficulty more was added for those who want to use their agility and ingenuity to complete the game while still not sweating too much. I recommend to start with this one. - Die a Lot mode was added for those who would like to test their platformer skills. It’s hard but it’s doable.

Thank you once again and I hope you will enjoy the updated version!

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-04-25T13:15:42Z

@beavergames thank you for playing and for the feedback! Tried to fix the issue as you suggested but unfortunately continuous rigid body detection and composite collider didn't resolve it completely. After hours of research and experimentation I just mannually put box colliders around the level. A brute force approach but it did the job so now it's more playable.

@conor-galvin thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! I know putting all the tutorial to one screen is a lazy way to do it but given the time constraints it was the best I could do rather than skipping it at all. I agree that ideally it should be more user-friendly and will work on that on my next jam. And thank you for pointing out the spawning issue. I initially forgot to reset player's the velocity on respawn. But now it's fixed and the game is more pleasant to play! I really appreciate your kind words and feedback. You're welcome to try out the post-jam version of the game. :)

@finn-truman thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback! You're totally right that the balance was off in the original version of the game. I've now uploaded a post-jam version where you can try out three difficulty levels.

I fully agree that it would be a lot more fun to try something new. But it was my first Compo jam and I didn't want to take too much but rather make sure that I end up with a complete game. Now that this milestone has been successfully completed, I will definitely experiment more in my next jam!

Thank you so much for sharing!

@duke I really appreciate you time and your feedback! It definitely helped me to invest more time in the game and resolve the mentioned issues. You're welcome to play a post-jam version of the game now. :)

Regarding some of your comments: "collision quirks" has been resolved. "Looks like you needed a double jump or other special powers" - actually, Jump and Sprint are all you need to get to all the logs around the level. "Respawning was bugged sometimes" - but not anymore - fixed! "it wasn’t really clear, what the goal of the game or the motivation of the player was" - really sorry for that. I tried to describe the backstory and the goals in the game description. You can also find the winning condition in the tutorial screen. But I agree that this information doesn't come naturally. I really like how you approached it in your game though. I had a lot to learn from it in terms of story-telling and pretty much all of the game aspects.

And for sure, harsh is the kind of feedback I really value. That's how I learn. So thanks a lot for all those points, they really motivated me to improve!

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-04-25T13:33:20Z

@omaskery thank you so much for playing and for sharing the feedback! Glad to let you know that the log respawn issue has been resolved and you can't trick the game that easily now. As for the challenging and frustrating part, I've added several difficulty modes suitable for different play styles. I agree that controls can be worked on a bit more. But at least from my own experience all the logs can be reached using Jump and Sprint actions.

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-04-25T13:39:55Z

@gurkenlabs thank you for playing and sharing your impression! I'm really glad that you liked it. There is now a post-jam version available where some of the mentioned issues were fixed. More precise jumping controls and more dynamic challenges - I completely agree with you and I actually had these features on my list when working on the game. Had to drop them due to lack of time unfortunately. But in case I get back to improving the game again, these would be the first ones to take!

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-04-26T12:25:57Z

@stanov I'm actually surprised that everyone likes the music. I've spent just about two hours to put it together and I don't like it that much knowing that I could do better if I had more time to polish it. Nevertheless, I really appreciate your kind words in that regard!

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I would definitely consider the controls and tutorial more critically next time. Regarding "Fire", I agree, it would definitely give the game more persona. I did want to make the character more cute with eyes and everything, but after spending about an hour for the sole fire animation I had to prioritize to finish the game in time.

Thank you so much for playing and sharing your thoughts!

I agree about pixel resolution inconsistency. It's my first pixel art, so I wanted to try it out so badly that I didn't plan that the background image had to be in pixel art with the same resolution. Just didn't have to make it pixel-perfect. And yeah, I guess I need more polishing of Unity tilemap collisions.

Thanks a lot for your comments, I will definitely consider them for my next game!

@winterbeak thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback!

Actually, the fire should drain about two times faster when sprinting. I'll double-check!

Thank you for documenting your walk through in detail. It's really great to know that all that game balancing didn't go in vain and someone could finish the game apart from me!

Die a Lot - yes, that's almost exactly how I planned it! Took me some time to get it working and finish myself. And you totally have my respect for figuring out the impossible corner jump! That was one thing I was afraid noone would be able to complete. You also need to be of a smaller size to do it, that's why I usually started with that one. I got to a point where I managed to do the jump from about third try, so I understand how frustrating it was =D

I agree, respawn might be redundant for experienced players but I left it in case you can't complete the fire from the first round and so that you can repeat without dying.

Thank you so for putting your time and effort into playing the game! I hope you enjoyed it and I definitely got very good feedback to work with.

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-05-04T20:34:01Z

@fatpenguin thank you so much for playing and sharing your feedback!

I totally agree that the tutorial is a bit overwhelming and have put it to my to-do list for the next game jam to make it more interactive and step by step.

Thank you for mentioning the art style issue, I will definitely keep it in mind next time. I haven't heard of the Amazing World of Gumball before but now that I checked some gameplay videos I understand what you mean. And I actually really like the idea of extreme mixing of different styles but I would need to be really careful with that so that it doesn't become just a mess.

Yes, I had an idea to add a gamepad support but it went to background when I had to prioritize the game critical features. I agree that it would feel a lot more natural to play a platformer using a controller.

Good point about the story! I haven't thought that calling a difficulty level "Die a Lot" would make a player hopeless. Should've considered that.

And regarding logs, most of them are required to pass the hardest difficulty. But you're right that they are not needed when playing on a simpler level when you're not trained to get them yet. So definitely more work needed on the game and level design.

