After you came and reviewed my game I had to return the favour :) Nice little puzzle game, it reminds me of the N game with the little ninja stick man. Seems like I never enough section cards though :(

@Scrumplesplunge You can actually place nerf/buff cards on empty rooms. They'll get activated once a layout is placed.
I really like the building your own level idea. Although I'm not great at platformers so this one was pretty hard! It would be could do have some kind of reward for completing a section that had 3+ traps in it. Overall this is a really fun and innovative game!
I really like the game. I don't think I've ever seen a game where you can build your own dungeon
really nice idea and super fun! the animations for the player character where cute! :D
Man this is hard! The way the cards affect certain rooms and trying to make sure you don't play a card that would make it impossible to do that room is interesting! Good job!
I wasn't able to finish the game because I got two sets of double saws, after I'd already placed single saws on two of the final three levels. So I wasn't able to finish the game. But I did get through the entire deck, except for the one double saw card that was impossible to place.
The animation on the player is fantastic, and the general aesthetic - though it's split down the middle with a half classic flash game, half old windows solitaire background - works quite well.
The game could also probably do with some better labels on the "exit" and "restart" buttons - I assumed the reset button was a "draw a new hand" button and lost a lot of progress.
Aside from the randomly unfinishable scenario though, I do really like this game. Between the dash, the double jump, the well-balanced levels, and the tight platforming controls, I was able to get through some fairly ridiculous challenges.
I like how the last three levels of the game have to be finished in one go; it gives the ending a bit of a boss level feeling. And I like how the spikes and saws have various tiers of difficulty.
If there's anything I would add to the game it'd be a few metacards: redraw hand, discard card, skip one level. Have them come up very rarely to get the player out of particularly impossible situations. But that's a consideration for if you ever want to expand on the game; it's solid as it is.
All in all, I'm impressed. This is a very polished and satisfying title to play. Keep up the good work.
P.S. - While the other dungeon solitaire isn't as good a game, it's probably more deserving of the title than you are. I mean, where are there dungeons here?
Wow! It's a really good game! Solid design. A bit random but it's a solitaire after all. I beat it in 3 attempts and every time I made my card impossible to pass I knew it was my fault. Great job!
@amras0000 Thanks for the very constructive comment! I added a confirmation before you reset and quit the game, a lot of my friends also complained "I thought it was the redraw button". So yea... I guess my whole UI is a bit messy.
About the name I guess I was just tired and without any good ideas.
A really good game design!
The best game here I've played so far. Kept me busy for a couple of days already. Reminds me of good old Gravity Defied, where I used to go through the same level over and over again without ever getting bored until I finally make it and feel like succeeding in the biggest challenge in my life. The idea is original, well-implemented and polished. The only thing I miss is a soundtrack, but otherwise everything's there. I'm pretty sure it could make an amazing game if you develop it further and add some more features to keep the player busy for longer. I'm really impressed that you managed to come up with it just in 2 days.
@Mykola Stop it, you're making me blush here...
Fun little game. Kept me busy for quite some time.
This is the first Ludem Dare game that I enjoyed as a game instead of this is impressive for 72 hours. You should polish and add more content to this game and you could probably sell it. I love this game! heres my game if you would like to check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/unnamed-game
could probably sell it. I love this game!
@bryyrt Actually it took me 42 hours, haha. And yea, I've been thinking that if it gets a good grading I might turn it into a full game with different decks and stuff.
@lex I would pay 1-5 dollars if it was developed into a full game. It's really fun
This game was a lot of fun. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did it was a fun challenge to place cards and create a reasonable route.
I got a bit confused by the ending; it kind of felt like the game should keep going on. Once I figured out that I had to place all my cards, I was able to win.
Some music and more interesting art could make this really great. A story-line could be added in as well, something kind of like Hand of Fate's.
Great concept, hope i see the full version sometime.
That is a great idea! I certainly got into a few really hard situations, some of which may have been impossible, but it feels like if I get to know the spawn points on the cards I would figure it out. I love your idea of expanding with more decks and ways to play. I can definitely see this as game that can be expanded a ton, making your own challenge decks for you or your friends to play, kind of like Hand of Fate. Very well done!
This game is amazing! Put this out with controller support and I would play it for hours!
Awesome game! It was really cool to play cards on rooms, especially on rooms in advance. It was annoying when some card combinations made it seemingly impossible and the only thing to do was reset, maybe there could be a max number of lives? Also, I liked how the last 3 rooms became a gauntlet where you had to beat all 3 rooms at a time!
