LD33 — You are the Monster

The Monster I Am by KilledByAPixel 2015-08-25T14:34:00

Jumping into planes is awesome! Player health could be messaged a little more visibly and movement floats around some when trying to make sharp turns, but jumping into planes and pulling down buildings is sweet!

World Eater by EnkiBye 2015-08-28T13:50:00

The Game of Life feels different when you are flying around inside it and consuming everything in your path! The sound and graphics worked well. I thought the UI felt a little janky, but that is very hard to nail in such a short time frame.

FIRE WORM by lonestar 2015-08-25T13:50:00

Cool graphics and fun gameplay. Impacts have a nice weight to them and I like the faces the worm makes!

Gluttony by monstersauce 2015-08-25T14:05:00

I like the mood and color! I didn't realize why the game was ending until a few tries, so the sunrise effect could probably be better messaged.

Snake Strike by steve 2015-08-28T14:16:00

Movement and animation feel awesome! I would definitely play a full featured version of this.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Milgram by Kortuga 2015-12-14T07:18:00

Other than minor mouse targeting issues, this was fantastic. Voice acting may be first pass, but there is a surprising amount of it and it messaged fine. Awesome style!

GrowingTrees by jomacel 2015-12-14T02:45:00

Cool! It feels smooth and intuitive but still challenging. Looks good too!

Beardgrow by esayitch 2015-12-14T06:38:00

This is great! I wasn't very good at avoiding those bullies though. Awesome presentation.

Growy the Flowy by Optimus6128 2015-12-14T03:24:00

Nice flowing art. I really like the fire effect upon impact!

Berry Thorny by KilledByAPixel 2015-12-14T20:03:00

Really polished work! Controls feel great and the sense of speed is messaged well. Jumping felt just a little too weighty but that is a minor gripe. Materials and FX feel juicy. The destructible obstacles convey weight well when you hit them and I actually wanted to smash them just for fun. The berries should have an even more satisfying pop to convince me to hit them instead!

Swarm Hunter by HuvaaKoodia 2015-12-14T04:54:00

Controls felt like they were fighting me, but I really liked the art and mood. Bugs were satisfying to crunch too.

Swarm by NaoisTheGuardian 2015-12-14T06:52:00

This has an cool mood to it and an interesting mechanic. I wasn't sure when I was doing things right, but I suppose that may be the point with a swarm of fish attempting to survive.

Ludum Party! by FuzzyWuzzie 2015-12-14T05:14:00

Wow. The scope of this is impressive and it's pretty fun too. Great job!

Vine Simulator by paradxil 2015-12-14T06:14:00

Really cool! Audio wasn't working for me, but I had a pretty zen experience anyway. This could be expanded into an awesome sandbox.

Crystonal by Kapura 2015-12-14T05:26:00

I like the concept and mechanics though it does start off quite difficult. The colorful graphics were pleasant, but the audio was harsh and annoying at times.

Need For Seed: Undergrowth by RhythmLynx 2015-12-14T05:52:00

Great presentation! I was unclear of my goals until the game over screen, but still enjoyed the experience.

Infinite Tower by Eduardo 2015-12-14T03:30:00

Seems challenging but fair!

Solito by Nooner Bear 2015-12-14T06:44:00

Fantastic look and feel. Fun to play and the collapse at the end is satisfying to watch. Excellent work!

Grow by Dimitri0xFF 2015-12-14T04:38:00

This is by far the best plantlice sim I've tried.

BEAR by graceavery 2015-12-14T06:22:00

Great art, silly dancing enemies, blood explosions and an emBEARassing amount of puns. Well done.

Power Disney Princess Simulator 5000 by socapex 2015-12-14T03:47:00

Cool atmosphere! The floating white boxes were a little confusing and frustrating when the cats got all stuck in them. I really liked the art and mood in this.

Libellule Paradise by SvenFrankson 2015-12-14T05:06:00

Once I realized I needed to hold both A and D to rise, I had a lot of fun. The timers on the coins are a nice mechanic. Great work!

Super Spacesquids by timsjostrand 2015-12-14T04:23:00

Great art! Punishing but I liked it. I also enjoyed reading the console log. ouch!

INDAGO -- The Search by ShadedVertex 2015-12-14T07:06:00

I like the concept! It definitely induced some uneasiness when I hit the wall on the edge of the map and then when it filled in. Making it quicker to reload might help streamline the frustration and keep people playing longer.

Are you grown? by Rfdshir 2015-12-14T02:53:00

This felt like an interactive short film. Well done!

Rolling Snow by ProgramYourFace 2015-12-14T06:05:00

A familiar concept but well executed and I had fun. It fits both themes too!

Roll-Ball by mukult 2015-12-14T06:30:00

Fun game with good FX and a polished feel. Camera angle was a little odd, but it didn't seem to hinder me. Audio was a little too sharp on the ears at times though.

Feed Me by snowshovelboy 2015-12-14T04:07:00

Awesome soundtrack and clever control mechanics!

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Forever Someday by TheOneThatNeverWas 2016-08-30T01:10:00

The scoring was fantastic, each scene had its own atmosphere, and everything felt quite honest. Great work!

Hypozomata by uvwar 2016-08-30T01:51:00

The art and concept are really cool. I liked the hoard of soldiers chasing me down, but I definitely got lost multiple times, and there was no easy way to restart. The low resolution of the opening movie also dampened an otherwise awesome intro.

CaveThumb by joelthebergman 2016-08-30T02:28:00

Cool premise! I wasn't able to kill the mammoth. :(

Pyramid Dissemble by luquio 2016-08-30T01:16:00

The graphics and awesome music create a really cool foreboding mood!

Sky Road by crazyrems 2016-08-30T02:40:00

This is so cool! Flying feels and sounds great. Everything about this is awesome except for it being unfinished. I'd love to play a full version that takes advantage of the flying and landing aspect.

Anzu: Revelation by Polith Games 2016-08-30T03:34:00

I love the title art! Everything feels very polished and complete. The invisible paintings were a nice touch. Good job!

Topeka Jones: Raider of the Lost Temple by TeamKawaiiju 2016-08-30T04:56:00

I'm not sure if I'm too dumb or it's a bug, but I can't get past the first room. The xylophone can be a little difficult to highlight as well. The art looks pretty though, everything feels nice and I want to get to them coins!