Thank you so much for the kind words and for all the relevant points. I'll definitely consider them and improve!

Amazing light game, sounds and smooth gameplay. I really loved the details like leaving blood pixels on the spikes. And great quotes and ideas behind the game. Final scene is beautiful. It's the best game I've played so far in this jam.

I was wondering if there is any Easter egg after you exit the cave and go up and to the left. I did a long distance but gave up when the ground started to become too steep to be able to come back.

Really great job for 48 hours of work!

Very impressive! Super innovative! The best mood, but missed some spooky music. Great job!

Outpowered by LCStark 2020-05-03T17:46:45Z

Amazing gameplay! Lots of really great features. I really like the concept of being forced to come back to the base (did the same in my game), the maze level design (I was concidering implementing it for my game but went with a simpler design) and enemy waves that force you to return to the base more frequently and add to the challenge. Really impressive game mechanics you've gathered and managed to implement in just 48 hours!

Graphics, sounds and music are simple but fit well. I think I would enjoy the game even more if those were a bit more complex and colorful. I feel like it looks more like a prototype rather than production ready game. Which is not bad at all given the amazing gameplay.

All in all, you did a really great job and I largely enjoyed playing it!

Friendly Fire by very dark lord 2020-04-24T20:42:34Z

Awesome story! I really liked the plot and the dialogues. And of course everything else deserves the highest mark. Smooth controls, beautiful pixel art, fitting sounds and music, everything creates a great mood and immersive experience. I would double the others that it would be good to decrease the main music volume during the dance minigame. But all in all, I think it's one of the best games I've played here so far. Well done!

My inners are ours by AguaHervida 2020-04-21T19:27:27Z

Awesome graphics! Very original idea. But I agree that checkpoints are really needed because it's rather challenging to get to the end without much dying. Also missed some sounds to amplify the mood.

All in all, I enjoyed playing it, great job!

Conservatorio by magus77 2020-04-22T19:39:57Z

Very impressive amount of work! The game reminds me a lot fo Stardev Valley, I think you got the mood right. Art and sounds are great, very atmospheric, the gameplay is good and I really appreciate all the hints and tutorials. It took me some time to realize that I need planters to plant seeds. And even then, it seemed like the money / pricing system is a bit unbalanced. Seeds cost 1 coin, so I've bougth 20 right away, but planters are so expensive that I could buy only 2 and it took forever to grow those tomatos. Since they cost only 5 coins it takes quite a lot of time to save for new planters so you need to play for a long time to develop a solid greenhouse base. That being said, I think you've done a tremendous job and you have an awesome base for a farmer game that you can now polish and add new features to. Good luck with it!

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-04-27T19:20:29Z

Great story-telling and dialogues! Loved the art and sound and music fit well together. Very nice fantasy medieval mood. Great job!

Nature of Fear by Omickron 2020-04-24T20:35:14Z

Great graphics and atmosphere, some creepy ambient music would be a good addition. Gameplay is a bit clunky at times, but overall I liked it. Good job!

The Holy Sword by PastelGames 2020-05-06T19:30:51Z

Original idea! I like the gameplay, the art and the music create very good mood. Would be great to have more moves to diversify the strategy. Great job!

READ THE LABEL by winterbeak 2020-04-30T20:53:14Z

Hilarious! Loved the game, completed all the levels. Awesome original idea!

Tears of Coffee by Milestone Games 2020-04-21T21:09:12Z

Very impressive art for a compo entry! Gameplay was very smooth. Music was fitting to the mood. The main thing missing for me was inability to win or lack of progression. If you add that, it would a nice well-polished order execution game.

Great job!

Custom Critter Fighter by Empty Set 2020-04-29T19:37:34Z

It's my favorite game in this game jam! I like shoot-em-ups and roguelikes and you combined them in a great way! I think it deserves to go to production and I would be really excited to play it when it does. I was really amazed how you kept the balance, it was very interesting till the last level. One thing I was really waiting for was a boss level but it never came. And of course neat graphics and fitting music create a great mood.

I played it for 30 min and I don't regret. Amazing job for a jam game! Do let me know if you're going to develop it further.

GORID-19 by BeaverGames 2020-04-21T21:30:27Z

Great simulation game, I liked it a lot! The most innovative and interesting game I've seen so far in this jam. Tutorial helped a lot. One thing I was missing was information on how the quarantine works, because I couldn't send recovered pals back to their planets and quarantine planet quickly ran out of space. I'm really looking forward to see how you develop it further. Really like the concept.

Great job!

Keep a Plant by KDgame 2020-04-21T19:58:53Z

Very solid game for the first try on your own! Simple but complete. Gameplay is straight forward, art is on point, sound fits well and I really like how the soundtrack feels. Everything comes together very nicely. Great job and keep up the good work!

She Rocks by paynob 2020-04-24T21:00:51Z

Very educational and innovative! I really liked the idea. The graphics is neat and the atmosphere was pretty good as well. Unfortunately, the bird was dying too fast and there was no way to heal it. I guess you can manage it if you're really good, but then maybe a progression system for the time to die would make the game easier to learn and postpone the challenge to the late game.

Great job overall!

The Light Child by hulien22 2020-04-21T20:35:51Z

Cute game with interesting gameplay. Not too hard but not so user-friendly to keep switching between the objects you carry all the time. The programming part seems to be quite polished.

Overall, great job, very impressive for a first compo entry!

Fire Camp by MuchoBestoStudio 2020-04-22T18:54:22Z

Awesome graphics and amazingly polished gameplay. It was a pleasure to play it. I don't if it's me but for some reason there was no sound on the Windows version. Game was fun but it got monotonic pretty quickly. I really like the progression system but it was a bit disappointing that you need to do the same thing every time. The atmosphere is great though.

