This is a neat little puzzle game. It takes a bit to get a hang of how you're impacting the blobs, but once you do, it's just a matter of patience and herding. It's a cool mechanic, and I could see a lot more levels of it.
This is really really good! Didn't even realize you could attack until the second go. It was all really well done, and the music was solid. Great job!
It's got a super groovy tune. I really liked the music. Could have used more sound effects, but the music was great. The cooking controls were somehow difficult to understand at first, but it was a serviceable enough solution to make it work. All in all it's a really fun entry!
Great graphics and music! Really moody and conceptually neat. The animations were also really well done, and the controls felt nice and tight. Great job!
There's some cool stuff going on here. I like the mix of racing and more tactical elements, and would like so see more of that. Great job on a really neat prototype!
This was a fun little entry. Not a lot to the play mechanics, but a neat quick game. Good music, too. Great job!
@spthiel it's not the best strategy to just throw cards, as the other dude can just block 'em and build up their stack. You can catch them off guard and stun them, though, which can be something of a strategy maybe. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback!
@joemid thanks! I did it with Gamemaker: Studio
@saoi-games sorry I missed the Twitch, but thanks so much for giving it a play! The resolution was quite small, and I should have done more to make it scalable in the windows version. I agree with the card artwork falling short as well. The best version is the html version, but sounds like you got the true Compo entry. Regarding the theme, the two genres I intended to mix were card and 2d-fighting game. Chess was only in it as a ready-made roster of characters and had no influence on gameplay. Multiplayer was new for me, and I'm glad you like it. Thanks again!
@deltanutmeg @gi11 @cyrdach @lukbebalduke @erikkire @irwatts @dignifiedweb @ponchoguy @loudrasiel thanks so much for the awesome feedback. Sorry it took me so long to reply. Your positive words are very appreciated and encouraging. Thanks for playing!
Simply put, this is 2 great tastes that taste great together. It almost feels like a tactical meat boy. Just a really clean, excellent little game design. This idea has legs.
This is really well done. It's tough and not a little frustrating, which seems pretty right given the circumstances. A great entry and a fun little game. Got some really funky grooves, too. Well done!
Those robots were really bloody. This was a fun little game.
Though both of the different genres of games were working, I couldn't tell how they were actually connected in terms of actual play, besides the theme of playing cards. There didn't seem any motivation to actually play the poker game, as none of the guys want to play with me anyway. They're too busy pacing. And so am I, because pacing seems like the thing to do. It's pretty easy to just dart through the level, haphazardly Gambitting hoodlums for their hard-earned chips. Anyway, some more connection between the individual games would have been nice.
The audio is so good. I couldn't tell if I was supposed to be able to actually hit the balls with my racket, but it really didn't matter because the audio was amazing and I was ruining those fools. Great job on the game!
Incredibly well done! You nailed it with the music and creepy sounds throughout, which is the really spooky part of any survival horror experience. The turn-based mechanics with the limited view and no minimap were also all really good choices really well executed. And that ending just brought it all home. Bravo!
This is a really neat idea with really charming graphics. I may have missed something, but I was wondering if there was some way to apply the level ups to additional skills. Besides that, very cool. Great job!
Great music. I couldn't quite figure our how the die roll and the turn timing synced up. I think I get what you are going for, though, and it's a really neat way to operate a turn-based system. And it fit really well with the setting. Great work!