Voxel of Evil by Eniimal 2016-08-30T01:31:00

The fibers in the static add a unique feel! The camera placement felt like actual cameras could be there. Overall I really like the style, but the lack of rotation when moving forward was more frustrating than tense. I didn't get very far in multiple tries due to the restrictive movement.

LD37 — One room

Poorot by Kurakurt 2016-12-13T03:34:00

Awesome graphics and fun mood! Got pretty tough later as I had to trial and error my way through traps, which isn't so bad given the quick restart. I'd like to see a level counter somewhere so I know how far I've gone!

Holo by Galan 2016-12-14T02:28:00

Cool premise and art style! Once I realized I was moving forward while attacking, I did much better. I did have some issues with the mouse look controls being too sensitive in the horizontal axis, and when I would circle strafe, the camera would judder a bit which was odd. Audio was also a little sharp to the ears.

Steamjunk Racers Nine Thousand by mmason 2016-12-13T03:56:00

Really pleasant mood and cool mechanics! I wish I could see further in front of me though.

Lair by DireGoose 2016-12-13T03:43:00

Cool atmosphere and premise! I had a hard time lining up shots at first but eventually it clicked and it became pretty satisfying.

Lost In The Dance by Lukeryn 2016-12-13T08:07:00

Beautiful graphics! Unfortunately I could not get into the story and I promptly got myself stuck in the world geometry.

flwr truss plus by wscones 2016-12-13T07:41:00

I really like how the input awkwardness compliments the mood!

Solitude (VR) by neon 2016-12-13T04:39:00

So tranquil! I loved watching everything grow around me. The palette mechanics worked great, though it was a little difficult to remember which each color linked to.
I was able to play using an Oculus Rift after laying on the floor and resetting my view from there. Not quite as clean as an ini tweak but it worked! :)

Escape The Room by egordorichev 2016-12-13T07:17:00

I loved the entire presentation! The line-of-sight lighting is awesome, and everything read well. I also ran into the horizontal push boxes in vertical hallways issue on the third level and couldn't proceed. Money was probably a little too abundant, though I did enjoy finding all of them.

The Odd Inn by Gabriel Bucsan 2016-12-14T03:07:00

I also had the issue where I couldn't serve the vikings even when touching them and pressing Q or E. The atmosphere was great! The dancing goblins were a nice touch. I really liked the mechanic of controlling two characters at once!

Oni 'Room by madlee 2016-12-13T05:41:00

Nice work! I like how the camera moves in with repeated attacks!

Non Euclidean Room by NuSan 2016-12-12T06:53:00

Sweet post shader! The audio was good, though the sound when activating the switches was a little sharp on the ears. Overall great work!

Line Them Up by Geti 2016-12-13T04:59:00

Sweet pixel art! The mode switching transition could message a little better, but the mechanic is cool. I didn't get very far due to the webpage constantly scrolling from the arrow keys, so enabling WASD for movement as well would be nice!

Put It Out by conradte3 2016-12-13T07:57:00

Looks and feels great! I got 90 seconds on my best.

Bare Knuckle Gladiators by 2Bit 2016-12-13T15:25:00

Great feeling of impact! Played all the way through. I agree with DalesDiscountTires that multiplayer would be awesome!

Sign by VersatileBox 2016-12-13T06:12:00

I'll be thinking about this one for a while I am sure. I blinked a couple times typing this.

Softlock by MCRewind 2016-12-13T06:55:00

Fantastic music! I also think the game is better with a keyboard or d-pad. I kept sliding to the side of things accidentally with the controller stick.

rotomanor by jelch 2016-12-13T06:30:00

This is awesome. Cool traversal mechanic. The start text moving was a little difficult to focus on though. I also think I glitched in between two sets of doors and got stuck. Wicked music! I've just been listening to it on loop for a while now.

The Fishing Cabin by sreal 2016-12-13T06:20:00

This is super charming and I love it. If I could replace my desktop wallpaper with this, I would.

37 Hours In A Room by doppelgunner 2016-12-13T06:01:00

The embedded web player is causing mouse click inputs to be lost and clipping the top and bottom of the screen. Playing in fullscreen almost completely fixes the control responsiveness. The combat could use more feeling of impact. Also that music loop is really annoying, so something more neutral might work better. I like the prop destruction! Congrats on finishing your first LD!

Mafishia by haxxero 2016-12-13T05:22:00

Man I spent way too long playing this. I love the hats!

Fish Physics by avalkyrie 2016-12-13T03:03:00

Once I realized what was going on I had fun trying different combinations out to see how the game would react. The music added a unique atmosphere too!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

ImpScape by Arvydas Zemaitis 2017-12-05T01:53:51Z

This felt so complete and consistent. Graphics and music were great. The chest opening progress bar was awesome. I had a little trouble activating the ready button, and some slow down when attacking, but otherwise quite polished. Well done!

Caring Too Much by Stephano 2017-12-04T15:32:18Z

Interesting take on the theme! Graphics were clean and readable, and I liked the character animations. The ramp up in spawns was hectic but the difficulty surpassed my ability to keep up.

Loom by jasontherand 2017-12-05T02:04:38Z

The key bind switching is really cool. I could see an entire puzzle game making use of these mechanics. I had fun playing around with it. Awkward but neat!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Superstar by mahalis 2018-12-05T00:53:22Z

Lovely graphics! The color choices make everything very readable the lighting is pleasant on the eyes. The floppy arms added a nice whimsical feel. Controls worked pretty well, though I also hit the acceleration issue when you go below the screen. Being able to restart would be a plus. Well done!

Entry for 43rd Ludum Dare by burnedkirby 2018-12-04T03:16:50Z

The music is awesome! The character is a little sluggish and can't keep up with the beat though. It makes restarting from the beginning much more annoying.

Greedy Slime by irwatts 2018-12-05T04:14:36Z

@blobo Thank you! I intended for you to be able to jump in the air, but bypassing the doors is a pretty funny oversight!

@patvanmackelberg Thank you for playing! Exploiting the levels was unintended but is pretty fun to do anyway. I overscoped the size of the level on this one for sure!