Very impressive, great job guys!

Sheep it alive! by SheetCode 2020-04-21T20:21:22Z

Very impressive for the first compo entry! Interesting and challenging gameplay, I liked multiple difficulties. Neat art and animations. Hilarious sound effects and fitting soundtrack. The game is complete and fun to play. Everything is perfect, one thing I still felt is that it gets a bit boring the more you play. Maybe some pickups / power ups / skills would make it more diversified.

All in all, it's a really great game, I enjoyed playing it!

Keep Dano Alive by Blue Pin Studio 2020-04-24T19:21:12Z

Took me some time to make the game launch but after trying different zips and executing multiple times it worked! The concept is great, reminds me of Overcooked. Gameplay is smooth, no bugs found and quite polished. Art is great and there is a lot of it, I really liked it. Music and sounds are very fitting and voice acting is very nice to hear, even though it sounded a little bit artificial. It's amazing that you created all of it in just three days!

The main improvement point would be complexity progression. You have a lot of content but you need to do the same thing all the time which gets boring quite quickly. Would be good to diversify that somehow bby introducing new game mechanics.

Overall, very impressive and I enjoyed playing it!

IMOJC by Tesseract 2020-05-07T18:44:58Z

Very original idea, liked it a lot. Would be great to develop it further and add more game elements!

The Soulkeeper by Camilo Quintero 2020-04-21T21:00:06Z

The art is great, very impressive for a compo entry! Loved the model and animations of the main character, as well as all the other models in the game. The gameplay is fun but was a bit too challenging for me, couldn't keep up with all the things happening on the screen. An ability to heal would make it more user-friendly.

Really great job!

Amafufunyana First Jam :D by Brian Suarez 2020-05-07T18:16:04Z

Amazing graphics but a bit confusing gameplay. I guess it's me but I couldn't find any of the things unfortunately. The sounds were a bit artificial. Some background noise and fade in / fade out would help to make them more natural. I did enjoy the environment really but was missing some music to add to the mood. Overall, you did a really great job with the graphics but some user experience hints and diversified gameplay could make it even better. Thank you for creating it!

Social Distancing For LadyBugs by mehrdadsh 2020-04-27T19:13:14Z

Very nice little game! I really like the idea and it does get challenging the longer you play. Loved the AI movement, work really smoothly. The gameis quite polished overall as well. Great job for the first game jam!

Dog Feeder by plantleaf 2020-04-20T19:55:22Z

Hilarious! Simple yet lots of fun. Great job for a compo!

An Afternoon Adventure by nicolasmaclean 2020-04-21T20:09:18Z

I liked the story and the funny mood. The gameplay is fun but a bit unpolished: small multi-jumps felt a bit weird. Love the art style, did you actually use pen and paper? I was bit confused when the game suddenly finished, a victory message would help there. Nevertheless, it's quite complete - you can win, you can loose and the gameplay is clear. Didn't have problems with finding controls but small hints like you have about the head would be nice.

Overall, I enjoyed playing it, well done!

Human Apocalypse by Fathy Basha 2020-04-21T19:52:24Z

Great game! As said above, the animations are perfect. The music sounds very live, I liked it a lot. The mood is awesome, I loved the story and the ending!

From improvements, I would double that the button font color in the menu is barely visible, the text in the bottom is too small and there are a couple of bugs like the door sound getting stuck when the neihbour comes to the bedroom.

Overall, I really enjoyed playing it, great job!

Keep Pit Alive! by BunnyDen 2020-04-27T19:06:14Z

Unfortunately, couldn't get out of the very firts pit due to very low jump. Based on a review looks good though. A really like the art style and animations.

Kitty King by matt2728 2020-04-21T21:19:13Z

Interesting game. I liked the art style, especially the kitty-king. The mechanic is fine. I was missing the hit point indicator at first but could quickly figure out that cat can take three hits. Was a bit too challenging for me to proceed too far though. Is there any way to win it?

Great job overall!

SAVE THE DINOS! by marcusnystrand 2020-04-27T18:56:41Z

I love the idea! Very simple yet very engaging. Love the art and the sound even though would prefer something more funky in terms of music to fit better to the mood. The game is very well polished, well done for a solo jam entry!

The Plant Shop by Conor Galvin 2020-04-22T18:26:16Z

Very nice polished game! Even though it's simple, it's feels complete and pleasant to play. Graphics and UI/UX are great, music fits well and creates the mood, story line / instructions made me giggle. The gameplay is polished but it would make it more replayable if there was more diversity like power ups, enemies or more levels. But I completely support your decision to limit the scope as much as possible for the first game jam. Btw, very impressive for the first try. Great job, I enjoyed playing it!

The Game of our Lives by Owl_Skip 2020-04-20T19:49:42Z

It's beautiful. I really love the music and the graphics is great. Voicing is awesome, reminded me the voice acting from "Getting over it". Very good to go into one's thoughts. I did miss a game element though.

Small note, when playing the web version, the resolution seems too big for my monitor, so I have to use scroll bars to get to the game screen edges. Because of that also the full screen button can't be reached. It might be just me, but I had the same problem with my game and I fixed it by reducing resolution in itch.io to 1280 x 720.

Other than that, great job and a piece of great art. Thank you for creating it!

Lettuce Be Friends by YaakGold 2020-04-24T19:26:57Z

Very original idea! Unfortunately, I missed the main goal of the game from the lengthy tutorial. But when I saw the game over screen with the explanation it became very clear. So I would suggest putting something more similar to the game over screen to tutorial instead. It describes the goal very briefly and concretely.