Simply put, this is 2 great tastes that taste great together. It almost feels like a tactical meat boy. Just a really clean, excellent little game design. This idea has legs.
Quite innovative, I love the snappy control and old-school-ish graphics (although some sprites and audio seemed out of place, it reminded me of the good old windows 2000 games!) Also love the mechanic - surprisingly well implemented and balanced. Good work!
It has great potential, but some elements still lack. It was really enjoyable though. Good work.
Perfect combination and really creative concept. I have really enjoyed this game, however it can be very hard :) And it seemed to me that you can easily run to the 'dead end' and you need to restart the game. But as in solitaire, this can happen. Love it :) Great job, great fun
I played this game for half a hour. After servral dies, I finally finish it! Sometimes it really randomize bad cards that I cannot go through anyway. But this is a very nice game with great gameplay and perfect combination of two genres. I really love this game.
really good combination and innovation, I like it. And the potential behind with all the differents cards that can be added later... Really really great compo, nice work !
Really good! I love how the last three levels end up really hard if you're not careful about using up some of the dangerous cards/noticing what combos of cards are really difficult. Some I'm not sure how to get around - could never get past that room on the right here - hellplatform.png (restarted and got a better layout!)
Awsome work! Really enjoyed playing and planning my deck. Could use some way to move card to the end of the stack, since sometimes i ended up on unbeatable level.
I downloaded windows 64 bit version and all the cards were basic: Solitare.jpg
@Linkwin Omg, it was supposed to be a joke with a friend of mine who wasn't able to beat the game, I guess I zipped the wrong build and sent to itch.io while doing the last hotfix. Hahahaha.
Sorry about that, should be fixed by now, thanks for reporting.
@tifu This one?

@lex yeah, I wasn't meaning it wasn't possible, just that I couldn't manage it ^^
Really interesting concept and great implementation! I love that sometimes I just can't finish the game and need to restart all the game from the beginning, just like the actual solitare game. =)
Very cool concept! And well executed too. This could definitely be expanded on with more time.
Nice little game, I like the concept very much, It was I bit hard, or I was really bad at it. :-) I love the graphics! good job!
Great concept! I enjoyed the combination of sort of solitaire and platforming. The buffs/debuffs were a nice touch in addition to the obstacles. Check out our game too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/sneakbeat
This is like a really interesting puzzle game, well done!
Good concept I like it so much! Good work! Probably with more cards and posibilities can be interesting full game! :D
I loved it! I don't think I've seen anything familiar. This is great. While I agree the graphics fit and look smooth I think this game would be played and would look fantastic giving it a bit of soul. Somewhat explaining why you have to choose the cards and really setting the character and I'm sure you could release this at least for phones. It's fantastic. I would love to see this one expanded. I can't help myself thinking how this would look after a few months of development. Cute pixel art, different characters, environments. I think this game made me think the most about it's potential during this LD41. Really inspired me here. Great work!
I was really impressed when I fired up this game. You must've taken a decent amount of time to design up each level and all the iterations/positions of obstacles that can be in there. I thought this was a great concept and would be cool if you could affect your deck a bit like purchasing different level layouts and buffs to help you get through things later on and have some progression.
I really liked zoning out to this game. Everything flows very nicely and it's just as difficult as you make it yourself. Not only is it mechanically a platformer and solitaire game, but I think it really captures the essence of those games as well.
I really enjoyed my time this game! played through it twice, and it didn't feel repetitive despite only finite amount of cards available. I particularly enjoyed the gamble element of adding debuffs to rooms before you know what room cards you're going to get next. The controls were clean, and really original and enjoyable! The "have to play a card" mechanic was really incompatible with platformer element - meaning it caused problems - therefore that's really inline with the theme brief! GJ!
After seeing it on @honest-dan 's stream and I had to give it a bash and I'm glad I did - what a great, fun game!
The movement is great except there's a bit too much lerping when stopping (at least it felt like that) and the running gets reset on death so the player has to let go of the button and press it again. The card icons are swell and the visual feedback lovely. I think, though, a black and white only treatment could suit the stickman visuals better. Overall it's a great entry.
P.S. I managed to rate the game just 1 minute before the deadline
Congratulations this was one of my absolute favorite games and I NEED you to make it even better. This is a real gem and should be pursued further.