@jimmothysanchez Thanks! I am pretty happy with the look of the slime. :)

@codekim Thank you for noticing the coins! I did notice some spazzy behavior myself but couldn't debug it in time. The slime is mostly rendered in a custom material node containing a raymarch shader. The custom node takes the all the bone locations as inputs and renders them as a bunch of spheres unioned together with an smin function. Then it calculates analytical normals, and uses that information to light it. Lighting, fresnel, and opacity is packed and output back into the standard UE4 material for coloring and refraction. The brute force method I used to populate the bone locations is far from ideal however. If you look in the source, the material M_SlimeRaymarched contains it all.

Dungeon Runer by Andrea 2018-12-04T01:45:03Z

Super cool! Probing the game to figure stuff out was fun. It added a layer of mystery and perceived complexity. The slow ticking tile movement of the enemies brought back some memories.

Quest For Gory by Erasmus Crowley 2018-12-04T02:33:21Z

Killer atmosphere! All the systems worked about as I'd expect in an adventure game. I agree with Sargonius that highlighting items on mouse over is nice. Drag and drop for items on the bar would also be a nice QOL improvement if you continue development. Overall impressive amount of work for the timeframe!

The Happy Prince by Jisam 2018-12-05T01:02:39Z

Wow this is tough! I appreciated the ability to skip to the next level after almost hitting the goal so many times. The art has an interesting feel to it that I like, adding a bizarre atmosphere. Being the bird is cool.

Boits by torquilmacleod 2018-12-04T04:45:43Z

Cool take on boids flocking! I do feel that everything could be a little larger by default, but I liked the style.

Alien Escape by carlpilot 2018-12-04T03:02:03Z

Beautiful graphics! I hoarded 30 coconuts and swam to the edge of the world, where I found salvation in the infinite void. Pausing the game in the crafting menu would be nice, as the initial read can doom you!

Pull Yourself Together by Brevitius 2018-12-04T01:22:22Z

Made it out intact! The changes in maneuverability as you collect parts was neat. Checkpoints were appreciated and seemed well placed. I never had far to travel after restarting. Kept me intent on getting to the next spot, and when I escaped without being fully assembled, I just had to go back and collect the rest of the parts. Glad I did!

LD44 — Your life is currency

SPENDOTRON: 2019 by KilledByAPixel 2019-05-01T00:47:33Z

Hey Frank! Excellent work here. That respawn feels juicy! Colors and symbols are all on point. The bullet trails are sweet. Controls feel great. Sounds add a nice tactile feel without getting annoying (The cue played when enemies move does sound a little like interference though). The one issue I had was the hit box corners for enemies clipping me when I thought I was out of range. Nice punishing difficulty that made me want to get better! currencyWarsHighScore.png

I love it!

Royal Blood by Hi Im Greg 2019-05-01T01:19:29Z

This is awesome guys! I love the charming low poly art. The animations are great and the blood extractor states made me laugh! The minimap timeline is perfect. It got a little hectic managing the fires while building, but I pulled through and am now the King of the Blood Throne.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Princess Ribbon by Goutye 2020-04-20T19:45:00Z

This is great! Fun mechanics and well designed levels. The stats on the ending screen were a nice touch. Excellent work.

Boomin' Zoomin' Lil' Lamb by Hegemege 2020-04-21T17:21:05Z

I like the dithered shading style! Boosting felt good and I enjoyed bounding about.

Dram Fireth by ded 2020-04-21T21:34:31Z

Awesome art! The high contrast works well to convey the harsh atmosphere. Really cool mood. Those fire sounds tho

pod by irwatts 2020-04-23T14:59:38Z

@zevsehg The sine wave is rendered in a shader by smoothstepping a distance function (smoothstep(0.01, 0.005, abs(uv.y-0.5+(sin(uv.x\*frequency)\*amplitude)))). It has variable thickness because I didn't implement distance estimation (https://www.iquilezles.org/www/articles/distance/distance.htm).

FireKeeper by EntityNull 2020-04-21T00:29:56Z

Incredible mood and atmosphere with matching sound design. I kept feeding the flames not know what to do, but it was a cool ride.

Rebutia by 43sam 2020-04-20T23:32:07Z

Great looking pixel art, rocking background music. The presentation on this is awesome and the game felt punishing but good. Wicked!

F E E D by Delightfullymad 2020-04-20T16:53:25Z

Love the art and theme! Being able to push cultists out of the way would be nice, but it did add a punishing element to letting things get out of hand.

Crater Critters by Jimanzium 2020-04-21T20:19:06Z

I thought the relaxed pacing was fitting. Happy to have freed my critters.

Root Quest by thebreakfast 2020-04-21T20:36:56Z

Very unique! I love the sound of the root growing. Great feeling controls and presentation.

ECG - Electro Cardio Goblins by samot.cebukaj 2020-04-21T17:35:28Z

Unique mechanics! It was difficult to predict where it would go, but I really like the concept.

Rememberance by Enya454 2020-04-21T01:07:16Z

Out there premise with a detective puzzle? Sweet. Got some Obra Dinn vibes at a couple points. Well done.

Gooperworm by BloodpulpGames 2020-04-20T20:38:03Z

Love the style and colors. Good game feel, though sometimes the worm would overshoot the movement and mess up my aim. I'll admit I shot egg.

Elvis In The woods by Hakro 2020-04-20T22:06:44Z

Cool lighting and mood! Elvis was responsible for some serious deforestation that night.

Lil'Jones and the Diamond Egg by SolidHinken 2020-04-20T19:29:16Z

Cool style and fun level design! The only issue I had was Lil Jones pushing crates around when I didn't want him to.

Game of Life+ by Teo Miklethun 2020-04-21T18:29:38Z

Great job at turning Life into a puzzle! I couldn't stop playing.

Tarvun by Baptiste Guerin 2020-04-21T00:07:51Z

Love the art and atmosphere! The character felt a bit sluggish turning though, making combat a bit difficult, and I wished I could skip the dialog after multiple attempts. Overall very cool.

ALL CAPS: The Incident at Puppy Canyon by KyMakesGames 2020-04-20T19:20:05Z

Cool typing game! I definitely underestimated the time it takes me to type special characters. Messaging for incoming attacks was clear and successful inputs were satisfying. Good work.

Ignited by The Blue Hatted 2020-04-20T22:17:03Z

Awesome! I didn't get to see any other players while I was in, but I built my fire very large. Cool concept and execution.