Other than that, everything is great. I really liked the diversified gameplay, awesome art and fitting sound. All of that creates perfect mood. I really enjoyed playing it!

Rolling Chicken TD by RodPraet 2020-04-22T18:39:43Z

Really amazing gameplay! I'm very impressed how you managed to implement so many features in 72 hours. The game was really fun to play and kept me excited till the final wave. I really liked the feature with mobs stealing eggs so that towers can attack them on their way back. The mood was good, I liked the art (again, very impressive that you've created so much of it) and the music. What I was missing are smoother animations and sound effects, some visual and audio response to actions. But the exciting gameplay totally makes up for that.

Awesome job!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

All the same by Erkberg 2020-10-06T18:45:28Z

It's really beautiful! Amazing mood, great idea, solid execution. Loved the music and sound effects. One of my favorite entries so far in this jam. Very well done!

BUSHIDŌ by wujood 2020-10-07T17:35:58Z

Really nice game! Great sound and art, gameplay is rather straight forward. But how do I get out of here?Screenshot 2020-10-07 203534.png

BUSHIDŌ by wujood 2020-10-07T17:57:45Z

@wujood ahhh, thank you for the hint! Don't know how I missed it, great idea actually! =D

BUSHIDŌ by wujood 2020-10-07T18:23:49Z

Rich level design! Impressive amount of content for a jam game. Not sure if it's expected but in one level all platforms disappeared and I had to go though it three times before it let me finish.

Overall, great job!

BUSHIDŌ by wujood 2020-10-07T18:59:51Z

@wujood, the one with cloud platforms, dragons and stormy clouds. I remember it showed 1000 in the top left corner.

Hamster Tank by elemel 2020-10-11T18:03:35Z

Well that was the most creative and the most hilarious hamster game I've played so far on this jam! The movement feels very good, initially I even thought that it's a Gravity Defied kind of a game where you need to regulate your speed and angle to climb the hills. Really fun when played multiplayer, gamepad controls are very intuitive and convenient. An aim cross would help with shooting though. But overall really fun and well-polished. Pleasant art and funky soundtrack, love the mood! Great job!

Routine by Ommadawn 2020-10-06T17:48:20Z

Really weird and I like it! One might think that it's a bit clumsy and not polished, but surprisingly, in your case it actually fits! Got stuck on one of fan levels. Some hints would help, now I'm dying to know how the game ends. =D

The mood is amazing! Great job!

Bust-a-Loop by PeachTreeOath 2020-10-10T15:11:14Z

Amazingly impressive for a solo game! And very innovative. Even though there is no sound and the art is very simple, it's one of the most engaging games I've played in this jam. Tutorial is great. If you ever get to working on it further, I'd really like to play it!

Really well done!

Lone Racer by gwheel 2020-10-21T20:29:33Z

It turned out to be quite fun! Even though I was terrible, it didn't matter because the opponents were even worse. Still managed to lose to my third self.

Some things to improve would be to make controls smoother, currently they're a bit too sensitive and hard to manage. I didn't quite understand why the walls were changing size.

Overall, well done!

Ribbon by 100th_Coin 2020-10-15T17:35:28Z

It's the first time I see something similar, very unique game mechanics! Original gameplay, great artwork and music fit very well together. I really enjoyed it, I just wish it could be longer. Great job!

The Looper Encounter by Shaolin Dave 2020-10-07T20:03:42Z

Very nice and polished game mechanics. Something I haven't seen before. Ship movement is really good. Yet it gets monotonic quite quickly, different kinds of enemies or a boss would make it more diverse. Also different skills like more complex loop shapes would make it more fun. But within the time constrain the game is very much complete and impressive. Great job!

Dreamless by Lamossus 2020-10-06T19:06:55Z

Very good take on the theme. It started rather depressive, but I liked how it gets slightly better every time. Unexpectedly deep, very well done!

Beyond Death by Trypants 2020-10-08T19:38:13Z

Amazing art and amazing world! Music is really nice. The gameplay is interesting, though it gets quite annoying to go through the same obstacles every time. But changing world helps to keep it diverse. Good job!

Hamster Simulator by Alfadas 2020-10-07T17:56:39Z

Nice balancing game, I liked the calm relaxing mood. Would be nice to add more challenge, but it's already a solid complete game. Well done!

GLITCH LOOP by ZakAmana 2020-10-15T20:08:36Z

The best game ever!

Hyperloop by very dark lord 2020-10-06T18:25:44Z

The art, sound, dialogues and mood are amazing! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and small details like rats animation and AI, flashlight, gun reload movement.

The gameplay though seemed a bit trivial, I was really looking forward to some creative game mechanics. The enemies were rather easy, so I haven't found much challenge there.

That being said, it all fits really well together and makes for a really immersive experience. I really liked how you implemented the dying/replay!

There are a couple of weird thing I've found that would hopefully be useful for you polish the game even more: - when going all the way to the left the game weirdly teleports you a couple of steps back which ruins the immersion. When moving all the way to the right there is no visual feedback that it's not the way you're supposed to go. - since I managed not to die the first time, I tried to replay and some weird stuff started happening. It seems like the game doesn't reset after you finish it. The lights were on and after dying it showed the train moving without any chance to replay. - so I refreshed the page and tried to die all the way. After game over, if you restart, the light is off and the scary sounds are playing.

But overall, great idea and solid realization! Amazing job!

Permit A-39 by kirroyal 2020-10-06T19:27:49Z

Amazing take on the theme! Really great level design and art. One suggestion I would give you is to make the tasks very simple and close to reception in the beginning and increase the complexity as the game proceeds. Otherwise, it's really confusing and demotivating when you have no idea how to get to the other place in the building. But maybe it's just lazy me.