Reload by Waqar Naeem 2020-04-21T18:48:51Z

Congrats on your first game! I had fun driving around and blasting ants. Very playable. Keep it up!

KIA by CristiNemrak 2020-04-20T23:19:01Z

Haunting music and charming bees!

Tempo Rogue by NicoNeko 2020-04-21T21:03:38Z

This is excellent! The screen rotation can be a bit much, and I wish the beats looped a little better, but this is one of my favorites for sure. Having different music choices as power ups was really cool.

Man Need Fire by ABRDs 2020-04-20T17:28:02Z

I really enjoyed playing this. The music and art went well together and created a unique feel. I did get stuck once, but pressing escape reset me and I was able to continue to the end.

Kings Orders by BookerBlueJay 2020-04-20T17:00:51Z

Charming art and juicy timings. This felt great to play. I enjoyed the dialog from the king!

Shashou the Panda by Mark Kelly 2020-04-20T18:48:47Z

Love the dithered vista art and the happy bouncing panda! The music is catchy and sets a fun mood. I started it up again while writing this and was happily surprised to see my high score preserved! Well done.

Social Distancing For LadyBugs by mehrdadsh 2020-04-20T19:03:29Z

The failure sound gave me good laugh. Fun game. Congrats!

The Last Life by NiKKrope 2020-04-20T23:50:20Z

At first I thought the assault rifle had made everything trivial, but then the spawning sped up quite a bit! Reminds me a bit of Crimsonland, which I used to play a ton of. Cool!

Heat of the Moment by Uraffululz 2020-04-20T16:28:17Z

Cool heat sharing mechanic and humorous tone. I initially avoided the barriers because I thought they would make me colder.

Man's Best Friend by Schmolt 2020-04-21T00:39:05Z

Funny premise and sinister feeling art! The audio was a little harsh on the ears and camera movement a little too frenetic, but still cool.

Chaos by Sthealthinator 2020-04-21T18:38:05Z

I had fun with this as the chaos ramped up! The music was catchy, though it only played in one ear for me.

Retro Driver by TeamNova 2020-04-21T00:18:16Z

Great graphics and game feel! Police AI behaved as expected and impacts were very satisfying.

Across the Lake by stephan steinbach 2020-04-21T00:45:49Z

Wow! This is my favorite thing from the jam so far. Beautiful art, tranquil sound design, innovative concept. I love this.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Catching Shrooms by voidraizer 2020-10-05T06:18:40Z

Had fun with this, though I had some slowdown when loading the next loop. Getting closer and closer to hitting the target felt like good progression. A little fog could hide the loading of the next section when looping!

Around by mahalis 2020-10-05T01:14:50Z

Nice color palette and clean UI presentation! You had me at corgi. A little vertex animation on the dog would help it from feeling too static if standard animations are out of scope.

Unnatural Selection - Circle of Life by Robinerd 2020-10-05T20:06:17Z

I really love the music and mood in this. I'm still listening to it while writing this. Excellent work! It took some generations, but I managed to breed some fast moving creatures and collect all the orbs.

GREY MILK by sunnray 2020-10-06T18:18:33Z

FYI Windows security is flagging the exe as containing "Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.C!ml". Love the cereal background!

GREY MILK by sunnray 2020-10-07T21:49:32Z

The zip file worked fine for me. I had some fun with this! I thought the controls were interesting, though a UI element to help timing the momentum would be nice. I ended up slowly jumping most of the way, since gaining speed usually ended up with me slamming into something. I enjoyed the range of dialog choices!

Loop Industries by Simone 2020-10-05T01:46:14Z

Short and sweet, but fun. The text cracked me up, and while the movement was a little clunky, everything felt solid.

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T03:31:36Z

This is a great one! The vehicle handles as expected, aside from no reverse (Shouldn't be reversing anyway!). The skid marks, springy barrier poles, and UI stingers feel very nice. Well done!

while(true) by TomekS 2020-10-05T16:21:28Z

Love the mechanics of this! I had some technical issues with the web player though. Tile graphics weren't loading so I couldn't see the rocks and it became a memory game, but I really like the art in the screenshots. Performance was also a little sluggish, making typing feel less than ideal, but that could be my machine. A hotkey to move to the next level without touching the mouse would be a nice addition. Nice work overall!

while(true) by TomekS 2020-10-05T17:15:57Z

@albuquerque I had tried in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge with the same results. I just gave it another go in Vivaldi, and it worked fine! All the art loaded and everything was nice and smooth. Great game!

Loopstuck by Nobleboy 2020-10-05T19:32:26Z

It felt like I was playing a nightmare. From the unsettling player character, to the fever dream audio, this game is greasy. Controls seemed deliberately slippery, and I can respect that.

Bermuda Triangle by Humpert764 2020-10-07T22:28:04Z

Funny premise with satisfying ship magnets. I felt like the music was out of place though, and thought the mood was better without it. The ability to speed up the game was appreciated! Wave 2 was definitely a jump in difficulty!

Infinite rails by BOOtak 2020-10-05T20:34:03Z

This was a nice and relaxing puzzle. The wireframe style fits well. I would have played more levels if available. There were was at least one spot where the two arrows were so close that it was a bit difficult to see which was active. An indicator floating above the track might help message that better. Good work overall!

The Ring Of Happiness by JulienLussiez 2020-10-05T23:17:07Z

Love the voxel animations and storytelling style. Background music would definitely complete the experience. I had to see all the different story branches and enjoyed it all the way through!

Sloop by Martynas 2020-10-05T16:48:51Z

I had fun with this. Almost made it level 7 before dying. Being forced to switch between attacking and dodging adds some interesting flow. Quality felt consistent and the enemy hits were satisfying. Nice work!

Kosmosrunda by patetfisk 2020-10-05T18:42:29Z

This is near perfect to me. Feels great to play. Love the personality of the art. The music is awesome. The scene transitions are sweet. It didn't seem like I could restart from a controller, so reaching over to hit R was a bit awkward. The levels could also use a checkpoint or two, but this is an excellent entry!

Ghost Cubed by Patrick1 2020-10-05T02:27:35Z

Charming art and presentation. The postfx while recording look nice. I liked the chill music and ploop sound when you fall. Movement felt a little rough, like there was too much friction, but overall well done!

Looping Condor 3000 by Quinn_Patrick 2020-10-05T18:21:01Z

Great game feel and overall quality. The opening crawl made me smile, and I really liked the animation of the stars popping. The audio volume did feel a bit loud, but that's a minor gripe for an overall well done game!

Die with the spikes by JaviCoder 2020-10-05T16:33:08Z

The atmosphere and cinematic feel of this is great. Love the sand piled up in the corners. The safe tiles not actually forming a path feels strange though, and it forces you to just randomly click and memorize the path.

Fleder Flopin by Diefleder 2020-10-05T00:33:30Z

I was drawn in by the interesting name, but kept playing for the madness inside. It wasn't very apparent when new things were spawning in due to visual noise, but everything definitely got more hectic. I thought the music was catchy and fitting.

Stuck in a Loo by Xenon27 2020-10-05T04:51:57Z

This one made me laugh. Excellent interpretation of the theme. Game feel was on point, with a consistent quality. Using a combo of WASD and arrow keys yielded some hilarious maneuvers. Good shit!

Creatures of the Sky by WiredSound 2020-10-05T17:49:34Z

Even without sound this has great atmosphere. Got both endings, and though none of them made me happy, I appreciate the grim message.

Hudson by Dharby 2020-10-05T02:02:11Z

Super cool! I figured out the upgrades right before dying in my first run, but successfully escaped my second try. Innovative idea and solid execution. I couldn't find a way to exit without Alt-F4, but otherwise fantastic!

Binary Loop by Spiderhead20 2020-10-05T18:03:58Z

I really like the minimal art style. Everything read well and hazards were intuitive. Nice level design as well. I had some issues with the controls and collision at times though, and the footstep audio was a little piercing to the ears.

In The Loop by Luc-creationallabs 2020-10-05T03:09:50Z

Those juicy platform hit reactions feel great. Love the polish on this one. The difficulty ramped up pretty high for me, but it always felt like it was my fault. Well done!

Looped Fellas by BukkakeTears 2020-10-05T17:28:57Z

The presentation of this is incredible. Excellent graphics, audio, and mood. I laughed multiple times. Sometimes it felt like it didn't register as over the lighter section of the wheel though, like it was too strict on one side.

Seratonin Style by realman27 2020-10-05T17:05:16Z

Cool color palette and character style! I like the premise too, though it would be neat if the enemies were negative emotions like self doubt, helplessness, and dread, rather than headaches.

Mouseherd by typeswitch 2020-10-05T00:50:47Z

I loved this. The setting reminded me of one of my favorite puzzle games, Chu Chu Rocket, but the mechanics felt fresh. Charming art and presentation. WASD movement and being able to rotate the arrow in place would be nice polish, but great work!

Loopity Loop by JafCraze 2020-10-05T02:17:50Z

I found this unique and funny! The speed makes it a bit hard on the eyes to read the text, but I like the fusion of rail and memory puzzle gameplay.

Chrono Drift by Katherine Stark 2020-10-05T00:22:30Z

Cool parallax effect with the stars! This was more difficult for me than it initially seemed. I kept building up too much momentum, which would send me flying an unrecoverable distance.

Eternal Ember by dogtopius 2020-10-05T02:53:40Z

This is rather tranquil. I like little experiences like these that focus on one feeling. One thing that would be nice is an audio cue to reflect stoking the fire. Something like an ember cracking would help with input feedback.

Strange Planet by tengusheath 2020-10-05T03:49:30Z

I really love the art and little quips the character makes. Gameplay is great, and reminds me of Crimsonland. Music would definitely help the atmosphere, but this is excellent work!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Depths by irwatts 2021-04-27T21:39:05Z

@hi-im-greg Thanks Greg! I used Houdini to create the cave geo procedurally.

@elzach Thank you! I agree it's a little too short. I only had 24 hours to devote to it, and I noodled a bit too much on the eyeball.

@danvil Thanks! The camera rotation when looking straight down was something I wanted to address but couldn't get to in time unfortunately.

LD49 — Unstable

Mininum Viable Tower by smilewood 2021-10-05T04:36:33Z

I was just having fun blindly blowing things up until I realized what the actual goal was! The difficulty may be a bit too forgiving since I was able to bumble my way to the end. Cool!

It will Fall by jeremyfa 2021-10-05T13:50:07Z

Excellent work for 24 hours! I really like the choice of shapes, and the nested balancing act is really cool. Simple to get and feels great to play.

Unstable Relation by Mathiouza 2021-10-12T04:19:44Z

Impressive work for your first 3d game! Combining cutscene and gameplay is a task by itself. I initially failed hacking and slashing recklessly, but when I took things slower and played more like a Souls game, I succeeded. The choice of deer for characters is interesting, and the experience felt quite personal.

Crunda by LancesCaterpie 2021-10-05T05:02:16Z

Wow. This was truly a joy to play. So many nice details: the trees losing their leaves as you run through them, the satisfying thwomp and crack on the surface when you land, the fade to white at the end. Excellent work!

Tectonicalypse by alec 2021-10-12T04:38:44Z

Excellent music and presentation! Love the art and had a lot of fun overall. I do feel better, thank you very much!

Potion Trouble by Yorsh 2021-10-05T15:30:34Z

Love the nice touches like reactive grass and potion shader! First attempt I went in blind and didn't know what I was doing, but after reading the description instructions it became clear. Great job on the art and music!

Fuse by C1FR1 2021-10-04T23:50:14Z

Sweet shader! Controlling fire is a fun concept I'd like to see more of. I feel like the player blended in to the background fire a bit too much though. Changing the color just a bit, like increasing the intensity of the player fire toward white hot could help.

Un's charming table by DarthWaxus 2021-10-04T23:31:56Z

I was hoping someone would make this pun! I liked being able to enter the shop at any time, and discovering the effects of each item was fun. Hit messaging could be a little better, as I didn't initially realize I was doing any damage. I like the hand drawn art feel too!

Harmono by leon75 2021-10-05T14:09:57Z

Wow this is so cool! The idea is great and presentation is fantastic. I would add a little more messaging about what is effecting the stability though. Sometimes I thought I was doing well but I was still failing. I would love to play a full scale version of this with MIDI instrument support!