In any case, great job!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-07T17:45:54Z

You too have a hamster game! Very well executed, though it would be nice to have a bit more challenge.

Good Morning, Beautiful World by Miyolophone 2020-10-08T20:45:43Z

Amazing soundtrack as usual, @miyolophone! Loved it!

Art is pretty good too.

The story is really rich, but a bit too long. I feel like it would be more fun to have different shorter branches and endings instead. I didn't understand what's the point behind the inventory, never had a chance to use any item. But maybe it's just me.

Overall, great entry!

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-08T17:56:49Z

Very creative game mechanics! Art and models are awesome! Really enjoyed the game. @eldar I had the same question! @eugenik did you create breakdancing animations yourself? They look very realistic. Great job!

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-08T18:49:53Z

@eugenik, then it would be great if you mention in the description what art is created by you and what art is created by someone else so that people rate only your art.

Foolish Me by Raeya 2020-10-10T15:40:09Z

This game is a lot of fun! Very challenging but that's how I like them too. Playing on the controller is very intuitive. I got stuck at this point though. As I don't have PS or XBOX controller, then the controls instructions are messed up and R2 is the only button I couldn't find. Keyboard doesn't work at this point for some reason. What am I supposed to do here? Screenshot 2020-10-10 183707.png

Hamster Survival Racing by Carson Bentley 2020-10-07T17:50:56Z

Wow, that's a great take on the theme! We did a hamster game too but yours is really original. What is missing from the game is more complicated racing tracks and ability to play with a friend. In any case, I really enjoyed it! Well done!

Jessica Calls by yellowmoleproductions 2020-10-06T19:17:43Z

Fun idea! Very nice little puzzle game. I liked the graphics and sounds quite a bit and gameplay was really polished. Great job!

Resurrection by etrealjunior 2020-10-08T17:40:41Z

Loved the music. The game is pretty simple but has a very good mood. The art is nice and tells the story very well. Would be nice to add some challenge to it, but it work as a relaxing visual novel too. Well done!

Looped Fellas by BukkakeTears 2020-10-07T18:57:16Z

Amazing game! Really great art and idea is original. Had to read the description to understand how to play, could be more intuitive. Also it wasn't clear how to get to any ending, but eventually I figured it out. Very well done!

SORO BORO by nethead 2020-10-07T18:38:25Z

Very good entry! Everything is on point. I played several times but could not find a way to pass between enemies on the way to exit on the third level. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the game!

Loopity Loop by JafCraze 2020-10-08T18:40:34Z

Great job for the first game jam! It's really complete and fun to play. Very good idea. Constant screen switching was a bit annoying, but it also made it more challenging and fun.

Sleepy Hamster by Karl Erik Saks 2020-10-05T22:44:31Z

@lamossus, @ommadawn thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback! We carefully considered it and managed to do some improvements before the final deadline. You are more than welcome to give it another try! =)

Sleepy Hamster by Karl Erik Saks 2020-10-08T17:28:15Z

@duke thanks a lot for the constructive feedback, I agree with every word. Unfortunately, time constraints didm't let us polish the game as much as we wanted.

I do remember that you left very useful feedback for my previous game, still very much appreciate it! This time however, the music is by @karl-erik-saks and I focused mainly on the coding part. And you and your team keep surprising and inspiring by doing beautiful games of enormous scale! =D

Sleepy Hamster by Karl Erik Saks 2020-10-08T19:20:04Z

@etrealjunior, thank you for trying it out. No, it shouldn't crash. Which platform are you using? You can also try the web version, it should be stable.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Sea of Lies by Erkberg 2021-04-27T21:42:34Z

Deep idea, as usual! Very relevant and really well implemented. The gameplay is pretty simple but has a lot of great details, such as different enemy types, changing background, funny comments. The mood is great, very nice music and decent graphics. I really enjoyed playing the game, thank you for creating it!

Into the Woods by KerelOlivier 2021-05-01T18:26:42Z

Good game, loved the ending! The mood is great, the music and the art fit really well together and promote tense atmosphere. Animation was very smooth and the movement felt really well. For some reason, the character was moon walking when standing on a surface with an angle but it looked quite fun. I just missed a bit of diversity in the gameplay but overall it's a pretty solid entry. Well done and keep it up!

Magic Takes Root by PeculiarCarrot 2021-04-28T14:37:23Z

Wow, that's one of the best games I've played so far in this jam! Pretty original game mechanics. I really wonder how you programmed that root, it moves really smoothly! The challenge is decent when you need to focus on two things at the same time. Even when played by two people it's pretty tough and I like it. Amazing atmosphere with cute graphics, sounds and a bright soundtrack. Overall, makes a really great game, one can see that you put your soul into it, especially those moles! Awesome job!

Deep Potato by smirnov48 2021-04-30T16:29:15Z

Very solid entry! This game has a lot of content. It was atmospheric, exciting and addicting, I had a lot of time playing it. Everything in this game is great: idea, gameplay, graphics, music and sound. On the other side, it does seem that you over-scoped it, as the last two planets are not finished and kind of break the excitement. It would be better to either limit it to one planet or to reduce the scope of the first planet and put some things to the rest. Small finished game is usually better than big unfinished one. Also, some more polish would be great, as sometimes the character went through the tiles and sometimes collisions with resources weren't recognized. It would also be great to understand why you're mining potatoes from alien planets.

But overall, it's a really great game and you did a very good job putting it together!

RAMnesia by 100th_Coin 2021-04-28T14:58:19Z

Wow, you're really good at creating mind-breaking puzzles! Very clever and original game mechanic. Lots of level content and you even managed to create some awesome art and sound to keep the mood. Really impressive! I also see that you had to cut some corners like tutorial/controls and ability to go back to menu. One of the important ones for me would be being able to see the number of levels and to switch to the next one if you're stuck. So there is some space to improve on the player experience. Other than that, amazing game that feels a lot more than just a jam game. Great job!

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-28T16:57:40Z

Amazing idea, had lots of fun playing it! Very well-polished and with a great art, sound and mood. The best game I've played so far in this jam, a masterpiece. Amazing job!

Foundations by cottontshirtz 2021-04-28T21:15:00Z

Amazing mood, the game is very well-built to convey the idea. Very good take on the theme. Really challenging but you managed to implement it very well. The voice acting is awesome. Great job!

Drilbert by wheybags 2021-04-28T21:43:34Z

Great puzzle game! Amazing level design. It's relatively easy to crack levels once you get the idea how it works. But it's quite challenging to understand how it works at first. The idea is brilliant and would totally fly as a full-scale mobile game. Some things I would suggest are making level difficulty scale up slower and some present visual guidance at first, ability to undo your action would be a lot more forgiving and less annoying, and ability to see all the levels and select next one if you're stuck at some level. Overall, really impressive and very well done!

🔥 Magma Eater 🔥 by landosilva 2021-04-30T16:48:39Z

Wow, that felt like a really good time killer for mobile. Amazing idea and seems quite original! Great gameplay, graphics, sounds and mood. I had fun playing it. Very well done in creating it in such a short period of time!

Dream Catcher by Mykola 2021-04-27T19:49:30Z

@rimskypapa, yep, that's the core game mechanics.

Dream Catcher by Mykola 2021-04-28T21:50:33Z

@landosilva oops, that's not how the tutorial is supposed to end. Thanks for reporting that!

What you should do is to hit backspace when it introduces it in the tutorial and then you'll be able to start the real game. Please try it out, as it's quite skill-based and challenging indeed, and there is an unexpected twist if you manage to beat the game. :)

Dream Catcher by Mykola 2021-04-29T18:36:15Z

@kapa6uh, @carolinewang, @rubenwardy, @tubertz, @laurent and everyone below thanks a lot for your kind words, we're really glad you enjoyed the game! It means a lot to us!

@peculiarcarrot, @landosilva, @totteriludum, @fabula-rasa, @waltsontanaka, @hoeleboele, @mighty-mufflon-games, @minefreak thank you so much for the detailed feedback and suggestions, they are invaluable. I carefully went through them and tried to cover most of the show-stopper issues in a post-game version of the game with bug fixes. You are more than welcome to try it out!

@waltsontanaka regarding the cuteness and swearing we fully agree with you and plan to make a child-friendly version of the game. For the jam version, we thought that it might be too cute, so decided to balance it out with some black humor. You might want to try getting to the ending of the game to discover what's behind this controversy.

@minefreak regarding the procedurally generated obstacles, they actually are there in the main game. I'm afraid that you've encountered a bug in the tutorial phase and didn't get transitioned to the main game. Sorry about that! You can check it out in the updated version with bug fixes now.

@eric-smith we really appreciate it that you took your time to play our game on your stream and give us some really good feedback. Fixing the sprite import setting made them look much better! Would you mind if I add the link to your stream to the game description? This way, those who get stuck or can't play the full game for some reasons, can still see the full content of the game.

Dream Catcher by Mykola 2021-05-01T18:49:04Z

@xpoho well done, you almost made it till the end! If you can go some 30-50 meters deeper you will find out why it's swearing and what's behind its weird dreams. Thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@pnkvrt thank you very much for playing and the feedback! Yes, we started with standard controls where it moves in the direction you press but it was too easy and not consistent with the falling / dreaming concept. So we changed them to be harder to manage and more affected by the physics of falling and floating. This way, it felt more like navigating through a dream and trying to move while falling. So the iffiness is kind of on purpose. You can also do some cool and funny flip and parkour tricks with these controls.

Gloomby's Misadventure by don.shinski 2021-05-08T17:36:06Z

Very original take on the theme, liked it! Controls are a bit inconvenient, agree with suggestions above. Would make it simpler to have them more the Enter the Gungeon style. Other than that, it was quite fun to play. Great job!

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-27T22:24:27Z

Amazing game! Made it to the bottom. Really impressed with all the aspects of the game. Great job!

To the Core by Eric Smith 2021-04-27T21:21:17Z

Great idea! Gave it a few tries but unfortunately, couldn't get even to the middle. It's a pretty simple concept and very well executed and fun to play. With more diversity in block and ore types it would really good!

Liked the atmospheric music and sounds. Art and story were quite funny but actually, really well done.

Great job! Enjoyed playing it!

Deeper Daddy by AguaHervida 2021-04-28T10:17:30Z

Nice game! I liked the interesting approach of using 2d sprites in 3d world. I would say that it's a bit too strict killing the player from the slightest touch of a rock. Other than that, really well-implemented. Liked the art and the soundtrack, they create great mood. Great job!

Billy's Gone Again by KingOfNova 2021-04-30T18:02:30Z

Very solid entry! Really well-put together and polished. A lot of content and mechanics. AI is really decent. Amazing visuals and audio. Trully reminded me of Enter the Gungeon. I had a lot of fun going through it!

I do have suggestions to improve as well. The level was so long and all the same that at some point I started doubting whether there is an ending and whether I'm moving in the right direction. Some feedback to the player that you can win this game would help. A story would be really nice to understand what you're doing there and what you're after. Otherwise, feels more like a generic bullet hell with unlimited procedurally generated world. Not sure if every player will have the nerve to make it till the end.