F%$#IN BIRDS! by Substain 2021-10-12T04:26:28Z

Cool concept and funny audio! Constantly yelling and blowing into the mic got exhausting but I am happy to have experienced this.

Contact Nesigur by Trexxak 2021-10-05T05:17:31Z

What a trip! I was pulled in by the interesting looking eyes, but stayed for the json editing, transparent game window, and fun commentary throughout the level. Very refreshing!

Gunslinger Glitch by ugly_robot 2021-10-04T23:17:36Z

Super innovative! Learning how to spot the AI better felt very compelling and satisfying. The lofi style compliments it well, and the music added a unique flavor that I enjoyed quite a bit!

Plate Spinner 2021 by StoicKekis 2021-10-05T13:18:33Z

This was indeed a stressful game. The premise combined with the music create an anxious mood that adds tension. I did find the game to get a little trivial when I realized you could just quickly spin each one in order. Bouncing the plates is a nice touch!

Reactor by RefraX295 2021-10-12T05:02:28Z

Cool puzzle sandbox! Controls were intuitive and the presentation felt nice. The music did get a bit repetitive though.

Nucleus by mrBell270 2021-10-04T22:52:34Z

Really awesome mood with this one. The SFX go so nicely with the ambient background, and compliments the graphics very well. I'd love to play this with an arcade spinner!

False Angel by Jonah_SRG 2021-10-05T15:16:57Z

Awesome style and colors! The art is really on point. I did get stuck on the second stage though. Hitting the wrong key and divebombing is a little too punishing I think. Difficulty aside, I think this feels very complete and polished. Good job!

Luna's Painful Pastel Promenade by GuessImLuna 2021-10-05T13:41:00Z

Love the style and game feel! Every fall I had only myself to blame. The trail effect looks a little off compared to the crunchy pixel style of the rest of the art though.

Werlds by badmuchachob 2021-10-05T04:17:50Z

Interesting mood! I got a bit woozy by the end and it might be a bit before I come down.

LD53 — Delivery

The Homunculus Vats by uvwar 2023-05-18T05:02:42Z

Fun looking homunculi! I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, but I enjoyed pulling out a ton of little abominations

De-Liver by benskca 2023-05-18T05:15:10Z

Awesome and unique take on the theme! The funny title and vibrant art drew me in, and I was impressed by the feeling of scope that the game has. It was a little unintuitive figuring out how to do things though. Nice work!

Olympus Food Delivery by SolidHinken 2023-05-09T02:14:49Z

Very smooth feeling game! The clouds were fun to launch from and the transitions to and from gameplay were really cool. Good job!

RogueLike Delivers by Ausstein 2023-05-05T05:45:21Z

This is great! The constant flow of permanent upgrades kept me playing for longer than I expected to. The low poly style fit nicely, and I enjoyed the delivery contents sliding around in the cart as I dragged it along. Sound would of course help the mood, but overall awesome job!

E.G.A.D.S. by floralvikings 2023-05-09T02:27:13Z

Was drawn in by the gnomes and stayed for the hand drawn art. Gliding mechanics felt smooth, tough but fair. I would have liked to be able to use WASD instead of the arrows, but I got used to it. Nice work!

Baby Delivery Service by delauraen 2023-05-05T05:16:22Z

Throwing babies at doors and windows was simple but funny! I'd like to have gotten a little more feedback when hitting the targets. I also think this would do well as an endless runner. Our team considered doing a paperboy style baby delivery game so it's cool to see it realized! Nice first time solo work!

PatMan by Freddie 2023-05-09T02:03:35Z

This is great! Played all the way through, and would keep playing. The checkpoints in level 4 felt a bit out of place, but if there were a few more levels in between that ramped them in, they would be expected. I also love the vocalized SFX, though the music did get pretty repetitive. I would definitely play more of this. Nice work!

Deadmail by vaps1k 2023-05-09T04:46:59Z

Gorgeous graphics, good sound and straightforward gameplay. The presentation on this is fantastic! I do wish there was a bit more to receiving and dropping off the mail, because the loop ends up feeling like ping ponging back and forth between goals. Great job overall!

LD54 — Limited Space

Incident on Outpost 17 by irwatts 2023-10-04T16:27:42Z

@jozgames Thank you!

@smoe @willianfhs Thanks! Unfortunately we ran out of time and couldn't get to audio for this one. Next jam!

@winter2277 Thank you!

@pinky-toast Nice job! Since we started with Lyra Starter Game, file size started pretty large and we didn't get a chance to reduce it.

@drlizard Thank you for the detailed feedback! We started with Epic's Lyra Starter Game template, so we inherited a pretty robust settings UI. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to flesh out the control options to the level we wanted.

@don-fouts Thank you!

@teashna Thank you for playing! We just added a new version 1.2 that gets mouse support working better.

@g33zer I think that's the high score so far! The menu system is something we inherited from the Lyra Starter Game template from Epic. That would indeed be quite the effort to accomplish over a weekend!

@don-shinski Thank you! We just added a new latest, 1.2, that fixes the turning issue you experienced.

@chengnan17 Thanks for playing! We couldn't get mouse support implemented fully in time for the jam edition, but our post-jam version has it working!

@steamhat Thank you for the feedback! Camera distance tuning is something we'll look at for future updates to the game. We wanted visibility to be a bit limited but it might be too much.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Critical Mass by Almax 2024-10-25T16:11:45Z

Excellent art and audio combine for a really cool mood! Love the music and the mysterious vibes. I'd love to see this expanded into a full game, with many strange rituals and behaviors to discover. Awesome work!

Lil Wrangler by Phing 2024-10-10T23:29:12Z

This is great! I sideloaded it on my playdate and it's going to stay installed. Love the premise, art, and simple but intuitive gameplay! I'd also love to see this developed further.

HATCH by jelch 2024-10-10T22:37:08Z

Fun game of pinball with a cool vibe and graphics that took me back to games of years past. It would be nice if the ball stood out a bit more from the background, but overall it wasn't a problem. Nice work!

The Governor's Will by chusmimax 2024-10-24T21:02:51Z

I really enjoyed the music in this! Fun game too, though a bit easy. Well done!