Another small suggestion would be to make dash give you invincibility for a short period of time, otherwise it's not that useful. I haven't seen a need to use dash till the final battle.

Finally, I'm so glad that there was a final battle, defeating the boss felt rewarding. But after winning the game just froze for several seconds and then returned to the main menu, which wasn't rewarding at all. Even a "Congrats" text would make it more rewarding. But ideally, some uncovering of the story and a small animation would make player experience a lot better. I would personally trade one of the weapon and enemy types for it.

Nevertheless, overall, really amazing job for a jam game. Very impressive and inspiring. Well done!

Spermy the Whale Goes Deeper and Deeper by Flying Dog Fish 2021-05-08T17:19:25Z

Good game! It was pretty challenging, I barely managed to get to the bottom before the time ran out. Needs some practicing for sure. Great job!! [Screenshot 2021-05-08 201515.png](///raw/35e/11/z/424a1.png)

Aqua Mine by kypello 2021-04-28T19:16:10Z

Really nice art, quite a fun game idea! Also, pretty interesting twist on a submarine + mining direction. Well-polished and could be developed into a full game. Great job!

Bubbly by Kaish 2021-05-02T16:50:26Z

Amazing entry! Loved the graphics and the music fits nicely creating a spooky atmosphere. Very fun gameplay and the leaderboard keeps you hooked. Great job!

Dig the Onion by Vivien Fargette 2021-04-28T19:59:21Z

Amazing take on the team, loved the idea and the crying effect. The blurriness might be a bit too much though in the end game. Overall, awesome mood and implementation. The cards functionality was a bit confusing but that might be due to me being inexperienced at card games. Great job overall!

Sheppard by PeaNud 2021-04-28T20:09:04Z

Great graphics and sound! The controls are a bit constrained as has been mentioned by others above but other than that makes a good retro-style platformer. Well done!

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-05-01T19:56:19Z

Amazing! That's one of the best games I've played so far in this game jam and it definitely feels like a complete game with a lot of effort put in it. It would make a great mobile game!

I'm totally blown away by the visuals, sound and voice acting in this game. All of it is so beautiful leading to an awesome mood. The soundtracks are great. I'm so impressed that you managed to compose a 5+ minute long soundtrack for each planet and menu!! I wonder how long on average did it take you to finish one track? What kind of musical background and experience do you have to do so much of such an awesome music so quickly?

The only minor recommendation I come up with is to improve the transitions between different soundtracks. Currently, it just cuts the previous track and starts the next one but mixing the two or even just fading in/out would make it sound a bit smoother. One other thing I just realized is that the game could benefit from sound effects to provide audio feedback to the actions done by the player. Something simple like clicks, drag&drops, shuttle engine noise and such would make the game a bit more alive.

To sum up, top marks for most categories, really impressive work. You've done a totally incredible jam game, very well done! Looking forward to seeing you on future jams!

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-05-02T17:25:42Z

@caca thank you so much for your thorough answer!

Ahhh, I got a bit confused by the tracks' lengths on the Soundcloud. But even then, they are really well-written and don't get repetitive even after several play-throughs.

I see, now I can imagine it much better. Around 4 hours per track seem to make sense. Yet I really rarely see jam games with as much musical content as yours. I guess it's really hard to create 8 rather different melodies and switch between them, so that's the main challenge of composing in a short period of time.

I'm really impressed that you have only one year of composing experience. I would think that you are a professional composer! Thank you very much for sharing these hints to composing, they are really useful and I'll try my best to follow them when I have free time as well and hopefully, my next game will turn out better.

Thank you once again for replying, you did answer all of my questions. I'm really amazed and inspired thanks to you and your team! Keep creating and I'll be looking forward to seeing your next projects!

Catlantis by fabula_rasa 2021-04-28T19:32:42Z

Great game, really a lot of content! Impressive for a jam game. Liked the art and the mood. The gameplay was pretty smooth and the game felt complete. Great job!

Cthulhu's Deep Dream by retrome 2021-05-04T20:14:09Z

Solid platformer with hilarious story! The gameplay is very smooth but I didn't initially understand that the pick up increases your health. Art is super cute. Well done!

Tin Mining by rubenwardy 2021-04-30T16:38:36Z

Very nice game! Good graphics and decent implementation of a pretty challenging game mechanics. Unfortunately, I haven't made any money on my mine =D But it was fun watching AI walking around and doing stuff. Great job!

Hellevator by baconn00 2021-04-28T20:29:02Z

Amazing game! Really original idea and fits the theme really well. Gameplay is smooth and easy to grasp. Art and sounds are great and create some good mood. I'm really impressed that you made it alone in just 48 hours. Awesome job!

Pescuit Pe Plajă by Trexxak 2021-04-30T17:33:51Z

Exciting game, really kept me intrigued about those 30 hand-drawn fishable treasures. I was surprised when I finally found my last LD game on the bottom of some of the weird lakes.

Seriously, I was also thinking to make a fishing game, but then switched to a different idea. What would be great to add is some progression with fishing rod upgrades, different baits and ability to sell caught fish. But that would be a way bigger scope.

Overall, very nice simple game. I liked the drawings and fish jumping out of the lake. Good job! screenshot.png

Blackout by Frasse 2021-04-28T20:48:00Z

It's a masterpiece! Amazing puzzles, humor, art, music and mood. Reminded me of classic Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island P&Cs. Really well done, one of the top games I've played so far in this jam!

A Taste of the Past by Emily Pitcher 2021-04-28T15:42:38Z

Amazing story and mood, very touching! Really beautiful art, music and great voice acting. It's so much more than just a jam game. It can actually help people to go through a loss of a loved one. Hope you will take it further. Really great job!

PANEMUAN by etrealjunior 2021-04-28T21:24:26Z

Great experience! Very good story, art and mood. I really liked the music too. Even though it felt that the speed of the character was a bit too slow, the idea was well delivered. You might want to work on that in the future, to make the animation fit the character movement speed. But overall, good game and you've done a great job!

Hello, user. by Totteri 2021-04-30T17:03:51Z

Very intriguing indeed! Even though I didn't hear any sounds, the mood was very good. I really wish a bit more of the backstory has been revealed, as right now it feels way too open-ended. But overall, it was really great and liked the idea a lot. Well done!

Crust by exopunk 2021-05-04T20:23:11Z

Very polished game! Great original game mechanics. Gets a bit too complex for my taste but it would get boring without a challenge, right? Amazing art and sounds create great mood. A tutorial is a nice touch to the player experience. Very solid entry, great job!

Granny Goes Deep by universeflow 2021-05-08T17:10:51Z

Wow, this is amazingly polished! Love the interpretation of the theme. Apart from my own, yours is the only entry I've encountered to use the falling mechanics. Now I see how it can be implemented by a team of specialists and it's really amazing! Great graphics, cinematics, amazingly fitting audio, hilarious lines, great voice acting and quite a fun gameplay. I kind of wish there was a bit more to do there than just pressing Space before landing. But I did enjoy the wallslide! Awesome job!

Go to the Abyss by Felipe Felix 2021-05-08T17:27:37Z

Very good content and level design! Well done creating all these levels, it was fun. Could be more polished, but seems like you went for quantity rather than quality. Appreciated the story, was quite intriguing to discover it. Great job!

To The Core by Tubertz 2021-05-01T17:43:54Z

Great job for a first jam game! Very nice graphics, pleasant music and fun to play. I just wish it wouldn't reset all the progress after just one death. Are levels procedurally generated?

EveryDay by xpoho 2021-05-01T18:40:06Z

Very good idea! I really liked the sound and the mood, very good visual and audio story telling. But it felt a bit too open-ended, never quite knowing what you're supposed to do and whether it's the end of the game or not and why exactly certain things are happening. But I guess that's exactly what you were going for. To sum up, could be polished more but overall, very interesting out-of-the-box approach and very unusual and fun game. Great job!

Graphite Journey by pnkvrt 2021-04-28T20:13:12Z

Great original graphics! Very nice small game. I would be looking forward to more diverse gameplay for that great graphics in the future. Great job, keep it up!

DrillDrill: The Quest for Diamonds by Hoeleboele 2021-04-30T20:13:18Z

Wow, very creative idea, haven't seen anything like that before! It works really well and can be expanded further by introducing some new power ups and blocks. Really great art, love the trees and diamonds. The character is unexpectedly minimalistic but still adorable. Overall, the game is really well-done and complete.

I only had one thing bugging me. The balance was a bit off and the game was too easy. Diamonds were piling up and I had to just wait for the red line to fall further. Maybe it would make sense to separate score from the currency? Also, if you buy too many bounce upgrades you bounce way too high. What I though would be cool was to have some pickups and obstacles also going on in the clouds. So it would be not just a drill but a drill with an umbrella hat or something like that

Anyway, really great job for a solo game! Impressive!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-02T19:39:36Z

Totally amazing game! Loved the pixel art details and the music. Certainly one of the best games in this jam.

Ludu Hare and the Magical Carrot by Mighty Mufflon Games 2021-05-01T18:09:23Z

Great game! It felt a bit rough at first because there was no tutorial about what you need to do to complete a level and how you're supposed to beat the enemies. So I had to get to the end of the first level just to realize that I need to go back and find every single mole, which was weird. but once you figure out the rules of the game it's quite straight forward and fun. Having two full levels and a boss fight was really impressive. The ending has very rewarding and fun, I really loved it! Definitely, it could be a bit more polished but given the amount of content, it's understandable. Graphics and audio are really good leading to a nostalgic retro platformer mood.

To sum up, amazing job on all parts! For the future, I would recommend also to focus a bit more on player experience (tutorial, menu and such) and polishing the existing mechanics (visual and audio feedback on hitting the enemy or being hit, making sure you don't have blind jumps from a platform into a lava or spikes that player can't predict and such). For game jams, it's usually fine to sacrifice an extra level to make the game feel more complete and easy to play.

Thanks a lot for making this fun game!

Rolling In The Deep by KAPA6UH 2021-04-30T15:45:56Z

Really great visuals, especially the water. Sound effects fit really well, would be nice to add some ambient music as well. Controls are interesting but currently there is not much point in using the launcher and just using backfire from shooting is easier. One wild idea would be to make this game turn-based and limit the number of turns. So it's gonna be something like golf in a very unusual setting. Overall, the game mechanics felt pretty smooth and it was fun to play through several levels. Amazing job for a solo game! Looking forward to see it as a complete mobile game.

Deep Sewers by Turtle Games 2021-04-28T20:58:15Z

Interesting idea and really nice graphics and sound. Liked the vacuuming but kind of expected a bit more diversity from it. Pretty solid base game that could benefit from an unexpected twist. Well done!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Dungeon Solitaire by Lex 2018-04-30T20:14:40Z

The best game here I've played so far. Kept me busy for a couple of days already. Reminds me of good old Gravity Defied, where I used to go through the same level over and over again without ever getting bored until I finally make it and feel like succeeding in the biggest challenge in my life. The idea is original, well-implemented and polished. The only thing I miss is a soundtrack, but otherwise everything's there. I'm pretty sure it could make an amazing game if you develop it further and add some more features to keep the player busy for longer. I'm really impressed that you managed to come up with it just in 2 days.