Pseudopseudopodia, or amoeba walking simulator by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-10-23T20:22:03Z

This is a neat experiment! I enjoyed watching the amoebas move and the inclusion bits are cool

Nectarmancer by shamotte 2024-10-10T23:55:49Z

Nectarmancer is an amazing name! Charming art and pleasant-to-control gameplay. I feel the difficulty got trivial once I got enough bees, but I still played to the end. The title screen start button mechanic was particularly clever, serving as a tutorial. Excellent work!

Tripping Hazard by Pigeonescu 2024-10-23T20:41:58Z

Strange vibe with this one and I dig it! Love the 2D art on top of the 3D. Nice work on the intro cinematic too. Game feel could be improved with bullet impacts and movement speed tuning, but it was still fun.

Farting Mite by Adam Armonia 2024-10-10T22:52:53Z

I had some control issues and the jittery camera was a bit unreliable, but I laughed and the character art is quite cute!

LD57 — Depths

Brainwash by limered 2025-04-23T01:20:55Z

Love the title music! The size of the level was a bit overwhelming, but I enjoyed floating around and cleaning with the lazor for a while. Some dialog and banter would go a long way to keep interest during the tedium. Nice work!

Slinky Catch by Papaver 2025-04-24T02:30:37Z

This was really cool! The vibrant colors initially caught my eye, but this is a novel mechanic for an avoid-the-walls type game!

Toby's Room by Lipski 2025-04-24T02:45:12Z

This was excellent! It felt very personal and authentic. Great presentation on the graphics and audio side, and fun writing as well. I also appreciated how you displayed the credits! Nice work

MS Drowning by Anton Florey 2025-04-23T23:44:47Z

Very charming art style and presentation! That reflection and splash are very juicy. I could see the grabbing mechanic being expanded into some really interesting uses too. Nice work!

Canyon Cult by hank_the_tank 2025-04-23T01:25:57Z

This is cool and very chaotic! Devil Daggers vibes. Audio cues would definitely help with the awareness of enemies around you, as I found myself spinning around constantly haha

Raid the Abyss by Static_Leap_Studios 2025-04-23T23:37:11Z

Great visuals and plodding feel to this! I found it a bit tedious to traverse large distances, but I like the intentional aspect of positioning to attack. Cool stuff!

Where the Stars End by Aristos-Interactive 2025-04-24T02:51:00Z

Cool ambient audio and a chill experience. I had some trouble moving sometimes, like input would just be ignored for a while, but I was able to still succeed by blasting everything in my path.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Magneto De Liquidus by Ajayajayaj 2018-05-06T19:41:22Z

Awesome puzzle game! Now I want more levels! While the stages initially seemed like they were getting harder, it actually got easier for me. I could see future levels getting really wild, having maze-like walls and red zones within the tank. The physics felt great and the fluid blobs looked nice and juicy. Great job!

Ascension by Erkberg 2018-05-06T18:07:52Z

The feel and timing from intro to end screen was incredible! The music was perfect for the mood, and I love the little dance the followers make. Wonderful on all counts!

Lofoten by Jonathan Whiting 2018-05-06T16:38:12Z

Super cool! The presentation of this is fantastic. Randomizing and tweaking the islands feels and looks great. Being able to save out GIFs is very clever and adds lasting value! I love it.

lofoten.gif

Jungle Rumble by masterkrepta 2018-05-06T18:49:43Z

I thought the genre concept and premise was interesting and funny! I was able to easily cheese the AI by standing behind a log and tossing bananas over it, but still had fun. The SFX were a little jarring, with the explosions being a pretty harsh sounding. The turn time felt a little short. It would be cool if instead of being tied to time, you had action points you could spend by moving or firing bananas. Overall nice work!

Demon Dash by superpokeunicorn 2018-05-06T20:22:03Z

The presentation and concept were really well done! I found some difficulty managing to dodge around enemies, like the movement was a little sluggish, but I still had fun jumping around and trying to acquire the correct hat.

Piece of Paradise by afendar 2018-05-06T15:19:51Z

I made it out alive! The mechanics were simple but fairly straightforward after realizing I needed to hold space instead of tapping. The enemies were a little too easy to avoid though, and never really felt like a threat. A lot of nice touches caught my eye, like the damage numbers fly text, and item drop animations. This reminded me of playing a Gameboy game. Charming!

MechCity by PixelMonkey 2018-05-06T21:55:53Z

I love the color palette! Great graphics and music. The UI worked well enough for me, but a little more messaging of button states (pressed, disabled) would be nice. I thought I was doing well until a massive horde came in and demolished me! Fun game!

SKYWOOOD PIER by designernap 2018-05-07T00:21:52Z

Wonderful presentation! The audio is fantastic and the graphics are great! The polish on this is outstanding. The fade out when you fall, atmospheric sounds, everything contributes so well to the mood. I enjoyed this very much.

Dungeon Scrawl by ildfuglen 2018-05-06T14:54:59Z

I had so much fun playing this! Over multiple attempts I got further and further along, which felt like good progression. My best run was to level 4, where I got killed by a mimic! A couple of times I spawned into a room with multiple enemies which felt a bit unfair, but not impossible to deal with. I also noticed a minor issue where it seemed the same word would be prompted in a row and it would fail to recognize. Overall fantastic work! Good sound, graphics, and excellent game feel. I will probably bust this game out again to test new keyboards with.

Text Based Adventure by patvanmackelberg 2018-05-06T23:32:50Z

Very cool! Love the text based art and pixel vfx. The sounds fit nicely though bordered on the harsh side at times. Everything felt great to control, and the variations in AI were fun to encounter! Great job!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-04-24T00:14:10Z

Thanks for the heads up @travis-spuller! I've updated the download link to point to my itch.io page.

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-04-26T01:52:30Z

You can use 7-Zip to open them, but I went ahead and uploaded a .zip!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-06T20:34:28Z

@ildfuglen I'm really happy you enjoyed it! Playing as a fork would be an awesome mechanic for multiplayer too! If I end up putting more work into this project or concept, I will definitely try it out! Thank you!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-06T20:39:55Z

@masterkrepta Thank you! The textures were all made in Substance Designer, and the materials use vertex coloring to add variation and some breakup. The grease mask is just Z projected onto the plate. :)

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-06T23:17:19Z

@Ajayajayaj I may have to! Thanks for playing! :D About the forks, they always target the closest meatball, so it is possible to brush them off on others, but when it's down to the final ones the horde can get hard to shake!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-07T00:31:42Z

@rigdonware Thank you! I'm glad others find meatball based humor as tasteful as I do!

@Pennycook Thank you for the kind feedback! It sounds like there may be a bug with my async level loading. I pass the number of meatballs to spawn as a parameter when opening the level, and the default is 2. That info is quite illuminating! The issue with the controller must be a disconnect between where UE4 expects the face buttons to be and the Steam controller bindings. I will definitely investigate that further!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-07T01:07:30Z

@Ajayajayaj That makes sense. I never got around to adding avoidance or collision among the forks!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-07T02:20:47Z

@Jamblefoot Multiplayer would be the best, but some AI-controlled sentient meatballs would also be cool! They could attempt to kite forks to you or try to force you off the side! Thank you for the wonderful comments!

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-07T07:31:36Z

@Slashee-the-Cow Thank you for such detailed feedback! The SteamVR issue is caused by me not explicitly disabling the SteamVR plugin, which is enabled by default on new projects.

Forkbite by irwatts 2018-05-07T14:39:08Z

@Zinkler Thank you! I feel like the compass really ties the whole game together.

@LeonLaci I'm happy you found my game interesting! Those meatballs do look to be a little on the rare side, so your apprehension is probably correct! :) Thank you for playing!

@Maz-Hem Perfect! That's the kind of raw emotion I hoped to evoke with this experience.

Power in Numbers by amras0000 2018-05-06T21:18:16Z

Awesome! I really liked the feel of activating a chain reaction. The required number of buildings to destroy was a little out of my reach, but I had a lot of fun in my attempts. Everything messaged well and played great!

Litur Teningur by Vinterskog 2018-05-06T22:38:26Z

I like this combo of voxel building and match-3 puzzle! I fell out of the sky too many times, but having a mechanic that offers an ability to avoid that could nullify the issue. Movement was decent, though there were times when I felt like I should have been able to jump into certain openings but I couldn't. I think this is a promising concept!

Gradioid by BeamKirby 2018-05-06T18:35:07Z

I may have rage quit, but I did have fun! The controls feel reliable enough that when I got trapped or smashed into something, I only blamed myself. The music and sfx were great and fit well with the graphics!

Rhythmobots Defence by Evannex 2018-05-06T20:49:16Z

Cool music and vibe! I like the idea of the enemies being driven by music! Moving and shooting felt good, though SFX would of course help sell everything. Messaging for successful vs failed hits would also be a benefit. I had fun!

Oceanscapes by __init__.py 2018-05-06T19:22:51Z

I escaped! Super cool ending to an fun game. I loved the genre mashup and tasteful use of word art. The scores required not matching the level screen was a little odd, but it just added to the mystique. I'd say it's not just match-3/text-based adventure, but also part memory game!

A Nice Walk Flying Simulator by Maz_Hem 2018-05-07T17:44:29Z

This is an unexpected genre combo! Sounds like you had a good time taking source images and making this! While there isn't much in the way of gameplay, I like the way you cut up the photo into strips to make it scroll by! It would be cool to have some keyboard controls so you don't have to constantly click.

Pancake Topper by xUMR 2018-05-06T22:23:52Z

This definitely made me hungry. What a unique game! I enjoyed the pleasant mood. Some of the words were very unexpected though. Do people actually put milk on their pancakes?

Tidal by Travis Spuller 2018-05-06T21:43:12Z

Love the ambient atmosphere! Using the shadows to help understand the level worked pretty well without being annoying. It would be nice to have checkpoints following some jumps to help with the difficulty. After dying multiple times on the two rocks after the elevated section I had to call it. The tide is an interesting mechanic and making the day and night cycle have a functional purpose is extra cool. Lighting fell a little flat during the night section, but overall looked really nice!

Run N' Cook by LeonLaci 2018-05-06T17:00:30Z

I like the premise and bizarre mood of this game! After multiple attempts to complete it and not being able to cook everything at the end, I eventually gave up, but had some fun doing so. The graphics could use some consistency, but the music didn't bother me and the controls felt alright enough!

FarmPunch by F14K-3R 2018-05-06T22:13:08Z

I like the weird story being told here of a farmer and his carrot and I want to know more. The cue for action could use some more messaging though. Also when the fight ended, the game would often immediately close on me, due to the UI listening to the same buttons as the fighting. The graphics and style had a whimsy that I enjoyed!

Real Time Tower Defense by rigdonware 2018-05-07T00:50:29Z

I had the scout collecting steel, but the turret icons never enabled so I could build one. This left me unable to defend the tower and I died every time from the first wave. This looks and feels charming though!

Super Chess Card Wars by Jamblefoot 2018-05-07T02:40:38Z

I played against myself, but the controls feel great! The characters look hilarious and the stages have a silly vibe. I'll be holding on to this to bust out next time I've got a friend over!

Element Crush by vfqd 2018-05-06T15:58:31Z

Awesome combination of genres! I went in completely blind and was able to figure out almost all of the mechanics just by trying different things out. The messaging for the tower attack range was a little confusing at first, most likely due to the coloring, which I would have expected to have some red, but I figured it out. Good readable graphics, good sounds, intuitive UI, and fun to play! elementCrushScore2.png

Cold Stars. Empty Voxels. by Alexander Danilovsky 2018-05-06T22:50:33Z

This is a great concept, but it seems of massive scope. You've accomplished an impressive amount of functionality given the time too! Of course there is going to be some jank, as there are so many systems that require polish. I had fun navigating around and blowing stuff up even so!

Deep Soul(TurnbasedPlatform) by Franz 2018-05-06T23:12:07Z

I like this! The turrets massively increased the difficulty, but some extra polish like hinting at their timings would help that. The flipping upside-down aspect evoked some VVVVVV vibes for sure, but this has a feel of its own!

The Mad Bulleteer by Diego Escalante 2018-05-06T20:04:37Z

Really cool genre combo! Real time purchasing of upgrades worked really well with the shmup style. The difficulty ramp felt great with the importance of purchases getting greater as the stakes got higher. Of course I'd like hotkeys but that would defeat the purpose of a clicker! The scoreboard functionality really sells the completeness of it! Great work.
